I apologize in advance for posting this question on this forum instead of Theme Parks and Attractions but for some reason I cannot post new threads there. Regarding the Osborne Lights at DHS. I will be visiting in mid December and I'm a little leery of the crowding issues I've read about. Is this spectacle something you can just walk through and appreciate, or is it like a parade or fireworks show at the MK where you have to get there an hour before and stake your spot. If that's the case how early do you have to get there and where is the best place to stand? Finally can you see the Osborne lights and still catch the later Fantasmic show on the same night? Or do I need to go to DHS on two seperate nights? Traveling with two children ages 8 an 11. thanks for input.

It's something you just walk through. It is very amazing and you have to go see it. When we went there was only one Fantasmic. So we saw that first and then went to see the lights. The park was closing early but the lights were on for awhile after it. The crowds did fade.

Don't miss this one!! It is just amazing. We did Fantasmic, then Sci Fi, then Osborne, and the street was still pretty busy. This was during the first week of December.

I do believe that there is some sort of ceremony when they turn on the lights in the evening. We sort of caught it by accident. Otherwise you just stroll and look at all the beautiful lights and pretend snow falling! We did this at Thanksgiving a couple of years ago.

We were there last year the week before and after Christmas. The first week we were practically the only one's on the street with the Osborn Lights. THe second week it was packed, but still enjoyable. They are awesome!:thumbsup2

The last couple of times we've been, we found the lights attraction stayed open later than advertised. I believe we went last year after Fantasmic...most people headed straight out of the park, while we headed over to the Osborne lights and ended up being one of only a handful of families down there. It was very magical...my kids danced in the streets with the CMs.

I posted the same question the other day. I went to youtube and found a video from last years' OL that answered my question. There does seem to be a small "ceremony" of sorts at the beginning, but I have no idea what time it happens each night. I would like to find out, because even though it was short, it did kind of build the excitement before they "flipped the switch". Do a search and check it out...it's really neat. :)
