Me too...I can't wait to hear about the MMM! popcorn::

Here's a little spoiler - it was AWESOME!

So glad to see a new update Alan! I've been looking forward to hearing about your meet. Pretty impressive that you were not in a hurry and still got to the park at 9:15.

The meet was so much fun. Several folks are planning to make this an annual event.

Uh, did I miss breakfast? Where'd we eat? Also, where are we having lunch and dinner today? I lost my itinerary Alan...:goodvibes. I can't wait to read about the meet.

No breakfast on this morning. We had an early ADR at Le Cellier at 11:35, so we skipped breakfast. But don't worry - we had some KILLER breakfasts in the days to come!

cool shirts! I can't wait to make my shirts for this years trip..cheesy but magnificent!

:rotfl2: Yes indeed! Cheesy but magnificent! That's exactly what we were going for! Just wish you could have been there with us, IUM!

Okay Alan, I see the preludeto the Meet has begun!!! Where have I seen those T shirts before !!!!???:rotfl2:

Yes, Rosie, it has begun! I've got a TON of pictures from the meet....and all of us wearing those lime-green t-shirts!

So our last chapter left off with the entire family getting ready to ride Test Track. Elizabeth and the kids had already riden once, while I was getting our FastPasses for Soarin'. Now it was time for all of us to ride Test Track together:

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-020.jpg

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-021B.jpg

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-021C.jpg

Then it was on to Mission Space. Juliana did not ride this ride on our last trip, but this time we talked her into riding the not-so-intense version of the ride.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-022.jpg

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-023.jpg

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-024.jpg

We ALL enjoyed Mission Space very much. In fact, we all decided to ride it a second time. This time, the boys rode the more intense version, while Elizabeth and Juliana rode the less intense version.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-025.jpg

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-026.jpg

After Mission Space, it was really getting hot. We decided to cool off with a stop at one of our favorite attractions at Epcot: Club Cool!

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-027.jpg

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-028.jpg

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-029.jpg

By this time, it was time to head on over to The Land pavilion to ride Soarin'.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-030.jpg

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-033.jpg

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-042.jpg

Soarin' was AWESOME!!! It is my favorite ride at Epcot, but the rest of the family prefers Test Track.

Anyway, after Soarin', it was getting close to time for our lunch reservations at Le Cellier. On the way into the World Showcase, we took a few pictures and got some information about the Kim Possible experience.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-043.jpg

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-049.jpg

Coming up next, lunch at Le Cellier. Later - the Mammoth May Meet and the Kim Possible Experience.

Hahaha....I get a lot of comments about the Boston cap. Here's the thing: it was $5!!! I just bought a cap that looked decent on my head. I have never been a cap guy....caps just don't look good on me....so when I finally found a cheap cap that didn't look dorky on me, I bought it! The truth is that I couldn't tell you a single player on the BoSox team right now. I do love the city of Boston though.

Anxiously waiting for the Le Cellier review although, I can't get ANY reservations for dinner at Epcot on 09/28 for our upcoming trip :sad2: Hope lot's of people have just doubled up ressies and will be cancelling before too long.

Love all kinds of rides myself but Mission Space did me and my DH in for several hours the one and only time we rode it. Only thing that helped was ice cream. :rotfl: If you've ever been to Vegas, did the Big Shot on top of the Stratosphere in the daytime and at night. I read your update yesterday, but am finally on long enough to comment! :goodvibes Real life getting in the way of DIS here! ;)

Anyway-great update! The t-shirts look REALLY great! Did your family think you were slightly crazy for meeting that many people from an online community? DH thought I was a tad nutsy at first, but now he's all about the DIS meets! :thumbsup2

I love Soarin' and Test Track-I can't wait to take Henry on Test Track when he gets bigger! He'll flip! Where is the picture taken on that ride? Is it in the "heat"?

Mission Space though  Ugh...cannot do it. DH thought the intense side was nothing. He said the one at Kennedy Space Center was amazing though. I am sure I would have been beside myself!

I hear ya! You don't have to justify anything to me! :rotfl2: :rotfl: Besides, Henry's not getting any younger, right?

YES, exactly! When people say "Again????" we always tell them all our reasons and follow it up with a "And Henry is still free!". We usually get a "Oooooh, good idea then!" back!

I think it is cool that you can get the Test Track pictures scanned on your PhotoPass card. I wish you could do ALL rides like that....it would REALLY make PhotoPass worth more.

Oh, and worry not about the limited lunch menu. The best items are on there!

great start for a day at Epcot! I love the pictures of Epcot during the flower festival, it's so pretty! And Juliana and Stitch looked great together: lime green and blue :thumbsup2

We love the flower & garden festival. It makes for some great pictures! Good call about Juliana's lime green shirt and Stitch's blue!

Yeah, Elizabeth and I are cool like dat!

You've been in Epcot for just a short while and have already done our favorites. I always love it when we get to see/ride attractions first thing in the morning and with little or no wait!

We are big believer in getting to the parks early and riding things before the crowds get out of control. As you will read later in the day, this is the ONLY day that we didn't have a mid-day break...and I definitely paid the price.

I love your trip report!!! You are inspring me to write a trip report when I go in September! :yay:

Absolutely! You should DEFINITELY write one! They are a lot of fun, and it is a great way for you to chronicle the details about your trip.

I can't believe we didn't see you guys early that day! I think maybe were we 5 minutes behind you doing the run for Soarin' and the riding test track etc.

That's too funny! All day long I kept looking around the park to see if I could find others with those lime green shirts on. We saw our first one around 1pm and it was Angela.

You all got a lot done before lunch. I love Soarin', but I haven't ridden Test Track in years. I will definitely have to do that next time. I love that final picture you posted.

Test Track is really awesome! My kids love getting the speed without the height of a roller coaster.

Oh, I really like that last picture also. That is such a picturesque area....especially during the Flower & Garden Festival.

I forgot when I posted earlier to mention that I know I'm in the minority here but I LOVE Mission Space (intense version)......:hyper:

YAY! You rock, Kathy! Nothing like having your face blown into the back of your skull!! Woohoo!

Epcot is my favorite park! I haven't ridden Mission Space yet, but we are not doing the intense version. Some of us are prone to motion sickness, and since I am not in my much younger days, I don't recover nearly as fast. I am glad that you enjoyed it.

If you are prone to motion sickness, Mission Space can be a little rough. Also, I don't usually like tight spaces....but Mission Space didn't bother me at all. I would definitely recommend doing the less intense version first.

nope, our whole family loves it to pieces!

Yay!! Another MS junkie!

Boy, you do get allot done! I need to keep notes on how to tackle the parks. I have to admit, I've never done MS. I think I'll have to try the tame version. Can't wait for more!!

I think for anyone who hasn't experienced Mission Space, I would definitely recommend doing the less intense version first. The only real difference is the liftoff. On the intense version, the liftoff is simulated by spinning around. (You don't realize you are spinning....it feels as if you are lifting off.) At any rate, that is a pretty intense feeling.

If you notice, the ones who get a lot done hit the parks early with a plan to knock out the really big rides and then the rest is pure gravy. That's how they end up getting to spend time in the afternoon when it is so hot at the resort pools!

AMEN!!! That's our philosophy for sure. We can sleep in on our beach trips....but not at Disney!

You are not alone. It's the intense version all the way for us!

Woohoo! Hold on to your face and let's ride!

I am a self acclaimed Chicken and have No intention of trying either version !! At DHS my thrill ride is The Great Movie Ride !!!:rotfl2:

Hahahaha.....nothing wrong with being a chicken, Rosie. The first time I did Mission Space, I was really nervous that I would be sick. Afterwards, I was ready to ride again!

Hi Alan, thanks again for bringing us all along. Fantastic pictures.

But could not handle MS.

Thanks M & E! Sorry that you're having such a tough time with Le Cellier ressies. Our review is coming up.

Wow...you did the Big Shot on top of the Stratosphere, but Mission Space made you sick? I can understand - the Big Shot is a different kind of feeling. That spinning action on Mission Space and really make some people very queezy.

:surfweb: Waiting for an update !!!:lmao:

Update on the way - I can't disappoint you, Rosie!

Oh Rosie, I love that ride too! Do you sing the off to see the wizard song? I am probably such a nuisance to everyone around me! I know all the movies in the preview too! I grew up in Southern California and movies (especially old ones) were my getaway from reality (we didn't have a phone - too poor but we had a small tv we bough at a swap meet!)! There was a channel (maybe channel 7?) that had a movie a week and they played it over and over so if you missed it you could catch it again and again! I loved those old things!

We have to do the Great Movie Ride. It is a must do at Hollywood Studios.

Love the shirts and we always do a silly pose for the TT photo too :thumbsup2

Cool! If you know you're going to be photographed, why not pose for it, right?

Me TOO!!!! When I rode it the first time I rode twice in a row, I loved it so much!! I think it's incredible, it really does feel like you're in space! But I think TT wins for my favorite Epcot ride, because EVERYONE in my family will ride it and loves it, including Sean.:grouphug:

We're almost to the MMM on our thread, too! Hey- how's the hot dog business??? :)

I agree, Ellen. I was skeptical about a ride that would simulate space travel, but I think Mission Space is totally realistic....especially the liftoff part. That lift off on the more intense version is definitely intense. I'm glad to hear that Sean rides it with no problems. I'll bet he loved it!

MMM is on the way. Oh, and the hot dog biz is coming along nicely. We should be open in about 2.5 weeks now. I am going to post some hot dog pictures.

I think Alan is busy wit Hot Dogs !!

Guilty as charged! As a reward for waiting on me, I'm going to post some hot dog pictures we've been working on for my upcoming web site.

Yeah, Alan, how is your work going to getting the hot dog business set up? We had hot dogs for dinner as a matter of fact! My favorite meal even if it isn't WW:lmao:
Can't wait for the rest of your report and more pics.

Mission Space though  Ugh...cannot do it. DH thought the intense side was nothing. He said the one at Kennedy Space Center was amazing though. I am sure I would have been beside myself!

YES, exactly! When people say "Again????" we always tell them all our reasons and follow it up with a "And Henry is still free!". We usually get a "Oooooh, good idea then!" back!

Yeah, real life is totally getting in the way of my DIS time! Especially with trying to work a full-time job and open a restaurant on the side!

Of course everyone thought we were crazy to want to meet strangers at Disney World....but if you get to know people on the DISboards, you kinda get a pretty good feel for who they are. The MMM was a BLAST!!! We met some great new friends!

I think the Test Track picture is made right before the car goes outside the building, if I remember correctly.

I am glad you all are getting to go back and get your money's worth out of those Annual Passes! Good for you!

After a productive morning of Juliana meeting Stitch, riding Test Track twice (except for me), Mission Space, and Soarin', it was now getting close to our lunch reservation at Le Cellier in the Canada Pavilion.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-051.jpg

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-052.jpg

Our lunch reservations were for 11:35am. We arrived at about 11:25am and didn't realize that they didn't open until 11:30am.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-053.jpg

Once the restaurant opened, all of the servers come out to the front area and sing "O Canada!" It was a pretty cool experience, and I thought it really added to the experience.

Le Cellier is small, dark, and cool....a great escape from such a LARGE theme park!

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-054.jpg

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-055.jpg

Our server's name was Chelsey. Honest to God, she looked JUST LIKE Chelsey Clinton!!! So it was EASY for me to remember her name! She was from Saskatchiwan (sp?), and she was an outstanding server - very friendly and attentative.

We browsed the menus:

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-056.jpg

Chelsey brought us a bread basket. We LOVE the pretzel bread!

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-057.jpg

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-058.jpg

Since Le Cellier is the only place that I know of inside the U.S. to get a Moosehead on draft, I decided to treat myself to one:

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-059.jpg

I realized afterwards that I probably should have just stayed with water. It was really starting to get hot outside and I could have used the hydration. That being said, the Moosehead was wonderful!

Since I have a lot of pictures from our meal, I will post our Le Cellier review in the next chapter.

the hot dogs look great!!! I like to have the chili/cheese and the Boston:thumbsup2

The Boston actually surprised me. When we were doing research on different hot dogs in different parts of the country, I was not particularly fond of the idea of the Boston having Baked Beans on it - but now that I've eaten several, I really LOVE it! Next to the Chicago, the Boston is probably my favorite city dawg.

OMG.. I am DYING for a chili cheese dog now!

GOOD!!! Maybe that'll entice you guys to swing through Alabama on your way to Florida! We've got a chili cheese with YOUR name on it!

How far from Atlanta are you? We might just have to take a trip to eat some hotdogs.

Not too far at all! In fact, we were in Douglasville today - about an hour and a half.

Jeanine

Hi Jeanine! Thanks for the comments on the hot dawg pics. We are very excited about our upcoming adventures!

Sorry you won't be able to do Le Cellier. I've said it before and I'll say it again: for 1TS credit, it may be the best meal plan value in all of Disney World! Let us know how the Quick Service plan turns out for you!

Alan, The hot dogs look great! Your photos are wonderful. It's obvious that you are both putting a great effort into your new business venture. Wish we weren't so far away--I'd love to try one of your hot dogs!

Yes, we are definitely putting a great deal of effort into the new business venture. We want to bring ALL of our skills onto the table....and if there is one thing I CAN do, it is make pictures of food!! :rotfl2: But seriously, thanks a lot. We are very hopeful for future success in the hot dog business!

after seeing all those yummy hot dogs, I think we should all get in our cars and drive to seer new endeavor Alan (all of us within driving distance anyway)!:lmao:

Yep, sounds like a plan CK! We should be open for business in about 3 weeks or so now!

Hopefully the Chick Fil A was good. My cousin owns that one in Tifton!

No kidding! It was actually VERY good. In fact, it was very crowded when we were there. There was a children's party going on, and quite a good crowd. It would appear that your cousin is doing a great job with his staff and his product! We give it a thumbs up!

Oh, I have to comment on the hot dogs. My DD (12) is the world's biggest hot dog lover and her dream would be to open a hot dog restaurant! I think yours will do a lot better than hers would - she doesn't believe a hot dog should be served with anything other than ketchup - anything else would just "ruin" it.:rotfl: I loved that you named on after my city - Boston!

Hahahaha.....tell your DD that she may know more about the hot dog business than we do! We are excited and cautiously optimistic about this new business. I think it would be WAY COOL to make a living selling hot dogs!

Okay, WHERE is the Jersey/Coney Island dirty water dog? Jersey dogs with home fries or cheez whiz like at the windmill at the board walk!!!!! Can ya tell that I LOVE my dogs?? Can't wait for the Le Cellier review. :cool1:

Oh, we've got you covered! In fact, our "City" dogs are the Sabrett dogs that are sold on the carts in NYC. They are the same ones that are served at Gray's Papaya. Yeah, baby! We've got your home fries - we've got your cheez whiz! No stone has been left unturned!

The hots dogs looked great next time were are visiting in Oxford, we will have to try a hot dog for lunch once your business gets going.

Oh, you should definitely make a hot dog run to J'ville! We should be open in about 3 weeks. I can hardly wait!

Everyone says that dinner reservations at Le Cellier are very, very difficult! I can see why - for all the people who are on the Dining Plan, this is THE BEST use of 1 table service in ALL of Disney World, in my opinion.

Alan - when we ate at LC with the DISmoms, I'm pretty sure our server said that it is the ONLY place outside of Canada that serves Moosehead on draft!!!

And I'm seriously jonesing for a deep south dog right now!!!!! Those pics look awesome!!!

Thanks VERY much, DisneyJo! Yeah, our variety is a little different....our hope is that people will gravitate towards their favorite hot dogs and have them made just the way they did as a child!

How would you compare the intense MS version to Tower of Terror? I have never been on MS because I always sat it out with our youngest. When we go in December, I want to ride it this time. The little guy is 5 and tall enough. He rode ToT last time we were there and loved it. I love big thrill rides and have no problem on them. Hmmmm.....it would not be an "apples to apples" comparison. To me, the Tower of Terror is one of the best rides in all of Disney World. Mission Space isn't as cool, but it's still a lot of fun!

For the most part, I would have to agree. I think if your DS shows an interest in riding Mission Space, he should definitely go for it!

Last year was our first visit to Le Cellier, and we overwhelmingly decided to return for lunch again this year. That Canadian Cheese soup is just incredible!

For an appetizer, I, of course, had the Canadian Cheese Soup:

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-064.jpg

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-065.jpg

Again, I cannot say enough great things about THIS appetizer!!! SO GOOD!!!! I sometimes wake up in the middle of the night CRAVING this soup! Great stuff!

Elizabeth ordered the Spicy Chicken and Chipotle Sausage as her appetizer. Just like last year, it was OUTSTANDING!!!

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-060.jpg

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-061.jpg

Wil ordered the Seafood Salad. It was....uh....not very good. I've got to say......it was not very good AT ALL!!! I tried to help him eat it....but it just wasn't very appetizing. My advice: stick with the Cheddar Cheese Soup or the Chipotle Chicken Sausage....those are both GREAT!

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-062.jpg

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-063.jpg

Juliana had the Cheddar Cheese Soup as well. Good choice!

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-067.jpg

We were ALL excited about being back at Le Cellier again this year!

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-069.jpg

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-071.jpg

For our entrees, Elizabeth and I both had the Mushroom Filet Mignon. It was absolutely outstanding!!!

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-074.jpg

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-075.jpg

Wil had a Bacon Cheeseburger, which he enjoyed very much!

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-073.jpg

Juliana got the Cheese Pizza:

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-076.jpg

For dessert, both Wil and Juliana both decided they wanted the "chocolate mouse." They loved their moose!

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-077.jpg

Elizabeth ordered the Whiskey Chocolate Cake, which is what she ordered last year. She LOVED it!

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-078.jpg

Me, not being a big dessert person, and not being hungry from our HUGE lunch, knew better than to just order dessert! I skipped mine completely!

Overall, Le Cellier certainly did not disappoint. We had an outstanding server, and we all enjoyed the cool cellar to have lunch in. I would definitely recommed Le Cellier to any one. It was so comfortable, cool, and cozie, I could have just taken a nap right there in the dining room! Chelsey was an outstanding server and the filet was really wonderful. I would definitely give Le Cellier 2 thumbs up!

Oh, I am even more hungry now. :lmao: That seafood salad doesn't look very good, I couldn't even really tell what it was. I have to say Le Cellier is one of my favorite places to eat at Disney. I think it's second after Hollywood Brown Derby. :thumbsup2

Oh and glad the plans for your new restaurant are going well. I'm not a hot dog eater but all those pictures and different varieties of hot dogs look cool. Yummm!! Looks so good!!! I was looking at the menu a couple of days ago and was having a lot of trouble trying to decide on an appetizer batween the soup and the chicken/sausage. Since I'll be there during food and wine I don't know if I'll be hungry enough for either one though...lol

What really sounds good, is one of your hot dogs, yummmm.

GOOD!!! Maybe that'll entice you guys to swing through Alabama on your way to Florida! We've got a chili cheese with YOUR name on it!

Not too far at all! In fact, we were in Douglasville today - about an hour and a half.

Yep, sounds like a plan CK! We should be open for business in about 3 weeks or so now!

No kidding! It was actually VERY good. In fact, it was very crowded when we were there. There was a children's party going on, and quite a good crowd. It would appear that your cousin is doing a great job with his staff and his product! We give it a thumbs up!

Hahahaha.....tell your DD that she may know more about the hot dog business than we do! We are excited and cautiously optimistic about this new business. I think it would be WAY COOL to make a living selling hot dogs!

Oh, you should definitely make a hot dog run to J'ville! We should be open in about 3 weeks. I can hardly wait!

So glad that you are so within 2 hours driving distance. If you could, please post your restaurant address so I can mapquest it. Or if you would rather PM that info, that would be great. Can't wait to try it out.

I'd never thought of the CSR-but it looks very pretty in your photos...love the look of the rooms and the pool...

Fantastic review of the Flying Fish-I was only there once but I loved it :thumbsup2-we aren't going there this time :confused3 but are going to Jiko :goodvibes...Haven't made it to Le Cellier-but I guess there is always a future trip...

Hey, Magic Shell, where do you live in North MS if you don't mind my asking? My son lives in Indianola (and has my two granddaughters hostage!) and works for Mississippi State. He travels all over the state with his job.

I live in Independence. I am sure you have not heard of that, but it is about 15 miles south of Olive Branch, if you have heard of that. My mom would like the way you describe your granddaughters being held hostage.:rotfl: My parents live in Louisiana so they probably think the same way.

I'll come out of lurkdom too, and tell you how much I enjoy your trip reports. Quick question - what is served with the chicken chipotle sausage? It looks like greens of some kind underneath. Is there sauce or something?

YAY!!! I LOVE it when people come out of lurkdom! Welcome to this happy place! The Chicken Chipotle sausage is actually served over polenta, which is fantastic. The spicyness of the chicken is offset by the polenta, making a very appetizing dish. LOVE it!

Yummm!! Looks so good!!! I was looking at the menu a couple of days ago and was having a lot of trouble trying to decide on an appetizer batween the soup and the chicken/sausage. Since I'll be there during food and wine I don't know if I'll be hungry enough for either one though...lol

Oh, that's a tough one. The soup is one of my favorites EVER, but the chicken sausage is really great also. I know it doesn't help you much, but I got the soup last year and ordered it again this year. Of course, Elizabeth ordered the chicken sausage last year and ordered it again this year! We loved Flying Fish so much that it is now on our "must do" list. Le Cellier is also a great value if you are on the Dining Plan....it is like getting a 2TS meal for the price of 1TS credit.

And yes, Alan, let's hear bout the DISmeet!!!!

Yep, best show ever....hands down.

Oh, and the meet is coming...just you wait! We've got 1.5 trillion pictures of this motley crew!

Love the food reports. Le Cellier is on our list for next trip. Has is not rained yet? I was just thinking what a laid back guy. He has not complained about the rain once. Maybe it hasn't started yet:confused3

Can you believe it? The weather man had been saying it was going to rain every single day....but as of yet, it had not rained a drop. In fact, the hot was dreadfully and painfully hot on this particular afternoon. No rain....yet.

Le Cellier is the meal that DH is looking forward to the most this trip. The more I read about it, I am getting excited myself! Would you say the soup is a must? I was considering salad, but it looks pretty good...just really filling!

Your DH will NOT be disappointed if he is a steak lover. I could just sit back and eat the pretzel bread and drink Moosehead all day! And yes.....let me Scream it.....THE SOUP IS A MUST!!! SOOO GOOD!!! I love salad, but I figured I could eat a salad anytime....but this soup is too die for. In fact, I would go so far as to say that if I had to chose a proverbial "last meal," it would probably be BBQ ribs or THIS SOUP!

Yummmmm LeCellier!!!!!!! I was one of the very few people that did not like the Cheese Soup, but I pretty much expected that because I'm not a big cheese fan, I only like it paired with certain foods-like a chili cheese dog. ;) BUT, Joe and Henry (who I will say are more normal than myself!) LOVED it. And we all mowed on that delish bread! The chicken chipotle looks really good, I'll have to remember that if we ever get back to LeCellier.

I didn't think I would be a big fan of the soup either, but I just wanted to lick the bowl clean. Juliana didn't eat all of hers, so I gladly finished her bowl for her!

You should definitely try that chicken chipotle sausage if you like spicy foods. It is delish!

Another great update! Le Cellier looks wonderful. I want to try it for lunch, since I've already done dinner. Also, those hot dogs look great. To bad I live to far away! Poor Wil....he really couldn't find anything he liked. He's not much of a steak eater, and so he really didn't enjoy his meal at Le Cellier very much.

Hi Alan,

I'm enjoying your trip report! We can't wait for our trip in October! Just wanted to mention that you should consider adding a "Pittsburgh Dawg" (french fries and cole slaw for toppings) to your menu. Those hot dogs look fantastic. Good luck with the restaurant!

Thanks very much! Oh, that Pittsburgh Dawg sounds AWESOME! We've got all the ingredients anyway, right? We are going to be doing a "Dawg of the Month", and I think that just might be our choice for September's dawg! (For August, we are trying a "Reuben Dawg" - all-beef dawg with provolone cheese, sauerkraut, and thousand island dressing.)

omg.. thank you for the pics of the soup! not at all what I thought it looked like.. looks much more appetizing than I had pictured in my head!

We last left off with our delicious lunch at Le Cellier. It had already started getting really hot before lunch, but now it was really, REALLY hot! I probably should have had some water with my lunch instead of beer, because I was starting to feel a little dehydrated. Anyway, it was time to press on. A photographer took this less-than-great picture of us on the way out:

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-079B.jpg

It was about 1pm and our Mammoth May Meet was scheduled for 3pm....so we had a couple of hours to spend in the World Showcase. We had been reading about the Kim Possible Mission on the DIS and both of our kids really wanted to try it.

It was a blast!! Juliana LOVED getting control of the cell phone.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-080.jpg

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-081.jpg

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-083.jpg

The Kim Possible Mission took us on several journeys to see things that we would have otherwised overlooked. Activating certain things at certain times was a thrill for Juliana! It was neat to see the reactions of finding the next clue!

Even though the kids loved it, it was so, so, so, so hot that nothing was very enjoyable except for air conditioning. I spent as much time in the shops as possible just trying to stay cool.

While working on the Kim Possible Mission within the U.K., we met our first DISer!!! Angela!!! aka APB513!!! She was super nice and saw the four of us in those hard-to-miss lime green shirts! We talked to her a bit and told her we looked forward to talking with her and everyone else more at the meet.

After completing the Kim Possible mission, we decided to walk towards France. As we were leaving the U.K., we saw these ladies:

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-085.jpg

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-088.jpg

We walked through France and towards Japan.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-090.jpg

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-091.jpg

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-092.jpg

For me, the heat was beginning to be unbearable. I think I was seriously dehydrated, and I had to sit down for a bit. I used a couple of my snack credits to get water. After cooling off a bit, I started feeling a little better and we went to watch the candy-making lady in Japan.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-093.jpg

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-096.jpg

This lady is amazing! It is almost trance-like the way she twists, pulls, and paints the candy while narrating what she is doing like her grandfather taught her. Very interesting to watch.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-097.jpg

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-099.jpg

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-100.jpg

As we were watching the lady make candy, someone tapped me on the shoulder. I turned around and saw some familiar DISboard faces....it was Cammie, Ellen, Kara, and Lonnie....the DIS MOMS! It was really funny because it was like we were not strangers AT ALL....almost as if we had known each other for years.

Pictures of this impromptu meeting, and the MAMMOTH MAY MEET up next!

The candy lady is one thing we have never stopped to check out...didn't realize they were so detailed! We will have to try to see that when we go in Dec! We are also going to do that KP thing for sure...even though I think I'm the most excited about it! LOL And, after your firm approval of the soup at Le Cellier, I will have to get it!! (That is, if we can get the ressies for there)

The Kim Possible games sound really fun and unique, I think we are going to try this (or at least hope to!) in September. I hope to catch the Candy Lady's whole show, I've only ever caught her part way through and couldn't see very well. I agree with you though-she is just amazing!

I fell behind again.:confused3 Love the pictures of the hot dogs. You guys should make a mint selling those because each one looks absolutely delicious.

LeCellier food looks yummy with the exception of Will's appetizer. Don't think I would have liked it either.

My 12 year old is looking forward to trying the new Kim Possible mission. I'm always looking for ways to get him interested in the World Showcase countries.

I agree with the candy lady being mesmerizing. I could stand there and watch here over and over again.

Looking forward to reading all about the Dis Meet.

I hate when that happens.

Here's to great success in the hot dog business to you all!!!

Enjoyed the pics from Le Cellier. Still no luck in ressies for any day during my weeklong trip. Even considered changing around the schedule a bit. Hope some spots will open up at the 45 day mark or, maybe we'll just luck into something once we're there. :confused3 Aside from the Spirit of Aloha dinner show and Boma for breakfast, it was my only MUST do.

Well, keep up the good work. Looks like there are many of us here enjoying your vacation.

Hi Alan
Kim Possible sounds cool - I think my DD (she's 11) would love this! I will definitely check out the candy lady in Japan on our next visit.

Too bad real life gets in the way of TRs - can we all be like Kramer, sit around all day, do nothing, and live in a fantasy world (er... Disney world??!):thumbsup2

I can't wait to read about your big meet!! I love the candy lady, on my last trip I was lucky enough to get picked and she made a elephant for me, I still have it, too neat to eat!!

Melissa

Thanks, Melissa! We had seen the candy lady on the travel channel...and we knew that was something we wanted to see in person. How cool to have been picked!! I don't blame you....I would not have eaten it either! What a great souvenir!

Hi Alan,

Just checked your (preliminary) bfdawgs.com site and let me tell you that I think the design is wonderful! Simple, strong, vibrant colors and a really appetizing hot dog in the main page!!. Congrats to your web designer!! I bookmarked it and will make sure to check it often.

Regards,

Luis

Thanks, Luis! The best part is that he is one of my best friends and he's doing the web site for me at no charge - just free hot dogs!! He is excited about us opening a hot dog restaurant, and this is his way of pitching in to help us out.

I so agree about the heat. It seemed killer that day in WS on our way to France. Dh was the first to notice you guys in Japan and point you out to me. I think all I could see in front of me was heat waves.

Oh my gosh....it was like the 5th circle of hell hot! I am NOT a cap guy....I am a proud bald man! Yet on this day a cap was a must. You could tell that all that moisture was in the air, and the humidity made it feel like a sauna. I felt much better after I got a little water.

I remember seeing you guys!!! I absolutely LOVED your way-too-original shirts! ;)

Hi Alan !! The Meet has begun!!!! I am loking forward to the kids doing Kim Possible in September !! I think they will love it!!! Your pix of it and the Candy lady are as always awesome !!! When Judy sees The World she is gonna realie what a HUGE mistake she made the last time by skipping it !!It is my favorite thing to do!!!

Ah yes....the meet has begun! I've got tons of pictures to post!

The Kim Possible thing would have been wayyy more fun if it had not been so HOTT! The kids loved it! They also enjoyed watching the candy lady....it was hard for me to drag them away. Anyway, they are totally embarrassed by my spot-on impersonation of the candy lady: "Ok, Ok....for you....I make candy....shiny, shiny...for you...beautiful candy"

Can't wait to try the Kim Possible experience it looks so much fun and I love the candy lady too, she's so clever :goodvibes

The Kim Possible thing is really cool. I would elaborate further, but I don't want to give away the cool things about it! It will suffice to say that there are lots of little "surprises" that you would never notice otherwise.

great report can't wait to read more. It just gets me more and more excited about our upcoming trip.

Good luck with your upcoming trip! Thanks for reading!

We did the Kim Possible thing in the U.K., and Elizabeth and the kids did it in Japan while I took a bench break. Next time, I would like to do it in other countries as well.

I fell behind again.:confused3 Love the pictures of the hot dogs. You guys should make a mint selling those because each one looks absolutely delicious.

Ah...you're sweet to say so. We have really put a lot of time and money into opening the restaurant....so we are keeping our fingers crossed! Wouldn't it be cool if the restaurant took off, and as a result we were financially able to afford a little DVC!!

Your 12-yr-old should love KP. There are some cool little surprises. I must admit, us grown ups were having fun with it also!

This was our first time to see the candy lady....and what a cool thing to watch! You really feel like you are watching someone perform a lost art.

I know my daughter will want to do the Kim Possible Mission. I am glad to hear that it is fun. I have never been to DW in the nasty heat. I don't know how I would handle that.

You might end up enjoying the Kim Possible Mission yourself!!

As for the heat...we are from Alabama....so we KNOW heat! It was even hotter than Alabama hot. whew.

I really enjoyed your first trip report, I'm excited to start this one. There's no better way to waste time while at work than with a trip report!

Yay for trip reports!!! :yay: Thanks, and welcome!

Thanks very much! We are going into this hot dog business being cautiously optimistic. It is difficult to start something new in this economy, but we figure that people aren't going to stop eating out....just eating out less expensively!

Stay persistent on the Le Cellier thing. Sometimes they get cancellations....you never know!

Hahaha....Yes, only to have the Kramer lifestyle! I loved the episode when Kramer's strike was over - all those years it turned out that he was on strike!!! Then, after the strike was over, he quit after the first day back!! Classic!

After months and months of planning and planning....and being the brunt of a lot of tutu-wearing, shrinkage-laden, tiara-sporting ribbing from my best DIS buds, it was time to actually put faces with names!

As we were standing watching the candy lady, suddenly we got to meet several of our DISfriends! From left to right: Kara (karajeboo), Ellen (podsnel), Cammie (Camster0307), and Myst (Mysteria)!!!

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-102.jpg

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-103.jpg

Ellen's friend, Lonnie, took the following picture of the Renfroe family with the aforementioned DISers!

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-104.jpg

It was only about 2:15pm, and we were ALREADY having fun! We decided to walk over to Italy before out DISmeet. We had promised Wil that we would get him an official soccer jersey from Italy. (He is really, really big into soccer...and quite a good player!) The DISmoms came along as well and we all shopped as if we were a bunch of relatives during the holiday season! I almost balked when I saw the $70 price tag on the jersey....but a promise is a promise...and I wasn't about to let my son down! Besides, we were all just having such a great time! We are at Disney World, my son has been wanting this jersey for over a year, and we hanging out with some of the coolest people on the planet!

After purchasing the jersey, we started making our way back the France Pavilion.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-106.jpg

Of course, we stopped to smell the roses along the way. (Literally!)

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-107.jpg

As we entered the France Pavilion, I could see some lime green shirts on the horizon, but we had to stop for the manditory Grand Marnier Orange Slushie first!!

Among the first to arrive were Jason (colinsdad), his son Colin, and his friend, and Lessa.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-108.jpg

Mary, Jeff, and their adorable daughters were there also. (MaryAZ)

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-109.jpg

Soon after, the DISmoms joined in on the fun (Kara, Lonnie, Ellen, and Cammie). That's Angela back there as well.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-110.jpg

and, of course, ROSIE!! (englishrose47)

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-114.jpg

Rosie was kind enough to have made lanyards for everyone at the meet with the Team Focker Watch slogan on them. Thanks Rosie!

In addition, Ellen (podsnel) gave me a special gift. It was a special t-shirt that she had made just for me!!! (aww...thanks, Ellen!) (Since I am at work while writing this, I will post EXACTLY what the t-shirt read from my home computer on a later post!)

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-112.jpg

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-111.jpg

Check out Ellen and me! Don't we look like the kids that got YOU into trouble back in high school? (You are TOO COOL Ellen!)

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/alan_renfroe/03-115.jpg

Wil was busy doing what he does best - TEXTING!

Hi everyone! I am so so sorry that I haven't had the time to respond to your wonderful posts, and I am certainly going to make that time up next week. However, we are in the home stretch for opening our new hot dog restaurant, B.F. Dawgs. We passed our final health inspection on Tuesday and I have literally been working from 8am until midnight or later each night. You have my promise that I will not abandon my DIS-duties!!!!

We now have our web site up at bfdawgs.com. We are going to have a private opening tomorrow night and we open to the public this Saturday. Craziness!!!

Anyway, I am going to post more pictures from the Mammoth May Meet and a new chapter for the trip report following this post.....so you all don't get bored!

Hope all is well with ALL of you. Pray for the Renfroes as we enter into a very interesting chapter in our lives. :grouphug:

Hello Renfores !
Don't remember if I've posted on your TR before but I've read the whole thing.

I have to chime in now and say Best of Luck with B F Dawgs !
Your menu looks fantastic. I love Chicago dogs, just might have to drive over to Jascksonville and visit you. Also can't believe you have Frito pies, another favorite of mine.

You'll do great, your menu is extensive, your prices are good and you're a family friendly place, being in a college town can't hurt either ( I have a friend who went to Jac State)

Alan, one tip.

I know you probably are rushed to hire some more help, but PLEASE for the sake of your customers....hire some decent individuals.

Yours is not a chain, so I'm sure you'll do a good job hiring, but it frustrates me...some of the food chains these days who seem to have absolutely no interest in training managers to hire decent personnel.
From a $ standpoint, pay a little more...get better workers and you'd probably need less employees. I've seen some places with 5 or 6 rude and incompetent employees. Man....3 respectful, hard-working employees could do just as much work as the lazies.
