Hello All! I haven't been here in so long so I'm at a loss as to where to start looking for something sports themed for my DS4's 5th birthday. I'd like to make him a t-shirt to wear for both the party at our house and to our SURPRISE Disney trip the following week (for his actual birthday!!). His "theme" is "sports" - I know, it's really general. I picked up stuff for treat bags on sale after Easter and it's all sports - tennis, football, baseball and soccer. He also likes race cars and hockey. I would be appreciative for ANY designs you could come up with. I would love if it were Disney themed in some way since I'm planning a SURPRISE trip for our family (no one knows but me and my DIS friends!). I need the invites this week so I can print them off by Friday and hand them out to some people we'll be seeing on Saturday. Ideally I would like a picture for the t-shirt, invites, a picture I can print on the front of a thank you card and the candy bar wrappers but I will take whatever I can get at this point with such short notice. I can fill in the details but DS4's name is Corbin and he's turning 5. I'm sorry I don't have any more ideas than that right now....I was thinking I had longer to work on this but now he wants to invite his t-ball friends and their last game is Saturday morning at 9:00. :headache: I'm going to search for some clip art to see if there's anything I can find to try and help any DISigner who's willing to work on this out a little bit. Now both of my computers have died at home so I'm not able to do anything anymore as far as DISigning until we save up for a new computer.:guilty:

TIA for anyone who's able to help me out!!! :goodvibes

Will work on a DISign as soon as I am home from work today! I have a great clip art (a coloring page that I have completed). Will do what I can to help!

I have lots of it already designed on paper and am ready to go when I am home!

Invitation:

The wording is times new roman (italics) and I left room at the bottom so you can add location, time, RSVP, etc. If you need help adding the specifics. Send me a pm with your email and I can and the specifics and I would be happy to help. Also, this is sized to 8.5x5.5 including a white border around it. All you need to do to print is cut a piece of white cardstock in half. Also, in word go to page setup and change all of the margins to "0". When the pop-up comes up saying something about "outside of the printable..." click on ignore. Then go to "format" and "picture" and make sure the size is 8.5x5.5. I think I made the white borders big enough where everything should print fine. If you need me to set it up in word for you...pm me your email.

Candy Bar Wrapper:

When you copy this into word. Go to "format" and "picture" and make sure the size is width 5.25 and height 5.5. This will fit around a regular hershey's milk chocolate bar.

RustManFan...I think we were posting at the same time. There wasn't anything else open when I opened up my reply to add the things I made. I'm sure she would love options for her party. I've been wanting to tell you ever since I first saw your name...I orginially thought you were a fan of the Tin Man in The Wizard of Oz. Now I know it is race cars. :goodvibes

Thank you! I figured people would have to wait until later in the evening to work on it as many have "real" jobs :goodvibes Can't wait to see what you've got on paper!

Thank you both so much - I really appreciate all of the help!!!

Here is one from your clipart.

A favor idea for you...I had a "sports bash" last year for my son and I set up a photography area at the party and had my sister take individual pictures of all of the children. I have two sons that play college ball so we have a bunch of jerseys which I used as the backdrop by taping in them to the wall. In front of where the children sat on the floor I put helmets, balls, gloves, etc. from all kind of sports. Then I made the pictures into sports trading cards, put them in trading card holders and sent them as a "thank you" for coming to the party.

The best website for party ideas is www.birthdaypartyideas.com. I found a TON of games and decorating ideas. Hope your party is great!

THANK YOU both so very much! I'll have to look at them again tonight when I can actually have five minutes of peace and decide which ones I like better so I can at least get the invites done tomorrow night!

Thank you again. It's all amazing work!

I'm going to use this one for sure! Thank you! :goodvibes

In the invite you did, can you take off the invite wording and center the picture so I can use it as the front of thank you cards??

Is it possible to set up your format so that I can print 2 invites on 1 8.5x11 sheet of paper? I don't have a lot of options since I'm trying to print it here while I'm at work. :goodvibes Once I paste the picture into Word, can I add the details on the bottom or do the "picture" need to be made smaller so I can type underneath without having the big white spot.

On the t-shirt, can you remove the "surprise" part? I do like it but I want him to wear the shirt at his party (when he won't know about the surprise!) and while we're at Disney on his birthday! :goodvibes

TIA!!!

THANK YOU both so much for all of your help! I will certainly post pictures once I've got my stuff together! :worship::worship:

I'm so glad that you liked it! The invite is already set up to 8.5 x 5.5 which is half of an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper. All you need to do is change all of the margins to "0" in page setup and change the paper to landscape then insert the picture twice. Send me a PM with your email address and I will set the invite up in word for you if you need the help. If you want me to add any specific details, I can do that as well.

If you are a computer whiz and don't need the help...just use a text box to insert the party details in the blank white spot. If you need a little help...I would be more than glad to do it. Send me a PM with date, time, location of party, RSVP info and whatever else you want on the invite and I will email it to you.

I reread your message and it sounds like you might not know how to insert a text box...I would be happy to help in any way but if you want to try, here is how you do it:

Text Box

Make sure that your cursor is below the image that you want to insert a text box over.

Then look for the tab at the top of word that says "insert".
Scroll down and click on "text box".

A big box will show up on the screen that says text box...ignore this box but look for your mouse that will show up as an +. Move the +/mouse to where you want your text box to go then left click and drag the mouse to make the size box you want for the area you want the wording to go.

Then go back up to the top of word and click on "format".
Then click on "text box".
Look for the tab that says "colors and lines".
In the fill section make sure the color box says "no color"
In the line section make sure the color says "no line".

Then the background will show through behind whatever text you type in the box and there won't be a line around the text box.

Then you can type whatever you want inside the box by clicking inside the box and choosing font and size.

If the box isn't the right size you can drag the corners and sides to make it the right size.
This is great to use when you find a DISign that you like and want to add a name to it. For example, Natalie's great Mickey Heads...she has a lot of blank ones in her shared file that you can add names to.

THANK YOU so very much!! Thank you for the text box directions as well. That I do know how to do! :goodvibes I used to have a program (still have the program just no computer at this time!) on my computer at home to do DISigns...well the computer died and it just hasn't been a priority (it always seems that something else comes up!). Hopefully we'll get one soon. I do miss it that's for sure!

Thank you again for all of your help! They just popped off my printer and look AWESOME! :goodvibes DS4's going to flip when he sees them!:cool1:
