Hello, all! I'm finally back with a new pre-trip. You probably did not notice that I've been much less present on the TR/PTR boards, and the DIS in general. Or you may not have wondered why a few days of waking up in Vegas took me five months to write. My excuse goes a little something like this: I got sent to vacation addict rehab. In short, I got a new job in November (matter of fact, I decided it was "On like Donkey Kong" (or at least that's what I Tweeted) the day they announced the 4/3 deal. No, I wasn't planning a trip.). While this is good-I'm working in my actual field, and more pleseant to be around, it came with the stipulation of no earned time for six months, which is in two weeks not that I'm counting. Anyway, let us begin at the beginning, shall we?
Halloween is my favorite holiday, so once I learned about MNSSHP and the decorations (which I think was waaayback when Mickey* and Minnie went with the Evanses and Sharpay when Sharpay was in Kindergarden. Sharpay will be entering high school in the fall. Holy cow.) I knew I had to go. Alas, I could not go for many years, as I was in school. Then I decided to go Christmas 07. Anyway, I knew I needed to make it to MNSSHP. As a group of people on another board I'm on are having a meet in laste October, I figured this would be my chance.
Who: At present it's just me. My mother might be coming-we've had kind of a stinky '09 so far-her brother (only sibling) passed away in March, then her BFF/my godmother (bff fo' realz-close to 60 years they've been BFF. Amazing given Mom's 21 ;) )'s DH passed away on Mother's Day. I'm hoping Mom joins me for part of it to clear her head, but I'm also kind of looking forward to having some solo time in the parks.
What: A trip to WDW, of course. I'm planning on hitting MNSSHP, F&W fest (possibly some events), and the parks. At some point this summer, I'm probably also heading down to Naples to see the aforementioned Godmother, as well as to make good use of my Superbowl Universal ticket.
Where: Ok people, I have a confession to make. My name is Heather, and I'm a Hotelpickophobe. I believe this was cemented on my Vegas trip, when I switched hotels on Sunday night, when we checked in on Friday night. When I started pricing this out, I used a Travel agent. I did this mainly because at the time I worked in phone-based customer service, and after 8.5 hours on the phone you don't want to talk to Sparkle about costs of POFQ and dining at Boma. I've been pretty happy-I'm using Deb at The Magic for Less. Anyway, when I first booked this trip in November, I had her price out Pop and CBR with AAA rates. I know I've denegrated CBR in the past, but the pirate pool looked cool, it's near Epcot, and it's a Mod I haven't tried. So it was CBR for October 23-29. All was well and good until It came in my inbox. It was a (shh) PIN code! It started on 10/25-I had my TA run some places, but I decided on WL-it's no CR (my dream resort, if you don't know), or Poly, but it's still pretty snappy. So I was at CBR for 10/23-25, and WL for 10/25-29. Then JetBlue released their fares-it was much cheaper for me to leave on the night of the 22nd after work. So I switched to Pop preferred room (after trekking to the 90's section during Fay, I preferred room seemed worth it). Now, I'd put money on myself changing my reservation-I'm hoping for either a renewed 4/3 deal or even free dining, but I might also rent points, as a metric boatload of people in the group I'm with are staying at SSR.
When: Late 10/22 to 10/29, 2009 (my ticker goes to 10/23, as that's when I think I'll be on WDW property)
Why: Because a girl ought to celebrate what passes by (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gi8vabJUeIM). ( Yes, that is Sara Ramirez , aka Callie Torres, singing)
How: Three guess as to what airline I'm taking. Ding! Ding! Jetblue. Woohoo! I love JetBlue (actually, there was something going on when I booked my tickets and I had to call to get my credit from my August '08 trip applied to my tickets. The call ended with me telling the agent I loved her company.)
Up next..what I'm looking forward to doing, where I'm looking forward to eating...
*Heather's family, in a nutshell. I live with my mother and cat, Oscar. I have three older brothers, whom I will refer to as follows:
Mr Evans, Mrs. Evans (Formerly known as OldestBrother and DSIL) and Sharpay (aka Dniece15-who is a much nicer person than Sharpay Sharpay. I debated going with "Mitchie" and the "Torreses", but decided against it. Also debated calling her Melody, but given Melody is Minnie Mouse's niece and not Mickey Mouse's, the asymmetry bothered me.).
Jack and Sally (aka MiddleBrother and DSIL). Their children are Mordie, 14, and Ferdie, 10 (aka OlderNephew and YoungerNephew)
Mickey and Minnie (aka YoungestBrother and DisneyMSF)
Mickey, Minnie, the Evanes and Sharpay are heading to Kidani village in August, so there may be some snippets here and there about that.

Hi Heather! How many days since your last fix?! ;)

Almost 3 months! I haven't changed since I swapped CBR for Pop. :scared1: However, that doesn't stop my mind. I got an e-mail from the Swolphin yesterday (not for my dates, of course) and was all "you hated it last time! But, but I could walk to f&W!")

Things I am looking forward on this trip which are new (and not restaurants):
MNSSHP
Food and Wine festival
Toy Story Mania
Tren-D
Possibly the KTTK tour
Characters in Flight
Kim Possible
In other Disney trip news, I tok advantage of Old Navy’s $3 graphis tees on Satrday, so some will probably be going to WDW with me. Also (yay, squee!) Minnie ordered me a Passporter (she has a discount), which I got tonight. Yay!
In other news, I think I mentioned that I was planning a trip to not WDW (Naples and Universal) this summer. At present, I’m still in the loose planning stages (it looks like July 31 to August 5), but Hotes.com was having a sale, so at resent I’m booked at the Hotel Universal for the first night I’m in Orlando and the last (in between I’ll be onsite at Universal)

There'll be a fuller update the erm, 12th of danged if I know (work is busy-but I'm using a trick I learned from Tiggerbell and bringing my flash drive, Lexie from my Vegas trip and her DFi are coming to visit on Wednesday, then there's Sharpay's recital this weekend), but I must make sme quick updates:
]I GET MY VACATION TIME TODAY-:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1: So I'll be putting in for my other Orlando trip, plus this one.
Went over to Mickey and Minnie's on Saturday night (Mickey helped me pull stuff off of my old laptop onto my new one). You will be shocked ;) to hear that Minnie and I talked Disney. Mickey, Mrs. Evans, and possibly Sharpay may be trying characters in flight. They're looking forward to trying Kidani, and are eating at Boma, Sannaa and Jiko.
Only vaguely PTR related (although I'm debating doing La Nouba, and seeing another Cirque show will help me decide, right?) I'm taking Mordie and Ferdie to see Alegria next month.

Of course (imagine me channeling Lou Mongello here), there are restaurants which I am looking forward to eating at. I can neither confirm nor deny I have a running list in my cell phone. If you've never read a P/TR by me before, I'm an ovo-lacto vegetarian who hates mushrooms, and eggs (like if they''re fried). Normal Gardenburgers have mushrooms in them, so I'm not a fan. Purportedly the new Garden burgers are exclusive to WDW-they have no mushrooms (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=30890265), but I'm trying to avoid paying $7 to find out I hate them, kwim. New restaurants I am looking forward to eating at include:
*The Wave. Menu looks awesome, plus I love the Contemporary.
* Sannaa-I believe I took one look at this menu and declared that I wanted to have its babies. I’m thinking I may eat here on Animal Kingdom day, as I’m not a fan of anything available counter service at Ak, and I love Tusker House, but think it+Boma is redundant.
*kouzzina restaurant-I love Cat Cora, so I hope the restaurant a)is open when I go, and b)has vegetarian options
* I'm excited to try the T-Rex. I actually like RFC, and I like dinosaurs (I'm just never going on Dinosaur again in my life.)
*The people I am going with are going to 'Ohana, which I'd most likely never go to on my own, so that should be interesting
*I'm debating Kona-I know I want Tonga Toast, but may cheap out and go to Captain Cooks again
Old favorites
*Beaches and Cream-due to the burger issues, and depending on what veggies are in the wrap, I'm thinking I may just get fries and a no way jose, unless I could ask for a roll with cheese on it
*Boma, Boma, Boma. I love Boma. All the falafels and fufu go down into mah belly.
*Columbia Harbor House
*Sunshine Seasons
*LeCellier-possibly, but not if they still have mushroom ravioli
*Fantasmic dinner package-possibly hollywood and vine
*Planet hollywood
*earl of sandwich
*Goofy's candy kitchen
*character breakfast, but I'm not sure which one, other than not Chef Mickey's
Of course, I've been doing some pre-trip shopping. I am trying to convince myself I don't need a new park bag, so to keep myself happy I've been hunting for a new laptop bag. I have a lovely new Built NY neoprene sleeve for Jessie the new laptop. I'm also hunting for a new fastpass holder-the Tink one I bought in '07 broke at Universal last year, then my second one kept on falling off. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have a DISunplugged lanyard, but the holder doesn't zip. Any thoughts?
ETA; I saw UP last night. I loved it, but I was bawling through the first part. Mom was going to take Mordie and Ferdie to see it Thursday, but I may steer her towards something else.

I had a feeling you'd like that new menu!! :goodvibes Very vegetarian-friendly!! I've read that the animals come out to the savanaa around twelve, so if you get your lunch ADR around then, you may see them having their lunch, too!

As far as the pass holder, I just use the one on my lanyard, sorry! :confused3 No help there!

I've been dying to try Sanaa and Kouzina too..mmmmm! The menu for Sanaa sounds amazing. Sadly my mom is even more of a picky eater than you so Sanaa is out of the question. :( For Le Cellier, you could always just order a few appetizers for yourself?

As for Kouzina...not sure of what their menu will be like but being Greek I can assure you that there are always a TON of veggie options (with no mushrooms! lol) and a ton of stuff can be tweaked to accomodate you. I always joke with my mom, who was born in Greece, that she really can't be Greek since she's vegetarian. What Greek do you know that doesn't eat seafood and lamb? :) haha

After this (http://www.disunplugged.com/2009/06/14/paradiso-37/) review, and a glance at the menu, I'm adding Paradiso 37 to my list. I am now up to 3 DTD food places. I may need to remind myself I won't be able to just take a boat to DTD this trip.
On a quasi-related note, I'm irked that free dining's booking window was extended by a month-I was hoping to see what codes were available prior to my ADR window.

:lmao: I'm a cafetaria vegetarian (read: I'm vegetarian until my body screakms "MEAT NOW!") and thought this looked great, too! Only, where in heck can a girl get some tofu at WDW??? I thought for sure I'd find it at Sanaa. :sad1:

Boston. (Oddly enough, "Mickey" and "Minnie" were not invited, although a good number of DVC owners appeared to be) As Mom was supposed to be out of town this weekend,* I booked it for just myself. I wasn't sure what to expect; I was thinking it might be like the DVC Doorway to Dreams to Chicagoans have. Anyway, I headed out of my house this morning to board the T and check it out (Deal or No Deal tryouts were at a nearby hotel, so I was worried about thundering hoardes**). The only real thundering hoards I saw were waiting for the T to the waterfront, so I waked from South Station. There was a big beer event going on at the Seaport World Trade Center, but there were people in mouse gloves directing us. The registration had said we needed the confirmation e-mail, but they just took my last name.
There was a kids club where you could drop your wee ones off, and then the adults and kids who refused the kids club headed into the auditorium which was playing a slideshow of Disney photos. Everyone got a lanyard with a tiny remote on it.
I was seated in the front, next to a guy about my age. As the were seating me, I was tempted to make a smart remark about stopping in the middle being unpatriotic, but decided not to do so. I watched the slideshow-should I be ashamed or proud at all the places I recognized (pool at the Disneyland Hotel). There was a mother with her DD who was 6ish, who was narrating the slides ("there's big thunder mountain! It's too scary for me." Mom: No it's not. "Yes, it is.") Guy and I were in stitches. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3346/3645112298_99a7d0cf17.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2442/3645112744_7ed3f02146_m.jpg The remote (please excuse my ugly nails, I was moving people at work last week, so didn't bother with a redo.)
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3570/3644306253_65fe270181_m.jpg This is the Wishmaster-he gave a little speech, then the "tech crew" came out at did some acapella. The Nikki and Dave gave us the standard yay DVC speech. We got free luggage tags, bionculars, ears, and a padfolio. At one point, they were asking people to name their favorite resorts they'd stayed at-most people were all Poly! GF! CR! Me "POFQ!" Guy next to me "Pop Century!"
Then they got into the cost and breaking even dealio. Sample family they pointed at? Me and Guy. LOLZ. I would have thought they might have done more publically about financing, as I remember being impressed with the monthly cost, but they did not. They were having some awesome incentives, but only for BLT and only if you bought there. They drew a name for a free week at a RCI timeshare, I did not win.
Then, Mickey ad Minnie came in to escort us to the dance party-they were playing music and dancing, I met with Aladdin, Cindy and the Fairy Godmother. When I was in line for Cindy, there was a girl who could not decide whether to like her or not, the Fairygodmother asked me to take their photo, I did. Cindy later told me I had a good heart.http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3660/3645115670_73009c403f.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2452/3644308697_f5ccd3bec8.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2481/3644309087_ba6e788f8c.jpg The food was good-a chocolate fountain, cupcakes and truffles. There were DVC people there if you wanted to talk to them, or you could go speak with the salespeople.
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3613/3645117244_a2ab16f6e5.jpg Had i known how fun it would have been-I may have seen if Mordie and Ferdie wanted to go.
Incidentally, I am nw the aunt of a high schooler (Sharpay), Eighth grader (Mordie), and Fifth grade (Ferdie). :faint::faint:
*Mom was supposed to go to the Vineyard today, but she had some estate uck for my uncle come up.

Soon I hope to be able to start talking about my other Florida trip this year.
I just got back yesterday from the Vineyard for the weekend (and am now sick- dizzy and feeling like my brain is about to come out my skull-yay!). It was a very good time. Remember when I described the Yacht Club as being "the hotels on Martha's Vineyard that you're too poor to stay at? Here's what I mean. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2575/3669457062_e7b95e3408.jpg (Actually, we did stay there one year because there was a deal in the paper, and we missed our week at the timeshare-I'm pretty sure it was due to the Evanses getting married, but Mom's not sure. It was 17 years ago. :scared1::scared1:) Anyway, I was reading my Passporter in our room, and reading hotel descriptions. (it's normal to read guidebooks of other vacations on vacation, right?) I was reading hotel descriptions when a light came on over my head. "Hedy," said the lightbulb, "You are worried a room at Pop would be too small, but look at the room you are in now." The room as two twin beds, and is smaller than Pop. So we shall see-I'm hoping a deal for my dates comes out soon so I can finalize (ha!) my hotel.
I'm continuing to think about my MNSSHP costume-I'm leaning towards Giselle or Ariel. I think either of the Disney Store costumes would be way too hot. I'm thinking of blue skirt+t-shirt+corset+bow=Kiss the Girl costume, but we shall see. I think I'll check out the local thrift stores (my word, if only the mother volunteered at a thrift store. Oh wait, she does but it's closed for the summer).
Even if my mom cames, she'll be showing up late in the game, as she is doing an Alzheimer's Walk for a friend of hers with early onset. I'm planning on making them shirts again this year (and hopefully not starting three days before they need them). I'd like to find some sort of Alzheimer's awareness* DISign for me to wear that day, but I don't see anything on the board for it, and I find most of the shirts on Zazzle too syrupy.
*Hops on soapbox. 1 in 8 people over 65 have Alzheimer's.

I'm continuing to think about my MNSSHP costume-I'm leaning towards Giselle or Ariel. I think either of the Disney Store costumes would be way too hot. I'm thinking of blue skirt+t-shirt+corset+bow=Kiss the Girl costume, but we shall see.

Sounds really cute... I love that song!! (Will you be turning yourself into a redhead, too??)

My hair's naturally auburn-I'm planning on using it as it, with some flat iron/curling iron fun, but may add extensions if I can find some cheaply enough (my hair's arm pit length on a humid day)

What a gorgeous room! You are right! The Yacht Club does look like it!

I think Ariel would be a fun one for MNSSHP!

Apparently I missed that you started a new one!! Forgive my DISignorance!

Plans sound great, I would go w/ Ariel's Kiss the Girl costume, I think it would be easier to find/make the outfit components. Also, it's more unique.

How are the furkids, Oscar and Belle?! I haven't seen pictures of them in a while ... nudge, nudge...

Oscar and Belle are good, they've been a little clingy lately as Mom's been away almost every weekend this month (which one week was coupled by my best friend and her fiance visiting-apparently the cats find tall men interesting). They're good now though, as Oscar's friend Ferdie came over, and my aunt sent them a laser mouse, which is very fun for them. (for those of you have not seen pictures before, Belle is the black cat, and she's 5. Oscar is the large white one, and is about 9).

What makes a hectic period at work better? (besides, despite this, having the overwhelming want to point and laugh as you drive by your old job*) Coming home to park hours! Of course, this now means I have to plan what I'm doing on which days. Do any other OTP's open up Excel, start making a plan, and wonder how on Earth they fit everything into a week the last time? It's starting to look like Fantasmic will be voted off the island, as a DHS rope drop is a must, and nothing seems to fit well in the am of the 26th. I'm leaning towards going to MNSSHP on the 25th. At present, the big ifs are a)do I want to do a tour, b)will I want to do any F&W events in addition to the booths, and c)what character breakfast/meal do I want to do. I'm going to ponder this some more this weekend.
In other news, I put in my time off request for my Naples/Universal trip at work, and promptly got waylaid by a sinus infection** So I decided to shave a day off my trip (ironically, by doing that I can attend a training I've been wanting to do for a while). I was playing with the dates, and mom suggested I skip Naples, and just go to Orlando. This makes things much easier for me. I'm planning on inviting the godmother to come up for the day, or overnight if she likes while I'm there. I also have booked my hotel (no airfare yet, as it's not verified). First off, I must send a shout out to jcc061-she posted on the TFW thread about Universal having a special offer during the Superbowl. I got the free ticket, plus the site on the free ticket to book your hotel was light years cheaper than AAA or All Access Club rates. I'm presently booked at RPR, standard vew, for 7/30-8/4. Woohoo. Once my airfare is set, expect more Universal planning.
Also, we are going to NYC for the Mom's birthday, which starts the day my ADR window opens up. I'm hoping to e-mail my wanted ADR's to my TA.
*I'm sorry, I am. I know going to a job you hate is a luxury so many people don't have these days, but I'm very, very glad to have my new job.
**Has anyone else had sinus issues this season? I don't have allergies, but have had two infections this season severe enough that I had to miss work.

Yes, in that last picture Oscar is wearing my croc, and he did that himself.

"If I wear your shoes, that means you have to take me with you, right?"

They both look as cute as ever! And that laser mouse sounds like a big hit! I might have to get one for Zoe - I know I'll have to put together an apology gift basket for leaving to go to WDW ... that might make a nice addition.

1. YAY! Park Hours! I was glad to see them posted too, though our plans were basically set already. Between MNSSHP and our desire to hit F&W, there really wasn't any room for movement anyways. I don't know how I feel about short trips - this has been kind of stressful to plan while trying to fit everything in that all 3 of us want.

2. I don't blame you for laughing, good for you for finding something else!

Hi Hedy!

I finally found your pre-trip report! Sounds like your plans are coming along nicely. Just wanted to mention that, if time permits, you should definitely try to see La Nouba. It's an awesome show! We've seen a bunch of Cirque shows and it's definitely our favorite. We're seen it 3 times now, and I'm looking forward to seeing it again sometime.

Sounds like you have some great restaurant choices. I'm also looking forward to Cat Cora's place opening... I'm bummed it won't be open yet where we're there in August... so I'm looking forward to hearing about it if you do eat there.

Love the pics of the cats! Especially the one with Oscar wearing your shoe :rotfl:

For the sake of you Universal Haters*, all Universal related posts will be in Seuss Green, as I'm too lazy to start a different [P]TR. Things are official. I'm booked at RPR. I got a buy 3, get two free deal through the superbowl**. Um, I think. Read on. I'm leaving after work on the 30th (as due to the 3/2 deal it was cheaper to stay at RPR for five nights than 4. I don't get it either.) I'm planning on hitting the parks, and also hitting the outlets and a few offsite restaurants (Prime for Vicky's secret and the Disney Outlet, Lake Buena Vista for HRC outlet).
I had been thinking of renting a car, but the rates are crazy high-I'm bidding on Priceline. However, the cost of a potential rental car PLUS the $15 it costs to park at RPR, it is cheaper to take the occasional cab, as well as Mears it to the Hotel.
So the Naples/RSW part of the trip has been scrapped, so therefore I am inviting the godmother down to visit for a day-I think she'll come. Therefore I may be rebooking my hotel to add her to my hotel ressie for FOTL (insert blathering her about fuzzy mathing other UO hotels).
I'm also working on food plans-I think I'm trying Tchoup Choup, but beyond that I'm not sure (UO stinks for veggie options). Also, will someone please tell me why I threw out my Universal refillable mug,, but have one from SIX Flags I got 4 years ago.:confused:
*But really, Universal isn't evil. Seriously. Are there things there that made me miss WDW (even stupid things like how there's normal candy in the dump shop), sure! OTOH, WDW didn't send me a free ticket.
**For some reason, the mother and the godmother) find it funny I got the Super Bowl ticket, as I barely follow football (other than the usual Go Pats!). Honestly, I was watching the commercials with more interest as Janet had said Universal was announcing a big deal. Mom apparently does not remember me readying the first round of Superbowl food, seeing the ad, then quickly heading downstairs to sign up.

Help!
I got a free dining PIN, but I'm unsure on what to do. At present, Pop+WL is running me about 1300. With free dining, CBR preferred room would be $1,536, Pop preferred would be $945/ Is it worth it to switch now? Should I even risk annoying my TA? Is the DDP really *that* great?
Thoughts?

KatGarcia
07-14-2009, 02:02 PM
I say the way to do the DDP is the free way, this way you can experiment with it and if you hate it you didn't pay in the first place. You can set up some 2TS meals . I would go for it!

abbybeth
07-15-2009, 09:46 AM
I enjoy the DDP for a number of reasons

1. regardless of if you're paying for it or it's free (which of course free is MUCH better!) - everything is taken care of in advance. It's once less thing to worry about.

a. With free dining, all your meals and snacks are free. Free = good.

2. I think that the DDP forces you to take a break and take advantage of the various food options at WDW. Since you wouldn't want your CS or TS credits to go to waste, you are more conscious of choosing places to eat.

a. with free dining, I think it's easier to be adventurous - if you know you're not paying for the experience you may be more willing to try someplace new.

3. It's easy, you just use your KTW card and you're good to go.

I don't think that the DDP is for everyone, but I personally love it and would use it on my trip whether it was free or not. Free dining is a great way to try it on for size and see if it suits you. I'd say go for it.

Hedy
07-15-2009, 10:06 AM
I decided to skip the free dining-I know it sounds screwy, but I've never paid rack rate before, so even with the free food it bugged me.
Can I declare '09 officially evil-I swear, it's been one pile of you-know-what after another round. Here.:mad:
However, what makes things better-15 days until I board that sweet monorail that wants me to enjoy my stay in the Orlando area, and 99 days until I drive through the lovely purple gates to WDW. :cool1::cool1::dance3::dance3::dance3::cool1:
Now, I really gotta get cracking on my ADR's, as well as plans for my rental car day at Universal. Would it be cheating if I drove over to DTD and ate at the T-Rex cafe-I have a g/c, so it would be free?

1. A very vague sketch of my Universal plans has emerged: 7/31-IOS, lunch CS, hit citywalk at night
8/1 Start at Universal, possibly cab it to an outlet
8/2 Rental car day! Hit outlets. Go to DTD, where I have a reservation at T-Rex-I have my Tchoup Chop reservation tonight, but may change it depending on the Godmother (who has had yet more you-know-what going on in her life, so obs I haven't gotten a straight answer out of her as to if she's coming)
8/3-More parks, as well as hitting up a the pool
8/4-parks, leaving :(
I've been getting my Universal stuff ready today, as I'm off to NYC next weekend. I cannot find my Universal lanyard-I'm thinking I may clip my Vera zip ID* to my DISUnplugged lanyard, but we shall see.
I'm flip flopping on the Hulk-last year I had an, erm, visitor who with my migraines kept me from doing it. I'm just really concerned that being shot out into the light would wreck havoc on my brain.

More importantly, I have settled my ADR's. These are driving me nuts because I don't know how to make them-I e-mailed my TA for her opinion as to whether she or I should do them. The big kink is that the day I am able to do them, I will be in CT, awaiting heading off to NYC for restaurant week**, celebrating the mother's 21st birthday ;), and a stop at WoD. Seems like my options are having my TA do them, me getting up at 6am to do them online (which requires lugging my new laptop around for the rest of the weekend), or calling at 7am, which necessitates most likely calling from the car.
Anyway, the winners in the ADR's and rough planning are:
Friday the 23rd-Early breakfast at CP, group dinner at 'Ohana, day at MK
Saturday the 24th-F&W booth for lunch, Chefs de France for dinner (insurance, although I'm hoping to switch that Kouzzina)
Sunday the 25th-DHS rope drop for TSM, lunch at beaches and cream. Head back to my room, the CHH and MNSSHP (oh, and Sharpay is turning 15 that day :scared1::scared1::scared1:)
Monday the 26th-Early DTD am for characers in flight, lunch at Earl's, evening at Epcot with dinner at LeCellier.
Tuesday the 27th-AK, lunch at sanaa, afternoon at DTD, dinner at Planet hollywood, possible drinks at Paradiso 37 later
Wednesday the 28th: Epcot, lunch at sunshine seasons, dinner at Boma, evening monorail tour
Thursday the 29th: Kona bfast, MK, wave lunch
*Am I the only one boggled that the Vera lanyards don't clip to the Zip id?
**We are having dinner at Alex Guarnashelli's restaurant.:love::love:

I officially hate 2009. Remember the godmother, who lost her husband on Mother's day? She joined the Dead Dad's Club (http://www.greysanatomyinsider.com/quotes/theres-a-club-the-dead-dads-club-and-you-cant-be-in-it-until-you.html) Monday morning. Poor thing. The memorial service is on Saturday. Mom's going down to Florida for the funeral*, so the trip to NYC that had nothing to do with her turning 21 has been cancelled. :sad1::sad1: Due of this, it also looks like my godmother won't be coming to visit while I'm in Orlando.
In happier news, THREE MONTHS! THREE MONTHS UNTIL WDW! Woohoo! I CANNOT wait. And The Evanses, Mickey, Minnie and Sharpay will be in WDW this time next month. I am, however, slightly bummed about the F&W fest stuff posted on Allears (http://land.allears.net/blogs/allearsteam/2009/07/a_conversation_with_mary_ann_h.html). I'd LOVE to see Cat Cora, but It's the day after I leave. Oh well, I'll live (and save money!). I do; however, take it as a sign that Kouzinna will be open when I'm there. I am currently obsessed with the new Weird Al song "Skipper Dan (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNo8LvdOwSk)." Check it out. Beyond that, I'm awaitng making my ADR's on Friday, and awaiting Disney's newest promotion once FD ends. And OMG THREE MONTHS!!!!!!!
Eight more days** and I'll be at work crawling the walls, then Logan, and then MCO! And on to RPR. I cleaned last weekend, and found my Universal lanyard***, as well as my other thingie that keeps my electronics dry. I am having no luck negotiating with Priceline on a rental car, so I booked Mears, and am doing a one-day Hertz rental. On that day, I plan on heading to DTD, and eating at T-Rex. Woohoo. Sad thing is, I wwas telling myself I could either do DTD or a Spa, and I chose DTD.
*JetBlue FINALLY has mobile flight alerts. I was very happy to see that on Twitter yesterday. She's landing on JetBlue on Monday, I'm leaving on Thursday. We should just move into the JetBlue terminal[/B]
*On our first trip to WDW, as we were counting down, my dad would sing a song that included "Six more days and I'll be home, drinking beer with lots of rum, doo dah, doo dah" [I'm pretty sure it's a real song, as my dad did not drink] Google is failing me, I'm the queen of mondegreens, and my dad's lyrics were often a little off ("someday my prince will come, then I'll sock the bum." is a pretty good example), so I'm not quite sure what the real lyrics are.
**you know you have bag issues when you decided to bring TWO lanyards-the DISUnplugged and Universal one-on a five day trip.

My TA (Deb from The Magic For Less) got all my ADR's! Yay! However (you knew there was going to be a however), now that Free Dining has been extended (and I check some of the prices of the meals I'm eating at), I'm thinking I may jump on the offer. At Value resorts, it's free QS package (and I could upgrade to regular for $10 a night), and at mods I could get the regular dining package. I HAD asked Deb to price Pop preferred, but now I'm leaning towards CBR preferred.
Pop pros:
*One bus stop
*Cheap
*I liked it
*Near Epcot
Pop cons
*$10 surcharge
*Not new form me

CBR pros:
*New
*Close to Epcot
*Recently remodelled
Cons:
*I'm not in love with it, I'm kind of just trying to avoid ending up at POFQ (again).
(Lots of bus stops

Thoughts?

Hi Hedy,

Glad I found you right before you left...have a great trip to Universal. I'm also sorry to hear about your godmother's loss.

I'm no help with trying to decide where to stay as we love POFQ and always stayed there prior to our DVC. CBR just seems so huge and that it would take forever to get from point A to B..but maybe not if you were in perferred :confused3 See - told you I'd be no help!

Deb is the best, I think when we last used her for our trip I must have changed dates/hotels/and people at least five times. She was always able to get us the best deal.

Oh - and when you get back, can you let us know how the Disney Outlet was? We were kinda disappointed in it last trip (once we found it ;) ) so I'm hoping it'll be good this time around.

In other exciting news, a new LL Bean opened down the street from me this weekend. I am thrilled! I stopped by yesterday, as I had a $10 coupon from my Visa, and picked up a nice new travel towel (for drying off on water rides-believe it or not, neither the auto section at Target nor Autozone had any chamois) as well as some mad gabs balm which is now sold under LL Bean auspices.
Also, today I downloaded the Mousesavers POI onto my gps. It is awesome-there's everything you could need on there-I high recommend downloading it.

My impatience to get on my way to Orlando was kind of squashed by getting the news something was wrong with Isabelle. I debated cancelling my trip, but given the uck I've dealt with in the past few months, I knew I needed to get away. After a hug she had no interest in participating in, we headed off to Logan. We arrived without any issues, and I dropped off my bag at bag check. I headed off to the security check-I was a little nervous because it was my first time using a TSA approved laptop sleeve on my laptop-that was no issue. I was; however, a little boggled by the whole famiy/medical liquids line-I queued up in it as I had my contact stuff with me, but I was redirected to the normal line. My laptop case, went through fine-and I was fine wearing my socks through the check. I found my gate-the Cape air gates that were near gate 30 in December moved, I don't know if it's seasonal or not.
I was waiting next to a mother with two kids around 7. Kid 1 wanted to get headphones so she could listen to TV on the plane*. Mommy was unsure if we could use them again, she asked me and I sid they were normal headphones. Both kids got them with their own money (smart kids, if you ask me). Mommy also did not know JetBlue had TV's at your seat.
I boarded easily, and sat in my customary seat C, although I was in row 12. The flight went on without any hitches. I landed, and got out and started heading towards the baggage claim at which point I realized I had no clue where to get my luggage. I finally fund it, and dripping with sweat, went to the Mears counter, where I was told I'm have a 30 minute wait. I was so beat that I decided t heck with this and grabbed a cab.
The cab ride was only $40. I walked into a fairly empty hotel (insert grumbling about no one offering to help me with my bags) hich reminded me a lot of that other Polynesian hotel in Orlando. I rang the bell for service, and a great Employee named Wesley helped me out. I asked if there were any upgrades available, as I'm at the "Blue" level with them. He said there was a pool view, which he said he'd check on. Some typng later, he handed me my room keys....and a copy of the club level information. I got upgraded to club level. :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: I headed upstairs, popped my key into the slot to get to the seventh level, found my room, and went to bed.
*JetBlue headphones are now $2 if you don't bring your own (I just used my iPod earbuds). If you don't have your own, you might want to hit up Dollar Tree. However, I should point out that despite my repeated reminders of this issue to a certain nameless party I live with, she ended up needing to buy them.

But glad you had a little something extra to start your vacation - how great to be upgraded!

Remember the PTR part of this PTR? At Old Navy today I picked up this smocked top (http://www.oldnavyweekly.com/). It's aqua-er than it looks, but looks good enough. So I now have a shirt, and a navy skirt. I need to find a vest/corset and a bow. I also went to Sally Beauty* and looked at extensions. I found some cheap-ish ones-I may order them once I get my coupon for renewing my club card in the mail. I also got a couple of colored streaky ones, because I'm worried extensions could look mullet-y.
Also, Kouzinna looks good, so I'm going to swap my chefs de france ressie for that if I can.
Incidentally, being a DTD solidified many things for me. The joy I feel at seeing a Sassagoula ferry? I'm staying at the right place. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2
*Things I will never learn-there is no such thing as a one-item trip to Old Navy or Sally Beauty. Especially if I have a coupon.

I'm actually going to be home and not busy with guests this weekend, so hopefully a decent Universal or PTR update can occur soon. I went to WoD NYC for possibly the last time this weekend-and got a new I mickey NY lanyard, as well as pin trading for a bunch of the muppet wearing ears pins*. I paid my trip off in full yesterday (and now I love free dining, LOL, because my food is also paid for for the most part). I still need to order my MNSSHP ticket (I kind of spent the visa dollars I was going to use for it at WoD. Oops).
I'm inviting the godmother to join me to my F&W day on Saturday, so we hall see how that goes (poor thing was up here the past few weeks, all went well save for the dual ironies of a hurricane coming the day she was to spread her DH ashes off Nantucket (it was rescheduled, but the irony of coming from FL to have a hurricane in MA was not lost on us), as well as the day we were going up to the North shore of MA for her DH's memorial service being the day of Senator Kennedy's funeral, which made things interesting).
*In 2011 when I finish my Universal trip report, I shall tell you the story of IASW not just being a ride, as I learned via a CM at the outlets I was trading with

So, I ordered my MNSSHP ticket today over the phone. It's going to be will call, so let's hope my dad doesn't invite himself again (http://disboards.com/showpost.php?p=20812283&postcount=35). My confirmation includes part of my name, so we can only hope. I ordered a corset for the bodice part of my costume*. I'm hitting Joann's this weekend to get ribbon for my bow, and Sally's for those clippie things. I bought the lipstick and eyeshadow in this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cqamuwWHVRg) Youtube video. The lipstick looks a little too 80's/campy with the nude liner. It looks ok over a berry color, but as I have better plans for MNSSHP than reapplying my lipstick, I may go with a deeper red lipstick. I know it's red in the (http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://imagecache5.art.com/p/LRG/8/838/36YY000Z/kiss-the-girl.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.art.com/products/p10072444-sa-i838290/disney-kiss-the-girl.htm&usg=__fKcGiQoIgZuSHTJAyENEwUJuJys=&h=315&w=400&sz=18&hl=en&start=1&um=1&tbnid=XMD4ny-dkl8YnM:&tbnh=98&tbnw=124&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dkiss%2Bthe%2Bgirl%26hl%3Den%26rlz%3D1 B3GGGL_enUS334US334%26sa%3DG%26um%3D1) photos (http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2417/2514600841_1ccf1eb64a.jpg&imgrefurl=http://flickr.com/photos/7917567%40N07/2514600841&usg=__Qgm12wX-7pA2udty9TI5hrmtV64=&h=500&w=375&sz=160&hl=en&start=26&um=1&tbnid=ADdr5XB90uzIUM:&tbnh=130&tbnw=98&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dariel%2Bcharacter%2Bbreakfast%26ndsp% 3D20%26hl%3Den%26rlz%3D1B3GGGL_enUS334US334%26sa%3 DN%26start%3D20%26um%3D1)I'm going by, but I'd rather not look weird. Tangentally, I've decided against extensions, as I'm concerned it would look too mullet-y. I tried to do a hair trial run this evening and learned three things 1) If you own a cheapie flat iron, curling your hair with a flat iron is an urban legend, 2) That is not hair product on my curling iron, it is rust. So looks like I'll be picking one up at Sally Beauty as well.
It's finally clicking that I am going next month. This has been such a draining year I could so use the WDW therapy. I invited the godmother to join me the day I'm hitting up F&W fest.
I finished designing the shirts for mom's Alzheimer's walk (well, the back-I cheated and used Zazzle). I'm torn between just wearing one of their shirts, or seeing if someone on the DISigns board has an Alzheimer's disney shirt.
* When I asked if there were any rules regarding costumes to "Whisper," who took my call, she only said they had to be appropriate. And then she suggested I be comfortable. I was surprised, as I thought I might get the warning (http://disboards.com/showpost.php?p=21412848&postcount=438)

I awoke in my club room. I got dressed, in my customary Universal attire of a quick drying shirt and shorts, sunscreened myself up (I was using Avon's sunscreen with bug repellent, among other sunscreens, in hopes to avoid whatever my immune system did not like biting me-my foot remained normal size, so I guess it worked. Of course, then I got eaten alive by mosquitoes at work one night. :rotfl::rotfl: ), and headed off to the club lounge. After having a light breakfast of club level free fruit, club level free juice, and grabbing club level bottled water (I guestimated all four items at being about $12 together, if you were a family it could really work out well for you.) I headed to the club level elevator, and headed downstairs.
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2606/3799473668_bdcf25225f_m.jpg
Now, on the whole RPR beats the heck out of HRH, but it is a lot easier to find out how to walk from HRH to the parks than RPR. Once I got on my road; however, it was smooth sailing onto IOA. I exchanged my voucher for a pass at the front gates easily.
I then encountered my only traffic jam of people all week. It was opening time, and people were moving slowly. I noticed that Universal has ID kids for kids at the front gate for sale-seems like a good idea to me. I, however, needed no ID if I got lost, so I headed onto Marvel island. Now, now that Disney owns Marvel, I may be able to say this and not get smacked in the face. Spiderman? Best ride in Orlando. I'm sorry, but it is I popped in my earplugs, and went on. Today I was being good about my hydration rules (one bottle of something or other every hour, Coke only after two other drinks), so I sat down on a bench, started sipping a water and bang! My misty-mate banged to the ground and broke. I checked in with Mom, she was waiting test results on Belle. I walked onto Toon Lagoon, and headed onto Popeye. I went around once, got soaked, and stayed onto again. This was not good-as I was wet, I slid all over the seat. Not fun. I headed off, dried off with my handy-dandy towel, and resunscreened up. I stopped in th hatchery party of Jurassic part-see me as a dinosaur http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3422/3798658963_3438b4df24.jpg
While I'm looking forward to Harry Potter land (though I'm not a hardcore fan), I am very upset over the new Dueling Dragons entrance http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2496/3799475940_69cb502df5.jpg. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2651/3798659583_757c8712e1.jpg I then headed onto Seuss Landing...

Hello all. Things have been crazy arund these parts, but I wanted tp share the following:
1. Five weeks from today I will be in the MK:cool1::cool1::cool1:
2. I bought stuff to make a hairbow last weekend-once this weekend and its activities* are over, I will make it. I also bought a glow-in-the-dark wand (I got two light-up Mickey necklaces at the outlets in August-they were $4 each!) and a disney princess ring. I am trying to convince myself I don't need the princess treat bag/back sack I saw at Joann's. I also got a new curling iron, as well as a lip crayon at Sally's that will work (now I just need some time to do a hair and makeup trial run).
3. I'm ordering the shirts for mom mom's alzheimer's walk soon-I can't come up with a good Disney one, so I think I'll wear the same one from Zazzle they are getting, but I think I'll put the one in eight statistic on the back. I'm also planning on ordering a shirt with (http://s628.photobucket.com/albums/uu9/milliesky/Mickey%20Head%20Ribbons/?action=view&current=pinkribbonmh3.jpg)this logo.
4. I ordered the Vinylmation Mickey to use as an autograph book, as well as an aquarius** pin and an eeyore shirt from Disney shopping.
5. We saw Mickey and Minnie last weekend (they were at Jack and Sally's and we'd take the boys out). They enjoyed the trip a great deal, and loved AKV-this was their first time staying at Kidani. They did Goofy's candy co for the first time, and loved it. They liked Sannaa, had some slight drama there, but nothing strong enough for me to cancel the ADR, though I may pay OOP there as the desserts were not good, according to Minnie.
*Tomorrow, I am making balloon animals at a local town's fair for mom's soup kitchen.
**To quote my AIM profile in high school "I'm an Aquarius. I think it explains a lot"

1. One month from today I will be at MK! :cool1::cool1:
2. I dropped my keys at work and my keychain broke-I can't find a picture of it online, but it was a pink rhinestone purse with a hidden mickey I got at WoD NYC. :( Good thing I'm heading down there next month, right?
3. My docs came! They have luggage tags, and a planet Hollywood voucher*, as well as a 30 minute gift card to an ahcade (http://disboards.com/showpost.php?p=23718649&postcount=8). I also like that they included a photopass ticket. I'm not planning on getting the CD, but I may buy a few pictures after MNSSHP.
4. My corset arrived-I nailed the size (for over a shirt), but is a pain to get on and off-I'm planning on popping some velcro on it to aid things.

I love Seuss landing-I really think it may be one of the best themed areas. I rode the sneech ride-I liked the side I got this time-the side that goes through the restaurant. I also went on the Cat in the Hat ride. I wandered around the Lorax display, then headed out of the park.
Walking from IOA to UO is a nice walk, past the NBA zone, Hard Rock cafe, onto the entrance. I got in, and headed to Finnigan's, UO's Irish pub. I had the Finnegan's Potato and Onion Webb - A mountain of thinly sliced potatoes and onions, hand dipped in beer batter, crisply fried golden brown and served with malt vinegar. $5.95, as well as a cokewithnoice please (which had no ice-glory hallelujah!). I also got some nice Irish bread as well as apple butter. The meal was very good, and not much more than a counter service, especially with the AAA discount. I headed across the street to the Irish store-they had family crest mugs, but the names on the shelf did not have either spelling of my last name, nor mom's maden name-I found it interesting purely because while Mom's maiden name is fairly uncommon, my last name is dead common (at least the spelling we use); however, it is frequently thought of as being English. Whatever, it's Universal's loss, right? LOL
I had planned my trek to UO based on the Beetlejuice show. I popped in my earplugs, and got ready. I think this is one of the best shows at Universal Orlando. The music is good, the jokes are modern and funny (Twilight during a dracula bit, John and Kate plus 8)-I'd caught Beetlejuice on ABC family about a week before I left, while I liked it, I don't think it was necessary to enjoy the show. Also, please note that it is PG-13, I would have some reservations about having my nephews seeing it (13 and 9) due to some of the double entendres and costumes. Having seen that show, I headed over to MIB, and baited my breath for the lockers from heck...only to find that they were not giving me any problems. I boarded my vehicle, and tried to defeat the aliens. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2439/3799479334_fa25815c01.jpgThings I do not understand-why is it that the only ride that takes place in New York, is not in the New York set.:confused: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3551/3798662825_8060f68b25.jpg
I got in line for the Simpsons ride-I'm not a huge Simpsons fan, but this ride's snark level is hysterical. I popped into the outlet at the exit. I was thinking about hitting up happy hour at Pat O'Brien's, but Citywalk was closed for a party. I got in line by the water taxi to take that home for the evening. A water taxi came, and got filled out. I was behind a family with two kids, and two parents. The parents were being whiney, bratty and cranky, and the kids were mirroring that behavior. After waiting a bit, a TM came out to tell us that due to there being lightning within five miles, the boats were not operating. Ma and Pa Brat began flipping out. I headed over to Margaritaville, and grabbed a pedicab. It was now five-ish, there was a torch lighting ceremony at 8pm. I grabbed a light dinner at the club lounge-marinated veggies and rice, and a glass of wine. Beer and wine were free. I headed down to the pool. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3275/3798663349_035d3cc9e0_m.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3545/3799480298_53d24f805a.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3584/3798663107_44795a190d.jpgI liked the torch lighting ceremony-it was very well done. I poked around the pool-the splash area had wooden floors. Eek! I headed upstairs, and went to bed.

I had a lot of fun at the New England DISmeet today-we went to the Christmas Carol train tour, which was excellent, but not something I'd wait more than 30 minutes for (AKA, in my book, if I were taking kidlets I'd get there early).
I was reading Jaime/Tiggerbell's TR today, and I realized that I need to set aside a night to see Bob Jackson at POR (I've never seen him, I've only stayed a PO resort five times in the past 16 years). I'm leaning towards the first Saturday I'm there.

I also added some loops like in this (http://babesinhairland.blogspot.com/2008/10/halloween-hair-fancy-schmancy-princess.html) tutorial, to help keep my bow in place as well as add some details. People this it's unnecessary.

Um, OMG 8 days! I think I will start packing this weekend.* Random pre-trip shopping has occurred-I have attacked the local travel size departments more than once. I have a light-up wans, fans, and flashing Mickey pumpkin necklaces, but am debating picking up a tube of glow-y things as well. Additionally, I'm going to order my water from Staples today. I'm also at the tail end of a cold, which shuld fortify my immune system against the Disneyflu, and I will be bringing bug spray sunscreen to avoid to foot explosion. Incedentally, swine flu has turned the Magellan catalog into a germaphobes thrill ride. I may or may not have ordered some items. It's really sad I'm excited that my pre-Disney hydration plan starts tomorrow, right?
*BTW, did I ever mention that Lexie from my Vegas trip is currently staying with us? Some pre-trip stuff has fallen by the wayside due to her job hunting, relocating her cats temporarily until she finds an apartment, etc. More seriously, my box of stuff for this trip is in the back of her room. Thus, I will be attacking the packing project in the living room. OTOH, she's fairy-godmothering my corset, so I guess I can't complain. I haven't been able to try on my whole costume yet-I keep on having visions of something going horribly wrong and me rushing to find a costume at iParty or one of the gazillion Haloween stores nearby. Man, I'm going to miss when they close and I no longer drive by the grim reapers on my way to work.

OMG this time next week I will be at MK, eating at Crystal palace. Holy cow! I ordered my stuff from Staples-I ordered water (they no longer deliver Poland Spring to Florida, but at least it isn't Dansani :sick:), a refrigerator sized thing of cans of coke, hand soap and lysol wipes* I am planning on starting packing this weekend, as well as testing out my new video camera. This is crazy amount of silly, but I get really excited every time my phone goes off lately, as my text alert is, as always, the monorail spiel (however, to non-WDW people, it sounds like my phone is speaking in tongues), and my ringtone s (how seasonal) grim grinning ghosts.
*For my fellow germaphobes, Staples currently has a coupon for $5 off of $25 of flu prevention items if you order online.

:cool1::cool1::cool1:I leave TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!! :cool1::cool1:
AS you may remember, I invited my godmother to come visit on Saturday for F&W. She's declined, owing to wanting to keep up with her daily visits to her 103 year old mother*. However, the junk in her life isn't slowing down, which led to the following dinner coversation last night:
Heather: You know what helps that? Drinking around the world in Epcot.
Lexie: Drinking around the world?
Heather: Yepp, start in Mexico and work your way around.
Lexie: You can drink in the park?
Heather: Yepp, most countries have their own booze.
Mom: Last time I was there, I was with my daughter. She said "Let's go into Italy, they have wine samples. The guy poured me a thimble sized thing of wine and charged me $4!"
Lexie: You can drink there?
Heather: Yeah, evrywhere but the Magic Kingdom.
Lexie: I don't think drunk people around the animals would be good.
Mom: At Pleasure Island there was alcohol.
Heather: Yepp, but it's closed.
Mom: I never went there.
Heather: We went in '02.
Mom: Oh yeah, it was weird. I didn't like it.
Lexie: Are you planning to drink aorund the world>
Heather: Possibly.
*The woman is sharper than I am. Mom sent her somthing last month, she called our house to thank her, and had a very cordial conversation with her.

So...I'm going to stat on the October trip, as WDW TR's are more fun.
I was feeling a bit behind the 8 ball, as I had to stop at CVS* to get my makeup. I was annoyed, as I spent a decent amount of time and money on getting the makeup needed for this look (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cqamuwWHVRg), but I was able to pick stuff again quickly, with the only drama being my blush, as it had ben d/c'd. I headed home, and began packing. We were in the car by 4:40, and arrived at the Jet Blue terminal by 5:30pm. I'd had a touch of worry, as I could not find the strap to hook my carry-on to my suitcase, and the thought of lugging all three pices (suitcase, carry-on, tote) through MCO did not thrill me. I had seen one online at Brookstones-I saw a Brookstones near the check bag drop off, and they had it! I bought it, then I headed through security. It was fairly painless-my TSA approved laptop case and medical liquids were fine. I stopped at my traditional Johny Rocket's for dinner, then went to my gate. As I listened to podcasts, I was smiling at how you can always tell an Orlando flight by people's dress. We bordedthe plane. I was in my customary 7C. My rowmates were nice, but the dude in the middle seat couldn't remember what side his TV controls were on :headache:. There was one issue; however, they had no ABC, ergo no Grey's or Private Practice. :: I also asked for a Dunkin Donuts coupon I advertised, but it wasn't ginen to me :(.
I disembarked, and got my bag easily. I hooked my carry on onto the new hook, and headed off to DME. DME from terminal A with a suitcase is not a fun trek. However, I got in line, then waited on the bus for a bit. We were off on the bus. Once I reached POFQ, I went to the electronic check-in line-it was easy as anything. I was in building 7 (purportedly the furthest building at POFQ). I asked the cm about my water, it was at another location, but I could wait until morning for it (I opted to, as I was not enamored by the concept of waiting for my water). There was a Mickey Mouse towel on the bed, and I hopped into bed after requesting a wakeup call.
*This was about my third "last cvs run" before vacation. :lmao::lmao:

Hey there, Hedy!
Glad to see your TR is up and running!

I had to look up Rocket's. I've never heard of it. It reminds me of Steak and Shake but looks better.

It's good to know that you didn't have any problems at the on-line check in line. I'm going to do this on our trip. I hope I have the same good luck.

I bet CVS loves you!

Slight addendumsx2:
1. One the DME bus, I began crying twice. Once was pretty reflexive (we went to Saratoga Racetrack every year to see my late uncle, so some sniveling was expected) and one was a bit more complex. Suffice to say, this year I was reminded over and over again that a girl really ought to celebrate while she can, as you never know what tomorrow may bring. Like, our trip in ‘02 we didn’t know would be our last with my dad and grandmother.
2. Sorry for the delay-I had an ucky issue I finally got cleared up, with the only issue in the TR will be interrupting dinner at LeCellier. Once that cleared up, we went to NYC one weekend, then saw Guy Fieri, then Sharpay had her high school theatre debut….the excuses grow in my Word doc, let me tell you. Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving-we did! And congrats to the DisneyMSF household, who have gained a new nephew over the past week! The new update will be up soon.
3. As you may see from the ticker, plans are a-stewing. I booked the Key West cruise in 10/08, Mom was a maybe but is opting out (as she's going to Italy in May, poor baby...). The cost for just me is a beast, but I'm deluding myself that the cost may go down. If that doesn't happen, I booked myself on the Podcast cruise 2.0 (I was booked on 1.0, but cancelled due to not wanting to leave mom alone on Mother's day)! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Do any other OTP’s suddenly headdesk when they’re in WDW? As I was desperately trying to convince myself to go to sleep, I was pondering taking a cab to Crystal Palace the next morning. Then it occurred to me-BAM! You can’t take a cab to the MK-duh.
I must somehow have fallen asleep, because my phone started ringing. Stitch informed me there was no more sleeping! I got myself together, then I headed off to the main building of POFQ. It was close enough to my ADR at CP, that I knew a cab would be a god idea. There were two chipper cast members asking where I was off to, and they gave me a MK map. I saw the bellhop who took me to my room the night before, who told me my package was now at POFQ. Incidentally, these events made me smile to myself and say ”There’s no place like home.“ I got a cab, and took it to the CR.
BLT really blends into the CR nicely. http://lh5.ggpht.com/_g7TJgB9U4yc/SvTX7bYXYlI/AAAAAAAAABc/B1jh_Ut_pFU/s640/016.JPG
I walked to the MK, and got into MK easily, I wasn’t asked for my confirm number. Walking into a nearly-empty MK? Best thing ever. http://lh6.ggpht.com/_g7TJgB9U4yc/SvTX89kG4GI/AAAAAAAAABw/e59t47_StUc/s640/020.JPG http://lh5.ggpht.com/_g7TJgB9U4yc/SvTX-ZNTshI/AAAAAAAAACA/WauR51whov8/s640/024.JPGI waited a bit for my name to be called at CP. I was seated, and got to my seat. My waitress was great. I propped up Mickey (incidentally, pre-buying Mickey was my smartest move-if I ever take him again, he’s getting a harness to attach to my lanyard.) http://lh3.ggpht.com/_g7TJgB9U4yc/SvTX_PMG-mI/AAAAAAAAACI/uLC5jl-uVeQ/s512/026.JPG I was about to have Mickey try on my Red Sox hat and sunglasses, when Piglet arrived. Piglet was charming as always (although I felt like a smart aleck comment about bacon would be well-placed at this point), Piglet also pointed to my camera, and asked the mom at the next table to take our picture, which she did. http://lh6.ggpht.com/_g7TJgB9U4yc/SvTX_ymWF7I/AAAAAAAAACQ/jva83zqZ7SQ/s640/028.JPG I headed off to the main attraction-the food. There was a decent selection of cheese, pancakes, grits, biscuits, waffles (including chocolate) and quinoa porriage. Now, I love quinoa, and I was very excited to see it, as it’s a completye protein, and as I was eating at ‘Ohana that night, getting protein out of the way was good. I had missed Eeyore while I was up (I found CP much more efficient than PF in terms of getting characters out an about). I met the other characters, and ate some more.
I headed out to the park, which was just beginning to fill up. http://lh3.ggpht.com/_g7TJgB9U4yc/SvTYCY-p45I/AAAAAAAAACo/hnPMzHgQJDU/s640/034.JPG I knew I needed to be at Pixie Hollow as soon as it opened at 10am, but figured I had some time. I wandered about, skiping Splash Mountain as I wanted to be not wet for my photo with Tink. I started heading towards Toontown, then decided that a ride on the HM would be a wonderful way to start off a Halloween trip.
Once I got off the HM, I headed towards Toontown. http://lh5.ggpht.com/_g7TJgB9U4yc/SvTYC_Zl-MI/AAAAAAAAACs/2hg7Ys66Xhk/s640/035.JPG The Fantasyland re-do is already going on. It was now going to be a 60 minute wait for Pixie hollow. I got in line…
Would this be a Disney overestimate of the wait?

Hope all my are having a happy, healthy new year. I feel like 2009 was a pile of stink for most everyone I know, so here's hoping 2010 is better! I also booked a room at the Swan (oh yeah, like that's going to last-LOL) for before my cruise in December. :)
{Warning, part of this is an adult in the parks vent. If you think that the parks are only for kids, I have no idea why you are reading this TR}
So I waited. And waited. I amused myself for a bit with the college aged girls in front of me-tattooed to the hilt, hipster haired, and waiting to meet Tinkerbell. We were going nowhere fast. I called my godmother, who commented it was loud where I was. I waited some more. I found myself wishing I’d brought my iPod with me to the parks. I especially wished this after about 20 minutes, when the parents of the princesses behind me began grousing about all the adults in line in front of them, and why were they there. I chose to ignore it, as I’m sure she wouldn’t have enjoyed me suggesting that they go to a park which only has kiddie met and greets, or pointing out that I paid more for my ticket than their darlings. I waited some more. After over an hour, we were shrunk to “pixie-size” and got free coin purses due to the new Tink movie. I met Silvermist, who concluded that I was a flower fairy, due to the flowers on my Eeyore shirt. I then met the main pixie, who looked disturbingly like Kristen Bell. We had a nice chat and took some pictures. I met the flower fairy last. http://lh5.ggpht.com/_g7TJgB9U4yc/SvTYFR37j_I/AAAAAAAAADE/V9Ckp1j7mt4/s640/040.JPGThe Photopass guy did not have the fairy wings capacity, which irked me. I headed out of pixie hollow, and grabbed a Fastpass for Splash mountain. I saw the Celebrate street thingy, which I liked. I went on Pirates, and was then utterly underwhelmed by the Pirate’s League (although I think the pirate princess costume is one of the cooler ones sold in parks). I wandered about (is there anything, in the world, nicer than wandering about the MK? I think not) And got a Dole Whip Float-this was kind of my Dole Whip Float for Bawb, so I sat and pondered Boston accents and the like. I headed onwards to TomorrowLand-I did Monster’s Inc. Laugh Floor-they updated the jokes. I then boarded the TTA-it’s about the same. http://lh6.ggpht.com/_g7TJgB9U4yc/SvTYIg5juTI/AAAAAAAAADs/ajd5-LblQ30/s640/050.JPGI wandered some more, got a cream cheese pretzel (yummy!) I browsed in the Emporium-I was looking for a ribbon bracelet like AGPrincess had, but I couldn’t find one I liked. I also saw a Disney World nightgown I liked, which I am wearing as I type this :). I headed out of the MK, and onto the bus.
The bus ride was uneventful. I got off, and walked towards my room. You know how the big pro (for me) of POFQ over POR is that it only has one busstop? Con-you have to walk to your room further than at POR, if you are in room seven. I bought a refillable mug-I’ll dive more into this later, but I would not get a mug again if I were on the DDP. I headed to my room, called for my water, and called my mom. Mom was doing as well as could be expected-she was in the small town where her father grew up and they summered when she was younger. My uncle was buried there, and she was checking on some stuff with that. My water arrived. I had also bought a twelve pack of coke, which was jostled, but in good order (a few cans did require me using a rat-tail comb to open, though). I got ready-true to the weirdo I am, I had bought my ‘Ohana shirt months ago. http://lh3.ggpht.com/_g7TJgB9U4yc/SvTYKE-qGsI/AAAAAAAAAEA/nd6RUzmR4kA/s640/055.JPG I put my pens and little Disney Card games I’d bought for the meetup in my purse, and headed out. I’d but some glow fans at HSN, but they were not working, nor were my light-up hair extensions from the Christmas Tree Shops, so I settled for my Mickey Pumpkin necklace.
Now, two things you need to know: 1. I am obsessively early. It started with me being born on January 30 when I was due on St. Patrick’s Day, and hasn’t stopped. 2nd-What I’m like on the internet-what I’m like in real life. So I got to the Poly at 5ish for a 6pm meet up at the pool. I figured I’d rather roam around the Poly, than in my room. I had a very important mission-I’d been calculating my OT that week at work in alcoholic beverages-I wanted a Lapu Lapu. In search of my Lapu Lapu, I picked one up at the Tambu Lounge and walked it down to the pool bar. http://lh6.ggpht.com/_g7TJgB9U4yc/SvTYKv2vKTI/AAAAAAAAAEE/s79nicRWJrA/s640/056.JPG (If you know me IRL, this is a much funnier story-only I would be genuinely worried about not getting a Lapu Lapu at the pool bar) If you ever want to spark conversations at WDW, carry a Lapu Lapu from the bar (2nd floor) to the pool (first floor). I headed to the Volcano pool-why is this such a big deal-it’s kind of a lousy pool, IMO. I waited, drank my Lapu Lapu and waited. It was after 6, so I texted a few people, who said they ere going to be late. They finally showed up, and we chatted. We were seated at Ohana around 7ish. Now, as much a I made remarks about “meat on a stick-yay!”, I did like O’hana (the tofu and rice I had were great). http://lh4.ggpht.com/_g7TJgB9U4yc/SvTYOQ2WzGI/AAAAAAAAAEs/X0pzsG6gB4U/s640/066.JPG My two big hang ups were a)there was no vegetarian appetizer, and b) it wasn’t worth my cost for what I got. Also, if you remember the episode of the DISUnplugged where Kevin and John go to ‘Ohana-yes, the woman does look like a female impersonator. We all received leis, which were apparenty scented with VS Love Spell. The lights were dimmed and I saw Hallowishes with the music piped in-AWESOME. Some f us hung out some more in the lobby, and saw an older couple dressed as Mary Poppins and Bert walk by (it was a MNSSHP night)-cutest thing ever. I monorailed it back to the MK, and got on the bus home to POFQ.

First off I want to say I think we'd get along famously and should, at some point in life, go to WDW...or maybe dinner in the city, at the very least. LOL

I am also retardedly early for everything and always mad because everyone else is late!

I wish Ohana was as good as it used to be, but it's not. It was a staple of our trips before. Oh well.

Great update, can't wait to hear about the meet.

Silly as it sounds, when there was a chance my family was spending a night at POR in '08, I really excited that they might get to see"my" resort.

Sorry for the lack of updates. Please know you all are filtering my subconcious-i had a dream that Kathy had finished her TR, and I was mad at myself because I have neither a spouse not kids to keep me from DISing. My update is coming soon.
Anyway, January 30th was my 26th birthday! We went to NYC. WE saw A Little Night Music (with Angela Lansbury and Catherine Zeta-Jones), Hair, and I did the backstage tour at Wicked (this was AWESOME!). We ate at Planet Holywood, Gobo (a vegetarian erstaurant in the Village), Pershing Square. The new Disney store is going to be near Planet Hollywood-AND there's going to be a MAC (makeup) store right there too. w00t! (not my bag, but there's also going to be a huge Forever 21 too.)
I'm currently counting down to next Friday, we are taking the boys to see The Lion King! We saw it in 2005, but it was 1 month after my dad died-not exactly a good time to see The Lion King. I'm also looking forward to the first weekend in March-I'm going to the AAA travel expo (to get free stuff!), and then probably seeing Alice in Wonderland (1. Why is it I only go to the movies alone when Mom is out of town? 2. Why is it when I go alone I see such adult films as Up and The Princess and the Frog (which made me miss POFQ something fierce)),

The next morning, Stitch informed me there was no more sleeping. I got dressed (Mickeyhead breast cancer ribbon shirt-I got the pattern on the DISigns board, and had printed up from VistaPrint, skirt with grey leggings, and Mickey crocs). I put on sunscreen*. I filled my refillable mug up with Coke, and took the bus to the park. Waiting to get into Epcot before rope drop wasn’t bad at all. http://lh4.ggpht.com/_g7TJgB9U4yc/S3VuzBJO3gI/AAAAAAAAAR0/xFfg_VlLiuA/s576/069.JPG I joined the herds in heading to Soarin’. The little aviator next to me was taking his first flight, and was very excited. I snickered a bit-they advised that only people under the triangle height should use the leg loop. (My nephew Mordie, who was 12 on our last trip, buckled himself in for extra safety/persnickety-ness). Our flight was safe.
I then crossed over to Test Track. Being in Future World made me miss the boys-many moons ago (2003), the Skeleton family holiday picture was of Mordie and Ferdie in the TT queue. Mordie is play-choking his brother with a silly face, Ferdie is smirking. Fortuitously, there were no fools who had problems with the “Single Rider” line. I love Test Track…even the smell of corrosion. I added my ride pic to my PhotoPass**, and I stopped quickly to get a pressed penny for my dad’s grave. I then headed off to see my BFFigment. As usual, one could easily walk-on it. I got off, and browsed in the gift shop.
I then headed over to Nemo. I rode the ride, then wandered about Future World a bit. I noticed that World Showcase was now open, AKA-Food time!!
*Things to know, 1-I am a self-proclaimed sunscreen hard ball. I wear sunscreen every day. 2. On this particular trip, I was using Avon’s Skin so soft sunscreen (after my 12/07 trip, my left foot got really swollen, it was attributed to my immune system not liking a bug bite or plant on my trip).
**My photo pass CD has been eaten by the same monster that ate my Halloween makeup.

I entered World Showcase for the first time during Food and Wine festival. My first stop was, suitably enough, at the Mouse Trap for cheese. The cheese was quite good.http://lh4.ggpht.com/_g7TJgB9U4yc/S3Vu1-ArnFI/AAAAAAAAASI/ozq8zaCTK9o/s576/074.JPG *http://lh3.ggpht.com/_g7TJgB9U4yc/S3Vu1dqQtdI/AAAAAAAAASE/tlfyUOoMXXI/s512/073.JPG I then entered Mexico, hoping to check out the Cava (for those of you who don't know, part of my junior year of college was spent in Oaxaca, Mexico. As a result, I'm kind of prissy about Mexican food and drink. Oh, and those alebrijes that they sell at the entrance to the pavilion? I used to pass by them being sold on the street for a fraction of what it costs in the USA). Holy avocado margarita! The line to get into the Cava, which didn't open for another half hour, was almost out the door. I headed out of there, and stopped at the Indian kiosk-the pancake was really good. http://lh3.ggpht.com/_g7TJgB9U4yc/S3Vu3Fk9zVI/AAAAAAAAASU/ww49uat17WA/s576/076.JPG I stopped in Norway. The line was short enough that I was able to go on Maelstrom. I wasn't able to go on it in '07 or '08, and I really like it. In addition to it just being fun, my dad loved it, so weird as it sounds I kind of feel close to my dad on it. I got out, and paused to breathe in the scent of Laila (note-you can get a Laila perfume +lotion samples for $2 on Laila.com. Silly as it sounds, I sniff mine sometimes to bring me to Epcot in my mind). I also noticed some Baekgaard accessories. I later saw then at Tren-D later that week. I'm probably being foolishly optimistic, but maybe this means Disney is looking to work with Vera Bradley again*. I headed onto China. Remember when I was calculating my overtime in drinks? I had a frozen plum wine calling my name in China. It was yummy.
In Germany, I popped briefly into the stores-I debated getting an Oktoberfest gingerbread, but decided to hold off. I also took a quick glanc around at the candy-I wanted to pick something up for my German/UK native coworker. I then headed off to Italy. http://lh3.ggpht.com/_g7TJgB9U4yc/S3Vu4EvdIaI/AAAAAAAAASY/lLxrXMfcH7g/s576/077.JPG
*The nailpolish in this shot is China Glaze's Atlantis, which I got free as a BOGO at Sally's right before I left. I though it looked really Ariel-y. I also did the Mickeys on my thumbnails.

Right, so I was about to enter Italy. As we all know, that means I had one thing on my mind; Rosa Regale. Rosa Regale is my favorite wine of all time (and sold hardly anywhere near me). I got my required glass+chocolate, and headed onwards. I grabbed the cannelloni at the F&W booth-it was really good, bot too dry or chewy. I kept on walking, and enjoyed how unbusy World Showcase felt. I stopped to browse the merchandise. Was I the only person who thought that this year’s F&W fest logo reminded them of Alton Brown’s Mad French Chef? http://www.goodeatsfanpage.com/Season2/Mushroom/2008-11-02_143119.jpg Unfortunately, they did not have any of my banner messenger bags. Boo. I continued onto the USA-the stage was getting set for Taylor Dayne that night. I approve heartily of the Red Sox swag in the gift shop, not so much the other unfortunate team. http://lh6.ggpht.com/_g7TJgB9U4yc/S3Vu5p4m3pI/AAAAAAAAASk/1RpZ_cpTVGw/s512/080.JPG I reached Japan-I browse briefly at the Hello Kitty spot, then headed on. I met Jasmie and Aladdin in Morocco. I was having difficulty with my sharpie, but the handler helped me. I got a falafel, which was the only F&W yech of the trip. I looked up-it had suddenly turned into OMG The People why did I got on a Saturday, so I returned to Future World. I wanted to go on the new ride at Interventions, the Sum of All Thrills. I was all game to go on there, but the CM suggested I try the ride test seat a booth over. I was very glad I did. Now, I’m a fat girl, but I am able to ride all WDW rides comfortably. I was smooshed in this vehicle. So I headed onto the Visa Meet and Greet. I met with Mickey and Pluto.
I then circled back to the International Gateway. I fell in love with Kouzzinna at first sight-see how cute it is? http://lh6.ggpht.com/_g7TJgB9U4yc/S3Vu7b9HOGI/AAAAAAAAAS0/e7dsTsfpBQ8/s576/084.JPG http://lh3.ggpht.com/_g7TJgB9U4yc/S3Vu7zEi69I/AAAAAAAAAS4/qIJ1AEVWNb8/s576/085.JPGI really hope I don’t offend any readers, but I think it’s really cool that Disney is promoting the “family,” aspect of Cat Cora’s restaurant, given that Cat has a wife. I was seated. The hostess asked me if I had heard of Cat Cora. I resisted the urge to make a snarky comment about Food Network being one of the few things I love as much as Disney. I was able to see the kitchen. I’m not usually an appetizer kind of girl, but the goat cheese stuffed grape leave sounded too good to miss-it was great! http://lh6.ggpht.com/_g7TJgB9U4yc/S3Vu-vd62EI/AAAAAAAAATU/HNvX2g68cy4/s576/091.JPG I also had a smoothie (DDP includes specialty drinks like that. IMO it kept me from having a really clear price comparison, as they drove up my meal costs, but they were yummy). My vegetarian option was good, although I had kind of a wait for it (they said it took a bit to cook-I attribute me being told after the fact to Kouzinna being relatively new). http://lh3.ggpht.com/_g7TJgB9U4yc/S3Vu_M15SsI/AAAAAAAAATY/tPPO3p3wInQ/s576/092.JPG I finished with the baklava, which was also good. I poked around the Boardwalk a bit, then boated it back to Epcot. I was not staying for Illuminations in that crowd. I took my time exiting the park-I stopped in MouseGears again. I returned home and went to bed. After all, I had to ride TSM and become in princess the next day. I did; however, call my mom. She was in NYC with her Bff’s for the walk. She wanted Sharpay’s cellphone number, as she was turning 15 the next day and we were missing her party.

I am further convinced that we need to get together in NYC sometime! I am a foodtv junkie. Kouzzina looks really good and the food sounds yummy!

There is ONE liquor store that has Rosa Regale near us, i LOVE it too! If we ever do get together I will bring you a bottle!

Please know you all are filtering my subconcious-i had a dream that Kathy had finished her TR, and I was mad at myself because I have neither a spouse not kids to keep me from DISing.

:lmao: As if!

Happy belated birthday! :cake: Sounds like you had a fantastic time!

I put on sunscreen*.

I am very proud of you!

I stopped quickly to get a pressed penny for my dad’s grave.

That is sweet. :flower3:

Sounds yummy!

Sorry for the delay-the blog launch has kept me busy!
I was woken up by Stitch. I got ready. I’d been kind of up in the air about what to do with my hair, as I knew I was curling it that night-I ended up going with two braids. I was wearing my Carl t-shirt, in honor of the Alzheimer’s Walk my mom was doing. I shot a quick “Happy Birthday!” text to Sharpay, and headed over to the Sassagoula Floatworks Factory. I soon discovered a downside to the DDP-beignets don’t count as a breakfast entrée. I had a Mickey Waffle, and my mumbling was soon quelled by the fact that Smart Water (which contains nice migraine-fighting electrolytes) counts as a beverage on the DDP. I ate my waffle, filled up my mug with Coke, and headed out to the bus station. I also saw Edith, for the first time this trip-she's a fixture at POFQ.
I was going to DHS today, And would be riding TSM for the first time. I got to DHS, and waited to get into the park. There were people looking for people to audition for American Idol. It kept me amused. Then we got to go into the studios, and were waiting to be set to run to the TSM queue. A streetmosphere character counted down, and we were off. http://lh5.ggpht.com/_g7TJgB9U4yc/S3VvDxoEogI/AAAAAAAAAUA/HspAONyBPmU/s640/102.JPG
There were a couple of Green Army Men poking around Pixar Place. This pleased me, as my first year in college, my facewall colleage included a picture me with a Green Army Man, which was among the film photos I had with me. That’s right kids, when I started college our facewall was a piece of paper. Darn kids, get off my lawn. Mumble mumble mumble. I grabbed a Fastpass, then went to quickly use the facilities. The point of that was not my obnoxious need to over-share with the Internet. Really. Point is, I went in, came out, and the Fastpass wait time went up 15 minutes.
I got in line to wait. http://lh3.ggpht.com/_g7TJgB9U4yc/S3VvFd50xFI/AAAAAAAAAUQ/ERhjwYVM4ks/s640/106.JPGI saw Luxo Jr (w00t!), and listened to my iPod-I was listening to audio from Rikki’s trip on the Be Our Guest Podcast. The queue moved slowly, but orderly. Rikki was chatting about the grilled cheese at the Poly. Once I got inside, I really liked the theming. http://lh3.ggpht.com/_g7TJgB9U4yc/S3VvJw9iASI/AAAAAAAAAU4/8xuKqyREbUM/s640/116.JPG This photo has a reminder of why my current job is a gazillion times better than my old one. I may frame it. I find the upstairs/downstairs thing annoying, though. I got my glasses and boarded my car…
Would I find TSM to be over-hyped?

We are always at TSMM early in the morning or with Fastpasses, but I would like to go through slowly on time just to get better pictures. Like, for instance, I'd like to get the individual frames of this. I might go through the line sometime and just let people pass me up so I can get a lot of good pictures. You think they'd believe me if I said I wasn't going to ride, but I was just there to take pictures? I want to do the same thing with Everest - I have only ridden once, with a Fastpass, no good queue pictures. :sad2:

:rotfl::rotfl:I'm working on my next part, I promise. however, I figured I'd point out that I have no self-control (I bleieve the term I used when I told my mother is "The least surprising announcement of the year"), I'm going to Universal in August. I decided after having Belle's illness last year, I deserve a re-do. Plus, if I'm going with Mordie and Ferdie in 2011, I should preview it for them, right?

I LOVED TSM-I thought it was fun, clever, and well done. Given how much the ride is themed to Andy’s room, I’m wondering what Toy Story 3 will do to it. I had some time until my Fastpass was up, so I went over to ToT. There was a 13 minute wait, so I grabbed a RnR Fastpass and rode. There was a HUGE family in front of me who were taking a bit to be put in place. I’m sure the fact that I won’t go on Snow White or Dinosaur, but I love ToT, says something about me. I’m ok with that. My Fast Pass for RnR was ready, so I headed over there. As I was standing in line, I realized my iPod was in my pocket. I quickly moved it to my baggalini. The person I was riding next to liked my Carl shirt. I strolled through the RnR dump shop. I had seen a unique bracelet outside the RnR gift shop that I though my mother might like. Somehow, this scene ends with me dropping my TSM Fastpass. :(

I headed over to the animation building, where I got to meet Carl (who loved my shirt), Dug, and Junior. An American Idol show was about to start, so I went over. I’ve never watched an episode of American Idol, but I really liked the show. It felt like it was back to the days of SuperStar television at MGM (I was picked to be on it in ‘93 as Ginger, and in ‘96 as someone on Letterman)-seeing your co-guests up on stage performing. Our contestants were a teenage girl, who sang “This is Me,” a mom in football jersey, who sang “hit me with your best shot,” and a guy I’m pretty certain was a plant (he was a “secret agent.” I thought the judges were good, if a little asinine. My personal favorite was the teenage girl (she reminded me of Sharpay). One of the judges was talking about how appropriately she was dressed. A t-shirt and denim short shorts* seems like pretty standard “I’m in a theme park” wear for a fifteen-ish year old girl, and not that amazing, right? The other critique was that her voice was too choral? IMO, that could have been do-able if she went on. But the Mom won, and I headed out to more of DHS.
It was lunch time, and after lunch I had to return to my room to transform myself into Ariel. I had originally planned on lunch at Beaches and Cream, but once I had done free dining, I didn’t think it was worth a TS credit. I pondered DHS’ counter service options, gagged a little, and was about to have lunch at POFQ. Then a thought came to me. That grilled cheese Rikki was talking about at Captain Cook’s sounded good. Why not hop a bus to the Poly, and have that. And so I did. And this is one of the many times when I wonder if I’m a Massive Weirdo, because the whole “Let’s have a CS meal at some random resort!” idea mainly was lubricated by the DDP-a counter service credit was a counter service credit, after all. I got the grilled cheese (tasty), chips (homemade), with a dole whip for dessert. Life was good. I briefly debated calling the Evanses to nanner nanner that I just had a Dole Whip, I mean see how the party was going., but decided against it. I popped onto the monorail to the MK, and noticed my legs were looked a little pink. Given the fact that the last time what I thought was Epcot rash was a weird autoimmune thing, I flipped out a bit.
My phone rang, it was my mother. The walk had gone well, they loved the shirts I’d ordered them. I told her to tell her friend I was wearing my Carl shirt. “Did you call Sharpay?“ I informed my mother I’d texted her. “I’m so mad at myself,” Mom continued, “I left her a message, wishing her a happy fourteenth birthday.” “Maybe she’ll miss that part?” I suggested. “It gets worse-I put it on the card I sent her, too. I’m not living this down, am I?” “Well,” I pointed out, “How would you react if someone said that to you when you were turning fifteen?” Mom was off to have dinner with her friends, so I was left giggling on the bus alone. We reached POFQ, and I headed into my room.

LOL seems funny that they would comment on how contestants are dressed... what do they expect people to wear on Tot and R&RC??

I think that if you want to hop to a resort for a CS lunch then, why not? That's one of the perks of going solo!

Can't wait to see you as Ariel...

I returned home to POFQ, And headed into my room. My costume was ready to go. The easy part had been finding the dark blue skirt and light blue shirt. Even making my bow wasn’t hard. However, getting my corset ready at home was a royal pain. I thought I could just sew hooks or Velcro on it (this is one of the few cons to going solo-I had the feeling wandering around POFQ looking for someone to lace up my corset would not be popular). Turned out there was metal boning in the corset-thank goodness Lexie was there to be my fairy godmother, or who knows what would have happened. So: skirt-on! Blouse-on! Corset-on! Curling iron was plugged in and getting hot. I curled my hair, clipped it up, and then went to my accessories. I’d bought an Ariel dogtag at the late WoD in NYC, and I put that on. I also had an ariel ring from Dollar Tree-Ariel popped off it, so I grabbed some nail polish to stick it on. The dad in My Big Fat Greek Wedding had Windex, I have nail polish.
I fixed my hair I used bobbly pins to hold it up-I used the ones from Sally’s in the box, and they held all night! I popped on my bow.http://lh5.ggpht.com/_g7TJgB9U4yc/S3VvP_io83I/AAAAAAAAAVs/Rf-x_nESSDY/s640/128.JPGhttp://lh3.ggpht.com/_g7TJgB9U4yc/S3VvRfEQfOI/AAAAAAAAAV4/7iTOSKoxuqg/s512/131.JPGhttp://lh3.ggpht.com/_g7TJgB9U4yc/S3VvTSio9sI/AAAAAAAAAWI/oBNJgW9QX2Y/s512/135.JPG
My makeup was a bit of a gamble. My foundation was fine, my eyes were fine, my blush was not the one I’d practiced with, so that was a little dicey, but turned out fine. As I was reaching for my lipstick, my compact with my eyebrow powder went crashing to the ground and broke everywhere. However, I figured I could clean it later. I grabbed the stuffed crab I’d gotten at Joann’s, my backsack, and hit the road.
Although I wasn’t in a gown or anything, I felt very conspicuous as I traipsed through POFQ. I caught the bus-there was a HUGE family in MNSSHP shirts-very cute. We arrived at the MK.
I got my candy bag, and made a beeline for Ariel’s Grotto. Actually first I got some pics at the castle, where I made a Discovery. Ok, you know how when you see pictures of Kim Kardashian how sticks her you-know-what out? Wearing a corset does that to you.
I got in line for Ariel. I noticed despite everything I did the day before, my calf was blotchy. I waited for Ariel. My phone buzzed. It was a Tweet from MagicalJenK (we knew we were going to be at the same party, but had to plans to meet). She had just seen Shaq walking around Tomorrowland. I felt a little awkward walking up to Ariel in costume, but I did so…http://lh6.ggpht.com/_g7TJgB9U4yc/S3VvUyFRxUI/AAAAAAAAAWU/co1uk_aI0LA/s512/138.JPGhttp://lh4.ggpht.com/_g7TJgB9U4yc/S3VvVMUWz8I/AAAAAAAAAWc/wXG5_XIAtFA/s640/139.JPG
And she screamed! She asked If I were Vanessa, once I assured her I was not we chatted. I headed off to Tomorrowland, but didn’t see Shaq. I saw a bunch of clever costumes-a Peter Pan family, a Wizard of Oz family, three young women wearing sunglasses, white canes and mouse ears. Later in the night I saw a great Esmerelda-I kind of wanted to congratulate her or somethng. I think "God Help the Outcasts (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MEEpavnk7Uw)" is one of the best Disney animations ever-with the Rose Window. I also saw a Mary Poppins and Giselle about my age that were so good I almost thought they were official. However, looking at Giselle in all her skirts, I was glad to be Ariel sans fins and not Giselle. I posed by the carriage. If I could find my photo pass CD, there would be a picture here with some flip comment about if you can make me get near this again, my PM box is open ;). There was a Pinocchio made of duct tape-brilliant. http://lh5.ggpht.com/_g7TJgB9U4yc/S3VvXzAUfTI/AAAAAAAAAWw/WMjo06HKQvw/s640/144.JPG I headed over to the haunted mansion, and got some photos there.
I’d picked up a light up wand at Dollar Tree, and decided to activate it. The star kind of went flying. Oops. I got some candy, then did character meets while the first parade happened. I also stopped by a couple of dance parties.
I saw the Villans show (awesome!), fireworks (same!) and the parade. Oh Em Gee, the Gravedigger drill team was the greatest thing ever. http://lh6.ggpht.com/_g7TJgB9U4yc/S3VvZVZ_rbI/AAAAAAAAAW8/tMe0ShK6PHU/s640/147.JPGhttp://lh3.ggpht.com/_g7TJgB9U4yc/S3VvlztetbI/AAAAAAAAAYs/Cnl1CI3cS2U/s640/174.JPGhttp://lh5.ggpht.com/_g7TJgB9U4yc/S3VvpygULMI/AAAAAAAAAZM/p-wgRyJ9zO8/s640/182.JPGhttp://lh5.ggpht.com/_g7TJgB9U4yc/S3VvpygULMI/AAAAAAAAAZM/p-wgRyJ9zO8/s640/182.JPGhttp://lh3.ggpht.com/_g7TJgB9U4yc/S3VvwdRgl8I/AAAAAAAAAaQ/AZ4MGUtmI8g/s640/198.JPG
I decided to call it a night-and left the park to find massive buckets of candy! I filled up and headed home. http://lh5.ggpht.com/_g7TJgB9U4yc/S3Vv4qDp5mI/AAAAAAAAAbk/rMw1eJL0TW8/s512/218.JPGI took off my make up, took down my hair, and hit the hay.

I woke up at 8amish on Monday. I’d planned on heading to DTD today so I could sleep; however, the sky was pretty foreboding looking. As I wanted to go to Characters in flight, I thought the clouds were a bad sign. I mentally mussed around in my head the options, and decided to go to AK. I showered, called housekeeping not to come, as my mess from the night before was still there, and called Disney Dining to arrange the Sanaa ADR to be moved. The earliest they had was 1pm, and I had a reservation that evening at LeCellier. I figured I’d show up when it suited me, and if they couldn’t seat me I’d go to Mara (I had one more ADR than table service credit). I hopped aboard the AK bus, which was surprisingly empty, given it was an EMH day.
I was surprised to see how un-busy AK was. My plan was to grab a fast pass for the Safari, then hit the single-rider line of EE. I grabbed my FP, but headed over to EE to find it down. There was a Finding Nemo show, which I saw. I love that they kept the lobsters in-they’re wicked awesome. I then went to Primeval Whirl, which I like. I headed back to my safari, where I saw a good amount of animals. EE was still down, so I headed out of the park.
I did a ticket survey on my way out of the park. I hopped on the bus to AKL, and headed to Kidani. I’m sorry, but I do consider AK to be a half-day park. Given that I’m afraid of birds, and I’m never riding Dinosaur again, there’s just not that much for me there.
I really liked Kidani Village-I think it’s a lot more attractive than Jambo house. I headed down to Sanaa. http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/wFBr_quoBir4Dx6ELh6H4g?feat=directlink http://lh6.ggpht.com/_g7TJgB9U4yc/S3Vv7yZJxMI/AAAAAAAAAcI/7R8zMdwsINw/s640/226.JPGDespite being two hours early for my ADR, I was able to be seated. (The restaurant was empty. I have no clue what Dining Dining was smoking that morning). I requested the vegetarian menu. http://lh5.ggpht.com/_g7TJgB9U4yc/S3Vv6FObVbI/AAAAAAAAAb0/y6xTki36_co/s640/222.JPG Now, restaurant gods hear this: there is no easier way to endear your restaurant to Heather than to have a vegetarian menu. Keep me from playing the “what’s in the cheddar cheese soup” game, and unless your vegetarian menu is mushroom steamed in Dansani over mixed greens, you have a fan in me ;0. I ordered a cokewithnoice please. I got the vegetarian platter with the paneer and spinach, 5 grain pilaf and stewed lentils. Now, I’d gone into Sanaa with the Very Bad Experience Mickey, Minnie and the Evanses had had in August of ‘09 clouding my mind. Ther service was awesome, food was great (it is Indian food with an African flair-my spinach and paneer was not palak paneer), and the vegetarian menu was great. http://lh3.ggpht.com/_g7TJgB9U4yc/S3Vv8HMZWiI/AAAAAAAAAcM/--_bZOtwM_Y/s640/227.JPGThe menu said something about being done in late September, so I wonder if some changes were made. I had Vanilla-Coconut Rice Pudding for dessert (very good), and the Pina Colada Rooibos. I find Rooibos to be overrated, but this was very good.
The animal views from Sanaa are unbelievably awesome. As I cannot mind my own beeswax to save my soul, I listened to what my fellow compatriots were talking about. Apparent the guy who is something big with AKL’s animals was there, cool! I headed out of Kidani Village, and went to the bus stop. I aided a family in getting to Ft. Wilderness. I hopped aboard the MK bus to take the monorail to Epcot (apparently my feeling like I was riding the monorail a lot on this trip was correct-given it was my third trip on it it in four days).

Warning-this segment stinks, and I have no photos.
I switched to the TTC for the Epcot monorail. I got out, and headed to the Wonders of Life pavillion-I mean the Festival Center. They had a bunch of Wine and Beer. They had sold out of the Messenger bags. I headed dejectedly to the Interventions to get a Kim Possible phone. I got the Norway adventures. It was a lot of fun. I was hungry, so I grabbed a quick snack at the bakery. I headed over to Le Cellier. I was looking forward to it very much-the vegetarian entrée was gnocchi, which I love. I was seated fairly quickly, and I ordered my meal. I had a waitress and a trainee, both of whom were excellent. I ordered my gnocchi.
I stated eating my gnocchi, it was mushy and meh. I told my waitress, and she got me another great pasta dish. Then OMG! My tummy hurt something fierce. I apologized, got my Moose to go, and went back to POFQ and rested :(
I was glad that, as Scarlett said, tomorrow was another day.
(Issue was found out at home to be something other than I thought it was, and after a gazillion doctors checking me, it got fixed!)

I awoke the next day feeling much better, and ready to rock. However, my illness did a number on my brain-so don’t expect the Hedy who can interpret someone else’s TR notes. And my memory card was full. I headed off to Epcot. I entered, and went on Test Track. I went over to Interventions (always and forever), and did the Great Piggy Bank Adventure. I tried to video it, but 50% is me going “Um, it’s hard to do this alone. OMG it’s a personal finance analogy LOLZ!” I am therefore sparing you the torture. I got a Fastpass for a Kimmunicator. I stopped in Mousegears, looking for the Jack’s head ornament I’d seen earlier. I also needed to exchange my ticket holder (In August-I had picked up this guy at the WoD http://www.laughingplacestore.com/Product-6858.asp. This is AWESOME. It stays on, you can clip your phone (great for live Tweeting!), and water to your lanyard). However, my water bottle holder had popped off. Exchanging it was a piece of cake, but there was no Jack ornament. I had a tofu and noodle bowl in Sunshine Seasons, which was very good.
I got my Kimmunicator, and my mission was in Mexico. (Insert tired announcement about me living in Oaxaca in college and seeing alebrijes on the side of the road). While my mission was cool, one part wasn’t working, which stunk. I then headed into the Cava, where I had some Mezcal.
I continued walking around the World Showcase. I headed over to Canada, and hit a few Food and Wine stands. Ice wine tastes a lot like mead. I met with Marie and Aurora, Marie was behaving very cat-like. I then took the bus soon.

I stopped briefly at POFQ to change my memory card, and hopped on the boat. I really liked seeing the Treehouses looking lively. I got out, and headed over to characters in flight. It was down. I then headed over to Planet Hollywood. Now, I was minorly concerned about my stop here, as my usual pasta pomodoro had been not so great at the NYC pne in September (this was the first time I remember having a bad meal in 11+ years of Planet Hollywood fan girldom). I was seated easily, and ordered. This pasta pomodoro was fine. I used my coupon easily, and headed to the gift shop. I got my free gift (a keychain), and bought a shirt. I fully plan on using this NBC set piece as my ace in the hole to get my family to Planet Hollywood when we go together.in 2011.http://lh6.ggpht.com/_g7TJgB9U4yc/S_Fgj8ulllI/AAAAAAAAAzA/XkQp2HmLVUE/s640/2050.JPG
I then headed over to the WoD. Owing to the 10% discount, this is usualy where I do the bulk of my souviner shopping. I picked up some car accessories, and some other stuff. I was looking for a zip-up hoodie, as my Tink one I got in 06 was looking a little beat. I didn’t see any, but I did see a nightgown I liked (and got). I went over to Goofy’s Candy Co, where I was heartbroken to learn the amount of toppings for free had been reduced, but I got my massive Oreo cooking anyway. I then poked around the discount store and didn’t see anything. I popped into Tren-D. There was a cute Mickey cardicoat, but it was itchy. They also had a cute sort of sweatshirt/jacket thing. I tried on the Xl, and surmised that I needed a 2x. I asked at the register, they gave me the item number and told me to check at the WoD. While there, I saw a cute Mickey seatbelt makeup bag-as I’d smashed my eyrow power, the Ziploc I keep my mineral makeup in was out of commission. It was $68, so I passed. I headed over to WoD, there was one that might be at CSR or Beach Club. I mentally added popping by the Beach Club the next morning to my plan. I hung around W0D, then took the boat home. I decided I would go to DHS the next morning.

Hope this was nothing too serious, but good to hear it's been fixed. I'm also glad you bounced back quickly and were ready to go the next day.

WOW - that is really really close.

The next day was supposed to be AK, but as I’d been there earlier in the week, I opted to go to DHS. I got up early, headed onto the bus, was there at Rope Drop, and went to TSM. From there, I stopped by to meet Lightning and Mater.http://lh6.ggpht.com/_g7TJgB9U4yc/TAb5KxHI2jI/AAAAAAAAA0g/mb6v6QU-ScQ/s640/013.JPG I noticed the lights, which at first seemed out of place, until I figured out that people were coming for Christmas the next week. http://lh5.ggpht.com/_g7TJgB9U4yc/TAb5FysjtlI/AAAAAAAAAzw/D0BcyhBIOCQ/s640/002.JPG I wandered into the shops of DHS-I got a Mickey/Minnie Victorian ornament for myself (I have the matching music box). I also picked up two star ornaments, which I gave to Mordie and Ferdie as host gifts on Thanksgiving. I then went over to the big DHS gift shop-I’d wanted to check out the Mickey journey pendant, but I decided I wasn’t that into it. I did get a hoodie, though. I wanted to head to DTD, so I decided to play bus roulette. A bus to SSR pulled up, which seemed logical, as you can walk to DTD from there…..right?

OMG! I forgot to mention this: So Sharpay had opted not to audition for the AI when she was there in August. I thought you had to stay all day. So, after finding out you did not have to be there all day, I read over the list of songs. I'm a theatre junkie, I know lots of songs. Suddenly the best I could do was eh... I finally, I decided on my old voice lesson song.
I went into a room with a woman with a Macbook. I started to sing, and thought I was going to keel over dead of fright. Seriously. I didn't get it, as my voice was too chorus-y (which I knew). I liked auditioning, though.

Hey all,
I've decided to give up this trip report. I was kind of a mess, and I don't remember much. I would like to thank the DIS for giving me something to do during some rough times in the past 18 months. I credit the P/TR folks with helping me get my "me" back, and as such I want to only prduce fully awesome TR's.
However, I will be starting a niversal PTR, which I will link to here and in my siggy. Also, a Podcast 2.0 PTR will also be starting. soon.
