Hello everyone! I'm Amanda and I’m a procrastinator! My wedding is in approximately 4 months and boy do I have plenty to do! I've been reading this board for a while now and seeing everyones PJ's and TR's has been so helpful!

Anyways about us, we’re both Florida residents, I’ve lived in Orlando my whole life and even worked at Disney for a couple years a while back. I'm an RN at nearby hospital and DF is a network specialist at a local high school. We met online and clicked instantly! (Haha) :) Anyways, we are super excited to be doing a Wishes wedding and the months seem to be flying by!

Here’s what we have planned so far….

Wedding Details

Ceremony: Seabreeze Point @ 2:30pm
http://i593.photobucket.com/albums/tt13/amandaisy/sbp.jpg
Date: October 7th, 2009

Cocktail Hour/Reception: Whitehall Room & Patio
http://i593.photobucket.com/albums/tt13/amandaisy/WhitehallPatio-1.jpg
http://i593.photobucket.com/albums/tt13/amandaisy/WhitehallPatio2-1.jpg

Dessert Party: Italy West at EPCOT

Resort for us: Beach Club
Resort for our guests: Caribbean Beach
Guest Count: 38, including us
Honeymoon: Spending a few days at the Beach Club and going to the parks, then going back to work for a week, then going on a 7 day Eastern Carribean (Royal Carribean) cruise!

-No Rehearsal Dinner, or Welcome Brunch, or anything like that ~ But we still wanted to do something the night before our wedding so we’re going to attend MNSSHP (I’m gonna find a casual white dress and get DF one of those t-shirts that looks like a tux and wear our bride/groom Mickey ears). We invited everyone to come on the invites and gave info about it on our website but it’s totally optional…even if it’s just DF and I, I’m sure we’ll have a blast :yay:

Wedding Planner: Ken Weaver
Floral: Rose Dizon
Officiant: Rev. Jack Day
Photographer: Misty Miotto

Colors: Black, Ivory, Dark Red and Silver (for any accents)

Theme: A combo of romance and Italian.
Music: We’re having one violinist to play the ceremony and pre-reception hour.
-Prelude: Romanza, Adagio
-Mother’s Entrance: The Rose
-Groom, Best Man, Groomsman, and Rev. Day Entrance: Groom’s Choir
-MOH and Bridesmaid Entrance: Canon in D
-Bride Entrance: Traditional Bridal Chorus Processional
-Sand Ceremony: Candle on the Water
-Recessional: Traditional Wedding Recessional March, Can You Feel the Love Tonight

We’re doing a staged exit with rose petals…not decided on the whole transportation thing yet, we have Cinderella’s carriage booked but most likely will be switching to the Rolls Royce since we will be able to use it before the ceremony and it can take us to the reception location.

The Menu
We did our taste tasting last week and the food was so amazing. We decided to do a custom menu (we went with an Italian theme, both of our favorites!) since we are both picky so here is what we’re having (and some pics from the session, sorry some of them are missing some pieces of food, I forgot to take the photo before I ate it, lol!)

Here's a photo of a Mickey and Minnie they had on the table when we got there!
http://i593.photobucket.com/albums/tt13/amandaisy/MickeyMinnieatMenuTasting-1.jpg

Pre-Reception: ~ $9.50/pp each
Chicken Bruschetta (the best thing I’ve ever tasted in my whole life, seriously…) and Margherita Pizza.

http://i593.photobucket.com/albums/tt13/amandaisy/ChickenBruschetta.jpghttp://i593.photobucket.com/albums/tt13/amandaisy/MargheritaPizza.jpg

Dinner: ~ $113/pp
-Plated Tomato and Mozzarella Salad with Balsamic Emulsion & Basil & Light Olive Oil
-Served Cinderella’s Ice Slipper with Raspberry Champagne Sorbet (with red light)
http://i593.photobucket.com/albums/tt13/amandaisy/TomatoandMozzarellaSalad.jpghttp://i593.photobucket.com/albums/tt13/amandaisy/CinderellaSlipperwithRaspberryChamp.jpg

Then the rest is buffet style….

Stations:
-Traditional Chicken Parmesan
-Traditional Eggplant Parmesan
-Parmesan Cheese Risotto
-Sautéed Zucchini, Bell Peppers, Squash, and Onions in Olive Oil & Garlic
-Penne alla Vodka with Tomato Basil Cream and Romano and Pecorino Cheese
-Butternut Squash Ravioli with White Cream Sauce (we originally asked for Pumpkin ravioli since our wedding is on October and we wanted a fall type dish but Disney couldn’t get the pumpkin so they substituted this and I thought it sounded disgusting but it was seriously SO good…I can’t wait to have more at the wedding!)
-Baguettes, Foccacia, and Garlic Bread
-Pressed Panini Station
-Garlic Encrusted Sicilian style flank steak (carved to order)http://i593.photobucket.com/albums/tt13/amandaisy/ButternutSquashRavioliwithWhiteCrea.jpghttp://i593.photobucket.com/albums/tt13/amandaisy/GarlicEncrustedFlankSteak.jpg

Custom Specialty Drink: ~ $10/pp
We aren’t having a bar so we decided to serve each person one specialty drink (name TBD!) it’s red to match our colors and has Vodka, Peach Schnapps, and Cranberry Juice. The picture shows the three that we sampled (Pomegranate Cosmo, Ultimate Lemon Drop, and Dream Martini) and then the other photo is the one we chose that we haven’t named yet.

http://i593.photobucket.com/albums/tt13/amandaisy/Drinks2.jpghttp://i593.photobucket.com/albums/tt13/amandaisy/SpecialtyMartini.jpg

Cake: ~ $14/pp min 65 people (with tax and handling fees) = $1,172
Small Bridge to Happiness
-Anniversary Layer ~ Yellow cake with Raspberry Mousse filling
-Top Layer ~ Yellow Cake with White Chocolate Mousse
-Bottom Layer ~ Marble Cake with Milk Chocolate Mousse
Originally we were going to do the white chocolate castle topper but I can’t bear to spend $128 dollars on it so I’ll probably find my own somewhere….The anniversary part over the side will have the Cinderella & Prince Charming topper from Disney ($20).

Dessert Party @ Grand Floridian Marina: ~ Right now it’s $38/pp…that will change…
This is tentative dependent on the MK fireworks schedule. I have a feeling there won’t be any because it’s not a night that they’re doing MNSSHP. I’m keeping my fingers crossed, though!

Chocolate Shooter Station:
-White chocolate shooter with Baileys
-Milk chocolate shooter with Frangelica
-Dark chocolate shooter with Chambord liquor
-Coffees with Whipped Cream, Shaved Chocolate, Orange Peel, Cinnamon Sticks, and Flavored Coffee Syrups, and Hot Teas

Mini Dessert Station:
-Mini Tiramisu Martinis
-Mini Cannolis
-Mini Hazelnut Chocolate Cheesecakes (I’m cutting this so hopefully that will bring the price down a bit, this was the only thing at the menu tasting I didn’t like)
http://i593.photobucket.com/albums/tt13/amandaisy/TiramisuMartini.jpghttp://i593.photobucket.com/albums/tt13/amandaisy/ChocolateHazelnutCheesecakes.jpg

Edit: Right before we left, they gave us these little gifts, Grand Floridian's own salt! It came with a little jar with the salt crystals and then behind the paper it's a solid salt block. Haven't used it yet but can't yet to try it!
http://i593.photobucket.com/albums/tt13/amandaisy/gf_salt.jpg

Whew…that’s all for now! Will post more later this week...

Welcome and congrats on having so much accomplished!

MNSSHP is one of my favorite events! I think it would be so much fun for a welcome party.

I really like all of your menus too!

I have one question - don't they do the MK fireworks every night now?

Can't wait to hear more!

I just assumed that the Magic Kingdom would do fireworks every night but my planner told me that they don't always have them scheduled each night and that they don't post the schedule until about 3 months out so I still have about another month to go before I will know!

I believe it was listed at $20.50/pp...to get some other ice design like a rose or butterfly I think it was only about $13.50 but I think the Cinderella's slipper it so cute that it's worth it just for the presentation!

I was just reading your PJ! Sorry about your MGM trip :headache: I love all your pictures, though! October is such a great month...it just start to "feel" different around that time for me! Maybe it's all the Halloween decorations that makes it feel like fall! We did our planning session at the end of April and then the menu tasting last Friday. Our planner is going to be out of town most of June so I wanted to get all the big stuff done early!

I was upset about MGM, but the rest of the trip was great! I'll probably start on my tasting and planning session tomorrow in my PJ tomorrow! :thumbsup2

How cool that you live down there - I was wondering how you made two trips there until I saw that! (Sometimes I'm just out of it - ok most times! lol) And I agree with you 100% about October - definitely one of my favorite months! :goodvibes I'm excited about MNSSHP! I've never been.

I didn't take any pictures like you did of the food tasting - in retrospect I wish I had! It's so hard to describe the goodness of Disney food without pictures! Everything you had looks yum!

I can't wait to read about your planning/menu tasting! I found the planning session more stressful than fun but the menu tasting was awesome. Oh, and you will *love* MNSSHP! Have you ever been to the Food & Wine Festival at EPCOT? It's a do not miss!!! Even though I live here I haven't been to Disney in a while...we're probably gonna cash in our AP's soon we can get some more photos of us together to use at the reception!

I love your menu! Particularly the DP menu. The white chocolate amaretto shooters we had at our Sago Cay DP were a HUGE hit!

I know what you mean about hating to spend so much on floral...and some brides have made some beautiful DIY centerpieces, so it's an option. The only thing I'd caution you about is biting off more than you want. I only brought stuffed penguins to the tea party...and that ended up being another "To Do" that I hardly had time to do (and I just had to drop them off). For some reason, things get REALLY busy.

I did ship the carousel horses I had made for the tea party to Rose Dizon...so you can do something like that. Then, I had her add floral around it. They were beautiful.

Last "two cents"...if you really want the chocolate castle topper...get it! I know it's expensive, but it makes the cake beautiful. And you're spending that much for ONE guest to eat a meal. If you find a different one you like (I know Keenercam did!) then do it! But, don't settle. You'll regret it later and you won't remember what you did with the money you saved! If at all possible, get exactly what you want for the things that are important to you.

Can't wait to read more!

Here are a couple pics of our invites we painstakingly made ourselves! It took us about 6 hours straight to do all of it but I think we saved a ton of money and we were really pleased with the way they turned out! Total cost was $78 which included the pocketfold invites, two packs of cardstock, two packs of self-adhesive rhinestones, a multi-pack of cards and envelopes (which we used for the RSVP's and we're also going to use to make our thank you cards) and all the postage. The postage itself was about $30!

So our RSVP's are due back in just a couple of weeks. I'll be so happy to have a final guest count because I think it will definitely bring down the budget some! I just love checking my mailbox and seeing my little RSVP envelope in there :goodvibes

Okay, so I'm trying to decide what to do about transportation...any advice would be welcome! Here's the situation - I have a group of people staying on property at Caribbean Beach Resort and then the rest of my guests that are local will be driving in. The ceremony is at Seabreeze Point so those guests who drive in will have to park across the street in that free parking lot and walk to SBP (unless they're able to park at the Boardwalk Inn or Beach Club hotel parking lots - which I haven't found out about yet!) and then I'll have to get some sort of transportation to pick up my guests from CBR and drop them off near SBP.

Now the problem - to transport ALL my guests over to the Grand Floridian for the reception I would have to get one of the motor coaches. It would have to pick them up from SBP and take them to GF (which wouldn't take very long) but it's a 3 hr minimum so if I just kept that same motor coach to take them back I would be paying for several hours of it just sitting outside the reception/dessert party. Is it bad to have my guests who drove in, drive over to the GF after the ceremony is over? The transportation thing is a huge budget killer!:sad2:

I can't believe my wedding is in less than 3 months!! I've gotten a lot done but I still have so much more on the to-do list! We also made a few changes - we decided to move our dessert party to EPCOT so we booked the Italy Plaza West for our wedding night since we're having the whole italian/romance theme. I hate that you can't have outside photographers in the park, though. I was looking forward to having fireworks photos but I guess I'd rather just have the Epcot Dessert Party! Maybe some guests will grab some good shots! So we also booked a motorcoach to pickup people after the ceremony, transport them to Whitehall, and then to Epcot for the DP and I think the timing will work out perfectly.

Also met with Rose again today and changed the floral centerpieces and pretty much cut the budget in half! I'll post the final floral budget when I get it because she still has to add on some dessert party things. Also made some changes to the regular BEO so hopefully that will come back soon also.

Oh, and we made our ADR's! I tried to be diverse in the food selections, lol!
Wed, Oct 7th - Wedding Day!
Thursday, Oct 8th - Yak and Yeti @ 12:30pm, Spirit of Aloha Luau @ 5:15
Friday, Oct 9th - Mama Melrose @ 12:05pm, Teppan Edo @ 6:50pm
Saturday, Oct 10th - Le Cellier Steakhouse @ 11:30am, The Wave @ 6:50pm
Sunday, Oct 11th - Hopefully doing the Race for Taste 10K!

Next Tuesday the 21st we have our engagement photos scheduled with Misty Miotto and a hair/makeup trial right before with Patricia LeJune! Now I just have to find something to wear!

I hate to be a thorn in the side, but since you've changed to an Epcot DP, is it possible to move the reception to a Boardwalk ballroom? It would definitely solve all your transportation hassles...and what's really the difference between a GF ballroom and a Boardwalk ballroom?

I originally tried to book it at the Attic but they said I was inviting too many people, well now our guest count is down but it's booked now.
I like that people will be able to go outside on the patio so that's why we chose the Whitehall. Plus, I think our small group would look awkward in a ballroom.

After reading the wine box idea posted on this board a while back, we fell in love with the idea! We are going to have this out at our reception. Beforehand, we will write each other letters (to be opened at a later date - we haven't decided how many years we want to wait!) and also have our guests write us messages and put them all in the box with a bottle of wine.

Also, talked DF into letting me open an early birthday present...It's a musical snowglobe! Love it! :lovestruc

My mission today to try to get our toasting flutes engraved! I tried to get them engraved at Things Remembered a while back but they couldn't do it because apparently their machine that does engraving holds the glasses by the base and ours don't have a base! I'm hoping I'll find a place that is able to do it! Here is what they look like:

http://i593.photobucket.com/albums/tt13/amandaisy/toastingflutes.jpg

And then we replaced the heart in the middle with this charm, but ours says "Together Forever".

Dropped off our toasting flutes last week and they said they couldn't promise they would be able to engrave them but that they would try! They should be calling in the next couple days so I'm just keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for some of that pixie dust! :goodvibes

So we finally decided and ordered our favors. In keeping with our Italian Romance theme, we got these mini olive oil bottles...we ordered two different kinds, one is called Pico Olio which is garlic infused and the other is called Oreganato which is infused with oregano, bay leaf, peppercorns, and dried tomato.

We also picked up a few bags of this Mickey pasta which we are going to re-divide into smaller bags for everyone as favors.

We are now past the date where we can make changes for the wedding so we're just hoping the BEO is do-able when it comes back. We ended up making a few cost effective decisions that I think are going to help - we cut Cinderella's carriage and are having the Rolls Royce instead since we would've had to have a second mode of transportation to take us over to the Grand Floridian after the ceremony anyways. We also changed our sorbet course from Cinderella's slipper to the martini glass presentation which I think is going to bring down our meal cost per person a good amount. And we also changed the cake since originally we had the Bridge to Happiness cake which was costing us $1,200 dollars since it was about $14/pp and a minimum of 65. We only have 38 guests so we finally decided on our new cake which I love and was about half the cost! It's a cross between the Mickey Wave and the Happily Ever After cake. It will pretty much look just like the photo below except we added a little fresh floral here and there and also using the Mickey and Minnie topper instead the white chocolate ears. I've been trying to find a more unique Mickey and Minnie topper that was a little more vintage but I've been unsuccessful so I just gave in to the standard one!

I still have a very long Wedding To-do List so hopefully I will get some more things done on my day off today and be back to update later! :thumbsup2

I love the mini olive oil! It is such a good idea.

I love your cake too! We are doing the Mickey Wave as well. I think we like a lot of the same things. too funny!:lmao: I have a question on the topper though.... is Disney providing the standard Mickey and Minnie or do you need to buy it and then drop it off?

your dress is gorgeous! Hooray you're a Maggie bride too, doesn't she make the best dresses?

I love your cake idea, I never would have thought to combine the designs! I love the Happily Ever After with the Mickey wave, I may need to steal that.

Love the favors, so cute and so original. I love that it's something you can eat and you've managed to incorporate a little Disney in there too!

My wedding is too close! I'm getting worried I won't be able to get everything done! I'm just trying to take it one thing at a time! I didn't get anything crossed off my to-do list yesterday!

I work on a medsurg/oncology floor - night shift. Sometimes I like it, sometimes I don't. We are trying to close on our first house together (it's a short sale and the bank has taken 4.5 months so far), and there is talk of a new hospital being built there in the next couple of years. I would love to work in a nice, new hospital...maybe one that has a McDonalds inside!

Thanks! Disney is providing the standard topper, it's on my floral BEO ($20). I didn't have any luck finding one cheaper than that! Plus there is no worry about having to package it up and drop it off beforehand :thumbsup2

I *love* Maggie Sottero! All the dresses I originally liked were by her! I got lucky finding the one I wanted, in my size, as a floor stock! I was getting worried because I didn't have time to order one since my wedding was so close but things all worked out! :yay:

Steal away, I stole it from someone else! We wanted the Happily Ever After cake but it was a 4 tier and they said they wouldn't make it in a 3 tier for us. Finally, I found that photo and brought it to my WP. He called the bakery right there to see if they would do it and luckily they said they could with a 50 person min instead of a 65!

We sent out our newsletters last week, just to remind everyone to make their reservations and give them an idea of what's going on the day of the wedding. It took us pretty much an entire day and a couple bottles of Mt. Dew, but we did it and are really happy with the way they turned out!

I'm sure you'll get it all done one way or another... if nothing else the fear of not getting it done with motivate you:lmao: That newsletter is great... looks so professional and I love that you included so many of your engagement pics! That's super exciting that you're hopefully buying your first house... but I think I would be going batty with the bank taking so long- hopefully you are able to close soon! YAY:yay:- you're also a night shifter, I agree sometimes I like it but sometimes I don't. Half the hospital I work at is brand new and it's gorgeous, the other half is ancient (that's where the medsurg/onc is:laughing: as well as the McDonalds:lmao:)

Your newsletter looks great. I love the castle fireworks pic on top!

Hope you hear something about the house soon, I find it ironic that they call it a "short" sale but it seems to take longer than regular sales!

Before the wedding updates, a quick birthday TR - Saturday was my birthday so I had to go get my free $79 gift card so I could get some Mickey merch! Don't have photos of anything we bought yet though....So we went to MK and they are all decorated for fall! Yay!
http://i593.photobucket.com/albums/tt13/amandaisy/100_3552.jpg
We actually got to ride Haunted Mansion, Big Thunder Mountain, Winnie the Pooh, and the Carousel of Progress with NO WAITS! I couldn't believe it wasn't crowded on a Saturday! Anyways this is what we ate for lunch (Chili Cheese Fries from Pecos Bills): :littleangel:
http://i593.photobucket.com/albums/tt13/amandaisy/100_3557.jpg

I haven't been to MK in a really long time but now they have little computer stations where you put your order in and pay for it there instead of ordering in person with a CM. When we went to get our order the guy saw my birthday button and gave me a free chocolate chip cookie! :wizard:
http://i593.photobucket.com/albums/tt13/amandaisy/100_3559.jpg

Later we got a Citrus Swirl (tastes just like a creamsicle):
http://i593.photobucket.com/albums/tt13/amandaisy/100_3560.jpg

Then we rode the monorail around for a while over to the Grand Floridian and looked in the store over there that has some wedding stuff. I forgot to take pics but there wasn't anything there that I haven't seen online already. They did have really pretty small paintings of the wedding paviliion that I would totally have bought if my ceremony was there!

Got my headband I will wear on the wedding day:
http://i593.photobucket.com/albums/tt13/amandaisy/headband.jpg

No one was able to engrave my toasting flutes and since our wedding is next month I don't really want to order new ones (or pay for new ones) so I'm attempting to do get our names on there myself. This may not be the finalized version but it's all I've done so far. It's one of those letter packs that you can rub-on.
http://i593.photobucket.com/albums/tt13/amandaisy/100_3562.jpg

Also got our MNSSHP tickets and changed our resort reservations! We will now be at the Boardwalk Villas, the Beach Club, then over to the Contemporary. We've never stayed on property before so we figure might as well spread ourselves around! I got a better deal using the "Fall annual passholders discount code" than using just the discount for the wedding rate so we figured we better take advantage!

That's all for now - up next, the dreaded BEO!

love the fall decorations at MK! I've only been in the summer, but it's my goal to visit for Halloween and Christmas one day.

Hope it works out with the flutes. I think even if you can't personalize them, they will still look very nice.

cute headband!
