View Full Version : Question about renting points

I'm not sure where to go with my questions because the rent board said not to ask questions, there so here goes...
I need points at a specific WDW DVC to complete a reservation. I have some points but the reservation requires more than I have. I would need someone to transfer points to my account, but I have no clue how to proceed with this.
I could also just have them make the end of the week reservations.
What is the going rate to rent these points?
What is the safest way to do this?
Do I need to pay up-front before making the reservation? If so, that seems to be a bit of a risk.
Can anyone help me?

I would suggest posting a transfer wanted on the Rent/Trade boards (there are stickys with the rules).
I have never done either but feel that the transfer would be the safest option as then you control your entire reservation.
I have read that many do a 50% down and then the rest once the transfer is made, usually by a 3 way call with MS.
Good luck!!

Well once the mods get ahold of your post, they are going to remove your dates so it does not seem like "a rent/trade request". I can almost quote them!! :lmao:
Anyway....do post a transfer request on the Rent/Trade board with the details of how many points you need. You will surely get someone to transfer the points to you. Usually you can find points for approx $10pp although DVC members think that's too low to rent/transfer it happens all the time. Sometimes lower. Just be patient and look for a reputable DVC member, don't me afraid to ask and check up on references. And typically you do have to pay something up front, and with a transfer, where all transactions are immediate and final, you probably will have to pay 100% upfront, and usually this is not a problem. Transfers can be done on a 3-way call. Just work out ALL the details before sending payment so neither party is disappointed.
