Another Waldo Adventure BEGINS!

So, I promised myself I wouldn’t do another trip report this time. I figured people have to get tired of reading about Waldo, the wandering wingnut, right? Perhaps… but, this time I’m writing this for Waldo. I realise my dad’s coming up on his 74th birthday and really how many more pilgrimages to the Holy Land will he be able to make? Yeah, I’m thinking he’s no where near finished, but I need something to help pass the time… about 60ish more days to be exact.

This trip is a special one, you see. We’re going to Disney World to see good friends, to hang with family, to celebrate a milestone birthday, to relax after a difficult year, and finally … our first trip “home”.:cloud9:

First some intros for those who aren’t familiar with me or my family:

Here we are:
(actually me and Maddie on Casey Jr. at DLR)

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/DLRMay9002.jpg

First there’s me; Tracy aka “T” on these boards. I’m currently a SAHM mom to DD7 and DS4. We live in So. Cal, about 15 minutes from Disneyland and we’re Disney goobers.

Then there’s my Prince Charming DH; Andy. He says he’s not that into Disney as I am, but I think it’s just his cover. He wears his Mickey tee shirts proudly and sports a Disneyland AP. Yeah, he’s a Disney goober, too.

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/momspics822002.jpg

Here’s our DD7 Maddie (& Evan). She’s my Belle. She’s smart, funny, cute, sassy and a complete Disney goober. I love her! :cutie: She’s our resident “Hidden Mickey” pro and Tink lover. She finds HM's everywhere! Even in non-Disney places.

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/DLRMay9003.jpg

Next up is our DS Evan. Ahh, what can I say about my own personal Damien? This kid is sweet and spicy all rolled up into a brown little ball! You want to choke him and kiss him at the same time. He’s our Stitch and he’ll be starting Kindergarten in the fall. THANK YOU!!!:worship:

We now have our traveling companions as always… my parents.

Here’s our wandering wonder, Waldo – seriously does he need an introduction? He’s a joy to travel with – well he will be as soon as we attach a GPS to his hiney. He’ll be 74 this trip, and although he’s had a bad year with his health, he’s ready to rock Disney World even if he’s in ECV. God help us!

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDW08005.jpg

And now the peanut butter to his jelly… my mother… TE. We call her The Enabler and well, she’s just known as TE now. :teeth: This one’s a Disney goober too!

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/momspics822005.jpg

And back for another trip with us is my brother and his family, The Ducks! So not Disney goobers. But they like vacation. :teeth:

Here's my brother Rick & his wife Debbie:

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/Tracyswdwpics009.jpg

My brother is a freakin' riot. We have so much fun where ever we go - and throw Waldo into that mix and it's a laugh party! We're all 3 Gemini's and have the same twisted sense of humor! :stir: It drives our spouses crazy!

And then there's their DS16 (almost 17) Michael and their other DS12 Max. These boys are in it for the food and RNRC & Everest. They’re teenagers… they want food and rides. So they’ll be dining reviews by the boys as well. They’ll do it if I ask them to.

Michael and Mickey:
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/ricksWDWpics015.jpg

Max, trying Beverly:
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/epcotpics003.jpg

So there you have the “Who” part… and very quickly here’s the “How and Where” parts.

DH & I bought into DVC on our last trip to WDW in August 2008. Thanks to hurricane Faye our plans were foiled and we ended up taking a DVC tour to kill some time. DH fell head over heels and before we left, there was fresh ink on a beautiful new DVC contract at Kidani Village.

With the new contract we were given incentive points to use at SSR, so we decided to invite my brother and his family to join us for a 10 day trip in a 2 bedroom villa from August 4th to the 14th.

And then ALL that changed. popcorn::

First, let apologize for my lack of pictures in this installment. :upsidedow

After last years hurricane and Waldo being sick for most of the time, Waldo and TE decided they were done with WDW and made other vacation plans. I was fine with that, trust me! ;)

Our 7 month window opened and I called DVC MS for the very first time and made a reservation for my brothers family and my family in a 2 bedroom villa at SSR. I hung up the phone and without thinking casually said to Waldo, “I’ve booked my August WDW trip and I have enough points left over to book you and TE a studio if you change your mind and want to come.” No sooner had the words left my lips, when Waldo claimed they’d changed their minds. Um, ok. I did leave that open for them, didn’t I?

I started crunching numbers and realized I wouldn’t have enough points to add them for 10 days, so back to the spreadsheet for me. I came up with an alternate plan, cutting our vacation to 7 nights/8days and booking 3 studios instead. Yeah, I was a little disappointed I wouldn’t have a full kitchen or a washer/dryer – but that was OK. I took one for the team, this time. :thumbsup2 I hit the DVC member website to make sure I calculated points correctly and noticed the new “What Will You Celebrate?” scheme, errr I mean promotion and I decided to change our dates so we could officially celebrate Evan’s 5th birthday - which is Aug. 1st - with the mouse! :woohoo: I made the phone call and after a nice conversation and point transaction with CM “Michael” we were all set, including Waldo!

So our final dates are:
July 31th – August 7th @ Saratoga Springs Resort, Studio Accomodations.

http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/nn257/kimberleeseventeen/Summer08037.jpg

Now I just had to figure out some flights. I really didn’t mind the red-eye we took last year and I really, really loved AirTran, but they’ve changed their outbound flights from LAX to MCO, we decided we didn’t want to have a 4 hour layover in Milwaukee and bagged AirTran.:scared1:

We ended up using multiple airlines and scoring R/T tickets for $319 and some change. That’s pretty decent fare, if I do say so myself. :teeth: Yes, I did miss out on AA’s $99 o/w fare, but the flight times sucked, so I blew them off. Who wants to travel home at 6:00am? Blech!

Our flight plans are set and we ended up with a red-eye http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b195/i8jaffas/emoticons/tired.gif out of LAX on July 30 at 10:15pm, arriving at MCO at 6:15am then next morning (July 31) and our return flight is set to leave MCO at 6:40pm, arriving back at home at 9:00pm on August 7. Ahh, arriving at LAX on a Friday at 9pm… now that should be a joyful time!

Up next: To Dining Plan or not to Dining Plan … and how about some Annual Passes? popcorn::

My WDW trips are usually planned around some sort of DIS get together to meet old and new friends, but this year things just didn’t seem to work out.

A little DIStory… get it? DIS history? Heh heh heh… sorry. Ahem.

August 2007 – Rats In Pants and Fruity Booze! (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1567501) This was the trip in which I met fellow DISers and Team Focker Watch members, Lauralee131, PrincessV, DisneyJo and Sorul82?. We met for dinner and drinks and had such a blast together. Read the trip report(s) – you won’t be sorry!:thumbsup2

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/Tracyswdwpics106.jpg

August 2008 – "How to Lose Waldo in 10 days" (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1925898) This was the “BIG” meet with about 20 DISers and their families. We had a reunion meet at the scene of the first crime, the Polynesian’s Tambu lounge, where Jo, V, LL and I were reunited again along with about 10 of our new friends from the Team Focker Watch thread. We ended our glorious trips with a huge dinner at Catfoodgarten… ahem… Biergarten with a total of 20 DISers and their families. Meow.

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/fockerfest007.jpg

Sadly there would be no Fockerfest 2009. We all had different plans this year. Our friend DisneyJo from England wouldn’t be there until December, V was planning her trip in June due to school schedules, LL was in the middle of moving to another state, the list goes on and on. I had no choice but to travel in August, as I had to use my incentive points by the 30th.

So as I was planning my trip I got an email from my dear friend PrincessV basically saying she’d changed her plans to August, rather than June. Read her PTR on the boards right now, it’s a riot! So V was in for August. Now we had to work on Lauralee or rather, Lauralee had to work on her DH. :lmao: And holy crow, Lauralee pulled one off and managed to book an August trip after all! :woohoo: I was so excited to be vacationing with my friends again!

We always have so much fun together. Our husbands enjoy each other, our children enjoy each other, heck even Waldo loves these girls and their families! They’ve become extended family!

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/IMG_1935.jpg

Eventually I got another email from V saying our DISfriend Michelle (mlill or TheDISneyFamily) would be in WDW at the same time. I was completely overjoyed! I really just love Michelle and her family. Read her trip reports – they’re fabulous! This family knows how to do Disney! ::yes::

So now, not only would I have my 2 amigas, but I would be meeting a new amiga! And I’m still holding out for my 3rd amiga, Sharkb8. :teeth:

Ok, so now you’ve got the history, let’s move on.

To Dining Plan or not to Dining Plan.

Let it be known that I hate the dining plan. :snooty: There I said it and I’m owning it. My family on the other hand, loves the DDP. Waldo, TE, and The Ducks think it’s the greatest thing since slice bread and it was until all the changes. No appy? No tip? Forget that shizzle!

We did a NON-DDP trip last year and we spent probably a hundred bucks more, ate what we wanted and drank all the booze our guts could take. It was fabulous, except for the part where our gut couldn’t take anymore booze. And you’ll have to read all about that in my last trip report. :scared:

So the others decided to go ahead and order the DDP and we decided not to. Our kids are little, they don’t eat much and often share meals. I much prefer an appetizer over dessert, unless profiteroles are involved. After further discussion, Andy decided we should go with the DDP to avoid any confusion since we will be having TS meals together. So now it’s 3 for the DDP. Blech. Out voted again. D’Oh!:headache:

So where to eat? popcorn::

Every year I send out a mass email to my family asking them to pick a few choice restaurants and every year they don’t. So I end up choosing all our TS places and no one better complain or they’re gonna hear it from me! pirate:

We’ll have 7 TS credits and I usually pick around 10 and then narrow it down based on menus and preferences. Usually. This year was a bit harder.

Here’s our 1st draft picks:

Boma
‘Ohana
Narcoossee’s
Tutto Italia
Chefs de France
Chef Mickey’s
Marrakesh
Turf Club
1900 Park Fare
Sci-Fi Dine In
Tusker House

And here’s what we ended up with:

Arrival day – Le Chefs de France
Day 2 – Chef Mickey’s
Day 3 – Narcoossee’s
Day 4 – Tutto Italia
Day 5 – Sci-Fi Dine In Lunch/ 1900 Park Fare Dinner
Day 6 – ‘Ohana
Day 7 – Boma
Day 8 – Turf Club

Did you notice we have 2 more TS places than TS credits? Yeah, me too. I think we’ll pay Turf Club and Narcoossee’s OOP.

Now I feel the need to ‘splain some of our choices.

We chose Chefs de France because we are HUGE Remy fans. Heck, Remy traveled with us from LA to WDW back in ’07. Granted he was lost, but quickly found and he got us lots of CM attention. :thumbsup2

Chef Mickey’s was Evan’s birthday dinner choice. Our friends V and her son Leo and LL and her DH and DS will be joining us that night to celebrate. I’m ordering a Mickey Mouse head cake and treat bags for the kids at that meal.

Narcoossee’s… Surf-N-Turf… ‘nuff said. :cloud9:

Tutto Italia – despite some negative reviews, LL said she really enjoyed it – so we’re in.

Sci-Fi – I’ve always wanted to eat here, but I worried my kids would freak out about the dark, etc. I think they’re old enough now and from the pics on allears, they excited to try it. Yeah, I know… stick to burgers and shakes.

1900 Park Fare – this was actually Maddie’s choice. She wanted a character meal, but nothing too Princessey. Since we’ve already got dinner with the Mouse, I thought this one fit the bill. CRT was something we’d done and didn’t see the need to do again and Yakerhaus… errr.. Akerhaus was GROSS and I’ll never go there again. :scared:

‘Ohana – Meat! Glorious Meat! And no bones! Yippeee!!!

Boma – no explanation needed. Soup. Yummy.

Up Next: AP’s and TIW and Trip Planning Obsessions begin… where the heck is my laminating paper???

We didnt like TUTTO either but I think you have to judge for yourself. We know friends who like it:confused

I totally agree ---I would rather have appetizer than dessert but we seem to always do DDP and pay OOP for the other stuff:confused3

Ok we are thinking about DL for our Apr trip instead of WDW, maybe there is still hope we will meet one day:flower3:

Is it crazy to think maybe we can pass along the way somehow???I know its a tight day for you guys:yay: I can't wait to hear about your trip!!! Please tell me you're going to report on BLT?! Oooo, I should go back and read that one again!

We ended our glorious trips with a huge dinner at Catfoodgarten… ahem… Biergarten with a total of 20 DISers and their families. Meow.

We always have so much fun together. Our husbands enjoy each other, our children enjoy each other, heck even Waldo loves these girls and their families! They’ve become extended family!

NOT to Dining Plan.
Andy decided we should go with the DDP to avoid any confusion since we will be having TS meals together.
D'OH! Do I need to talk to him?!

Those ADRs are fabulous! I agree with you about the dining plan. I love it when it is free but don't feel it is worth paying for because of my family's eating habits. We just don't eat that much and also tend to snack a lot. And alcohol is not included ;)

I'm struggling with the DDP or not DDP question too. When I price out places like Ohana (our favorite), it's $123 for us to eat. The DDP is $142 a day for us. Surely that day we'll spend more money by getting lunch and snacks, right?

T, the dining looks great!

Doug and I saved $100 bucks using the DDP. That is we would have if it wasn't free. A lot of those meals were just too much. I too would rather choose an appy once in a while. Plus, I hate the constraints that ADRs put on the trip. The next trip for Doug and I will be DDP and ADR free. It will be one big experiment. I'll dedicate it to you!

Read the trip report(s) – you won’t be sorry!

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/Tracyswdwpics106.jpg

Awwww....there's my girls!!:grouphug:

I always like to go back and read the TR's again before our next trip...gives me even more to look forward to!!

:cool2: Need sunglasses...something bright pink hurting my eyes...:lmao:JK - LY K!!

We were lucky that Fay spared us a few minutes for some group pictures...remember the torrential rain storm that hit as we were supposed to be arriving? UGH...

I'm still sorry we didn't get someone (Oooh Photopass!) to take one big shot of everyone with all our kids and hubby's...

This was a tough year...almost had me questioning the vacation planning Gods on this one...

So as I was planning my trip I got an email from my dear friend PrincessV basically saying she’d changed her plans to August, rather than June. Read her PTR on the boards right now, it’s a riot! So V was in for August.

And so it begins...popcorn::

Now we had to work on Lauralee or rather, Lauralee had to work on her DH. :lmao: And holy crow, Lauralee pulled one off and managed to book an August trip after all! :woohoo: I was so excited to be vacationing with my friends again!

:teacher: Some seriously fuzzy finagling went into this one, huh?? Lying, cheating...like a soap opera...

We always have so much fun together. Our husbands enjoy each other, our children enjoy each other, heck even Waldo loves these girls and their families! They’ve become extended family!

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/IMG_1935.jpg

Extended family is a good way to put it! We love you guys too!! Apparently now Tony has no interest in going unless our friends are going to be there! Ooh - we need to talk tee times!!

Eventually I got another email from V saying our DISfriend Michelle (mlill or TheDISneyFamily) would be in WDW at the same time. I was completely overjoyed! I really just love Michelle and her family. Read her trip reports – they’re fabulous! This family knows how to do Disney!

No joke there...I live vicariously through Michelle's TR's and can't wait to meet them in person!

So now, not only would I have my 2 amigas, but I would be meeting a new amiga! And I’m still holding out for my 3rd amiga, Sharkb8. Yoooo Hooooo....are you listening?? Just a little peer pressure...not much. Just a little...LY K!!

Let it be known that I hate the dining plan. There I said it and I’m owning it. My family on the other hand, loves the DDP. Waldo, TE, and The Ducks think it’s the greatest thing since slice bread and it was until all the changes. No appy? No tip? Forget that shizzle!

Yeah they ruined the DDP - I don't care so much about the tip part, as CM's should earn it, not get it automatically - or at least 18% anyway...but I wish they'd give you a choice at least appy OR dessert...I'd rather have the appy anytime over dessert...I have considered the CS plan...but probably will just go OOP this year...

We did a NON-DDP trip last year and we spent probably a hundred bucks more, ate what we wanted and drank all the booze our guts could take. It was fabulous, except for the part where our gut couldn’t take anymore booze. And you’ll have to read all about that in my last trip report.

:rolleyes1

So the others decided to go ahead and order the DDP and we decided not to. Our kids are little, they don’t eat much and often share meals. I much prefer an appetizer over dessert, unless profiteroles are involved. After further discussion, Andy decided we should go with the DDP to avoid any confusion since we will be having TS meals together. So now it’s 3 for the DDP. Blech. Out voted again. D’Oh

So where to eat? popcorn::

Every year I send out a mass email to my family asking them to pick a few choice restaurants and every year they don’t. So I end up choosing all our TS places and no one better complain or they’re gonna hear it from me!

You know there'll be complaining...just know it...

We’ll have 7 TS credits and I usually pick around 10 and then narrow it down based on menus and preferences. Usually. This year was a bit harder.

Here’s our 1st draft picks:

Boma
‘Ohana
Narcoossee’s
Tutto Italia
Chefs de France
Chef Mickey’s
Marrakesh
Turf Club
1900 Park Fare
Sci-Fi Dine In
Tusker House

And here’s what we ended up with:

Arrival day – Le Chefs de France
Day 2 – Chef Mickey’s
Day 3 – Narcoossee’s
Day 4 – Tutto Italia
Day 5 – Sci-Fi Dine In Lunch/ 1900 Park Fare Dinner
Day 6 – ‘Ohana
Day 7 – Boma
Day 8 – Turf Club

One question...how many names and phone numbers are these booked under? Are there more than one?????

Ok, that was 2 questions...

I have yet to eat there...I don't know why...I think I subconsciously connect France/French Food and snails...:scared: Real mature, eh?

Chef Mickey’s was Evan’s birthday dinner choice. Our friends V and her son Leo and LL and her DH and DS will be joining us that night to celebrate. I’m ordering a Mickey Mouse head cake and treat bags for the kids at that meal.

Can't wait to celebrate the little big man's birthday with you all!!!

Narcoossee’s… Surf-N-Turf… ‘nuff said.

Mmmmm...Narcoossee's....

You're right...nuff said...

Tutto Italia – despite some negative reviews, LL said she really enjoyed it – so we’re in.

I loved it...order the antipasto...we went thru 2 of them and a few bottles of wine and yummy desserts...spent a small fortune outside of the DDP but sooo worth it...and the service was fabulous!!

Sci-Fi – I’ve always wanted to eat here, but I worried my kids would freak out about the dark, etc. I think they’re old enough now and from the pics on allears, they excited to try it. Yeah, I know… stick to burgers and shakes.

It'll be fun...M loves going there. And yes, burgers and shakes...heh heh...

:scared:

Another place we have yet to try...came close 1 or 2 trips ago but changed it for something else. Shocking, I know...

‘Ohana – Meat! Glorious Meat! And no bones! Yippeee!!!

I was very sad to read about V's last experience there, but we're eating there again anyway...just in case. Definitely a favorite of ours...ahhh...bread pudding....mmmmmm

Boma – no explanation needed. Soup. Yummy.

Boma...big, heavy sigh...I loves me some Boma!! I was so tempted to try Sanaa, but I'm a bit scared...

Although...now I'm thinking that Paradiso looks pretty tempting....

Up Next: AP’s and TIW and Trip Planning Obsessions begin… where the heck is my laminating paper???

I know you haven't lost the laminating paper...no way...LOL

Ok ---now I even more sad to know that I will miss not only you but V AGAIN and LL. WTH!!!I have no mojo

First let apologize for my lack of pictures in the installment. Some things should just not be photographed. And those that were need prior approval 'cause they're down right funny! :lmao:

I don't know where I left off.

Somewhere in the planning stages, I suppose. But so much has happened lately I feel the need to just jump right in and bring you all up to speed. Which explains my lack of updates. Oh boy.

Now normally, Disneyland_Mama would have everyone packed and ready to go at this stage in the game. The plans would be printed and laminated, the plane tickets printed, the crocs cleaned and polished, the airport transportation booked, the ziploc bags marked with dates, stuffed with clothes and stacked in the suitcases. Heck, I'd even have our carry-on bags ready. Yes, at 30-ish days left, I'd be ready to rock.:woohoo:

BUT.

None of the above is even CLOSE to being done. My plans aren't even on a spreadsheet. They're penciled in a notebook. PENCIL!!! :faint:

I KNOW!

And it's not because I'm not in the mood or I'm not motivated. It's simply because there has been ZERO time for any of that. I've been dealing with DRAMA, people.

Let me 'splain.............

First for some strange reason, we decided NOW of all times would be the perfect time to remodel our kitchen. A complete remodel. Gut it and start anew. So we've had contractor after contractor come in for bids. (We still haven't decided, TFI. Although I think we're going with the handsome Middle Eastern guy. Yummy!;))

Next, we decided, "Hey, mortgage rates are nice and low, we should refinance our mortgage!" Yeah. Let's start that nightmare. We started that in March. The person who was working our loan dropped the ball, never contacted us and I had to pitch a fit to get someone to pick up the pace. We finally closed last week. :faint: Note to self, BofA sucks.

And now the icing on the cake. My mutha. It all started back on Easter Sunday. She was getting ready for brunch and she tripped putting her sandals on. She's been in pain ever since and finally on Father's Day her knee completely gave out. Poor thing, her entire leg swelled up. I didn't think she needed to go to the ER, so we waited until Monday and called her GP. He wanted her to see an Orthopedic Surgeon, so we did that this week. Her diagnosis? Tibial Plateu Fracture. :scared1: Como say WHAT??? She was quite worried about her WDW trip and having to cancel. We don't have her prognosis yet, as she's scheduled for an MRI this week to see the extent of the damage. We'll just have to go from there.

Big, heavy *SIGH*. :guilty:

I feel horrible for her. She was so looking forward to this trip and she's decided if they put a cast on her, she won't go. But if they don't cast her, then it's Scooter City for us! On the flip side, if my parents cancel - I can book us a 1 bedroom. Is it bad that that's the first thing I though of? :sad2:

Here's a pic of TE at the Orthopedic Surgeon's office. We were busting up over the paper shorts they made her put on. We were goofing off so much in that office, they were happy to be rid of us!

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/downsized_0625091457.jpg

So that's where we are. But should I post our plans? :confused3 Is that like bad juju? Oh heck, let's throw caution to the wind and see what the Waldo family has planned!:cool1:

Whoa! Let me dust this thing off! :scared:

There's been some crazy turn of events going on here, and I don't even know where to begin! :faint:

My plans are still in pencil, sort of, but other than that things are moving in a forward motion. That's usually good, right? :confused3

Our countdown calendar is on the move!
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/downsized_0707091013.jpg

Well we got the results of TE's MRI and although it wasn't what we hoped for, we're dealing with it. She was diagnosed with a torn meniscus and she's going to need surgery. Thankfully, not until mid-August! Whew! The doctor gave her a shot of cortisone to ease the pain and he also gave her the green light for Disney. :thumbsup2

So with that, I've had to make some changes. We had planned on renting her a scooter for the parks, but now I've had to contract an outside company so she'll have scooter use 24/7. I've also had to contact the airlines to let them know she'll need assistance from drop off point to the gate. No way she'll be able to crutch it all that distance. She can barely crutch it from the garage to the house... and the garage is connected to the house!:sad2: Coordination is not her strong suit.

I've been in full planning mode this past week. Got all the details taken care of... booked the MK Dessert buffet, booked the airport transportation, set up the mail and newspaper hold, pillaged the travel isle at Target, ransacked Dollar Tree, and ordered yet another VB bag. :thumbsup2

I think I've even got "the plan" all set up. This year I ditched TGM. :guilty: I know, but seriously once you understand his method, it's cake. I went with UG this year for the best days and then enlisted the help of RIDEMAX. I just started listening to the DISunplugged and learned of Pete's positive experience with RIDEMAX at DLR. I thought I'd give it a try this time, but first let V try it out. 'Cause I trust V and I knew if V liked it, I'd like it. Let's just say RIDEMAX passed V's test with flying colors and the rest is history! ;)

I plugged in my plans to Ridemax and **poof** 8 days of plans landed in my hot little hands! :cool1:

Heck, I even pulled out the laminating paper and got my park maps laminated. :teeth: See, I buy a Passporter every year. Not for the information, but for the awesome park maps. ::yes:: This is our 4th trip to WDW, and I'm far from knowing where everything is and I really like the way the Passporter maps are set up. So for me, they're laminating paper worthy. :lmao:

Now I have to somehow figure out how to get the the 4 plastic bins full of stuff packed into 4 suitcases!

I do have a small surprise, completely off topic.... but I had to share...

I BOOKED THE GRAND CALIFORNIA VILLAS FOR OCTOBER!!!
:dance3::cool1::banana::dance3:

It's actually a surprise for Maddie's 8th birthday! I also bought tickets for Mickey's Trick or Treat Party. I plan to take the kids out of school on the 29th, check into the hotel and head to MToTP that night and then DLR on the 30th for Maddie's actual birthday. I think she's going to love it!

I wanted to do something special for Evan's birthday, so I perused the Disney Florist website and decided on the Mickey's Birthday surprise package. I showed it to Andy who  and we went over what exactly was included in the bargain price of $195. Most of the stuff Evan wouldn't really appreciate, so I headed over to Memoriesbybetsy and make a Birthday basket request.

This is what Betsy created for us:

In Evan's basket, she put in a Celebrate t-shirt, Birthday ears, Mickey Birthday plush, Birthday lanyard and a birthday button. Isn't it cute? :cloud9:

Feeling a little bad for Maddie, I asked Betsy to create something for Maddie, just on a smaller scale. For Maddie she included a Minnie "Celebrate Everyday" plush, Minnie headband ears, and an Autograph book and pen.

Her price was very reasonable and she was just wonderful. I will use her again, no doubt.:thumbsup2

I also wanted Evan to have a t-shirt to wear on his birthday during the day at MK, so I asked Tracy (MrsKSomeday) if she would mind using her mad crafty skillz and make a design for Evan. She created the cutest print that I transfered on to a sleeveless shirt:

Isn't it adorable? I showed it to him and just he loved it! Tracy - Evan sends you a big "THANK YOU!" hug!

Eek! I'm out of time! Got to get TE off to the Dr. for another check-up on that knee!

More later...... popcorn::

Everything is just about done. Everyone is just about packed (except Waldo) - he's always the fish swimming (wandering) the other way.

:lmao:

Plans are printed, laminated and placed lovingly in my Disney Notebook....

I've got 3 checked suitcases (for the 4 of us) and each kid has a backpack, I have a carry-on tote and ANdy's got a small carry-on suitcase.
With United, if you pre-pay the baggage fee at home it's $11 v. $15 at the airport - so I"m prepaying. :teeth: I always tuck a duffel bag in a suitcase for dirty clothes, that way I have room for the souvies.
I think you'll be just fine with 1 suitcase and 1 carry, though. :thumbsup2

Hi T2! I will post tweets, not sure about live updates, as I won't have a laptop and my DSi might not cut it for updates. But, I can tweet with my phone, so that's probably what I will do.
I hope you have a wonderful vacation!

How could I forget the "PLAN"???!!!

Not one of you knows the "PLAN"! Scratch that, a few of you know the "PLAN", but I should probably post it, right?

Here's the "PLAN":

We fly out LAX taking the red-eye on Thursday night, arriving at the butt crack of stupid on Friday morning. THe butt-crack of stupid is 6am, TFI. ;)

July 31st: My "PLAN" is to arrive at SSR (I already did online check-in), grab our folder and if our room is ready, head to our room for a little R&R and hit DTD, then a little pool time and head for Epcot around 2ish. Dinner at Le Chefs to see Remy! I'm so excited. Then I've got a date with V & LL for some champagne and cheese!

Aug 1st: My "PLAN" is to hit MK rope drop. Since this is Evan's birthday, he created the RideMax plan. We'll head out of the park around 1pm for some pool time and then meet up with V and Leo and LL, Tony and M for some birthday dinner at Chef Mickey's! We plan to head back to he park for some nighttime fun.

Aug 2nd: My "PLAN" is hit AK rope drop and let Evan get his EE ride on! He's so excited! He's been waiting 2 years to ride this one. He finally made the height this summer and is totally legit! BUT, I am taking his Vans with the fat sole, just in case. ;) We'll stay here as long as we can, perhaps 2ish? and head back to SSR for some rest before heading out to Narcoossee's for dinner! I can't wait for this one!

Aug 3rd: My "PLAN" is to hit Epcot rope drop. We'll leave here after lunch for some pool time and/or rest and come back for dinner at Tutto Italia.

Aug 4th: My "PLAN" is to hit DHS rope drop and get our TSM on! Love, love, love this ride! We have it here and DLR, but I just can't get enough. NODepecheMode. We also have lunch plans with V & LL and their families. I'm excited about this one, too. Again, we'll take an afternoon break and then head for dinner at 1900 Park Fare. Afterward, I've got a meet with some dear friends, sans kids tonight! ;)

Aug 5th: My "PLAN" is to hit MK again. That "PLAN" might change, depending on how everyone is feeling. With DLR in our backyard, MK is just not high on our priority list, KWIM? So this day is a little iffy. :goodvibes We'll have dinner at the long awaited 'Ohana and then we have plans for the MK dessert buffet later that evening.

Aug 6th: My "PLAN" is to hit AK again and then hop over to Epcot for awhile. We'll have an afternoon break and head to Boma for dinner, and the kids will hit the Kid's Club. We'll probably head to DTD for some shopping.

Aug. 7th: Our last day. :guilty: The plan is to hit Epcot late in the morning to get our fill of WS and just enjoy our last day taking it all in. I figure ME will pick us up around 4pm for our 7pm flight, so we'll head back to SSR around 2pm.

So you may notice my plan is a little more laid back than usual, right? Now I'm not admitting to going completely "Kinder and Gentler" ala LL, but I do admit that with DVC, running around the parks trying to get everything done is a priority for us. I know we'll be back next year. Heck, I even have our dates worked out. ;)

I'm not sure I'll do any live updates, but I may post on here if I can't get my Twitter account to work, but for those of you who FB, I will be posting pics there.

I am setting up a new Twitter account for Follow Waldo here:
