I’m aware that it’s probably WAY to early to start a PTR on a trip we’re planning for March, but I thought “What the heck?!” :rolleyes1 It’s safe to say that I’m not the only one that plans so far in advance on the DIS. I’m also expecting my second bundle of joy in December, so I need ALL my planning to be done before then.

I just want to warn you all that I’m a photo addict and will most likely post A LOT of pictures with my planning some of which will include pictures of previous WDW trips. (just for fun) I figure I have 10 months to try to keep to you all entertained. :cheer2:

So, with that said…… ON WITH THE SHOW!

THE CAST

Me: (Deanna) I’m a 30 year old SAHM to the best little girl in the world. I fell in LOVE with WDW on my very first visit back in 1996, when I got to go as a gift for my High School graduation. Since then I’ve been 7 times and even got married there back in 2001. :love:

http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p218/slackerdeanna/reyasbday119.jpg

DD: (Reya) 3 year old beautiful, sweet, smart little girl. princess: This will be her 2nd visit to WDW. She’s in LOVE with Wall-e, Snow WIPE (aka snow white) , and Tinkerbell. Every time she see’s Cinderellas Castle she begs to go to Disney World, so I just couldn’t say “NO” any longer.

http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p218/slackerdeanna/May2009024.jpg

DH: (Will) 33 year old investment broker. He’s the best daddy and husband in the world. I’m truly thankful that he works so hard to make sure that we’re able travel as much as we’re able. And I know that he secretly loves WDW just as much as I do.

http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p218/slackerdeanna/Roadtrip204-1.jpg

Nieces: (Breanna) 9 years old (Valerie) 7 years old : These days they’re not much into the Princess thing, they’re more into the VAMPIRE thing. LOL. :sad2: Both addicted to Twilight, but of course still love WDW. They’ve both been about 24 times. They moved to Florida for about 6 months a couple years ago and were able to visit WDW just about every other weekend. Are SUPER excited to go back.

http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p218/slackerdeanna/August2008007-2.jpg

SIL/BIL: (Marsha and Victor) I’m lucky to have such a wonderful SIL and BIL that I get along with. We have a fabulous time when we vacation together and this is going to be the best of the best. The only problem I see us running into is that I'm more of a planner and they're more of a "play it by ear" kinda couple. Should be interesting. :rolleyes:

http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p218/slackerdeanna/August2008052-1.jpg

DD or DS: Due December 9th. Has no idea what he or she has in store for them. Will be a lover of all DISNEY I’m sure.

http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p218/slackerdeanna/1stultrasound007.jpg

Well that’s it for the cast. I’ll be back with plans as they become available. I'm working on hotel plans right now. :yay:

Thank you! We're super excited to be expecting. It's going to be interesting having a 3 month old baby at the parks with us. My DD was 6 months the first time we took her to DL though, and she had the best time ever.

I think it's adorable that my daughter is so in Love with Snow white and she's starting to get into whole princess phase, so it's going to be a blast when we
go this time.

Thanks for reading!! What dates are you going in March?

Yes! Oh, and congratulations! That is super exciting. I was sharing your PTR title (Nemo and Snow "Wipe")with my DH and DD12 tonight on our walk around the block. We were reminescing (SP?) about all the cute things the kids say... the girls top mis-sayings (that I remember) were:

Nike Down
Calipidder
Prentzil

:rotfl: So cute!

My Twilight trip.... It was really fun! I got a lot of great pics BUT I also had some pics taken by other women that I want to use in my TR and I need to get them compiled. I've been lazy about it. :rolleyes1 Thank you for asking though.. it encourages me to know there's an audience still. :goodvibes

I know, listening to Reya talk on a daily basis is hilarious. She was watching Pee-oh-key-o ((Pinochio)) last night. She's at the most lovable/laughable age. :lmao:

DATES OF TRAVEL

So, I think weíve decided on our dates of travel.:woohoo: Of course itís not set in stone yet, but weíre pretty determined to make these specific dates work.

MARCH 4th- MARCH 14th

Iím a little concerned that it might be a little too busy, does anybody know what the crowds are like at this time? :crowded: Spring Break around here doesn't usually start until the middle to end of March, so I was hoping we would miss out on the crowds, get in and out before it get's too busy.

If it is really busy we might go as early as February 28th but I really wanted the baby to be at least 3 months old before we traveled.

Also, does anybody know first hand what the weather is like end of February, beginning of March?!?

Awesome I am joining in. I am going in January 2010 and I have been planning since February when we got back from our wedding/honeymoon. Your daughter is adorable!! I have been to Disney in the beginning of March and have had no problems as far as the crowds. Pretty normal crowd flow. I think the spring breakers come out at the end of March and into April. You should be safe.

Can't wait to hear more!! :banana:

Welcome!! Thanks for reading!

Congrats on your recent marriage! We got married and honeymooned at WDW too and it was the BEST time of our life. I would love to renew our vows there in 2011. ((guess we'll see))

I'm so glad that you've said the crowds are good the beginning of March, that's spectacular news!!:yay::yay: How was the weather? We've always gone when it's way too hot, so I'm hoping for a little cooler weather?

The weather is cool. There are some hot days you could have but nothing at all like May or the summer months. When I was there it was cool enough to wear a hoodie.

HOTEL

So, weíve decided to stay at the LIGHTHOUSE KEY RESORT for our vacation.

This is where we stayed back in 2007, and absolutely fell in LOVE with it. It fits, all of our needs!! We'll have 3 kids and a baby, so they'll have plenty of room. :cloud9:

Our room will include:

Washer/dryer
Dishwasher
Full kitchen
Large Patio w/furniture and fan
3 bedrooms
3 baths ((both master bedrooms have Jacuzzi tubs))
3 Tvs
XBOX for the kiddos
Living room
Dinning room
Plus much, much more ÖÖ

Itís going to be nice to have a refrigerator for the babyís milk, dishwasher for all the dirty bottles, washer/dryer for all the spit up cloths, Jacuzzi for my achy muscles. :worship:

The rate is $170.00 a night plus an $8.00 a night resort fee, so after splitting the cost, weíll be paying roughly $100.00 per family per night. Canít beat that!!!

Below are pictures of our room when we were there a couple years ago.

**I have plenty of more, if anybody wants me to post them

There's a sight I've been on for a couple of years called "Tour Guide Mike." It does cost money... I forget how much.. cheap though... maybe like $14 or $20 or something but it's on the honor system once you pay. They ask that you re-up your membership after each "trip" to WDW to help pay for the site. I have never been so I have never re-upd my membership and all has been well. :)

Anyway, it's a PHENOMONAL site for dates/times/touring/crowds. I highly recommend it. It is definitely more geared towards WDW than DL but there is good info on both. There are several key posters that post to both sites here on the Dis and on TGM (Tour Guide Mike).

Before my DD was born and I became a stay at home MOM I worked in the Airline Industry for 8 years. I was lucky to fly free wherever I went. Weíve traveled quite a bit since then, but have driven to all of our Vacation destinations.

Needless to say I havenít purchased a plane ticket in over 13 years and Iím STUNNED by the cost. :scared1:

Right now the average cost seems to be around $1, 288.00 for three tickets! HOLY COW!!

For those of you who are more experienced with flying do you have any advice? Is it better to wait till closer to departure, or is it better to purchase FAR in advance? Are there any secrets to getting better airfare?:confused3

I canít convince my husband to drive, which honestly I donít blame him. :drive:The last 3 years weíve driven to Florida once, Vegas 3 times, California 3 times, and Seattle once. The poor guy just wants to sit back, relax and get to our destination in 3 hours rather then 3 days.

I wonít lie flying scares the POOHpooh: out of me, but heís paying and has agreed to fund my obsession of Disney once again, so I canít complain.

Okay, I'm in..

I'm not the one to ask about airfares, but I tend to look everyday until I find a fare that looks good. Ask around and see what a standard rate from CO to MCO is and then start looking at airlines....

You can post all the pictures as you want as far as I'm concerned....

Hey! I just love that resort! Yes, airline prices are costly! Especially since you have to pay for your luggage now. We are only 6 hours away from the mouse and we tend to drive but last year when we went to DLR, I scored great prices for our airline tix by playing the waiting game. I checked prices everyday and then when I found a decent price, I purchased the tix. Sending pixie dust your way for cheap airline tix! ;)

If you have any questions about the resort just let me know. They also have 2 and 4 bedrooms. When we went a couple years ago they were still in the building process and the resort was practically empty. We would have the entire pool to ourselves most days. Which was awesome for me because I tend to shy away from being seen in my bathing suit. The pool was great for my DD too because it had the zero entry and I wouldnít have to worry about her falling in.

Well I guess Iím going to begin the process of deciding on ADRís.

~~~~~
When I took my DD to DLR 9 months ago she was pretty much terrified of all the Characters,:scared1: so when we did the Lilo and Stitch breakfast it was pretty much a waste of money, but my sweet niece and nephew had the time of there lives, so it was worth every penny to see them have a great time at least. :goodvibes((pictures below))
I think I might go ahead and chance it and do at least ONE character breakfast this upcoming trip, Iím hoping sheíll outgrow her fear by March.?!?:confused3
Since Iím new at the character breakfast thing, what are the best ones to do?!? Any suggestions would be helpful.
Iím going to make an ADR for the CRT for sure. Sheís definitely into the Princess thing now, and sheíll absolutely pee her pants when she sees Snow ďWipeĒ!princess:
This is what my poor DD did the entire breakfast ~~ Clung to her daddy
http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p218/slackerdeanna/2008tripcanon424.jpg
What I had REALLY enjoyed about this particular Character Breakfast was that the characters actually spent time with the kids. They didnít just hang around for a second, get their pictures taken and move on. So Iím really hoping to find a similar CBprincess: on our next trip.
Character Breakfasts at the Theme Parks are generally pretty packed out. So is Chef Mickeys at CR.
Check with others about Ohana, Park Fare or Cape May. These might be better as far as more character interaction.
We love character breakfasts/dinners because this is a way to take pictures with all of the characters and NOT wait in those lines in the parks! We are doing Crystal Palace and Chef Mickey's in July. Last year we did 1900 Park Fare and it was really nice. We just love the Mad Hatter! Thank God Madi has loved all of the characters since she was 6 months old and is NOT scared at all! Lol. I will keep you updated and give you a review upon our return in 4.5 weeks! :)
Hi Deanna,
Popped over to say hi and check out your PTR since you commented on mine! (Thank you!)
Congratulations on your pregnancy!
Your daughter is adorable, just sooo cute!
And the hotel you guys are staying at looks lovely, can't wait to hear more!
Thank you, Thank you, and Thank you!
Oh sure, NOW You tell me ;) I missed it. I would like to have seen them winning all their awards but I do not plan on watching the New Moon trailers. The parts I hated of Twilight were the parts that had been drilled into my head so many times I wanted to spit-up when I saw them on screen (Say it.. OUT LOUD) :rolleyes2:
I actually quit going to the Twilight thread on the disboards (:eek:) because I'm against hte spoilers. I will wait until after the movie to go back.
Great sleeping pics!!!!
Well I think you're missing out, it looks sooooooo good! Even DH is excited to see it. :yay: But I do understand your point.
I'm totally the opposite of you however. I love spoilers! I'm that stupid person that ALWAYS reads the last page of the book before I even start. :lmao:
~ The other day you and I were talking about the cute things that kids say, so I just had to share this with you.
DD had her head resting on my belly last night while we were watching a movie. I asked her if the baby was talking to her? She sat up and says "Mommy, Mommy I hear it, I hear it" ! I asked her what the baby was saying and she says "The baby is talking, and says RIBIT, RIBIT" :rotfl2:
Character Breakfasts at the Theme Parks are generally pretty packed out. So is Chef Mickeys at CR.
Check with others about Ohana, Park Fare or Cape May. These might be better as far as more character interaction.
Thank you so much for your input, I really appreciate it. I think I might check out Ohana. Mmmmmmm
You're so lucky that Madi has never been scared of the charcters. It's made our trips I little difficult sometimes.
One of the seven dawrfs came up to DD during the parade once, and you would have thought the world was coming to end! I've never seen a kid freak out so much. :sad2:
Aren't you sweet!! I'm so glad to have you along for the ride.
I know Reya is growing up sooooooo fast!!! She just recently grew her hair long enough where I could put it into pigtails. When we went on our 1st trip to WDW I was hoping that I could get her 1st haircut on MainStreet, but alas she was bald as a que ball. So I'm wondering if I can go a whole 9 months without having to cut it so she'll still get that 1st haircut on Mainstreet. :confused3
I read you PTR... Your trip sounds amazing!! I'm jealous!! I want to go to NY sooooooooooo bad!! I'd like to go during Christmas sometime though.
OHHHHHH and thanks for the Congrats on the baby!!!:cloud9:
I have narrowed down my CHARACTER BREAKFAST selections down to the following:
**Ohanas
http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p218/slackerdeanna/DL_OHANA_2401.jpg
**Chef Mickeyís
http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p218/slackerdeanna/DL_CMB_2401.jpg
**Donaldís Safari at Tusker House
http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p218/slackerdeanna/DL_TUSKER_2401.jpg
**Crystal Palace
http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p218/slackerdeanna/DL_CRYSPAL_2401.jpg
Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated
We will definitely do CRT one morning. Iím not sure if my SIL and her family will join us since her daughters arenít really into the princess thing anymore. I would understand if they couldnít justify spending almost $100.00 for breakfast for that reason. ((I hope they do though))
Iíll just tell the girls that there might be some vampireís there Ö.. They hang out in castles, Right?!? :lmao:
http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p218/slackerdeanna/DL_CRT_2401.jpg
So then we just need to decide on ONE character breakfast. Iím not going to do anymore then that cause we can save ourselves a LOT of money by utilizing our kitchen in the mornings for breakfast.
Now I need to think about lunch and dinners.
Mmmmmmmmm ÖÖÖ I love thinking about food! :love:
When my family and I went to Disney in September I had put together some gift bags ((from Tinkerbell and Mickey)) for each of the kids.
They absolutely LOVED getting such a big surprise before heading out to the parks, plus they had some pretty great items to play with in the hotel room each night during our stay.
Unfortunately I donít think Iíll be able to go way out like I did last year because of luggage space. I might put together a small gift bag for Reya and buy the other two girls their first lanyard and pins, plus some Disney Dollars.
Any Suggestions?
Hereís some pictures of the kids getting there bags:
I vote for O'Hana's (though I blame Oybolshoi - the food porn Goddess) for regular breakfast (pineapple macadamia nut pancakes or some such wonderous thing!) and Donald's Tusker House (cause I want to see pics!) for a character breafkast!
Your report is a "test the waters" for me. I haven't been able to read any WDW stuff since my trip was canceled. I'm doing good so far so thank you for helping me out!
I have to admit one of the things Iím really, really, really looking forward to on our next trip is the Pin Trading. ((for my DD))
My DH and I never understood the obsession with it and never had the desire to do it until our Disney trip last year. Before we left for Disney I had bought my DD a lanyard and a bunch of pins on Ebay, and sooooo glad I did. She was only 2 Ĺ and had sooooo much fun with it, so I know sheís going to enjoy it even more when we go to Disney World and sheíll be almost 4.
I think Iím going to start looking and buying pins soon!! :banana::banana:
Well I checked airfare today and it went down a TOTAL of $329.00, but unfortunately I donít have the cash to pay for it just yet. So Iím hoping the price stays down and/or it goes down even more within the next month.
I also checked the prices to rent a car and the lowest price I came up with for a midsize is $589.00. Hoping those prices go down too.
Hey girl,
Please don't let lack of readership (there are ALWAYS lurkers - you know who you are :3dglasses) and anyway... all TR's - whether Pre or post - are for YOU as well as the reader. You will be happy to have it as time goes on. It's fun to journal and you're good at it! Keep up the good work. It'll pay off, I guarantee it. I just re-read my trippie the other day for hte first time in many months and I howled with laughter while reading choice bits out loud to my family and reliving the events. :rotfl: Keep up the good work!
Those pics you shared were so marvelous, BTW. People are so talented. And see, that's a good example. That art will be lost to all at the next rain but they did it anyway! Just for fun.
Well, Iíve been a complete emotional wreck the last couple of weeks, and Iím not sure why. :confused3 These pregnancy hormones are out of control this time around! :rolleyes: Iíve been super depressed and missing my Dad like crazy lately. :sad1:
So on a whim yesterday I decided Iím going out to California to visit him. I got on the phone and talked to my brotherís wife and it took 2.5 seconds to convince her to come with me,( cause there is NO WAY Iím driving out there with just my DD and I)
And it took NOOOOO time at all to convince my husbnad to let me goÖ I think heís super excited to get rid of his cranky, pregnant wife for a week. ((Poor Guy)):rotfl2:
I Knew my Dad wouldnít have a problem with it, because that morning my little niece called my him and asked if he would come over to take her to the park, and he got emotional and started crying. :sad1: I know he misses his grandkids like nothing else. So heís SUPER excited that weíre coming out. :banana:
So in 6 days I'm hitting the road. :woohoo:
It is going to be quite interesting to drive from Colorado to Sacramento with 2 pregnant women and 3 preschoolers though. And itís going to be weird to be away from my husband for 1 full week. Iíve NEVER spent more then 2 nights away from him in the last 13 years weíve been together. ((Which by the way)) Weíre celebrating our 8 year wedding anniversary TOMORROW!!!!:love:
Your wedding pictures are beautiful. I love your Dad's expression in the garter picture :lmao:. Your other pictures are really good too.
You need to do a TR of your trip to your Dad's. Have a safe and fun visit.
I'm excited that you are taking a road trip. That should be so much fun! Enjoy the time with your father. ;)
Thank you!!
How many times do you think we'll have to take a potty break with 2 pregnant women, and 3 kids under the age of 5?!?! :rotfl2:
Gosh dangint! I wrote a reply yesterday but as I sent it my computer crashed and I had high hopes that it was delivered but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooo! :headache:
Anyways, your daughter is so photogenic! Love the wedding pics (:bride:) and I'm glad you're going to see your pops.
The trip is bound to be memorable!
Ohhhh good, here I was thinking that you forgot about little ol' me.
thank you, thank you!! And yes, this trip is bound to be VERY memorable. :woohoo:
Hi! I followed you over from my TR and the title of your PTR drew me in!! So Cute!!!! Your daughter is so adorable!!! Love all the pictures!!! I look forward to hearing more about all your planning:)
Thank you for stopping by! And thanks for the compliments!!
It's feels good getting new readers. I wish I had more trip planning to share with everyone, but I'm sorta at a stand still right now. Maybe my little upcoming vacation will provide me with some inspiration. :idea:
Hello everyone!!
Well, I just realized that I havenít posted anything on here for an entire month!!!
Unfortunately I havenít done any more trip planning as of yet. I REALLY need to get on the ball but Iíve been either SUPER busy or SUPER tired to get anything done.
When I last posted I was getting ready to go on a ďlast minuteĒ trip to California to visit my Dad with My Brotherís wife and our kids. I was extremely worried about things going smoothly because we would be traveling with 3 kids under the age of five and 2 hormonal pregnant women. Unfortunately, I was right to be concerned because the last 3 hours of our drive home I got in a HUGE fight with my SIL, and we have yet to speak to each other since I dropped her off at her house almost 3 weeks ago. ~~ :lmao: ((((LONG STORY)))
ANYWAYÖÖ. :rolleyes1
Other then that we had a pretty great time though. I was thrilled to spend a week with my Dad and the kids had a fabulous time. I didnít do a trip report, but I did take lots of pictures. Iíll go through them today and post a bunch if everyone would like?!?!?
Iím getting ready to go out with friends and family for my birthday tonight, but Iíll try to get some pictures posted before I do.:woohoo:
THANK YOU DARLING!!!!!!!!
Every birthday is soooo depressing now!! I know, "You're only as old as you feel" and "Age is Nothing but a number" Blah, Blah, Blah .... But STILL, I cry everytime I turn another year older!! This year was particularly bad because of all the pregnancy hormones!! :rotfl2:
I just started feeling the baby kick a couple days after my birthday, so things are FINALLY starting to feel more real and I'm getting super excited for Monday!!!!
Seriously Deanna???? Don't fret, SERIOUSLY. Every year I fret that the girls are "old" this year and then I look at pictures from last year and I say, "OH MY GOSH LOOK HOW LITTLE THEY ARE!!"
In other words, fretting is a waste of time and when you're actually "OLD" you will look back and curse yourself for wasting precious time (and minimally-wrinkled days) BEMOANING your current beauty.... and you are beautiful.
Think about it!
P.S. No, the girls are in So Cal with my family. They're coming home tomorrow! oh, and it's so exciting to feel the baby kick! You're finding out whether you ahve a brother or sister for your little funny pants Reya?! Super cool!
Thank You for the Congratulations!! Weíre extremely EXCITED:woohoo: and TERRIFIED:scared1: all at the same time!!
Iím sorry Iíve been neglecting my PTR. Unfortunately I havenít felt my best during this pregnancy and have been neglecting a LOT of stuff because of this.:sad2: But that has to change!! I have less then 4 months before the baby gets here and 6 Ĺ months before we leave on our trip. Time is flying by and itís time to get serious about planning.
All I did today was sit on the couch to plan, plan, plan. :surfweb: My swollen ankles are proof that I havenít gotten off the couch except to eat and use the bathroom. :lmao: So being a pregnant woman this means Iíve been up like every 10 mins or so!! Okay, thatís a bit of an exaggeration ! :rolleyes1
But I did get TWO extremely important things taken care of todayÖÖÖÖ. Iíve booked both airline tickets and Hotel reservations!!!!!! So itís OFFICAL weíre going to see Mickey Mouse in March!!!!!!:woohoo:
Iíd like to mention that we decided on a totally different hotel then previously mentioned. Iím a little worried about our decision because I absolutely LOVED Lighthouse Key Resort, but I think our new accommodations are a better choice for the kids.
Iím currently working on securing a rental car and getting our Park tickets. Once thatís taken care of Iíll update my PTR for you all !!
reyasmommy
08-16-2009, 05:27 PM
Woo-Hoo !!!!! Itís official, weíre actually going to Disney World!! No turning back now!!:woohoo:
I booked airline tickets for 4 adults and 3 children yesterday!
http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll292/admin_album77/united.jpg
Iím a little disappointed because I had to book the tickets on United Airlines instead of my favorite carrier Frontier. Oddly they were actually cheaper, which almost NEVER happens. :banana:
Our flight leaves Denver at 8:05 AM and arrives in Orlando at 1:30 PM!! Itís going to be so nice to get to Orlando in 3 Ĺ hours rather then 3 Ĺ days!! But I wonít lie, Iím extremely nervous about taking a 3 month old and a 3 year old on the plane. Reya has only flown once and she was 3 months old at the time. She cried for the first 30 minutes of the flight, then fell asleep for the rest, so it wasnít too bad. :confused3 Iím actually thinking sheíll do better then I do, Iím terrified of flying, but luckily Iíll have 3 other adults to help me with the baby.
When I called Unitedís customer service to add a lap child, the guy laughed his butt off when I told him the baby didnít actually exist yet, and he told me to call back when the baby has made his big debut. :rotfl2:
Well, Iím excited to finally have something set in stone! YAY!!! :yay: Iíll be back with our hotel information.
Our hotel reservations have been made. Weíve decided to stay at Lake Buena Vista Resort Village and Spa. Weíre splitting the cost with my sister-in-law and only paying $950.00 for 10 nights. :banana:
Itís not as pretty as Lighthouse Key, but it offers the same plus more. Weíll be staying in a 3 bedroom, 3 bath condo. I definitely like the location better and they have an amazing pool with a pirate ship/slide for the kids. Also have a restaurant, pizza hut express, store, game room, exercise room, and are located right next door to the Outlet stores. Think and hope we made the right decision. I looked into staying on property at Disney World but couldnít justify spending twice the amount of money for a standard size hotel room.
Hereís a picture of the condo layout.
Today I'm going to work on finding a rental car. Does anybody recommend a certain rental company?!?! It's been awhile since I've had to rent a car since we usually drive to Florida with our own vehicle. So far it looks like Thrifty is going to be our best bet.
Does anybody know where I can find some good deals on rental cars?!? The car I was looking at last week has gone up $400.00 total!! :scared1:
Also, I was wondering where I could find some GOOD quality Princess dresses? I want to buy a couple for my daughter before we go on our trip, but the dresses from the Disney Store just look cheap and not worth the outragous prices.
Hey sweetie!!
I'm a little nervous about staying someplace new, but I'm up for a new adventure!! My sister in law and her family lived in Orlando for 6 months back in 2007, so we'll have our own little tour guides.
Ohhhhh, Jace!! That's an awesome name too! We've always been set on Jayden, ever since I was pregnant with Reya. It's become extremely popular and that's my only problem with it. I can't believe I'm already 6 months pregnant, it seems like only yesterday that I found out. :banana:
That "cute" boy is my cousin, Mike! :) He is a total sweetheart, but a "little" too old for your girls. He's 19 or 20 now. :confused3
I'm so excited..... Right before I logged onto the DIS, I registered Reya for her 1st Ballet/Jazz class! I've been looking forward to this day for a LONG time!! Having a girl is soooo much fun! :cool1:
I'll be sure to let you know if I start a new ptr!!
Here are a few tips about doing PTRs or TRs that I've picked up over the last few years:
PTRs and TRs are about building friendships. It's nice to read people's PTRs and TRs, but I'm more apt to stay with a report if I know the person a bit better. This means finding 5-10 TRs or PTRs that interest you and subscribing to them and getting to know the person writing the report. Once you develop your online friendship, they are more apt to sign on to your PTR and stick with it. I've made some GREAT friends on the DIS that I've never met in person. I'm currently subscribed to 50 PTRs/TRs! That might be too many....When you are starting this process look for PTRs that have just started! Then you're on board right from the beginning.
It's nice to have a table of contents in your first post and links to each PTR related post. Take a look at mine for some ideas.
I didn't have any replies to my first PTR for 2-3 days....just keep at it. No need to start a new one. It's really a learning curve for everyone. Remember, we were all new to this at one time so we know how you are feeling!
If you need anymore ideas or help, let me know.
FYI, Jordan's a great name...:rolleyes1
FWIW i'm really enjoying your PTR, I know it's disheartening when no-one replies (heck i've only posted mine in the UK section as I 'know' most of the people on there... Haven't built up the nerve to post it on this section yet as we're doing New York and Boston aswell and i'm worried people won't want to read it because it's not 100% WDW) but keep at it :goodvibes I found it from your previous TRs so I agree with Jordan that the earlier someone follows along the more likely they are to stick with it so you've got plenty of time to gain more readers before your trip :) Your resort looks great, looove the pirate pool :cool1:
Thank you SOOOOO much Cassandra!! I'm thrilled to have you along for the ride and am excited to have a new reader. I was really getting depressed that nobody was reading or responding.
Staying onsite of course is amazing.. I wish I could afford to stay at one of the deluxe home away from home resorts, but alas my pocket book just couldn't allow it. I really need a bigger place that has seperate bedrooms so the baby can have a quite relaxing place to sleep, while everyone else can stay up and play. Plus it will be nice to have a washer and dryer for all those clothes that get spit up on, and a dishwasher for all the dirty bottles. :woohoo:
I had a wonderful time and experience at the Lighthouse Key Resort and recommend it to anyone and hopefully I will have good things to say about the new place too. :confused3
I agree with that other poster... the Snow Wipe title really cracked me up!!!
Your cousin will be just maturing to ripeness by the time the girls are looking for something more serious - I"m ok with that age gap. ;)
Bailey used to take Ballet but what I realized is that she preferred getting dolled up in her outfit and parading around downtown in it while spending quality time with me getting an ice cream cone WITHOUT her sister was really the draw. - waiting in line with 18 other little girls to walk 25 paces then get back in line to do it again was not her cup of tea. But some girls take to it like fish to water! Take lots of pictures!
The hotel where you are staying looks so nice and so does the other one you were going to stay at. I always just stay onsite, but I need to look around for other places apparently.
That is so amazing that you got married at the Poly. I am so jealous! I think I want to have a vow renewal at 10 years with my DH and I would love to do it at WDW.
I really need a bigger place that has seperate bedrooms so the baby can have a quite relaxing place to sleep, while everyone else can stay up and play.
We figured this out the hard way on DS's trip :eek:. We have decided that wherever we stay next has to have a separate bedroom.
But some girls take to it like fish to water! Take lots of pictures!
You always make me laugh! :rotfl:
I'm not sure if you noticed but I changed up my title a little and added "dizzy world" .... that's what she says allllll the time now!!! Mommy, Mommy, I wanna go to DIZZY WORLD!!!! I love it!
I think Reya is definately going to take to dance.... She was born to preform IMHO. Whenever AMERICAN IDOL comes on she has to sing along, and when SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE comes on she has to dance along... I just REALLY REALLY hope for her sake that she doesn't have my 2 left feet or my tone deafness. :lmao: I do plan on taking lots and lots of pictures.... I've been trying to talk the hubby into buying me a new SLR camera!! Wish me luck.
I'm here, I'm here! :cool1:
Your DD is so cute and congrats on your baby boy!!! :lovestruc He needs to be born on 12/5 - then he will share a birthday with both my DS and Walt Disney himself. So convince him to come 4 days early. :rotfl:
The hotel where you are staying looks so nice and so does the other one you were going to stay at. I always just stay onsite, but I need to look around for other places apparently.
That is so amazing that you got married at the Poly. I am so jealous! I think I want to have a vow renewal at 10 years with my DH and I would love to do it at WDW.
I'm subbing so I'll look forward to hearing more. :goodvibes
WELCOME!!!! Happy to have you along for the ride!
I would LOVE for the baby to come a little early. :rolleyes1 My DD was late so hopefully this one doesn't make me wait too. December is a very busy birthday month in my family, so it's going to be interesting.
I would love to do a vow renewal at 10 years too.... I'm not sure if I could pull it off since it's less then 2 years away, but we'll see?!?
I know how you feel. I started a TR for DS's trip in February, but noo one seemed to be reading or responding, so I gave up. I think I may go back and try again.
We figured this out the hard way on DS's trip :eek:. We have decided that wherever we stay next has to have a separate bedroom.
Can't wait to read your next installment!
Well if you ever decide to restart you TR let me know.
BTW I'm also SUPER excited about having 3 bathrooms..... that's going to be soooooooo nice. Plus both the master bathrooms have jacuzzi tubs.... can't beat that! :woohoo:
WOO-HOO!!!! My husband has agreed to go look at camera's today! So hopefully I'll come home with a new Canon later today?!?!?
OFF TOPIC
So, for those of you who followed along with me last year when I was planning my DLR trip know that my mother had passed away a few weeks before we left on our vacation. You also know that her and I had a huge falling out years ago and never reconciled, so her death was extra hard on me because we never had a chance to make up, and she never got a chance to meet my DD... Well during those years I also lost contact with EVERYONE on her side of the family. My grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc, etc, etc....... Well, today I'm reuniting with ALL of them. I've decided to put the past behind me and am taking the first step in trying to rebuild a relationship with everyone agin. It's important for me that my daughter meet her great-grandpa, and I'm excited that she gets that chance for the 1st time today. I myself haven't seen him in over 10 years and am as nervous as can be.
So, everyone wish me luck!! Hopefully, I'll have a brand spanking new camera to take with me so I can capture some memorable moments!
Everything went well today! :thumbsup2 Reya finally got to meet her Great Grandpa and weíre going to have a birthday dinner for him on Thursday for his 78th birthday before he goes back to Idaho on Friday!
Unfortunately I didnít get any pictures. :( Just a few of Reya playing duck, duck, goose with a bunch of other kids. We were too busy talking and catching up with everyone that I didnít really get a chance. :confused3 And by the time we left everyone was too hot and sweaty that I didnít even bother.
Hopefully I'll be a pro at it by the time our trip rolls around.
I also had to share this cute little Mickey Snuggle buddy that I got for baby Jayden today! ÖÖ.. It's his first Disney item for the trip. Iím going to be making gift baskets for all the kids before we go on the trip, so this one is the first contribution to his. I absolutely LOVE it. :love:
Reya found her Disney Pins and Lanyard today. She's been wearing it around the house all day pointing out all the characters, I LOVE IT!! It's nice too because the lanyard actually fits her now and doesn't go down to her little knees. :lmao: I think I'm going to head over to EBAY tonight and start bidding on a bunch of new pins.... One of the gifts from "Tinkerbell" will be new lanyards with pins for all the girls. It will be a new experience for both my nieces, but I'm sure they'll both love it. I'll keep you updated on what I get. :thumbsup2
I really wanted to go out and play with my new camera today, but it feels like my 1st trimester all over again. I've been sick to my stomach, dizzy, fatigued all day long!! UGH!!! Is it December yet?!?! I've never wanted winter to rear it's ugly head so bad in my life. :rolleyes1 Maybe I'll feel better tomorrow and be able too.
I'm not having ANY luck finding a decent priced rental car? We definitely need at least a FULL SIZED car to accomodate all of our lugguge, full sized stroller, and a crib. The cheapest I've found thus far is for $579.00 for 10 days? Does this sound like a good price to anyone? I'm kicking myself in the butt for not jumping on a car I saw at thrifty last week for $517.00. When I logged back on a couple of days ago to book the car it went up to over $900.00 :scared1:
I also need to purchase Disney and Universal tickets soon. My DBIL still has his Florida resident ID, so we're hoping to get a discount on all of our tickets. :confused3
Hey girl!
Sorry I wasn't around to comment about your family reunion.. that sounded incredibley stressful. I'm so proud of you for mending fences and trying to make nice with the family. I don't know the specifics, obviously, and I realize now as an adult that some family ties can be quite toxic but it looks like it worked out for the best.. at least for now. I hope you find a happy place and maybe some great bonds will come out of it.
I'm so sorry that your mom left before you could say your peace.. whatever it would have been. My mom died and we were on talking terms but still I never really said my "peace" with her and I knew she was dying for a full year. My point is...even when you have full knowledge you don't always say what you want. Ya know? Death is so darn final.
On a different note! Loved your current pics of Reya! She is SO DARN CUTE!
All caught up!!! Hmmm, where to begin..
First, don't get down about people not replying. I know that I always feel like I'm talking to myself but I try to think of it more as a journal, a way for me to get my Disney thoughts out! And if people respond, then that's a bonus:thumbsup2
I love the hotel you're staying at. It looks great. It's amazing what you can get and for such low prices off site. We are DVC and have been able to stay in a few villas on site but there is NO way we could do it without DVC. The prices are crazy:scared1:
How much do you love your camera??? I bought the Nikon D40 last year for our big September trip and LOVE it:love: SLR is the way to go. It's overwhelming and I still really don't know what I'm doing. I plan on taking a class someday.
Looks like we'll be missing each other by a few days. We'll be getting there on 3/17. I'm worried about the crowds too. We've always gone during off seasons but we want to be there for DS's 3rd birthday on 3/19. We were there for DD's 3rd last September so we wanted to give him the same experience. We'll make it work. As long as we're there, I don't see how it couldn't be fun!
Ok, and I have to know the status with your SIL!!! I can relate. I have a very bad relationship with my SIL. Although, it sounds like y'all had a good relationship since you asked her to go on a 6 hour car ride and weeklong trip with you! I would NEVER do that with my SIL. She drives me crazy:scared1: Anyway, I hope it's all been worked out. Family fights are so tough. And sorry to hear how things ended with your mom but it's great that you've caught up with the rest of the family. My dad died almost 8 years ago and we didn't have the best relationship either. I have so much guilt about that but you can't let it consume you.
Can't wait to read more!!! And, BTW, I haven't even started thinking about a PTR for our March trip!!! Maybe I need to get on the ball! I need to start thinking about ADR's especially since they're changing the booking window back to 180 days on October 1. Did you know that???
HI!!! Glad you stopped by! :woohoo:
I LOVE my SLR camera!!! It takes amazing pictures and I can't wait to actually learn how to use it. The ONLY thing I don't like about SLR's is the size.. It's hard to walk around carrying a large camera when you have ones that you can just stick in your pocket...Plus you have to make sure you NEVER leave it unattended because you'd be stupid to leave a $800.00 camera sitting in your diaper bag... I would cry like a baby if it was stolen. I had a huge scare last time I went to WDW where I accidentley left my camera bag sitting on a bench and realized 20mins later that I didn't have it on me.... You've never seen somebody run so fast across the length of Magic Kindgom.. I couldn't believe it was still there. My $1000.00 camera was still there! :scared1: Unfortunately I've damaged that camera and whenever I take pictures with it, it has a big spot in the center of each of the pictures so that's why I had to buy a new one.
I still haven't talked to my SIL. :rolleyes1 Well, we've spoken very little anyway. We had to see each other the other day at the reunion and were civil to one another but I tried to ignore her as best as possible without being a total evil witch. Like Mel said in her previous message some relationships are toxic and that's exactly what her relationship is to me. TOXIC. But I have to figure out a way to get along with her because she is my brothers wife. ... When we went to DLR last year we got along really well, but within the last 6 months or so things have gone down hill. We're only 20 days apart with our pregnancies and that doesn't help matters at all. :sad2:
Too bad we won't be at WDW at the same time. I'm getting my tush out of there before the large spring break crowd makes an entrance though. I'm going to sorta consider this a 4th birthday trip for my daughter too. Her birthday is March 25th. Wow!!! They grow up WAY too fast!
All cought up on 9 pages...I knew I called into work sick today for a reason!! LOL! (really I had a headache which has only gotten worse staring at the computer screen all day!).
RANDOM POST ABOUT NOTHING
I wanted to share this cute picture I took of DD sleeping in her Tinkerbell bed last night! I get some of the cutest sleeping pictures with her sometimes! :lmao:
http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p218/slackerdeanna/september2009008.jpg
A couple of nights ago my poor baby fell out of her bed around 1:30AM. I ran into her room because she was screaming and crying, her little legs were still up in bed and her head was on the floor. I swooped her up and started rocking her back and forth telling her that everything was okay. When I turned the light on I realized there was blood all over my favorite night shirt. Poor thing gave herself a bloody nose, a MAJOR bloody nose. Only my daughter could fall 1 foot from the floor and do that. She has wood floors in her room, so I guess itís time to get a big area rug to put under her bed?
***************
So, I was wondering ÖÖ Is it pathetic that Iíve already started a packing list?!?! I was laying in bed last night stressing over all the things weíre going to need with a 3 month old and a 4 year old.
******
I went to the Disney Store today and bought Reya a couple of shirts for the trip ((already)) :rotfl2:. Sheís highly perturbed with me because I wouldnít let her wear them when we got home.:mad: But hereís pictures of what I got. They were on sale for buy 2 for $12.00. I got them a size larger since weíre not leaving until March.
I was also going through some of our old Disney things today. Iím sad to say it, but I think it might be time to Retire DDís Infant sized Princess Mickey Ears!! Makeís me a little sad, but also excited to get her new ones for the trip.princess:
http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p218/slackerdeanna/september2009019.jpg
Went through her PINS too and decided that everything is tradable except these two. I didnít want to trade the Disneyland one because she got it from her grandpa on our family vacation last year, and I didnít want to trade the Halloween Tinkerbell one because itís her favorite. Iím going to probably buy 20 or so pins on eBay later and divide them up between the girls. I canít wait to see what new ones we get.
Hey there! I followed you over from my own PTR.
Have you checked MouseSavers for car rental codes? They usually have great deals with Alamo or National. I've only looked into a couple of things that they offer. Pretty much any car rental company you can think of that is offered in the Orlando area can be found on this site. Check it out here: MouseSavers Car Rental Discounts (http://www.mousesavers.com/rentalcar.html) I hope you find a good deal. I'm still debating about getting a car rental for our 10 day trip but still undecided.
Glad to hear you got a good deal for your flights. I hope I'm just as lucky!
Congrats on your new baby boy. I hope you have a safe delivery and a happy, healthy baby to take along with you on your Disney trip. Too bad my parents never started on me that early. I wish they did! To be born and raised on Disney? Who WOULDN'T want that?!
Keep up the great work with your PTR. Don't get perplexed when nobody replies. People are still reading, trust me. Not everyone always has something to say on the subject. Going into my PTR, I took the mindset that I'm doing this for me - to have something writing to keep referring back to. And if people happen to read and comment along the way, that's a bonus! :thumbsup2
I just reserved a FULL SIZE rental car through Budget. I got a 25% discount code I found on Mouse Savers dot Com. (( BTW for those of you who are looking for discounts on rental Cars check them out for discount codes on all the rental companies.)) :thumbsup2
Iím hoping that the closer our vacation does get prices will go down.... but I wanted to lock in a rate now just in case they go up rather then down.
So for 10 days weíre paying $491.00! :woohoo:
If we can get an even lower rate Iíll probably go ahead and rent a booster seat from them as well. That way I donít have to buy one for DD???
QUESTION::::: I will be taking a stroller/car seat combo with us. Does anybody know if the airline will charge us for 2 separate pieces of luggage because of this? :confused3
Hey there sweetie!! I've finally caught up with your report - everything looks & sounds great :thumbsup2 Both the resorts you were looking at seem beautiful and has made me wonder about staying off site next time we are able to go :confused3 You should definately do the breakfast at crystal palace - you'll love it :goodvibes We had breakfast there on our honeymoon so you can hear all about it in my report with photos too :thumbsup2
CONGRATULATIONS!! On your little baby boy :hug: Bet you are soooo excited!!! :cheer2:
Your wedding photos are gorgeous - I love your bouquet, is stunning :love: The look on your fathers face during that garter photo is priceless :lmao:
I'm liking the items you've bought so far for your trip, that tink pin is really cute! There's nothing wrong with planning and writing lists, even if your trip was 3 years away - planning is part of the holiday fun & gets you excited :yay: Can't wait to read more xxx
I'm glad you decided to stop by! :hug:
Thanks for the Crystal Palace suggestion. I really want to go there but not sure since we'll be doing the Princess breakfast at Magic Kingdom, but we'll see?!? I think we'll only be able to budget 2 character meals so I'm going to have a hard time deciding on our 2nd choice.
Thanks for the congrats and the compliment on my bouquet.... I LOVED it!! It couldn't have turned out any better. The people at Disney did a wonderful job.
Sometimes I think I'm silly for making a list already, especially for a person that doesn't even exist yet. :rotfl2:
Hey there! I followed you over from my own PTR.
Have you checked MouseSavers for car rental codes? They usually have great deals with Alamo or National. I've only looked into a couple of things that they offer. Pretty much any car rental company you can think of that is offered in the Orlando area can be found on this site. Check it out here: MouseSavers Car Rental Discounts (http://www.mousesavers.com/rentalcar.html) I hope you find a good deal. I'm still debating about getting a car rental for our 10 day trip but still undecided.
Glad to hear you got a good deal for your flights. I hope I'm just as lucky!
Congrats on your new baby boy. I hope you have a safe delivery and a happy, healthy baby to take along with you on your Disney trip. Too bad my parents never started on me that early. I wish they did! To be born and raised on Disney? Who WOULDN'T want that?!
Keep up the great work with your PTR. Don't get perplexed when nobody replies. People are still reading, trust me. Not everyone always has something to say on the subject. Going into my PTR, I took the mindset that I'm doing this for me - to have something writing to keep referring back to. And if people happen to read and comment along the way, that's a bonus! :thumbsup2
WELCOME!!
I just saw your message after I had posted about finding a rental car on Mouse Savers. :rotfl2: Thanks for the suggestion anyway. Nobody else could offer me any advice. :confused3
Thanks for the congrats and well wishes! We're super excited for his arrival. Our kids are going to be so sick of Disney by the time they're 18. :rotfl2: DD is 3 and she's already been on some type of Disney vacation 3 times. :rolleyes1
I think if you check it at the gate it isn't charged as luggage. There was a woman on my Vegas flight traveling alone with a baby in a travel system and I don't htink they charged her...and she didn't have to check it this way when we de-boarded the plane she could put the baby in it!
Cute T-shirts. I have been disapointed with TDS sales on tee's...I remember getting tees before our trip for like $3 or $4, now they list them for 2 for 15 and people are supposed to think it's a good deal?!?!?!?
Thanks! That would be awesome if they didn't charge us. It's going to cost us an arm and a leg with all the luggage we're going to need between the 8 of us. :scared1:
Yeah, i was disapointed with the sales they had going on at the Disney Store today. Luckily I have 6 months to look for some good deals.
Hi ! :wave2:
I just found your PTR, and wanted to say, Hi!
We are going March 10-18, and I just want to plan, plan, plan.
Your little girl is so adorable, what a fun age !
We took our twins for the first time to Disneyland when they were 3,
and I have the cutest pictures !!!
We are a disneyland family, because it is SO much closer than WDW.
So, when we get to do WDW, I cannot get enough of the DIS boards.
So, have fun planning. :lovestruc
I'll check in, and see how the plans are going.
I think I'll start a PTR in a few months, I don't really have much
accomplished yet !!!!:rolleyes1
And, congratulations on your baby ! :flower3:
I always love when you respond, you always know how to make me feel better and always give me something to think about! :hug:
I AM on facebook .... Look me up sometime .... I'm under Reyasmommy!!
And thank you back for recognizing me as your friend. :) It's funny the friendships we form with strangers here on the Dis, isn't it? I appreciate your honesty and openess about what's going on in your life. I don't have alot of friends.. mostly just family members I am close to... I can be pretty reserved about myself so I admire openess in others. It makes it easier for people to bond to you if you put yourself out there!
I added you on facebook! Now you can see how weird I really am! :eek: I don't scrap book so I love to post pictures and TR our daily lives whenever something fun comes up.
I loved, loved, LOVED your pins! So cute! Tshirts are great, too. Did you hear they are no longer doing "free name sewing" on the Mickey Ears at DL??? Yup.. gotta pay for that new parking lot makeover somehow, eh???? :laughing:
Yea, a nice rug oughta help with that little bloody nose icident.. maybe she had it before she fell? She musta clunked pretty hard to get a bleeder.. poor thing! :hug:
I am very happy that you have a following...
Never too early to start a packing list.....you can always add and delete as you get closer to the trip which reminds me that I need to start mine....
IF WDW has discount codes, they will probably come out late October for Jan/Feb/Mar. Discounts for other offsite properties should follow suit.
No problem, you're stuck with me now :laughing::hug:
We've never done the CRT for breakfast so I cant wait to hear your review. We did have an evening meal their during wishes and that was really good so i'm sure the breakfast will be great too!! :goodvibes There are lots of cute character meals arent there - makes it hard to make a choice. I'd love to do the Stitch breakfast at the Poly :yay: We did the one at the Beach Club on our first trip and that was really really good!!!
Your bouquet was really lovely :) Do you have any more wedding photos that you can post? I'd love to see them :wizard:
:lmao: at 'the person who doesnt exist yet' - of course he does, he's just hiding in your tummy until it's disney time!!! ;) Nothing wrong with being prepared and getting excited, planning is one of the things women do best :thumbsup2
I'm glad you found a rental car, I wouldnt have been much use with the advice as we used a website for a company based in the UK.
HI!!! Glad you stopped by! :woohoo:
I LOVE my SLR camera!!! It takes amazing pictures and I can't wait to actually learn how to use it. The ONLY thing I don't like about SLR's is the size.. It's hard to walk around carrying a large camera when you have ones that you can just stick in your pocket...Plus you have to make sure you NEVER leave it unattended because you'd be stupid to leave a $800.00 camera sitting in your diaper bag... I would cry like a baby if it was stolen. I had a huge scare last time I went to WDW where I accidentley left my camera bag sitting on a bench and realized 20mins later that I didn't have it on me.... You've never seen somebody run so fast across the length of Magic Kindgom.. I couldn't believe it was still there. My $1000.00 camera was still there! :scared1: Unfortunately I've damaged that camera and whenever I take pictures with it, it has a big spot in the center of each of the pictures so that's why I had to buy a new one.
I still haven't talked to my SIL. :rolleyes1 Well, we've spoken very little anyway. We had to see each other the other day at the reunion and were civil to one another but I tried to ignore her as best as possible without being a total evil witch. Like Mel said in her previous message some relationships are toxic and that's exactly what her relationship is to me. TOXIC. But I have to figure out a way to get along with her because she is my brothers wife. ... When we went to DLR last year we got along really well, but within the last 6 months or so things have gone down hill. We're only 20 days apart with our pregnancies and that doesn't help matters at all. :sad2:
Too bad we won't be at WDW at the same time. I'm getting my tush out of there before the large spring break crowd makes an entrance though. I'm going to sorta consider this a 4th birthday trip for my daughter too. Her birthday is March 25th. Wow!!! They grow up WAY too fast!
:lmao::rotfl2::woohoo::yay:
Thanks for taking the day off!!! :hug:
Hope your headache gets better soon!!
Yay for renting a car:banana: Glad you got a good rate! One thing checked off your list.
Toxic is a good way to describe the relationship with my SIL as well. I personally would do fine never seeing her again. She's selfish, hypocritical, mean, and just someone that I would never choose to be around. But she is my DH's sister but get this, he can't stand her either! In fact, no one in her family can. Yeah, she sounds like a winner eh? So I can totally relate to your situation. It's SO hard. But you just have to focus on you and your life and your family. That's what's important:thumbsup2 At least you can still be civil around each other! I personally have to restrain myself from saying/doing something I'd regret when I'm around my SIL
And, congratulations on your baby !
Hello!! Thanks for reading! :hug:
So do you know where you are going to be staying in March? I noticed "off site". Maybe you should check out where we are?!? I'm nervous but excited for a new experience.
I hope your liking my DLR pictures then. I'm actually really surprised on how many WDW fans have never been to DLR?!? I admit it's nothing like WDW, but I love it all the same.
Thanks for the congrats on the baby! We're so happy! I'm anxious to meet him.
And thank you back for recognizing me as your friend. :) It's funny the friendships we form with strangers here on the Dis, isn't it? I sure hope people don't think I'm strange for my open-ness at times? I'm glad you appreciate it. :rotfl:
I'm the same way.... I don't scrapbook and like to post pictures and share my experiences with people online. I really should start a blog, but I just don't have the time with planning my trip and getting ready for baby. So I sorta kill two birds with one stone when I write on the DIS.
You got any trips coming up anytime soon?
Catching Fire comes out in 7 days!!! :woohoo: Do you plan on reading it? I've been slacking on my reading lately... I have a lot of catching up to do.
I think someone has people posting on their PTR...;) :thumbsup2
Making a list is soooo much fun! Just wish I could start packing already. :rotfl:
I do have lots of pictures but my stupid scanner broke. Once I get a new one I'll be sure to scan and post more pictures for you.
My DD seriously begs EVERYDAY to go to Dizzy World... But I have to keep reminding her that we can't go until the baby comes out.. She keeps complaining that the baby is "stuck" and is ready for him to be born so she can leave the trip already. :lmao:
I hope you stick around.... I love having ya here.
It always feels good to check something off my list. :woohoo:
Sorry you're having a hard time with your SIL too... It's the pits!! I have 1 other SIL that I don't get along with either, but luckily I only have to see her once a year if that. But luckily I also have one that I DO get along with really well. She's the one I'm going to WDW with, and I don't know what I'd do without her sometimes. I couldn't ask for a better sister. :hug:
Ticket Dilemma
So I canít decide if we want to buy the 8 day ((NON-PARK HOPPER)) pass for $678.00
OR
The 7 day ((PARK HOPPER)) pass for $703.00
Weíre officially doing 6 days total at Disney, 1 day at Universal Studios, 1 day at Islands of Adventure, and 1 day at the Beach plus Wonderworks.
My SIL really wanted to get a PARK HOPPER because they like to hang out at one park during the day, head back to the room for naps and swimming, then back for more Disney. But Iím thinking that since weíre going during off season the parks will close around 8 or 9 so there really is no use in going back at night?!
But if we get an 8 day pass we can make a short trip to MK on our arrival day and departure day if we decide too?!?
I just have a feeling Iím not going to do a LOT of park hopping with a 3 month old and the parks closing at 8 or 9.
Any opinions?!?
It really sucks when your vacation is SOOO far away and you WANT so badly to be able to PLAN all the details down to the minute. :rolleyes1 Iím in MAJOR planning mode right now and frustrated that I canít set anything is Stone yet.:sad2:
Iím already stressing myself out trying to figure out what weíre going to do about getting to the airport. How sad is that?!?! Weíre over 6 months away and Iím stressed out about that. :lmao: Darn pregnancy hormones!!
Scenario #1. I guess this would be the worse case scenario Ö. weíll have to drive ourselves and pay $110.00 for economy parking! :scared1:
Scenario # 2 : Drive to a RTD bus lot and take the ďSky RideĒ to the Airport. This will cost a total of $60.00 Round trip. Not sure if the $40.00 savings would be worth lugging so much baggage and kids or not? :confused3 Plus Iím not sure if they charge you for actually parking in the lot?
Scenario # 3: Right now we only live 8-10 minutes away from the airport. But something has come up, to where we could FINALLY be moving in the next few months. :yay: If things donít go as planned and weíre still living in our Condo my Cousin Brandon could take us to the airport and he could also house sit for us and watch our dogs while weíre gone. :woohoo: He would have to make two trips however. But not a big deal since we're so close.
Our flight leaves at 8:05 AM so we need to be at the airport around 6:00AM? Denver International is a HUGE airport and I want to give ourselves plenty of time. So obviously itís going to be an EARLY morning. And knowing me I wonít be able to get any sleep the night before because Iíll be so freakiní excited! :cool1:
Iíll be sure to let you all know what we decide to doÖ. Iím thinking nothing will be decided until a week or so before our departure. But at this point EVERYTHING is pretty much up in the air since weíre so far out. Iím sure Iíll change my mind a million times on what weíre doing and seeing. :confused3 Iím just glad that airline reservations are set and there is NO WAY we can back out of the trip. At least one thing is SET.:thumbsup2
Hello there! I just started reading this pre-trip and I am really enjoying it so so far! First off - your DD is a doll...soooo cute! Secondly, I know I already mentioned this in my pre-trip but I love, love, LOVE that you are planning a trip for your baby boy before he's born! I did that too and I am SO glad I did!
We aren't getting hoppers for our trip. We have ALWAYS bought them in the past but last trip (with a 3yo and 6mo) we didn't hop ONCE. We went to the parks for rope drop, rode rides until lunch, had a quick lunch and back to the resort for naps/pool/quiet time. We would go back to the same park in the PM for dinner and more rides.
Lizzybear
08-26-2009, 09:04 AM
The parks close relatively early for some days during our trip too but we plan to start early, have a short break at the resort and then return late afternoon to a different park so if you were doing something similar you could always just return to the same park as the AM :goodvibes Saying that, I bet with a 3 month old you'd be doing shorter park days anyway so it sounds like the 'non hopper but an extra day' option would work better for you :)
Hmmm this is a tricky one! Could you not get the passes which each family want? So you guys would get to do what you want like MK on your first day and the rest of the family could nap etc... ?
It really sucks when your vacation is SOOO far away and you WANT so badly to be able to PLAN all the details down to the minute. :rolleyes1 Iím in MAJOR planning mode right now and frustrated that I canít set anything is Stone yet.:sad2:
It is fun planning Jayden's 1st trip to WDW.... I love it.
Thanks for the advice on parkhopping... I doubt we'll do it. If SIL wants to thats fine, but I just can't do it with a 3 month old.
She's going to be so excited when he's born because she'll feel closer to her holiday :laughing: Don't worry, i'll be sticking around :hug:
Hmmm this is a tricky one! Could you not get the passes which each family want? So you guys would get to do what you want like MK on your first day and the rest of the family could nap etc... ?
It does suck but there are plenty of things you can start figuring out and things you can start buying or even making! Do you do any craft type hobbies??
Yeah, she's always complaining that her brother is stuck.... This morning she wanted to look at my belly button.... I asked her if she could see the baby through it and she insisted she could. :lmao:
I'm going to sit down with my SIL this weekend and discuss what we should do with the tickets.
The 7 day park hopper would be a huge discount with my BIL's florida resident ID... Non-resident it's $825.00. But I still think I'm going to go with the 8 day. We'll see. :confused3
I'm sure with the ages of YOUR kids you will not wanting to be PHing. How old are the other kids? Is it possible for your BIL and SIL to get PH and you guys plan the mornings together (or afternoons) then part ways just after dinner? This way you can get some rest, along with the baby and Reya and Daddy (or you) could get some pool time in?
I know you will only have 1 car for the 2 families (am I right?) so someone will be 'stuck.' When we have gone with family in the past we stayed on property to avoid the whole car thing. We went the 1st time as a family with my dad, his wife, their 6mo old twins, my 19yo brother, my 10 yo neice, my best friend, and us....we drove 1, 15pass van down and stay in 3 rooms at ASMo. Oct 08 we (the 4 of us, plus my niece) went with MIL and FIL, we drove a 12 pass van and stayed in 3 rooms at ASMo. My mom has a timeshare at Orange Lakes she would have given us for the transfer of weeks for $115, so it would have been WAY cheaper, but we didn't want to have to deal with the whole 'car issue.' It's a good thing we did, cause my MIL spent most of the week in the hotel room and boy would I have been PO'd if we all would ahve had to leave cause she wanted to. That is why this time we are going...just us!!!!!!
That's what I was discussing with my husband earlier. If SIL and her family want to PH we can just split up later in the day, he agreed that would work. Just haven't discussed it with SIL yet. ;)
Actually we're getting two cars, it was way cheaper then getting a van. So that would work out just perfect if we decide to split up. :woohoo:
I just HAD to share these hilarious pictures I took of DD yesterday morning.
They were taken shortly after we both woke up, so thatís why she has such crazy Bed Head.. I swear I donít let her go out in public looking like that!
:lmao:
We were both sitting on the couch watching cartoons when I look over and notice she somehow got a hold of my chapstick. ((She loves chapstick)) and this is what I see!:scared1:
I have to actually go on my Sept trip before I plan too much of my March trip, at least that's what I keep telling myself :rotfl:
Just read through and wanted to comment on a few things...
Your DD is adorable and congratulations on your little boy! :goodvibes
And my DMIL already has a copy of the new Vampire Academy book (Blood Promise) waiting for me at her house... I'll pick it up this weekend when we meet at the coast for an overnighter .. Too funny! I'm pretty sure her butt is padded though.
I LOVE those parade pics from DL....now I want to go see that parade!
Where is this Winnie the Pooh Outfit for baby??? Does he have a name yet? I may have missed that part.
My mom got me a Winnie the Pooh doll from K-mart when I was 1 1/2 years old. I still have him and though he doesn't look much like the modern Pooh's he's mine and I love him!
There's actually a funny (or just plain weird - you decide) story about my bear that I will post on my PTR.
Totally true! I have luck finding cute boy stuff at Baby Gap and Nordstrom the most. I also really like Mini Boden, but it's pricey so I wait for sales. Yes, they're from DLR. Once I get through those pictures I'll be sure to post out WDW vacation photos too. If I'm correct it's Cinderella's castle that's at WDW and Sleeping Beauty's castle is at DLR. In my opinion Princess Aurora got the short end of the stick. :rotfl:
Like most of you disers I like to make my Disney plans as detailed as possible before I leave. :goodvibes Everything is usually planed down to the minute from what shows weíll see, to the meals weíll eat, and the rides weíll ride. But unfortunately with a 3 month old baby Iím thinking this just isnít realistic and will be doing my planning a ďlittleĒ differently this time. :rolleyes1
The two biggest changes are that Iím only going to make one ADR per day and instead of deciding EXACTLY what rides weíre going to ride and in what order Iím just going to make a MUST-DO list for the day. I guess weíll see how it works out.?!?:confused3
Love, love the Pooh outfit. Pooh's my fav, so I'm just a little biased. Hence my son had tons of Pooh clothes, stuffies, decorations...in fact his room is classic pooh! ;) DS was even "Super-Sleuth Pooh" for Halloween this past year...oops, I've passed on my obsession with Pooh :rotfl:
Reya looks precious in her dance outfit :goodvibes
Carter's is a good one, and so is Macy's, my DMom gets lots of really cute boy's clothes for DS there...and she's a great bargain hunter so they're always a sweet deal. :woohoo:
Pooh is pretty great. :goodvibes
I'm glad you like the DLR pictures... I'm hoping that it is inspiring some people who've never been to give it a try. I'm a WDW girl all the way but I do love my DLR too.
I've never checked out macy's for baby clothes before, I'm gonna have to do that. They just built one about 5 miles from here so maybe I'll go tomorrow. :cheer2:
Sounds like a great Day 2 plan!
I'm a super planner too but I draw the line at planning which rides we'll do when. I know the parks like the back of my hand, so we'll just make a list of highlights (like you) and work our way around...I don't want to be too rigid b/c I'm already going to be pushing it to get to rope drop most days.
Plus I want to relax & not be a drill sargeant for the trip, you know?
I think you're very clever to build in some extra cushion w/ your plans :thumbsup2
Yeah, you don't want to scare off your friends.. :lmao: I'm going to need to learn how to compromise on this trip, there's too many other people to consider and not everyone is going to agree. We've also discussed that it's okay for us to split up for a little while if need be.
I forgot to add that the little *'s indicate the rides that the baby can go on with us... That's what I LOVE about disney!! I'll have a 3 month old baby that can do more then 1/2 of the attractions....and the baby swap thing is so wonderful.
I love your must do's! I need to do that for my trip. :goodvibes
Thank you! ;)
Hey! Just read through your entire PTR and I'm really enjoying it so far! I love the way you do your must do's...I'm thinking of doing it like that for my upcoming trips, the way you wrote it all out gave me ideas!
First, I have to ask..I take it you and your sister in law made up after your CA trip, as you're going on this one together?:lmao:
The people I nanny for took their 3 month old on a plane in July. She was super nervous- she said she just put him on her **** on the way up and on the way down and he slept the entire time! I'm sure you could do this with a bottle to distract the little guy. She said everything went awesome!
About the parking dilema- I know at Bradley in Hartford, and also in Providence, they have a "park and ride" hotel room type deal. Now I don't know if this would be too much of a hassle with a baby and kids and everyone, but you pay one low price- in Hartford at La Quinta Inn and Suites is $89.00- for the night before your trip and to park for the entire time you are gone. This would mean you have to stay there the night before, but since you have to get to the airport early, maybe this would be helpful. They offer a continental breakfast and free transportation to and from the airport, along with baggage assistance. What I always do is pack an "overnight" bag with what I need for one night- toothbrush, toothpaste, change of clothes- and then just leave it in my car in the morning before I leave. Sorry that's a whole lot of info but I figured I'd throw it out there :rotfl:
Your pictures are making me want to go to Disneyland- I've never been there and should take a trip there sometime!
Can't wait to hear more!
Actually different sister-in-law. ;) My brother's wife is the one I'm having problems with right now and my husbands sister is the one we're going to Disney with. :thumbsup2
Thanks for the compliments. :)
I'll have to check around and see if they have any hotels that offer a "park and ride" deal.?!? I've never heard of such a thing but it's worth checking into. "If" we're still living in my cond it wouldn't make much sense because we're closer to the airport then most hotels. DIA isn't like most airports, it's seriously in the middle of no-where.
I'm glad you like the Disney Photos, I'm going to post some more tonight.
Another Random Post ÖÖÖ..
So, if you notice my ticker below Iíve reached the DOUBLE DIGIT countdown of my pregnancyÖ Iím down to 99 days!!! :woohoo: Sometimes I wonder how itís physically possible for me to get much bigger? I have 14 weeks to go and am scared at what my belly is going to look like at the end of those 14 weeks. Sleeping is almost impossible these days and I get up to pee between 6-10 times a night. :sad2: At the same time I LOVE it though. Itís so amazing to sit here and feel my little boy move and grow inside me. Itís truly a miracle and I appreciate every moment of itÖ:cloud9: ((even when he kicks my bladder, kidneys, and ribs when Iím trying to fall asleep at night. ))
On another note my little girl starts her very 1st dance class tomorrow! Weíre both so excited for this new adventure in her life. Iíll be sure to post pictures when we get home.princess:
*******
Today I bought a bunch of Disney Pins on Ebay for our upcoming trip !!! I got 20 pins for $22.00 (including shipping) Iím so excited to see them!!! :yay:
I also bought this cute Tinkerbell lanyard. I havenít decided who Iím going to give it to yet. Iíve actually thought about keeping it for myself and giving Pin Trading a chance, but I donít think I want to be wearing a lanyard full of pins all day long while holding a 3 month old, just doesnít seem like a great idea.:rolleyes1
Itís been sitting up in my closet since then. I just happened upon it last week when I was organizing my closet. :woohoo: Reya has had me read it to her every night since and she canít seem to get enough. Itís the cutest book ever and I love that itís getting her all psyched and prepared for DisneyÖÖ Iím going to try and see if sheíll settle for Cinderella tonight though. :rotfl2:
Congrats on being in the double digits! I promise you'll get through it, your belly is going to get so much bigger! Side note- I have no babies of my own but i majored in child development/early childhood education in college and have been working with infants/toddlers for going on 5 years now, so I have a facination with the first 5 years of development.
And I think it's so funy how Reya had no hair in the pictures at Disneyland, now she has such beautiful hair! When I was at the daycare, I had a little girl who had no hair..her mother used to try her hardest to put little bows in it...eventually she was just like GROW YOUR HAIR DARNIT!:rotfl:
DD Reya had her very first dance class today, itís s milestone in both our lives. She was so adorable and eager to learn!
Hereís some pictures I took. Unfortunately they arenít the best. The parents werenít allowed in the actual classroom today because the dance instructor didnít want us to distract the little tykes on their 1st day. So we had to sit outside what they call the ďfishbowlĒ
It's an awesome book... To my understanding you can only buy them in the park and that was 2 years ago, hopefully they still sell them. It's so adorable,each page shows Mickey and his bear on ALL the rides at Magic Kingdom and the last page shows them watching the fireworks at the end of the night. :love:
I used to get mad at the fact that my DD didn't have any hair, but now that she has it I secretly wish she didn't because it takes to much time to do .. I miss the days that we could just get dressed and walk out the door because she was bald. :lmao:
love love love the dance pictures! One of my earliest memories of my childhood is when they had a special "daddy and me" dance class, where the daddies had to come dance with their little girls..i remember dancing on my dad's workboots! You must be so excited..did you cry? I will probably break down in tears every milestone with my child!
Thank you... I really wish I could have gotten some better photos without that glass in the way... Oh well. :confused3 There's another 7 weeks of classes to go.
Bug land was themed sooooo well... I loved it. The kids had so much fun cause everything was just their size.. And only one way in and one way out.
Actually I started to cry after I was talking to my Grandma and Sister-in-law on the phone. :rolleyes1 The entire time I was there watching her I was just smiling ear to ear.
Each milestone that passes is so bitter-sweet! ;)
No, it's a slow moving train ride.
Aww Reya looks so 'big girl' in her dance class pictures, wow! I used to love ballet when I was little, I hope if I ever have a girl that she'll want to do it :)
I'm a bit sad I never took any pictures of the Bug's Life section in DCA since it'll more than likely be rethemed by the time we go to DLR again, we just never made it to that bit of the park. I know it's all kiddie rides but I loved the movie :)
I really hope they leave that area alone, it's just TOO cute... I was bummed though because "It's tough to be a bug" was down the entire time we were there.. I haven't been keeping up on whats going on at DLR... Are they still re-doing California Adventure? I know the plans they had were looking pretty cool.. I was excited about the Radiator Springs area and the Little Mermaid Ride? :yay:
I've only been once and it really was for like 3 hours so I don't think it counts! I was in town for a seminar and was able to just squeeze in a little Disney after dinner one night.
I SO want to go back and see all of that stuff that I never saw.
OMG!!!! The newest Vampire Academy book is out?!?!? I had NOOOO idea! Gotta hit Barnes and Noble tomorrow!
So what did you think? You can read all of my thoughts in the "After Twilight Book Club" thread if you want to discuss the book I'd love to!
I am almost done with Catching Fire which is part 2 of "The Hunger Games" .. I'm not sure if you read that one. It's not something I would normally read but I picked it up and I got SUCKED IN SO HARD I read it in one night. Part 2, so far, is ok but not as good (typical).
I'm all caught up on your TR and i have to say: 1) I loved the pictures of the parade (not the pixar ones, though they were good, but the other parade). They were so clear and vibrant.. great job! 2) the pictures from your DAY 2 post.. those were also incredibley vibrant and clear. I love a good picture!
You said you were getting a new camera and I am so jealous! Your "old" camera was clearly better than my current ($350) camera and in no way could I afford a new one! What kind of camera WAS your old one? It was really nice.. I have always enjoyed your shots!
As usual, the pictures of Reya are amazing (and your little nephew too in his pirate ears.. too cute!) and I love following you on Facebook. The picture of her right after your comment "I love her expressions they crack me up" absolutely made me laugh out loud. She is too fun to look at! Thanks for sharing!
Hello Darling.... I was wondering if you were still reading along?!? Glad to see ya. :)
I was using the older version of the Canon Digital Rebel in my older photos. It was a great camera but I screwed it up somehow and it now it takes photos with a huge black spot in the middle of all the pictures.
Thanks for all the lovely comments! You're so sweet. :)
I'm currently on page 296 of Catching Fire. I absolutley agree it's not nearly as good as Hunger games. :( I think it started out great until they started the games again.
I'm also currently reading the latest Vampire Academy book and twilight for the 3rd time. I can't even tell you how excited I am for the next movie. I'm going to be almost 38 weeks preggo when it comes out, so I told all my friends that we need to sit somewhere that I'll have easy access to the restroom. :rotfl2: I already pee every 30 mins, can't imagine how bad it's going to be then?!? OHHHHHH YAY MEL, You're here!!!!:banana:
Thank you! We're super excited to be expecting. It's going to be interesting having a 3 month old baby at the parks with us. My DD was 6 months the first time we took her to DL though, and she had the best time ever.
any tips at that age?
[CENTER]
For those of you who are more experienced with flying do you have any advice? Is it better to wait till closer to departure, or is it better to purchase FAR in advance? Are there any secrets to getting better airfare?:confused3
okay, i just made it over and haven't finished the whole report yet,but...
from what i've found, tickets seem to be at a high price when you are far out from the travel date. when you start nearing the trip date, the prices start dropping (unless the flight is booking quickly) then at about a month or three weeks, tickets are up in teh air- they can rise, drop, or stay the same, depending on the fullness of the flight.
however, with most major airlines, if the flight fare drops after you book it, you can call and get a credit for the difference (typically a voucher towards a future flight) the trick is though that you have to catch it and notify them.
my dd's first flight was at just over 2 years- the flight itself was the best entertainment for her- soaring above the clouds. we also brought color wonders, books, and snacks. someone near us brought a mini etch-a sketch or something like that and it seemed to really be a hit. we also bought her a drink to have for ear popping.
i've always heard to feed the baby during take off and landing to help with ear popping, so that is what i'm planning on doing.
[QUOTE=reyasmommy;33250159]Thanks Jordan and Lizzy!!!!! I'm glad you're still here! :thumbsup2
I'm not having ANY luck finding a decent priced rental car? We definitely need at least a FULL SIZED car to accomodate all of our lugguge, full sized stroller, and a crib. The cheapest I've found thus far is for $579.00 for 10 days? Does this sound like a good price to anyone? I'm kicking myself in the butt for not jumping on a car I saw at thrifty last week for $517.00. When I logged back on a couple of days ago to book the car it went up to over $900.00 :scared1:
typically, rental car agencies will charge you weekly rentals sometimes at 4 days, sometimes at 5 days. so possibly, extending your rental by a few hours to add an extra day could end up cheaper.
also, there are many, many fees added at airport locations. and there are sometimes fees added at hotel locations too. so if there was some way to shuttle to your hotel and maybe pick up a rental car at a different location, it could possible provide significant savings. for example, i just priced a one day full size rental at hertz in march- an airport rental could run $78- $92 for a full size, depending on if you pay in advance or not, but the same rental at the wyndham cost $67/ day, but the same full size rental at greenway ford with pickup service only cost $48/ day (the prices i listed are with taxes and fees)
i have no idea where greenway ford is- it was just a location i found that i knew was not an airport or hotel- but the moral is play around. it may be a bit more of a hassle, but at a savings of $30 a day, you could even taxi to the hotel if you could find a rental car pick up service.
I donít know whatís happening to my sweet, loving, little girl!! We had NO problems at two and all of a sudden sheís turning into a lil devil at three!! She is definitely hitting the ďTRYING THREEíSĒ
OHHHHHH BOY!!!!! :scared1:
these pics could be my dd at 3! totally obsession with chapstick AND total terror. thankfully she's really come around lately close to her 4th birthday last month. now she's just getting a bit sassy. already makes me dread the tween/teen years.
I know, it's so cute!!! I hate to admit it but it's so hard to find any REALLY cute boys clothes, it's so disapointing!! Having a girl has been so much fun because of all the adorable clothes they have out there for them. Don't get me wrong there are cute boys clothes but not nearly as many as girls.
the fun for boys clothing is the thrill of the hunt. i really have to look around to find something different from the typical. I LOVE to bargain hunt too, so its right up my alley. Ive been finding cute things at gymboree, crazy8, carters, and target. kohls had some cute things but i've been having terrible wash wear from there lately on the baby clothes (jumping bean brand). i also sometimes will buy a cute hat and get a few more basic tops to coordinate and that can be sooo cute!
with a 3 month old baby Iím thinking this just isnít realistic and will be doing my planning a ďlittleĒ differently this time. :rolleyes1
The two biggest changes are that Iím only going to make one ADR per day and instead of deciding EXACTLY what rides weíre going to ride and in what order Iím just going to make a MUST-DO list for the day. I guess weíll see how it works out.?!?:confused3
;)
this is pretty much how i'm going. luckily, i have a baby who is just as likely to nap out in public then at home. so i'm hoping this trend will continue on our trip.
we are going to make a must do list, plan the fast pass runs for the morning, and go with the flow.
your DL pics make me want to go. we actually went last year for one day, but sort of on a whim. we we visiting friends at camp pendleton, and had the goal of doing MNSSHP. well, of course i made the mistake of telling dd we were trick or treating with mickey. and of course it was sold out. so we just decided to go for one day. 3 girls under 4, two pregnant women, and my poor dh. we didn't get there until maybe 10. we went to the parking lot, paid, and then proceeded to be directed in a line through the parking lot, back out to the streets, and then through another parking lot. so like an hour later, we finally hit the parking tram. we only saw about three characters that day, and each time we got to the front they took breaks. LOTS of tears form a sweet girl who had never been to anything disney in her life. the only redeeming feature to the day was that my bff was in an ecv and we got to hit almost every ride there that pregnant ladies could ride. i left knowing that we had to go back and do it right another day. you've got me wanting to go back.
i'm also jealous you live in denver area. my favorite band is from there and i swear i'd spend a million bucks on babysitters so i could see them in every single local concert ever.
sorry to hear about your family. hoping for a quick recovery by all.
I'm sad to hear about your family's health problems. My husband's mother is in her 80's and it seems like there's always something....it's just very hard, I'm so sorry that you're going through this :hug:
Thanks for posting more DL pics, I really want to get back there. I love those candy corn letters, too cute.
Deanna, where are you hon? It must be busy times at your house...I hope all is well! :flower3:
I was just thinking of something the other day...I know you like young adult fiction, have you ever read the Inkheart trilogy? I liked that one. One of the main characters is named Reesa and it reminded me of the name Reya...
And I was also looking at the Nicholas Flamel stories the other day...have you read those? I am going to try them I think - I'm always looking for a worthy successor to Harry Potter :rolleyes:
Hello Everyone!! I'm so sorry I've been missing in action for awhile. Things here have been CRAZY to say the least. Mostly dealing with a LOT of parental health issues between my father and my husbands mom. Both of them have have test after test trying to figure out what's wrong with them. And on top of that my poor baby girl had to have an unexpected double root canal a few days ago.
My baby shower is tomorrow however and I'm soooooo ready to let my hair down and have some fun celebrating the upcoming birth of my baby boy.
I'll try to reconnect with everyone on this DIS sometime this weekend. I hope none of you have given up on me.
talk to ya soon!! :hug:
Hello Everyone!!
I've been gone from the boards for a couple months, preparing myself and our family for our newest addition.
I'm proud to announce that I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy 5 nights ago. Jayden was born on December 15th at 6:44 PM and was 6lbs 7oz and 19 1/2 inches. I was 6 days past my due date and induced, the whole process only took about 10 1/2 hours, but it was an extremely hard and scary labor and delivery. I wasn't planning on going without pain meds, but that's how it turned out since my epidural and spinal I was given didn't work. And my crazy little boy gave me a real scare when it was time to push because his heart would stop everytime I had a contraction. Turns out he had his umbilical cord wrapped around his neck 3 times and once around his body. As a result he had MAJOR breathing problems when he was born and was rushed to the NICU once I pushed him out, and I wasn't even able to see or hold him for several hours after his birth. BUT...... Everything worked out in the end and now he's completely happy and healthy and I couldn't ask for a better baby... I'm SOOOOOO unbelievably in LOVE with him. http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p218/slackerdeanna/029.jpg
I'll be doing more trip planning really soon. I can't believe that we leave in less then 3 months. I have TONS to do..... Please stick around and be patient. Having a newborn at home doesnt leave me much time.
