Cat. 7 is a Navigators verandah, which is an enclosed-type verandah. It's hard to explain...check out the photos on my website at www.*****************
Cat. 6 is a "regular" verandah.

Hi there! The Category 6 (and 5) staterooms have open verandahs, with wide open views of the sea. They have plexiglass covering from the railing down (except for some at the aft of the ship that have solid coverings) and they are completely open from the railing up. The verandahs have a small table and two chairs.
The Category 7 Navigator Verandah staterooms have totally enclosed verandahs with a built-in bench and a large OPEN porthole window. Instead of it being open from the top of the railing up you are enclosed with the window.
This link will give you the views from the Navigator's Verandah so you can see what I am trying to describe. :D

Hope that helps! :D

Category 7 staterooms hold up to three passengers. There are category 5 and 6 staterooms that hold up to four passengers.
