My friend and I went to Ohana on Sunday night and had a great meal. I'm a strict vegetarian (if it has a face, I don't eat it!) and my friend is a vegetarian but eats seafood. Our server brought out Chef TJ who asked us a bunch of questions and told us what was safe for us to eat. He then brought us out two special appetizers that I've never had before. We each had a crazy main course in addition to the meatless standards brought to the table. It was rice, tofu, stir fried veggies, crispy asparagus, etc. You should've seen the presentation of it! I have eaten at Ohana on every trip and have been vegetarian for every single one of them but have never had this treatment. Usually a vegetarian dish is brought out no problem but this time the chef actually came to the table and explained what was in everything he made us. He even brought us an extra dessert even though we could eat the usual bread pudding! I just want to let other vegetarians know not to be afraid of Ohana! Also, does anyone know where I can write to Disney to let them know how awesome Chef TJ was?

Thanks! I have been hesitant to try Ohana's b/c the vegetarian options looked slim. Now I'm leaning toward giving it a shot on our next trip!

I'm in love with chef TJ  (so is DS, DH and the rest of my family)!!! He is ABSOLUTELY the BEST!! My son has multiple food allergies, and he made him the BEST MEAL he has ever eaten in his life! You can check out my dining review on here to see pics of his 'Ohana Dinner (it's the Gluten Freedom review). I emailed Brenda Bennett at special diets to thank her for our trip, and I wrote an entire paragraph about chef TJ in the email. I also attached a pic of my son and chef TJ. I asked her to forward the email to him, but I'm not sure if she even got the email, b/c I got an "out of office" reply from her as soon as I sent it. I think I may try to send it again. If you do get info on how to send him a thank you, I'd love to have it also. He really is INCREDIBLE!! --Katie

There's an email for WDW guest relations that you should email and compliment TJ. I have to look for the email and I'll post it. I write after every trip about any amazing CMs and they are defintiely told about it and the comment is put on their file.

Chef TJ is the best! I remember him from his Boma days and booked O'hana this time in hopes that he will be there the night we go! I'm vegan and he makes the best to die for desserts for me!!

Chef TJ is the best at Disney - this is for sure. I loved him at AK's Boma!

That sounds great! I'm a vegetarian but DBF eats meat- I've always liked the sound of O'hana but didn't think it would be a good idea due to my diet. Now I've read your review AlohaPolynesian, I may well add it to the list of ADRs I'm due to book this Saturday (I have one spare spot that I just can't decide on!!).
When I make my ADRs, am I right in thinking I have to mention that I'm a vegetarian so it will be noted on all my reservations? Do I have to tell our server when we arrive at the restaurant too? Thanks!
