Hello everyone. My name is Tammy. I'm a homeschool mom/photographer. I'm married to the biggest Disney lover in the World, Sidney. We've been together for over 12 years and married for eleven of them. This is us in June 2009!
http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/0000000008.jpg
We have three wonderful kids who also love Disney. For privacy reasons we will give them Disney names. :goodvibes
From left to right we have Dash, Bolt, & Gabriella. Why those names you ask? Well DD is in love with Troy from HSM & his girlfriend is Gabriella so...she chose that one. People have called my oldest DS Dash ever since The Incredible's came out and it is fitting. He even looks like him sometimes. My youngest DS loves Bolt! (And he is known for "bolting" from time to time so again it's very fitting in more ways than one!)

We go to Disney as much as we can. In September of 2008 we became passholders and we have worn those babies out! WDW is 8-9 hours away depending on fast you drive and how often you stop but we're so used to the drive now...it doesn't even bother us anymore. We usually plan the details of the next trip on our way to and from the one we're currently on. I know...we're crazy for going so much but that's what the five of us like to do! I don't know that we could ever get tired of it. :goodvibes
The current trip you're about to go on with us was May 19th-25th. This trip was a total surprise to our kids and we kept it a secret 'til we were entering the WDW entrance! (Thank goodness they took a nap before we hit Orlando!) We would have been busted. :lmao: Dash is a huge fan of anything Star Wars and really wanted to go to Star Wars Weekends but we told him our passes were blacked out during those dates. (I had to you guys...we wanted it to be a surprise!) We were there in March for my birthday and the Flower & Garden festival was about to start. We saw a few of the topiaires and I told Sidney we had to go back next year so we could see everything. He agreed. Well, we started looking at dates for next years F & G festival and it looked as if it would not cross paths with SWW so we said NOW IS THE TIME! Let's do it! We scored All Star Sports for $64 a night with our PH rate so we booked 5 nights. Well, as always at the last minute he said he'd like to stay 6 or 7 nights. The values were not available but Coronado Springs was. We got it for $98 a night and added the quick service dining plan. We lucked out and got a newly refurbished room and boy were they nice! I've stayed in or have seen nearly every resort in WDW and these rooms top them all! I told Sidney I want to redo our room to look like those!
This is where we spent the majority of our vacation...

This is where we finished it off!

I was able to meet three Disfriends on this trip and I loved them all! They were a blast to hang out with and I wish I could have spent more time with them. Gabriella too. She loved all the little girls close to her age. :cutie: The rain messed up a lot of our plans. It rained every single day! I have never in my life seen so much rain! We didn't let it bring us down though. We had a lot of fun despite the rain and if anything it brought even more memories that will last a lifetime!
In case you are new to my trip reports I'll give you a little background on us. I'll go back to 2006...that's far enough. Our trips went a little like this...
June 2006 ~ A visit with my cousin and her niece at AKL & CSR. A tropical storm was hitting FL at the time so the place was dead! Even that didn't drop as much rain as our May '09 visit! We stayed for a week and only did a couple of Disney parks. We spent most of our time hanging out at Universal since we were going back for free dining in August.
August 2006 ~ Our first experience with the free dining plan. OMG it was so good back then. This was before the kids meals became grouped. Back then the kids could order an appetizer and dessert off of the adult menu too! It was so flipping cool! Gratuity was also included. I miss that dining plan! I'm pretty sure the max amount of days then was 10 so that's what we booked. We added an extra night though so we'd be there the morning our package started. This was also our first visit to the brand new Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique! Gabriella was 4 years old and she was so tickled to get her makeover! It was $35 back then! (We bought her costume seperate because we got a 10% discount with our Disney Visa...it ended up a lot cheaper.) When we went to get the pictures made they gave me the photo package! I thought that was a pretty good deal! Now I think it starts at $55!? (And it's nowhere near as magical...we've been 5 times....trust me, I know!) Each time it slacks a little more.
December 2006 ~ We stayed at Ft Wilderness in the cabins & All Star Movies. This was a total last minute trip. We were eating at the Crab House and said, "I wish we were able to go to the Christmas party." Sidney took a "bathroom" break and came back with the most wonderful CM ever. He had scored us the Wilderness cabins for a little over $150. I can't remember the amount exact now and the first two nights of 5 we were at All Star Movies...I think that was $39 a night! This guy was awesome!!! Both me and DD did BBB together on this trip and we had so much fun!
January 2007 ~ Yep...just a few days later we went back to WDW again. Sidney had a client that needed some work done in Tampa and well, you know how close Tampa is to WDW and the first ever Pirate Princess Party was about to begin! We ended up doing the first two parties! They were so much fun. We met Joy and Jesse anf the kids....OMG it was the best time ever for all of them! For this trip we stayed at Pop for 6 nights. Maybe 7. I can't remember now.
August 2007 ~ Coronado Springs Resort, Port Orleans Riverside, and Pop Century! This was the longest WDW for us yet. 17 nights! 12 nights on the free dining plan and yes...it was still pretty good then too. Not as good as in '06 but still adults got the appetizers and gratuity was included. We did the PPP again. BBB. All kinds of stuff. If you want to take a look at my first ever trip report it recaptures some of these trips mentioned above. Here is the link to those...
We're back from WDW ~ 11 days of Fun Fun Fun!! (August '07 & before)
Includes trips from June, August, & December '06, Jan '07 PPP, and August '07...includes vintage Disney pics too! Discovery Island + River Country!
http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1874507
August/September 2008 ~ Polynesian Magic Kingdom View & Pop Century were the resorts this time. The trip was August 28th - September 7th. I met a lot of Disers on this trip too! It was sooooo much fun. We went to our very first MNSSHP (which was fantastic)...the kids did the Alice in Wonderland Tea Party at the Grand Floridian. Gabby did BBB again. Dash was picked to fight Darth Vader and Jack Sparrow! The kids rode the Goofy coaster with Goofy and the Teacups with the Mad Hatter. This was a truly magical trip! This trip report is packed with food pictures....fun things to do...you name it it's probably in there! :goodvibes This was our first time upgrading free dining to deluxe dining too! It was awesome! We were able to try out a bunch of new places and the dinner shows...this was one of the best trips ever! If you want to check that one out here's the link...
Why is there a Disney waiter at my door!?
http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1948052
December 2008 ~ Our first "Magical Grand Gathering" with Katie and Ryan! More wonderful friends we met via the Dis! We didn't have plans to return for a while but when they sent us a pin for free dining we had to! I just could not turn down FREE DINING at Christmas time! Hello!? So I booked and we brought along my mom, dad, and sister too! We had a blast! We stayed at Pop for this one too. I always stay at a value for free dining! Otherwise, what's the point? That's how you get a deal. Yes, I love a good deal! I live for them! We went to the Christmas party with Katie and Ryan...met a ton of characters dressed up for the Holidays...went on the DVC tour and so much more! This one is packed full of pictures!
March 2009 ~ Well, we had the AP's now and they were itching to be used. Then the 4/3 came out and we were taking a newbie with us so we booked in her name. We spent 8 crazy nights at various resorts. Wilderness Lodge, All Star Movies, and Pop! That was by far the funniest Disney trip I've ever been on! I laughed so hard...OMG. It was so funny! That trip report is a good read too and it's all wrapped up in one TR with the December trip as well. Check them out! You wont be sorry! BTW I'm still working on the March report. I have two more days to go! And March was my birthday and Anniversary trip too! I got the $75 gift card and spent it all on the kids. Here's the link to the last two trips...
3/4-3/12 Wilderness Lodge, Thongs, Celebrities, Birthday fun, & River Country too!
http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2044727
My very first trip to WDW was in 1982! Epcot had just opened and at the time I hated that place. (It's my second favorite park now...lol) Sidney's first trip to Disney was in 1997 after we first got together. The castle was a huge birthday cake that year! :rotfl: I still think it's sad that he grew up 6 ours from WDW and his parents never took him and his brother! All of my kids went in utero and within the first couple of months of life. We've always gone at least once a year. This year is for sure breaking a 365 day record. I'll say that.
We have two more trips planned for 2009. In August we are doing a Grand Gathering with Colleen (Goofy22) and Christine (DisneyQuilter)! My sister and her friend Chimere will be going too. We're doing deluxe dining again and we're trying out a bunch of new places. I am so excited about this trip! I can not wait to meet these girls and their families. I just know we'll be instant BFF's for the rest of our lives!

In December we are going again! This time we'll be at Ft Wilderness again. We'll be meeting Heather (hlrababy), Farrah (heath-and-javens-mom), Amanda (bentleygirl22) and a few other Diser's then! Hopefully Jen (Mom2Lindsey) will be coming and I hope to meet Jennifer (29apr00) & Jennifer (ethansmommy) too! If I'm forgetting anyone please remind me.

We usually wake up around 4 am and hit the road but this time I promised myself at least 5 hours of sleep. I woke up a little before 8:00 and we were on the road by 8:25. I don't know why but we wait until the very last minute to do anything and then we're sleepy all the way down. Not good and I refused to do it again!
As most of you know I live in South Carolina. I am along the coast but there are parts of SC we have to drive through to hit I 95 that aren't so much fun. The roads are littered with road kill and things like this.
http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/May%202009%20WDW/May19th/c373a27f.jpg
Luckily today we were on the opposite side of the road as pappy, not behind him.
Once in a while you'll pass a gorgeous farm or huge estate out in the middle of nowhere...like these, and no that's not the house you see in the one pic. That's the helps garage! I was told this was the man who started Hooters home at one time. I think he has passed away but the wife still lives there. I don't know for sure but the place is massive. I tried to photograph the house but Sidney's head got in my way!

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/May%202009%20WDW/May19th/733eb12c.jpg
This is an old farm we pass and it's so pretty. It always looks so kept. I wish my house was built on that property but here where I live. That would be nice!

Meanwhile the kids are all excited. The older two thought we were heading to Atlanta for a Field Trip! They had picked out museums to visit and everything. I had to go along with it so we wouldn't blow the secret. I still can't believe we pulled it off! They had no clue they were going to Disney!

You only stay on the back roads for about an hour, maybe less, 'til you hit 95. The it's a straight shot 'til you hit I 4! It's not so bad. I noticed that the clouds that morning looked like the mountains off in the distance. I felt like I was driving to the Mountain House instead of Disney.

I 95 baby!!!
http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/May%202009%20WDW/May19th/6b8cc905.jpg
Once I hit this road I know where I'm going! Walt Disney World! This is my sneaky look "self potrait".
http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/May%202009%20WDW/May19th/773fecf6.jpg
We drive and we drive and we drive some more and then we stop at Goasis for a little Subway and a pee break. This place is so cool. You can pay for your gas WITH CASH there AT the pump! That's the only time I've ever seen a place that allows that. The gas is always cheap here too. (Exit 29 in GA) They have a Subway, Burger King, and I think one more place inside that you can eat at. The bathrooms are super clean too. They have a family bathroom and it's such a cute bathrooom I had to share with you guys. :lmao:

The minute we hit FL the weather turned to this!
http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/May%202009%20WDW/May19th/8308331d.jpg
At one point it was raining so hard you couldn't see 5 feet in front of you. It was awful. We saw wreck after wreck. I wish I had pulled the camera out now. They were stupid wrecks. People just being careless but still. They were everywhere which slowed down the traffic and caused us to creep like turtles once we entered the Orlando area. (And the wrecks were on the opposite side of the street!) :rolleyes1
The kids were readin when we passed the FLORIDA sign so they missed it. RIght before Jacksonville they fell asleep and didn't wake back up until we were about 3 miles from here
http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/May%202009%20WDW/May19th/e0f80495.jpg
Dash woke up first and saw a Disney cruiseline bus and he knew right then there was no Atlanta. Then Gabby sees the WDW sign and started smiling. Both looked at me with confusion and I said, "Anyone up for Star Wars weekends!?" Let's just say the backseat was very happy! :goodvibes
The resort was All Stars Sports. We did this kind of last minute so Pop was all sold out and I did not want to stay at movies again. Ew! I hated that place with a passion. It has been over a decade since we'd stayed at All Star Sports so I was fine with it. I knew the rooms had been redone and to be honest they were kind of cute. I like the way they're decorated. Much better theme than movies, I HATED the way those rooms looked (other than the bathroooms and curtains...those were cool!) I'm still not a fan of the All Stars though. They're so far away from everything and the food courts/lobby/ and pools I don't care for. When it comes to value it's Pop for me. I do wish Pop was decorated like the ASMu/ASSp rooms though. I love the silver mixed with the wood.
So anyway...we pull up to All Star Sports and Sidney goes to check us in. It's pouring rain so we didn't care to get out. About 15 minutes later he showed back up with the keys and paperwork. The woman told him she gave us a nice room. Ha! Are you kidding me? She had put us up against a swamp...our view was of a swamp and we saw a flipping baby gator near the sidewalk on our way to the room. No way was I gonna stay there. This is the first room....on the back side of the hoops section.
http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/May%202009%20WDW/May19th/f7ace5d3.jpg
Gabby was freaked out after seeing the gator!
http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/May%202009%20WDW/May19th/ebac2393.jpg
And here is Sidney calling the front desk asking for a room near civilization.
http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/May%202009%20WDW/May19th/bb36c74c.jpg
They told him to come up and get his new keys. I didn't care to stand in the rain with gators so we waited 'til he came back. Meanwhile I took a picture of the table and chairs. I thought these were really cute. Gabby is still waiting and standing still. She knows we wipe down and sanitize everything before we use it. She was so good and patient this day.

FInally after what felt like forever Sidney came back and got us. We swam back to the truck and moved over to the football section. We were on the second floor but we were right by the food court and pools. (No gators to be seen.) Upon arrival in our new room 0220 we had this waiting for us.
http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/May%202009%20WDW/May19th/90c5d281.jpg
This room was so much better. There were other people around and things to see, other than baby gators and swamp.

We unloaded our fridge and got settled in. We were trying to keep this trip on the low side, meaning groceries would be bought and food eaten in the room quite a few times. We brought our sandwich maker and the works...things went well too, surprisingly.
http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/May%202009%20WDW/May19th/35a8f419.jpg
Look how cute the coat rack is
http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/May%202009%20WDW/May19th/e9163c64.jpg
The bath and vanity were kind of plain and the water faucet was horrible...you'd have to turn it on full force or the water would drip on the back of the sink. Ew!
http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/May%202009%20WDW/May19th/136ed210.jpg
Once we sanitized and wiped down our room we were all starved. We went over to the Ale House for take out. It was ladies night ($1 drink specials) and the place was packed so I did not want to take the kids inside. We got our food and ate it in the truck to the sound of pouring rain. LOL I had the kids chicken tenders (and this was two meals for me...not kidding) w/ a plain baked potatoe. The kids had tenders and pizza and Sidney ordered the 35 Fried Shrimp & Jumbalaya (I can't spell it, sorry...or maybe I did, anyway you know what I mean right?) The J was for tomorrow night and the 35 shrimp he ate then. Sorry, no pics.
After dinner we went to Hell-Mart. I HATE that place with a passion. Things went okay though. I lasted about 15 minutes and then I had to get out of there. We bought our groceries and got the kids some cute Mickey and Minnie ponchos for $4 each. We didn't even have to wait in line! I was in shock! Usually it takes ya about an hour to check out at that WM. I think I angered the cashier though...she was reading the National Enquirer when we walked up and she gave me a dirty look.
We went back to our room, watched Stacy chat things up about the parks, and went to sleep. We all prayed for a break in the weather tomorrow so we could enjoy Epcot's Flower and Garden festival. Would we get one? Stick around to see...:goodvibes

LOL! I refuse to patronize Walmart. I just can't do it. The last time I even tried was 2 years ago. We were going to a lake vacation and our cargo box had not been locked on the drive...all our beach towels littered the highway (thankfully we found the life jackets that had also flown out). In desparation, we tried Walmart (Target and Penney's having been a bust and we really didn't want to pay resort town prices for bad towels).
It was a NIGHTMARE. A kid actually TOOK otter pops out of my cart and the mom didn't stop him! Employees couldn't even tell me wehre the towels were.
I left, sans otter pops. Or anything for that matter.
And have some hideously cheap (but pricey) towels that are delegated as yard "beach" towels and hang in the garage as a result for after the sprinkler.
lol.
Baby gator? Oh my! DS8 would have freaked. Or been fascinated, I'm not quite sure.

Great start woman. :) Im soo excited about the DEC trip. I will live through your TR untill its our turn-lol
We drive 15 hours to WDW each time we go and I know all about the rain, and wrecks...scary stuff.
We stayed at sports in 2001, my very first trip to the world..I actually thought it was great, however I had never stayed anywhere else so I had nothing to compair it to. THEn in 2003 we stayed at CSR and I hated it because we were in Ranchos and I felt very far away from everything..plus the theaming sucked. I am happy though that we will try CSR again this year in a closer building, and the room renovations are definitly a big plus.

I'm in!! I can't believe you guys went to WDW again and I reeeeally can't wait to hear all about it. The ASSp rooms are really nice! I stayed there in 2005 and they were in desperate need of an overhaul. They did a good job cleaning them up! I thought ASMo was pretty good (except I'm not a big AllStars fan now either) but ASSp looks alot better. Hope the rain stops for you guys so you can get SOME dry weather for a park!

Hi, love all your TR's! I have made my way through most of them.
Your kids are cuties.
You are a fantastic photographer! :thumbsup2
I wish I lived in Myrtle Beach, we love vacationing there. Our last trip was in May 08. We loved it! Up until I burned myself on the last day...ouch!
Margarittaville is a must for us.
Next trip I will look at staying at the place you had your DS's birthday at, looked like a very fun place.
I think it's cool you home school your kids, I don't think I would be very good at it.
You are the luckiest family to get to visit WDW so much. I am jealous! ;)
Can't wait to see the trip unfold. Too bad you had so much rain....

I can't wait to hear about your trip. I love Flower and Garden Festival, and DFi is a huge Star Wars fan.
Welcome! Both events were wonderful! I was so happy to see them...even with the rain. :goodvibes I've yet to watch all of the Star Wars movies. I told Dash I'd watch with him so I'd know who the characters are next year (other than the obvious). We hope to go again in 2010.
My you are a busy DIS er. I spend the day at the girl's dance recital and come back to find you've started a new trip report! Great! I can't wait to read it.
I could have used you today at the dance recital. my photos can out terrible. I don't think the flash was bright enough for as far away as we were. but we'll eventually get the video and the studio photos, so that will have to do.
Can't wait to hear about DS Star Wars Weekend!
I know it. I still have to upload everything from the kids cameras (I used some of those when the rain got bad too...I wasn't about to break mine out at the water park!) :lmao:
So how was the recital? What did the costumes look like? I love the costumes. When I was little all of mine were WHITE. I was so sick of white. The first year Gabby took dance guess what color she got...WHITE! Luckily her new teacher likes color as much as I do. Thanks for joining me over here!
I am hereeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! Whooo hoooo!!
:woohoo: Hey you! Did you get your stuff yet? That pkg was heavy! It was the surfboards. Those things are so cute. Your whole house is going to look like a tropical paradise! (The car too.)
Planning Jennys 5th birthday and post number 5!!!
I need ideas for a tinkerbell themed party...food?
Hey! Thanks for coming over! Food for Tink. Hmmm. She's little so you could do like big sized food mixed with little food. They sell baby goldfish, baby m & ms, baby oreos. (Or minis as they call them.) Look on the Family Fun website. They always have great birthday ideas and it's a Disney magazine so surely Tink is on there. That will be a gorgeous party!
I'm here!!! :woohoo:
Can't wait to meet you girls too!! We're going to have a blast!!! :yay::banana:
Love the new ticker. Wait 'til you see some of that merchandise. Well, you probably have since you LIVE IN DISNEYLAND! :rotfl: Lucky duck! 80 something more days 'til we partay!!!
just signing on for the ride!
Hey Dawn! Thanks for coming over. You and me are always doing a report of some sort...aren't we?
Hey Tammy,
I'm here :goodvibes. Looking forward to hearing all about you May trip ;) though some of it I already know. Hoping you got some good SW weekend pics :goodvibes.
Yep! We had so much fun hanging out with you guys! Send me the pics you took of the kids, K? I would have totally taken one with you but after that rainy day I looked like a wet dog! Good news...I lost 7 more pounds at WDW. Next time we meet I hope to be human sized again! :lmao:You should come in December...really. Think about it. I did get some good SW pics. You'll love 'em. I want to do it again next year. It was a lot of fun.

:woohoo:
I despise going there and it's rare that I do but the little grocery store right outside the gate sells a hot pocket for $7. I couldn't afford to get groceries there. :lmao: The whole gator thing was a little freaky...yeah Florida is full of them but you don't want one a foot away from your room entrance either. The rain must have made them come out...we saw a ton of big huge turtles dead along the side of the road on the way home. It was so sad.
popcorn::
Will catch up later, just going out for a picnic :)
Well that sounds like fun! I wouldn't mind a little picnic myself.
popcorn:: I'm in.
We were there 5/23 - 5/26. Stayed at Pop.:cool2:
OMG I wish I had known. I would have loved to have met you guys! Darn it! Did you get decent weather those last couple of days?
Keep looking...you might be in the background of some of our pictures.

Yay! For the next 5 days anyway...then you'll be leaving for Disney. Excited? Yeah? Have some shrimp for me!
Omg! You already have 2 pages! My husband was on the computer last night way late! I couldn't get on he wouldn't get off! so I'm here now! :)
Hello...ladies first! LOL Colleen we have less than 90 days now!!! Can you believe it? I am super excited about this trip. I'm going to Home Depot in a bit to get some Mickey Heads to do a countdown....
You have started your May TR! It looks really great so far, and I'm excited to see all the pictures and food. Subbing!
Yep. I still have some pictures to load in but I am ready to get it going...the rain and all. I'm bringing it. I see Swan and Dolphin are running a $119 special. How'd you like the resort? Was it nice and comfy?
I'm here too! Love the updates already. I would frak too if I saw a baby gator walking near my room. I would fear he'd be waiting out my door to have us for lunch. (amybe he was on the dining plan too....free people, all you can eat)
My thing was....if there's a baby gator here mama gator won't be too far behind! :scared1: I wish I had taken a picture of the swamp for ya'll to see. It was raining gators and turtles that day though and I didn't want to pull the camera out in the wetness. I can't believe they had rooms facing such a thing. My gosh. It was in a HOLE!
Those bathrooms at the GA where you stopped were really cute!
I definitely wouldve gotten away from that gator to especially in the rain! :scared1:
I think the rain had a lot to do with why they were out. But still...that's kind of scary. I think those are the cleanest and cutest bathroooms I have ever seen on an interstate anywhere!
:yay:For and update already. The rain was just awful Tuesday night when you guys arrived. I can't even imagine having to drive in that monsoon. It looks beautiful where you live in SC. The bathroom pics :laughing:are amusing too.
I know. And boy was it a sign of things to come! :scared: Who needs water parks with all that going on? I packed a lot of extra clothes and we went through them all! I remember at Epcot one day I saw so many adult women walking around in their bikini tops...evidently they ran out of clothing too. I didn't think that was allowed. Once Gabby went in in her swimsuit top and shorts and they said something to me about it. I thought they were kidding but he said that was a park rule???
I'm in !

It was a great surprise and I can't believe we kept it up for so long. It was so hard not to tell them.
I can't imagine anyone wanting to stay back there in any resort. It was horrible. The rain was so bad you had flooding right outside the door too. The football room as much nicer.
I'm here :) Great so far (as usual!)
Thanks! Glad you're joining me for another trip!
I'm in! Great start! Know all about the rain..
Heck yeah you do. It was so much fun meeting you guys and Gabby wont stop gabbing about your DD. Those two really hit it off. Is your PTR going to be your TR now?

Sounds like a plan. You'll love the CSR pics! You guys are going to like that room. I'm so glad you changed your minds about staying. How much did the room end up per night? We paid $98 per night but this was "peak" season so your deal should have been way better. With that pin they were telling me $49.20 on the values so I'm thinking $70's for a mod. (or $80's) I think I'm gonna axe my PTR's and do a group one for August. Would you girls like to get together and do a one for all PTR for Nov/Dec? I think it would be fun to do one together since we're all going at the same time. LMK Oh, is Alicia going at the same time?

Hey Amanda! Glad you made it over! The ASSp rooms are pretty. I wish they were that cute at Pop. I still like Pop better. It's in a better location....better pools...nicer food court. Hopefully they'll start refurbing their rooms before too long. They're starting to wear out a little. No way were we going to stay back there in gator alley! The rain must bring them out!
I'm in!! I can't believe you guys went to WDW again and I reeeeally can't wait to hear all about it. The ASSp rooms are really nice! I think SC teaching degrees come in cracker jack boxes nowadays judging from the public school teachers...I'm much better suited. I will say that. Half of them don't know don't know up from down.
You are the luckiest family to get to visit WDW so much. I am jealous! ;)

It's some kind of alcoholic beverage cooler. It was broken so the rest threw it out and we salvaged it. Man it is cold now! We use it at WDW when we stay in the values.

Hey Mary!!! Well, we tried. And we did have that 45 seconds of hellos. (Your kiddos are precious) I so wanted to come see your room and let the kids hang out. Every time we planned anything we'd get a down pour. Can you believe how much it rained? My goodness. I didn't think it was possible! It was 30% off but that's not bad. I wonder if they'd still let you do it since we just got home? I brought one home. I have the code if you want to try.
The second half of the trip I didn't even wear makeup. As much as it was raining what was the point? I'd have black mascara running down my face all the time. :rotfl:

I should have but it was outside and it was pouring down rain so hard! That's probably what ran them out of their nests. Those Armadillos are everywhere. I would see them along the road side every day. Ft Wilderness is full of them too!

Hi Tammy,
I literally stumbled onto your Trip report, btw LOVED what I've read so far! Anyway, we were at Disney the same time :) As a matter of fact, we stayed in ASSP, in Hoops, we were on the first floor, more or less towards the front, no swamp for us. However, we did eventually have a swamp on the grass b/c of all the rain :) My boys, would have ADORED the baby gator, probably would have invited him into our room :/
Nice to meet you :)

Jenny
Really!? Did you see us? You might be in the background of some of my pics. Wouldn't that be something? Me and Gabby went out and did resort pics one morning. You'll be able to show me where you were. We were on the football field. Even that flooded out a couple of times. That rain was terrible. Thanks for dropping by. I hope you'll stick with me through the whole thing. I'll have a new update tonight. I had to load in more pictures...
OK OK now im watching two of your reports, Im feeling like a stalker!!:rotfl2:
Oh hush. I'm glad you've joined both! Feel free to go back and look at the old ones too. They're all different. This is the first time I ever had two going at once though. Luckily I'm almost done with the March one. :goodvibes
I'm in. I'm in serious need of a Disney fix before our trip in September. We'll be back at Pop, but I have to say, I love the theming in your photos of ASSp. We had very little at Pop and that was about my only disappointment with it. As vacations go, I can certainly live with that!:yay:
Heather
What are your dates in September? I am counting down the minutes 'til my next trip. I can't wait! I wish the Pop rooms were a little more themed too but the resort overall I like a whole lot better than the All Stars. I take it you guys are doing free dining?
I'm here! Can't wait to read more about your suprise trip! I totally think you guys should do a group PTR--you'd all be a riot! I'd live through it, since DH will never take me to Disney at that time--it's too close to hunting season! :headache: Stupid men!
Hey you! I have the song Permanent Vacation stuck in my head. Heard it on the way to WDW and now I need to hear the song daily! Only problem...the one I have is vinyl! (And I don't have a record player) I think we are...a group ptr for both August and December since it's big groups both times. :goodvibes YOU could go without him! It's not like you wouldn't have friends to hang out with! :rolleyes1

We woke up kind of early and had some cereal in the room. Normally we'd eat at Tusker House or O'Hana for breakfast but this was the "do it as cheap as you can getaway". Plus the FOOD trip is in August/September.
Cereal in the room works out just fine and it really saved a ton of money! I walked downstairs and took a couple of reosrt pictures before we headed out. The sky was overcast but there was no rain. This was nice because it made the temperatures way lower than they normally would be this time of year.
Here are some pics we took of the resort on the way out. My favorite sections were the football and baseball areas. We were close to the front up by the food court on the second floor. I loved the location of our second room. It took about a minute to get to the food court! Perfect. We never used the pools though at ASSP.

I like these pics...I think they're cute. There are cute photo ops at all of the Disney resorts. You could spend a whole day going from resort to resort just to take pictures! One day I'd like to do that.

The kids had fun taking pics over here. By the way this resort was nearly empty until the weekend. Then you started to see some people come in. It never got real busy though. At least it didn't seem like it to me. The parks on the other hand...completely different story! Saturday and Sunday they were slammed. Probably locals coming in for SWW and all that since school was out on Monday.

After exploring a little we headed to our truck and went over to Epcot. I could not wait to see all the Flower and Garden festivities. They started to put things out when we left in March. (We missed the start of F & G by a few days) I was so happy to get back and see everything! Up next we explore Ecpot!
*I'll start the next post now but there is a bad electrical storm coming up so I may not be back to post it until later tonight...there will be another update tonight though! I promise!

Lovin those ASSp pictures! The place was emptyyyy. Wow, I'm shocked too on Memorial Day weekend. Lucky for you guys though! :thumbsup2
My parents were at Epcot and the MK today. They're in Orlando for their 25th wedding anniversary. My dad got two 1 day hopper ticket for free from some lady he works with. He rubbed in it...A LOT! They said MK was pretty crowded but that Epcot was emptyyy. It's Monday so I figured neither park would be slammed but I'm surprised at how empty they said Epcot was!

Hello everyone! Well, that horrible storm came through and knocked the power out for HOURS! But the laptop was completely charged and I had photobucket up on the right day so I got a LOT of this trip report done!!! :dance3: I'll post it in just a second. Meanwhile...I'm going to write all of you back who dropped by while I was in the dark. :lmao:
I can't believe how empty the resort looks!
I know. I noticed this back in March too. WL was a dead zone. Pop was about average and ASMo was dead too. WL was the worst of all though. I bet it wasn't at 5% occupancy. Might be time to really cut those rates Disney!!!! For everyone, forget the pins. Do something. $99 Deluxe ~ $69 Mods ~ $49 Values...anyone listening?

The power was out forever! I did a lot of this TR though 'til my battery died. :goodvibes Tonight is my catch up night as soon as I start the new PTR's. Maybe the next time you come I can take some pics of your kids on the beach. It wont take long. I bet they'll smile for me. :goodvibes
I'm in too. I love your TR's. I'm looking for ideas for our Sept. trip. We'll be there 9/4-13th at POR.
Thanks! Ideas...well go back and read the older ones too. Especially the Disney Waiter one...that will give you a ton of ideas since it was last year at the same time! We had a lot of magical moments last September...that was a great trip.

Me too. I LOVE the ones I got this time at CSR. OMG they are heavenly! I'm gonna give you a sneak peek.

Lucky ducks! What a great place to hang on your anniversary. FREE is good. I'd be bragging too. Go papa! :woohoo: MK always has people. Epcot I've seen empty a few times these past few visits and I love it!

Bookmark me then! Late comers are fine with me too by the way. I wish everyone would post when they stopped by. We're all friends here. LOL The football field is really cute. Baseball area too. I didn't care for the rest of the resort much. I'm not a big sports fan either...maybe that's why. I do love the big surfboards but they surround the main pool and it's so ugly so I wouldn't want to stay there in that section. Okay ya'll...time for a HUGE update. You ready?

I left off as we were heading to Epcot! My second favorite park out of the four! My families first stop ~ TEST TRACK, like always.

I know...I'm so bad but I tricked Dash into this picture in March so it was Gabby's turn to pose as the "dummy".
http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/May%202009%20WDW/May20th/May20th27.jpg
Gabby and I drove this time and it was just the five of us in our car! By the way...as I write this it is pouring down rain, there's loud thunder and lightning, and the wind is blowing like crazy! I feel like I'm back at Disney again! LOL
After Test Track we stopped to "test sit" the new cars. Kids love this place, don't they? Mine never want to leave. One of these days when they get bored I'm taking them to the car dealership to sit in all the cars. I bet those salesmen will hate me for it! Here are the pics...I sent Sidney to do them. I distracted the baby with other things.

After Test Track we took the Odyssey path (I can not wait to eat here in August!!!)
OOPS We just lost power...thank goodness the laptop is on it's battery or else I'd be in Nic's position right now! Modem isn't working so I'm no longer online but photobucket is up and I'm writing in an email so we're good!
So...we're on the path and I take a look over and the beautiful butterfly garden and floating planters. I thought this would be a wonderful shot with the monorail going through. I took a few pics of just the view so I could find the perfect spot. Here they are.

Here's the old Odyssey restaurant. This is where you eat during the Illuminations Grand Gathering. I can't find many reviews on it but I did walk by on the night they were doing the meal and you could see a little going on inside. It looked like so much fun. People were dancing with characters and they had pictures or movies...something with Disney characters flashing up on the walls. I am so excited to do that GG. (And the safari one too) We did the one at Tony's already and it was a lot of fun! We're doing it again in August though with Colleen (Goofy22) and her family.
http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/May%202009%20WDW/May20th/May20th35.jpg
Back to the perfect monorail shot...I waited and waited and finally the boys wanted to leave and do the Kim Possible thing so me and Gabby stayed behind. I have never waited this long for the stupid monorail to come through. They must have been running one less train because it was close to an hour before it came back through! Gabby passed the time by going through her Minnie backpack. (I bought these at the DS for $4 a piece!) Bolt has the Mickey one.

I thought it was worth the wait. Of course once photobucket resizes my pictures they look all grainy and blurry. I'm not posting everything life sized though. These will work just fine.
This was our first year doing the F & G festival and Gabby spotted Minnie and a huge butterfly across the way so we had to go check it out! Yep, we dissed the boys for a bit. We were having fun with just the two of us. Gabby wanted her picture taken so we stopped to do that.

Next we went inside and it was so beautiful to see all the butterflies swarming around. They were everywhere! I actually saw a show last night on the DIY network about a family chosen to help out with the F & G festival. It was really neat to see that after just being there. The family were the first ones to release the butterflies. How lucky to help out with the festival! That would be a dream come true for us!

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/May%202009%20WDW/May20th/May20th80.jpg
That's the other entrance...see the chains they have in the entry way so the butterflies stay in?

Right outside the door was the Fairy garden. Gabby loved this. (You can tell when you see her pictures..I have those coming up shortly!) Where we entered Tinkerbell was the first to be seen. These topiaries were so small and beautiful!

Love all the pics so far. the ones of DD with the sunset are just gorgeous! I love the ASSports photos too. I've never been to the value resorts cause we always go in summer and joe wants a ceiling fan. some day, when we have a quick trip, we'll have to stay there. I'd like to get some photos there some time. We always seem to stay at POFQ. We'll be there really soon!
I started posting before you previous post and then ran down stairs. Much to my surprise when I finished posting, you had already put up your new post!
I love the Flower pictures. They'll mostly be gone by the time we get there. I wish Pixie Hallow would still be there. My DDs would love that! I imagine your DD was in heaven with taking photos of her favorite fairies and butterflies! Can't wait to hear more. Oh and it was hot and sunny here. Not any chance of rain today! Funny how you're only a few hours away, but a whole different weather pattern today!

I don't know if they do this every year or not but this year they had playgrounds for kids everywhere. My kids loved this! This is the one they had at Pixie Hollow.

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/May%202009%20WDW/May20th/May20th114.jpg
I wanted to buy one of these fountains. I totally meant to and forgot all about it 'til I started uploading these pictures for the trip report.

I finally dragged her out of the garden, she would have stayed for days if I had let her, and we went to the Tink tent.
http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/May%202009%20WDW/May20th/May20th118.jpg
Here they colored a picture of Tinkerbell and when they were done the sweet lady would add "pixie dust" to the picture and laminate it for the kids. She also gave them Fairy stickers and a packet of seeds to plant at home. Hmm. What did I do with those seeds?

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/May%202009%20WDW/May20th/May20th120.jpg
I saw the face painting area next to the tent so I took a picture. I'd like to let the kids do this sometime but is it really sanitary? The thought if using makeup shared with another person kind of grosses me out. I observed this at the Animal Kingdom once before and it looked like the woman used the same stuff with several different kids. Ew!

The boys had been calling us over and over so we finally went back to meet them. We were having so much fun we didn't want to meet back up. She and I rarely get time alone so this was good for us. (And no, I could never go to WDW with her alone. The boys wouldn't hear of it, but man that would be FUN!)
On the way back to World Showcase we see this!

We LOVE the Lion King! I thought these topiaries were GORGEOUS! Oh, and check out that sunshine! As soon as we went over to the Fairy garden the sun came out and boy it was bright. We even got a little bit of a sunburn from it. Well, I did. Gabby tans in an instant. Lucky girl. Oh, I almost forgot. When we were at the Tink tent there was a couple of women (probably mom and grandma) there with a tween sized boy and girl. As soon as the sun came out she broke out this big bottle of sunscreen spray. She doused these kids, and the poor woman working the tent, until they were dripping! She was such an idiot. Had I been that sweet woman I would have said something. Poor thing had this mess sprayed all in her hair and face. The kids were griping, "That's enough!" and she kept on a going. I felt bad for them, really. This was my first encounter with rudeness. I only witnessed it...had she oiled me down she would have literally gotten a taste ( a mouth full) of the oil! Idiot.
So back to the beautiful Lion King....

After we left test track we spotted the most playful squirrel ever. He acted like a trained animal off of a movie set. He was so cute. People were throwing him food and he all but thanked them. I'm so not kidding. This lil guy was so cool! The kids took some great pics. He was willing to let people pet him and hold him but having seen what squirrels can do a human I wouldn't allow it. They got right up on him though and took pics...

Has "Gabby" ever played fairies on pixiehollow.com ? Maddie just loves playing there - it's pretty fun. They did that flower garden to look just like the website! love it so far we where there for starwars weekend may 22-25
Oh cool! You might be in the background of some of these pics! Keep looking. SWW was awesome! We're alreay planning a trip back next year!
I found your report and am so glad to read it. The pics at the All Stars are wonderful. And so glad to read that you enjoyed CSR (it is our favorite resort). Can't wait to read more. Love the sunset photos of your daughter.
Hey! I'm glad you found it too. I remember you from last year. You guys are super sweet and our trips were kind of close in '08. I got some great shots of CSR. They wont be up 'til the last day but they're worth the wait!
Awww, I love the sunset pictures!!! Gabby's dress is so cute!!
Isn't that sunset goegeous? And to think of the storm just before. I videotaped it! It was so bad! The dress came from the DS. She got a lot of compliments on it this past trip.

Well he could always bring a portable fan. :goodvibes I never use my fans. My parents run theirs 24/7. LOL I was a posting lil fool tonight! Oh yeah...she had a ball taking pics of the fairies. Wait 'til you see how many and the bad thing is...I didn't upload most of them!
Loved all the pictures. I hope to take a trip during that time next yr with my youngest ds.
Had it not rained every single day this would have been the prefect trip! It was a great time to go and see F & G and SWW all at one time!
Wow! Those sunset pictures are gorgeous! Looking forward to seeing the rest of them!

I'm telling ya....the place was beautiful after that storm! I don't photoshop anything either...what you see here is exactly how the pic turned out. The sky was perfect! (And it looked different in every pic too!)
I wish someone would send me an app to put the monorail pics together. That would look cool. I don't have a clue how to do that stuff.
DD loved those fairy houses too. She had to stop and explore each and every one of them. Agreed...they did a wonderful job with the F & G festival.
Gorgeous pics Tammy! All of them are soooo good. Gabby is beautiful and the pics at sunset-OH MY!

That would be fun. I'd like to do a mother/daughter trip to but the boys would never let that happen. You wouldn't have to tell Josie you were going to WDW. Right? Go in December...the week we're going they have a lot of great offers.
Tammy, The flowers are awesome! You're DD reminds me of my Dd with the camera! :)That's great you 2 got some mommy and me time!
You should see the baby. He loves the camera and as soon as he gets it he takes picture after picture of himself. He's like your DD. We enjoyed our short time alone.
Woo! You got the kids in the TT cars for me!
OMG! Love all the Tink stuff you did! But of course, you already knew I would! ;)
Told you I would and I will get that Mickey pic too...one day! I really want some of us there. Oh yeah...I knew you'd love the Tink pics.

OMG you missed those!? I'm so sorry. That was one of our favorite things. You guys didn't go see the butterflies? They were right by it. Oh this day we actually got a little bit of sun. I think you guys were at the AK that day. We never even went there.

Nope. She's never played but perhaps she should. I'll have to show her tomorrow. There's a lot of hype around Disney about that new movie. We still haven't seen the Tinkerbell movie yet. I know...not good.

Yes it is! I'd love to take my parents to see that stuff one day. My mom LOVES flowers. She'd have a blast there. Now I see why you guys like to go in May so much! ;)

Oh and the monorail looks awsome..thats the first time I have seen the mickey balloons on the windows.
I think they come down at the beginning of June. I wish they would leave them up all year long. They're beautiful! You know I'm doing pics of ya'll...and in return you can take some of us. ;) How much is the photopass thing now? Just two years ago it was FREE. They probably want $100 for it now huh? BTW in March we were pulled aside by the PP guy and he did a bunch of shots of the kids and Sidney. No charge..so look for the freebies. They had a freebie guy over at WL too.
The monorail decorations are really cute!
Wow, those are gorgeous pictures of your DD after the storm. Beautiful background.:thumbsup2 Thanks for all the great pictures of the topiaries. They are amazing.
Makes ya wanna plan a Spring trip to Epcot don't it? I had never seen such a beautiful sky as that evening. It was amazing!

Thanks. I wouldn't let my kids touch the squirrel but the people that were feeding it...those kids tried to pick it up but Sidney was ready to leave. I wish I had stayed to see what happened. I bet someone left the scene in tears! It really acted like a tamed pet though.
Wow. What a great update. I think my favorite topiaries are the Lion King stuff. The giraffes are SO cool. BTW - did your DD cut her hair? It looks so cute!
Yep. She got a hair cut. A big one! Me too. I cut about 12 inches off of mine and she got rid of about 8.
I thought of Buzz, though his new report has no mention of them. Yet. :rotfl2:
I am here and reading. What a nice surprise to wake up to.
the pics are so good. I still need to get the d60 before there are no more being they discontinued them.
Off to bed but know I am reading along. I enjoy your pics, they are so pretty and they make want to drop money on a new camera. :lmao:
The 60 or the 90. They're about the same. You'd love it Scott! It's about time I get to bed. I might try and update the other report first though. Thanks for coming over.

I was so happy to see the Tinkerbell gardens, I loved all the fairies. So sweet how they have the little houses too. It looks so beautiful, I just have to see it for myself. F&GF here I come...maybe 2010...:goodvibes

A little off-topic...is that Rob Thomas in your avatar? I :lovestruc Rob! I'm hoping to catch a few of his shows when he tours.
Now back on topic...I've only stayed at POFQ in March 09 and POR in May 09. I have never stayed on-site before and boy, was I missing out! I'm also planning on going back in December. I have family and my best friend & goddaughter in Tampa/Orlando and I go quite a few times a year, but in past years, didn't go into WDW. I have no idea why :confused3, late bloomer, I guess!!
Though, I did like POFQ alot more than POR. Maybe I'll try CSR for December? Hmm....
Ok, for this TR, I'm going to have to take it one TR at a time. I'm so envious! I'm looking forwarding to reading your other ones as well.
F&G Festival was awesome, wasn't it? I'm so glad, I was able to make it make to see it. I did see a bit of it while there in March as well.
The only thing I really didn't see was Pixie Hollow Garden. For some reason, I completely missed it. I was in the Butterfly Garden but walked out the same way we walked in, so I never saw it. :sad2: Let me tell you, I'm pretty sad about it. I love your pictures! It was like I was there. So, thank you! :goodvibes

loved the pixie hollow pictures. we went to F&G festival in may 2008 and they had tink, but none of the other stuff. probably because the movie wasn't out yet. it's all so cute! especially the little houses.
I wanted to buy one of these fountains. I totally meant to and forgot all about it 'til I started uploading these pictures for the trip report.

I loved how they had all the F & G stores set up around the park. They had some cute things too. A lot of it was expensive though.

Next we hit China and Gabby starts itching to spend her Disney money. On what you ask? Those darn puppets. Why do kids like these so much? If we had them in out home they'd never get played with but at WDW they are the coolest things ever!

How cute is his new hat!? Sidney said he refused to put it back so he bought it for him. I have to admit, it's super cute. When he meets frontier Donald again this Summer it'll make for a cute photo op!
Sidney tells me Mulan is out and sure enough...I turn around and she's right there. Gabby didn't want to meet her at first. (She wanted her money from daddy so she could buy that silly puppet!) This is the same Mulan we always meet. She is so sweet and pretty. She's one of the best Princesses in all of Disney! Here are the pics I took.

Love the update you and DD's pictures of the Flower & Garden Festival are just beautiful . That same racoon hat will pop up in my Disneyland trip. In fact, I've been trying to figure out what to do with it. That's one thing about taking a trip w/ Grandparents. We came home with a lot more frivolous space clutter. That's a good idea for fronteir Donald. Where is he found?

I love all the pictures from Pixie Hollow. I have a bunch from their but they're not as good as yours. Heck, they're not even as good as your DD's!
I bought that Tinkerbell birdbath is what I call it. The exact one in your pic. I loved those little fairy houses,I got those seeds too where are mine? You asked when me when am I going back we will be there 7/2-7/10/09. Not soon enough I was already thinking about going this weekend.

I wish they'd leave it up all the time! I love that stuff!
i would've stayed in the first room at sports....i love reptiles! :lmao: Well, they're cool and all but no way would I want them outside the door every time I left the room!
loved the pixie hollow pictures. we went to F&G festival in may 2008 and they had tink, but none of the other stuff. probably because the movie wasn't out yet. it's all so cute! especially the little houses.
i bought one of these last year and it's outside my office window - i love it! it was only like $27 which i thought was really reasonable.
by the way, did your DD get a haircut? it looks really cute!
Yep! She did. She was tired of the super long style.
awesome pics!!!
Thanks! :goodvibes
I know what you mean about the puppets. We have gotten them in the past and I think the fascination with them lasted all of one day at home and thet never came out agin.
Shoot, my kids would lose interest in it before they left Epcot for the day! :lmao:
she was our Mulan last year too! And I'm with you on those stupid puppets!! My excuse is they are not allowed on the airplane...you know, sticks and stuff.
Good one, but one of these days some kid in the seat next to your DD is going to have his or her puppet out on the plane and you are going down! :rotfl2:
:lmao: about the puppets -- just when you thought the battle was over...:rotfl: My two are like that as well!
Yep. And I'm not done yet. There's more!
That would be awesome , they would smile for you that's how it always is , they smile and pose for everyone else but me . LOL
Love the update you and DD's pictures of the Flower & Garden Festival are just beautiful . The fairy ones are so detailed , we missed this area somehow all together on our trip and now seeing it in every one's TR it makes me so mad we never saw it ! The pictures of Baby DS in that coonskin cap are just precious !
By the way my pictures are not showing up on my TR right now , wanted to ask you if you knew why that might be ?
Once you hit your maximum views per month you will have to upgrade your PB account. If it's saying bandwith exceeded. I haven't been to your page yet.
Went to the park today. They have added a bunch of kiddie rides. I'll have a huge update in the WL/Thong report sometime tomorrow. The admission isn't too much and they offer military discounts.
I love his new hat! :goodvibes
You're one many who said they missed it. Did you guys not get the big flower and garden book with all the info in it? It told ya all about the F & G festival.
That same racoon hat will pop up in my Disneyland trip. In fact, I've been trying to figure out what to do with it. That's one thing about taking a trip w/ Grandparents. We came home with a lot more frivolous space clutter. That's a good idea for fronteir Donald. Where is he found?
LOL It's so cute though. At WDW that Donald hangs out in Frontierland. I met him near the turkey leg cart once and another time he was up under a covered porch near LTT. That would be a gorgeous pic!
Apparently all kids LOVE those puppets! In every TR I read the parents have to pull their kids away from those puppets LOL
I love all the pictures from Pixie Hollow. I have a bunch from their but they're not as good as yours. Heck, they're not even as good as your DD's!
Yep. They're popular! Girl...all the pics I've seen have been good so far. What are you talking about?
I bought that Tinkerbell birdbath is what I call it. The exact one in your pic. I loved those little fairy houses,I got those seeds too where are mine? You asked when me when am I going back we will be there 7/2-7/10/09. Not soon enough I was already thinking about going this weekend.
Our seeds are MIA too. You go in July? You are a brave person! Wow.
Puppets scare me......
I wish my kids were scared of them.

Great F&GF pictures! I especially love all the fairy ones. Those are adorable!
Thanks! I'm having a hard time now deciding on a favorite time of year.
we went through the tent with the butterflys and my sister is afraid of bugs. mind you she is almost 30. i never saw her run out of a place so fast. so i did not really get to see what was in the tent
OMG really? That's funny. Butterflies aren't bugs. LOL I don't think I've ever met or heard of anyone that doesn't like them.
I love your F&G and Pixie Hollow pics. I walked by it in the rain but never got back there again to see the fairies. We saw the same Mulan 2 weeks ago. Oh the puppets are the worst :headache: Kaylee wants one every trip too. Lckily none have made it home with us yet. She did buy and Umbrella from France though with flowers and her name on it.
No! Are you serious? We went to see them two times. (We had to let the boys see...)
We bought an umbrella too. You know where it is? Yeah, me either.
OooOooooOOo!! Gorgeous pix!! I love that you had some alone time w/your DD! So fun!
Much needed alone time. It was so much fun just hanging out. When she gets older I want to take a trip with her alone somewhere. Can't be WDW though. The boys wouldn't let us go there without them.
Fantastic TR, I love all the pictures. What lenses do you use to take these? They look like nice wide-angle shots!
Am loving all the F and G festival pictures too. Wish I took more pics of the floral scluptures. Can't wait to read more!!
Nope. All I took to WDW was the 18-55 and my 55-200 (after someone stole my underwear at CSR I know better than to bring something expensive with me, :lmao:) The only time I used the 55-200 was on some pineapple shots...the rain was so bad. I didn't take nearly as many pictures as I would have liked.
DD's pictures are beautiful - she sure got your photographic eye! You may not be able to do Mom/daughter trip - you could schedule time together like that each trip, especially as babyDS gets older - it won't be so hard for Sidney to be alone with him.
Aw. I'll tell her you said that. What I like about kids...they take pics of stuff we don't even see or notice. I love coming home and looking back over the pictures they took. If he wasn't a runner I'd feel okay with the boys going off and doing their own thing but when that kid bolts he bolts! :scared1:

>>Now back on topic...I've only stayed at POFQ in March 09 and POR in May 09. I have never stayed on-site before and boy, was I missing out! I'm also planning on going back in December. I have family and my best friend & goddaughter in Tampa/Orlando and I go quite a few times a year, but in past years, didn't go into WDW. I have no idea why , late bloomer, I guess!!
When in December? I could never go to FL and not doo Disney.<<
I been down to FL lots, but never really did Disney before my big March trip.
I should be down for the December 4/5-12/13 week. I'm thinking this year to stay at Disney for Dec 5-10, then head over to visit the family.
>>Though, I did like POFQ alot more than POR. Maybe I'll try CSR for December? Hmm....
The NEW rooms are amazing! I'll have a ton of pics at the end of the report for ya'll to see.<<
I'll wait to see/read your opinion on Coronado. I know I want to stay at a moderate; I think the deluxes are a bit out of my solo price range. :goodvibes

Let me tell you, I'm pretty sad about it. I love your pictures! It was like I was there. So, thank you! <<
We stumbled upon it but I had the big guide so I knew there was a fairy garden from that. I would have hunted it down.<<
I did have the big guide, but I had so many things in my head, that I just didn't remember the Fairy Garden. My TR explains alot of it! :rolleyes1

I'm really going to want to take a spring trip during F&G by the end of this report I think! So gorgeous! I love Pixie Hollow and all those fairy houses - how cool! Has "Gabby" ever played fairies on pixiehollow.com ? Maddie just loves playing there - it's pretty fun. They did that flower garden to look just like the website! I see another movie comes out in fall - I guess that will be apart of our library :)
Do you do the thing where you build a fairy and pick the colors and hair and all that. Claire is obsessed with it, but it makes my computer go so slow, so I finally told her it broke. LOL

Where was it located at? Up in the front middle...you know where the photopass guy stands to do the fountain picture? Right there. I want to see this. Boo Hoo! It was so pretty. I liked how they had huge playgrounds all over Epcot for the kids to play in. They were everywhere!

That kid loves a hat. He also got an engineer cap. It makes "choo choo" noises. He loves that thing. We sat up his monorail and trains tonight and of course he wore it while he played. So cute. It's a really cute hat too. I'll have to show ya.

I bet it was in the area that was all boarded up under consturction when we were there in March then. (When walking in that would be the backside of the ball.) I looked at the dates for next year the the F&G festival starts much earlier. So if dH and I go during our normal time, it should be up.

Hi there! Just found your TR through your signature in Lynn's report!
So let's see :) Your family is adorable! Love all the pictures of them...daughter/sunset, son/raccoon hat, etc...
Your pictures of F&G are so amazing! You have convinced me that I have to go! If for anything to bring those giraffes back to my house for my lawn!! Now I have some serious thinking to do because I was planning a trip for next October--already have this October planned--and I am taking my neighbor and after looking at your pictures I just know she would love that time of year too! Hi! I just discovered your TR! Love it - now I need to go back and read your other ones!
Hey! Welcome aboard! This is the first time I've had two going at once. It's a little hard but fun at the same time. All of them are different. And all are fun reads!
I bet it was in the area that was all boarded up under consturction when we were there in March then. (When walking in that would be the backside of the ball.) I looked at the dates for next year the the F&G festival starts much earlier. So if dH and I go during our normal time, it should be up.
Yep. You could also get to it through the MouseGears store...it would have been right outside of that. With it starting earlier I don't think it will cross with Star Wars like it did this time. It was nice hitting both things at once. Why don't ya'll ever go during the free dining promo? I love that time of year. The heat doesn't bother me, it's the same here in MB.
Your TR is great you are so lucky your only 8 hours away I wish I was that close
What day do you leave in August? We arrive on the 23rd. 9 hours flies by now. I don't mind it....I wish Walt would have built WDW here though. :lmao:
Oooh, I love the tinkerbell section of the garden!!! I want that tink birdbath! :goodvibes
I did to. Wasn't it pretty? I should have gotten the bird bath. I thought about it.

Lynn is just a doll isn't she? Thanks for coming over. Nice to have some new readers joining up. The giraffes are grogeous! I wouldn't mind them on my lawn either. As you can see I like to go at all different times of the year. I have to say my favorite time is Christmas. I love the Osborne lights more than anything.

After we met Mulan we explored China a little further. Notice the big bright sun!? It's still out. The boys went ahead again to do some of the Kim Possible adventure. Gabby and I hung out and took some pictures. We both love the way China looks and I can't wait to eat at Nine Dragons in August.

We decided to go shopping for a bit. Gabby's money was burning a hole in her pocket. These beautiful umbrellas caught her eye.
http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/May%202009%20WDW/May20th/May20th175.jpg
http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/May%202009%20WDW/May20th/May20th174.jpg
She wanted a pink one....of course the guy was sold out of the small pink one outside. No other color would do. She had to have pink. So daddy was sent a text to look for pink umbrellas. A couple of the stores carried them and I knew they were off doing the KP thing inside and the last thing I wanted to do was take money bags into a big store! LOL She wants everything she sees.
I take a few pics of the buildings. (I have to, no matter how many times we go I am always taking more pics of World Showcase.)

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/May%202009%20WDW/May20th/May20th179.jpg
I turn around and she's at it again....Grrrrr!
http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/May%202009%20WDW/May20th/May20th180.jpg
And now her brother is playing with them too.
http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/May%202009%20WDW/May20th/May20th181.jpg
So I get an idea...I'll just let her play with them for a while. Interest in the puppets would only last 15 minutes or so anyway and I wasn't in a hurry. So they played and I took pictures. Everyone was happy.
http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/May%202009%20WDW/May20th/May20th182.jpg
http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/May%202009%20WDW/May20th/May20th183.jpg
And just like that the puppet obsession was over! Yay! Sidney was off waiting for them to locate pink umbrellas...eventually they found us one. Meanwhile I went ahead into the shop. Gabby wanted to look at the dolls. It's not American Girl so I felt I was safe from spending.
http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/May%202009%20WDW/May20th/May20th184.jpg

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/May%202009%20WDW/May20th/May20th186.jpg
Then she sees this. "Mama...wouldn't my American Girl dolls like to play with this one?" Oh dear, there's your dad texting. We must go now. He found your PINK umbrella.
http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/May%202009%20WDW/May20th/May20th187.jpg
I get out as fast as I can. I sure didn't want her to see those gorgeous girls dresses and outfits they sell in there. She would have wanted one in every color!
We head over the bridge to play Kim Possible some more and I take some more pictures...

That kid loves a hat. He also got an engineer cap. It makes "choo choo" noises. He loves that thing. We sat up his monorail and trains tonight and of course he wore it while he played. So cute. It's a really cute hat too. I'll have to show ya.[/QUOTE]
OMG! The hat sounds so cute! Definitely show me it! The monorail and trains sound like fun! My DS would love it! Trains are another Obession of HIS!!!!
Those puppets OMG! My DD 14 still plays with those dang things when we walk by them! so I guess they catch all kids eyes!!

Of course I think the WS pictures are wonderful. I didn't get enough of those while I was there. The KP adventure sounds cool too. We didn't get a chance to try that either. All things I'm going to have to find time for in Dec!
And for the record, I wouldn't have settled for anything less than the pink umbrella too ;) :rotfl:

Love the pics in china. my girls like the umbrealla too. Currently purple and blue are their favorite colors! Oh and the puppets! We used to have one of those. It got lost when we moved:confused3:confused3
I think it was a pink flamingo.
My girls can't wait to play Kim Possible. They are also planning to do penny pressing and the passports. We have 3 days scheduled for Epcot, so i think they'll have plenty of time! Do you remember where you got your passports? can we get them before hand at World of Disney or just in epcot?

Great minds think alike! ;) Umbrella's are much nicer IMO. Do they look the same in France? Ya know every time I go to WDW I notice something I didn't notice before. That's why I like it so much. Especially this year with the crowds down and all. You can really enjoy it. Not good for Disney but great for me! I know you said no but you should really reconsider a trip in December. Look at all the people going the same week. It's going to be so much fun!

That doesn't surprise me one bit! Those two...they would be a lot of trouble together if we lived closer. Ya know it? They never stopped. It was talk talk talk. I didn't play in the countries as much as I wanted because of the rain but we hit a few several times. Stupid rain! :headache:

Evidently so. KP is fun. The only bad thing now is everyone plays it so you see the "surprise" before you get to do it. I suggest going early in the day or late at night.

Oh I am so sorry you lost your puppet. For real. I'm not kidding. Did someone lose a lot of stuff or just certain things? They will like KP! The passports are sold all over Epcot. They're usually up by the registers in every store. They're only $10! They're so cute and I think it's the best deal in Epcot. I've never seen them anywhere other than Epcot...
So, did they enjoy the Kim Possible thing? Would you do it again?
This was our second time playing. They have 6 different kinds you can do. (I think it's 6) It was more fun back in March. Now everyone is playing it so you'll go to your call and another family will be there finding the surprise. That part is not as fun. I'd try and do it as soon as WS opens.
OOh I love China!! Especially the umbrellas. So cute. I have a purple one. Have to get a pink one next time haha.

I'm just guessing you guys have a house full of Disney stuff! Am I right? We have a DIsney bathroom in the main living area....so everyone sees it and I'm sure many think we're nuts. Upstairs the kids each have Disney rooms and you see WDW pics everywhere. I used to have a Disney comforter on my bed. LOL
How did you miss the HUGE dragon!?
LOL on the puppets!
Mine have a thing for the masks....I've escaped so far.....

Oh no. Those masks are everywhere too. Actually the umbrella still is in tact! She takes very good care of it. I'm very proud of her. She also bought a necklace and a pair of earrings. She still has it all. SURPRISINGLY!

After playing with the puppets and purchasing a lovely pink umbrella we made our way over to Norway. Kim Possible brought us into the VIking Church (which I never knew until just then you could go inside of!) I know...I know....I can see ya'll laughing. I live at WDW about 30-40 days a year and I never noticed it! Well inside they have a little museum type thing. I didn't read up on it too much. The kids were playing the game and I was in a hurry to get out. It's small and it was full of people. I took a couple of pictures first...

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/May%202009%20WDW/May20th/May20th193.jpg
I really miss the playground they used to have here. I get why they took it away though. However when they moved the entire ship I was baffled! It took so much of the theme away from the area. I miss it. This is all that remains...
http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/May%202009%20WDW/May20th/May20th194.jpg
I don't know how Dash missed it all these times but he never noticed the grass growing on the roof tops. He was amazed by this. I couldn't laugh at him though....after all I'd walked past the church a million times and never went inside!
http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/May%202009%20WDW/May20th/May20th195.jpg
http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/May%202009%20WDW/May20th/May20th196.jpg
Gabby was loving her new umbrella...too bad it didn't do any good in the real rain! She could have definitely gotten some good use out of it if it had. This was the only day I allowed her to play with it in the parks. Good thing too. The rain would have ruined it. (Brothers can do that too by the way...:rolleyes1)
http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/May%202009%20WDW/May20th/May20th197.jpg
This is the only troll I took pictures of. It's not the prettiest thing to look at in the Flower and Garden festival! What made it cute was the little visitor he had hanging out on him! Check out his nose!

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/May%202009%20WDW/May20th/May20th201.jpg
Back inside the shop for more KP adventures! They like to get ya in the shop with this game. It's funny how the "events" happen near all the cute toys and things the kids want to buy! Disney did that one right!
http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/May%202009%20WDW/May20th/May20th202.jpg
The kids love playing...this was our second game. They did another back in March. I think DS was kind of bored by the end of this one though. It wasn't as much fun with huge crowds of people playing. You'd see the "mission" while waiting in lne to do it. In March only a few people were playing so this only happened once or twice. This time there were groups of people at every stop.

We were right by the Maelstrom ride so we went on. I think this ride is totally cute. We like it. The Polar Bears are my favorites!
http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p398/MrsGavinDeGraw/May%202009%20WDW/May20th/May20th205.jpg
After the boat ride we actually stayed for the movie! It wasn't so bad. We ended up in the very front row. THAT was bad. You couldn't see good but it worked out. Of course the end of the ride ends up back in the GIFT shop! Once again I survived WS without having to buy viking hats! Yay! Gabby wanted a pic with this guy though...

Hi and WELCOME! Baby Gators have parents and I felt sure they were close behind. That was the worst room ever! Swamp view. Eww! I think the puppets have something in them to lure kids in. I've been in the main China shop before and have seen 30 kids at a time playing with puppets. Looking back the rain didn't bother me. The only thing I did not care for was the lightning. The one time it was real bad we just sat in the room for a it and let it pass. Then we had dinner and went to the MK for EMH.
I have finally made my way through 2 of your 3 older TR's and thought I should get in on this one before it hits 100 pages!! I'm really enjoying your details and pics!
Well, which one did you like the best? I think they're all different in some way. I'm just getting started on this one. There's so much more to go.
Grat update Tammy. The trolls are kinda freakin me out. lol
I have never been on maelstrom:confused3 Dunno why-just never got around to it I guess.
For real? You have to ride it at least once. It's a dark water ride. And there's a movie at the end. Trolls are a little scary huh? You know they hide under all the bridges. LOL
great update!!!
i sure hope alot of people are not playing when we go to play ... your the 5the person i heard say its not fun if people are on the same clues as you and you see them do it 1st....
Thanks. I say go over to WS first thing and play. Then the others will be watching you hit the surprise first!
my kids can't wait to do kim possible and my husband who was really wanting to skip the whole world showcase is now totally on board since there are kim possible missions. I'm sure once he gets his drink on in the world he'll be happier still:rotfl2:
Your hubby will like it as much as the kids. Mine did. And like you said...a few drinks in and everyone's comfortable.
The marketing geniuses at Disney knew to put the KP mission next to toys? :rotfl: I agree with Farrah, the trolls freak me out... trolls, clowns, squirrels... they're all the same!:lmao:
I love that your family goes so much, but you still notice new things every time! I think it's one (of many) reasons that your TRs are so good! :goodvibes
Okay trolls and clowns I see but squirrels? They're so cute! Tll me the story...:rolleyes1 Did a squirrel get you when you were little?
I've never ridden Maelstrom, gonna hafta hit that next time. I didn't see that troll topiary i dont think. I may have and just forgotten.
The picture of Gabby with the pink umbrella is so adorable! She's a girl after my own heart with a pink umbrella and pink shoes :thumbsup2
Definitely! Next time you ride. The troll was sort of hidden along the main walkway but next to a little shop. (One of the portable kind)
It was a pink umbrella or no umbrella!
Another great update. Just a few days until we go. i'll have lots to catch up on when we get back!
OMG less than a week!!!!!!! You guys are going to have so much fun!!!! Are you gonna do a trip report this time around? I think you should!
Hmm, I've never noticed the grass on the rooftops either. I'll have to pay better attention next time.
It's on the roof of the pastry shop. That place has some good food! And drinks. Let me say GREAT drinks!
Once again, great update! Love the tip about the church. And the umbrella is cute and I was already trying to figure out what to say to DD when she asks for one along the lines of NO! But....... shielding her from the sun is a valid need. She just might get it yet!
There ya go...just watch out for the umbrella. It hurts when it sticks you. I liked the red one but Gabby insisted on pink.
Great updates we did the KP when we went last . We can't wait to do it again in the countries we choose not to do at that time. DD looks so happy with her new pink umbrella.
Isn't there 6 total? I think we did 3 different ones. I don't know if they'll do it next time or not. The second time they did it this past trip the kids kept fighting. I made them stop. It was driving me crazy!
I think my dd would love the KP game! She's only seen KP once or twice, but she was on an episode of Lilo and Stitch and jackie now thinks she's just the greatest! i think she would like the game, but i don't know if it would be too hard for her.
You probably all would enjoy it. You do the reading part and let her press the mission button. It's all good. I don't think I ever saw the Lilo and Stitch with KP on it. Now that they have the KP game in Epcot I think they should move the characters from DHS to WS for the meet and greet.

I am looking forward to trying the KP game. I know my daughter will love it. I want to ride Maelstrom also. We had planned to ride it in Dec. but my son was scared of almost every ride so we didn't even try.

Hi Tammy. I've been reading along on your December/March TR and I'm loving it, so I followed the link in your siggy to this one. Your F&G pictures are gorgeous (as are all of your pics for that matter), it really makes me want to take a spring trip to check them out!

You'll like it. Maelstrom is a fun ride. It's dark so he probably wouldn't have liked it either. Hopefully this time he'll do good. :goodvibes

Thanks for reading! I hope to get the other report finished up soon. Every season has something good to offer at WDW. I've tried to get it all on this year. So far so good. We've seen quite a bit. I still haven't tried out the Food and Wine festival. I have to get that one in and then I'm good.
Anyone ready for an update!? I'm going to work on it right now!

After visiting Norway we went over to Mexico. It was starting to rain a little off and on. We went inside to finish up the KP mission and to meet Donald Duck! I liked meeting him inside a lot better than outside in the woods. He was more playful today too.

The rain had cleared for now so we went over to the Mexico stand for some counter service. I don't even remember what Sidney ordered but the kids had the chips n cheese with a chicken tortilla. They only ate the chips with cheese. As soon as Sidney went up to order the rain started to drizzle. I took the kids and ran over to Norway as fast as I could for a table under cover. You could se the rain coming in...and it was going to be BAD! A couple of minutes later Sidney joined us. He barely escaped the start of the heavy rain. It was pouring down and everyone was running up by our table to get out of it. Honestly that was a big PITA when you're trying to eat. Go hang in the church or something. I don't want your kids picking their noses over my food!!! Ugh.
Anyway the wind started going crazy, the rain was coming into the covered area and it got bad! This one kid started to cry and scream, "Mama I'm scared! It's not supposed to do this at Disney World!?" This kid was about 4 or 5 years old and was hysterical. I had to laugh at how they thought it didn't rain and storm at Disney. It was too cute. Hate to break it to ya kid but they lied when they said it was the happiest place on Earth. It can be but not on this day! Luckily we had finished up our food. By now this rain was pounding in and it HURT when it hit you. It was so bad and it was pouring down. Everyone made a run for the Norway gift shop and I took a shortcut through the bakery. Still got wet but not soaked...and I would have been soaked had I went the other way. You couldn't walk through the store. It was full of people too. (And everyone had left me! Hello!?) I finally catch back up and they're back by where you go onto Maelstrom again. So....guess what we did? We rode it again! It's not like we could do anything else! You couldn't see to walk!
I had been texting with Leeann most of the day. We kept missing one another and we were trying to make a plan to meet up if the stupid rain would stop for 5 minutes! It finally slowed down enough to where you could see and walk again. (However you were walking in about 3-5 inches of water right after this storm! It was a mess!) We were ready to leave Norway. Enough already. We made our way over to Innoventions for a bit. The kids played some games and then we headed over to the Living Seas. Sorry, no pictures. You wouldn't have wanted to pull your camera out either! We rode Nemo and looked at the fish for a bit. Then Leeann sent me a text and we went over to meet them.
They were in the Innoventions we'd just left out of. Gabby and Lindsey hit it off immediately. (Leeann's DD) They acted like they'd known one another forever. It was so cute. They hung out and did some things there. Video games...velcro frogs...the "burning house" fire safety exhibit...and the new Piggy Bank savings game. This was really cute. Sidney took the older kids to play and I stayed with Leeann, her hubby, her baby DD and my babyDS. The little kids were so gentle with their piggy. It was the cutest thing. I do wish I had taken pictures of the kids now. They really had a great time hanging out. The rain just had me in a mood. I was ready to put on a swimsuit and enjoy the parks soaking wet! Surprisingly enough many people did this! I was told once you weren't "allowed" to wear a swimsuit into the parks!?
Anyway...we must have hung out for about an hour. Leeann and her family were so nice. We enjoyed spending time with them. They were leaving for dinner and I was ready to get back to the room and put on some dry clothes. Of course the kids had to ride Mission Space first. It was once again pouring rain outside. Me and Bolt waited for them in the gift shop. Bolt wanted the Space Mickey really bad and would not put him back. We ended up buying him and the lady at the counter gave me a huge plastic bag to wrap around our other stuff and my camera. Water was starting to get under the stroller so this was nice to have. A little while later the rest of the group rejoined us. I was soaked and so ready to go. We were on our way out and Gabby asked for a bouncy ball. She has asked for these since she was 2 years old and since she had her won money and we were headed back to the room I finally gave in and said...do what you want. It's your money! She was so excited. She picked out a Tinkerbell ball. It was really cute but she has not touched it since we've been home. Go figure...:rolleyes1
It was finally time to leave! I was miserable by now and waterlogged too! It was still early in the day though. We still had plans...I just needed to get dry first!

When it is warm in Florida, the potential for rain is high almost everyday. I think what people are seeing now is just excessive. We usually go in July and expect it to rain everyday, but typically it just rains for an hour or so and then the sun is back out.

Tammy, you are bringing back that rain so vividly! The first night I arrived, it rained. And that night was not so bad, hey, you're in the MK, you make the best of it! But it got old the next day and the next....until I was so GLAD to see the sun after that!! :cool2:

Love the update. I have been there a fgew times with rain, usually it's a quicky and moves on, but on our last day in 1997 it was an all day one and it got to be miserable and since we had been there all week we decided to leave early since we drove. Last year we had a bit of rain here and there, but nothing too bad for us. The night we went to 1900PF it started raining after we left and we were taking the omonrail overt to MK to catch the bus and it was raining so hard and they were having the Pirate and Princess party. TONS of people were leaving and it took foerever to get to the bus stop. People walked so slow. That was also the night that Claire had been sick most of the day...and so that made it kind of worse.
I think lots of rain like that isn;t normal though. Do you have that in Aug/Sept when you went since that is hurricane season? I know I read one persons experience when a hurrican came through and she said that they didn;t do much, but pop was really good to them.

You're busy watching your kids...you will miss a lot until they're old enough to do for themselves. That's funny. Well, at least you didn't tell them the Polar Bears were real. :rotfl2:
Your exactly right ! Then when they can do for themselves , they'll be in the no WDW stage . I went through one from about middle school to high school . LOL Then I guess DH & I will have to leave them at home and take a trip by ourselves , so I can take it all in . Yeah , didn't think about telling them that one maybe , I will have to use the Polar Bears the next time . :lmao:
The Mexico pictures were adorable ! I can't believe all the rain you encountered and the part about the people closing in on your meal and there kids picking there noses hilarious ! When we went at the end of May beginning of June in 2007 , we had the same kind of weather , trental down pours almost half of our trip . You hate not to go to the parks though , cause you feel like you are wasting your money but then again it makes your day miserable being wet too! Hope the next update brings sunny sky's !

OMG I can't believe the rain! I saw some pictures of it while it was going on the week you were down there, it was crazy! Daytona raceway was like completely under water. That would have definitely put me in a mood. I hope you weren't too far away from the main building at ASSp! I don't remember how close you said you were.

We swam :boat: our way back to the truck and went back to ASSp to regroup. We put on some dry clothes and got ourselves something good to eat.
Gabby decorated the window and took some pictures with her camera. I had cleaned out her bedroom the week before we left and came across a bunch of Disney odds and ends. I was going to throw them all away and then I thought about the windows. Of course every night they'd take the toys out and play with them so I'm going to stick all these toys in a bag to bring along each time. It can be the Disney "toy box".

While we were at Epcot we bought Bolt his own passport book. The older kids have them already and in March the baby wanted one but we never got around to getting his. These are the best things to get your kids! It starts out as a plain book....it comes with stickers for each WS country. They decorate it however they want. Then you take it to each of the Kidcot stands and they will stamp them with the date. Many times these people will write things inside in their language. It's really cool. We've also used ours for autographs when the kids meet the characters around WS. We were told by Aladdin's group and Sleeping Beauty that we were the first to have those books signed. There's plenty of extra pages inside. We take them along on each trip and they'll make perfect keepsakes one day! They're ONLY 9.95! GREAT deal!
Bolt took this time to fill his book up. He loved putting all the stickers on! Of course I never brought them back out with us this time...didn't want them to get ruined in the rain.

After we ate and regrouped the rain had let up a little. DHS was open until 10 so we decided to go over for a bit. I did not bring my camera but Gabby brought hers. As soon as we went into DHS it started raining a little and it was lightning too. :umbrella: Nice. We took a right and walked through the shops while the rain passed. The store that puts you out by the Beauty and the Beast show has the cutest adult clothes! When I go back I want to buy a couple of things for myself. You have to check that store out!
The rain finally stopped. Yay! We went over to :darth: Star Tours :yoda: and got the front seat again. I avoided this ride for the past couple of years because I thought it was more shaky. Maybe I was thinking of Body Wars? The Star Tours ride isn't bad at all. You can barely tell you're moving. This time we had other people riding with us so it wasn't so weird.
After ST we walked down the street where they do the Osborne lights. The lightning was getting worse. Rain is one thing but the lightning freaks me out a little. I was ready to go but everyone wanted to ride Toy Story Mania before we left. We were pretty close to it so why not? On the way over we noticed the area where Darth Vader :darth: would be doing his meet and greets. No one was around :tiptoe: so we moved the rope and the kids took some pictures.

The battery was starting to die on her camera so we went ahead to TSM. The wait was only about 10 minutes. :hyper: It was still nasty when we came out so we started back to the truck. On the way out the kids saw the huge Star Wars billboard and wanted their picture taken by it. I managed to get one more out of the battery.

Once again I was soaked. The kids had ponchos so they were fine but Sidney and I...not so lucky. LOL When we got back Sidney went to the food court and got dinner. Meanwhile I called Christine (DisneyQuilter) and we talked forever. :hyper2: I can't wait to meet them this Summer. We must have been on the phone for an hour. The rain had been so bad that the football field by our room was flooded! What a sight that was!
I was ready for a good nights sleep...hopefully tomorrow will bring better weather. Or maybe not. :ssst:

o boy the rain. I stepped in a river pretty much at mk on may 23 at night when the down pour was going on thank god i had crocs on everyone else in my group had sneakers and socks... i hope the rain did not dampin your fun we made a joke out of it
I stepped in a lot of rivers...haha. I wore crocs but I have the flip flops that have cloth thongs. They'd get ice cold when they were wet. LOL This trip was a big no no for regular shoes. I bet they were miserable!
Thats sounds like fun! I definitely would have put my bathing suit on and went in the parks! We did this in August our first day it poured we got soaked and went back and put on suitsw/ tanks and shorts over top:goodvibes and off we went again! :goodvibesCan't wait for the rest! :thumbsup2
Hey girl! I didn't have my phone on me today. Didn;t get your text 'til late. Last night it was really stormy here. The wind was bad and the lightning was terrible! The lights even blinked off. I hope it's not going to be one of those kinds of years. :headache: I will be bringing an umbrella with me this time. Raincoats, ponchos, all of it.
Oh My, that does sound like a miserable rain storm.:scared1: Makes you feel bad for the families that were on a "once in a lifetime trip".:sad2:
I know. It was horrible. That little kid was scared to death. I took video...you'll see a storm later. It was like that every day!
Ugh stupid rain!!!
I know, it is so pretty inside Mexico. I would like to try thr restaurant, but reading reviews and seeing pictures just makes it sound bad, and look bad.
I love the pics you took inside there.
I wish they had plain nachos as an appetizer! I'd go in for those and a margarita. Man that sounds good right now. :rotfl:

Aw! Poor kiddies...thinkin' it didn't storm like that at WDW. I know I used to think it too!
Well I knew better. Every single time we ever went we'd get at least one rain storm. OMG 10 more days! Hello!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That rain doesn't sound too fun :( That was a crazy week!
Um no....ot was a mess.
ah i'm all caught up over here!!
i'm so jealous yall got to go back!! ahhh! i'm enjoying it!
when are yall going for free dining? i'm still trying to convince bobby!
Hey you! I never got codes from you...you gonna send some still? ;)
OMG that would be sooooooooooooooooo cool if you and Bobby came for free dining! My dates are August 23rd - September 5th. Please try and come! If not then try for Christmas....we'll be there Nov 29th- Dec 6. I don't think Bobby needs too much convincing. My guess is he loves Disney as much as you do!
The rain was insane, wasn't it??? Sounds like you had fun though. Yay for DISmeets!
I'm bringing a wetsuit next time! Better safe than soaked right? I wish we could have met.
Oh my goodness, all that wetness! I'm getting nervous! LOL. But I'm pretty sure Sept is miserably hot and not as rainy?
Im hoping so anyway!
We got storms a few times but it was nothing like this. Good news...FL is no longer in a drought.
I love the pictures at night that you took without flash - awesome
so cool the girls hit it off right away.
Thanks. The girls are total BFF's now...they were so cute. Gabby is like that with everyone she meets. She met Kaylee too and they were the same way. She keeps asking when she can play with them again. It's so cute.
When it is warm in Florida, the potential for rain is high almost everyday. I think what people are seeing now is just excessive. We usually go in July and expect it to rain everyday, but typically it just rains for an hour or so and then the sun is back out.
Yep, this wasn't normal. This was crazy! Hopefully you'll have yourself a nice dry vacation! :thumbsup2
Oh and HELLO to a fellow South Carolinian!
Tammy, you are bringing back that rain so vividly! The first night I arrived, it rained. And that night was not so bad, hey, you're in the MK, you make the best of it! But it got old the next day and the next....until I was so GLAD to see the sun after that!! :cool2:
And it is a bit hilarious how everyone huddles in the doorways. Like a big group huddle. :grouphug:
Everytime I look at those velcro frogs, I think, next time we really should do that....:goodvibes
I know...spread out a little find something to do. Ugh! Velcro frogs rule!
Last year we dealt with four tropical storms/hurricanes during our trip and no, it was not that wet. I live in a hurricane prone area and it's not like that when a storm comes through. It was bad rain....loads of rain....and storms to match. The lightning made me nervous. We made the best of it though. We were at Disney and I wasn't about to let the weather win!

Exactly! You feel forced to go no matter what. Now when we get a bad storm we all say, "I feel like we're in Disney again!" :lmao: It's kind of funny. You should go during the free dining promo next year! Think of the money you guys would save!
Did you friend have a nice weekend here? Did she get to the new Disney store? I need to go back out there. Maybe they got some new stuff.
Yuck. Rain!! I'm sure we'll get soaked at least one day too! We leave on Friday! Going to Universal on Sat and Sun and start at Disney on Mon. We still haven't met Donald in Mexico. It's always so crowded there and the line to see him is very long!
Please do a trip report this time! Gabby would love to read it. You have to meet Donald! He's so much fun. He used to hang out with friends over there but I haven't seen them in a while. Are you packed and ready to go? Ya'll stop by and pick me up. Oh wait...I am blacked out for the Summer. Oh well, next time.
Well, that certainly sounds like it was very nasty, miserable, windy, awful, depressing rain strom!!!!! :sad2: It seems like it just wouldn't let up! Your pics inside Mexico were very pretty. :goodvibes
I just looked over your TR. Looks like you guys had fun! Who was left at the office if everyone was at Disney? :rotfl2:
OMG yes....that week was a wet stormy one!
It was great meeting you and your family. The girls really hit it off didn't they! Lindsey wants to go back in August so she can hang out with Gabby. I don't think it's in the cards right now because everything we touch is turning to crap lately but maybe December is in the works!
 Oh you guys should come back. Do a girls trip. Get Kaylee and Nichole to come too. I want to do a girls trip with Gabby but the boys wont hear of it. I'm glad we met. I'm sure we would have hung out more had the rain not messed everything up.
I feel really bad for all of you who had to endure all that rain. I know what you mean about needing to change clothes. I hate being wet, and my husband hates it even more than I do. But, I guess being at DW in the rain is better than being at home in the sun.
That last sentence says it all! :goodvibes We were lucky in December and March. We were due for some rain...hopefully it all hit us at once and now we're good for another year!
OMG I can't believe the rain! I saw some pictures of it while it was going on the week you were down there, it was crazy! Daytona raceway was like completely under water. That would have definitely put me in a mood. I hope you weren't too far away from the main building at ASSp! I don't remember how close you said you were.
I saw that too. Sidney was like LOOK AT THE RACE TRACK!!! The first room they tried to put us in was in the swamp. The one we stayed in was right by the food court and all. We were in the first part of the football section on the second floor. Perfect room. Those rooms were pretty cute! But I HATE the location of the ASR's. They're so far away from everything!
Great update. It looks liek you guys still had lots of un even with the rain. And how cool that the TSM line was so short. One of the benefits of the rain too.
We did. We love TSM. We ride it a lot when we go. I hope to smash Sidney's score one of these days! This time I messed up my arm trying to play too fast. I have issues with the tendon in my right arm.
hey girl! my 2 computers pretty much suck and have gone to pc/mac heaven..for now. so i apologize for not replying often! great new pics! loved the redneck kitchen and totally want a pop tart now! also, where do you get that passport book?? it would make an awesome souvenir for kayla to bring back to show her class!! and i will get brownie points with the teacher ;)
Hope you are well!
Don't ya hate that? I don't know what's up with Dis lately but sometimes it won't even load. Just dis though. Nothing else. I'll do a reply then the stupid thing freezes and wont post. :headache: Pop Tart...lol. The kids finished those off this morning. They actually lasted a long time huh?
The passport can be bought all over Epcot. They keep them up by the registers. They're so worth the $10! They give you crap about school too? I thought the northern schools were okay with family vacations? I think it's ridiculous how they act when you take a family vacation. They can kiss my FOOT!
We're doing good. Bret Michaels was supposed to play here tonight but he canceled because of the incident at the Tony's. Poor thing. I smell a lawsuit coming on. He rescheduled for August. I guess it's going to be a busy month....Papa Roach, Bret, and Disney! WOO HOO! :woohoo: How's your Summer so far?

Is the free dining promo always in August ? We would love to either go when there having the Halloween Party or Christmas Party . Christmas would probably be the first choice . I don't know if we can do it next year though . I plan on going to Maggie Valley , NC w/ the Grandparents and also paying off some bills with our tax return so I don't know if there will be anything left . We may not be able to go back till 2011.
Yeah my Bestie had a great time in MB . They went to the Sun-fest and met Jackson from Hannah Montana . They went to the Disney Store at Broadway On The Beach but didn't get anything and they never made it over to the new Disney Store off 501.
Great update love all the Star Wars pictures from DHS  Cute little toys the kiddies used to decorate the window , never thought of putting little toys down there we just used window clings . Too bad it rained like crazy , but you can tell your group was troopers through it all !

Great, albeit SOGGY, updates! I'm all caught up. ITA about the adult store by Beauty and the Beast...I almost got a few things there...those hoodies looked dangerous. And pricey and I wasn't sure if I'd really wear them at home. But CUTE stuff!
Space Mickey is so cute! Almost as cute as Bolt. I really hope on our next trip we can spend a serious amount of time in the WS and really "see" it, I always feel like it's rushed, and primarily a place to eat. The boys really wanted to do the KP but with the bigger kids, it just didn't work. Now that they've been once and with a larger group (assuming the big kids even make the next trip) if KP is still there next August, I'm definitely going to try to have the boys do it and get the passports, they'd get a kick out of that.

Is the free dining promo always in August ? No this current one is in Aug, Sept, and the beginning of Oct. Last year I got a pin for free dining that lasted all the way through Christmas! We would love to either go when there having the Halloween Party or Christmas Party . The Halloween party starts this year on Sept 4th so we will be doing that on our last free dining day. Christmas would probably be the first choice . We like the Halloween party the best. Both are cute but Halloween is just more fun! I don't know if we can do it next year though . But yes, of COURSE you are supposed to wear it at home. Which just makes me really picky about what I do buy. There is a couple of things I wish I would have gotten, as always, but I just try to make sure if I do buy clothing (versus the 20 million coffee cups I have) that I'll wear it and it isn't too "young" for me, my paranoia with the hoodies lol!
But I'm telling ya, if those red minnie mouse sweat shorts are still there...in a year, they've got my name on them!

When you exit spaceship earth you go in to the room where there are different things to do before going outside. there are some kiosks with computers scan through it find you pics. You can email yourself or family and friends.

This surfer area is cute too but the pool is so ugly. I can't believe they haven't added something to it to make it look better.

The cement pattern by the pool is nice.

I have a bunch more. Just no time to add them tonight. This resort was like a ghost town those first few days. The weekend showed an increase of some people but still it wasn't busy. The parks were but I think it was because of locals coming out for Star Wars Weekends plus the schools were out for the holiday.
Next time we'll see what else All Star Sports has to offer...
I did copy and paste and copy and paste and copy and paste:confused3. I'm going try again.

All Star Sports look cute! The pools at Pop are better though. I can't believe how empty those pics :goodvibes. I usually don't like value resorts because they are so busy and not relaxing enough for Tom and I. But it looks nice and quiet. Kaylee even said she liked it and she is monorail snob.

I wish I could remember to take as many pictures of the resort like you do. That does look like a fun theming area.

Wow, looks like you pretty much had the resort to yourselves!

Fun pictures of All Star Sports! When we stayed there we were in the surf area. Brings back memories from that trip!

I enjoyed your pictures of AS Sports, my son would love it there. We have stayed at Movies and Pop, maybe we will try something different next time.

As always, awesome pictures. It does looks pretty quiet there. We stayed at Sports once but we were by the Might Ducks. It wasn't near as cool as where you were. It was really busy - that was the trip that Joe decided that we wouldn't stay in a value again. I wish he would reconsider but its not working so far. I could do a lot of shopping with the extra $$.
