:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

Hello out there to everyone! I have been lurking on many trip reports (I've told my husband it's research). I finally decided to introduce myself! (Please bear with me I am still learning how this posting stuff works...I hope my pics post!)

Now for the intros:

I'm Tasha a 28 yo wife, mother of 1, pharmacist from STL.

Here is a pic of my husband Dave 27 who works maintance for a local hospital...my handyman!

And Last but not least our wonderful DD Amelia currently 18 months.

We are planning our trip December 3 to 10:santa:

You might ask why the happy dance so early? Well lets just say that we started the idea for this trip last September. So we were over 400 days at that point. I am VERY happy to now be under 200 days.

I have been reading every Disney book I could get my hands on....then I ran out of books. My husband wondered why I would read each book 2 to 3 times. What else do you do? Then I found this website and have been reading MANY trip reports. I have enjoyed all of them so much and gotten lots of good info from many that I thought I might as start my own pre trip report so we are all better aquanted before I do my own trip report. I was also hoping that I could get some good advice from all you seasoned Disers!

Stay tuned....up next my Disney Past!:goodvibes
PS my pics will not post...I guess you have to have 10 posts before you can post pics....so pics will be up this weekend...now I need to go post somewhere else...but where will that be..........

:cool1:Yeah! I have a reader....I am so excited! I am originally from IL also. Small town called Modesto about an hour southwest of Springfield. More on that later!

As I said before I am originally from a VERY small town in IL. My parents took my sister Misty (she is 7 years older than me) on usually one big vacation during the summer. My parents had a Buick Caprice Classic and we would drive to our destination. For most of the trip my sister wouldn't let me sit in the seat...she would lay on the seat and I would get half of the floor! (there was a hump in the middle of the floor and I would curl up with my pillow on the hump and all of our junk would be on the other side of the hump). My sister and I both have a huge place in our hearts for WDW. We both see it as the best vacation place and can't wait for our next time to go there.

My first Disney vacation was the summer of 1986, I was 5. The only thing I really remember is riding Dumbo with my Dad and taking all week to decide which stuffed character I wanted to get (we were only allowed one!). I got a baby Minnie Mouse...I might still have her.

I was always watching the Disney Channel....we were the first of all my friends to have cable. I loved Dumbo's circus ( I secretly wanted to be Lilly...I think that is her name... the tightrope walker!) and Welcome to Pooh Corner. From then on I was hooked!

We returned to Disney the summer of 1990. We did a Carnival cruise before going to the parks. I remember more of the cruise than I do the parks.

We returned the summer before I went to college (1999). My sister was divorced and had a 4 year old son Alex. Again we drove (I got a seat this time!). This was the first year we stayed on site. We stayed at PO riverside in the bayou section. I remember how much fun it was seeing Alex's reaction to everything, he was so amazed by the characters. We did the Pooh character breakfast at the WCC at the WL and I was taken aback by how beautiful it was.

Our most recent trip was June of 2006. My sister had gotten remarried and had another son Logan who was 3. So my parents, my sister's family and my then finance Dave all flew in to Disney. Again we stayed at PO riverside. This was Dave's first trip to Disney....he didn't think he would like it. He was wrong! He loves AK and EP (esp WS).

Here are some random pics from that trip! (sorry they are so small...I can't figure out how to fix them)

Dave and I waiting for the parade.

Don't they look excited! My Dad, my BIL Shane and Dave waiting at a character greeting. (Notice the matching shirts...my sister got us all one and we wore it to our character breakfast!)

Misty was the big planner on this trip...I just let her tell me when. I was too busy planning for our upcoming wedding in September.

That sums up my Disney past. Dave and I have only went on one "good" vacation since Disney (our honeymoon). We will get to why in the next post!

So after our 2006 Disney trip all my attention was focused on our September 2 wedding. We spent our honeymoon in Maui and if I realized at the time that it would be our last "good" vacation for a while I would have tried to enjoy it more (not that I didn't enjoy it).

After the honeymoon I got bit hard by the baby bug, it was all I could think about. Most of my friends were having babies and I wanted one too!:rotfl:

Dave and I decided that if the Cardinals won the World Series that we would take the plunge and become parents at the time they were the underdogs....little did we know. We ended up getting tickets to the last 2 World Series games her in STL. I bought the 1st set off of ebay as a suprise for Dave. The 2nd set we got from Dave's dad (his company has seats). On the way home from the game we looked at each other not really knowing what to say.:goodvibes

We decided to wait a little longer to get some financial things in order and my wisdom teeth needed to come out. Finally in Feb of 2007 we were ready. I asked Dave if he wanted to let it just happen or did he want to really try for the baby....he didn't understand the difference.:rotfl2: After the explanation he choose really trying!:lmao:

Fast forward to 4 weeks later and I feel funny....not a bad funny. We had an awful busy day at work and usually on days like that I come home so stressed out. That day did not faze me a bit. I decided something was up. We bought a pregnancy test and I took it. Here is the diaglogue from that night.

Me: I think that is a line.
Dave: NO that is just where the line would be if it was there.
Me: I really think that is a faint line.
Dave: It can't be you have only been off the pill for like 4 weeks!
Me: We are going to have to take another test.

We went to target that night and got a variety of tests including the "stupid person test" that just shows up with pregnant/not pregnant in the window. Can you guess what it said? :rolleyes1

Lamping3

:yay:We were pregnant! (well I was anyway you get the point)

http://i615.photobucket.com/albums/tt237/Lamping3/2323232327Ffp432483Evq3D32423E97-1.jpg

We were going to avoid using up too many vacation days this year and the next because I wanted to save as many as I could so I could stay home for the full 3 months after the baby was born.
:woohoo:I was excited because my due date was 11/24/07...Thanksgiving. This would mean I would be on maternity leave through all of the holidays. (I work at a retail pharmacy and unfortunately we are always open....we either Christmas or Thanksgiving every other year and 07 was my year to work one). I have learned that a baby born at that time is only good for the first year (you will find out why later!)

We had planned to spend a few days in May at my in laws condo at Lake of the Ozarks but my Dad ended up having a heart attack before we left and I spent my vacation week sitting in the hospital and helping my mom. (This was Bittersweet as I really wasn't looking forward to several days in a row with my husband's stepmother! That is all I am saying:rolleyes1

One of my College friends decided to get married in Vegas! The wedding was in September and I would be 6.5 months pregnant. Dave and I went.....we had an ok time. I know now we should never go back to Vegas! I love the place ( I am not a gambler but the shopping, food, and overall sights are so exciting!) Now Dave on the other hand needs to go to gamblers annoymous. We came home fighting about the money he gambled away! To top it all off I was made even more upset being so pregnant!

Fast forwart to November of 2007. My due date came and went. We finally welcomed our Amelia Grace on November 29, 2007. I ended up having a c-section because she wasn't reacting too well to the induction.

Here we are ready to go home!

http://i615.photobucket.com/albums/tt237/Lamping3/2323232327Ffp432493Evq3D32423E9723E.jpg

In 2008 our vacations included 2 staycations...where we stayed at home and enjoyed relaxing and visiting the many attractions StL has to offer.

We also went to Branson for a week during July. I was hoping for a relaxing week of outlet shopping and swimming and Dave could get his fish on! It ended up being awful! Dave woke me up in the middle of the night our 2nd night there and he was burning up! If any of you have a husband like mine and they are worse to take care of sick than your children you know how exciting that was! Luckilly we were there with my parents and my sister's family so I could leave with them and let Dave rest. We ended up having to take him to an Urgent care where they diagnosed him with strep throat. We actually had to go to 2 urgent cares....the first gave us a zpack! ( Now I as a pharmacist should have known better but the Dr was a jerk and I knew he wasn't going to listen to me) The second gave us Amoxicillin and some Prednisone to help with Dave's extremely swollen throat.

In Sept of 2008 I was talking about how bad our vacations had been and how we needed a "good one" I started talking about Disney and how I have always wanted to see it at Christmas time. I asked Dave if we could go in December of 2009 and he said sure!

:santa:I started my research right away!

up next why do we have to wait so long to book our vacation!

Here are some tshirts from the Disney Couture Line that I plan on ordering for Amelia for the trip. I don't know what size to order. She wears a 18-24 months is some stuff and I get her a 2T in some shirts because they are longer. I will prob buy them big incase it is cold and just put a long sleeved T under them.

So it was September and my husband had agreed to a December Disney vacation. I started thinking of resorts and my first thought was the GF. when I looked at the price for a weeks vacation:scared1: I changed my mind. If you remember we went to the WL for breakfast in 99 and I had always wanted to go back there. I thought it would be perfect for my outdoor lovin husband.

We had to wait and wait before we could make reservations.....at my job every pharmacist in the area puts in for vacation for the following year in late October/early November and the approved weeks come out sometime in December. So I put in my dates and crossed my fingers!

Lucikly I got just what I wanted:cool1:. December 7 to 12. I had to wait until January (we can't put in for individual days until the first of the year just weeks are approved in November...confused yet?) to see if I could get the 3rd and 4th approved...I had the weekend of the 5th and 6th off and I am off on Wednesdays so I was off the 2nd!

We have decided to drive:drive:....I know I know ( I will explain later!)

We are hoping to leave for Nashville (maybe?) after I get off of work on 12/1 and arrive in FL late on 12/2 and stay offsite that night and then check into WL from December 3 to 10.

I have a woods view room booked from December 3 to 10 and have requested a king size bed. I am thinking that if Amelia does not end up sleeping in the pack n play at least we will have room for her in our bed!:goodvibes

So that is what is definate so far other plans.....are up in the air. I will share next why we are driving and how our departure time could vary!:rolleyes2

You'll love Christmas time.
I went the 2nd week of Nov. and Disney was just starting to put out all the decorations, and it was amazing, even though it was 88 degrees everyday.
I was just disappointed that the Osbourne Lights were not turned on until after thanksgiving.
Let me know if I can help with anything.

Sorry to all but I have been neglecting my PTR lately. I need to figure out how to keep up with all the TR I am following plus reading the tip boards plus other things (eating, sleeping, working and taking care of my family).

So where was I....Why are we driving?

#1 cost....actually I looked up flight info the other day and it turns out it wouldn't be that much more to fly when you factor in the hotel rooms, gas, and extra food on the way down.

#2 I overpack.....I pack everything! When we go to my parents house for a weekend I have like 4 out fits for myself plus tolietries (even though my mom and dad have everything). We take like 6 outfits for Amelia...plus 2 pairs of PJs...I know she could wear the same pair Fri and Sat night but ya never know! I pack enough diapers for a week. Plus sippy cups, food for Amelia ect ect, ect. Now imagine that extrapolated into a week long Disney trip. We would be spending a fortune on Luggage fees!

#3 Too much through the airport. I can't imagine schleping through the airport with 2year old in tow, stroller, carseat (she would have to have her own seat b/c there is no way to get her sit on your lap for 2 hours plus Dave is over 6 ft tall so he kinda comes over the armrest into my seat), and all of or carryon suff. Maybe when she is past stroller age and able to fly without a carseat this might be more doable.

#4 Nostalgia. As I said before when I was younger we always drove to our vacation destination. It was fun. I am hoping to make some good family memories for us and Amelia.

Mapquest says it will be a 16 hour drive....Dave's GPS says 14? IDK why the big difference.

I have just recently put in a request to have Tuesday December 1st off so we can start our trip a little earlier:woohoo:

My plans are to get everything packed that morning and be on the road soon after lunch. Amelia takes a good 2 to 3 hour nap somewhere between 1130 and 1230 so leaving then will be perfect. She can sleep and we can get the roadtrip started.

IDK where we are staying the first night. One of my co-workers suggested Dalton, GA. He says it has nicer hotels and restraunts. It is about a 8 hour drive there.

We plan on driving into FL from there. Any recommendations of an off site hotel? We were thinking of somewhere an hour or less north of Disney. That way we could be at the WL early for check in and maybe we could get our room request! I requested a woods view king bed room (we will need one with a tub, not the disabled access rooms!)

Up next. Rough draft of daily schedule (actually I have already went through like 4 rough drafts:lmao: and I am sure I will have many more.)

So yes I have been neglecting my PTR yet again! But this time I have some good excuses! We have had some pretty good storms in our area. One of our trees in the front yard got struck by lighting...It ripped most of the bark off. It's ok though because we were thinking of taking the tree down anyway. Also we think the storm did something to our modem! It wouldn't work Sunday. Dave went to charter yesterday to pick up a new one! So I was like 4 days without the internet! It drove me crazy!

So I was planning on doing an update last night but.....we went to Best Buy for a new camera!!!!! We have been needing a new camera for quite some time. We bought our old one in 2006 before our honeymoon. It was a waterproof digital and we thought it was awesome. Fast forward to now when we have an active toddler and it doesn't have enough shutter speed to capture what we want. I wanted a nice camera so we would get good pics but couldn't justify the bigger $$$ right now. Then I got the best news in the mail Tuesday! I got 2 checks from the hospital/dr group we use that were refunds where our insurance covered more than what was thought! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:It more than covered the extra expense for the nicer camera! We got a Nikon coolpix S630 ( I think) I have been playing with it all morning and I love it!

Other than that I have been picking up random things that we might use on the trip....Dave thinks I am crazy for buying things now. Guys....they seriously don't know the amount of planning we do. I bought a plastic tub and have been putting things in there. I figured if I was out and I saw something we needed I could just buy it and keep it in the tub. That way we wont go spending $$ right before the trip for all the things we need. Anyway November will be a crazy busy month for us so I want to do all of the preplanning I can. Plus I have found some things on sale!

Now the one tip I found on the tip boards that I thought was :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 was to bring a pop up hamper! How genious! I hate how my clean/dirty clothes mix in my suitcase and I hate putting them in a garbage bag. This is just perfect. I found one at work and put it into my Tub!!

Any way I am rambling....Next post our day by day (so far, you know as well as I do this will change!:lmao:)

So on to our itenary!

12/3 Arrival...we hope to check in early so we get our room requests! Our plans this day include shopping at DTD, eating lunch at Earl (I have never been but the menu looks good!), Exploring the WL, Explore the Poly...we hope to get dinner ressies for Ohana and watching the Electrical water pagent and wishes from the Poly's beach!

12/4 MGM...oops! DS. Plan is for a CS lunch...any suggestions? We want to go back to our room for a nap in the afternoon and be back at DS for the Osbourne lights! We were thinking of dinner at Beaches and Cream. Our top 3 must do's for this day include....Playhouse Disney, Beauty and the Beast and Walt Disney: One Man's Dream.

12/5 Epcot....Spending most of our time in Future World. I want to do Lunch at Sunshine Seasons. Back to the room for nap! Dinner at Artists Point at WL or I was also wondering about the Wave? We plan on doing the Chip and Dale campfire. I figuered since this would be Saturday it would be a good night to spend out of the parks...I don't like big crowds! Our top 3 must do's for the Day...Soarin (Dave and I didn't ride in 2006), Space ship Earth (another first), and The seas with Nemo (yet a third first)

I will have to finish this later....I can hear Amelia talking to herself in her crib! Time for Lunch and getting ready for work!

I have one question for parents out there....Do you know if the restraunts will make something different for your kids? We always order Amelia something off of the kids menu when we go out because then we don't have to worry if she will eat what we order or not. She is pretty particular at what she eats and usually we go for chicken nuggets, grilled cheese or a cheese/chicken quesidilla. She can eat a hamburger/hotdog or grilled chicken but I would rather order her something she will definetly eat. I have been looking at some of the kids restraunt menus and I am confused....some don't have the "normal kid picks". Has anyone asked to get just a grilled cheese if it wasn't on the menu? Do you think it would be hoosier of me to ask or even bring in food from a nearby CS?

Thanks for your opinion!

12/6 Morning at AK. Breakfast at Tuskerhouse to see Daisy:woohoo: Late nap in room. To Epcot in the evening with dinner at Biergarten. Our must do's for the day...Finding Nemo, Festival of the Lion King, and the Safaris

12/7 Morning at Epcot. Lunch at Lecellier. Explore WS (aka shop til you drop!) Nap. Open evening! Must do's See inside Mexico pavilion, See inside china pavilion, look for Santas/storytellers at each country.

12/8 MK...finally morning! CS lunch. Nap in room. Dinner at Wispering Canyon Cafe or Wave. Back to MK for evening. Must do's.....Dumbo! See storytime with Belle, Pirates of the Caribbean.

12/9 MK again open for dinner and evening plans. Must do's Jungle Cruise, Haunted Mansion, and seeing the characters in Toontown.

12/10 Check out! Thinking about Boma for breakfast..then exploring AKL...DTD for lunch before heading North! This is Thursday...as long as we are home by Saturday evening all will be great.

I have based my park days on the UoG website. My plans will most likely change due to park hours and depending on what ADRs we get. I am pretty new to the whole ADR thing. On our last trip we only had 1 ADR....Chef Mickeys. Dave and I tried walking in to Rainforest Cafe at AK....the guy at the hostess station was kinda rude. It was like 11:15 am and he acted put out because we didn't have a reservation. Once we got our table the restraunt was not that crowded at all! I know it is totally different now, especially with the free dining going on.

I have yet to decide if we will go to MVMCP....I might wait until we get down there and see how long at the parks Amelia lasts. She is pretty good at staying up late she doesn't go to bed until 9pm....that way she sleeps until 7:30am and I can get ready for work without her up.

Up next....Decisions, Decisions!

To MVMCP or not to MVMCP that is the question. I am thinking and weighing the options to go or not. I am really disapointed that they are not doing the Night Before Christmas (It is not listed on the official Disney Website). I just tried to review the dates with our dates and the website is moving very slow!

I ordered some disney t-shirts for Amelia and I am so upset. I got them in the mail last thursday and the were a 2T. I ordered a 3T because the website said they ran small and I wanted her to wear them for our trip! I e-mailed the company right away and they were going to send me a return address label so I could mail them back for exchange with out paying postage. I still have not gotten the return label! Hopefully it will come in the mail today.

Still waiting on Tuesday to be approved for vacation time. Dave agreed that we should head out on the road earlier on Tuesday!

Not much more to post about. We are taking Amelia for her first official swim for the summer this afternoon so I hope to put up some pics on that!

Your plans sound great!!!! Lots of great ADR's! I can't wait to make our ADR's!!! I would think you would be able to ask for something special for Amelia to eat. It never hurts to try. I am sure lots of parents ask for something special. If they have bread and cheese than why not!

I am also looking for a new camera for our trip. My camera is horrible.

Can't wait to read more! :goodvibes

:rolleyes1I am trying to get an ADR a day because I am hoping they will do the free dining for Disney Visa holders like was done last year!

I know they do special things for people with food allergies....and their has to be pickier eaters than my kid there! We ate at Fultons Crab House in 2006 and the woman at the table next to us told the waiter she had allergies to shellfish! What a place to go with that allergy!

I like our camera so far it's a Nikon S360...I am not patient enough to learn how to use a non point and click.

Here are some updated pics of Amelia. I can't believe how big she is getting! We went to the Dr 2 weeks ago and the receptionist said...." Oh you are here for her last baby appointment" I almost started crying! These were also taken with our new camera. I love it so far!

:cool1::cool1::cool1:Down to 160 days today!! I can't believe I started this PTR 40 days ago! Alas there is not much here but hopefully there will be more to come.

So as the title says I've been shopping!

I finally bought my Vera Bradley purse. I have been pondering which style/pattern to get for a while now. After going to the stores to "try them on" many times here is my choice. The purple print hipster! I thought it would be perfect. I have been wanting something to just throw a diaper and a pack of wiped for short trips so I am not loaded down with the huge diaper bag! It will be perfect for Disney! (don't mind the little hand trying to swipe my purse!)

http://i615.photobucket.com/albums/tt237/Lamping3/050.jpg

I ordered these shirts a while ago. As I said before they sent me the wrong size. I finally got them in the right size! (don't mind angry Dave in the background....he wasn't too happy to have his pic taken when he wanted to watch TV)

Cinderella shirt!

Peace, Love, Mickey shirt!

I also did some shopping online at the Disney store (we no longer have one here in town).

Dave's Grumpy Shirt

My Tink hooded shirt

http://i615.photobucket.com/albums/tt237/Lamping3/052.jpg

Amelia in her Minnie polo

http://i615.photobucket.com/albums/tt237/Lamping3/042.jpg

I also ordered the volume 3 of the Disney songs CD. We have the other 2 and they are all songs from Disney movies! They are great. I hope they will keep us occupied on our loooong drive!

I have also been working on our Countdown!! Cutting out Mickey heads from Home Depot! So far I have 43 heads....I feel bad taking too many at a time...I usually make Dave do it!

http://i615.photobucket.com/albums/tt237/Lamping3/053.jpg

I really want to find some of the Disney Couture shirts in Adult sizes...the only one's I have found online have been on e-bay. I am currently bidding on some of my favorites.

I hope to make it to the mall this afternoon. If Amelia wakes up from her nap in a good mood we plan to go shopping! We really need to get family pics done (I need to find us outfits for that)...and her 18month pics too....she is almost 19month oops!:rolleyes1

Hopefully I will have more shopping pics later!

:yay: Yay for December. Where are you staying? Start a PTR! It has been a great outlet for me....I always have all of these ideas in my head and no where to go with them. We have a very busy fall/early winter so I need all the advance planning I can get!

Nothing much new for the PTR lately so for these down times I will be adding in our fun filled family activities!

Amelia got to go to her first Cardinals Baseball game last night. We were a litte worried about how she might act. We went armed with food and anything that might entertain here while we were there. At first I didn't know if we would make it to the 3rd inning. She was kind of restless. Luckily we had an extra seat (Dave's brother cancelled on us) and she could sit between us and stand in front of the seat. It ended up being ok. I took her out of the seating area a couple of times and let her walk around a little bit. She got into the game a few times and was clapping when everyone else would.

I was worried about her bothering the lady in front of us. But then when a group of drunk 21 year olds came and sat next to us I realized that she couldn't be that annoying.

Here are some great pics of the night!

Passed out in the car on the way home...too much excitement!
http://i615.photobucket.com/albums/tt237/Lamping3/015.jpg

A note on the foam finger on her in the last pic. On one of our walks we went into one of the team stores. She came across the foam fingers and immediately put one on her hand. I had to show Dave that she knew exactally what to do with one. He in turn had to buy it for her! He said "It can't be that much, right?" It ended up being over 8 bucks (for a foam finger!).

Overall it was a great night. We have tickets to go again in July but I don't know if we will take her then. I know for sure we won't have the extra seat and my husband's stepmother will be there and I would like to avoid her at all cost!

I am sure if Amelia was old enough she would be excited too. Dave always asks me what I am looking at on the computer and my answer is DISNEY! He keeps saying how far it is away and I am like but there is so much to do. He will appreciate all of the planning once we are down there I am sure!

Nothing much going on here on the planning end....I guess I have caught up with myself. I finished my countdown...It starts at 128 days so I still have a few days before we can start using it! I will post a pic of it sometime soon.

Hope everyone had a great 4th of July! Ours was very wet! It rained in the morning, afternoon and sprinkled during the fireworks show. It left the ground at the festival very muddy!

I am in the market for a new backpack/main diaperbag for Amelia. I have seen some at Pottery Barn kids and right now they are doing free shipping so I might have to get one!

Each Mickey head has a number and we will put a Disney themed sticker over the number when that day is over.

I was reading about the online ADRs and I found out that they reset themselves at 6:01am Florida time. That is 5:01am here! September 4th is our 90 day out. I will be getting up EARLY to be sure we get the ADRs that we want.

So as I said in my last post there is not much left here to do but wait. Wait for the park hours to come out and wait for the time to make ADRs. I am not the most patient person in the world and I need something to occupy me while I wait. Then I found and advertisement for something to look forward to before our trip.

To give me just a little Disney fix to make it through the dry spell!

This past Wednesday we decided to check out our local Six Flags. Dave was off because he has to work this weekend (Wednesday is always my day off). One of my coworkers had given me a buy one get one free ticket so we thought why not....it would be good practice and a learning experience for Disney.

As we drove up to the main entrance I noticed a sign that said Jessie MCartney 7pm tonight and I thought oh no! we are going to be overrun by teenage girls! Luckily it wasn't that bad.

As I said this was a learning experience....:rolleyes1 but some things did not compare to Disney. I guess Six Flags has recently filed for bankruptcy and it showed. The park needed some bad TLC. It is not the park I remembered from my youth! Oh well on with our trip!

We arrived a little before 11am (they opened at 10:30am) and were greeted with characters. Amelia took them in and was ok being around them. Score:thumbsup2 we might be ok with the Disney characters

Here are a few pics!

http://i615.photobucket.com/albums/tt237/Lamping3/034.jpg

http://i615.photobucket.com/albums/tt237/Lamping3/035.jpg

We also later saw Scooby Doo!

http://i615.photobucket.com/albums/tt237/Lamping3/046.jpg

And don't forget the face characters! Wonder Woman!

http://i615.photobucket.com/albums/tt237/Lamping3/047.jpg

http://i615.photobucket.com/albums/tt237/Lamping3/048-1.jpg

In route to the little kids rides Dave saw a pretzel and wanted one (he might be as bad as another kid!). He told me I could get a funnel cake while he ate a pretzel. Well he twisted my arm....a little later our bellies were full and we were off to find rides Amelia would ride.

First a train ride (Don't laugh...I had to ride with her and I felt like a big dork!)

http://i615.photobucket.com/albums/tt237/Lamping3/037-1.jpg

http://i615.photobucket.com/albums/tt237/Lamping3/038.jpg

She didn't look too excited on the train. Next was a boat ride. Now I think this was a great lesson learned. I figuered it was a tamer version of a rocking boat.....No! Since it wasn't busy that morning we were just walking right on the rides....now I know....WATCH WHAT THE RIDE DOES BEFORE YOU PUT YOUR KID ON IT! I felt awful! Here are pics to tell the story.

http://i615.photobucket.com/albums/tt237/Lamping3/039.jpg

http://i615.photobucket.com/albums/tt237/Lamping3/040.jpg

http://i615.photobucket.com/albums/tt237/Lamping3/041.jpg

The boat spun while it rocked. She was not happy and Dave and I felt awful! But we let her play in the squirt fountains for a long time to get our happy kid back!

http://i615.photobucket.com/albums/tt237/Lamping3/043.jpg

http://i615.photobucket.com/albums/tt237/Lamping3/045.jpg

She got soaked! We rode the big Ferris Wheel after that and she was a little scared but having Mommy and Daddy there made it ok!

http://i615.photobucket.com/albums/tt237/Lamping3/049.jpg

We decided to get Amelia something to eat so she could settle down for a nap. I got a hot dog and fries to share with her and Dave got chili cheese fries...no pics because they were pretty gross!

We decided to ride the train around the park to get her to sleep and she fought sleep most of the ride. Two passes around the park and she was out! Dave and I decided to do some shopping and just walked around the park people watching.

We found the turkey leg stand and I asked Dave if he wanted to get one while we were there. (He had been talking about turkey legs for about 2 weeks prior)

http://i615.photobucket.com/albums/tt237/Lamping3/052-1.jpg

He said if he had known they were as good as they were he would have skipped the chili cheese fries and gotten another!

After more walking around we decided to go out to the car and get our swim gear and head to the water park. Amelia woke up on the way to the car. We spent some time at the water park (sorry I forgot to take pics!) Before heading home!

Overall it was a good day. No way does Six Flags match up to Disney. But we learned some lessons and had a great time with our Daughter!

Oh No! You still have a little while before your trip. They change so much....I am hoping mine does not go the other way! We did not get to try a dark ride. We should have because that is what a majority of the rides in MK are!

Nothing much to report. I just made a trip to our local Hobby Lobby and bought a few things for Amelia in the car ride. I found a princess magnet thing....It has a castle background with all of the Princesses/Princes as magnets. She will probably throw all of the magnets on the floor and want me to pick them up! I also bought this aquadoodle type thing but it is colored pics of the Princesses....when you put water over it with the special brush the color shows up...let dry and repeat! :lovestruc

I also found some treat bags to use either in the car or in a park when she gets restless. I plan on putting fruit snacks, suckers and some small cheap toy in them. I saw where someone on her would tell their kid that they were from Mickey (or whatever character they just saw) I thought that would be really neat!

I was looking on etsy and I saw a couple of cute dresses that are called pillow case dresses. My mom sews so I am trying to find a pattern for her to use to make Amelia a few. I figuered that they would be perfect because I could still have her wear a cardigan over it or a long sleeved shirt underneath and some leggins and she would still look cute for December! We could disney theme them with a patch or mickey head! I looked for a pattern at the Fabric store today but I lucked out!

Nothing much else to report! I have 3 days until we can start using our big countown (I have a countdown for my countdown!:lmao:).

:goodvibesThanks I will have to save that address for my mom. I went ahead and just ordered a dress from one of the sellers....my mom said she could probably figure it out by looking at one made. I ordered one in the red with white poka dots because that fabric will probably be pretty hard to find! I also am hoping she can wear it to Disney on Ice and it would be nice to have it done already!

:goodvibesI got the best news today!!!!!!

About 30 minutes ago I was just looking online at my Disney visa bill.....and I decided to click on news and offers to see if any thing was out there. I got the shock of my life when I saw....

FREE DINING FOR MY DATES!!!!!

:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

I ran to get my phone right away and in about 10 minutes they added on free dining to my reservation. (Only Dave and I are eligible because Amelia is pretty much free anyway!)

In the begining I wouldn't have paid for the dining plan but getting it for free is great! That way if we miss a meal or don't use our credits to the full advantage it does not matter because it was FREE!!!!

So anyone who is a Disney visa cardholder can take advantage of this now before they open it up to the public....I think the dining goes through 12/17 excluding around Thanksgiving.

Seriously I can't wait for Dave to come home because I am so excited! :woohoo:

YAY!!!!I'm so glad you got the Dining plan free! Think of all the money you'll be saving! we got a pin code for the free dining that's why I booked for December instead of GC's 5th birthday in January-- so I upgraded it to the deluxe so it would pay for our character meals :) Are you guys going to do character meals or not since Amelia is so young?

I just found your TR. Your Amelia is too cute and I love her name!!! I love all the shirts you picked out for her too. So cute!

I've only read Page 1 so far but I'll be back to read the rest later. Right now I have a little boy who needs some mommy time. :lovestruc

Thanks for reading. While I was pregnant we had originally liked the name Annaleigh then one of Dave's coworkers said it sounded like something else (I won't repeat it because this is a PG board so hopefully you can figure it out:lmao:). We immediately changed our minds on that name. We were at Applebees eating and our waitress was named Amelia and we both looked at each other and decided then the name would be changed!

Dave wanted a $ amount that this would save us so I came up with the calculation of what it would cost us to do the dining plan....saves us $560:scared1: which is quite a bit! I am planning for breakfast at Tuskerhouse because we will see the fab 5 plus DAISY!!!!!. Daisy is one of Amelia's favs on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse so she is a must see! I don't know about any other character meals......I am not into too many breakfast buffets so CP and Chef Mickey's is out and she doesn't know too many of the princesses yet. We will see what happens!

Congrats on free dining! That is fantastic news!!! :cool1:

Ok, I am totally going to steal your pop up hamper idea - that is so smart! We are driving too and we can just stick the hamper right in the trunk for the drive home.

I love your pictures from Six Flags - it looks like you guys had a lot of fun. I really like the top you were wearing - did you get it recently? Where? :goodvibes

You are going to love the Osborne lights. I love WDW during the holidays. I am hoping to sneak in a weekend trip during the holidays this year. ;)

Thanks I couldn't believe that we got the free dining!

I got my top from J Crew late last summer (on sale!).....I don't wear it too often it reminds me of maternity clothes! I do like that it covers up my new post baby body though!

I can't wait to see the Osborne Lights!

Since I still have a looooong way until I get to finalize my day planning for the parks (Waiting for December hours and my ADR DATE!) I have been obsessing over our drive to FL. Since I finally got Tuesday approved off we were then thinking about leaving Monday night. I know I wouldn't be able to sleep well anyway....why not get the road trip started early!

Our household has had some arguments about the drive down.....Dave seems to think we can just wing it....me on the other hand want a plan in mind.

I have purchased 2 books to help with my planning....The parents guide to I-75 and The next exit. The first shows anything that will get your kids out of the car and keep you sane (it shows every McDonalds with playplace:lmao:). The second is every major highway in the us and what is at each exit. They both have helped me a lot.

I now have 2 plans for driving (I have mapped them on Dave's GPS)....the first splits the mileage up pretty evenly. The second gets almost half out of the way monday night.

travel option #1

Monday drive from home to nashville and stay in hotel in Nashville.....331mi/4hours 48 minutes

Tuesday am leave Nashville for Atlanta stop in Atlanta at the Children's Museum...245 mi/ 3 hours 31 minutes.

Tuesday PM leave Atlanta for Warner Robins GA stop there for hotel. 100mi 1 hour 30 minutes.

Wednesday Warner Robins to Orlando stop in Orlando for hotel. 345 mi/4 hours 53 minutes.

Travel Option #2

Monday home to Dalton GA stop in Dalton for hotel. 486 mi/ 6 hours 59 minutes

Tuesday AM Dalton to Atlanta Childrens museum....87 mi/ 1 hour 17 minutes.

Tuesday PM Atlanta to Valdosta for hotel. 226 mi/3 hours 14 minutes

Wednesday Valdosta to Orlando for hotel 214 mi/3 hours 2 minutes.

Whew!

There are pros/cons to both routes. I know Amelia might not be very good driving long distances without stopping. Option #2 gives us an advantage of doing a majority of the driving while she is asleep! Option #2 also gives me longer at the Premium Outlets of Orlando (our Wednesday stop).

We are not going into Disney property until Thursday morning.

I want to make sure and make hotel reservations before we leave....I have heard horror stories about not finding a hotel when you are ready to stop!

Sorry about the boring post! I hope to get some pics up soon of all the things I have bought for the trip!

Found you on Dawn's (Punkin413) TR saw your ticker was close to mine and headed over :upsidedow

welcomed our Amelia Grace on November 29, 2007.

That's MY birthday too!! Which I will be CELEBRATING party: at WDW this year :yay:

Mapquest says it will be a 16 hour drive....Dave's GPS says 14? IDK why the big difference.

I would shoot more towards the 16 mark. I was going to say 15 b/c it's about 5 hours from Nashville to you, but we are a hard 10 hour drive to WDW.

Dave thinks I am crazy for buying things now. Guys....they seriously don't know the amount of planning we do.

AGREE!! I've already bought things for my trip too. Including a BIG Vera Bradley bag, it's a backpack. The kensington print (which they just retired), so I got it on sale :woohoo: and I've been stuffing things in there as I get them for the trip!

My friend (and her girls,) who I'm going to WDW with and I also just went to Destin FL the first week of June. We were joking and said it looked like someone threw up Vera in her van. I think we counted 9 different patterns between the two of us

Amelia got to go to her first Cardinals Baseball game last night. Family photo!

Woooooo Hoooooooo!!! Busch Stadium (the first one) was my first pro-team game EVER! I LOVED it!!!

You have a beautiful family, and Amelia is to cute!

LOVE this picture....and  love  that story!! :rotfl: So funny!!

http://i615.photobucket.com/albums/tt237/Lamping3/july11031.jpg

Great job :thumbsup2

I need to get working on one of these if I'm going to do it! Last 2 trips I did it on my counter top....worked out really well and easier than making a poster.

I am not into too many breakfast buffets so CP and Chef Mickey's is out and she doesn't know too many of the princesses yet. We will see what happens!

You should go to CP for the dinner buffet....SO GOOD!!!! :thumbsup2 And I'm sure she would love the Pooh characters

WE GOT FREE DINING TOO!!!! :thumbsup2 I had a room booked and got a pin # for FREE DINING!! I was so excited, emailed Dawn and she had our package booked for us :thumbsup2!! I'm glad too b/c we are staying at Pop, so with the disney offer would have just gotten the quick service plan. So I will be making our ressies at the end of the month!! :dance3:

As far as the driving goes looks like you are going to have PLENTY of time!! However I do think that you will make it further than Nashville on your first stop. Even Chattanooga would be a good option and is about 2 1/2 hrs past Nashville. As far as GA goes I think you have a lot of decent options for stops...Dalton, Marietta, McDonough, Forsyth, Perry, Cordele, Tifton. There are a LOT of GA girls here on the boards, so just start asking around.

Another thought is get to Nashville/Chattanooga the first night, if you aren't going to be on the road for to long, and then get to Orlando the next day. Spend the night and then go to Sea World or something. You can get a REALLY cheap hotel room on hotwire/priceline websites!! It seems you can always get the cheaper rates in the larger cities.

Don't know if you would want to do this, but I would maybe get a travel DVD for Amelia. Mel has one we used for the girls going to FL. It was AWESOME. She has a 4 yr old and a 6mo old. That of course was the little one's first trip but the 4 year old has only gotten to use the DVD on 'long' trips. It's one that velcro's on the back of the head rest. But we even watched little Einstein video's and the baby LOVED it!

Sorry to ramble so much, there were just several things I wanted to touch on :). Enjoying your PTR :santa:, and we'll be doing the same things along the way I'll enjoy bantering back and forth with ya.

Yay for someone else going the same time as us!

We are soooo confused on the drive time. Dave's grandpa keeps telling us it will be 20+hours! I have looked on the transportation boards and people from our area are still saying roughly 16 hours.

Dave and I got into an argument over taking clothes....neither one of us has much casual summer stuff right now so I told him if he thought he needed more shorts for the trip we would have to look for them soon because by November when we would be packing they would be gone. He told me that he wasn't ready to plan his "outfits" for each day.....I said I know it is early but think about it!.....guys!

Thanks for the driving tips! We plan on leaving Monday night after work....which will be between 6 and 7 pm. I don't know if we will be able to make it any further than Nashville. The company I work for gets discounts at the LaQuinta chain and there are quite a few on our driving route (their website uses mapquest to find the hotels on your route) I figuered staying at one chain would be easier than multiples that way if we wanted to go further we could just use the 800 number to cancel the one room and book another. We hope to stop in Atlanta Tuesday because there is a childrens museum that I have read about and an Aquarium too. Now that I have seen that there is an American Girl in Atlanta we might have to stop there! We plan on staying in Orlando on Wednesday night and hopefully we can make it to one of the outlets before we check into WL on Thursday! Whew! Sorry that was so long!

Drive time - Well it is about 5 hours flat from here to St Louis. It's 4 hrs from here to Atlanta, and about 7 hrs from Atl to Disney. So I do think you will have about 16 hours 'drive time.' Now actual time of course is a little different and depends on how your family travels :upsidedow

Looking at the LaQuinta's you dont' even have a choice until Nashville, and none of them are off of 24. So you will have to go a little out of your way to get to one. The Franklin one would definitely be the nicest, but about 15-20mi. out of your way. Wouldn't be to big of a deal if you would like the 'best' one to stay at, but if you decide to stay there I'll tell you the route to get back on 24 east :thumbsup2. The 2 airport ones would be your next choice, and just guessing I would prob say the one on Atrium Way and then Donelson Pike. And please don't even consider staying at the one on Sidco Drive!!! JMO, it would be your worst choice of the 4.

There are 2 in Chattanooga and it's only about 2-2 1/2 hours past Nashville. Then there is the one in Dalton and it's only about 45mins past Chatt. If you did make it on to Chatt or Dalton that is only a couple of hrs from Atl. So you guys would have plenty of time to go do somethings there during the day and then make it another hour or two to maybe Warner Robbins, GA. to stay that evening.

Then you would have only 5-6 hours to go to ORLANDO! :yay:

Just talk to hubby and see how far he will want to drive the first night and let me know....we'll get you booked SOMEWHERE ;)

Obviously I like planning the 'timing' of road trips

Funny story we were coming home from Panama City beach this weekend and we got on to 65N at Montgomery. I told Matt with one stop we should be in Franklin, to get my babies, around 2. We pulled into my parents neighborhood at 1:59 and their driveway at 2.....DANG I'm good!! :lmao:

DVD Player - not sure of the brand name but the one Mel had would velcro to the back of the head rest, so then you have control of it but it's at a good level for her to watch.

Thanks for all the good tips! I look forward to more! Are you doing a PTR?

Thanks for all of the good tips Vandyfan (its Erica right?) May I call you Erica? I have read the Vandy Girls TR ......I lurked because I came in so late. Wow that makes me seem kinda stalkerish. I promise I am not a stalker.

Any way I would Love to be able to make it to Dalton the first night....that was our original first stop when we were leaving Tuesday AM. I don't see it being a good idea though. Dave has epilepsy and lack of sleep makes him have a dizzy next day. I need sleep to not be a grouch the next day:laughing:! If we didn't have a 2 year old that would sleep on the way and then be ready to go at 7am the next morning we might do it. If it were just us we could do a later start the next morning but Amelia complicates that idea.

So Nashville the first night it is. I had picked the Atrium Way LaQuinta. I was kinda questioning the hotels myself.....The starting rate for rooms at those hotels is pretty low. That usually signifies one of two things. 1. The hotel is run down or 2. the hotel is in a sketchy area. It is so hard to make reservations on line when you don't know the area or how far from the highway it really is. Can you make a recomendation of a hotel close to 24? I don't need anything 5 star...it is only one night. Just something safe and clean would be great!

If you ever need help with a hotel or things to do in StL you know who to ask!:thumbsup2

Earlier I promised pics of the many things I have bought for our trip...well here they are!

Amelia in her "Minnie style" dress for the trip. I am also planning on her wearing this to Disney on Ice!

http://i615.photobucket.com/albums/tt237/Lamping3/066.jpg

OT....Please don't pay attention to the pacifier in her mouth:rolleyes1....we have been trying for months to get rid of it. We have gotten down to nap time and bedtime and sometimes riding in the car. She does not have it all day at daycare and even takes a nap there without it. I am so frustrated! I am thinking about taking it away totally this weekend and just let her cry it out (it is so hard to do though!) I have tried the cutting thing....she just screams more! Anyone that has tips please let me know!

This is my shirt for the parks. Minnie kissing Mickey....so cute!
http://i615.photobucket.com/albums/tt237/Lamping3/068.jpg

Tin box I found for Amelia....I figuered it would be great for crayons and such in the car!
http://i615.photobucket.com/albums/tt237/Lamping3/070.jpg

My Dollar store finds...some things to tuck in the treat bags and others for the car.

http://i615.photobucket.com/albums/tt237/Lamping3/078.jpg

Coloring books to use on the way
http://i615.photobucket.com/albums/tt237/Lamping3/074.jpg

Magnetic book I found of toy story characters
http://i615.photobucket.com/albums/tt237/Lamping3/073-1.jpg

The "other" things....a toothbrush holder, some tide packets, dish soap, hand soap (a lot easier than the bars in the room), and a sponge for washing dishes!
http://i615.photobucket.com/albums/tt237/Lamping3/081.jpg

That is my stuff so far! I am still planning that drive down. I am at less than 30 days to make my ADRs:woohoo:.

I really think I need to step away from the computer for a while. I spent most of Amelia's nap time today researching flights.....yes flights to Orlando. My fuzzy Disney Math might make me want to fly. I found flights on Southwest for $625 for the 3 of us round trip. I figuered it would cost us at least that if not more to drive......roughly $300 for gas and $300 for hotels there and back. I also was thinking we could still leave earlier (Tuesday) and just get a room at a value resort for a few nights. This might give us more downtime and we would have a free night to do MVMCP.

Here is my proposed "earlier arrival plan"

Tuesday....arrive at Disney value resort (the flight I looked at landed at 8pm) not much to do this night
Wednesday...DTD and explore other resorts....Ohana dinner
Thursday....check in to WL explore other resorts/ maybe do a character lunch then MVMCP at 4pm

With this plan I wouldn't need any more park tickets and we could take more time to see the Christmas decorations at the other resorts.

I do have some reservations about flying though......What if Amelia has a fit on the plane. If she has a fit in the car at least it is just us and we can pull over at the next exit. On the plane we will be stuck there for the next 2 1/2 hours and possibly bothering people around us. Also do you take a carseat for a 2 year old on the plane? Or are they just buckled in? I don't like the idea of lugging a carseat through the airport. What if we take a taxi somewhere? Do we need a carseat then? (ie if we take a taxi from one resort to another for easier travel).

Any suggestions/opinions would be greatly appreciated!

HI! :) I just found your trip report and am so excited. We will be at Disney the same time as you (Dec 5-13). I live in central IL, small town 15 miles north of Champaign. I love the cardinals (well really Pujols :lovestruc). And picked out the same disney couture shirts as you for my little girl but they don't have her size. I'm hoping they'll get more before we leave. I can't wait to read more about your PTR and your TR. And maybe we'll even run into each other in December.

:welcome: Thanks for reading! Warning on the Disney Couture shirts....I bought Amelia a 3T size and after washing it just about fits her perfectly....(I hang to dry) I hope she doesn't grow much between now and then so she can still wear it. She is a little large for her age (34.5 inches tall at her last appt and 28 pounds....she has always been in the upper 90th percentile) but in most things she can still wear 24 month clothing!

I am hoping to see some people from the Dis too! Off to read your PTR!

That is fine to call me Erica :goodvibes...I usually use screenames only b/c I cant remember the actual name :rotfl:

Honestly if I got a discount through LaQuinta I would stay at the Atrium Way spot. You will get off of 24 on to 40 for about 2 miles, it's just not that much further. And in Nashville downtown and the Airport hotels would prob be the nicest. But if you are wanting any hotel then you could prob go to Murfreesboro and stay somewhere there. I'm sure Clarksville would have some ok places to. But I don't know much details about either place. I'll look into it a little closer for you once you know.

Getting the discount the Franklin LaQuinta would be your BEST option and would be one of the nicest places you could stay in the Nashville area, but it would be 20-30 miles out of the way. Not difficult at all but it would be off 65 south.

The "other" things....a toothbrush holder, some tide packets, dish soap, hand soap (a lot easier than the bars in the room), and a sponge for washing dishes!

Sorry I can't answer any of the car seat questions, but I think the flying is a great idea!! It can't be more than aprox 2hr flight there. And I agree with the $$$$ with the times you guys will be spending the night too.

Were you factoring in renting a car?? If so you could easily stay at a hotel somewhere on I-drive for CHEAP! But I'm sure they have got some decent prices on the values during that time too & then you would be on Disney property. If you weren't on Disney property Sea World would be a fun different thing to do!!

Hi, there! Chiming it to state that it's never too early to start a PTR. Of course, that could be because I've started one for my Dec. 2010 trip. :)

Your family is lovely - the WL is a gorgeous resort at the holidays (that's where we stayed last December).

I'm not sure how long the flight will be for you, but I would never drive my kids to WDW (from PA, it would be a two trip unless we drove right through). I've flown with my kids from 6 months on up and they've been very good for us. But even if we were worried about them acting up, you're looking at a few hours of agony versus a whole day of driving. At least on a plane, you can get up and move around and still be en route to your destination. She might surprise you and do really well. You can never tell - if it's at all possible, try to get a flight that would correspond with nap time, she might sleep for you. I would absolutely get her her own seat. Even if she never sits in it, it gives you more room. Plus, she gets a carry on and "personal item" just like every other paying passenger.

As far as the car seat goes - if you want to use it on the plane trip itself, it has to be certified for airline use. I've never used a car seat on a plane trip, so I don't have any recommendations in that area.

Good luck with your planning!

I think we changed our minds again!:lmao:Dave and I talked this weekend and we feel right now with Amelia it would be better to drive. I would really like to have a car with us because of Amelia and the car adds to much $$ to the flying option. I have been looking at a Holiday Inn Express in Manchester for our first night...any thoughts? The reviews seem promising. Plus according to my "Next Exit" book there is a Starbucks at the exit. I have a theory (one that I stole from another diser) that Starbucks = nicer exit!:rolleyes1

Thanks for joining! I am still afraid of her screaming the whole way there on a plane! I have broken the driving trip up enough that I think we will be ok. (Giving us ample time to stop and wear her out for a nap!) Plus I get to go to the Premium Outlets!:woohoo:

I just bought a portable DVD player from Amazon! Can't wait for it to get here. We will be trying it out in a couple of weekends. We are driving to my parents house and it is about a 2 hour drive. Amelia :lovestrucLoves her movies so hopefully she will love her DVD player!

I had one of the worst days at work yesterday. We have lost 2 of our staff and once the students go back to school next week we are going to be so shorthanded and I had to make a schedule for a week after they go back to school. Let me tell you....I don't know how we are going to handle it! I was almost in tears making the schedule! Usually we have 3 techs in the am and 3 in the pm and one that works 10 to 6:30 to cover extra in the middle. During the week I was making on a particular Wednesday we have 1 tech in the am 2 in the pm....nobody overlapping! Any way I could go on and on about the situation but here is where my day gets sooooo much better!

I pull into the driveway. I was a little bummed also because Dave was at his uncle's house for the evening fixing his air conditioner and I was going to be alone most of the evening with no one to vent to (Amelia listens but she doesn't give very good advice!:lmao:).

What do I see on our front porch! My package from disney store online!!!!!! I was super excited. I had ordered lots 'o things the preceding week and they had finally arrived. I seriously got some great deals....along with $5 shipping and 20% off. My total was like $114. Here is my stuff!

A thermal for Amelia....It has princess pics on it. It is a little big but hopefully it will fit perfect in December!

A night gown for Amelia...I thought it would be perfect for Disney in December!

Beach towel for Amelia with her new favorite character!

http://i615.photobucket.com/albums/tt237/Lamping3/100042.jpg

Pants for me....They are kinda big....they are to go with the tink hoodie I bought before but I think they will be sleep/lounge pants because they look a little sloppy to wear out.

Sleep pants for Dave

Those are all of my big deals.....I am off today to find Amelia some black shoes to wear (crocs?) to disney on ice....all of the shoes she has are pink and they will clash with the minnie dress I want her to wear!

Sorry you had a bad day at work - I know how seeing a package can brighten things up, though. Having a DVD player in the car is perfect. The only downside is my kids are so hooked on being able to watch movies in the car they can't get out of the driveway without asking me to turn it on.
Very cute clothes! When we were at WDW last December, it was in the 60's and fairly chilly. It was a lot colder in Pennsylvania when we left but it didn't take long to get acclimated - I wish I'd brought a few warmer tops with me.

I have been looking at a Holiday Inn Express in Manchester for our first night...any thoughts? The reviews seem promising.

I think that would be a perfect spot!! Of course don't know much about the hotel, but I would think that would be a fine exit to stay at. And if they reviews are decent that's all that matters!!

But that will get you 45mins-1hr out of Nashville and then you will only be a little over 3 hrs away from Altanta!! :yay:

I just bought a portable DVD player from Amazon! Amelia :lovestrucLoves her movies so hopefully she will love her DVD player!

I also am dancing because Amelia went to sleep last night without her pacifier!!!!!! I took it away from her Wed night. Let's just say we had a few ROUGH nights. She went right to sleep without any fuss last night. I promised her we would get her a "mermaid" doll when she slept without the pacifier.

:woohoo::woohoo:Let's dance some more!!!! I have 11 days until I can make my ADRs. (ie...until I am up at 5am in front of the computer!)

I really hope I don't need alternates because I really want some of the places on my list! Your ADRs are comming up sooner...right...I believe you check in before me. We have had a couple more rough nights....we stayed at my parents house last weekend and Amelia would barely sleep at night. Which in turn made Dave and I get no sleep. She was scared being out of her own room so she ended up sleeping with us....which turned out to her wanting to sleep with us at home. Finally last night we got a good nights sleep! I was worried and kept waking up to check on her!

This is what she got for getting rid of the pacifier.

They make a product called "Thumb" that is supposed to taste bad so kids don't suck their thumbs. We have it at Walgreens. It could be worth a try!

September is a big month for us. Today is my and Dave's 3 year Anniversary! I was hoping to scan in a pic from our wedding but my scanner won't cooperate with me.

Dave suprised me last night with a bracelet that I saw at a store. He actually listened to what I said I wanted. He kept asking me all last night if I knew what I wanted and then he said "well I got you something already" he brought out this bracelet. The beads are separate...you can add more or change them. I thought it was pretty neat!

Sorry the pic is kinda dark.

http://i615.photobucket.com/albums/tt237/Lamping3/073.jpg

The 4th is my day to get up at 5am to reserve my ADRs.

The 5th we see Disney on Ice!

The 7th is my Birthday.

I am on vacation from the 8th to the 13th!

We get I phones on the 16th! (Dave has been patiently waiting since March! He wanted one then and we were not eligible for an upgrade....I was not paying $400 for a phone!)

With all of this excitement September should fly by pretty fast!

I got my DVD player in the mail last week. Amelia loves it. She watched movies on the way to my parent's house and no peep was heard out of her.

I was excited because it was my first upgrade. The company had run out of the model I ordered so they gave me the newer model at no extra charge.

http://i615.photobucket.com/albums/tt237/Lamping3/061.jpg

I have started a new project. I am making applique shirts for Amelia. ( I figuered I might be able to do them cheeper than buying them) They have turned out to be easier than I thought. Here is my first one done. Ignore the messy hair....it was almost bathtime.

http://i615.photobucket.com/albums/tt237/Lamping3/071.jpg

My mom finished the nemo dress and I have received hair bows for Amelia. I might be able to get pics of her in them later!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!!!!!!!
I love that bracelet! Did you know they make Disney beads that might fit it--depending on what brand of bracelet you have! Chamilia (sp?) beads has the disney ones! They even sell some of the beads for it at disney too!

then

Happy Birthday--my hubby's 43 b-day is tomorrow:love:

and

O you lucky dogs on the New I phones!!!!! I'm sooooo jealous:worship:

Amelia's shirt is awesome! Was it hard to do? Did you sew the applique after you ironed it on? I stink at sewing--so my Mom does all of GC's clothes :rolleyes1

I just got super excited to get Disney Beads! I can't remember the brand but I will try to go by the store sometime while we are off to check!

Dave has been wanting the I phone FOREVER! He has his own little countdown in his head:lmao: I am excited to have the internet so I can play on my lunch.

The appliques were super easy. I got some iron on stuff from the fabric store and traced my pattern, applied the fabric and cut out the design. The hardest part was cutting out the design because my tracing was in pen and was a little dark to see. I did end up using embrodery (sp) thread around the edges of the applique they are not even but they have that cute shabby chic look. I can't use a sewing machine so this is next best thing! My next mission is to do an A on a shirt for Amelia.....I can't find a pattern for the letter though.

*****************************************

Dave and I went to Brio last night for our Anniversary. We took Amelia with us. Our server was wonderful. He got our food out fast which was VERY helpful because Amelia had not been on her best behavior all day.

I went to a local bakery before Dave got home to get us a cake. The choices were very limited either carrot or lemon flavor....Dave HATES lemon. Then I saw a cake without a flavor sticker. I asked the employee what flavor it was and she went to the back to double check. She said it was yellow cake....great that is Dave's favorite. To our suprise when we cut the cake it was chocolate with some sort of pudding type filling......kinda gross! I don't really like the bakery cake icing so I wouldn't be eating much of it.

I have to get ready for work now. I work until 10 tonight. I hope I can sleep before I have to be up to make my ADRs. (If this is that bad just think what I will be like before we leave!) I am sure I will be on here as soon as I get my ADRs made. There is no one else that understands the victory or defeat of ADR making!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

DH and I ate at Brio for our anniversary too. So funny! I love Brio! I love your bracelet. I have one of those bracelets too and lots of times the charms are interchangeable within the major brands. My bracelet is Pandora, but I have a few different brands of charms. :goodvibes

We have basically given up the fight with DS and let him sleep with us every night now. I figure he won't want to sleep with us forever. :rotfl:

Good luck with your ADRs tomorrow! When I made mine I actually tried online first at 6:00 AM and got everything I wanted so I never had to call. I can't wait to hear what you get. :thumbsup2

I love Brio too! We were trying to decide where to go and Dave wanted Longhorn...I did not. He said he wanted pasta and then he suggested Brio! I was so excited because usually he doesn't want to go there because it is near the ritzy mall (the one with neiman and saks:rotfl:). So everyone I tell about Brio thinks it is expensive because of its location.

I hope they have the disney charms at WDW!

We ended up giving Amelia a dose of Benadryl:rolleyes1 for 2 nights to get her tired enough and used to her own bed again. She is now back in her own bed!

:dance3:Well I got most of what I wanted!

I woke up this morning at 4:40 am and decided per Veronica's suggestion to try to get online early....it worked!

Here are my pics

12/3 no reservation

12/4 Whispering Canyon 5:15pm

12/5 Biergarten noon

12/6 Tuskerhouse 8:05.....see ya there Veronica.. we will save you some food!

12/7 LeCellier 11:40am

12/8 Ohana 7:05

12/9 Kona 11:10am

12/10 Boma 10:30am

I had to switch my two choices at Epcot....not a huge deal (really no deal at all).

My biggest complaint is that I didn't get Ohana for our arrival date.....I wanted so bad to watch Wishes from the beach then. I made the reservation for our open night. We had planned to either do Epcot or see the Epcot resorts that night. I was thinking about going to the Epcot resorts on our arrival night (we don't have park tickets for this day). Has anyone eaten at the Big River Grille and Brewing Works? Let me know....it is not one that takes reservations.

I going back to bed now to see if I can get some sleep before Amelia wakes up.....usually that is around 7am!

just read through all of your posts, very cool countdown i might add,

the plans and the dinners look good, and way to score on the free dinning.

we went last december with our little one, he was younger than yours will be, but it is a good read if u want to see what our trip was like in december with a youngster.

the link is in the signature, shamless plug over.

another tip along with the stuff that you have already gotten, we have already started to get our stock of glow sticks from michaels, they come in tubes over 15 for only 1 dollar, much much cheaper than buying light up stuff at disney, and at that price you can get some for each day.

since we have so long till our trip and pass a micheals a few times a week, we take the weekly 40% off coupon and just stop each week and get 1 tub, i know cheap of us, but i am planning on getting at least 30 tubes, (i like to play with them as well) so that is a good difference when buying that many.

i also give them out to kids at halloween when they come to our house to lite them up so they are safer at night.

sorry done rambling for now.

HOW COOL!!! We have to make sure and get a pic of all of us at Tusker house--it will be fun to see a DIS'er in real life:cool1: I'm glad you got online early and it went thru! I was totally shocked when it worked before 6am, but hey all good for us:santa: Big River is a Tenn Company, but that's all I know about it...

Glad Amelia liked Disney On Ice, my SIL wanted to take GC to see Nemo on Ice with my nephew, but when I showed GC the video on the website, she said no, no, no. So she won't be going, lol.

A picture would be great! Thanks for the tip about getting ADRs earlier.

Amelia didn't really "get" some parts of Disney on Ice. She loved watching it and I don't think she associated the princesses with the movies we watch.

I'ts almost 11pm here....I should be sleeping but thanks to work issues I have a case of insomnia (WHY?.....REMEMBER I AM ON VACATION!) Anyway I won't go into detail about that I will just say everyone here is lucky because this gives me time to do my Disney on Ice updates!

I had to work that day until 3pm. It was Dave's job to make sure Amelia had a decent nap and was bathed and ready to be dressed when I got home. I arrived to a crabby child......I thought to myself great here goes our night and our $$$ for front row tickets!

We met my co-worker (Kristen) and her son(Brayden) (and co-workers "friend") at Hooters....yes hooters. I had never been to Hooters and Kristen's friend wanted to go. People usually go to Hooters for 2 reasons....1) for the wings......B) for the other part of the chicken....that is not on the chicken. I do not like wings....I hate eating something off of a bone and because I am a married female the other reason obviously doesn't apply!

This choice in restraunts should have tipped me off about Kristen's "friend" later we learned what a jerk he was. (Kristen is currently going through a divorce and she reassured Dave that her and her "friend" were just friends!) I won't go into details about him being a jerk he just came across as VERY cocky and he was all into diciplining Brayden which #1 was not really his place and #2 he was talking about giving the kid a spanking. Brayden is 6 weeks older than Amelia and I at least know at this age that spanking is not that of an effective form of dicipline. He obviously did not.

Amelia did not want to eat at Hooters (she must of felt the tension about the "friend"). We left and I don't think she even ate a french fry!

We left Hooters to get to the Family Arena where Disney on Ice was held. Dave and I were arguring in the car because I wasn't exactly sure where to turn off....he wanted to stop and look it up in our GPS...I said it wasn't necessary. We finally found the turn and Dave ended up being in a bad mood.

So after all of this drama I was thinking in my head with a crabby kid and ticked off husband I was in for a WONDERFUL evening.

We had joked before the day of whose kid would try to get on the ice first.....we did not know how true this would end up being.

We found our seats and Dave was still complaining about "friend" and we bought Amelia a light up toy (one that she will take with us to Disney!). Dave wanted to keep her away from the ice because he was afraid she would throw it out on the ice.

Kristen, Brayden and "friend" found their seats next to us. Brayden had a light up toy too. Kristen went to get some drinks and as she came back I saw Brayden out of the corner of my eye reach his arm with the light up toy back.....it was too late. Poor Mr Incredible was out on the ice batteryless.

http://i615.photobucket.com/albums/tt237/Lamping3/disney%20on%20ice/090.jpg

They had to call someone to come and get it. That was it for the light up toys. They were both put away!

The show starts with a guy driving a Zambownie (sp?) out onto the ice. It seems to get stuck in the middle and he has to call for backup to move it!

Who do you think that backup is?

Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Chip, and Dale!
http://i615.photobucket.com/albums/tt237/Lamping3/disney%20on%20ice/096.jpg

So my night that started off bad suddenly went good as I saw this smiling face!

http://i615.photobucket.com/albums/tt237/Lamping3/disney%20on%20ice/094.jpg

She was so excited smiling and waving to the characters. And shouting out their names! My heart melted! (It made me very excited for our trip!)

http://i615.photobucket.com/albums/tt237/Lamping3/disney%20on%20ice/095.jpg

http://i615.photobucket.com/albums/tt237/Lamping3/disney%20on%20ice/098.jpg

http://i615.photobucket.com/albums/tt237/Lamping3/disney%20on%20ice/099.jpg

So Goofy drives the Zambownie and has no success. Then Aladdin comes out with Abu and The Zambownie opens up and out comes the Genie!

A little later multiple genies come out from the back. This part was pretty cool!

http://i615.photobucket.com/albums/tt237/Lamping3/disney%20on%20ice/101.jpg

Amelia pretty much looked like this when anyone except the Mickey and pals characters were on the ice. She enjoyed it....just a little perplexed!

http://i615.photobucket.com/albums/tt237/Lamping3/disney%20on%20ice/102.jpg

Next up was Nemo which I thought she would love...I don't think she quite got it or she was jus mesmorized!

http://i615.photobucket.com/albums/tt237/Lamping3/disney%20on%20ice/109.jpg

The sharks Bruce, Anchor and Chum come out and then Nemo is reunited with his dad!

http://i615.photobucket.com/albums/tt237/Lamping3/disney%20on%20ice/120.jpg

Mickey and Minnie are back. Stitch comes out with a rose......

http://i615.photobucket.com/albums/tt237/Lamping3/disney%20on%20ice/129.jpg

http://i615.photobucket.com/albums/tt237/Lamping3/disney%20on%20ice/131.jpg

This leads into the story of Beauty and the Beast!

Dave took quite a few good pics here. Amelia hasn't watched this movie enough to "get it" but she still enjoyed seeing the skating.

Amelia still intently watching.

http://i615.photobucket.com/albums/tt237/Lamping3/disney%20on%20ice/146.jpg

The Beast as human! I wish we would have gotten a pic of Gaston. As soon as he came out I exclaimed how puny he looked. I would have thought they could have stuffed the costume with some sort of muscles. I apoligize for my lack of pics. Some didn't turn out good because of the fast movement on the ice.

http://i615.photobucket.com/albums/tt237/Lamping3/disney%20on%20ice/147.jpg

http://i615.photobucket.com/albums/tt237/Lamping3/disney%20on%20ice/149.jpg

Next up was the rest of the princesses. We got pics of most of them but some were not too good. They were moving too fast or we got back shots. We saw Cinderella and Prince Charming, Ariel and Eric, Pocohontas and John Smith, Snow White and her Prince, There might have been more but I don't have pics. Their part was not too big.

Here are pics of Amelia's favorite "Mermaid" as she calls her.

http://i615.photobucket.com/albums/tt237/Lamping3/disney%20on%20ice/153.jpg

I will leave you with that tonight! I am starting to get tired and I am sure I am not making much sense now and probably making a lot of typos! Hopefully I can get more pics up tomorrow!

It's official.....As of last night I booked flights on Airtran. We are flying in on December 1st leaving StL at noon! Our return flight is December 10th at 2:50.

I got to book 2 extra nights! :dance3:I booked us at All-Star Movies December 1st and 2nd! I couldn't be more excited!

I also booked a ADR at BOMA at 9 am on the 2nd. We will be attending MVMCP that night. We have not bought any extra park tickets. I think exploring AKL Wednesday am and then doing MVMCP in the evening we will be all set. I plan on cancelling the ADR for Boma for the 10th so we have time to hit DTD before our flight leaves.

I have also looked into staying at a hotel close to our airport (even though we only live ~20 minutes away) and one said they would do a room/park package for $79. I am sure that will be cheeper than parking alone plus we would get a free shuttle to the airport and free breakfast!

i say the hotel deal sounds good, cant get airport parking much cheaper than that.

for your ME pick up time, it will prob be between 3 and 3 1/2 hours before your flight leaves so it might not leave a ton of time to go to DTD...

I know...I think for our honeymoon we didn't prepay for parking through expedia and it was over $150:scared1:. Kinda shocking when you are getting home from an overnight flight VERY early in the morning.

I also think leaving in a hotel shuttle we will be a little less stressed. I can't imagine getting all of our baggage and Amelia and not loosing/leaving something. Those shuttle drivers at the parking lots are usually in quite a hurry!

We should have just enought time to do DTD....I figuered we would just pick up last minute items that we saw earlier in the week! And maybe eat a very early lunch.....I might change it though....I am thinking a character breakfast at Chef Mickey's might be just the way to send us off.

:cool1:As of yesterday Dave and I are official I phone owners!

We went yesterday....the 1st day we could upgrade with our phone plan and got our phones. We spent FOREVER in there because we also signed up for ATT cable and internet service. (The service we have now is pretty crappy! I keep loosing my connection on the internet. That makes it hard dising!) I think the person helping us was VERY glad he got us....lots'o commision!

At first I was skeptical. (I am not tech advanced AT ALL). I am not used to the touchpad and it has been hard for me to click on the right letter/button.....my fingers are not that big at all!
I went to set up my voicemail yesterday and it asked me for a pin password. I put my numbers in and then when I went to access it later my numbers wouldn't work!!!!! I was very frustrated. Luckily Dave fixed it.

:woohoo::woohoo:Last night I found some apps that made me VERY excited. I got a WDW times app that will show you times for opening/closing/parade/shows each day. This will be very helpful for our trip. I also got a WDW dining app that goes through each park and lists dining options....it even has menus and pricing! My last app is park maps. I haven't gotten to play with it much but it looks pretty cool! It has a GPS that will show you where you are on the map!

Since we are flying our next decision is do we take the carseat for Amelia or not? I know she would be safer from turbulence in the carseat (she has her own seat) but I am thinking logistically here and getting us and all of our stuff through security and on the plane does not sound like much fun including a carseat. Then we have to decide where to put it in the room....also since we will be switching rooms. I don't know if it will just be more of a hassle. I don't even know if our carseat will fit the airplane. I guess that is the first thing I need to check. If it doesn't we won't be buying another.

So it's an official thumbs down for the WDW park map app that I downloaded. For some reason the Epcot and AK maps don't show up. I wish they would work because there is a cool thing that you can mark just your top priority attractions and check them off as you do them!

I have been looking at our schedule for the next two months and I am starting to get very stressed out. I don't know how I am going to get everything done in time. We only have 1 weekend between now and our vacation without something to do.

I work every other weekend which kinda stinks......

This weekend I work

Next weekend we go to the Lake with my husband's Dad and Stepmom.

Work

Our only weekend free

Work

Baby shower Saturday/Engagement Party Sunday

Work

I go to IL for my Nephews' birthdays and Dave stays in STL to work

I work....Dave goes Deer Hunting and my parents come to StL to watch Amelia

Amelia's birthday party weekend

Thanksgiving

Work 4 days (Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday) and then leave for DISNEY!

Phew! It all should go by pretty fast! Especially once November gets here.

Sorry for my rant....I just needed to vent....Thanks for listening.....Now I have to get ready for work (I work one Friday night a month).

Hopefully I will have some time to get more Disney on Ice pics up this weekend!

I have been practicing my posting on my I phone and I think I will be able to do some updates on it while we are in Disney! It is kinda hard to add the Smilies in but that is ok.

In other news I bought our tickets for MVMCP. We will be attending December 3rd. I had originally thought I saw a party on the 2nd but I must have been dreaming! I hope the party is not too crowded.....the automated person on the phone said that night was almost sold out.

I am currently planning for Amelia's 2nd birthday party. We are planning on having it either November 22 or 21. I can't decide if a Saturday or Sunday party would be better......Sunday and I have Saturday to do last minute things....Saturday and we have Sunday to recover. It will just be immediate family again this year.....being so close to Thanksgiving makes it hard to do more than one party and a large party too. I guess she will get one big week long party 2 days after her real birthday (November 29th). I have stuff for her invites, I got a kit....it was actually a wedding kit for 50% off at michaels Plus I had a 50% coupon so that was a score. I am thinking cupcakes with chocolate shaped mickey heads on top....some with red bows and some without! I found some cool stuff at the party store for decorations! Oh yeah did I mention it would be a Mickey Mouse theme this year? Most of the stuff I found was Mickey Mouse Clubhouse stuff but I guess it will work! I promise to have pics up of whatever I do.

I just hope Amelia doesn't scream during the 2 hour flight! I told Dave he would need to do laps with her around the airport terminal so she would be nice and tired for the flight (we leave at her normal naptime). I need to look into this CARES thing...I have heard many mention it.

We still haven't bought our tickets for the MVMCP. We are planning to go on my birthday the 29th :woohoo: I hope it works out, but if it happens to be bad weather I DO NOT want to be there, and if it's a sold out party not sure if we want to go either. Mel and I have discussed it and decided that we were going to wait until closer to time. Just hope we don't end up disappointed! But with our schedule we do have the option to go Sunday, Tues. or Thurs which is good :thumbsup2

And BTW your list of 'things to do' on the weekends makes our trip seem VERY close!! I'm so EXCITED and can't wait!!!

We got our MVMCP tickets in the mail earlier in the week:banana:. It is so exciting because getting this stuff makes everything more "official".

I am currently stressed out because I have a sick toddler on my hands! Yesterday after her nap Amelia woke up with a little rattly breathing. I gave her a benadry and figuered it was because I was doing some cleaning. I figured if it got worse I would give her a nebulizer treatment. After dinner we went to Dave's parents house where she was playing ok but still was rattly. When we got home Dave went to give her a bath and I was planning to give her a neb treatment afterwards. She got worse so quickly.....started breathing rapidly and it was like she couldn't catch her breath. I started the treatment before her bath but it wasn't doing much. We heard the "bark" cough and I knew she had croup. We got her dressed and went to the urgent care her in town (luckily Dave works for the hospital that the urgent care is through and does maintence for their building so as soon as someone saw him they took us back). They gave her a dose of steroids and nebulized saline and before we left her breathing was not as labored. We got her home and she slept through the night well. We set up the pack n play in our room so we could hear her better....she slept....I didn't I kept waking up to check on her!

On a happier note....I just ordered Amelia some new clothes for fall! I have learned that going to the store with her is not fun and that online shopping is the way to go! I got some capris and short sleeves for our trip (I have no idea what the weather will be!) on super sale!

We are almost 2 months away!

Hello! I am reading your PTR and loving it. Your daughter is beautiful! We are taking our DD for the first time next September for her 4th birthday. I cannot wait! :)

We were looking at staying at the WL but when more relatives decided they wanted to go too, we had to look at a moderate level to make it doable for everyone. Next time we will have to stay at the WL--it looks so amazing! I will be looking forward to seeing what you say about it come December.

We are also driving it--from Michigan! :rotfl: I know everyone will think we are crazy once they learn that we are but it was going to be over $2,000 for us to fly when it was just five of us now its up to 11. That's not including any luggage fees! Yikes--I rather save the money for fun stuff to do in Disney!!

Looking forward to reading more. (I am only through the first page or two).

Welcome! I am warning you this PTR is pretty boring so far!:lmao:

We are not driving anymore.....I scored flights for $82 each way per person so that ended up being closer or cheeper than flying....plus we got an extra 2 days in WDW!

Keep watching flights.....they will probably go down closer to your dates. Check to see if Airtran is at your local airport...that is where we scored our cheep flights! If not I highly recommend getting the book "The Next Exit" we found it near the maps at our local Barnes and Noble. It has every exit on each major highway and what is at each exit.....very helpful even with a GPS! You are able to look what is comming at the next few stops before you decide where to stop.

We will probably have to "downgrade" to a moderate once we have more kiddos and we have to start paying for Amelia.....we wanted to stay high on the hog while we could! I am afraid though that we will be spoiled and not want to stay anywhere else.

I have been away from the boards for a while....well I have been checking things on my phone but it is not easy to post from there. Amelia came down with croup Wed night and we took her to urgent care. She acted better Thursday night until it was time for bed. I was at work and Dave called....she was crying and gasping in the background. Luckily it was almost time for my relief to come in so I waited anxiously and finally got to leave. By the time I got home she was asleep. Dave had given her a breathing treatment and she was fast asleep. We decided Dave would stay home from work the next day because his work is a little more lenient on taking days off for sick kids. Fast forward to 2 am. She woke up again in the same state crying and gasping for air. We did all the tricks took her outside.....in the steamy bath....gave her another nebulizer treatment. Finally in the second round of steamy bath she fell asleep. Dave and I decided that we needed to take her to the ER because she shouldn't be worse that the day before.

Luckily we got the best doctor in the world at the ER. He was soooo nice. He said that her steroid dose was too low for her weight (stupid me I should have checked the dose....but you don't think of things like that). We got her the correct dose and she got a nebulizer treatment of something that she had to stay in the ER for 4 hours to make sure she was ok. Finally we got discharged at 8am and got to go home. Both Dave and I stayed home that day.

Dave fell asleep on the couch and I thought I would take Amelia up to our room to lay down with her (she looked ready for a nap). She says to me "Bugs?" So I picked up our portable DVD player to set on the nightstand so she could watch the movie while I layed down and I dropped it!:scared1: I have never been so mad a myself......the screen is damaged...it looks cracked but the outside is fine so it must be something with the inner workings. I can't decide if I want to spend the $$ for a new one or not since we are not driving now. We did use it a lot when we are upstairs taking showers or doing something upstairs.

Amelia is doing lots better now and she will be going back to daycare tomorrow!

Hopefully I can get our revised itenary up this week....Wednesday....my day off.

I did check Airtran a few days ago, the rates are not that far out in advance. I tried to price out in May and July to check and they are going to be about $700 before checking luggage. That's a lot to add to our budget at this point. I think I will keep an eye out on them just in case. Though DH and I really like the idea of driving it at this point. :car:

I will definitely check out the The Next Exit book. Thank you for the recommendation!

I don't think your PTR is boring! I am enjoying it. Looking forward to the next installment. :surfweb:

I hope Amelia is feeling better now!

Have you thought about what it is going to cost to drive? We estimated about $300 for gas plus we were staying in 3 hotels on they way down and at least 2 on the way back.....our plane tickets are just under $600 for the 3 of us. Checking a bag is only $15 per bag....(for the first bag.....I haven't found out if it is per person or not) not really that much! So us flying ends up being just at or a little cheeper than driving. We have to stop....Dave has epilepsy so we couldn't make it driving straight through....also we took into the fact that Amelia hasn't been doing too well riding in the car lately!

We were originally excited to drive too.....but Amelia not doing well in the car and being able to squeeze 2 extra days in at WDW made flying seem better.

Amelia is doing much better! She still has a cough but it is nothing like it was last week!

I have been really busy lately.....we are having a garage sale along with our subdivision Saturday and I have been going through everything in the house. Anyone in need of baby girl items.....I will give you my address!:lmao:

Now that we have everything finalized with our flight and our ADRs I can write up my schedule!

12/1:Depart STL noon arrive in Orlando 3pm (FL time). Hopefully we will be able to get to ASMovies by 5pm. Our choices to do this evening include....DTD or explore the Epcot Resorts and eat CS wherever we feel like it.

12/2: ADR Boma 9am, Explore the AKL. Back to resort for nap and lunch. Evening either at DTD or Epcot resorts.

12/3: Check in to WL. Explore WL.....I was thinking about doing the professional photos at WL for family Christmas photos....I need to be calling if this is what we are going to do. Whispering Canyon Cafe ADR 1:55....I am still trying to get something a little later....2:30 to 3:15? MVMCP at 4pm!

12/4: Hollywood Studios.....ADR Hollywood and Vine 8:10am. Studios opens at 9am. We plan on doing just things Amelia can do....neither Dave or I are big riders so we are happy catering to her! Back to WL for nap! Back to Studios for Osborne Lights!

12/5: Epcot Morning. This will be the morning of firsts! Soarin', Spaceship Earth, Seas with Nemo....I have not seen any of these! We also want to see Living with the Land because Dave has not seen this an I haven't since I was young. I also want to Pick a Pearl in Japan for Amelia and I. We have Reservations at the Biergarten at noon. See a little more of WS then back to room for nap. Chip and Dale Campfire 7pm.

12/6: AK morning. Breakfast with Donald at 8:05am. Hopefully with an earlier evening the night before Amelia will be able to last most of the day without a nap. We have lots to see here....especially Finding Nemo...for our Nemo lovin' little girl! Back to room for late nap. We can go to DTD tonight or just relax!

12/7: Epcot again! If we haven't been able to see the Epcot resorts earlier we might start the morning there. As long as we have seen our top do's in FW we will be spending most of our day in WS as soon as it opens. Dave and I looooove WS. Lunch at LeCellier at 11:40. Back to room for late nap. Evening at MK.

12/8: MK finally! We want to concentrate on Fantasyland and be at Toontown when it opens to see Tink for Amelia! Lunch at CHH. Back to room for a nap. Evening plans are checkin out the GF and Poly decorations. Ohana reservations at 7:05pm and then wishes and Electrical Water Pagent on Poly beach!

12/9: MK again! EMH are this morning....I hope we are well rested! Lunch at Kona at 11:10am....I am thinking about making this later? But it might work out ok because then we can go straight back to WL for nap and be back at MK for our last night!

12/10: Checkout....:sad2: Our flight leaves at 2:50 which leads me to believe that we will be picked up before noon by ME. We might take one more ride on the monorail and stop at the resorts for last minute souviners!

12/11: Laundry:laundy:and TR day!

Amelia does well later at night as long as she has had a decent nap that day so hopefully we can escape back to the resort for that to happen! I am also hoping the time change will help us out with MVMCP so we can stay later than hoped. We opted not to buy any more tickets for our arrival day....we won't get there til 5pm...a waste of $$ if you ask me and our 2nd day because there is so much decorations to see at the resorts plus I loooove me some DTD....I remember when it was Lake Buena Vista! Also this gives us a good idea of how Amelia will be with the new "surroundings".

As of now, it will be more expensive to fly with having to pay for checking luggage and plane tickets. The first night we will stay over with my dad because we need to pick him up anyways--he is coming with us. So it would be a nine hour drive (1 tank of gas) down to southern Georgia with a hotel stay. Then we will be about three hours from POR. No matter how I kept running the numbers, it seems like it will be cheaper to drive it. I am going to keep a look out on airfare--if we can get a good deal (under $500) than look out!!

My garage sale went well this am. I got rid of about 2/3 of the stuff I had up for sale. We had a lot of little stuff including baby things from Amelia....and a lot of her clothes. The majority of the clothes went which I am extremely happy about. I don't want to hang on to that stuff because I HATE clutter! We didn't have anything large. Just some random household items, decorations from when we lived in an apt that do not go with our decor now, and some of Dave's old tool bags and tool stuff. I just have to rant about people though. I am not a barginer. I do not haggle with prices because obviously they have put the prices on for a reason. I had a larger mirror that I had over our couch at one time.....I put $5 on it. This lady kept saying she would give me $2....really? It was a fairly large mirror and it was in perfect condition....just some dust and fingerprints on the glass. She kept this up with everything that we had for sale. It was really annoying. I usually price things pretty low anyway because I want it gone and the stuff I price higher is usually worth more than what I have priced it at. Honestly I have seen much more higher priced "junk" at other sales. Anyway rant over. We ended up making $170 at the sale :woohoo:. That will go into our safe in an envelope for Disney spending cash!

I am off to the Disney web site to check out the picture sessions and see what it will $$$....hopefully we can get one for December 3rd before our MVMCP!

hi! I just read your entire trip report and subscribed. I can't wait to read more. We will be in Disney the same time as you - Poly 12/5-12/13.

* Amelia is so stinking cute! :lovestruc
* I LOVE your t-shirts and custom outfits!
* Your count down is adorable!
* I noticed your cardinal game pics - sad night for us fans! boo hoo:sad1:
* I'm from central IL - but we head 2 hours east to fly AirTran out of Indy (just a tad closer than STL)

There are a million other things running through my head right now but this seems to be all I can get out! haha I'll be back to read more! ;)

Yay!! :cool1: I hope I do not bore you to death on PTR!!

Gotta love spending money for Disney! :cool1: Yay for MVMCP! I am looking forward to hearing reports about that. I am questioning dropping a day off our tickets--right now we have 8 days of park tickets but I am questioning if we will feel up to heading into the parks on Saturday after driving. Also the day we leave. I think dropping at least one day would make sense. Hmmm...what do you think? :confused3

The photography session--I think the pictures would be great if you got a good photographer. I remember reading somewhere someone got a photographer that did not care for kids too much (I know, I know--they work for Disney for goodness sake) and she wished they asked for a different one. She said something to effect--don't be afraid to ask for a different photographer since you are spending the money.

You can't be as boring as me!

You might look at the price difference to see how much the extra day really is. For our trip in 2006 I bought the tickets for my family (parents, sister and BIL and her two sons as well as Dave and I) for Christmas 2005. And we couldn't decide to buy 6 or 7 day park hoppers. When I went out to price them the difference was either 7 or 8 dollars (not per person.....that was the TOTAL difference). I know I have wasted $8 on other things not worth much but I thought it might be beneficial to have that extra day just in case we wanted to go into a park late just to see fireworks or something on our arrival day. Dave and I had an earlier flight so we ended up using all of the days....my parents and my sister's family got in late so theirs was wasted but it wasn't a biggie to me. There might be a bigger difference if you are not getting park hoppers but it would be worth it to check!

I hope we get a good photographer!

I know that the difference is extremely small in the grand scheme of things--I think under $10 for each adult ticket and less for DD's ticket. It may work out to be $20 if we drop down. Hmm...I just looked up in my 2009 Passporter and it says the difference between 7 and 8 day tickets with PH is about $30 per adult ticket! That does not seem right...I think I may jump onto the reservation system and play around with it to see what it says the difference is. If it is the $60 for both adult, that may be worth reconsidering...:confused3

So I jumped onto WDW to play with 8 days versus 7 days---not sure where the Passporter got their numbers but for us to drop from 8 days of tickets with PH to 7 days was only $12 difference for 3 adults and 1 child. Totally not worth it because what if we decide to run in the morning on Saturday before we leave to do a favorite ride? I think we are staying the same.

Thanks for dancin' with me! I can't believe October is half over....time has sure flown by. I can't wait for next week to be over with (not just because we hit the 30's on friday;)) but because we are already 1 technician short at work....one just got let go...and one will be on vacation. I am in for a stressed out week!:scared1: We are already running our hinneys off because we are so busy. It seems like the cold/flu season has started MUCH earlier this year. Anyone else notice this? We usually don't pick up the volume of prescriptions that we have until November at least....this started mid September!

I am sooo glad that we are out of the regular season flu vaccine because that adds so much more work for us! I am not looking forward to us getting the H1N1 vaccine at our store yet! I am also sooo sick of answering the phone and saying "No I am sorry, we are out of the flu vaccine....no, no other store in the STL area has them. We are expecting more in the 3rd or 4th week of November....and no I have no information on when we will be receiving our H1N1 vaccine!:upsidedow. I seriously say that 20+ times per day!

Phew!!!! Sorry about my rant!

In Disney news I paid our remaining balance on our package today!:yay: Our due date is Monday but I wanted to get it paid and over with while I had a chance. My next credit card statement will be super healthy!:rotfl:

Hopefully this weekend I can get pics of Amelia up in her halloween costume...she is going to be Tinkerbell! I also want to see if we can get professional pics of her done to give to our parents....both my parents and his mom and stepdad live away from us so she does not get to go trick-or-treating at their houses. We have a place that we use that just charges for the prints....we have always been happy with their work.

Hope everyone has a great day! This is my Friday night this month to work....plus I work this weekend so I have a case of the BLAHS!

I think I just got the biggest sticker shock of my life. I am not a cheep person by any means but I just found the price of something I was hoping to get while we were in the world and by the looks at it we will not be getting it!!!!!

I am sure everyone has seen the Samantha Brown Disney Christmas show. You the part where she says you can have a tree delivered to your room from Disney floral.....has anyone priced those things!!!!!! The two that are on the website now are around $400 each!!!!:scared1: Yeah....I don't think so. That is more than I am paying per night for my room. :rotfl: I even looked at getting ballons delivered for Amelia's birthday and a Nemo set costs $65....for 2 mylar ballons, a few latex plus a bag of Nemo themed squirt bath toys. I just can't seem justifying the cost when we will not be brining it home with us. I might be ok buying her a mickey shaped ballon in the parks.....Anyone know what they cost now?

Initally when we were driving I was planning on buying a disney themed tree from either Walgreens or Target or even Lowes has some and bringing it down with us. Now that we are flying I won't have room for something like that. I have been reading a thread on decorating your room and the door/window and I am thinking we need to do something like that. At the WL we will not have a window in the hallway but I was thinking if I could make a wreath of some sort to put on our door that would be really neat.

Ebay has some on sale that I guess were at the disney store last year. They would be $50 with shipping. I think I would be able to fashion a wreath in the shape of a mickey head myself and buy those lights with the batteries to put on it. Anyone got any ideas?

We are getting Amelia's pics taken tonight in her halloween costume so I hope to have those up soon!

Holy smoke! That is very expensive for the Christmas tree!! We were considering getting a bouquet of balloons for DD on her birthday too. With those prices, we will have to really think hard about it! I was also considering getting ears done for everyone with their relationship to DD on it but I wonder how much they would cost for the Disney Floral to have them done. I think I probably will price them out through them but I am anticipating ordering them from Disney Shopping and making up the little welcome bags prior to going down or when we get there.

I think picking up a tree from home prior to going down would be smart. You can ship things down to Disney and pick them up when you get there. As long as you are not staying at the convention hotels than they do not charge a handling fee for them. That would help solve the problem of the plane and I shudder to think how they would handle it anyways. Good luck! I will be curious to know what you decide. :surfweb:

I had to look at the Disney Floral website again to confirm what I saw before.....one tree is $295 and it is 40inches tall.....pretty large if you ask me. The other is the Neverland tree and it is the one that is $395. Still we will not be getting either. I thought the one on the Samantha Brown special was really small....like tabletop size. They don't show that on the website now....maybe closer to time.

******************************************

I updated my signature to include Amelia's Halloween costume pics. She was horrible during the photo shoot. She wouldn't get in the picture area and just wanted to be held. Everytime we tried to put her there she just cried......I am nervous we are doing 2 year pics in a couple of weeks so they are ready for her party. Any suggestions on getting a 2 year old to stand for pics? Once the photographer got the balloon out she did a little better....seriously these were the BEST shots we had. In most of them she looked like she was crying.

Can't wait for tomorrow....I get to do my "I'm in the 30's" dance!!!!!

:banana::banana:Here is my half-way throug the 30s dance!!!!

We got our new Tinkerbell movie in the mail yesterday and Amelia and I watched it this morning! It is so cute. They finally reference Neverland and I am hoping that they eventually tell us how she got involved with Peter Pan.

I am kinda PO'd with disney shopping though. I preordered the movie this summer....I needed about $20 to get over the $89 to be eligible for $5 shipping. All of my other items were shipped earlier. I assumed I paid for the movie....actually I know I paid for the movie when I ordered. Monday I noticed a $21 something charged to my credit card from Disney shopping. When I looked at the invoice in the box with the movie that $21 something was the S/H charge.....REALLY!!!! If I would have known I would have been charged that much for shipping and handling I would have just bought the movie at Target or something. I assumed my $5 shipping fee back this summer covered the movie being delievered too. I can't wait to get Disney shopping on the phone!

No real news on the trip planning front. I have been getting my tolietries in order and making sure we have everything needed for that. I hope to make it to the Dollar store today to find something Christmas themed for our room!

We are getting so close and I am starting to get really nervous that something is going to go wrong!!

That is ridiculous! Let us know what they say when you call them.

So after calling Disney shopping they explained that the $21 was the charge for the movie. They stated that I didn't pay for the movie in June. I had to call the Disney rewards to see what was taken off of my rewards card at that time. They were right I wasn't charged for the movie at the time....my bad.

They really need to look into the wording on their packing slip though.

It goes something like this....

1 S/H Tink Lost Treasures DVD.........19.99
(1) Tink and the Lost Treasures DVD.....0.00
(1) TBell Lost treasures clip.................0.00

total with tax..................................21.35

I assumed the s/h stood for shipping and handling? The invoice online makes no sense either. The 19.99 is listed twice....but in the end it doesn't add up to the right amount. Oh well.....disney rewards confirmed they didn't overcharge me in June so all is well!

Thanks for the info! The tree is super cute. We are going to Target or Walmart today and I am going to look there. I have noticed that everyone is getting all of their christmas stuff out! I am starting to get so overwhelmed......eventhough I have not done anything recently.....I keep thinking there is something I am missing!

*************************************************

Sorry I have been kinda MIA recently.......it is going to get worse! This weekend Amelia and I go to my parents for my nephews' birthdays. The next weekend Dave goes hunting......The next is Amelia's party (which I still have done NOTHING for) then we are packing for Disney the next weekend!

I am kinda bummed because Airtran changed our flight home. We now have a hour and 40 minute layover in Atlanta and we leave Orlando 50 minutes earlier! I am still getting nervous about how Amelia will do on the plane. Dave and I have downloaded videos on our iphones.....does anyone know if we are able to use them in flight? I thought you had to keep your cell phone off. This will help a lot because of our broken DVD player and if we get a new one we won't have to add that to our carryon luggage.

Only 27 days left!!!!:dance3::dance3:

I know what you mean about overwhelmed--seriously. Atlanta isn't too bad of an airport, it's huge, lots of places to walk around and window shop--I used to fly in there on my way to Chicago for work.

The iphone has an airplane mode--here's the link from apple support that will tell you how to use it(i'm still so super jealous that you have an iphone, but I did try to see if the ATT coverage would work here at home and we have zilch, nada, zip. The coverage area for them has always been the worst here in the mtns of NC, so I'll have to wait :( )

Are you going back to the same place for her two year old photos? You might start preparing her leading up to them regardless. We will tell Lilian that we are taking to get her photos taken and what do you think you want to wear type questions to get her excited for them. Do you have it planned at, generally, at a good time for her? Make sure you have snacks and drinks just in case. Under the lights can be pretty warm so I try to make sure we give her a break every few minutes or so.

Target has some pretty cute things up already for Christmas--including smaller trees in all kinds of fun colors (if you like a non-traditional green tree). I just was there today. I am debating on getting Lilian two Disney Christmas cds for her stocking or just because before Christmas for driving around. I love holiday music!!

She is getting Tinkerbell for Christmas from my Dad. I am glad to know it is good. She LOVED  the first one so hopefully that will be a hit with her too. She is also getting Snow white. :goodvibes

just wanted to let you know that walmart put out little tiny ball ornaments that are Disney themed--I didn't get a pic but there are 6 and I think they are under 5.00--I found some princess mini ornaments at CVS and I believe they had some regular disney character ones too. I am so overwhelmed right now!!!! I have spent the whole day cleaning and doing laundry before my parents arrive tomorrow. I also made LOTS of cookies for Dave to take with him to the cabin. Dave is leaving tomorrow to go deer hunting so my parents are comming to stay with Amelia. I work Thursday and Friday night and Saturday and Sunday morning. I really need to get to the party store to get some decorations for Amelia's party and we need to get the cake ordered! Maybe those are things I can do after work this weekend? I need to get a pic up of our invites....they turned out super cute!!!

Next Wednesday we need to take Amelia to the picture place to get her pics taken so they are ready to hand out at the party....Cross your fingers for us!

Packing? I haven't even thought about packing!!!!! I probably will wait until the weekend before after all of this birthday maddness is done.

We will see if I get time tonight and I will upload pics from my nephews birthday party the past weekend.

Mr Potato head box

new potholders and kitchen towels for us

Christmas ornaments from WS for my inlaws and Dave's granparents

Candy from WS for an elderly friend of the family

Mickey ears for Amelia

Frank the Combine from the Cars movie for my nephew Logan

Some Star Wars legos for Logan

And more that I can't think of right now!!!!

I'm not sure that Amelia is old enough for the my pony, unless you just buy her the ponies and not the accessories, a friend of mines DD got one and the pieces are ittty bitty, like the size of a dime or smaller (not all of them, but definitely alot of them) A definite choking hazzard.

We got Amelia's 2 year pics done last night and she did MUCH better than I expected. I had M&Ms in my bag and I would give her a couple in betoween each shot. Worked great. They had Santa there and we waited until the end to get her pic with him.....she went to tears right away....that was the end of the session. But we did get some great shots out of it. I had them start with some family shots to warm her up.

I think I might just get the costumes and the larger items....I think there is a bed and other items like that. If I get the smaller pieces they will be put away until she is a little older or if Dave or I are playing with her. I think they have costumes......we will have to be playing with her to help her get the costumes on and off!

I am looking forward to the shopping too! My Little Pony: Lilian has been playing with them for awhile now (she just turned three). She probably started at about 2 years old. She loves to brush their tails and such. You can always get some and put them up if you think some of the pieces are too small.

We have a similar shopping list. :) I want to get Mickey Ears (for the three of us since we have never gotten a set before), My Little Pony Accessories, Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head Pieces among many others I am sure that will end up on our list.

I'ts party day!!!! I just thought I would write a quick note.......my house is clean.....Amelia is down for a nap......the food prep is done....and I have 2 hours and 45 minutes until guests arrive. I hope to have pics from the party up tonight or tomorrow....I need to make sure my memory card is clean before we leave.

Last night I was watching Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice (My DVR records them because I work on Thursday nights). They showed the previews for the next episode and they said it would air in 2 weeks......I realized where I would be during that showing......you guessed it in DISNEY WORLD!!!!!!!!!! I got so excited realizing that and Dave didn't understand!

10 days to go!!!!! I can't wait! I am planning on putting our Christmas stuff out tomorrow after I clean up the party mess so that all of our decorations will be up when we get back!

So I FINALLY get a moment to sit down at the computer and download Amelia's birthday party pics for everyone to see. For some reason the screen that prompts you to download them is not popping up! (for those of you who do not know I am not a computer person......I don't know how else to download them). Dave took Amelia to visit his grandma so I could have some time to myself on the computer....he is the computer person so now I have to wait until he comes back to see if he can fix the problem.

I finally started packing last night. I had found some travel space bags at the dollar store and let me tell you they are AWESOME!!!!!!!! I wanted to try to get at least 5 outfits for each of us in our 2 carryon bags.....I more than succeded! I don't want to use them for my checked bag because it is rather large and it is easy to get it over 50lbs with out compressing anything. Now I have to just wait for Dave to get home so we can start packing his stuff.....and I need to do laundry for some of our stuff.

It hasn't really sunk in yet that my trip is so soon! I can't wait for Tuesday!:yay:

I think I have all of our clothes packed.....I still have some stuff that needs washing.....socks! I also want to make sure the majority of my laundry is done before I leave so we just have vacation stuff to wash when we return.

I am so ready to be on the plane too! I still have to get through work tomorrow and Monday though.

I was soooo happy when I found the space bags....I think they were at a Deals....do you have one of those in your area? They were $5 for a box with 2....one larger and one smaller. I fit about 5 outfits for Amelia in the smaller one and 4 for me 3 for Dave in a larger one for each of us. I also got some cheep knockoffs from Garden Ridge before I found the space bag brand.....let me just say they are CR*P! They don't even release the air right.....I hope I still have the receipts I might take them back!

Luckily Dave has been off so I have been able to send him on all my errands. He went to the petstore and made Amelia dogtags that say her name and both of our cell phone numbers....now I just need to find a necklace or something to put them on. I was really proud of him.....he came back with the heart shaped ones with pink rinestones on them....they turned out pretty cute!

I will probably do some updates from my phone while we are there.

I have been back since Thursday night but I haven't had a chance to get on the computer!!!! These last few days have been very busy!!!! I have tackled the laundry pile and done all of our unpacking. Dave has been attending to a family crisis. We have been trying to get Amelia back into her old routine. To top it all off I came down with a sore throat Friday and got head cold symptoms yesterday afternoon.....all I could do was lay on the couch so as to not be dizzy! Dave and I hope to be going Christmas shopping today to finish up everyone but we are waiting on his Mom to call us back.....it is so much easiser to shop with out Amelia.

Anyway back to the trip....we had so much fun! We are throwing around the idea of going back October! It was so nice to be able to enjoy my family and see Amelia's reactions to everything! I hope to get my TR started soon so I can share the over 1000 pics with everyone! We have so many geat memories and I can't wait to get them down so they are remembered. Hi!

Your daughter is adorable! My daughter is also named Amelia (we call her Mimi for short), and our daughters are only 10 months apart in age! I don't hear the name Amelia often (one reason why I picked the name), so I had to say HI to another Mom with a daughter named Amelia.

I may have rambled there, sorry! LOL
