We will be going on the 3 day cruise for our first cruise (can't convince husband to do 4 day). Anyway, I was looking at the itinerary and it says on Friday you arrive at Nassau at 9:15 AM and leave at 11:00 PM. My question is 1) do you have to get off the ship? and 2) if you don't have to get off are all the activities still available on the ship such as the kids oceaneer labs and the pools?
This may sound stupid, but since I have never been on a cruise I have no clue if the staff gets a break while the ship is docked? Thanks in advance.

Hi Terry! There are no stupid questions, so feel free to ask away. :D
You certainly CAN stay on the ship on Nassau day if you'd like...I always do. The pools are open (and less crowded) and the kid's programming is definitely open and going full-swing on port days. There are other activities going on as well, so you can definitely find something to do should you stay on the ship.
Enjoy your cruise! :D

Thanks Michelle, I am sure as the cruise gets closer I will have a million questions. I consider myself somewhat of an expert on Walt Disney World, but I am a complete rookie as far as the cruise goes. Thank again!

We just got back today from the 3 day cruise (loved it!). The kids and I stayed on the ship and DH just stepped off for a few minutes. We were definately not alone! The Mickey pool was still jumping, lunch at the Beach Blanket Buffet was quite full and there were lots of activities for the kids at the club and lab.
Have fun!!!! (we sure did! LOL)

Don't feel silly...I have seen this question asked several times before!
Personally, we just stay on the ship in Nassau and pretend that it's a sea day. It's nice to see if you have never been there before, but we prefer hanging out at the pools and spa or doing some of the activities and catching a movie. You will not be bored...check out the navigators on my site at www.***************** to see the activities on Nassau day.
