Hi
We will be visiting So Cal later this year and I was tossing up whether to go to either Medieval Times or the Pirates dinner.
For those that have been to both (or either) which one is better? Pirates is slightly more expensive so I don't know if that means that it is better.
Any info or opinions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

We went to Medieval Times last year because I happened to find better discounts. This year I'm thinking about going to Pirates and have seen a few deals. Someone else on this board recommended goldstar dot com to get discount tickets, like half off. I haven't used them.
The biggest differences I saw researching them was that the Medieval Times show reviews were better. If you have picky-eater kids, however, remember that Medieval Times does NOT offer a children's menu, but Pirates does. My two youngest ate almost nothing at MT, but I heard about it ahead of time and brought some snacks for them.

I really like Pirates a lot and went a couple months ago, but haven't been to MT in years. From what I remember, there was a lot of jousting and things like that. In Pirates, theres acrobats, singing, fighting, and a few special things for kids. And besides the meal, if you go early, there's appitizers around the lobby area that's included w/ the tix, but drinks cost extra. I'd have to say that I got full just on the appitizers! I thought it was a lot of fun & I'd definately go again.

I've gone to Medieval Times twice in Myrtle Beach and it's really quite boring actually. The only fun thing about it is the food. Other than that you're just watching dudes on horses ride back and forth and back and forth playing these mini tournament games and half the time you don't even understand what game they are playing. It may be different in California, but if it's not I just didn't find it all that amusing.
