I'm assuming "Fresh" means real, not fake or dried rose petals, correct?

my WP said we can order Fresh Rose Petals from Disney Floral for $135 to do the Aisle Runner on the ship. Now $135 seems a bit high just for rose petals.....but i can't think of how to get REAL rose petals on the ship any other way. I won't have access to a refridgeator and I can't expect roses to last 2 days, will they? And i'd still have to pull all the petals off. How many roses would you think i need to cover the aisle?

Anyone have any idea what else to do?

I don't have an answer for you... but the bright side is that Disney Floral quoted me $300 for petals to line the aisle in the WP.

Could you bring silk maybe?

WOW i guess i'm getting a bargain then! :rotfl:

I don't know if she specifically said FRESH because they don't want to run the risk of having the Silk blow overboard into the ocean.

BUT.....we will still be in port so they would just blow into Nassau, which may be an improvement. :thumbsup2

I thought Carrie said once you can use dried petals, but I may be mistaken. They are technically real and were once fresh! :rotfl: I am sure the planner said fresh petals because I don't think Disney even offers freeze-dried ones. I would just ask your planner. :)

I'm not sure about a cruise ship, but I was thinking of getting fresh roses from SAMS or something similar and taking the rose petals off the night before the wedding and using them for the wedding the next day. This would probably save some money. This would count as fresh (I'm sure). Has anyone done this before???

Are you able to just ask them for like $60 worth of petals? I think unless you want to coat the aisle you should be good.

At WDW you can use freeze-dried ones. You could ask your planner and see if the cruise ship has some kind of prohibition on them, but another idea is to see if The Perfect Gift can sell them to you for less. (http://www.theperfectgift.cc or 800-950-4559) They deliver floral arrangements to the ships, and several brides have used them to augment what Disney provides in the package. :thumbsup2

I think fresh flowers to line the aisle would be just lovely. The flowers may be pricey but I know you have made some compromises already for your ceremony. Try to get the best deal on the roses and go for it ;)

p.s. flower petals are biodegradable so no worries

I heard back from my WP and DCL will now allow "eco-friendly, biodegradable Freeze Dried rose petals" for use on board. But Disney Floral does not provide them so we'll have to get them ourselves. Fine by me, as i'm sure it'll be cheaper than $135!! :thumbsup2

Jen.. Did you call shirley?? I had rose petals from her for my cake table.. she is much cheaper! It is the labor of plucking them I think.. Just have a dozen sent in your colors
