Itinerary looks good, though, I"ll admit, you have quite a bit more hang out at the resort time than I would have. But all you've been through these last weeks/months, you are going to need it!! HA! By the time I'm done, my trip may end up looking a lot more like yours! :rotfl2:

The "down time" almost always gets filled up. I'm hoping to spend more time just relaxing and seeing WDW from a different perspective. At least that's the plan.

Alot will depend on the weather. If it's cold then Typhoon Lagoon will be out. We'll have to try and figure something else to do with those slots.

My "nieces and nephew" brought me leftovers since I didn't make it to Thanksgiving. I'm set for the next 2-3 days......mmmmmm.....

Looks like it's another west coasters/ half way around the world hang out night/day.

AWww, that's so nice of them to do that. Now you can pork out on real Txgiving Day fare. Not that I"d have traded a taco for turkey any day.

That's what happens when you sleep most of the day...:)

I am getting hungry right now. I may have a piece of pie.

I know! Been there, done that.

Not to start the great pie debate, but I hope you're having pecan, which, by the way, is king of pies. Apple is a close second, but has to have crumble topping.

I love pecan, but not alot of people in this area are loving it.

I had a piece of pumpkin earlier..I might go for apple or I might go to bed

After eating way too much Thanksgiving food, a taco sounds lovely.

Love the picture of you sleeping with the dog! :lmao:

Hurray for Wendy and fam having airline tickets now! Let the real planning begin, right?

I always order the cobb salad. The first time I ate there I had the most wonderful meal EVER. Salmon Polenta...but they have since taken it off the menu. I think I am going to ask them if they could still possibly make it for me in January. They said it would all depend on the chef. Fingers crossed!

I think we're going to Original Pancake House for a late breakfast then perhaps a movie.

I woke up after she took the 2nd one.

I spent most of the day yesterday fine tuning the itineraries. Surprisingly, they haven't changed a ton since the first draft.

Is a fine tune an itinerary version? ;)

Also, I was remembering that Jen and I both ordered the corn bisque or something like that (I know it's still on the menu) last time and it was DELISH. We asked for the spicy oil to be left off of it and they were able to do that. So delicious.

Thanks!

Del taco is usually my fast food of choice.

I slept on and off all day. I plan I'm going to stay with tomorrow and Saturday as well.

I bet you can relate. It jacks up the price of vacation significantly.

How was your Turkey day.

It was lovely, crazy busy but lovely! I'm still finishing up the dishes, bleh!

Yeah, airfare for 6 is just a lot of $$, no matter what you do!

Yay for leftovers! We don't have very many, I upped the size of the turkey to a bird I couldn't lift without help and still have very little leftover!

I know! Been there, done that.

Well then none of my famous apple pie for you missy! It has sharp cheddar cheese in the crust....which was a lattice top this year, I've never done that before but it was Evan's idea and I have to stay, I'm sticking with it from now on!

Besides I think there is only 1 piece left anyways which will be gone before I wake tomorrow I am quite sure. :goodvibes

Yuck. I think doing dishes is my least favorite chore to do, probably because that was my chore growing up.

Sometimes I'm glad it's just me.

Wow! I'm getting a mental picture in my head--probably funnier than it actually was....:)

I miss my Grandpa's fresh apple pie. I remember the last time he made it too. It was in 1974 for Thanksgiving. He was an executive chef and he made the best apple pie. I miss him.

I had to iron. Which explains why we just had wrinkled linens...and I didn't care! The lifting the turkey was actually hysterical. Somehow I misplaced/tossed/lost all my turkey trussers and rather than run to the store for just that, the thing was pinned together with shiskabob skewers. which worked...but caught on the pan when we were trying to lift it up. Poor thing looked like FrankenTurkey.

I hear you on missing folks at holidays. I really missed my little brother. Who was just in Portland, it was his first Thanksgiving without his kids and he felt it would be harder to be here which I totally get. Thanksgiving is "my" holiday in our clan and he's my kitchen buddy, my potato masher, gravy taster etc. It's our thing in the kitchen and where many of our best conversations happen. We work incredibly well in there together and I really felt his absence yesterday.

Sometimes NOT being with family on Thanksgiving is better than being with them. Especially if they are nagging you the entire time. Seriously, last year I had a tofurkey with friends, set the kitchen on fire, and gave leftovers to homeless people. It was WAY better than this year.

So, hopefully you enjoyed that Del Taco and football!! Glad you can finally solidify your plans. Your dining choices look yummy. Have you been to Sanaa before?

Good new plans Jordan. Down time on vacation is always a plus.
I am not a guy but I will come to your defense on the Twilight/New Moon stuff. Never read em/seen em never will. And I am not thinking there is much hotness involved either. I am ready for all of the ladies to kick me out of the club now.....

This makes two of us Mary, I've never read or seen Twilight/New Moon. I'm sure to be kicked out of the girls club now. No intrest there for me either...But! I don't deny or judge anyone else to like it! ;)
As a Disney lover I find myself not in position to look down at others for liking something that doesn't always make sense to the others who don't. :rotfl:

You and my hubby both....except we live in Texas, so he eats Taco Cabana instead. :guilty:
DH use to live in Southern Cali too, the Palm Springs area is where he grew up, he loves that your favorite place is Del Taco.
Personally it's so not my fav. place to eat fast food in Cali, my fav. is........
In and Out baby! Now that's a place to get good fast food!

Since my DH is a car guy (he and his dad are building a kit cobra) I always get him one of the T-shirt's In and Out sell's with the classic cars on them when ever we're there. He just bought the new one while he was there for a recent visit.

But I know after 30-45 minutes of walking I am going to start hearing it! So we may spring for a double this year which I am not happy about. They should have just left the strollers alone.

Not on here much anymore but wanted to at least do a quick drive by hi:car:
We won't be going back to Disney any time soon.

The strollers look the same pretty much except they are a little shorter from top to bottom as well as front to back. The nose doesn't stick out as far, which I'm sure will be good for people's heels. But DS went from having room to grow to no room at all.

Please, lets do! Never smelled anything worse in my life - and I love cheese! We go to a Christmas ornament exchange party every year, and a couple years ago someone decided to play a joke. I just started your tr today. I mostly lurked on your last reports. I am about halfway through. When I was 16 I went to Indonesia on a missions trip and they eat odd animals there too. Your market pictures of the butchers were actually a lot cleaner then the ones we went to. They eat the same animals in there as they do in China and one day we saw a stray walking by the dining room of the place we were staying and one of the natives was walking behind it. Moments later we heard a yelp and looked out the window and the dog was no where to be seen. The native however now had a stuffed bag instead of an empty one. :scared1: We only had squaters all summer until we got to Bali for the last week. In Bali they had normal toilets as it is so touristy. Anyways I am loving your report. It is laugh out loud funny and makes me cry too. Perfect reading!!!!

i'm probably not going to sleep in too late, but since I have my own room for both portions of my trip, I plan on getting some deep and uninterrupted sleep--that is IF the mousekeepers don't come in too early.Put the Do Not Disturb sign on the door the night before. That is what we do.:thumbsup2

SHOE!!!!!!!!!!

I've seen some of your updates on FB...

I miss you but understand!

IF you can swing it, 2012 Peep Fest for my 50th!That would be fun. We'll have to see. That should be my first year teaching so it may be hard to take the time off.:sad1:

I'll try and stop by from time to time. I'll also see ya on FB:hug:

Now hearing the stray meeting his maker would freak me out. Your story is kinda gross, but funny at the same time.

Don't miss the squatties that's for sure!

I'm glad the TR is funny and tearful at the same time....

I've actually done that before and they still come in at 8am?!!!

If you're on a regular school year, you should be fine as we're not going until mid-June. I have some friends out here that are interested in going, but can't pull their kids out of school. It'll be hot, but the company will make it worth it.

Tacos sound good....we always have to eat two dinners on Thanksgiving because my parents and my in-laws don't live very far away from each other....and the cooks don't like it if you just eat a little.

I run away every time I see brazilian thongs being worn. An excellent policy my friend. As to the previously mentioned tacos, I prefer Taco Bell for crunchy, or Taco Cabana for Fajita tacos. We don't have a Del Taco down this way so I've never had the pleasure. Unfortunately I don't get to partake that often due to First Lady Biscuit's policy concerning my intake of all things spicy and bean laden. Which upon reflection, I must admit is a wise policy indeed.

Edited to add: 68 Days left, but only 11 pages of space remaining. Sounds like it's time to enact Peeps II - Volume II.

Chapter 54. Winding up Volume 1.

We are coming up on the end of this part of the PTR. As most, if not all, of you know, threads are closed at 250 pages. I've got about 11 pages to go...

If you've read any of my previous PTR/TRs, you know I usually end each part or volume by reflecting on what has transpired. This installment won't be much different.

I started this bad boy out on or around May 31st. It's been a crazy summer! One filled with church drama, working too much, getting sick too much, being on the DIS too much....;)

What started out as a normal WDW trip has quickly become a trip with several DISer longtime friends coming on down!!!!:cloud9:

I've made stronger connections with my longtime DIS buddies and managed to make quite a few new ones along the way. While I turn first to my faith when in times of great sadness or stress, I often found myself relying on the folks here for a listening ear-so to speak.

Thanks to all of you for your continued support and friendship. I hope you'll continue to follow along as I go to Volume II!!!!!

Since I am in the reflective mood, I am thinking about that last full day at WDW that I will have on Wednesday, Feb 17th. I know people always discuss first day activities and traditions, but I don't see many people talk about end of the trip traditions. What are your end of trip traditions?

I have that whole last day open after lunch and am open to ideas. I know I have a few things I normally do on the last day. I'm hoping to do at least one of them, but we'll see.....Maybe if you haven't been enough times to have traditions yet, what would you do with a day to yourself? Where would eat? where would you go?

Thanks to Blueyed Girl for hightlighting parts of one of her updates and gave me the idea to do the same here. She has a PTR going. Hop on over and say hi to her!

Love the stroller parking picture. :lmao: I'm always amazed at the vast number of strollers - I think the Fantasyland Parking is the absolute worst. And what makes it even harder is the CMs MOVE your stroller. I want to rig a machine that will send up a flare so I can find the thing....

Anyway, last day traditions. We don't have any, but I have to say dipping into MK for lunch and hitting some rides that are favorites, or were missed, was a really great way to end one of our trips. It made leaving a tad less painful because we had one last good-bye that same day we flew out.

That's an interesting observation about online friends not having to deal with the day-to-day r/t concerns of our lives...hmmm never thought of that.

DTD used to be an end of trip tradition, but it got to be too frenzied. So now we try to buy as we go. MouseGear is my favorite store on property.

We love to visit MK last! We have to say goodbye to the castle. Recently we've started noticing people on the monorail or parking lot tram who are obviously just starting their trips. We smile because we know that it is now their turn to create some family magic of their own.

Our final FULL day this year was Epcot EMH / Illuminations. Don't know if I'd call it tradition or not, but I guess if we repeat it next time, it qualifies.

Nothing signals the end of a fine meal like a rousing chorus of morning thunder. :thumbsup2 I know I don't consider my day to have properly begun without it.

Our final FULL day this year was Epcot EMH / Illuminations. Don't know if I'd call it tradition or not, but I guess if we repeat it next time, it qualifies.

Those words, "next time" are sure some darn tootin' good ones. I love it when someone says that, it signals more TR action, and good times!

jordo, dont really have a last day tradition, always seem to do something different, so maybe that can be yours, always do something different...

as for new things for you, how about you try and take pictures of people wearing clothes that they should not have worn out of the house let alone should have bought in the first place.

Ooh!! I like that tradition. We may have to go grab some fudge on our way out too! I hope it's peanut free!! :thumbsup2

I like the idea of buying something to eat that you can take home. The sense of smell is the strongest sense. So smelling your treat will remind of you of WDW...

YOWZA this PTR is outta control! So many topics discussed I don't even know where to start (doesn't help that I found myself like 12 pages behind after the holiday...) :faint:

CONGRATS to Erica on being at WDW and pregnant (with a boy! pirate: )... been there, done that... Enjoy it! :wave2:

TWILIGHT... I'm amongst those non-interested parties... don't get it, don't have the time to try to get it... ha ha ha. :confused3 I don't need more new things in life...

MRSK - that is the funniest tag image ever!!! :lmao: Jordan is going to become infamous on the DIS whether he wants to or not!!! He's going to be like Maynard at Disneyland. People from around the world will just know him wherever he goes. :magnify: SOOOOO funny. DH would just shake his head and walk away... :sad2:

AIRFARE ROULETTE... yes, I was rolling the dice for a lower fare, but DH said let's just book it. It's not TOO killer (like $500) but not ideal (low $300s) but in looking at our conversion rate for our points, it would run us like 175,000 points to book the tickets and pretty much blow all our points... and even though we could buy points (you either earn them $1/point or you can purchase them for cents on the dollar) it would cost us that much or more to recoup them anyway, so we just paid OOP for tickets. C'est la vie. The luck of the draw... :confused3

We are coming up on the end of this part of the PTR. As most, if not all, of you know, threads are closed at 250 pages. I've got about 11 pages to go...

being on the DIS too much....;)

What are your end of trip traditions?

For us it is spending the day with my parents. Usually a nice breakfast adn just hanging out. We have never left later than 3:00pm, so we never really have a WHOLE day, IYKWIM.

Chapter 54. Winding up Volume 1.

I don't have a specific end of trip tradition, but I prefer to end at the Magic Kingdom. Have to get my fill of the Haunted Mansion and Philharmagic before I leave. If I had a day to myself I think I would probably spend it at Epcot and at the Magic Kingdom. As for food.....probably Cosmic Rays or Columbia Harbour House:love:.

[B]I started this bad boy out on or around May 31st.

It's been an honor to be a small part of your journey, and it's great making new friends. You have some pretty great friends here...I love seeing how you, Cherie and Rose are such a hoot together! You've done a great job on your PTR Jordie, and I love the dynamic of having Wendy be apart of things here too.

Thanks to all of you for your continued support and friendship. I hope you'll continue to follow along as I go to Volume II!!!!!Of course I will! :thumbsup2

I can't really say since I've only been to WDW twice, DL many times, but I can't think of a better way to end the trip than being at MK. My next trip (in May 2010) We will start our trip at MK and end our trip at MK. :cloud9:

I think farting was one of God's most creative and humorous stunts! What a funny way to get some kicks and giggles! Farting. Well, at least it is for those of us who've never gotten over our junior high humor mode.

This topic comes up a lot in our house, I have a family who thinks it's something that needs to be discussed at any given moment. Much to my dismay of course. This brings me to the lastest conversation......I pick up my daughter this evening from Ballet class, and as she get's into the van all beautiful with her leotard and tights on, hair up and a great glow going on (girls glow, not sweat). After a quick hello she proceeds to tell me that she had been letting them rip all through out the class. :lmao: I of course let her know I'm sure her class mates were thrilled with this sensory discovery coming from her cutely cladded tush this evening, and she said..."It's not like they know who it's coming from mom! I'm not making any noise when it's happening!" :rotfl: I of course say "Well thank heavens for that!" Out of the mouth of babes.

I have heard people make that claim of never passing gas...I wonder if one can go through life w/o poofing? It seems as natural as eating.

Technically it's not possible to hold in a pongu indefinitely. You can only hold it in until you go to sleep; at which point, the trump shall sound as it were. Don't believe me? I refer you to the official source for such info: Facts on Farts. (http://www.heptune.com/farts.html) Yeah, it's a real website. Yeah I know the URL. :sad2: Explains a lot doesn't it?

Jordan, great banner, love it. Tracy, great job on the banner. Cherie, very funny Maxine comic.

Tooting is how I refer to passing gas. And, since being back at karate for the last couple of months, I always fear that while doing sit ups (while someone is holding my legs), I'm going to toot. It has not happened ... to me ... yet ... but it has happened to a couple of people this past Saturday. We all heard the toot, but we did not know who the tooter was.

Have a good day all.

Chapter 54. Winding up Volume 1.

So lovely, all of it!

Last day...hmmn. For us it's always been a leave it open and decide then kind of thing. But at the same time, slower, more relaxed, just soaking it all in. It would be nice to have an actual tradition in there! If we've done it right, it is NOT shopping!

jordanyosh
12-01-2009, 01:26 PM
Hallelujah to no shopping on the last day! I just can't be that frenzied. IF, I've made all my mandatory souvie purchases for friends and family then MAYBE, MAYBE I'll do shopping for myself.

I lived in a house with 2 older brothers plus a dad who made poofing an art form.

I find women's poofs don't smell.:confused3

I also lived in a house with 2 older brothers and a dad. They made it into a constant contest. Vacation was always interesting with all of us crammed into one room with the "who can fart the loudest" contest on. I can neither confirm nor deny my participation. :rolleyes1

On the first night of our 3 week road trip in August, we stopped at my aunt and uncles for the night. they made dinner for us and one of the things was a salad made from whole wheat.
DH had 1 small bite and didn't finish it because there was tuna in it.

About an hour later we were in the guest room which has a connecting wall with my aunt and uncles.

We had just got into bed and dh started ripping them like crazy. And then he would laugh hysterically. I kept telling him to be quiet and he'd just laugh harder and louder.
This went on for over an hour!

I can only imagine what they must have heard and thought in the other room. It sounded like a thunder storm was passing through.

Pool IS best of all- way more fun. In fact, it's like 3 year old humor instead of jr. high stuff. I love my 7 year old in the tub; she "plays Nemo" all the time.
