Bergenia-A plant that is becoming more common as a boarder plant. They grow to heights of 12 inches and are a great ground cover. With their leathery leaves and red, pink or white flowers. They look great planted in front of hosta's or ferns and add some color.

Bergenia keep it's foliage year round and most varieties darken as winter approaches. Some turn a deep red or purple.

Bergenia likes a soil rich in humus and semi-shade.

I have a couple of areas where Bergenia would be perfect! I like how the flowers look like little bells, and for some reason the flower stems look a little like rhubarb to me......must have rhubarb on the brain these days...LOL! :)

Thank you Mamu! :D
