Hello all! Well as TK points out, I am a sick little DISer. A souvenir I didn't even have to pay for...with money, anyway. I'm now making backpayments via Z-pack.

However, I'm here and we're going to tell you a fun little story about a fun little trip to the World that, as the report title says...you never...saw...comin'.

Hi! I think it's fair to speak for TK and say we're BOTH happy to have you!

TK and I have been having a behind-the-scenes discussion on the logistics of co-writing the report and I think we have everything squared away. The big piece I need to take care of on my end to really get the ball rolling is to get my pics uploaded. Unfortunately being sick delayed everything but hopefully I'm at the tail end of it...

Thanks to EVERYONE for jumping on board! :flower3:

No, it wasn't indecent.

Okay, wait. Maybe it was a little, but I was just kidding. :lmao: It's possible I may have even asked Tink's BF if I could borrow her. ;)

In all seriousness, every trip starts as an idea. An idea that you want to go the World. That you want to do certain things. That you'd like to share those things with a certain someone.

In my case, it happened to be that I wanted to go to the World with Tink. My DIS twin. My long lost sister. The Luke to my Leia. The Romy to my Michele. The Laverne to my...did we ever really decide which one of us was which?

Anyway, this isn't a pre trip report, it's a trip report, but before we start talking about what we did, I figured you all would like a little background.

Hi, my name is TK, and I'm a Jack Sparrow-aholic.

That about sums it up. ;) Now I happened to take a trip with my mom, nana, and my four year old son in December of 2008. After that trip, I was a bit tired. A bit happy and a bit dissappointed. And a bit desirous of a trip to the World where I could do what I wanted.

When I wanted.

Where I wanted.

To heck with the consequences!!!!

Pirate. pirate:

But I wasn't ready for a solo trip. And so rolling around in my head like a pinball in a machine, hitting into certain parts of my brain making those ding noises and such was an idea.

An idea to go to the World with Tink. Who, quite frankly, has not only enlightened my life but become my dearest friend in the world and World, the only exception being my husband.

I can't tell you what she means to me. I can't put it all into words. There are things that I can tell her that I don't admit to anyone. And I can't tell you how long I've been waiting for a friend like that. I went through a sad period of a lack of quality friends, and it was depressing.

I mean, we all have our families, but not much beats the friendship shared between women.

It's the bond.

Of the sisterhood.

YA YA!!!!! :lmao:

Anyway, now that you know roughly how we met, and roughly how close we are, let's suffice it to say that my little idea eventually got voiced to my husband.

TK - "Honey?"

TK's DH (who bears a remarking resemblance to Jack Sparrow:cloud9:) - "Yes?" The wariness in his voice is well warranted, he can tell this is my I'm about to ask you something interesting voice.

TK - "What do you think if I went to Disney World with Tink?"

TK's DH - "Okay. When?"

Ahhhh....and so the idea was born. Or maybe I asked her first and then told him. Who can say? Either way, once the man gave the green light, all systems were GO.

But only, how to propose.

How to ask my dear friend if she would share a trip with me to the World.

Hmmm..... :scratchin

I'd like to pretend I was creative. I'd like to pretend that I thought up something really interesting and funny and witty and wonderful.

But basically, the IM convo went something like this.

TK - "Hey, Tink."

Tink - said something amazingly witty and clever in response

TK - "I have an idea....a proposal if you will."

Tink - "Yes?"

TK - "Will you....could you....would you go to Disney World with me?"

Tink - "YES!!!!"

Or something like that. We can ask her how she remembers it. :lmao:

And that dear friends, is how this trip was born.

Now we definitely had our ideas about when we wanted to go (which mostly involved convenience for my DH since he'd be responsible for DS the whole time), and where we wanted to stay, and OF COURSE what we wanted to eat, but that will all be revealed in due course.

As I said, this is a trip report.

And without further ado, I turn the forum over to my dear friend, Tink, and the beginning of day one.

Take it away!!! :flower3:

Welcome on board. :goodvibes

Seriously, I can't wait to read the rest of this trip report. One favor TK, can you make sure Tink finishes this one? :flower3:

Actually, that TR is actually still in progress. Due to personal issues, I was away from the boards for a while and when I came back I couldn't get the old TR properly reactivated (a long and convoluted story I will spare you from). The new link is in my siggie below. Feel free to join on in!

Okay, wait. Maybe it was a little, but I was just kidding. :lmao: It's possible I may have even asked Tink's BF if I could borrow her. ;)

That would have been an interesting conversation. :rotfl:

In my case, it happened to be that I wanted to go to the World with Tink. My DIS twin. My long lost sister. The Luke to my Leia. The Romy to my Michele. The Laverne to my...did we ever really decide which one of us was which?

You just know I'm going to be thinking of the two of you as Romy and Michele now don't you?

Hi, my name is TK, and I'm a Jack Sparrow-aholic.

Direct and to the point. TK's Disney self summed up in one sentence.

This is wonderful. I can so relate. I think it gets even harder as we get older too.

:lmao:

Again, wonderfully straight and to the point! (Lawyers must love you! ;) )

To distinguish my chapters from my replies to other's comments, look for the Pink Tink Ink!

After my Sept. trip with Missy, I really had no idea when my next trip to the World would be. At the time, despite some heavy PDD (Post Disney Depression) I was mostly ok with that. I had a TR in the works to at least give me some Disney every day and my personal/work life was out-of-control busy.

TK, however, had other plans.

She wined and dined me. (Ok. Technically she dined BF and I and we wined her and her DH over a Christmas visit.)

She wooed me with pictures of her and her family. WITH HEADS!

And then, she proposed.

I mean really, what girl in her right mind would say no to 3 nights in the World with her BFF???

Of course I accepted. And then needed to "ask" BF. Not so much for permission but to make sure that he wasn't going to be REALLY sad that I might go to the World without him.

You know, considering my dear BF's passionate love affair with all things Disney.

...

scoff scoff scoff

BF was ok with it and gave us his blessing. And then promptly changed the channel and proceeded to forget about the trip altoghther.

What is it with men? Every week for the last 4 weeks before we left he'd ask me when I was going and when I was coming back! Write. It. Down.

Anywho. We worked out the details and the dates. And as TK said, this isn't a PTR so most of those details will be revealed in due course. But here are a few hints:

Where we stayed: It was a hotel. On Disney property. With beds.
What we ate: Copious amounts of food.
What we did: Visited the House of Mouse.

Heh, heh, heh. I can be PURE EVIL PIXIE sometimes.

However, at this point, it seems prudent to clarify our dates:

5/23/09-5/26/09

As the trip approached we got more and more giddy. First we were counting down days to when we could make ADRs. Then we were counting down days until the double digits. Then single digits. And, no joke, at some point the number of hours was involved.

Do you know how hard it was NOT to have a ticker in my siggie?!

But finally, 5/22/09 arrived. That was MY first day of vacation, despite us not leaving until the next day. TK was working her full day (poor thing). I worked a half day and then raced home to finish up any packing I had left and to run a couple of errands. The plan was for me to stay at TK's the night before as we would be flying together out of her local airport instead of flying out separately.

And so my journey began.

But let me say this. What would a Tinkerbellarella Disney TR report be without car trouble?

:sad2:

Poor TK, by the time I arrived at her house (which takes about 2 hours from where I am) my hair was probably sticking up all over the place and I looked like I needed a straight jacket.

Why?

Well Lola, my pretty little Civic, needs two new tires. And an alignment. And balancing. Badly. But apparently more than I really understood pre-road-trip-to-TK's. You see, the trip route that I allowed my GPS (who's name is Jane, BTW) to choose for me was all highway. Where the speed limit is 65mph.

Well, guess what Tink found out?
That her car needs tires, an alignment and balancing so badly that it shakes. A lot. Any time Tink drives over 60mph. And especially downhill.

Seriously, after 2.5 hours driving 55-58 in the low speed lane, being passed up by every semi in creation carrying God knows what and terrified that my car would spontaneously explode into a million shiny pieces I'd never been so happy to see TK's place.

I started to decompress when she arrived home from work shortly after I got to her place and we got my luggage inside.

By the way, it can't be overstated, TK and her family are lovely. They made me tacos. Her DS calls me Auntie Tink. Her DH teases me as if I was one of the family.

After dinner and finding two little sparrows performing "adult activities" on her porch (NO JOKE, after the initial shock and awe we were hysterical), I talked to BF for a bit, to let him know I'd arrived safely, if not panic-stricken and anxiety ridden and then bid him adieu and good night. I missed him already.

TK's DS headed off to beddy-bye with his daddy in tow and storybook in hand (collective "AWWWWW") and TK and I settled onto the couch to get in some great girly-chat and to paint our toes.

Seriously? We know how to do a sleepover.

I remember looking at the clock at 9:00 thinking, 'We should hit the hay soon if we have to be up at 6:00.'

I thought the same thing at 9:30.

10:00.

Finally, at 11:30 we conceded that if we didn't go to sleep, the next day could be disastrous.

But it was hard. As TK so eloquently and sweetly described above, we have a real bond. I am Luke, she's Leia. I'm Romy, she's Michelle. And I definitely think I'm Shirley, TK, and you're Laverne.

I, ironically, used to have gerbils named Laverne and Shirley.

Moving on.

We talked about so much, in that way that is soul-touching, heart-warming and deep. We are so much alike and yet our differences offer just enough perspective and objectivity that it's nothing if not beneficial. I certainly won't share here everything we discussed. It's far too personal and private. However I WILL tell you we both painted our toes a sassy red.

The Force was with...our feet.

:yoda:

We retired, sleepy and excited, ready to wake up the next morning and head to the World.

No, it wasn't indecent.

No, what was indecent was the little public display put on by those sparrows on your deck.

It's possible I may have even asked Tink's BF if I could borrow her. ;)

This sounds weird, yes, but in real life it's not as weird as it sounds.

And a bit desirous of a trip to the World where I could do what I wanted.

When I wanted.

Where I wanted.

Something different?

An idea to go to the World with Tink. Who, quite frankly, has not only enlightened my life but become my dearest friend in the world and World, the only exception being my husband.

I can't tell you what she means to me. I can't put it all into words. There are things that I can tell her that I don't admit to anyone. And I can't tell you how long I've been waiting for a friend like that. I went through a sad period of a lack of quality friends, and it was depressing.

I mean, we all have our families, but not much beats the friendship shared between women.

It's the bond.

Of the sisterhood.

Awwwww. Ditto, my friend.

The wariness in his voice is well warranted, he can tell this is my I'm about to ask you something interesting voice.

CHA-CHING!

You know what that sound is? More being added to TK's Debt to Be Repaid. ;)

Tink - said something amazingly witty and clever in response.

This made me snortlaugh.

TK - "I have an idea....a proposal if you will."

Dude. So EXACTLY what you said, too.

And if you like to drink pink ink, then you should get a nink, I think...

TK, however, had other plans.

Hmmm, now we all know the way to Tink's Disney heart.

I mean really, what girl in her right mind would say no to 3 nights in the World with her BFF???

One that would need to have her pineapple revoked that's who. I'm so glad you didn't force us to have to do that.

BF was ok with it and gave us his blessing. And then promptly changed the channel and proceeded to forget about the trip altoghther.

Are you begining to run a debt tally to be repaid too?

Where we stayed: It was a hotel. On Disney property. With beds.
What we ate: Copious amounts of food.
What we did: Visited the House of Mouse.

All signs of a quality vacation. I keep trying to guess where by TK's first picture. The bright yellow is throwing me. I'm going to have to guess POP, with CB as my backup.

But finally, 5/22/09 arrived. That was MY first day of vacation, despite us not leaving until the next day. TK was working her full day (poor thing). I worked a half day and then raced home to finish up any packing I had left and to run a couple of errands.

You see, the trip route that I allowed my GPS (who's name is Jane, BTW) to choose for me was all highway. Where the speed limit is 65mph.

Isn't this the BF's job to make sure you don't hit the road with a messed up car? Seriously I thought that's one of the reasons we keep men around. (Not a very important one, but one of them).

By the way, it can't be overstated, TK and her family are lovely. They made me tacos. Her DS calls me Auntie Tink. Her DH teases me as if I was one of the family.

Auntie Tink, I love it!

TK's DS headed off to beddy-bye with his daddy in tow and storybook in hand (collective "AWWWWW") and TK and I settled onto the couch to get in some great girly-chat and to paint our toes.

Direct and to the point. TK's Disney self summed up in one sentence.

Although I can be rather verbose and confusing, much like the good captain, every now and then, I come out with a concise nugget like that.

Again, wonderfully straight and to the point! (Lawyers must love you! ;) )

It's funny you mention that. I've had several people tell me I missed my true calling, in the field of law. Funny thing is, it's one of the careers my Granddad considered. Another funny thing is we're both very good actors.

But let me say this. What would a Tinkerbellarella Disney TR report be without car trouble?

And what would a TK TR be without someone getting sick?

Poor TK, by the time I arrived at her house (which takes about 2 hours from where I am) my hair was probably sticking up all over the place and I looked like I needed a straight jacket.

Actually, you looked quite lovely, but very, very stressed. I felt badly.

By the way, it can't be overstated, TK and her family are lovely. They made me tacos. Her DS calls me Auntie Tink. Her DH teases me as if I was one of the family.

Seriously? We know how to do a sleepover.

I remember looking at the clock at 9:00 thinking, 'We should hit the hay soon if we have to be up at 6:00.'

My only regret is that I did not get to meet you. Which just means that we'll have to do that at some point. :thumbsup2
Done - we'll make it happen for sure! :thumbsup2:hug:

I mean, we all have our families, but not much beats the friendship shared between women.
So very, very true! :goodvibes

How to ask my dear friend if she would share a trip with me to the World...

But basically, the IM convo went something like this.
This cracked me up! :rotfl2: Because I can count on one hand the number of times my very dearest DIS friends and I have talked on the phone... but I just deleted 2000+ setn emails to those same people!

Had I made the phone call instead of TK you'd have understood we were all likely in the same, exact boat that day. So it's all good, my friend. We both figured something came up and both hoped you were all ok.
 I felt really bad about it, so thanks for understanding!

Do you know how hard it was NOT to have a ticker in my siggie?!
Yup. I swore I wouldn't post another. Look down.

D'OH!

But let me say this. What would a Tinkerbellarella Disney TR report be without car trouble?
NOOO! Again?! :headache:

OH MY GOD!!! YOU FOUND A DANCING PINEAPPLE!!! YOU ARE MY HERO!!!

We woke early.

Who's surprised?

Star date, May twenty third, two thousand nine. TK stirs. It is early. There are no signs on intelligent...wait, Tink's awake!!! There are signs of intelligent life on this planet!!!

Okay, I don't know how intelligent or even if we were intelligible at this point in the morning, but suffice it to say my body somehow adjusted to Tink's internal alarm, and I was up at five am.

Ugh. And then I realized I was going to Disney World. YAY!!!! I may have done a little of this :yay: but it was all internal.

We got ready and did our last minute packing, snagged a little breakfast and got ready for the goodbyes. Which I was looking forward to and dreading all at the same time. I was excited to go, but I wasn't sure how I or any member of my family would react. I was trying to be strong, but it was my first time leaving them.

It was weird. In a good way.

I wanted to linger and rush all at the same time so I don't dwell on it. Once I let DS know that he had presents from me, one per day I was gone, he was all a twitter for me to leave so he could open the first gift. There were no tears from anyone, we did well.

Upheld the code.

Maintained the pirate exterior. We won't discuss the interior.

As we were departing, DS let this one slip, "Will Auntie Tink stay here with me?"

Cue the collective "Awwwwwww...." Basically he didn't care if I left, but dang it, Auntie Tink was fun, and she was leaving too? :lmao:

Hugs and kisses all around, suitcases in the car, and we were off. It was a pleasant car ride to head to my mother's, and we were a bit early. So when we got stuck behind a tractor (I do live near some farm country), it wasn't even a big deal, we had plenty of time. I was able to show Tink some of the town I grew up in and that was kind of neat.

We get to my mother's and have our very first pictures. No joke, before I even introduced them! Mom said, "Okay, picture time!" I think she was so excited for us, that she just wanted to start snappin! :thumbsup2 I took an opportunity between photos to introduce Mom to Tink, and that was nice.

We transferred luggage to Mom's car, and we were off. She was a typical mom, and it was so sweet. Did everyone remember ________ (fill in the blank with appropriate toiletry)? :lmao: "Yes!" :thumbsup2

Mom brings us to the airport, and we engage in the second round of goodbyes. Southwest check in was a breeze, there was barely a line, so that was great. A bit longer of a wait for security, but no big deal. I had a girlfriend to talk to, and that was sort of thrilling and different and good all at the same time.

I marveled at the fact that I only had one bag.

That felt sooooo good.

As we got settled down by our gate to wait for the plane, I had a little suprise for Tink. During the many random conversations we have through e-mail (sometimes at work), I had discovered that her favorite lollipops were red. We hand them out at the bank to the kiddos, although I tell my customers they're for children of all ages. A little Disney lives with me every day, trust me. So I got her three different kinds of red for the plane ride, and presented them. She was happy.

I also had another surprise for us, since it was a girls trip, and meant to be fun.

I prefaced it with the, will you wear anything I give you?

She said yes. Brave woman.

I can't belive she trusts me. :lmao:

Fortunately, it was nothing embarassing. Just these.

http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll289/tarzanskat/WDWMay09-0012.jpg

And just like that, we were officially on vacation. (I'll ignore the obvious joke.:lmao:)

Boarding was a breeze. Tink had a higher number than I did, so she was able to go on first and snag us a nice row near the front of the plane. She saved me the aisle. Bless her. I don't talk a great deal about my flying angst, but it exists, and it's mostly pushed down by the fact that I'm traveling with a lot of people, and usually my son, so let's say I'm too distracted to be nervous. But I really prefer the aisle, for a lot of reasons, and she got it for me.

Our flight wasn't full, so we were able to leave the seat in between us empty, which was nice to have room to spread out. Take off was a breeze, and I'd brought some gum, which was definitely helpful.

I was so excited for our plans for the plane ride.

No joke.

We were going to play cards. I haven't had anyone to play cards with in ages, and I was looking forward to a good game of more.

Little known factoid...or maybe well known factoid about TK: it doesn't take much to amuse. :lmao:

I swear to you now, on all that is holy, I had no idea I was so good at war. Which is really a game of luck and probability, not skill.

But we played one game of war for literally half of the plane ride. And I won. And then I won again.

And Tink was a gracious non-winner (loser sounds mean :lmao:) but we decided to play something else. We played war twice, right? Or was it three times? Did you win once? Memory is hazy here, I think you won once. Anyway, look for further clarification on this matter when Tink chimes in.

We got our snacks and drinks from the flight attendants and as Tink and I ate our peanuts and she was thinking of digging into the snack (100 calorie pack of wheat thins, I believe), I said, how about something else?

And then I pulled out surprise number three, the first being the pops, the second being the leis, and the third being...

http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll289/tarzanskat/cadbury.jpg

We split that Cadbury bar, and it was so dang good. Lunch of champions, I tell you. Chocolate, cards, and chit-chat. Does life get much better than this? Well, yeah, we were going to Disney World, but hey, I was happy!

We decided to switch up the card game, and Tink taught me how to play rummy. I'd played this a lot with my grandparents, but had totally forgotten how, and it was really nice to re-learn. Now with this game, you earn points, so we were keeping track. It was close my friends. Neck and neck at some points, and then not so much at others.

When we landed, Tink was in the lead.

I remember introducing the concept to my husband (then fiance). I used to lure him away from class with the prospect of an afternoon movie and the theater all to ourselves. Those wear the days, let me tell you.

Yum, yum, yum!

I accept all three. Cash totally unnecessary when liquor, junky apples, and chocolate are involved.

Actually, in lieu of cash, I'd be happy with Jack Sparrow. Could you toss him in there? Just go to the Pirate Tutorial in the Magic Kingdom with a great length of rope, use said rope to "kidnap" said pirate, ellude Disney security, and voila!

Hmm....now that I think about it, I don't know if I'd get him back from you if you did that. :scratchin

Ok, business first. I'm going to do some replies here and respond to what TK wrote with some of my own observations. Then I'm going to let TK have at it for the next chapter and I'll take the one after that. Unfortunately, Life has made a huge appearance over the past two weeks. Last week I had MAJOR car issues (read: EXPENSIVE) with Lola. This past weekend it was Engagement Party Madness for my brother and sister-in-law-to-be and right now I'm dealing with some unexpected medical issues with one of my furry babies. I'm literally sick with worry. I'm hoping to get to the vet with her today. Hoping nothing is terribly wrong.

However, I don't want to hold up this TR either. So, without further ado, see my replies/additions to TK's LOVERLY chapter below...

We woke early.

Early for TK, perhaps. LOL I felt like I was right on time. It was what, 5 a.m.?

Who's surprised?

::crickets::

Star date, May twenty third, two thousand nine. TK stirs. It is early. There are no signs on intelligent...wait, Tink's awake!!! There are signs of intelligent life on this planet!!!

Intelligent life is debatable. I'd slept pretty well, but given how late we were up discussing...well...everything under the sun, I was still tired. But excited. And as we all know, once you're up on Disney morning there's no going back to sleep.

We got ready and did our last minute packing, snagged a little breakfast and got ready for the goodbyes.

You know, I'm going to stop right here and say, in defense of women worldwide, we were both up, showered, dressed, packed and ready to go out the door in 55 minutes. Women high maintenance? Pssht.

Once I let DS know that he had presents from me, one per day I was gone, he was all a twitter for me to leave so he could open the first gift.

The boy had a one track mind. LOL

As we were departing, DS let this one slip, "Will Auntie Tink stay here with me?"

Cue Auntie Tink melting inside.

So when we got stuck behind a tractor (I do live near some farm country), it wasn't even a big deal, we had plenty of time.

When she says tractor, people, she means a FARM tractor not a semi or anything like that. It was just chugging along at about 3mph.

I marveled at the fact that I only had one bag.

Ahh. The joys of traveling solo. Many of which I shared with TK on this trip.

I WAS happy. Like, 5-year-old happy. Seriously. I still have two of the pops.

I prefaced it with the, will you wear anything I give you?

She said yes. Brave woman.

I can't belive she trusts me. :lmao:

Honestly, I think I temporarily lost that strainer between my brain and my mouth. I just out and answered. Ha!

http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll289/tarzanskat/WDWMay09-0012.jpg

Kitty Kat had one too. Perhaps once all of my pictures are loaded I'll share that with you. I have a very good idea about how I'm going to share "head only" shots of TK, sans the head.

And seriously? I might be smiling like an idiot but boy do I look tired. I'm just realizing this now. My eyes in particular. Ick.

Tink had a higher number than I did, so she was able to go on first and snag us a nice row near the front of the plane.

Fun fact for those of you flying SW and checking in online or otherwise - if you get boarding number A-16, you will likely be the first person to board the plane. In the past 4 flights I've been on, they don't distribute numbers A-1 through A-15. Not sure why. So, this time around I was A-17 and the second person on the plane. Score!

I swear to you now, on all that is holy, I had no idea I was so good at war. Which is really a game of luck and probability, not skill.

Don't listen to her. The woman is a WAR card shark.

But we played one game of war for literally half of the plane ride. And I won. And then I won again.

Card. Shark.

And no lie. The first game of WAR lasted for almost 2 hours.

We played war twice, right? Or was it three times? Did you win once? Memory is hazy here, I think you won once. Anyway, look for further clarification on this matter when Tink chimes in.

I don't know. Did I win? I didn't write that down. I didn't think I did. I think you dominated all of the games we played. Until later...when I started using the power of the elements. LOL Just call me STORM.

And then I pulled out surprise number three, the first being the pops, the second being the leis, and the third being...

http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll289/tarzanskat/cadbury.jpg

We smelled it through the wrapper before we even opened it. I about DIED when she pulled this out. GOOD MILK CHOCOLATE? If this were an alternate reality whereby TK was TK with said candy and I was Jack Sparrow, I'd marry her.

It was close my friends. Neck and neck at some points, and then not so much at others.

Oh, you mean like when you had, like 100 points in the first hand and I was already negative?! LOL

Up next - Florida Air

Smell it! Feel it! Seriously. This time around, it was more about FEELING it.

I love all of your comments. The comment about the tractor cracked me up. It didn't occur to me that someone might actually be confused by that. I guess that is what I get for being from MS! When she said tractor, I defintely pictured the big huge wheels and going very, very slow.

So sorry about all the stress! Car's are just a pain in the rear end, you can never win with them.

Hope your baby is going to be okay! I'll be thinking good thoughts for you.

Sorry about your car!

I detest cars at this point. Let's go back to when we all used to ride around on horses.

I love all of your comments.

Thanks. I really wanted to write a full-on chapter but unfortunately I don't really have the time to commit to properly write it today. But, as long as things are ok at the vet's, things will hopefully begin to quiet down.

The comment about the tractor cracked me up. It didn't occur to me that someone might actually be confused by that. I guess that is what I get for being from MS! When she said tractor, I defintely pictured the big huge wheels and going very, very slow.

TK's area is more rural than mine is (though not by too much) and I was telling the story to someone else and they didn't understand why the 'tractor' was going so slow. Then I realized they thought I meant 'tractor trailer' and not 'cuttin' and balin' hay kind of tractor'.

I hope your furry friend is ok. Is it a dog or a cat? Or some other animal? I love my little puppy!! I hope your furry friend is ok!

I have two little kittehs - Isabel and Dory. They're sisters. Dory has been sick (vomiting, etc.) on and off since Friday. It's definitely worsened in the past 24 hours. Kittehs dehydrate very easily (which can be fatal). The BF is going to bring her to the vet at 4:30 (God bless him - I've been reminded so many times in the past couple of weeks how lucky I am to have him).

I don't have kids so the girls are like my babies. I was so distraught this morning about the whole thing that I backed into my neighbor's car in the driveway. :headache: I then proceeded to have a meltdown. BF saw it happening and raced over to calm me down enough so that I could drive to the train station. Thankfully there was no damage to my neighbor's car and I have a little crack in my bumper I could care less about (in the grand scheme of things).

Needless to say it's been a really stressful day. I'm just praying for good news.

Score!

First, I hope your baby is ok. Keep us posted when you can.

As for the A1-A15 thing, those are reserved for the Business Select travelers (or whatever they're called), so if there aren't any, than A16 gets to be first. You must have mostly traveled "leisure" routes, b/c the flights I usually take have most of those slots filled.

Thankfully the little bobo is going to be ok. The plant we think she ate is not poisonous and her vitals were good. She was not dehydrated either. The vet gave her an injection of a Pepcid-like medicine and sent her home with instructions for no food for the night.

She seemed worse to me when I got home - hiding, shedding, not herself at all - and I was distraught. It wasn't an easy night, even knowing the vet said she'd be ok.

However, this morning she was much more herself - interested in food, looking for love, sitting in her favorite window watching the birds. She got a tablespoon of food when I first got up and then I left her with another couple of tablespoons for the day. We have to give her 10mg of Pepcid for the next four days to help neutralize the acids in her belly. There will probably still be some vomiting, etc. but she is already noticeably better. So I'M noticeably better. :goodvibes

Early for TK, perhaps. LOL I felt like I was right on time. It was what, 5 a.m.?

Yes, that is actually early in my household. We're usually 6 to 630 am people. Well, myself and DS. Not DH so much. :lmao:

You know, I'm going to stop right here and say, in defense of women worldwide, we were both up, showered, dressed, packed and ready to go out the door in 55 minutes. Women high maintenance? Pssht.

I don't know if you'll paint me in such a great light later in the report, although I would say compared to most I am fairly low maintenance. As a matter of fact, I thought I was pretty low maintenance until I saw how low maintenance you are! Then I discovered I was not. :lmao:

Honestly, I think I temporarily lost that strainer between my brain and my mouth. I just out and answered. Ha!

A common theme for the rest of the trip. ;)

Don't listen to her. The woman is a WAR card shark.

Card. Shark.

And no lie. The first game of WAR lasted for almost 2 hours.

Um, seriously? I hadn't played war in years. I had no idea I was this "card shark." :rotfl2:

I don't know. Did I win? I didn't write that down. I didn't think I did. I think you dominated all of the games we played. Until later...when I started using the power of the elements. LOL Just call me STORM.

I'm pretty sure you won war once, and were shocked when you did.

Hey, guys. I promise a new update will be coming soon. Once we hit my work week (Wed-Sat), it's darn near impossible for me to have the time and motivation to write a proper chapter. And since I refuse to pass off a poorly executed piece of writing that would be severely lacking in my usual wit and charm, I hope you'll all bear with me, and hopefully this weekend, we'll have something new.

Something different.

Today we got stuck behind a dumptruck who was going very slow. My dd asked me,"Do you see that red dump truck?" I said yes. She then went on to inform me (and I have to quote it since it is so cute),"When I get bigger I am going to fix up a dump truck for me with parts from WalMart so I can drive it." :lmao::lmao::lmao: She loves cars, trucks well anything with motors. At church one day while walking through the parking lot she informed us that (I quote again) "I love cars. They smell like muscle.":lmao::lmao::lmao:

Which makes me wonder.

Do Floridians come to New England, take a deep breath and say, "Ahh...New England air."

My guess is no, but you never know.

That would be however, exactly what I said to Tink as we stepped off the plane.

"Florida air." Cue deep inhalation of breath. Cue big ole sigh. :cloud9:

I was there, people. But not quite there. We still had to make it to our luggage and to Mr. Transportation. Never fear, all went completely smooth on that front. I will say, during the trip, I would definitely think of my husband and son, but not in a way that made me sad. This whole trip was so new to me, and being in Florida with anyone other than immediate family (although Tink is pretty much family, only lacking in the blood relation), was also new. So walking through the airport and getting on the first "monorail" to head over to baggage claim felt familiar, and yet completely different.

And I when I say completely different, I mean...

IT WAS TOTALLY AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!

Now, I think we all know how much I love my family. And part of me feels this little snag of guilt when I'm writing about this trip, because you know what? I had a good time, and I had a good time without them. With my girl Tink. And that's not to say I don't love them, and that I didn't think of them fondly during the trip, but I hope you won't call me a bad mother if I say, I didn't wish they were there. Granted, it was only four days, and really, we're all going together in September as a big family, so it didn't leave me with that kind of guilt. It only left me with the...should I be feeling worse about liking this independence?

I think all you moms will know what I mean. This was my first trip without my husband in many moons, and my first trip without my son, ever. And while I enjoyed it...oh, heck, I loved it, I did feel a little guilt every know and then.

Most of the time, however, I was having too much fun to notice.

And now, as we return from that sidebar, we're meeting up with Mr. Transportation, and we're off. Off to our hotel.

Which I haven't revealed yet, huh?

And I won't. You can wait and eensy, teensy bit longer. Mwa-ha-ha.

Okay, I'm not that mean.

Eventually, we arrived. Pulled in to check with security, and we were checking in. Three guesses as to the CM's name.

Go ahead.

You don't even need three, do you?

It was JACK!!!! Unfortunately, not this one...

http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll289/tarzanskat/TinkBDay-1-1-1.jpg

Perhaps, however, that is fortunate, because who knows what kind of pirates could be lurking about if he were the security guard. How easily he could be persuaded with a bit of rum. :rolleyes1

I digress. It was a sign, people.

A sign that we were destined to stay at this resort together. Tink's second time, my first.

Does this picture ring any bells?

http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll289/tarzanskat/DSCN2617.jpg

That's right, friends! Caribbean Beach Resort all the way!!!!!!!!

I was excited. Mega, mega, mega excited. I'd never stayed there before, and I immediately fell in love. It's so pretty, and I'm so glad to be here, with Tink, in this moment.

This moment of pure happiness, this moment of anticipation, this moment when your whole trip lays before you like a story waiting to be written.

This moment.

http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll289/tarzanskat/DSCN2182.jpg

http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll289/tarzanskat/DSCN2181-1.jpg

It's truly unfortunate that you can't see how big my smile is here.

I really think the thought bubble does it justice, though. ;)

The check in line was pretty long, but CMs were managing it efficiently and it moved quite quickly. While we were standing in line, we heard so many "Welcome to the islands," and when a CM saw our leis, she said, "Aloha." To which we both replied with a big, hearty ALOHA!!! :lmao: We were just a wee bit excited.

Jennifer from Korea was our check-in CM. She was very, very nice. We explained that Tink had been there before, and I hadn't, so she gave me the low down on the resort. We were so excited to be placed in Jamaica! Tink and I had debated requesting that village, so we were really excited to receive it anyway. Between the security guard named Jack and getting the village we wanted without asking, surely this trip was already blessed with some pixie dust.

Now Jennifer asked if we were celebrating our birthdays this trip and we said yes. Actually, before we left, Tink called to update her address with Disney Reservations, and the CM said, what are you celebrating? Tink said, oh, we're celebrating our birthdays, but they don't fall during the trip. He said, can you come to Disney during your birthdays? She said, well no. And he said, well then, you're celebrating them.

Thus we were aptly dubbed by that CM, "The Thirty and Flirty Celebration."

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Jennifer gave us both birthday buttons :yay: and we were off. Our room wasn't ready yet, but we were given a number to call. We checked our luggage with bell services, said our goodbyes to Mr. Transportation, and headed off to Old Port Royale.

Up next...what wonderful libations await us?;)

Not right now they don't. Because if they came to New England right now they'd need a snorkel to breathe.

But TK's right. There really is nothing quite like that first breath of Florida air. It's so unique. I'm sure it's a combination of heat and humidity and different flora and whatever they clean the airport terminal with but it is, distinctly, Florida. And I will admit to being places and all of a sudden exclaiming, "It smells like Florida right now!"

and yet completely different

Completely new.

This was actually an interesting experience for me. My trips have always been for ME (and maybe a friend or too if I wasn't solo). So it felt totally natural to be down there, family-less. And though I was sure that TK was really ok, deep down, being there without the rest of her clan, I tried to be sensitive and gently remind her that it's perfectly OK to focus 100% on yourself once in a while. And despite that this trip was about friendship and sisterhood and the big 3-0, don't let TK fool you. Despite their physical absence, this trip was still about her family in a lot of ways - emotional ways, reflective ways, planning-for-September ways. And I was so happy to have shared in that!

Eventually, we arrived. Pulled in to check with security, and we were checking in. Three guesses as to the CM's name.

Go ahead.

You don't even need three, do you?

It was JACK!!!! Unfortunately, not this one...

http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll289/tarzanskat/TinkBDay-1-1-1.jpg

What was especially funny was that TK (of course) made the Jack connection before I did. So she was like "Jack!" and I was all like, "Jack." and she was like "JACK!!!" and I was like, "Jack!" (light dawning).

But really, what a fitting welcome.

A sign that we were destined to stay at this resort together. Tink's second time, my first.

Does this picture ring any bells?

http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll289/tarzanskat/DSCN2617.jpg

That's right, friends! Caribbean Beach Resort all the way!!!!!!!!

So I totally have to share something with y'all since we didn't have a PTR. We weren't originally booked here. We were originally booked at POP (I think, considering that was way back in like, what Kat, October???). Which we were both ok with. Because we were going to Disney World. But then, we both were of like mind without even knowing it. TK REALLY wanted to stay at CBR, which she'd fallen in love with on a visit during her trip last Sept. Her darling DH was not so enamored as she. I've stayed at CBR before, granted 17 years ago, and really was pretty much go-with-the-flow enough to want to do it again. The only other Mod I have an intense desire to stay at is CSR and that really wasn't the feel of this trip. So we discussed and changed resorts. And I'm so glad we did. pirate:

This moment of pure happiness, this moment of anticipation, this moment when your whole trip lays before you like a story waiting to be written.

This moment.

http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll289/tarzanskat/DSCN2182.jpg

Yeah. That was a great moment. I just smiled at me smiling.

While we were standing in line, we heard so many "Welcome to the islands," and when a CM saw our leis, she said, "Aloha." To which we both replied with a big, hearty ALOHA!!! :lmao: We were just a wee bit excited.

The lady in front of us and her daughter (who had the Jack folder but didn't look very enthused to be in Disney, remember) thought we were crazy. I'm sure of it. We were like giant 5 year-olds who just had Coke and Sweet Tarts. It was ridiculous. I couldn't even pay attention to the line. One minute TK was standing with me, the next she was walking over to the next available CM and I was oblivious.

We were so excited to be placed in Jamaica! Tink and I had debated requesting that village, so we were really excited to receive it anyway.

FYI-Jamiaca is a great spot. While it's not a preferred location, it's about a 3 minute walk from almost any room, over the bride and the island, to Old Port Royale. The yellow/white/blue is also my favorite color scheme.

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Jennifer gave us both birthday buttons :yay: and we were off.

As TK mentioned, we were very skittish about "celebrating" our birthdays with pins, even though that really was what we were celebrating with each other (our birthdays are only a few days apart).

However, every single CM we spoke to about the buttons said that it was perfectly fine. While we did get a little special attention, it wasn't over the top.

And I'd also like to mention this - EVERYONE down there is wearing some sort of pin right now. EVERYONE. I was actually rather surprised. And one of the things that I thought was really nice was that if there was a family with two children and one of the kids was celebrating a birthday with a birthday pin, they gave the other child an "I'm Celebrating!" pin.

While I certainly wouldn't advocate asking for a pin for any ol' reason, if you do have something worth celebrating, go for it! Not only did it seem like the families were really enjoying it, the CMs seemed to like acknowledging people too.

You mean this smile???

http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee109/MRYPPNS/general%20dis/DSCN2181-1.jpg

:lmao:

And snortlaughing ensued.

I love that you and Tink have matching colors on for your trip. Very cute!

Yeah, we didn't realize that until we discussed our "travel outfits". Must've been the Force. :yoda:

I'm so glad to hear that you liked CBR. I've always been a bit nervous to try it because of the size.

Oh, don't be. It's big (believe me, I walked the whole thing more than once on my "morning walks") but it's gorgeous. And easy to get from Point A to Point B. The internal bus system, though we didn't use it, is pretty efficient too. Some of the locations are pretty remote, so you just need to know what to ask for. Really though, this resort really strikes the "RESORT" chord with me, much like the Poly did. I FELT like I was on vacation here. Not just staying at a hotel in Disney.

Girls only trips are the best. I am lucky enough to do about 1 a year, sometimes more between my gaggle of sisters/SIL's/mom and my college gourmet club. But never to the world! Still trying though, it's not dead...just postponed :)

When last we left our daring duo, they were off in search of generous libations.

Preferrably containing rum.

Pirates. pirate:pirate: ;)

Off to Old Port Royale we headed. I was in "let me take my time and soak it all in mode." Fortunately, Tink seems to operate in that mode on vacation in general. It's like an automatic switch with her. Let me just say right now, no matter what happened to us (ha ha ha) on this trip, that my dear Tink is a fantastic travel companion. She's go with the flow, but direct enough to express her own opinion. Quite frankly, we're a match made in heaven. :cloud9:

Now, on our way in search of where the rum had gone, we did end up stopping in OPR for a bit. I checked to make sure an old pass that I had was still valid, and Tink, I believe, had to add a day to hers. Once that was taken care of, the lure of fine Disney merchandising sucked us in.

Basically, we shopped. But only with our eyes.

And all too soon, we spotted it.

Something that screamed out to me. And said, BUY ME BUY ME BUY ME I WASMADEFORYOU!!!!!!!!!!!

I looked at Tink. :confused3

I looked at it.

I looked at Tink. :confused3

And I said, "Tink...I don't need another $50 hoodie."

And Tink said, "But you have to buy this. It was made for you." :rotfl2:

"But I can't buy another $50 hoodie." My resolve was weakening. Crumbling.

But I had other goals in mind. So you'll just have to wait and see how the battle of TK and the hoodie turned out later. ;)

I really loved a lot of the merchandise in the store. Honestly, between the pirate stuff and the variety of girly bags they had going on, I was just thrilled. Quite frankly, I've never seen so many bags that I acutally liked at Disney. Totes, purses, wallets. My, my!

I have some pictures from OPR that were actually taken another day, but since this is the first time we were here, I'll throw them in now.

http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll289/tarzanskat/WDWMay09-0862.jpg

I felt this sense of peace here. It's weird to say that I felt at peace in a store, but I did. This resort is so much my personality. I knew it when we visited it on my Sept 08 trip and I knew it now, being here with Tink. I was so glad we decided to stay here.

Well, we'd finally had our fill (no purchases yet), and we headed off in search of our ultimate purpose.

A fine drink and a good toast.

But we got distracted along the way by a photo op.

http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll289/tarzanskat/WDWMay09-0022-1.jpg

http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll289/tarzanskat/DSCN2185-1-2.jpg

We headed over to the pool bar, and ended up with the nommiest concotion I think I've tasted in many a moon.

The Pina Colava.

http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll289/tarzanskat/DSCN2186-1.jpg

Oh, my dear friends. Oh, how good this drink was. It deserves one word. Well, it deserves several, but if it had to be one, it would be NOM.

Nom, nom, nom. It was such a wonderful melding of flavors, the coconut, the bit of raspberry, and the rum. Oh, the rum. It would have made the good captain proud. So proud. Actually, my first taste was a bit potent, because I hadn't mixed it thoroughly and let's just say that our gracious bartender was not only gracious but generous. Bless her.

Tink was kind enough to buy our first drinks, (I know I'm backtracking here), and I had already planned a toast.

See, I was honored that Tink would stay at this particular resort with me. I don't know how many of you have read her trip / pre trip report from her Sept 08 trip, but if you haven't, let me tell you a little something about our dear girl. See, Tink had a grandmother who was very, very special to her. Who took her on trips to the World, and as a matter of fact, CBR was a place that they stayed together. If I remember correctly, it was the last place they stayed together, but I could be mistaken. Tink, correct me if I'm wrong. So, knowing that there could have been some emotions surfacing, I honestly felt honored that Tink would consider a stay here. I know I get a little misty when I walk past things at the World that remind me of my grandfather, never mind whether or not we stayed there together.

So my toast was all planned out.

We'd found a table over by these beautiful flowers,

http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll289/tarzanskat/WDWMay09-0782.jpg

and just sat looking at out at all that was the CBR courtyard, the pirate pool, the beautiful lake, the gorgeous sky...

http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll289/tarzanskat/WDWMay09-0042-1-1.jpg

http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll289/tarzanskat/DSCN2184-1.jpg

...and we toasted.

To her grandmother, and my grandfather. Who I know would both be very proud of us. And who, I entertained the notion, may have even been sharing a few laughs as well, just like we were.

It was a good toast. And a good way to start the trip.

How completely Providential that the last update you did involved Grandparents that were very dear to us, and in fact, had a LOT to do with our love of all things Disney. As you know, I have not been on the boards for a few weeks because my beloved Gramma passed away 3 weeks ago, resulting in an unexpected trip to the States.

It was hard and painful, but I have so many amazing memories of her- incredibly many of which involve going to Disneyland. I wish I could have been there with you toasting Gramma along with you. Perhaps maroo and I can add a toast to her when we arrive next year. I think that'd be a poignant thing to do.

Incidentally, while we were going through some of her things, I came across an AMAZING Disney relic of hers! I found a letter dated August, 1943 calling her in for an interview!!!! Can you believe it??!!! I've taken pix. and will do a post over on our PTR in a few days. It's on ancient Disney letterhead and everything! My love of Disney truly has bloodroots!!

Anyway, I'm playing TR catch up this week, and I fear it will take far more than that. Yikes! When I subbed to your reports, I truly wanted to be regular; I sure hope life will normalize now, and I can "visit" with you more often.

But at least you haven't gotten too far yet....;)

I want to multi-quote all over the place here but I'm so tired and have soooo much other DISness to catch up on, that I'm just gonna say that the pictures of you two crack me up....there's Tink's adorable smiling face, and there's TK's blacked-out Mickey head!!!:rotfl:

And I'm waiting with such anticipation for this little TR to continue....

Oh, and no, I'm quite sure no one from Florida goes to New England and takes a deep breath and sighs "Ahhh, New England air...". :confused3 Although I always did enjoy the smell of the ocean in Maine. It's different down here. Icy-cold water must just smell better.....:lmao:

Well, dang it woman! Don't go away for so long. :lmao:

In all seriousness, I missed you. I may have done a little happy dance when I saw your DIS name. ;)

You're right on that one. Granted it was a while ago, but Florida beaches do not have that certain ocean smell like up here. :thumbsup2

Okay, so you have made me decide that for my girls-only trip next year, we are totally staying at CBR! I love POR, but I need a change (the horror!)

Reflecting upon it now, I don't think I've ever been at a resort that was that quiet. And I mean that in the best possible way. No interior corridors, but I rarely if ever heard neighbors coming and going. It was so peaceful.

When last we left our daring duo, they were off in search of generous libations.

Preferrably containing rum.

Wait? You mean there is some other kind??? LOL

:cloud9:

Awwwww. Thanks, my friend.
I operate under the rule that when on vacation ENJOY your vacation. Likely it was slightly expensive, a long time coming and much needed. I won't waste a single second. Vacation for me always starts on vacation eve. Especially a Disney vacation. I open the floodgates and let the pressures of real life start to pour out so that by the time I arrive I can absorb every nuance and not feel pressured by "real life" or feel like I might be missing out on something.

And not to be outdone, TK is an excellent traveling partner. Though I knew she wasn't used to doing Disney "my way" (a.k.a. sans the stroller/hubby/family set) she adapted in, oh, about 4.6 seconds and was a pleasure to spend 4 days with. ::yes::

Basically, we shopped. But only with our eyes.

Do you understand how difficult this is to do??? It's a skill. And TK is much better at it than I am.

Something that screamed out to me. And said, BUY ME BUY ME BUY ME I WASMADEFORYOU!!!!!!!!!!!

No joke. I believe the sign above the hoodie said, "Place prominently so that TK will see and purchase me for I was made for her. And only her. In 4 sizes."

I looked at Tink. :confused3

I looked at it.

I looked at Tink. :confused3

And I said, "Tink...I don't need another $50 hoodie."

And Tink said, "But you have to buy this. It was made for you." :rotfl2:

I think what actually happened was we were browsing (again, hands and eyes only, no wallets...yet) and I rounded a stand that had some piratey merchandise. As I came around the backside of it, I saw a tee that I'd rued not getting on my Sept. trip (and ultimately didn't get on this trip either). I then spotted IT. THE hoodie that was made for TK in the same way my TINK hoodie was made for me. My eye was first drawn to it because it was pink. And my eyes are, at least initially, drawn to most things pink. (And that's all the detail you're getting on the hoodie for now.) And I eyed the front.
The sides.
When I turned it around, the deal was sealed, as they say. I said, "Hey Kat. You NEED this."
Then the exchange above took place.

And yes, I'm an enabler. Particularly when it comes to the PERFECT souvenir.

...

And any shoe-related purchase.

...

And NARS makeup.

AHEM.

"But I can't buy another $50 hoodie." My resolve was weakening. Crumbling.

She said this to me no less than 5 times in those 4 days. Every time we discussed/saw said hoodie.

Will this hoodie story have a happy ending????

The Pina Colava.

http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll289/tarzanskat/DSCN2186-1.jpg

:worship:

By way of a little backstory, we'd been planning our first drink in the World for, oh, 4 months now? LOL Honestly. We had perused and considered all of the drinks we could find on the Barefoot Bar menu. We hemmed and hawed. We even pretended like we'd just have a beer. Pssht. We knew. We knew it would be fruity and girlie and rum-my and NOM! We were SO looking forward to this drink. We knew that whatever we had would be good. But we didn't realize it would be Pina Colada with a raspberry swirl and a pineapple garnish good.

Actually, my first taste was a bit potent, because I hadn't mixed it thoroughly and let's just say that our gracious bartender was not only gracious but generous. Bless her.

We tipped her kindly.

It was, in fact, the last place we stayed together. It was our last trip together and, little did I know then, that she would be gone about 6 months later.

I worried that I would have a hard time staying there again. Not so much that I wanted to consider another resort, but it was in the back of my mind. When we arrived it was familiar, but in a comforting way. I wasn't sad. On our first morning I took a good, long morning walk and visited the village where I'd stayed on that last trip. Found the pool we'd played at. The little courtyard we'd sat in, close to our room. Those moments were a little bittersweet...but I get ahead of myself here.

Back to the present.

Er. Past.

Um, fairly recent history.

...and we toasted.

To her grandmother, and my grandfather. Who I know would both be very proud of us. And who, I entertained the notion, may have even been sharing a few laughs as well, just like we were.

It was a good toast. And a good way to start the trip.

It wasn't just good. It was perfect.

And that's all I have to say about that. :goodvibes

I also just turned 30... nothing has fallen off yet, I'm still waiting :lmao:

:lmao:

There really should be a snortlaugh smiley at this point.

I always seem to find myself up north in Jan. The response is more like, "YIKES! Cold, dry northern air!" :rotfl:

I can usually make it through January but February is the worst - when it seems winter will NEVER end and everything is really just an icy, frigid mess.

::sigh::

Remind me again why I haven't moved somewhere warmer???

Dude, they're pushing pins like crack! I was offered pins to celebrate something - ANYthing! - no less than 5 times over the long weekend.

"You found the Ladies Room?! Yay! Have a pin!"

"You made it a third of the way around the WS while getting only moderately wasted?! Yay! Have a pin!"

"You did not remove that lobster-colored infant with no hat or sunblock from their parents 'care' and run away screaming?! No pin for you. Come back 3 months."

That last one is an unfortunate Disney memory. Sometimes I think there is a common sense-based test you should have to pass before you procreate. But I digress...

As you know, I have not been on the boards for a few weeks because my beloved Gramma passed away 3 weeks ago, resulting in an unexpected trip to the States.

Wow! That's pretty amazing! And very special. And was meant for you to find. :goodvibes

And I'm waiting for my dear Tink who is actually on a little bit of a vacay this week. I think the next chapter's hers.

Ahhhhh, yes. Vacation. That blessed event that removes you from the 9-5 scene. I've been sparse, I know, but my sanity needed it, believe me.

I only have to upload and resize some pics for the next chapter. Writing it should be easy. I've been looking forward to it. However, I can't promise it will happen before the holiday. We have some plans over the next few days and I'm not sure I can properly write the chapter in the time I have. If I can, believe me I'll get that baby up there. If not, it will be Monday or Tuesday of next week. :goodvibes

Reflecting upon it now, I don't think I've ever been at a resort that was that quiet. And I mean that in the best possible way. No interior corridors, but I rarely if ever heard neighbors coming and going. It was so peaceful.

No kidding. I think part of it was the location of the room (I'll share that in the next chapter) but honestly, the resort itself is just sooooooo low-key. I know that my morning walks are taken early enough that ANY resort (even POP!) would be quiet, but no matter what time of the day we were returning to the room it was to a sense of peace.

It is a COACH wristlet as TK confirmed. This is a better view of it (only with white leather rather than teal):

However, bad news. I can't find it online anymore. You might be able to luck out if there is a COACH outlet near you or with eBAY (though I hate wondering if what I'm getting is REALLY real). The style name is Hampton.

If I wasn't so attached to mine I'd give it to you. :goodvibes

I tried the bigger bag this time around (you'll see it later as it was a trip purchase) and I did ok with it. But really, I also do just fine with my wristlet. It's big enough for the things I tote with me to the parks:
-camera
-cell phone
-cash/cards
-headache meds

However, I'm also not traveling with a family, namely children, so I can see how that would be a BIG factor.

OK, folks, now for the slightly disappointing news. I'm on tap for the next chapter(s), which includes our room, getting ready and then dinner and what came after. However, I'm having trouble with Photobucket and I think it has to do with my work computer. My plan was to post the first part of the chapter anyway and then do a photo chapter but given a big part of the first chapter is room pics, I don't think that will work. So, I'm going to upload from my home PC tonight and I'll post everything for the first part of the chapter first thing tomorrow morning. The second chapter with dinner should be shortly thereafter.

Sorry for keeping you waiting. Feel free to stop by my work and assault my PC. ::yes::

When we last left our beautiful, intelligent, impeccably dressed, pirate-loving heroines...

Well, they were consuming rum beverages. Who's surprised?

I know TK discussed the NOM-iness of those beverages. And I even corroborated on that. But, as that's where we're picking up from, let me further extol the fruity-rumm-y virtues of the Pina Colava.
It's NOMtastic.
NOMtacular.
NOMmerific.
Just. NOM.

We sat at our umbrella table, watching the World go by, excited that we would soon be able to get into our room, but really in no huge rush to do so. The pool was hopping. The pool bar was hopping. In summary, there were lots of people hopping (not literally) out and about with their Disney happy on.

Except for the guy on his cell phone at the table behind us.

He wasn't bothering us in any way, and it wasn't that we were eavesdropping, it just became kind of noticeable that while his family came and went from the table, he was married to his cell phone dealing with what sounded like a big concern. I hate that. I feel bad for people like that. Vacations are meant to be relaxing escapes. It's unfortunate when everyday life comes barging on in. Let's go back to the time when cell phones and Blackberries didn't exist. When your boss, heck, when your PROBLEMS couldn't find you while you sat under an umbrella'd table, enjoying an adult beverage while your kids frolicked in the pool.

In the meantime, TK and I RE.LAXED. I don't know that we actually said it out loud, but I think the stresses of home started to melt away with every sip of our drinks. Or maybe we're just lushes. Don't judge. LOL We talked about everything and nothing. Disney and home. Past, present and future.

One thing we haven't mentioned yet was the weather. It was hot, but not unbearably so, breezy and the clouds had been rolling in since our arrival. It wasn't raining (yet) and the sun was still in attendance, but we were both sure there may be impending weather to be had.

I finished my drink first (not without a few cold headaches, I assure you, but that puppy was so good I just kept sucking it down!). And though it had only been maybe an hour since we'd checked in I asked Kat if she wanted to give the handy dandy little "Is-my-room-ready?" number a call and see if we could get into our digs.

She dialed.
They answered.
She waited.

SCORE!

We were given our room assignment in Jamaica (I warn you, it's dangerous, you start singing 'Kokomo' in your head as soon as you head over) and I did a little seat dance.
Or did I?

I let Kat finish her drink (I still can't believe how much alcohol was in those - certainly enough to notice but not enough to be overly obnoxious to my taste buds) because it would've been a crime to let a single drop go wasted and then we sallied forth. Over the river and through the woods to our Jamaica building we went.

Ok, maybe it was by the pool.
Over a bridge.
Through an island.
Over another bridge.
And along a lake.
We went.

If you've never been to CBR or taken a look at a map of the resort there are a few things you should know:
1. It's a BIG resort.
B. It's roughly oval...ish.
III. When looking at it on a map, it's easy to think things are much farther away than they appear.

Now, TK had mentioned that when we checked in we'd been assigned to Jamaica, which we were pretty excited about getting without having asked for it. Why? Because Jamaica is one of the locations that's close enough to be like a "Preferred Location" without paying for a "Preferred Location". The "Preferred" buildings are located in Martinique and Trinidad North. They sit on either side of Old Port Royale and it is, for most rooms, a stone's throw to center town.

However.

If you cross the island over to the other side of the resort's "oval", you will immediately find yourself either in Jamaica or Aruba. The walk takes an entire 2 minutes. So, unless you can't do inclines (one of the bridges is a tad steep), at the most from the furthest room you'd have a 5 minute, relaxing and beautiful walk to OPR.

Hey, you know what? I'm all about visuals. Here, take a look for yourself.

http://i584.photobucket.com/albums/ss284/tkrbllarlla/untitled.jpg

Our room was in Building 42 on the ground floor. See that little courtyard looking area where Buildings 41, 42 and 43 meet? Well it didn't just look like a courtyard, it was one. That our room happened to face. This room:

http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll289/tarzanskat/WDWMay09-0522.jpg

(Ok, except it obviously wasn't decorated yet.)

And let me just tell you, for such a big resort with so many rooms and, obviously, so many people, we Never. Heard. A. Peep.
It was lovely.

Let's venture on in, shall we?

When we opened the door, I'm happy to report there were no unpleasant surprises - no luggage belonging to other guests, no other guests, no funny smells (...yet) and it was already a rather comfortable temperature. Since my camera was already out and ready to go, I took on room picture duty, you know, before we destroyed it with all of our girlie things.

The "seating" area. To be honest, once we got our luggage and over the next few days this became the "let's throw it all THERE" area.

http://i584.photobucket.com/albums/ss284/tkrbllarlla/DSCN2194.jpg

The beds. And if it's REALLY crucial to your DIS survival to know - I slept close to the door, TK slept close to the bathroom. I really don't even want to know what Freud might make of that.

http://i584.photobucket.com/albums/ss284/tkrbllarlla/DSCN2187.jpg

This cute little dude was waiting for us on the nightstand. He stood watch over the remote...and the phone...and the clock...and our glasses. Our brave, fluffy, sentinel.
(TK, I took the pen. I didn't know if you knew.)

http://i584.photobucket.com/albums/ss284/tkrbllarlla/DSCN2189.jpg

The bureau and TV. The bottom right cabinet holds the fridge.

http://i584.photobucket.com/albums/ss284/tkrbllarlla/DSCN2195.jpg

The fridge.

http://i584.photobucket.com/albums/ss284/tkrbllarlla/DSCN2196.jpg

Which held THE SMELL. We didn't find this out until the next morning (or was it later that day? I can't really recall...) when TK ran to OPR to get us milk for our cereal. And I opened the fridge. And promptly shriveled up and died. I'm not kidding you. It smelled like someone had brought home a leftover fish platter, put it in the fridge, unplugged the fridge and left it there for oh, say 6 weeks. Funny, it was bad enough that when Kat asked me if it was really THAT bad and I said, "You come over here and smell it!" with a mortified look on my face and my hand covering my mouth and nose from the offending odor that she said, "No. I believe you." Smart girl.

We never complained about the fridge. It really wasn't that important to us (we used the ice bucket as a makeshift cooler for the milk). Plus I didn't want that door opened again while I was within 1,200mi. of Orlando. I only hope that it was cleaned after we left and that no small children or woodland creatures died in its presence.

The "seat/hook" area (NOCapt.HOOK). Not just pretty to look at! It was functional! There is storage space IN the seat (which we didn't use). We hung everything we could possibly hang on those hooks by the end of the week and used the seat for packages. I don't remember sitting on it. If I did, it obviously didn't make an impression. LOL

http://i584.photobucket.com/albums/ss284/tkrbllarlla/DSCN2190.jpg

The exterior bathroom shot (with the hairdryer on the wall. A laughable hairdryer. TK can speak to its inefficiency.)

http://i584.photobucket.com/albums/ss284/tkrbllarlla/DSCN2191.jpg

Now. Let me just say. TK and I came with baggage. Of the toiletry kind. And there was plenty of space for ALL of our stuff on that vanity.
Not pictured, to the right of the vanity is an open closet area with shelves and a rod and never enough hangers. The room safe is also over there.

I also apparently didn't get a better shot of the interior bathroom than this:

http://i584.photobucket.com/albums/ss284/tkrbllarlla/DSCN2197.jpg

No gratuitous toilet shot for you. Just the shower.

But let me tell you something nice about that shower. Where the tub ends on the left there is a shelf. A shelf that held ALL of our collective shower-y things. I heart-ed that shelf. And see the pretty jungle design on the shower wall? Nice. I felt like I was showering in the Amazon. Maybe.

Once all of the room shots were done, I called Bell Services to bring our luggage. We'd been warned it could take an upwards of 40 minutes, so we didn't want to risk having to get ready for our special evening dinner in a rush.

The luggage took 3.2 minutes. And that might be too long of an estimation. Which was pretty impressive since it was 3-ish and check-in time.

We started unpacking and then we exchanged gifts. Each of us had gotten a little sumpn-sumpn for the other.
And all of it was great.
And all of it was very much 'personalized'.
And I have a picture of none of it. (TK, we might want to get on that, if I can find where I put everything...)

But suffice it to say it was wonderful.

It then took me approximately 6.5 years to decorate our window. Since I apparently couldn't come to terms with the fact that my screenname would, in fact, take up the ENTIRE upper portion of the window.

::sigh::

But no, simply putting TINK would not have sufficed.

By the by, all of the window decorations were bought at the dollar store. For a whopping total of $4. Score!

So, what do you do now that you're in Disney and checked into your room and have consumed an inaugural beverage and unpacked?

Why you EAT of course!

What an awesome update, Tink! I love the description of the drinks. I only have one question, though:

I can has a nommy drink, too?

CBR looks like a beautiful resort. We'll have to try it one day. For now, though, I think I've found a little corner of home at POR. (Or maybe just because it's the least expensive choice for a family of five. I'll never elaborate).

And as for the Pina Colavas? Rum makes everything better, doesn't it? (Don't tell Grumpy Pirate I said that, though)

I only have one question, though:

I can has a nommy drink, too?

::yes:: Amanda can haz nommy drink.

CBR looks like a beautiful resort.

No joke, I could wax poetic on how much I love this resort. And what's funny is I don't think I truly realized it until this past visit. I can see how some people might be put off, on the sheer size alone, but I'm partial with my grammy memories and a love for most things pastel. :goodvibes

And as for the Pina Colavas? Rum makes everything better, doesn't it?

Lemme tell you, for something with THAT much alcohol (I think the bartender tipped the rum bottle a little longer when she saw that we were celebrating) to taste that good to me (I don't care for the taste of alcohol itself) you KNOW it was good!

FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hm. Expectant, were we?

So would you say that your Pina Colavas were, perhaps, the Happiest NOM Ever? Or some variety thereof?!

I would say it's part of my trifecta of "Best Disney Things Imbibed Through a Straw", the remaining of which are a Dole Whip Float and an Italian Margarita.

Hey - BF and I were watching TV last night, though for the life of me I can't recall what we were watching, and this lady came on the screen and I exclaimed and pointed, "OHMYGOD I THINK THAT'S LEGOMOM!!!"
Obviously, it wasn't.
But it made me smile.
And it made BF do an internet search for straightjackets.

So, in reading your post, I am led to believe that I should request a room in Jamaica for our October trip? I want a nice relaxing, somewhat short walk to that pool bar! :lmao:

Jamaica or Aruba. Trinidad South isn't too bad but some of the rooms would be a longer walk. Truthfully, all of the villages have their high points, which I'll get into with my morning walks, but really, if you don't want to pay the higher price for 'Preferred' request one of those two. As you can see, we were one of the furthest Jamaica buildings away from the bridge/island and it was still maybe 5 minutes.

I just hope we don't get the room with the fridge! :scared:

It was atrocious. Really. If it had been more important we'd have requested it be swapped out but we closed up the door and forgot about it.

Oh! And we took a picture, just for you, that will appear in the next chappie.

Your Looking forward to see where you eat.

Really, to be honest, there isn't much we DIDN'T eat. Some days I think I'm still full.

When we last left our beautiful, intelligent, impeccably dressed, pirate-loving heroines...

Well, they were consuming rum beverages. Who's surprised?

:confused3

I feel bad for the poor guy. I refuse to make myself available to anything work related when I'm vacation. I pretend it just doesn't exist.

We were given our room assignment in Jamaica (I warn you, it's dangerous, you start singing 'Kokomo' in your head as soon as you head over) and I did a little seat dance.

You can use the whole song for CBR. Aruba, Jamacia, ohhh

Ok, maybe it was by the pool.
Over a bridge.
Through an island.
Over another bridge.
And along a lake.
We went.

That just doesn't sing as well does it?

Hey, you know what? I'm all about visuals. Here, take a look for yourself.

I like that the most important part of the resort is clearly marked here.

[QUOTE=Tinkerbellarella;32632058]The "seating" area. To be honest, once we got our luggage and over the next few days this became the "let's throw it all THERE" area.

I think it's impossible to keep that area neat. I try for the first day or so, and then just give up.

But let me tell you something nice about that shower. Where the tub ends on the left there is a shelf. A shelf that held ALL of our collective shower-y things. I heart-ed that shelf. And see the pretty jungle design on the shower wall? Nice. I felt like I was showering in the Amazon. Maybe.

You know what's funny? Since we got our new cats, dh has started to speak in lolcat, as well. It's really hilarious.

Our cats have had "purrsonalities" since I got them and they've gotten stronger since BF moved in a couple of years back, so, we tend not to lolspeak with them, although I do a lot of it on the DIS. Go figure.

I feel bad for the poor guy. I refuse to make myself available to anything work related when I'm vacation. I pretend it just doesn't exist.

That was my rule for this vacation. Otherwise, because I have remote access, sometimes I get sucked in. I'm getting better about saying no though.

You can use the whole song for CBR. Aruba, Jamacia, ohhh

We'll get there fast and then we'll take it slow. THAAAAAT's where we wanna gooooo. Way down to Kokomo.

Ok, now that's stuck in my head.

But that's ok because it replaces Sweet Caroline.
Which replaced Pink's Please Don't Leave Me.
Which replaced Katy Perry's Vegas song.

As you can see I've had stuff stuck in my head all day.

I like that the most important part of the resort is clearly marked here.

Well you can see where our priorities lie that afternoon. LOL

I think it's impossible to keep that area neat. I try for the first day or so, and then just give up.

I do better on solo trips but I think Kat and I enabled each other to have a sloppy table! HA!

Have you tried the Grey Goose Slushie in France yet? It's one to add to your list. Hmmm, and I must add the Italian Margarita to mine. Intriguing......

I've not yet been brave enough to try that slushie, though I've come close on two occasions. If I really had to rate the alcoholic drinks that I've had, the Italian Margarita would be my #1. It's a tad expensive but it's a good size serving and it's SOOOOO worth it!

Yes, it's a "Nemo" room and you're right, all non-pirate rooms are "Nemo" rooms.

How close were you to a bus stop??

Looking at the map that I posted you can see on the bottom-right-ish area the bus icon. That's the nearest bus stop and while it looks far, at the most it's a 2-3 minute walk, if that. And it's a "flat" walk, no hills, across the parking lot(s). The maps really don't do the resort justice. It's all a lot closer than it seems.

That is, without a doubt, one of my favorite things about this resort. No interior corridors, like WL, but just as quiet. I loved the quiet.:thumbsup2

The beds. And if it's REALLY crucial to your DIS survival to know - I slept close to the door, TK slept close to the bathroom. I really don't even want to know what Freud might make of that.

Hmph. You just had to share that, huh?

Well, if you must know. The reason that I always default to the bed near the bathroom is because it's the closest to the wall. Usually I end up with DS in my bed, so we put him on the side near the wall, and line the whole floor with pillows in case he rolls over and falls out. Now that he's older it's not so much of an issue, but the habit has stuck. Take that, Frued.
:lmao:

(TK, I took the pen. I didn't know if you knew.)

I didn't know, but that's cool. I have a zillion WDW pens at home. :goodvibes

Funny, it was bad enough that when Kat asked me if it was really THAT bad and I said, "You come over here and smell it!" with a mortified look on my face and my hand covering my mouth and nose from the offending odor that she said, "No. I believe you." Smart girl.

Which if anything, should be a testament to how much I love you, to take you so readily at your word that I don't even need to experience it for myself! ;)

Honestly, I don't think we discovered that until later in the day, or even the next day.

YAY an update!!!! I just love your window decorations!!!!! YAY for small pressies and great drinks and a great room!!! The room is so colorful!!!

Can't wait to hear all about dinner!!!

Thanks! Looking forward to the dinner chapter too so I can relive it! :cloud9:

ACK, I completely missed this update!

It wasn't raining (yet) and the sun was still in attendance, but we were both sure there may be impending weather to be had.
:rolleyes1 I'm not saying a thing. ;)

And I opened the fridge. And promptly shriveled up and died.
And what room was this again? I'd like to avoid it in 2 weeks, please. :scared:

The "seat/hook" area (NOCapt.HOOK). Not just pretty to look at! It was functional!
THIS is why CBR is my favorite mod. resort. For real. I love hooks!

That seating area was awesome. Not only did it become a convenient catch all, I was able to...um...hang...things from said hooks.

Yeah.

We'll talk about those later. ;)

During which I enjoyed a good chuckle. It was so funny to watch her try to fit her name up there and then realize it was so long she had to really use the whole upper portion of the window. I enjoyed unpacking to the sounds of Stacy and Tink and their running commentaries. :lmao:

I actually think, if I remember correctly, it took me 4 tries before I got it all to fit. Using all available horizontal window space.

Are you taking the dinner chapter?

Si.

I thought so.

You reading my mind again?

Also, let me know what food art you need from me, I can't remember if we both have pics, or they're separate.

I do believe I have it all.

I may have squealed in delight and then laughed hysterically. ;)

True that. And I believe, shortly thereafter, we succumbed to our grumbling tummies.

Now that Tink made us such a pretty window decoration so inexpensively, I'm seriously debating this for future trips. Tink, did you use regular scotch tape, I can't remember?

Regular scotch tape.

So sorry to hear about the fridge smell. slightly disturbed that it went unreported.

It was definitely later in the day and we needed to solve the "how to keep the milk cold for now" issue first. Which we did with the ice bucket, no prob. I think after that (until now) we simply forgot.

Normally I'll report things like this but even though we were relaxed our minds were on a million other things.

I only vaguely remember only being responsible for myself. How relaxing that sounds.

Well, when I'm left responsible for other people, I end up putting away their Disney character crayons in a specific, anal retentive, rainbow colored order.

Ask TK's DS. Even HE gave me a funny look. LOL

Yuck on the fridge!?! You guys are so easy going. I think I would have called the front desk on that one.

Like I said, in and out of the mind.

Can't wait to hear all about dinner!!!

I can't wait to look at the pictures. AGAIN. LOL

:lmao: Tink doesn't have kids and she seems to have a pretty good idea. Well, she does have cats.

Cats = Kids that can't speak English. Entirely too frustrating sometimes.

And what room was this again? I'd like to avoid it in 2 weeks, please. :scared:

4217? Not sure if that's right. It's off the top of my head. I can't seem to put my hands on my trip notebook today.

You make it sound so BAD. LOL

A drink in a quiet place with a good friend and with no cares sounds like a little piece of true relaxation. Ahhhh!

I'm convinced this is how all vacations should start.

Drink, preferrably rum. Good company, preferabbly as Disney obsessed as you are. A quiet place, the resort of your choice.

Ahhhh..... :cloud9:

I'm so in! And since I'm planning my own no-kids, girlfriend, surprise (to my BFF) trip in December, I'm taking notes. We're staying at OKW, but I've already written down to start with a relaxing drink, preferably with rum! ;)

I'm having sooo much fun planning a trip that she has no idea about and that I will present her with triumphantly on her birthday, December 12. (And we'll be there 7 days later!)

When I was in preschool (yes I remember back to preschool, can't remember what happened yesterday but I can remember when I was in preschool!!) my best friend at the time used to sing that song constantly, we didn't actually know all the words so we just started making stuff up!! I love how you kept it a secret, very sneaky!! I've never stayed at CBR but it seems like a nice resort!! And those drinks look amazing!! Can't wait to read more!!

When last we left our daring duo, they were daring. They were a duo.

Perhaps, they were even...a hungry duo.

You know what, forget that, we were starving! Tink and I enjoyed our room, got settled and decided to get ready for dinner. But we weren't just going to tidy up a bit, oh no. We were going to be schnazzy.

Say it with me. Schna-zzy. :thumbsup2

I'd even bought a special dress for the occasion. No joke. TK in a dress. Not a pirate one, people. A very schnazzy dress. From...where else? Kohl's. And it was on sale! And for how good it looked on, it should have been a sin, that price. I love Kohl's. Anyway, we were getting ourselves all purdied up and although we were quite, quite early, we decided to head out. I must say, we looked quite good in all our finery.

http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll289/tarzanskat/DSCN2202.jpg - I love this photo of Tink. She's beautiful and radiating I am happy and relaxed.

http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll289/tarzanskat/DSCN2203-1.jpg - Something about that Mickey head with that dress seems wrong. Very, very wrong. :lmao:

And if you know where we are when these photos were taken, keep it to yourself. I'm working up the element of surprise here. ;)

We made our way over to the bus stop, and waited...not too long, I think...for the Magic Kingdom bus. From there, we took the monorail to the Grand Floridian, but not before Tink snapped a few photos.

http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll289/tarzanskat/DSCN2199.jpg

http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll289/tarzanskat/DSCN2200.jpg

We did a little shop/browse and I purchased a little sumpin' for a certain DISer who shall remain nameless. You know who you are, and I was so excited when I found that for you! :goodvibes

I wandered (with Tink LOL) over into Basin and I must say, I loved it!!! My journal says, "Can I take half the store?" And that's honestly how I felt. At this point, I was so hungry, I didn't trust myself to shop judiciously. Not in that store. Tink and I decided we would come back another time at really get our shop on.

And just so you know that I do think of you all at random moments, I looked at the Mickey head soap and immediately thought of you, CP. I could even picture in my mind the photo you posted on your trip report of that particular souvie. Nuts, huh? I'm so visual, it's amazing what triggers me. :goodvibes

Now, before we'd left the hotel, we decided to put our birthday buttons on our purses. Boy, did we get lots of happy birthdays, and not just from cast members, from other guests as well!

When we were leaving Basin, the CM wished us a happy birthday, and as I thanked her, I said, don't worry, we'll be back! A prevalent theme amongst guests wishing us a happy birthday was jokingly asking us if we were 18...or turning 21...again. I just laughed. Tease all you want, people. I'm celebrating my birthday with my dearest friend who's also celebrating her birthday. My dear DIS twin, Tink. It was really a wonderful feeling.

Hunger is ruling us both at this point. We're trying our best to kill time before dinner, but we're not entirely succeeding. Apparently, a Cadbury chocolate bar, some airplane snack food, and two Pina CoLavas does not sustain us. :lmao:

Back onto the monorail we head to our destination. Which I will not yet reveal. pirate:

I do have to say, we tried to kill some more time in the shops in this hotel, when we spotted something so wonderful. So amazing. So awesome that it threw me into a fit of giggles, whereupon I exclaimed, "TINK! You have to take a picture of this for Jackie and tell her that her husband needs to buy it."

CP, in light of our recent MNSSHP convos, I find this to be absolutely hilarious.

http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll289/tarzanskat/DSCN2201.jpg

So, know, my dear, that you were thought of not once, but twice this evening. :thumbsup2

Eventually, we can't kill anymore time. Hunger has us in its evil grasp. We decide to take our chances and head over to the restaurant early in case we can get in.

Up Next - Where are we eating?
