;)Hi Everyone!

I'm hoping that someone else has already found a solution to this...

I just got a new car a few weeks ago (Honda CRV) and I have been very happy with it except for one BIG problem. My antenna boppers don't fit on the funny, stubby little antenna. I think these new antennas are because of the satellite radio, but it is way too big a diameter to fit the boppers (I have no idea if they are really called boppers - it is just what we have always called them in our family! ;) )

I have a collection of around 2 dozen of these that I rotate throughout the year. It is going to be a huge disappointment if I can't put them on the car anymore.

OK - so this isn't an earth shattering, world-wide disaster sort of problem :thumbsup2, but it would be great if anyone has any ideas on how to solve it.

Take a phillips screwdriver and push it down into the hole in the antena bopper, making sure to pierce into the foam at the top (bottom?) of the hole. This will make a star shaped grippy-type hole that will fit snugly over any antenna tip I've come across. And yes, all of the above descriptors I used are 100% certified made up BS.

You can use a drill on a very slow speed to bore the hole out a bit more...huh, that could be quite the visual.

Hmm...... if it's one of these, like TheBigGuy's car has....we're just outta luck!

I too have a Honda CRV, and attached to the stubby little aerial is a MK bopper!

I took a large pair of scissors and using one blade only, turned the bopper around the blade until the hole was large enough to fit over the aerial.

It's been on for 8 months now, no problems.

At leas you have an antenna! :)

My new Civic has it built into the windshield, with no way of attaching all those wonderful Disney toppers I collect! :(

Brand new Toyota Camry here - same problem! DW was not happy about that - her topper kind of just rides along now inside the car with her. It's a little sad.....

LOL - I'm no help but glad to know I'm not the only one that gets so worked up about needing my antena topppers!! When I bought a new car last summer, I ruled out the ones with no antenas!! :rotfl:
