We are doing free dining in September. The men of our group are meat and potatoes kinda guys and they want chunks of beef to eat that aren't too fancy or have exotic sides.... Where would you suggest? I am looking for one TS credit places and don't care where they are located.

We are already planning Whispering Canyon for birthday dinner...

Thanks!

I know you said beef but one of the best "meat and potatoes" buffets my husband enjoys is the Biergarten at Germany. Good food, good entertainment and beer. Enough said.

DH said he loved the NY Strip from Grand Floridian Cafe. The Pork and the Filet from the Wave were to die for. We had a killer pork chop from the Capt Grill at the YC.

Boma is one that hasn't been mentioned yet. They have prime rib and since it is a buffet they can have as much as they want.

Your thread title caught my eye! These are the exact types of meals I am looking for for my DH. We are from Central Illinois too! We will be going at the end of June.

I was thinking about Big River Bar and Grill (not sure of the exact name). It is located on the Boardwalk. Is the steak good here?

OHANA! For your meat lovers, it's great. They bring giant skewers of grilled meat (beef, chicken, turkey, shrimp, pork) and just dump it on your plate. They have other stuff too (noodles, salad, veggies). It's a meat frenzy! My deer-hunting carnivorous dad loved it! (he liked Boma too, for what it's worth)

Nothing, with the exception of the beer, is good at BRB&G.

It should be closed IMHO.

Another restaurant that meat lovers should check out is the Whispering Canyon Cafe at the Wilderness Lodge. They don't serve steak per se, but there is a ton of meat if you get their skillet (includes smoked pork ribs, pulled pork, oven-roasted chicken, and smoked brisket). And the skillet is all-you-care-to-eat. However, it can be noisy, so if you decide to go here, either go early or later if you don't like a lot of action ;).

Biergarten has LOTS of meat and some potato dishes. Trail's End had chicken, ribs, shrimp, and a carved meat with potatoes at dinner. Liberty Tree Tavern has a delicious selection of meats with mashed potatoes and stuffing. Garden Grill in Epcot has a variety of meats with mashes potatoes. "Ohana has lots of yummy meats, including "chunks of beef," but no potatoes.
