5 nights in the Grand! Wedding, Family and FUN!UPDATED 9/5/09!

Well this trip report is LONG over due! My sister got married at the best place on earth!!!!

Please dont ask yourself whats the best place on earth, because we all know its
Disney World!!!!!!!:woohoo:

This trip was honestly a big deal, not only was my beautiful sister getting married, but my family was all coming in town for this event. So it was like a family reunion and wedding at the same time. But the most spectacular thing was that we were staying in a large room at the Grand Floridian for 5 nights. A dream of ours since we were very young!

It was very special to my family and I, we absolutely LOVE DW!

So enjoy this TR as I welcome my family and vacation onto your PC.

DAY 1!
So we left on Wednesday October 1st 2008.
I had class that morning, so I went to class and then went home and we packed up the van with luggage and dresses and everything we can actually fit in this van.

My momma and Me, my mom loves disney as well, Id have to say her fav character is Mickey Mouse! ( maybe more than my father hahaha lol jk:rotfl: )
I am on the phone checking on reservations for Yachtsmans Steak House at the Yacht Club for that night.
Now if you dont know me, I am 23 years old, college student studying medicine to be a PA, physician asst. Id like to work in Cardiology. My favorite character is Daisy Duck(i like to think we are bff's lol lol:rotfl:)
I am another lover of DW and I just convinced my boyfriend, Scott of 6 years that we must get married in Disney as well lol.
Watch out for a Wedding Planning Journal to come lol.

Soooo, hours later we arrived to The Grand Floridian and just about screamed when my father told the guard gate we are checking in. :scared1::banana::cool1:

I like got off the van and did this --->:worship:
PRAISE WALT DISNEY!

My father and I checked in while my mother and sister watched the bell boys unload the van with our massive stuff!

In the end it took us 4 caddies! 4 whole caddies!

So its now about 5pm, and we check in our room, I litterally start crying and hug my dad because without him this trip wouldnt have been possible!:love:

We called this Dinner our final FOUR..Noone else had gotten to DW yet and we wanted a quiet dinner with just us 4 before all the chaos began!

Our dinner was nice and quiet and relaxing, we laughed and talked all through out dinner. I give this restaurant 2 thumbs up!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2
The steak is out of this world!
We got some delicious alcholic beverages and we cheered to a fun spectacular week.
Our waiter was very sweet and brought us a special dessert plate to congratulate my sister getting married.

-LOL- No dixie mae had to stay at a different resort "the kennel" lol but we missed her at night lol. It would be cool if Disney had a resort where you can bring your fur babies! Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoy it.

The GF is amazing, I hope you get to stay there again, I hope I get to stay there again. Honestly being at the GF is an experience like no other. Even if you can stay for 1 night, do it up. It makes the whole disney experience amazing.

Day 2!

Ok so here is Day 2!

So after a fun night on Day 1! We got some rest and I enjoyed waking up in the GF! I think by staying there included in the price is magical dreams haha:wizard::rotfl::idea:



I woke up earlier than the rest of my family so I could go visit my beautiful pup Dixie at the Kennel! I went to visit her and she was happy with lots of licks and hugs!:lovestruc:love:
After my visit, I headed back to the GF and met my family at Francs! My sister and parents went there to drop off the wedding favors and extra wedding accesories for the big day! I took some pictures while they chit chatted business!

I honestly reccomend anyone to go walk around here on their trip, its just so peaceful and beautiful! Its a must see!!!

Ok Im back for another installment!
I just finished watching Jon and kate plus 8...I found the season premiere really sad!
Anyhoo.
Cont, Day 2


So after breakfast we rented the sea raycers! This is something that my father has been wanting to do for a very long time!!!

We rented two raycers
1. for me and my sis
2. for my mom and dad!

My sister and I had rented them a while ago, and I drove last time, so she got to drive this time while I video taped!

We got the lecture before heading out on the boats. Basically the safety rules.

Ok so I have to tell this little short story that I thought was funny.
So this girl and her boyfriend I assume, was there renting the sea raycers as well. So protocol was that you HAVE to wear life jacket. Safety First.
Well this girl and her boyfriend went up to the cashier to rent a sea raycer.

Well I hope I dont offend anyone but this girl was like miss "Fabulosity" I mean who wears gold heels to drive a sea raycer?!?!

Ok anyway, the guy told her she HAS to put on a life jacket.
This is her response "OH absolutely NOT, those things are UGLY and I dont want to look like a fool, NO WAY I am NOT wearing it. I refuse."

The guy said No mam, you have to, if not you cant rent the boat.
So she basically fought with her boyfriend and her boyfriend was like "HONEY, theres nothing I can do"
She basically whined like a rat!
SO since then, the guy told her listen you can rent a party boat and you dont have to wear the life jackets.
So she BEGGED her boyfriend, but I think he was hesitant because it was like 100 something bucks to rent it for just 30 minutes. lol she basically whined again like a brat and her boyfriend sunk in like -insert 5 letter word here cat-
And they rented the boat.

So after we docked our sea raycers boat we saw some of my cousins waiting by the dock. OF course we ran out screaming to hug them!!!:hug::grouphug:


Then my brother and his family showed up and we all hung out by Gasparillas and took some pictures :)

Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party!!!!:cool1:

So like I said before, we got ready around 5pm for the halloween party, we each got dressed in our costumes and decided to head out. Our family was sitting by the pool and as we walked out, everyone was watching us lol...:goodvibes
So of course we took some pics before we got on the monorail, another amazing perk as to why the GF is the best hotel to stay at.

So after we ate dinner at Pecos Bill, did I mention that I had a taco salad, it wasnt that delicious, but good enough to eat.

We trick or treated a bit through frontierland and then headed towards Haunted Mansion. I love it but Im more scared of Haunted Mansion than any other ride!:scared1: wierd huh? I just get scared of the popping up things, the dark etc.

Us girls were having a blast and as we walked through all the Magic we were gathering TONS of candy!

So basically, I just realized I have 200 pics from the MNSSHP!
So ill tell ya what we did the rest of the night and post most of the pics, without boring ya lol.

After the fireworks and some rides, we got our face painted for FREE! Then we went trick or treating in Toon Town, and we then watched my favorite parade on Main St, and we did some shopping. Then we headed back to the Grand on the monorail for a good nights rest!

Day 3! Rehearsal Breakfast!

So that morning we woke up early and got ready in our best luau attire. My father and I went to go visit Dixie and give her lots of hugs and kisses and told her we loved her!

We headed back towards the wedding pavillion where we met most of my family there for the rehearsal!!!! I saw Scott waiting for me! and we took some pics,

Cont Day 3!

So rehearsal was about 30 minutes long, my sisterinlaw took tons of pics. It was honestly quite fun, the wedding planner michelle was keeping everyone in line and on point. Although things were soo overwhelmed it was alot to remember and forget! But I have to say things worked out the day of the wedding.

Honestly it wasnt just my sisters wedding it was truly a family reunion! And the fact that everyone saved to mostly be at the Grand Floridian was really special!! The memories of that week are like no other! I onyl wish that everyone could experience a family event at Disney! Its soo worth it!

Honestly even if you just do a few nights a value resort its just the fact that your in disney is the best feeling!!! Hopefully next year they will have the free dining plan again and you can use that your advantage of saving money! I am so happy to see that you brought your dog and checked on him at the kennel~ Was it really far away to do so? We are going for a short trip in January and will leave ours with the in laws, but next December, we will be there for a week and a half so we were thinking of kenneling her at Disney and visiting every so often. Let me know if you liked it---can't wait to read more!

OMG that is soo awsome!!! What days were you there??? We were there Oct 1-6! Best trip ever lol!!!!!!!! I do HIGHLY reccomend the Disney Kennels. They walk and feed my "baby girl" and make sure she is ok at all times, then of course My father and I visit her so she knows we love her and did not forget her lol. Its a trust worthy and amazing place for our fur babies lol.

OMG OMG OMG! Thats all I have to say about MNSSHP! You MUST go, try and get tix! My favorite parade of all time!!!! LOL! Thanks for reading, now that my sister had her wedding there I want my wedding there...I want mine at Boardwalk and American Adventure lol!!! Still Day 3!!!!
Another Moment at MAGIC KINGDOM with Scott and His Family!


So after that delicious Rehersal Breakfast!!! Scott and I went to meet up with his family at Magic Kindgom. His family was there for the wedding and also Scotts nephew trent was experiencing his first time in the wonderful world of Disney! (if I havent mentioned before Scott is my boyfriend of 6 years! We are hoping to have a Disney wedding in the future)


So another great thing about being at the GF was that it was walking distance from the Poly! So we walked to the GF and I got ready to take the monorail to meet Scott at Magic Kingdom, Scott went back to his hotel (PORS). Before the trip I got us matching shirts (yes we are nerds lol, scott didnt have much of a choice haha) So i bought me a DaisyDuck shirt and scott a DOnald Duck shirt...both of our favorite characters!

So I gave my photopass card to the photopass man!
but then i realized that he gave my photopass card to the family taking pics in front of us! So here I am trying to get their attention to come back LOL! It was a mix up but we got the photo card back! lol

After that Trent was getting very tired and they decided to head back to the hotel and nap. So it was just Scott and I with his parents Tom and Bonnie!!

So we decided to all race each other at the speedway.

We had a good time but then his parents started to get tired and they wanted to head back to the hotel. So then Scott and I went to watch Mickeys Harmagic! Such a cute attraction, I always forget to see it when Im in Magic Kingdom. Then for good ol' time sake we went on Small World and the Carousel!!!

We had a good time laughing and giggleing on the ride. Then we headed back to GF to go see the rest of my family that arrived for the wedding.

We all sat outside eating from gasparillas and chit chatting with all my family. It was like a family reunion lol.


By the way, this NEVER gets old! NEVER! lol I take a picture everytime.

So last night was the first game for FLORIDA STATE UNIVERISTY against University of Miami (<---YUCK!)

I am a TRUE FSU FAN! I love my noles...now half of my family is UM and the other half is FSU!

Scott is a UM fan (one flaw he has lol)

So last night the game was amazing, but unfortunatley we lost to UM!!!:confused3
Really sad! But HEY GO NOLES anyway!!!

DAY 4: WEDDING DAY!:woohoo:

So my father and I woke up early to check on our doggie!! she was happy to see us and we were very happy to see her!!
Then we headed back to the hotel room and my father got all of us girls bagels and coffee from gasparillas. The hair dresser and make up artists were there and I was the first to get prepped up!!! It was lots of fun to be pampered. I tried to take alot of pics but it was chaotic and being the MOH it was chaotic for me to make sure eveything was going good to keep the bride relaxed lol!!!

So the room was crazy busy, we were all getting ready and all us girls were chit chatting and being "girls" and we all couldnt believe the day had come.
My sister also got a special gift from her groom that day. It was a beautiful replica (shall I call it) of cinderellas coach. One of the grooms men came to deliver it. Absolutely beautiful!! Here are some more photos from my sister in laws camera!!!:cutie:

Hi All! I am sorry for the delay, I actually just got back from Disney a week ago with family. We had a blast, we stayed at the Yacht Club and did the FAWF and MNSSHP! I have plenty of pics to share iwht you all. I am sorry for the delay of this TR but I have been extremely busy in the past month right now.
