Is the food off the kid's menu pretty good or just fair? Come on, kids, tell!!

Our DD-13, pretty much has her standard menu and she was happy with the menu however toward the end of the cruise was starting to get bored with it. Our other DD-10 is much more adventurous and would order off of the adult menu a few times. She was very happy with menu and always had chicken noodle soup for an appetizer. Our DDs always had dinner with us as they enjoyed dressing up and LOVED our server Nicu and asst server Cynthia.

My son liked the chicken soup too. It has mickey noodles. My son liked the things that he ate. He is a picky eater and a small appetite, but he ate very well the whole trip.

DD (2 yo) and DS (4 yo) were able to find things on the menu they liked -- grilled cheese, pizza, hot dog, pb&j, chicken tenders. Also, depending on the restaurant there were also additional selections based on that restaurant.

And of course they loved the desserts!

our 3 yr old dd ate from the adult menu about half the time -- she usually wanted something the grilled chicken or steamed fish and I always asked for the steamed veggies b/c, surprisingly disney doesn't seem too concerned about providing kids with anything more than french fries as a vegetable. My kid may be unusual, but she likes carrots, green beans and broccoli and I think she was actually getting tired of french fries after three days or so.

I always saw a veggie side dish with my son's meals and we didn't even ask for them.

No complaints from my then-4-year-old DS.

My DD is VERY picky, and had some trouble with the food. She likes her food a certain way, and if it didn't look like what she is used too, she had trouble. Also, she isn't much of a hotdog. hamburger kind of kid anyway. DS started the cruise off with the kids' menu, but was ordering greek salad and prime rib off the adult menu by Wednesday....and eating it!

My Ds (then 7) enjoyed the kids menu, but also ordered items off the adult menu especially when it came to dessert. Although not strictly kids food, DS loved the pizza and chicken fingers by the pools.

We had a little boy at our table on the last trip who was absolutely in love with the BREAD!!! He would fill his plate with it as soon as he got his hands on the bread basket. Mom kept yelling at him, but the amazing thing is that he would finish all that he took! Of course, he was pretty full by the time his dinner food came around. Can't say I blame him, as some of those breads are absolutely delcious. The foccacia at Animators...mmmmmmmmm!!!!!

Actually, my kids were 15 and 17 at the time, and they ordered off the kids menu a few times. Son loved the chicken fingers and chocolate pudding, and daughter enjoyed having a Mickey bar for dessert. :)

My dd 6 LOVED the Chicken Noodle Soup and ordered it every night!
My kids were one of the few, I guess, that were NOT encouraged to order off the adult menu. Our server was surprised when our ds 11 ordered escargot the first night for an appetizer. He and dd 9 ordered off the adult menu that night. The next night, our server told them to circle, on the Kids' menu, what they wanted to eat that night. I was a bit disappointed because I was hoping they would venture out and try some new things (like escargot) off the adult menu each night. Every night after that, our server told them to circle...and they did. Dh is not one to encourage our kids to order off the adult menu if it's not supported by the servers. (He just doesn't get it...nor does he read these boards! ) He's more apt to worry about waste than anything else.

Our kids ate a lot of pizza...and Mickey Bars. :(

Thanks for all the replies--(keep them coming!) Our DDs are 8 and 12 and they will want to try stuff off adult menus too--but if they want to order off kids menus, or stay in the clubs and/or grab pizza or hot dog or even ice cream before our "late" seating, we say "go for it"--no pressure! It's a VACATION! I am kind of looking forward to late seating after DH and I had early seating in 1999 on NCL--seemed like you had to start getting ready at 4:30!

Family of 6--I would be disappointed too if the server just wanted the kids to order off kids menus--especially 9 and 11 year old--hope had a good trip anyway!

I do have scans of the kids menus on the site:

http://disneycruiser.fateback.com/kidmenu1.htm

they are the same on the Magic and Wonder
and basically have the standard kid fare you'll see in resturants, with one special entree everyday.

Personally the only thing we've ordered is the Mickey ice cream bars.

Thanks Tony for posting those menus. It looks like my younger daughter will love the food. I'm a little concerned about my older daughter because there are no hamburgers -- I'm sure she'll find something to eat on the adult menu, but she loves cheeseburgers.

Are there cheeseburgers available at lunch -- maybe that will satisfy her!

My DS7 had adult desserts about 3 times on our cruise & the chocolate lava cake was a big hit . . . in Animators the dessert special was served on the "pallett" plates & he thought that was cool!

Can older children (my daughter is 11) order off the adult menu if they choose to? Is it just frowned upon or not allowed?

My DS who is 10 1/2 ordered off the kid's menu at first, but swa soon ordering and EATING things from the adult menu.....on his own! Greek salad, and prime rib were his favorites. I think our out-to-eat nights just got more expensive!
