The shower/bathtub set up does seem a little odd.......

Somebody needs to come up with an intelligent and less expensive solution to the shower set-up. Otherwise I can see our dues going up in the future.....

Have they announced how transportation is going to work for the Treehouses yet?
Hoping for golf carts!! :yay:

The huge windows are amazing. I'd love to have that view over the Sassagoula River. :lovestruc

I like it!!!
The bathroom's are nice and Im glad they separated the tub and shower even if they had to do it that way. I prefer that over the way they combined them at AKV Jambo.

WOW!!!! I think the interior shots are amazing. Great colors -- especially the common areas and the master BR. Not sure I like the bathrooms, but that's not why I'm going on vacation. We will be there Thanksgiving week and I think it the perfect location for our family's holiday!!

Am I the only one that thinks that light fixture in the tub/shower is dangerous, is water from the shower not going to get into that?
I have never seen a hanging fixture on the back wall of a tub/shower.:confused3 or is that a reflection of the lights over the vanity?

I don't think it's on the shower wall - it looks like a reflection or double image of the lighting fixture over the sink.

I agree, it appears to be a reflection on the glass separating the vanity and the shower/tub area. If you look closely you see the shower head in front of the tub and a door handle to left of but in front of the shower head by the little partial wall, and a shower drain on the floor. It's all a bit deceptive since the photographer didn't capture or cropped out the shower head at the top of the shot and only left the hand-held moveable shower head that hangs on the wall. You walk through the shower to get to the tub in these units. Strange set up, if you ask me.

Thanks Tara and Stopher, I was thinking that just can't be right a light fixture in the shower like that. It is a very strange setup I agree.
Bus issues and such have me more concerned though. I just can not imagine putting that many extra people into the already over loaded SSR bus routes. Busing an extra 400-500 people over to SSR to wait at the bus stops there; is definitely going to be felt.
Then throw in those riding SSR buses to get to DD or DD area hotels. :sad2:

Although the setup is a bit strange, I really think that they are a unique addition (or, reincarnation) to the offerings, and I can't wait to try one!

The lofted ceiling is beautiful! That bathroom is a bit weird, though.

do you think the pool is going to be large to cope enough with the number of Treehouses

I stayed at the Treehouse Villas in August of 2000, when they were part of the Disney Institute. The Treehouse Villas were sold out the week I was there and there was NEVER a crowd at the pool. In fact, most times, we had the pool to ourselves.

LOL..I agree! What a mish-mash of finishes - looks like someone collected a bunch of uncoordinated left-overs and dumped them in one spot. Wonder how much that interior designer got paid for that design?!

You know, that's exactly what I thought - too many different tiles, fabrics, etc. It makes it look kind of cheap to me. :confused3 I'm sure there are plenty of THV fans who disagree and totally love it, though - just like there are lots of people who think I'm half a bubble off of plumb (as my grandma would say) for loving the BLT decor. I look at THV (the style, the isolation, the woodsy-ness) and suddenly feel like Eva Gabor in the opening of "Green Acres" singing "I just adore a penthouse view..." :rotfl:

...and I think of George and "Weezie" Jefferson with "Movin' on Up" playing in the background taking their taxi on over to the new high-rise from their row house in Queens and Archie Bunker's neighborhood when I see that tower. :rotfl:

thanks for the pics, I'm staying there July 11-18 with a group of 5 adults and 2 children under 3. Sure hope it's as peaceful as it looks. Can't wait to rest at the end of the day with that gorgeous view, wow.
I'm really worried about the bus situation also, hope there are more posts regarding that after they open.

Yep, except Florence will only come every 4 days to change out the towels. ;)
Thank goodness DVC manages to offer something for just about every taste in accommodations!

You betcha! We love our AKV savannah view, the lobby, etc. and are looking forward to staying in Kidani in January.... but we are also very excited about staying in the THV's as well... eclectic cabin casual and all - it just looks like such a fun throwback to the wilderness cabins we grew up staying in as kids in the Sierra Nevada mountains. I just hope Mr. Haney doesn't come around with his junk truck trying to sell us something while we're there! :lmao: And then someday we hope to visit the eastside and those deluxe apartments in the sky! There certainly are a lot of fun options to choose from.
