Fáilte!
What part of Dublin are you from? My husband's extended family lives in the Connemara region so we did not spend much time in Howth/Dublin.

I am from south Dublin, Howth is on the other side of Dublin about a 40 minute drive or so, it's quite a nice spot. I have never been to Conemmara dis you enjoy yourself when you were over here? Did you spend much time in the city centre of Dublin? I hope you brought your rainjacket? Ha ha

We went in August 2001---my first time there, but my husband had been there multiple times. We only did an overnight stay at a B&B near Newgrange with my inlaws and our oldest nephew. My dh and I only had one week so most of the time we were daytripping out of a rental house near Galway. We had some meals with the Irish cousins.
We forgot our rain gear, but MIL had brought enough umberellas for us. We had one sunny day which was our last day. Dh and I are hoping to go back next year for at least 2 weeks with a couple of days in Dublin.

Welcome!! I formerly worked for a company that has a laboratory and manufacturing facilities near Dublin (Tallaght) so I had a chance to visit Dublin many times. It is a beautiful city with wonderful people. I hope to get back with my DW someday to visit my friends and colleagues there.
Some of the best meals I have enjoyed were at Roly's Bistro and Loch's in Dublin, my personal favorite. :)

Haha, so true- you'll have to call in soon- WELCOME! I have been thinking of calling in with a fake accent so that they will finally pick one of my questions ;)
Edit- Ah I just noticed that is Julie posting above! This is the first picture of little Ferris that I have seen- what a cutie!

Grandfather was from Eniskillen before emigrating to Boston. I have been over. My Father and I toured the west coast for a couple of weeks several years back. Kerry, Connemara, Donnegal, Galway, all over. I loved it. :thumbsup2

My mother was born and grew up in Dublin until she was a teen and her family moved to Merseyside in England. Not sure what part of Dublin though.
She used to say that by your accent, she could not only tell that you were from Dublin, but what part of Dublin...

oh really, yes there are quite a few Irish people live in Liverpool which is in the county Merseyside.
It's amazing for such a small city there are such a wide range of accents, and they are all quite distinctive from each other, it is quite easy to tell the general area of where someone grew up in Dublin from their Dublin accent.
