Do you tip the concierge team? Just wondering! Thanks!

Hi iluvorlando! :D No, the concierge staff does not accept tips, I asked about this myself when cruising concierge. They made it clear that they neither expect or are allowed to take tips.

I asked about tipping concierge when I called to make our Pre-boarding reservations and was told that they DO accept tips! I then re-read the Magical Cruise Guide that says they don't accept tips. We were torn when on board. We decided they hadn't done anything above and beyond for us and their service was just adequate, so we didn't tip them...we did however tip all other tipped positions more than recommended and included all 6 of us in that figure. (as is suggested )

If you're not sure, you could always bring some phone cards and give them as a "gift." That way, it's not actually a tip.

Thanks, Barb. A "gift" is exactly what I would probably lean to. What would be appropriate?

We buy the phone cards in bulk at Sam's Club (they are also available for a good price at Costco). That way, we can hand them out to anyone in a non-tipped position who helps us out (Guest Services, Cruise Staff, etc.), as well as for a bonus to tipped staff. Other nice little items include stuff from Bath and Body Works for the women and little items from your home city (I like to bring little boxes of Frango Mints, which are a Chicago treat). Also, pick up a little box of thank-you cards...the crew members really seem to appreciate them.

We just got back from the 7-day Western cruise and WDW today. I'll write up a report later, but I thought I'd offer a quick reply to your question. We did tip the concierge. We were in a Cat 3 room so they did do quite a bit for us: booked spa, verified excursions & Palo reservations, left us reminder voice mails, printed daily itineraries, checked in our kids into the clubs and provided us with a pager in advance etc., etc. etc.

On the last evening we handed Chad (our primary contact) an envelope with a tip which I expect he would share with the two other members of the concierge team.
