Firstly, thanks for everyone's help regarding breakfast times and queues.

One of our party is just over a metre, but not quite the 1.02 that the ride requires (and with two weeks to go is unlikely to grow that much more).

I'm all for safety and realise the restrictions are there for a reason but, before we dash his hopes, does anyone know how strict they are at the ride.

If allowed, he would be going on with an adult.

They are quite strict. They have a measuring stick at the entrance to the ride so would measure anyone they thought looked too small

My son was 0.01 too short, but CM saw the look on his face and let it go as long as one of us adults were next to him.

They had the measuring stick out at both the regular and fastpass entrance to BTM last week.

they have been very strict what i have seen
they measured ds2 every time we went on it and hes a few cm larger than the limit!
i would take it that they wont be able to get on.

You need to do what I did...teach your daughter/son to stand VERY straight, shoulders back and legs not bent.........this usually makes them just a bit taller and can reach the stick. We did this in Orlando with my daughter and they let her through (after removing her hat that we made her wear too! Worked in Universal on the Spiderman ride and she was very impressed with her new "tall" skills)

But remember if anything happens then it's down to you.....but you'll be with them :-)

Over a metre but under 1.02? So we are talking 2 cm here. Don't forget that the child willing be wearing shoes so that will bring them up a little as well. I second the stand tall notion - that or wear a hat maybe.

wear platform shoes for extra height!

and what is "BTM" anyway? at least write the full name once before abbreviating,
it that not normal practice?

Ouch! It's Big Thunder Mountain. I think the original poster probably presumed that readers would know what it was........

We all tend to write abbreviations for the rides on here ~ you'll soon get to recognise them! If not, there's a list of the most common ones here (http://www.wdwinfo.com/abbreviations.htm) or just ask ~ someone will soon fill you in. :goodvibes
