Has anyone else noticed that the latest Vacation Magic highlights a resort (on the reverse cover) at which we <i>can't</i> use our points to stay?

(The white buildings are the Boardwalk Inn, right?)

I may be wrong, but I think the picture is actually of the villas. Look at the double balconies (near the DVC logo printed on Mickey ears). Those look like balconies for a 1 bedroom to me (an entrance from the living room and one from the bedroom). You can see that those balconies do not have any "divider" to make the balconies private for each room. I don't think there are any balconies at the BWI that are "shared" by two different hotel rooms.

Yes, that is the part of the BWV just to the left of the entrance that is on the front cover.

Did anybody else notice that on page 5, they refer to the 5th Anniversary Animation Event as being held at 'The Villas at Disney Institute'? I think somebody jumped the gun on the name...

I guess you're right. I had always understood that the "villas" were painted in colors, and the "Inn rooms" were painted all white.

I didn't even notice the balconies...

I'm still not so sure....

Buckylarue - that <i>would</i> be the start of the villas to the left of the entrance - but the picture on the back cover is not a continuation of the shot on the front.

Look at the family on the front cover. They are identified as being from Wheeling, West Virginia. Look at their van. It has Florida plates!

It's not a continuation of the same shot; it's taken a little farther down the driveway, at an angle shooting up so you don't see the street, but I'm pretty sure that's that wing of the villas. The entrance side of the Inn and the Villas is white.

Actually, the properties at the Disney Institute were "villas" long before DVC used that term.

We were at BWV on the day that picture of the family was taken. It was a well ocrestrated event that took most of the day! The SUV was moved all around, the belongings in the back rearranged a dozen times, the light filters and umbrella shaped things placed and moved etc. I remarked to my husband that they must use paid fill ins for the shots as you would lose a whole day at Disney to be in the commercial. I was pleasantly surprized to see the picture on the cover of the VM as it brought back memories of that beautiful day during Easter Spring Break that we had at BWV.

I too caught that little bit and then too decided it was a rental. Then looked again at ALL the stuff and thought "yeah right, like they brought all that stuff on the plane with them". Then I realize, this is Disney...........

We were there the week before Easter when they shot the ad. I wouldn't have wanted to be that family. It took hours to shoot those pictures. I don't remember seeing that family there but I think they had cast members standing in to get the lighting down before the actual shoot.
Is the hidden Mickey they mention on the inside cover made up of the blue hat and tennis rackets?

What do you think DVC "does" for a family like that, in terms of "compensation," after spending so much of their day shooting an ad?

Not sure I'd believe they were willing to sacrifice so much vacation time, "just for the experience of it all."

All the chocolate chip cookies they can eat?!? :)

Free park passes? How much does it really cost them to let an extra family into the park?

I was thinking the same thing... Free park passes, I know I'd jump at that offer!!!

Now I have a question... You know the illuminated Boardwalk lettering in front of the valet area? Does that structure have a name to it? Like if you were to stay on that side of the BW & you wanted a view of that, what would you ask for?
