Got a few hours of sunshine yesterday in between monsoon rains- so we headed out to do a little paddling on the Rainbow River in Dunnellon FL. All shots taken with a new-to-me D200 & borrowed-from-Camryn 18-200vr.

Scared of bugs but kids have no fear of 72 degree water!

Loaded up the gear and got maybe two miles down the road when it hit. Perfect timing. ;)

FUN!!! Thanks for sharing your outing with us.
I swear, Jeff, it doesn't matter what camera you use, your photos are always excellent. :)

Really sorry you had to move backwards in technology. Just proves that it is the photographer not the camera. Who da thunk?

Love em---and with the 18-200 none the less!

The fact that the gator was within 500 feet or so of where I was swimming would have freaked this NJ resident out. When large reptiles are as common as squirrels though---I guess you learn to deal with it!

Looks like a great time. I love canoeing. We haven't done it much since we had the kids, but we've been getting back into it as they've been getting older.

While the pics are great (as usual), the first one looks a bit crunchy like it was oversharpened.

Thanks all-

Moving backwards? Considering my kit is made of nine outdated primes- 0 of which have VR- 4 of which are not even made anymore- 3 of which barely meter and don't auto focus- I thought I was moving FORWARD. ;)

Moving backward would be like last year when I bought the F100. I still need to get all that film developed to see if that thing even worked. :rolleyes1

Well my free trial of Topaz expired. I was just having some fun trying to oversharpen and oversaturate all on my own. ;)

Jeff-

Congrats on the new-to-you backup and for finding some sun amidst the showers. Looks like Team Gdad had a fine time on the water!

Now you've gone and done it! How will I ever be able to talk my DH into the 24-70 2.8 and the 70-200 2.8 if you're gonna just go ahead and shoot photos like that with the 18-200! Looks like everyone had fun!
