I am really siked:cool1: I just recieved an email pincode for 40% off for most stays 7/1/0- 7/31/09. It says Make your Birthday Celebration into a sweet vacation! I registered on the WDW site for the free on your bday deal and I already have Poly CL booked for 7/1 to 7/7 with 35% off code for general public. This new code now saves me an additional $250.

This may be a way to get your own pincode once and for all. I'm not sure if there are different offers, but mine was for 40% off a resort stay. I went to register a couple of months ago for the birthday park ticket.

I think this will work for others, too. I would register for your birthday ticket to see what happens.

Maybe, others will chime in about their birthday offers, here.

I'm going in December with the Goofy free DP offer and I won't be using this one.

Man, I wish my daughter could get a code! We're probably taking her for her 4th b-day in November, regardless of a deal, but even if I do register her, that code will be lost to the 'age requirement for making reservations'!

Good for you! :goodvibes

If Disney allows you to register for it, Disney Destinations may automatically generate these e-mail promos regardless of age.

If you get a pincode in your daughter's name, they should allow you to act in her behalf.

I actually just recieved another pin code for my daughter as well. We share the same birthday so I registered her for the get in free on your birthday too. They sent her birthday code to me as well. So now I have two pin codes:lmao: So it seems if you register a child you can still book with this code. Wish I could share one with someone who needs it.

I registered all of our family members when it first came out because we knew we were going this year, but weren't sure of dates. We actually will be there for my birthday. I really hope I get one of these birthday codes, as it would allow me to get a better resort!

Do you receive these through your email? Our son's 13th birthday is in July and we registered for the birthday free when it first came out. Haven't received any emails though. We just got back from Disney on Monday. I wonder if you go often if they won't send you a discount. We already have ressies for October.

Just wondering.

TOO funny, I just checked my email and I got the 40% off. They did however spell my son's name wrong.

Yes they both came via email. I also had a trip booked for july when I received this code. We have also been to WDW every year since 2002 staying onsite each time.

Sweet! It sounds like you all are celebrating summer birthdays - so I am guess that these codes are going out around 60 days prior to the birthday time. (maybe? :confused3 ). Ava's b-day is in early November. I know that's a low-tide attendance time, so I am hopeful we'll get a code, too! DH just told me this morning that we definitely can go, if I can make it work $-wise. I guess I should register now...:thumbsup2

I got that pincode today too for the July dates--I registered back in December when the promotion was released. I wont be using the pin as we went in March and are leaving in a couple of weeks for an anniversary trip. (My husband says that disney 5 trips in one year would be excessive!)

No pin code for my son, his birthday is the end of June. I registered him and am planning to go, but will be staying off site. I would love to get this pin and be able to stay on site. Here's hoping!

I registered mine and my dd (Aug) birthday and didn't receive a discount code - but I'm a DVC member, maybe that affects it? But that's assuming that the WDW system can cross-check information like that, that would be incredible if it could!

I was grateful I received a better code for us earlier; so, I didn't use this one. What's worse it was only good for the exact week of the birthday; that's it. Another post stated they had the whole birthday month for dates.

I doubt if too many will get more than a month's notice on this pin code.

I just got a pin code in my name yesterday valid from 6/1 - 6/8 because I registered my daughter whose 14th birthday is 6/3. It was for 40% off select resorts. I rented DVC points which turned out to be really cheap. But had I known I would get a 40% off pincode I definitely would have waited!

Not sure if this will happen to everyone but I hope it does!

DS's b-day is Aug 8th.....registered back in the day and still no pin code.

My DS birthhtday is also 8/8...just a few days ago ( Friday)I called and booked CR for 3 nights on the 35% code, I was out and about so called from my cell to make ressies. Got home and checked my email...low and behold there was a PIN for MY birthday which is 7/7. ( dates if stay 7/1-7/31) I called right back, explaining that I had just booked a stay, that I rec'd a code for my bday, but we were arriving 8 days later than the code dates for DS Bday. CM had me read her the series of #'s on my PIN, checked and said they would be valid for the August dates we had just booked, saving me an additional $400 ( CR MK view) over the 3 nights!:woohoo: I think DS must be in line to receive a PIN, and that is how we were able to apply my code for his dates. Hang in there everyone, technically I rec'd the PIN for my bday only 12 days prior to my actual birthday, so you may still be receiving one! We are going to be there before FD starts as well, and there seems to be a lot of resort availability that week,,,except for the opening of BLT...so maybe that has something to do with our dates being honored as well?:confused3
Good luck everyone!

I received this email a couple of days ago. I had registered my fiance's birthday and though the email was addressed to me, it said his name. According to the email, the pin code, for 40% off moderates, is good for all but one night in August -the night we check in. When I called for a price quote with the pin, I could have sworn the CM said that it was good for basically the rest of the year. No plans for a second trip this year. The code would save me $7 from our B4G3 package. Not worth the hassle ohanging/modifying the reservation

For those of you who have received birthday PINS it seems that they are being received after the date that you would have paid off your package (if you are travelling for your birthday). So how does Disney apply the discount - do they give you a refund?

FINFAN
06-23-2009, 08:11 PM
The Bday PIN is a room only code...so it does not require a package, tho you can certainly add dining and tix if you prefer. By keeping it room only, you have the usual 5 or 6 days before arrival to cancel, You are correct if you add and book a package tho, you are no longer outside the 45 day mark so should be sure of your plans. If ( as I think you are asking) you are applying the code to existing paid off ressies, then yes, WDW would credit you back. Easier if going to a credit card, quicker. If paid in cash, I would call and ask the proceedure.

We already have a package booked for October, arriving on my DH's birthday. By the sounds of it, if we get a code we will have already paid for our package, so I wondering how this would work? :confused3 Would they apply it towards the room portion of our package & refund us? Of course I'm putting the cart way before the horse here ... :rolleyes1 (hoping we actually get the code)

maybe calculate 40% of the room rate for your ressie...and hold back that amount to pay at arrival? That way if you do get a code, you are already apid in full, if not, you have it set aside anyway and can just pay once you chek in. That's what I would do ( I would call WDW and get their calculations of taking 40% off , just to make sure)
Have a great trip!

Good suggestion, but I don't think it would work. With the package you have to pay your balance in full 45 days before your arrival.

Just got the birthday PIN yesterday for DH's October birthday. It stated it was good for the entire month of October, but from the new price our TA gave us, I believe it covered the last night of our stay, which is 11/1, as well. We already had a 40% off PIN from January, but that didn't include the last weekend, so this saved us an additional $87.60! Total price for 8 nights at CBR with 9 day park hoppers for two is now down to $1660.34!:yay:

Also, someone asked what happens if you've already paid off the trip. We paid the balance off last month and our TA said Disney was refunding the $87.60 back to our credit card.

Congrats on the pin! I guess I'll start watching now for one for my DH, though I'm not going to get too excited about getting one (since it seems that not everyone with a registered birthday has received one).

It was also me that asked about what happens if you've already paid off your trip. Thanks for the info!

Free dining is a better deal than 40% off the room rate for Poly? I did the calculation for us (in case we get the pin - can't blame a girl for planning!) and 35% or 40% off worked out to be a better deal for us than the free dining we already have. Mind you our oldest will be 18 when we go and counts as an extra adult in the room (making the rate on the room higher). Unless I messed up the math (which isn't out of the realm of possibility!)

I agree, I registered DH for his August birthday and we have not gotten anything. We could use it as we wanted to add on a day before and after our DVC stay. We can get an AP discount for the day before, but was hoping for the 40% off a value (2 rooms).

Yep free dining is the better deal our dates are Aug 16-23 at the Poly. Room only rate would be $2796 less 40 % = $1677.60 for a savings of $1118.40. Dining Plan for 5 adults for 7 nights is $1399.65. Dining plan costs more than room savings by $281.25, therefore making Free Dining the better deal. No can't blame a girl for planning, I was hoping it would help us, but I have ran the numbers backward and forward, and the CM is right :( :thumbsup2 First Pin Code too.

Ok, makes sense now. I forgot that August is value season vs regular when we're there at the end of October. We also upgraded to MK view, so that adds a lot to the room cost. Glad that I'm not completely losing my mind! :rotfl: (I know math isn't my best subject, but thought I could at least crunch some numbers!) Sorry you couldn't use your pin. That's a drag. We've currently got free dining thanks to a pin my sister received (we got it too since our reservations are linked). Still holding out for that birthday pin. A 40% code would save us an additional $1000 over the free dining.

I'm obsessed with getting a bday pin code for my DH's Sept bday.... I just registered him at disneyworld.com, and ordered the free planning video.... anything else I can do to up my chances of receiving a 40% off bday pin for our Sept trip!?! If we got this, I would be very very tempted to upgrade to Poly as a surprise for his bday! Right now, I have 6 nights booked at POR and 1 night booked at Poly *that he doesnt know about*. Am I to understand that, if we were to receive this 40% off pin, that we could get the Poly for around $214 a night (which is 40% off of rack rate of $355), for a total of around $1500 for a week?!?!?! Oh please please please, let me get this pin!!!!!! It would make for the best bday ever for him to stay at Poly the whole trip!!
