My dw & I bought an OKW re-sale and we got our copy of the warranty deed from Timeshare Closing Service (very prompt service). I hope some of you experts don't mind a few questions :D
1) I am assuming the deal is now official since the deed has been recorded, am I correct?
2) How soon will we be in the system?
3) Do we need to wait for the new member package from DVC?
4) When should we expect it?
5) Where can I call to determine if we are in the system? (in a hurry to make an Oct. ressie)
Thanks in advance for your responses. I've been lurking here for a couple of months and have no doubt I'll get answers to my questions!

Welcome Home!

1) If you have your deed, you are definitely a DVC member!
2)Most likely, if you have a copy of the deed, you will already be in the system. It usually takes about a week from the closing date.
3)Your member package will arrive, but be patient- it may take several weeks.
5)You can call DVC members services . They can check by your social security number and provide your membership number. You can sometimes get the membership number from your resale broker. You can try them first.

Once in the system, you can make that reservation immediately- based on availability! ;)

Enjoy!

Took us about a week after we'd closed to get into the system.

Our membership cards arrived about two weeks after that.

The membership book came about three weeks after that.

So about six weeks to get everything. But Disney seems to have a sloppy process, so if you don't see anything at all in the mail in a month or so, call.

Congratulations on your DVC purchase! A DVC CM in management told me recently that when a member buys DVC through a resale process, the process is much more complicated and time consuming. So be patient & you will see materials in your mailbox. Meantime, I wouldn't hesitate to call Member Services if I had questions, concerns, etc. Enjoy!!

When you close, you will get a copy of the deed but it is not the recorded copy. That takes a couple more weeks or more. From the point you get a copy initially, that's when DVC should get it also so figure another week or so. Call and see if MS can find you.
