Hello! I have absolutely NO idea which board to post this on, or even if it is an appropriate topic for this forum, as this is more about planning, attractions, dining, etc....but here goes. We just got our DD a kitten yesterday, and I want to give it a super cute name, hopefully Disney themed. It is a girl, and I would LOVE to hear some suggestions, as I am stumped. Thanks in advance for any input! Now if I can just get her to stop carrying the thing around by its neck, we'll be all set. :rotfl:

I just got a girl puppy, and was trying to come up with cute disney names. These are the ones that crossed my mind....Alice, Belle, Lady, Cindy or Ella, Wendy (doesn't sound too much like a pet to me), Aurora sounds like a cat name to me, Duchess, Miley,Tink, Daisy, Minnie,,,,so many out there. We went with Bella,,,,I wanted Lady, oh well...Enjoy you Kitty!:thumbsup2

Crazy as it is for us, we only have one pet with a Disney name. I'm not even sure how that happened. We have a cat named Pooh Bear. I think she's the only one I didn't name myself. My family likes to bust chops about her being a girl with that name. One is named Mimsy...and I did think of Mad Madam Nimm in mind at the time. I have an Esmerelda too, which wasn't meant to be a Disney name, but I suppose it sort of is now that I think about it.

I call my stripey girls Tiger Lily sometimes. So they did end up with certain Disney nicknames.

These are my babies. There's a (mostly) perfectly reasonable explanation of how I ended up with all of them. lol

Throughout the years, I have had the following Disney pet names...

Dogs:
a female Boxer (fawn and white) named Bambi
a male mutt (looked like a small german shepard) named Kovu
a female American Eskimo (pure white) named Snow White

Cats: Tigger and Belle

My current pet (Chocolate Lab) is named Sammy because that was his name when I adopted him 8 years ago. :)

Okay, so not really a Disney pet name but my cat (all black) is named Princess Buttercup. . .kind of a joke cause we were watching princess bride the day I brought her home. . .

She is a princess though, does that count?

Our shih-tzu puppy is named Darby (from the new Winnie the Pooh). The choices were narrowed down to Belle and Darby, and the popular vote won.

We had Minnie for 18 years. I was a very firm 4 yr old when we were getting her; Minnie for a girl, Mickey for a boy.
Only downside of the name was the tendancy to use Minnie Mouser as a nickname.

I see your DD is only 1, but if she's almost 2 (or if you just haven't updated your signature recently), she might be able to name it herself? I was barely 2 when I got my first kitten, but I named her myself, and as I got older I was very proud of that--it really added to the sense that she was MY kitten. (You could probably at least give her a couple choices and have her either tell you or point to pictures ... and then *tell* her she chose the name herself! ;) )

Sorry, my DH named 1 of my cats (Sgāthach) and my ex-boyfriend named the other (Autumn), and my dog is named Scout after the character in "To Kill a Mockingbird."

My cat is Suzie after the mouse in Cinderella...we never got around to getting a Perla :rotfl:

When my cousin was about 8 years old she named my nana's cats after the Aristocats. The mother was Duchess (Mama) and she had a litter of three kittens: Marie was a tabby, Toulouse was a female with dark, smokey fur, and Berlioz looked exactly the way he does in the movie.

We got 2 all black kittens from the same litter for DS's birthday 5 years ago and he named them Buzz and Woody. Sadly, Woody only had 1 kidney and his remaining kidney just failed about a month ago and we lost him. We all miss him terribly, but Buzz is quite lonely now. My Mom found a baby kitten on her outside basement steps this past weekend and has called to see if we want it. Still debating if it might be too soon...and not sure how Buzz might react. Odds are we will take it but DS is clear that he doesn't want to replace Woody. It's a she so I'm searching for some ideas for names to consider... DH was not fond of Tinkerbell / Tink... So far I like Tiger Lily, Belle, Dory and Princess Fiona (tho that one's not Disney). Any other suggestions out there???:confused3

We picked up our new kitten this past weekend and had a whole list of names we were thinking of but we weren't quite 100% happy about any of them. She is a very pretty little gray Tabby so one of our choices was Tiger Lilly (thinking we'd probably end up calling her Lilly which was Walt's wife's name too). Then just before we went with that we came up with Cricket!!

My Mom rescued her from a creek & bathed her & fed the poor little thing. She said when she found her that she didn't even realize it was a CAT!!! The only give-a-way was the ears!!! She said she could count all of her ribs & her tail looked like it was a rat! The vet said she's 3 months now but she looked much smaller. We initially thought of Crickee (the "lucky bug" from the Mulan movie). So we figured she was lucky like a cricket...which is why we named her Cricket. We may also call her Crickee as a nickname!!! She is adorable. She starts purring when you just look at her or first pick her up! Our other cat, Buzz, has not quite found the same love yet tho! :sad2: Hoping he will warm up to her with time. LOL...we are calling him crotchety Uncle Buzz now!:rotfl:

We have two cats with Dis names - both girls, but my daughter was in love with The Little Mermaid movie when we got them - so it's Flounder (that one cracks everybody up) who absolutely won't eat fish, and Sebastian (and she's a crabby thing!).:rotfl:

I have a Monsters Inc. themed household. I have a mixed breed dog named Boo! (She used to be so scared of everything so it was quite appropriate.) I then took over care of a former stray cat from somebody whose name is Kitty (pre-named ... he ended up fitting in perfectly) and another male abandoned former stray cat I named Wizzy (for Wizowski.)

We got a dog when we first got married - since we honeymooned at Disney World we wanted a Disney name. We came up with Banjo. I don't know if it's officially Disney or not, but we had watched "Banjo, the Woodpile Cat" on the Disney channel and kinda liked the name......yes, we named our dog after a cartoon cat...:confused3

We have a Hound dog and a kitty. We got them at the Humane Society a day apart (I got the kitten and brought her home...DH looked at her and looked at me and asked if they happened to have any puppies... :lmao: So back we went the next day). Anyways, they came with names, but I didn't like how they were spelt.

Dog = Daisy (she WAS named Daesee)
Cat = Aurora (she WAS named Aurura)

So...even though they were spelt all funky...I still felt like they were RIGHT. They are two of the SWEETEST animals too. :goodvibes

I posted before that we just named our new kitten Cricket after Crickee, the lucky bug in Mulan...but we've discovered that she's eating not only her own food but our other cats food too. She is sneaking in after him and cleaning up his bowl. So we're thinking maybe we should've named her Goldilocks 'cuz she's eating everyone's porridge!:lmao:

My pug is named = Disney Magic... plus her other fru fru names on her registry. She is a true Disney Diva! princess: She is the pug on the left in my avatar.

I wanted to name my other pug Walt = Walt & Disney. I adopted him & he is my special needs pug Parker he is the pug on the right in my avatar. Renaming him Walt would of been to much for the little guy so Parker his name remained. He is Parker Love because that is what he needed the most love & a family.

I think Tinkerbelle is a cute name. She could be called Tink or Belle for short.

I named my cat Chip for two reasons. Chip and Dale are my favorites ( I always joke that Chip is my boyfriend), and when he was a kitten he had a little black nose (like chip).

I have a papillon puppy named Jasmine. She is in my avatar. That pic was taken when she was about 9 weeks old, and her ears hadn't really started to come up yet. She is a sweetie.

I also considered Minnie, Aurora (decided as much as I love Princess Aurora it was too hard to say to call her, and the same for Pocahontas), Daisy, Cinderella, Belle (thought a one-syllable name would be harder to call her to, but it was my first choice for name and my favorite princess) and more. Princess Jasmine won the battle of the names, and it fits her perfectly! She has a bit of Jasmine-like spunk!

My daughter's cat is Bagheera :)

We adopted our black and tan dachshund from the Humane Society and they had been calling her Cinder. We added Ellie at the end and now she is CinderEllie. We considered Ella, but I thought CinderEllie sounded so cute :goodvibes. She is my little princess. I just adore her.

Our other dog, Sandy, was named after Sandy Cheeks from Spongebob. I know, not Disney, but when DD was 4, she said that if she ever got her own dog, she wanted to name her Sandy from Spongebob. I'm sure now she'd choose a Disney name.

We rescued 2 kittens about a month ago and our children named them. DD chose Marie (Aristocats) for the girl kitten and DS chose Nemo for the black & white male. Poor thing I hope he never learns he was named after an orange & white clown fish LOL! Actually somehow the name seems to really work.

We are a family of Disney cats too! We started 11 years ago with Oliver, who was quick on his feet, and a con man around the dogs. Unfortunately, he had a seizure and died on my sons first day of Kindergarten....so as soon as he got on the bus the next day we went and got Mushu...who hissed at the dogs like a dragon. A few years later we added Nemo, named that because he was so small we couldn't find him half the time, and Finding Nemo had just come out. Now there is no missing the 15 lb lug.

When Mushu passed away we adopted Remi, the year of the movie, but he passed away suddenly last November. His replacement is Nigel, the pelican from Finding Nemo. We were debating between Koda and Nigel and decided Nigel needed to be with Nemo. I would love to add a third, but my husband won't let me. We kept a friends cat for 2 months this past winter and the cats name was Ramsey...I just called him Ramsey O'Malley so he would have a Disney name!:yay:

We currently have 3 cats, Rajah - a 15lb black and grey tiger, his sister the petite Mulan, a grey tiger and Figaro, or Mr. Fig, who is all black. We used to have an all black cat named Bagheera, but he lost a fight with a raccoon a few years ago. We also have a black lab mix puppy who was named Cinder at the Humane Society, but she is AKA Cinderella.

The first cat I ever owned, when I was about 4, was named Mickey.
