Agree that the Lea/Idina duet was stunning. Emma loved it so much that I was able to negotiate it into a reward. If she maintains good behavior and no attitude for this whole week we will download it for her iPod. Of course the fact that I want it for myself is not "need to know" information for her.

I can say though that I am a little surprised that there was a community theatre production of Les Mis and Rachel was nowhere to be seen auditioning with "On My Own."

I loved the "Dream On" number, and appreciated that even if for a few minutes, Will had someone else to talk to other than Sue (*****fest), Figgins (whining), Emma (mooning), or the kids (teaching). It's too bad NPH can't join the cast. :(

Just when you think you can't love Kurt's dad any more than you arleady do . . .

Wow. Great scene!

I have to say I liked the Gaga stuff more than I expected to (I'm not a fan)

Good episode.

And interesting news this week. Glee hasn't finished it's first season yet, hasn't even started filming it's second season which begins next fall, but it's already been renewed for a THIRD!

Kurt's coming out and his dad's acceptance of it continues to be great.

Idina and Michelle singing Poker Face was so awesome.

I also have a soft spot in my heart for the Kiss song Beth.

It was a good episode.

I was absolutely crying during the kurt/burt/finn scene. What a well done scene by all three actors, but I especially love the portrayal of Burt. I love the depth of this particular character. It really hits home for me, since I've used that particular argument on family more than once in defense of my brother.

I'm glad that they are finally showing the problems Kurt goes through in school because they are REAL problems that face "different" kids. They're doing a great job with that aspect of the story.

And I absolutely adore Puck/Mark Salling. Beth was a great number, although seeing him all decked out in KISS gear and face paint was hilarious. If you youtube "glee" a little ways down the list will be his song he wrote/performed/stars in as a tribute/funny little ditty about the cast and crew. Such a funny guy.

Anyhoo, LOVED the episode and was blubbering by the end of the scene with Kurt, his Dad and Finn. Heartbreaking.

Aren't we technically in the 2nd season since the first season has come out on DVD already? Not sure.

Nope. Glee was originally only picked up for half a season, so they shot those 13 episodes as one story arc "The Road to Sectionals". When they got picked up for the full season, they realeased the first half on DVD to keep the Gleeks happy while they shot the "back 9" which are airing now.

The second season starts in the fall. And the recently announced third season will begin in the fall of 2011.

On the Big Broadcast Networks (ABC, NBC, CBS, & FOX and do a lesser extend CW) the "Season" runs from around September until around May, and is typically 22 to 26 episodes in length.

The cable channels have recently introduced the concept of "Mini Seasons" that air in a block of about half what the broadcast networks would call the season and they've begun airing them whenever they feel like it (and to fill in the gap in the summer months, where the networks would traditionally be showing re-runs). That's why we now see two "seasons" of True Blood a year, but still only one season of Desperate Housewives.

Can you tell that Scott used to live in Hollywood, and that I've picked up WAY too much information from him? :rotfl2:

I loved when the Glee kids all showed up in costume when the 2 jocks were going to fight with Kurt and Finn :rotfl:

I did think the "Poker Face" bit was placed poorly, and I wasn't a fan of it. Other than that I loved the whole show!

We finally got around to watching the "Funk" episode last night.

It was all right, but nothing spectacular.

I thought that neither Will nor Sue acted in character in any way shape or form.

And what's up with the timing?

"Nationals is this weekend"

"Meet Me for Dinner on Wednesday, Sue"

"Jessie, get Vocal Adrenalin here on Friday"

Sue Wins Nationals!

New Directions Funks while Vocal Adrenalin watches.

So apparently the week at McKinnley High goes Tuesday, Monday, Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday, Thursday, Friday? Is that right?:confused3

Not that this show EVER makes any sense, but at least try to get the timing of what's going on to match the days mentioned in the dialogue! :headache:

That said, I can't wait to see the Season Finale tonight! :woohoo:

That is what you were most concerned about? Not the ABSOLUTELY DISTURBING "Tell Me Something Good" or the preggo Swan Lake ballet to "It's A Man's World"? :confused3

I also can't wait til tonight, but "Funk" (probably because it was aired out of order-and was originally supposed to be before the Dream On episode) really confused the crap out of me. I thought I must have been high, then realized I wasn't, then figured out that I SHOULD have been. Maybe I will smoke the hookah during tonight's show and see if that works. ;)

The thing is, they only have to place right? In order to keep their funding from Maharishi Figgins? So if there are only 3 teams competing (Aural Intensity, Nude Erections-don't tell me you haven't thought of that, or Vocal Adrenaline) they automatically place. After hearing the DSB for tonight I'm going with ND.

LOL I'm trying NOT to read this thread because I'm still several episodes behind. I tend to watch them a few weeks after they've aired. LOVE Hulu.com!

I do have a Glee question and hope someone here might be able to answer it. A few minutes ago I caught the Dream On episode (OMG that was great!) and am wondering if anyone knows who the Les Mis director is? He was also in The Princess Diaries and I don't think his name is listed in the cast of either Diaries or Glee.

The reason I'm asking is because I am almost positive he was a street performer at MGM the year it opened. I also recall seeing him on tv riding on a float in one of the televised Disney Christmas Parades.

He's a big guy if this helps you know which man I'm talking about.
So....does anyone know his name and whether he was at one point working at MGM Studios?

Let's say each judge's first place vote got you 3 pts, 2nd place got 2 pts, 3rd got 1.

Sue gave her 3 pts to New Directions, everyone else gave their 1. They'd have 6 pts.

The one that got 2nd place could have gotten all 2's and had at least 7.

Vocal Adrenaline had all 3's except whatever Sue gave them (I wasn't watching closely) and had at least 10 pts.

Just a guess. :)

I'm pretty good with names and faces. I saw him perform with a local theatre here in Orlando and knew his name from the program where his bio listed all of the above plus the fact that he'd just finished NBC's "The Rerun Show". After that, he turned up at the Adventurers Club a couple times as a guest, and several of the performers there were friends with him, so we met him briefly. Then he showed up on a couple episodes of "The Big Gay Sketch Show".

BBC America's - The Choir
http://www.bbcamerica.com/content/401/index.jsp

Choirmaster Gareth Malone attempts to create choirs in the most unlikely settings. In the two-time BAFTA award-winning series, The Choir, Gareth sets his sights first on Northolt High School--a school with no music program, then on Lancaster School--an all boys school where sports dominates the landscape and lastly on South Oxhey--a blue collar community.

Gareth's belief that people should have access to sing beautiful music drives his fearless passion to unite people in song. He feels a choir allows people to come together and express themselves as a community which can be a deeply personal and touching human experience. But as he finds out, getting people together to form a choir is no small feat. He first has to overcome perceptions that being in a choir and singing is both uncool and embarrassing.

Gareth's tireless pursuits to recruit members coupled with his ability to make singing fun for EVERYONE--sets off an emotional journey of shocks and surprises, challenges and rewards with heartwarming results.
