Well we have taken the kids to dlp every year for the last 3 years and have been in April, June, July and December -we were planning to give it a skip this year because of the prices getting higher and higher -however with the combination of Ryan air , the 40% offer and scottish kids breaking up a week earlier than the English it has become a possibility again.
Who has been in early October -Obviously we will be too early for the Halloween celebrations - and I suppose we miss the HSM parades etc but the weather shouldnt be too bad should it?
Its not my ideal time to visit but I think we would still have a great time.
Anyone know roughly what time the parks close in October -I guess 7pm ?
Thanks
:)

Halloween season at DLRP started on Saturday 4th October last year, and its usually around this time every year.
What dates are you looking at?
First year I went, was just before Halloween season, most of the Halloween decorations were up, and it was fun. Quiet parks (Scottish school holidays but no-one else it seemed) drizzly but not cold, and we had fun.
Last year I went 6th to 8th October, Halloween season was in full swing, and it was fabulous :banana:. Again, parks were quiet, the weather was actually better (still drizzled a bit, but was warmer) and the Halloween shows and parades were fantastic - much better than this years Mickeys Magical Party offerings.
I would recommend Halloween to everyone - its brilliant fun for all ages.
The parks do close at 7pm in October, and last year, we had EMH every morning too. HSM will finish in September, although the first year (2007) they did extend this until mid-October. I don't recall it being extended last year though. Stars n Cars will still be going strong in the Studios though.

Halloween is awesome. I enjoyed it more than Christmas at DLRP and I think its the best season for quieter parks, decent weather and a lack of school age children :goodvibes
I went from the 6th to the 10th October 2008. The weather was cold in the mornings but generally t-shirt weather from about 11am until 6pm(ish). The parks were open until 7pm everyday other than Sat and Sun when they were open until 9pm (I think)

Oh thats great thanks!
Looking at going around 10th/11th October so we will get the Halloween decs/parades etc afterall which would be great as we haven't ever been at Halloween time.
Would like to see the stars and cars parade too -we have endless photos and footage of the HSM parades from the last couple of years so I think I can live with skipping it one year!;)
Would be nice to have a quieter park for a change too!
Ooh I am getting that Disney feeling again-will have to go and convince my better half and work out costs etc but looking good!:wizard:

Hi, We went last October in the first week of the Scottish holidays and it was great, just booked again for same week this year. The weather was lovely, fleeces and pac-a-macs just in case were all we needed. The Halloween theme and party etc are all in full swing and it wasn't too busy as English and French schools not off.

Halloween week, which is also half term in some of the UK, will be busy. Early October should be great.

Otober seems a decent time to go, and parks a bit quieter
Scottish school week off is 12th - 16th Oct
