What an excellent morning at DHS! The girls did great on their drawings of Tink. :thumbsup2
I'm looking forward to your review of Wolfgang Puck, I have only ever read a couple of them from the TS...I'm hoping it's as good as the CS!

We've missed you Alan. Hope you and the family had a great Thanksgiving. Lots has been going on in our house (son's car totaled, my DH has to have 7 shots on Friday for a protruding disc (it's in my thread "What Would You Do" on the resort page).
We did have a great Thanksgiving....I've just never been busier in my life. I think I was a little naive to think that the hot dog restaurant would not occupy ALL of my time. Sorry to hear about your son's car and hubby's back situation. (I struggle with back issues myself.) Hope you all have a wonderful holiday season!
So funny- After Cammie & Kara left, Lonnie and I went into the Animation stuff because of Cammie's TR!! She's very persuasive!!
So sad this is coming to the end- glad you are all doing well (although busy) and happy you had a nice Thanksgiving!
Yeah, Cammie's trip reports definitely have had an effect on our plans! The girls really enjoyed the animation attraction, and it provided a nice break from the hot day.
Hope all is well with you, Pods, and the boys! Have a wonderful holiday season!
Glad to see you back !!! I went to Animation once but didn't get o do the sketches ! My Boss is taking her son this summer for his graduation gift and he want to be an animator soooo sheis very interested in this attrction!! Plus I told her about the lunch with the animator !!!
Hi Rosie! Definitely a neat attraction that your boss' son will enjoy. Hope all is well with you!
Hi Alan!

Hello Luis! Hope all is well with you and your family. Will Santa be visiting Valeria this year?
Yeah, that was a big hug for Mickey, wasn't it? Last two chapters are coming up.

Hey IUM! Best wishes for a wonderful holiday season. Last couple of chapters of my report are on the way.

Hi Brook! I thought their Tink drawings were really good. I was proud of both of them. I think this attraction has really sparked the artist in Juliana....she has been drawing lots of pictures lately, and she's quite talented!
Wolfgang Puck review coming up next. Hope all is well with you and your family!

After a wonderful morning at DHS, we were ready for our last dining reservation of our trip: lunch at Wolfgang Puck's at Downtown Disney.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/WDW09/08-064.jpg
Wil got the Artichoke & 5-Cheese Dip. It was very good also.
http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/WDW09/08-065.jpg
For my entree, I had the sushi platter. OMG!!! It was fresh and delicious.

Two happy campers!
http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/WDW09/08-073.jpg
For dessert, I had one of my all-time favorites: Key Lime Pie. It was delicious and well presented.
http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/WDW09/08-074.jpg
Elizabeth had the cheesecake. It was good, but not as good as the Key Lime Pie.
http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/WDW09/08-076.jpg
The kids both had the Make-Your-Own sundaes.

We were VERY happy with our lunch at Wolfgang Puck's. I thought it was a really good use of 1 Table Service credit on the Deluxe Dining Plan. We made a comment that this might be a good first meal the next time we come to Disney World. (Although I still want to try the Earl of Sandwich at some point!) My sushi was absolutely terrific. Our service was really good also....of course we were there for a late lunch at we practically had the dining room to ourselves.
Coming up - Goofy's Candy Company, and time to say goodbye to Walt Disney World!

Hi Alan,
Santa for sure is making a visit to Valeria!! She already knew what she wanted on her letter at least a month ago. BTW, She asked me if Truman got his chritsmas stockings on the chimney this year, too.
The one who gets a good deal is Mercedes, as her birthday falls on Dec. 25th. For years I have been trying to convince her to treat it as a single occasion, but she is unrelenting, so I get hit with a double whammy every year :-)
Merry Christmas to you and yours, and a Happy and wonderful New Year! (and, thinking it better, a less hectic one... :) )
All the best,
Luis

Glad you're back Alan! Not a fan of sushi but the desserts look divine! Key Lime pie is one of my favorites too!
You will not be disappointed by Earl of Sandwich either. Great place to eat.

Sounds like a wonderful Christmas! We had a nice Christmas as well. We closed the restaurant for four days and just spent some time together. Tell Valeria that Santa brought Truman some goodies in his stocking as well! He was just as excited as Wil and Juliana!
Hope all is well with you and your family. Last chapter coming up.

We were VERY pleasantly surprised by WP, especially after some of the reviews we had read. I probably wouldn't go for dinner, but it was an awesome lunch!

I love love love Key Lime Pie, but I rarely have the opportunity to eat it. It was a nice treat!

Hi Rosie! No plans anytime soon. Elizabeth wants to go for her 40th birthday, which is in 2012. We would all like to go before then, but life is totally getting in the way right now.
That all looked delicious, Alan! I have only eaten on the express side- I'll have to give it a shot with Pods in September!

Miss "seeing" you too, bud! Can't wait to read your trip report with Pods in September! Tell him and all the boys the Renfroe's say hello.

Ahhh....thanks! Miss all of you too. Guess I was naive to think that owning a restaurant would be a part-time gig!

After an awesome lunch at Wolfgang Puck, we decided to make a run for it through the pouring rain to Goofy's Candy Company. Since we were on the Deluxe Dining Plan, we had like a gajillion snack credits left! (Seriously, I think it was around 38 credits.) SO....it was time to pick up goodies as souvenirs for the peeps back home!
http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/WDW09/08-078.jpg

After dragging bags and bags full of goodies back to our vehicle, we were all pretty tired....and came to the conclusion that it was time for our wonderful trip to end. We still had dinner reservations at Kona for that evening. However, we had made an appointment with a man in Swainsboro, Georgia for the next morning to look at a hot dog roller (this is when we were still trying to decide if we were going to open a restaurant or not.) SO....if we went ahead and left, we could get to Swainsboro before bedtime. I hated to leave without having that last meal at Kona, but we had endured a very long, wet week and the rain was finally starting to get to us.
Reluctantly, we drove North...

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/WDW09/08-083.jpg
We ended up staying at a hotel in Statesboro, not far from our destination.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/WDW09/08-085.jpg
The next day, we got up early and met with the man who had the hot dog roller for sale. He gave us a really, really good deal on it and it works great! (We use this piece of machinery EVERY day!)
http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/WDW09/08-088.jpg
http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/WDW09/08-089.jpg
On our way home we stopped just outside of Atlanta at Zaxby's for lunch.
http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/WDW09/08-090.jpg
and by 3pm, we were safely back home.....already missing Disney World!

Thanks to ALL of you who have shared our trip report with us! It was a wonderful trip and we've had a great time putting this trip report together. Sorry it has taken so long, but in the months that followed this trip, our lives have gotten extremely busy. We opened our own hot dog restaurant officially in July, called B.F. Dawgs, and I continue to work my "real" job as well. Elizabeth and I are "homesick" to go back to Disney World, but it will probably be quite some time before our next trip.
Thanks to all of the wonderful friends we have made through the DISboards! Many of you are our friends on Facebook, and I hope you will stay in touch. I promise to check in on the disboards from time to time, and I may even start a pre-trip report once another date has been decided upon.
Happy New Year to all of you, and may God Bless!

Alan, I've thoroughly enjoyed both your trip reports--sorry to see this one come to an end. I hope you and your family are able to get to Disney sooner than you expect and wish you continued success with your restaurant. A trip for your wife's 40th sounds like a perfect excuse--but a little too far off (IMO :)). Please post a link to your next pre-trippie, whenever that may be, on this thread. I don't want to lose track of the super Renfroes reports!

Best of luck to you and your family!:thumbsup2
Great report Alan. We were also tired of the rain during that week. We left on Sat to sunny skies and became very upset. It was at that point I looked to my DH and told him we have to go back next year. We are now in the process of planning a short trip in Nov for food and wine but without the kids. Hope to see another PTR soon from Team Renfoe
