wheelchair question..need answer asap

Are wheelchairs available at terminal for rent? Do you notify DCL ahead of time to arrange a wheelchair or do you rent one for 7 nite cruise from med. supply company?
DD has a friend recovering from major surgery. Patient is doing great but does need a wheelchair at times. Thanks! Need answer a.s.a.p as this couple leave next week.

Sandee, no, there are no wheelchair rentals at the terminal. There are a limited number of sand wheelchairs at Castaway Cay (first come first served), but if you want to be sure you have a wheelchair while on the cruise it's best to rent it in advance and bring it with you.

Also, be aware that the NON handicapped-accessible staterooms don't work well with wheelchairs, they don't even fit through the doors. You can fold it up to get it through, though.
