Really, do we have to see some commercial for some BS interview on every channel and on the cover of every magazine.
Just put on some boxing gloves and go at it and get it over already or one of you kick the other out the door.

The whole thing makes me sad. :sad1:
I understand how the situation is not a good thing, but why make it public if they are going such a bad time? How about turn off the cameras and work it out. There kids will get older and see this on TV one day.
I can't help to think this is just a scam so they can get ratings.
But then again, I am just an old grumpy man.

I can't say that I have ever watched a full episode but I was "forced" to watch some over the weekend. I just wonder if anyone thinks about what this whole thing is doing to the kids. Is anyone thinking about their well being? I'm sure the show is just about the $$$, so I say enough already!
So who wants cake..........or pie..........or some delicious combination of the two on the same plate!!!!!!!!!!!:woohoo:

Me too.
I watch the show occasionally and things have changed so much from when the show first started, it's really a shame. :sad2: What a testament to what money can do someone.

I don't think it's a money thing. Money is an excuse for being to lazy to work on your relationship.

I hope they do turn off the cameras long enough to work of their marriage. I used to watch the show, but now don't at all. It hit me on the show they went to WDW. What are those cute little kids (mostly girls) going to do when the cameras are gone? They are so used to having a camera crew follow them around, how will they take not having them there? If they can't get the attention they crave by acting or modeling, to what extent will they go to get that attention? I just feel they need to let them have a normal childhood at some point. Maybe I'm wrong about that, I mean look how well Michael Jackson turn out. :lmao:
...and I would love some cake and pie!! I'll even take a Skinny Cow Fudge Pop.

Hmmm I really like cheesecake but it is neither cheese or cake. So I will go with a really fudgy chocolate cake.

With all of the sad stories over the years with child actors and the demons they face, it makes you wonder what is in store for these kids. Man, it's a bummer.

True, but they can probably work on their relationship much better without the cameras, but aren't turning those off because of the money.

I watched the early specials on them, and considering how hard it was for them to supprt those kids back then, I can see why they want to keep the show on. Having eight kids has got to be hard on their finances.
Still, they have let the money get out of control, at least that's what it looks like. I don't want to make any judgments, because I'm sure it would be a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation (at least to them), but from the looks of it, those cameras need to go off.

I love how everyone is judging what we really don't know. This is a TV show so of course TLC is going to show the most dramatic events, and or stage the scene for drama.
Everyone is talking about the fact that they need to turn the cameras off but as an article in USA Today states they signed a contract for this seasons show and they have to complete the season. They can't turn the cameras off.
I refuse to cast an opinion because it is not my right to cast an opinion, I dont know the entire story, nor do I want to know the entire story. It's NOT my business. Sounds like both sides have issues that need to be resolved and I do feel for the kids because once again the press is taking this story and running with it..
Whatever happens I wish them well and blessings to the kids...

My DS was 5 (he is now 18) when my ex-hus. had an affair and ripped our marriage appart. We tried to keep peace but it still broke his little heart. Watching Jon & Kate + 8 last night brought me to tears because no matter how much they say they are going to do it and keep it together for the kids...they are just fooling themselves because regardless, if they split up there are going to be 8 very broken hearts. Yes, they can make sure the kids know that they are loved and none of it is their fault but it will still hurt and there will still be lots and lots of tears and pain. My heart goes out to all of them.

Seriously the only way the cameras are going to get turned off is if people stop watching the show. That isn't going to happen. I am sure that many of the people who have said turn off the cameras (not just here- these exact same conversations are all over the internet) will tune in again next week and the week after etc. TLC would cancel if viewership declined greatly but it won't because people have a wild curiousity about looking into other people's lives - which is why there are so many "reality" shows on. I have watched a few episodes I admit- but as cute as the kids are, I could never stand the interaction between the parents, they never seemed to have a healthy relationship even prior to all "this" so after those few episodes I stopped watching.

I must have missed the show yesterday. I was not a faithful watcher I just showed up for the :cake:
My wife and I watch the show on Monday. She is a BIG fan, I find it entertaining. But Mondays show was uncomfortable to watch. It's sad. If that is the way the show is going to go this year, we won't be watching.

Honestly...I think the only real reason they are still together and not divorced is because of the kids. Thats why they are trying to sneak around...They want to have the life the want...without damaging the kids hearts. I also think that they should go back to the way it used to be. Kate at home...him at work...they were much happier that way...yes she was more psychotic...but as a couple they were happier. Jon has a lot of resentment because "he's the man, and the man provides for his family" (saw an interview with him where he was away with cara and said that...)

As long as punters buy the likes of Hello and OK magazines. Watch the various chat-shows then the obsession with celebrity is not likely to wane anytime soon ;)
They are only satisfying the feeding frenzy. But I feel sorry for the kids caught up in any breakup, especially a public breakup.

I stopped watching 2 years ago, b/c I thought that they were trading their children's emotional wellbeing for money.
I figured that the sooner this show ended the better for the children.
I do not watch for that reason.
I have seen them on the magazine covers in the stores recently, so if they are in the magazine that month I will not buy it either.
Now I am aware that it will take alot more people doing this, before anything such as the show being cancelled happens.
I am glad I have not watched, just from the little I have read here.
Now could I please have some pie & cake on the same plate please!! :rotfl2:
Oh and could you make them large pieces as I just got back from my 2 week disney world vacation and lost a 1/2 pound. :yay::yay::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Here is my thoughts. I think Jon should go back to work. She can continue her book stuff. That is her job. Do like 4 specials a year, other wise turn off the cameras. I think it got way out of control when they started to except all the free trips, gifts and services, and lost touch with their families. I don't know if they could afford all the things they have if they did not do the show. I do feel bad for the kids. I came from a divorced family and believe me we know more than the parents think. They are not fooling those kids at all. I wish them luck with what ever they decide.

We know how those TV contracts work. In fact, my husband worked for TLC last year and used to do the show promo commercials for J&K+8. This show is a way of paying for the kid's future. The trips and stuff are a way for them to try to be a normal family. How many families do you know of with 2 kids that can't afford to send them to college, let alone 8? They would never be able to afford any of this on John's salary, if they didn't make the choices they made.
Plus, it's not easy to shut a TV show down, when you've signed a network contract for a season. The only way that happens is if the network shuts you down instead. You are fully obligated under threat of lawsuit to complete and fulfill your contracts. They can choose not to renew next season, but since they had already signed for the season before this happened - they were screwed, too.

I'm tired of hearing about them and all the other celebutards out there  But then I hate reality shows and find them mind numbing so of course I wish their 15 minutes was up. ;)

I'll admit that I used to really like this show and enjoy it. I didn't watch the last season and won't be watching this one becuase I don't have cable anymore.
But even when I did watch, sometimes I would just sit and think man, she is so MEAN to Jon sometimes....I wonder if they really have a happy marriage!
Guess my question has been answered.
