:welcome: to my TR! For those of you who haven't read my PTR (link in signature) and didn't follow my tweets around the world, here is a little insight!

The Cast:
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/191.jpg

Me (Wendy), age 34 and lover of all things Disney! I'm a SAHM and former elementary school teacher. Once I'm done having kids and being a SAHM, I plan on returning to teaching! I'm also the vacation planner! DH follows along and usually only adds his input when it comes to dining! This was my 17th Disney vacation!

DH (Mike), age 34 and loves Disney too. He loves Disney for nostalgic reasons. It reminds him of some fabulous times he spent with his Dad before he passed away 17 years ago. He is the one who works hard to bring home the bacon so I can stay home with our DD. He's just AWESOME! This was his 12th Disney vacation!

DD (Emily), age 2 1/2 and cutie pie! She's been raised to be a Disney lover and doesn't know any better! She's very smart and remembers EVERYTHING! This was her 3rd Disney vacation!

On to the nitty gritty!
My family spent 10 lovely nights (May 7-17th) at the Polynesian and it was absolutly magical!

We booked the 4/3 deal in a garden view room for the first seven nights with 9 day base tickets and the DxDP, then a room only (again GV) for 2 nights plus a free night at the Crown Plaza near the airport for the last night since our flight was leaving at 11am the next morning. You'll see how these plans changed as my TR progresses!:thumbsup2

This TR will also be part Dining Review because we ate at many wonderful places on the DxDP. Thank goodness we do sooo much walking at Disney, because we ate and ate and ate!!! Fortunately, niether of us gained any weight!

Thanks for reading!!:surfweb:

UPDATES

A bunch of things hit me in your first post, so I thought I might be eligible to read this one.

-SAHM - I was one once, and I wish I was again, even though my kids are grown!

-former teacher - I'm a present teacher, mostly third grade, moving down to 2nd and away from standardized testing next year

-vacation planner - my daughter and I are in constant planning mode

-toddler daughter - I have a toddler granddaughter, (and an infant one, as well)

-lots of Disney trips - that's us, too

-Polynesian - love it

-eating, eating, eating - we're good at that

So, if all of those similarities qualify me for reading along, I'm ready to read! I look very forward to seeing many good pictures of Poly and everything else in Disney.

First off, I'd like to say thanks to all of you who have joined in on our fun!!

Next, on to day 1!

Thursday, May 7th

We woke up bright and early this morning (around 4:45am ) and began getting ready. It wasn't long before the car service was here to take us to the airport! We piled in the sedan and we were off a little past 6am for our 7:35am flight. On our way to the airport, Mickey Mouse called Emily to say good morning and to have a great trip! She was super stoked!! We had no problems getting through security and to our gate in plenty of time so we stopped for a muffin and Mike got a coffee before we boarded. The flight was pretty uneventful and we landed about 25 minutes ahead of schedule! Once we took the tram to the main terminal at MCO we had McDonalds for b-fast and off we went to find the DME bus. Amazingly, there was no line for DME and we were on our bus and in route to the Poly by 10:30am!

We walked into the lush lobby of the Poly around 11am and checked in.

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%207/039.jpg

Our room wasn't ready, infact, we hadn't been assigned a room yet so Dani, the CM checking us in, asked if we had a specific request and I told her we would like to be in the Tahiti bldg. She called the room assigner and asked for Tahiti, then she asked if an upgrade was possible for our anniversary. No such luck there, but we ended up with a huge room in the Tahiti bldg with a great view of the gardens. Poly really has beautiful grounds! Like I said, the room was huge, but dark! We always had to have several of the lights on at all times!

Anyway, while we were waiting for our room, we decided to hang out at the Volcano pool and get our swim on! We spent many hours in the Volcano pool over our stay and it was nice, but it was no SAB! We did miss SAB this time around! I don't have any pics of the pool this day, you'll have to check back later for pool pics!

After the dip in the pool, Emily took a nap while Mike and I unpacked and made ourselves at home since we were going to be staying for a while....or so we thought! :rolleyes1

Up Next: Day 1 continued...DTD and T-Rex!!

Hey, we were right down the hall from you!! We were in Tahiti, Room 3011 - 3rd floor, garden view - in that picture of your balcony, our room was further down on the right (close to the outside steps that open out to Tokelau, I think) - too funny!

So, did you not stay there? Your "or so we thought" comment has me thinking....:scratchin

Those rooms are really large - I was impressed! Dark, yes...but I loved those little lamps next to the bed that you could dim and brighten!

Great start - looking forward to the next part! :goodvibes

Yay! You started yours! Cannot wait to read some more :) I am super jealous of your room at Poly lol. Made mine look like a plain old motel room!

The rooms were nice...and big! Emily had plenty of room to spread out and play! I'm glad you and Rylan made it home safe. Can't wait to read all about your trip!

I love the pic of Emily on the bed all cozy! Does she sleep well in a big kids bed with no side rails?

She sleeps in a full size bed here at home with no rails so she is used to it. I had rails for a while, but took them off about 4 months ago. She's a pretty stationary sleeper!

How funny!! We were in room 3045! We were about 4 rooms down from where the elevators were towards the TTC! We probably saw you and didn't even know!

I liked the dimming lamps too, it made it easier to get Emily in bedtime mode!

Hmmmm....maybe we might have seen eachother, but we weren't there until the 13th - 17th....and I'm sure you aren't going to jump ahead to Day 4 to tell us what happened....:rolleyes1, now are you? :sad2:

I wonder if you were one of the families at the Poly pool that was really making me feel sad about not having my kids there with me! :sad1: Ironically, I did fine in the parks as far as missing them, but when I was at the Poly pool or GCH, I got really sentimental knowing how much my 3 little ones would have loved that place! (I have an Emily too, BTW...) This was our first trip without the kids! :guilty:

Hmm...something to look into? What kind of transportation does the Beach Club have? I think we almost booked there because of the kitchens...We are probably going to drive when we go next time and bring my niece. An extra adult for rides. Our 10 yr ann. is in 2011.

Ahh, finally Emily gave me the computer back! She's been creating Pixies on the Pixie Hollow site forever!!

So where did I leave off? Oh yeah!....

After Emily had her nap and Mike and I relaxed we got ready for some shopping and dinner at T-Rex! We jumped on the bus to DTD and we were there in no time. We headed to Goofy's Candy Co. for some goodies! Mike is obsessed with a certain candy that he can only find at Goofy's. (They are some sort of disgusting sweet tart chalky ball!) I got a chocolate covered strawberry..YUMMY!!

From Goofy's, we headed straight to T-Rex. We checked-in at the podium and we we're seated right away! As soon as you walk into the restaurant there is a HUGE T-Rex roaring in your face and Emily was NOT a fan of that! Once we got past that, she was OK! We sat near the ice cave, which was pretty cool! It changes colors...

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%207/119.jpg

We ordered the Brachiosaurus Bruschetta as an appitizer and it was delish! Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture!!

Mike had the Boneyard Buffet - Fire-roasted Rotisserie Chicken and Mega Mes-O-Bones served with waffle fries and your choice of one of the following sides: garlic mashed potatoes, Raptor rice, baked beans, cinnamon apples, cole slaw or roasted vegetables
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%207/123.jpg

He really enjoyed the chicken, but the ribs were a little dry!

I had the Paleonzoic Chicken Sandwich - Fried pizza dough with grilled chicken, lettuce, bacon, pepper jack cheese, avocado, tomato and lemon aioli
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%207/121.jpg

This sandwich was very good. The chicken was juicy, but it was filling. I could only eat half!

Overall, the food was decent, but the restaurant was LOUD. It was hard to hear Mike sitting across from me. We're glad we experienced it, but I think we'll stick with Earl of Sandwich!! We rate T-Rex :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Oh, I almost forgot...at the table next to us there was a man sitting there with the most obvious tupee I have ever seen. It was RIDONKULOUS!! :rotfl2: They got up and left and 2 ladies sat down at that table and the one 20 something girl pulled a doll dressed in Goth attire and sat it on the table and was talking to it. :confused3 WEIRDOS!!!!

After dinner, we headed to World of Disney and did some shopping!
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%207/051.jpg

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%207/131.jpg

We ended the evening at my favorite place at DTD...Ghirardelli (DROOL!)

Mike ordered the Strike It Rich - Butterscotch Hot Fudge Sundae - butter pecan ice cream with butterscotch and golden almond nuggets under a layer of vanilla ice cream, hot fudge, whipped cream, chopped almonds and a cherry
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%207/127.jpg

Mike gives this a :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 !

I order the The Domingo - Banana Hot Fudge Sundae - vanilla ice cream surrounded by bananas, topped with hot fudge, whipped cream, chopped almonds and a cherry
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%207/128.jpg

All I have to say about this is OMG, can I have another!! Definitely a :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 !

Back to the Poly we headed for an early night!

Up Next: Day 2, May 8, 2009...Chef Mickey's, MK and dinner with Kara (kgle) and Rylan at the Yachtman Steakhouse!

Loud is an understatement! On top of all of the people noise, every 20 minutes there is a meteor shower that rumbles through the restaurant!

Wow! T-Rex looks pretty cool!

It was a cool place! I really liked the ice cave!

We are going to T-Rex, our first real night there. I figure it is more for the scenery than the food, so glad you are confirming that! The sundaes look wonderful! I could go for one right now. Can't wait for more.

I could really go for one of those sundaes too!

WoW, I cant wait to read the rest of your TR. I didnt have internet when we were in WDW so I didnt get to read your facebook. I'm sure your trip was just as great as mine. By the way, My engagement pics are on facebook now and I'm almost done editing the photopass ones.

Congratulations! Your ring is beautiful! You got some great photopass pics! I love the ones that they added the balloons to. I haven't seen that one yet!

Great review- I love your rating system! :thumbsup2

It's so weird we didnt see you that night... we were in most of those places. I stopped in Ghirardelli's but the line looked so long so we got Mickey bars!

How was getting to DTD from the Poly??

I was keeping my eye out for you, but it was kind of busy so we probably just missed each other!

We love Ghirardelli, it's a must do! The line moves pretty quick, you order and then find a table and they bring your dessert to you!

After reading so many complaints about getting to DTD from the Poly, I was worried about it, but a bus came about 5 min after we got to the bus stop and we were in DTD in 15 min. No problems!

Looks like you had a really good time at DTD! The chicken sandwich you had looks AMAZING!

We did have a good time! The chicken sandwich was really good!

Now I'm off to Pet Smart to buy a replacement goldfish for the one Emily got at Stay & Play Pre-School graduation yesterday!!:headache: He was "sleeping" this morning!

Friday, May 8th

This morning we had a 9:15 am ADR at Chef Mickey's! We were a little nervous because last year Emily was not a fan of getting close to the characters, she wasn't terrified like she was at 10 months, but they were good at a distance! We were curious to see her reaction this year!

Anyway, we walked over the the TTC to catch the resort monorail for our ride to the Contemporary. We walked up the ramp, I HATE THOSE RAMPS!, and we were first in line for the monorail so I asked if we could sit up front and the CM said sure, as long as no one else is up there! The monorail pulled in and there was no one in the front so we hopped in!

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%208/200.jpg

A few stops later and we were at the Contemporary ready for b-fast!

We checked-in at the podium and got in line for our picture in front of the big plate (which is on our photopass so I have to wait to get the CD before I can post). We were finally called to our table about 20 minutes later. We sat over by the windows overlooking Bay Lake. It was very nice! The characters were on the other side of the restaurant so we hit the buffet!
Emily's plate (yogurt, Mickey waffle, peaches grapes and Cheerios:

Mike's plate (a little bit of everything!):

My plate (more of everything!):
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%208/208.jpg

All of the food was fantastic! It was hot and tasty! These are the best pancakes I've ever had! I also loved the breakfast pizza they had in the kids section...yummy!

Next came the characters:

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%208/213.jpg

As you can see, Emily LOVED the characters this time! Woo Hoo:woohoo:!! The characters interacted very well, they weren't rushing through, they took time for hugs and kisses!

We loved Chef Mickey's and would definitely eat b-fast there again! We gave it :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 for great food, great characters and great service!

Up Next: Day 2 - May 8, 2009 continued...MK and Yachtsman Steakhouse!

Now I want to eat at Chef Mickey's! I'm glad you got to rid up front. On our first day I asked the CM and she said sure go stand over there and then the people behind us ran over there and got in line first. I was a bit annoyed but let it go since it was our first day.

I think the worst monorail ramp is Epcot's. That think is LONG and STEEP!

Good luck with the goldfish. Jenny tells me I am a mean mommy because we have no pets. I am allergic to most.

We will have to do Chef Mickeys. We actually canceled that because we didn't want to pay oop. Hmm!

Our trip is getting moved back yet another year now....more like Fall of 2011 or Winter of 2012. Ugh! My bil is coming home from IRAQ in Nov. so we will be heading to Tenn. Then we have to go to California the following year. Too bad Jason doesn't get more vacation time. :rolleyes1 I have lots!!!:rotfl2::lmao:

Hmm...something to look into? What kind of transportation does the Beach Club have? I think we almost booked there because of the kitchens...We are probably going to drive when we go next time and bring my niece. An extra adult for rides. Our 10 yr ann. is in 2011.

We loved the BC! It's an Epcot resort, only about a 3 minute walk to the back entrance to Epcot in the World Showcase. There is also a boat that runs between Epcot and DHS that stops at BC/YC, Boardwalk and the Swan & Dolphin. You have to take a bus to AK and MK or if you have hoppers you can walk through Epcot and take the monorail to the MK. We rented points from a DVC member and stayed in a studio villa. It was perfect and much cheaper than booking through Disney.

What a great start to your day - getting to ride up front! I loved doing that! The balloons on the windows of the regular monorail cars were cute, but after a while trying to strain my neck to see around them as we were moving was kind of hard! :rotfl2: Riding up front = no obstruction! :woohoo:

Your character pics are great! Looks like she was having fun! :goodvibes

Look at the big girl, she did great with the characters!:cool1: We are having breakfast at Chef Mickey's on our last day. It is the last thing we are doing, I was hoping it would be a great way to end the trip.
BTW, good luck on that goldfish, I switched to Beta's, not as high maintenance as goldfish.

Chef Mickey's breakfast looks so yummy. Someday we need to hit breakfast. Your trip to DTD seemed great, so many yummy treats. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on T-Rex. I wondered if we should try it, but I will wait until we have a dino lover perhaps before going there. Your food did look good though! Ghirardelli!- I hope we get that again!

After our delicious and fun breakfast at Chef Mickey's we hopped on the Monorail and headed to the MK.

As soon as we walked under the train station Emily spotted this fun little boy:

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%208/220.jpg

You'll notice that MeeMee ends up in most of our pictures. We don't go anywhere witout MeeMee!

Once we were done with Pinocchio, we had to go to Mike's favorite store...The Confectionary!
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%208/222.jpg

And then.....AHHHHHHHH!
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%208/223.jpg

We bought 2 of the clear balloons with the Mickey balloon inside during our vacation and both of them deflated in one night. We were told we could take them back to the vendor and get a new one, but that was too much of a hassle! We ended up finding a mylar balloon on one of the mousekeeping carts at the Poly and took it for Emily. It lasted the rest of the week!

We planned on spending only the morning at the MK today because we wanted some pool and nap time before heading to the YC for dinner so we saw Belle & Fantasyland! We went at a nice pace and it was nice to know we'd be back 3 more times to finish the rest of the park!

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%208/242.jpg

We were able to ride everything in Fantasyland except Peter Pan between 11am and 2pm, so we decided it was getting very hot and time for the pool! We headed back down Main Street and out to catch the resort Monorail to the Polynesian. Being on the Monorail is sooooo convenient!

Up Next: Day 2 continued again! The Yachtsman Steakhouse!

I like that idea about the beach club - renting from a DCV for a better rate. We don't know what to choose for the next trip. GF, BC or Poly! What would you think???

Picture of Emily with Pluto and Mickey is so cute!! I love that she is holding their hands. I also cant believe you saw Pinocchio. We looked everywhere for that boy!!

I remember reading that you guys sat up front on Twitter. I was so excited for you guys... we had just done the night before I think, and it was so cool!

Great picture and great update!!!

We didn't step foot in the confectionary this trip. DO they still make fudge there? Did they move it? I thought it used to be right next to the bakery but it wasn't. lol My memory is probably just off.

It's been 20 years since we stayed at the GF, I was 14! I really don't remember to much of it, but the BC and the Poly are both great choices. I loved the BC because of the pool, beach, brightness, location, price and smell! Yes the BC has a great smell! I also loved the Poly for it's location, room size, beach & grounds and restaurants. I wouldn't stay there without a discount though, garden view rooms rack rate is $505 a night...OUCH!! We were fortunate to take advantage of the 4/3 & spring discount deals for our stay. Oh and the pool was small and usually pretty crowded. Which ever you choose, I'm sure you'll love it and then you can stay at the other place the next year!!:woohoo:

We saw Pinocchio up near the Emporium at the front of the park!

Yes, they still make fudge, yum, and it is still in the same location. Right on the corner of the loop in front of the train station and Main Street!:yay:

If you are planning a Character Breakfast for your next trip at either CRT or CP that would really help...otherwise head to the castle for rope drop we normally can do Dumbo with less than 10 mins wait....making rope drop is very important otherwise I tend to see the lines at around 30 -60 mins wait time most of the day. Also try riding during wishes or immediatly after wishes or a parade....the lines get a little shorter then as well... Defiantly IMO one of if not the MOST magical rides for me and my family.:cloud9: I hope you get to try it on your next trip:wizard::flower3:.

We cruised through Fantasyland pretty much every day we were there. The longest waits we for Peter Pan and Winnie the Pooh, but we used FP for those. I think Dumbo needs a FP! I can't believe you have never been on Dumbo! You must do it next time! We rode it 3 times this trip! I think the longest wait was 15 minutes. One night, we walked right on, I couldn't believe it! It is best to get there 1st thing or wait until the end of the night on an EMH night!

Congrats on the baby! We took Emily for the first time at 10 months and it was fantastic and easy! I think as she has gotten older, it's gotten to be more fun, but more work! You will have a blast no matter what age you take your little one!

After a cooling swim and a nap for Emily, we got ready and headed to the Yacht Club for our dinner at the Yachtsman Steakhouse! We were meeting up with Kara (kgle) and her son Rylan! We had to wait about 20 minutes for our table so the kiddos ran around the halls of the YC while we waited.

We were finally seated and Emily took our pictures!

Sorry Kara, I couldn't resist!!

Anyway, on to the food!

Mike ordered his first bottle of wine for he and Kara to share. I think she had a little and Mike drank the rest! He was feeling pretty good after dinner!
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%208/057.jpg

Our attentive waitress brought over some bread and roasted garlic...YUM!
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%208/143.jpg

Next up was the appetizers! I forgot to take pictures before we started eating them!
Mike ordered the Assortment of Artisanal Cheeses - Saint Andre, Beemster X0, Robiola, Fourme d'Ambert, accompanied with Toasted Multigrain Baguette. He loved every bite. The cheese he didn't think he liked ended up being his favorite!
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%208/145.jpg

I ordered the Seared Maine Diver Scallops with Diamond white cheddar risotto and aged sherry vinaigrette and they were delicous. I love scallops! Sorry! There was only a half of one left before I remembered to take the picture!!
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%208/144.jpg

For an entree, Mike tried to conquer the Porterhouse - 24 oz. Center Cut Porterhouse with fresh cut fries and Roasted Garlic Butter
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%208/148.jpg

He tried hard, but couldn't eat the whole thing! I told him that was fine, I don't think you get a t-shirt and your picture on the wall at the Yachtsman for eating the whole thing!:lmao:

Kara and I both ordered the Yachtsman Filet Mignon - 8-ounce Filet with Mashed Potatoes and a Red Wine Sauce...DROOL!!
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%208/146.jpg

This was the best steak I have ever had! The Yachtsman Steakhouse has the best steaks on property. Even the filet at the California Grill is overshadowed by the Yachtsman!

For dessert, Mike had the Creme Brulee with fresh berries and rolled chocolate. I didn't take a picture for some reason! I think he may have eaten it all before I remembered! Mike liked the Creme Brulee, but said it was just the same ol Creme Brulee you can get anywhere.

I had the The Yachtsman Sundae-- trio of gelato with amarena cherries.
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%208/149.jpg

Again, I forgot to take the pic until I was almost finished!! The gelato was super creamy and very good! We were served chocolate, vanilla and strawberry. Emily and I scarfed this down! It was nice and light, the perfect ending to a huge steak!

Overall, we really enjoyed our dinner at the Yachtsman! Like I said, they have the best steaks! My filet melted in my mouth and it was grillled perfectly! Our waitress was extremely attentive and did a great job! We would definitely eat at the Yachtsman again and rate it :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2!!

Hey Wendy!
I missed a couple a days and I had to catch up from pg.2!! Loved the room at Poly...I want to stay there for our trip next year. T-Rex seems like fun, my boys may enjoy it but you make me nervous about the food! LOL! Loved the sundaes...I definitely need to add that to the list of to-dos for DTD. Saturday, May 9th

Today we headed to Epcot for the morning! We were planning on covering Future World, having lunch at Beaches and Cream and then miniture golf at Fantasia Gardens. Our plans changed when it was 95 degrees and way too hot for putt putt! So here is what we did!

We walked to the TTC and took the Monorail to Epcot, arriving about 9:30am.
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%209/152.jpg

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%209/154.jpg

The crowds we light and so we headed straight to the Land for our Soarin' FP and rider swap.
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%209/059.jpg

Our return time was 1:15pm so we rode Living with the Land (no wait), left the Land and rode Figment (no wait)
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%209/2492.jpg

Seas with Nemo & Friends (no wait) and saw Turtle Talk with Crush! This was the first time Emily sat up front with the other kiddos and it was a teary moment for Mike and I. Our little girl is so grown up! We walked around and saw all of the fish swimming around. Mike LOVES fish and has a 250 gallon saltwater tank in the wall of our den! After our underwater adventures with Nemo, we went to see the characters! The line was long, but moved pretty quickly. I think we waited about 15 minutes so see these friends!

At this point it was about 12:30pm so we went back to the Land and had some lunch! Mike and I both had the Black Forest Ham and Salami Grinder and it was delicious as always! We've had this sandwich on previous Disney ventures and we have never been disappointed!
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%209/163.jpg

As you can see, I had the Strawberry Shortcake. It was light and fluffy with fresh strawberries. I could eat this all day long!

Mike had the Chocolate Moose Dome and he said it was too rich and not very good.
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%209/165.jpg

Overall, we like Sunshine Seasons because of the variety of choices they offer. We wouldn't go out of our way to eat there, but for CS, it is good. We rate it :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

After out tummies were full, it was time to Soar! Mike rode 1st while Emily and I waited, then it was my turn! I love this ride, it's so relaxing and I just feel so peaceful cruising over California!

Once we finished Soarin' we headed to the other side of Future World ano along the way, we ran into these guys:
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%209/197.jpg

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%209/204.jpg

Then we stopped at the fountain for some more pictures:
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%209/207.jpg

Mike headed to Mission Space (10 min wait) while Emily and I shopped at Mouse Gears:
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%209/214.jpg

Ellen's Universe of Energy wasn't running and we've been on Test Track enough to know it's not worth waiting even the 10 minutes for, so we headed to:
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%209/2572.jpg

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%209/2582.jpg
There was no wait. We LOVE this ride, escpecially when you get to the top..."On this, our Spaceship Earth"! Although, it was more dramatic with the old narrator, but I don't mind the changes!

Anyway, at this point we were ready for the pool and nap time so we hit the Monorail back to the Poly!
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%209/216.jpg

TIP: I think Future World is the best place to be when it is scorching hot outside because all of the attractions are indoors and so are the lines!

Great update and lovely pictures! My husband could spend forever in the Living Seas too! Does your husband scuba dive? If he does, he should look into doing Dive Quest! My husband has done it twice, and it is ALWAYS a highlight for him! He loves diving in the tank with the sharks, rays, and turtles! He didn't do it this time and I think he sorely missed it.

Looking forward to the Luau! :goodvibes

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%209/231.jpg

We were seated pretty quickly and the Tropical Mixed Greens with Mango Poppy Seed Dressing, Pineapple-coconut Bread and Sweet Golden Pineapple was already at our table.
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%209/232.jpg

Our waitress came and took our drink order and soon after the Island Barbecued Pork Ribs, Lanai Roasted Chicken, Polynesian Rice and Fresh Seasonal Vegetables were delivered to the table:
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%209/238.jpg

As we were eating away, the show began. Like many have said here on the DIS, the beginning is pretty cheezy, but it gets better when the hula dancing and fire dancer do their thing! The beginning has some audience participation and here is Emily doing the hula! She loved this and still hulas around the house with her lei on! It's soo cute!

This was a wonderful dinner and I'm happy we did it. The food was so good! I loved the rice, salad, veggies, chicken...well, all of it! I'm not a fan of ribs or coconut so I was a little skeptical about eating those, but I'm so glad I tried them...YUM! The chicken and ribs were tender, juicy and a little sweet. The bread was AWESOME and I could eat that rice all night long!! The dessert was good, not great. It was chocolaty and rich. Emily really enjoyed watching the dancing and like I said, still hula dances around the house and asks if we can see the fire dancers again. We would go see this show again, but only after we see the other dinner shows Disney has to offer! We rate the SoA show :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 and the SoA dinner :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2!!

Sunday, May 10th

Today was an exciting day because it was Mother's Day and our 7 year anniversary! We woke up at the a$$ crack of dawn because we had an 8:10am ADR at Crystal Palace. I booked this ADR so we could get into the park before it opened! We hoped on the Monorail again to the MK!

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2010/292.jpg

It was AWESOME being in the practically empty park! We took a ton of pictures and then headed to the CP for breakfast. We took this while we waited:
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2010/295.jpg

So, we were seated pretty quickly and I immediatly spotted Amber (bertegirl) and her family. I waited for the waiter to take our drink order and then went over to say "Hello!" Jenny and Emily became instant friends!

The characters were still on the other side of the restaurant so we went to the buffet and found many yummy breakfast goodies!
My Plate:

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2010/342.jpg

Emily kept asking, "Where's Darby?"

The food was hot and tasty! We have eaten here for dinner before and it was good, but breakfast was definitely better! The character interaction and wait staff were attentive. We give CP :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

With full bellies, we headed to Adventureland for some adventure!
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2010/351.jpg

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2010/353.jpg

And then....our camera battery DIED!! We forgot to charge it the night before. Bummer!

There was no one in the parks this morning! We stopped to see Aladdin and Princess Jasmine, which I have Photopass pictures of...I really need to order that CD soon! We rode Aladdin's Magic Carpets, rode the Jungle Cruise, Pirates, and took turns riding Splash Mountain and BTMRR. I can't wait until Emily is tall enough for Splash. Her favorite part of Pirates and Maelstrom is the drop so I think she'll LOVE Splash! Then we went to Liberty Square to ride the Haunted Mansion! Emily called this one the Ghost Hunters ride!! It was getting close to our lunch ressie at the Plaza so we started heading for the Hub where the Move It, Shake It, Celebrate It block party was happening. Mike and Emily danced with Woody and Jessie! Man, I can't believe our camera battery was dead, I could have had some great pictures!

Anyway, we headed to the Plaza where I ran into Wayne, Myles and Owen as we waited outside. I said "Hi" and looked forward to meeting Nickie inside! We were seated in about 10 minutes and across the room I saw Nickie! I waved and placed my order! After we ordered, nickie came over to our table to say "Hi!" and she was wearing the cute t-shirt Wayne and the boys made for her! It was like meeting up with an old friend!

Mike had the Grilled Reuben - thinly sliced corned beef on grilled marble rye with sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, and Thousand Island dressing which Mike said was good, but he has definitely had better. The corned beef was a little dry.

I had the Turkey Sandwich - smoked turkey, bacon, lettuce, vine ripened tomato and mayonnaise on toasted multi-grain bread, served with German potato salad which was appetizing! The turkey was nice and juicy and perfectly light after eating a full breakfast.

For dessert, Mike had the New York Style Cheesecake served with strawberries and I had the Brownie Sundae - vanilla ice cream and a fudge brownie topped with hot fudge, whipped cream and a cherry. Both were very good, but we were too full to eat a lot of them.

The service at the Plaza was wonderful, but it's not a place I would put on my must do list. It was nice to sit down, be waited on and be out of the heat, but the food was sub-par! We rate the Plaza :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Once again, our tummies were full and it was pool/nap time so we headed back to the Poly for some refreshing relaxy time!

I did twitter that and it was worth it! There was even a photopass photographer out to take our pictures!

So we hopped on the boat back to the Poly and as we arrived and walked along the beach back to our room, Mike was like, "Let's see how much it will cost to have a lagoon view room." I said, "OK!" and the next thing we knew we were packing up all of our goodies (not to be mistaken with The Goodys!!) and headed across the hall to a MK view room! Oh, it was beautiful and peaceful and definitely worth the extra $110 a night!! Happy Mother's Day to me and Happy 7th Anniversary to us!! Little did we know, that would not be our only room change during this trip!!! Curious?:confused3

This was on the bed of our new room!
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2010/765.jpg

After we took in the beauty of the new view, we went to the pool for a dip and then came back so Emily could take a nap before our anniversary dinner at California Grill. We ate there last year for our anniversary and we were looking forward to going back!

Emily was still napping when we jumped on the resort monorail to the Contemporary. Our ADR was for 6:30pm and they had a table ready, but we wanted a window seat so we had to wait about 20 minutes, which was fine because it gave Emily a chance to wake up.

Emily woke up and we headed up the elevator and headed to the observation deck for some pics, but it wasn't long before they called us for our table:

On to the good stuff...The FOOD!!!!
Mike started with sushi! I can't remember which one he chose, but I think it is tuna.
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2010/378.jpg

Mike loved this appetizer and claimed it to be the best and freshest tuna he has ever had!

I had the Sonoma Goat Cheese Ravioli - with sun-dried tomatoes, pesto, shiitake mushrooms and basil
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2010/380.jpg

OMG! This ravioli was so scrumptious, I could have eaten a few more! It was bursting with flavor, the cheese was smooth and creamy and the sauce, oh, the sauce!! Tomatoie and light! Highly recommended!

For our entrees, Mike and I both picked the Oak-fired Filet of Beef with cheesy Yukon gold potato mash, sautéed broccolini, and and teriyaki barbecue sauce
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2010/382.jpg

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2010/381.jpg

The steaks were tender and melted in your mouth just like I remembered them from the year before! (I will say that the Filet I had at the Yachtsman Steakhouse was better though!)
The potatos and broccolini are the perfect compliment to the steak and it's teriyaki BBQ sauce! DROOL!

As we were devouring our steaks, the sun was setting and it was very romantic!
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2010/388.jpg

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2010/390.jpg

And then came the desserts!
Mike ordered the "Celebration Inspired" Banana Creme Brulee with a trio of banana cakes, caramel ice cream and caramelized bananas
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2010/383.jpg

This was very tasty, but the creme brulee was a little runny. The bananas were super yummy though!

I had the Valrhona Chocolate Cake and Raspberry - Warm chocolate cake with molten center, housemade raspberry ice cream and raspberry sauce

It was everything I was dreaming of as a chocoholic! The cake was moist and gooey in the middle and the raspberry ice cream was light and sweet. Emily helped me lick the plate clean!

We love the California Grill for the food, but most of all, for the view. You can't get a better shot of the MK and Seven Seas Lagoon! The restaurant is a little loud because of it's open kitchen, but I would definitely recommend this restaurant for your special occasion! We will definitely eat here again, if not only for the view! We rate the CG :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 !!

What a great Mother's Day. I just told my husband that I would love to be at Disney World on Mother's Day and eat breakfast at Crystal Palace. I can't believe it wasn't crowded. I figured it would be.

I'm loving your TR! I have a 22 m/o DD named Emily! Your Emily is just adorable! We will also be celebrating our 7th anniversary during our trip. I just mentioned to my DH that I was reading your report and how nice it is to read about a husband that is as excited about visiting The World as the wife and kids are. Sometimes it seems that the DH is just a reluctant passenger but your isn't! My DH promised to keep the upbeat spirit during our September trip after we talked about yours. Great TR and am looking forward to more! :thumbsup2

Emily had the pizza here and it was GOOD! It's hand made dough and wood fired and HUGE!! We took her left overs and had them as a late night snack! I also think it is worth it to wait for a window table!

He has an input here and there, especially when it come to the food! Your DH will be just as excited as you, he'll start to get gitty about a week before you leave! That's how Mike is! Are you writing a pre-trip report? If not, you should! I'd love to hear about your plans!:yay:

Ok, so I've been slacking on the TR over the weekend! I know you guys are waiting with baited breath for the next installment so here it goes!

Once we had enjoyed every bite of our dinner at California Grill, we headed back to the MK for EMH. We headed down Main Street and through the Castle to Fantasyland:
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2010/395.jpg

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2010/396.jpg

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2010/402.jpg

There was no line for Dumbo so that's where we headed first. Mike and Emily got in line and as they were about to get on the ride, who shows up? Mickey and Minnie!
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2010/405.jpg

They were allowed to board first and then Mike and Emily got to choose their Elephant!
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2010/411.jpg

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2010/406.jpg

We managed to ride all of the rides in Fantasyland in no time. Here is MeeMee enjoying IASW!
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2010/092.jpg

After Fantasyland, we headed for Tomorrowland where we rode the Tomorrowland Speedway, Astro Orbiter, Monsters Inc. (Emily thought this she was HILARIOUS!) and Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin where I managed to score:
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2010/096.jpg

Yeah! Don't ask me how that happened, but I am a Space Ranger indeed!! As we were about to exit the ride, Mike's phone dropped out of his pocket and onto the track of the ride. He let the CM know and was showing him exactly where it was, you could even see it from the end of the ride, but the CM was a bingbat, for lack of better word and couldn't get it so Mike said screw it and got back on the ride to get it himself. :headache:Mike is not the most patient of men, so at this point he was fuming and ready to call it a night. We headed out and enjoyed our boat ride back to the Poly.

Now for the HUGE news!!!

party:I'M PREGNANT!!party:

Yup! We were a family of 4 on this vacation after all!! After we got back I was soooo tired all the time, but just figured it was the post-Disney slump until I started feeling quesy! It's still early (as you can see by my new ticker) and I was going to wait to tell you guys, but what the heck! We've been trying since our last trip to Disney in May 2008 so I'm just excited and overwhelmed with the fear of, OMGosh! I'm gonna have to care for 2 kids now!!:rotfl:Now you also know why we have choosen not to go back to Disney until Fall 2010!

Monday, May 11th

After waking up to our new beautiful view...ahhhhhh...we got ready and caught the bus to DHS. We weren't in a real hurry, but wanted to make sure we were early enough for TSM FP. It was HOT already! I think we arrived at DHS around 10am and went straight to the back of the park for our FP. The return time was 1:15-2:15pm so we went to Starring Rolls for some breakfast:
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2011/415.jpg

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2011/417.jpg

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2011/414.jpg

After breakfast we headed over to the Playhouse Disney area where Handy Manny and June were out for pictures. The lines were pretty short so Emily and I hopped in while Mike went to the little boys room. I don't have any pics because they are on my Photopass CD which should be here in a few days...I can't wait!

Anyway, after seeing HM and June, it was time for the Playhouse Disney show so we got in line and in we went. On man, that air conditioning felt so good!
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2011/267.jpg

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2011/264.jpg

Emily loves this show. She has seen it 3 times now and just boogies everytime! We love to watch her enjoying herself so much!

We wanted to see the Little Mermaid next, but the next show wasn't fpr another 45 min so we headed towards Star Tours, Mike rode that and then to our lunch ressie at Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater. I can't believe we didn't take any pics of the restaurant. Anyway, we were sat in a car in the front of the restaurant close to the movie screen.

For an appetizer, Mike ordered the 7 Bean Beef Chili - with shredded cheddar, pico de gallo, and tortilla strips
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2011/270.jpg

Mike makes a kick a$$ chili, but he said this one was really good.

I ordered the Spinach and Artichoke Dip - A blend of Monterey Jack, swiss, and asiago with spinach, artichokes, and corn tortilla chips for my appetizer
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2011/269.jpg

and as you can see, I ordered a chocolate shake, YUMMO! The spinach dip was nice and cheesy and artichoky! It was good!

For our entrees, we both had the Angus Chuck Burger - Flame-broiled beef patty topped with cheddar or swiss cheese, sauteed onions, mushrooms and crispy bacon. Served with a choice of cucumber-melon salad or french fries. I had the salad and Mike had the fries.
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2011/271.jpg

This was the only burger we had this trip and it was juicy and delicious! Oh, and HUGE! I could only eat half! We loved Sci-Fi for lunch, it was fun to watch the silly movie promos, Emily got a kick out of eating in the car, the food was perfect for lunch and the air conditioning couldn't be beat. Did I mention it was 95 degrees today! I would definitely eat here again, but I want to try 50's Prime Time Cafe first! We rate Sci-Fi :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Oh, I forgot, we didn't get dessert this day because we were so full, but you can get a milk shake as a drink or dessert on the DDP and DxDP!

After lunch we went in search of Lightening McQueen and Mater. Emily loves Cars and seeing them was a must! We, again have photos, but they are on the Photopass CD so I will have to post them later!

Next, I wanted to find the infamous Singing in the Rain umbrella that I had never seen before in all of my visits to DHS or MGM as it was! Did I find it?

Yes, I did! It was right back by Lightening and Mater!
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2011/273.jpg

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2011/274.jpg

Emily wanted to keep jumping on the little pad that made the rain fall, but alas, we had TSM to ride so that is where we headed next! We waited about 10 minutes in the FP line and the stand-by line was 55 minutes. It is a long wait, but at least the line is in the air conditioning!

Anywho! OMGosh! TSM is the best ride! I had so much fun! Emily and I rode together on one side and Mike was on the other. I scored 121,000, Emily's score was 8900 and I can't remember what Mike scores, but I'm sure it was higher than me! We came off of that ride with grins from ear to ear and couldn't wait to ride it again, but FP's were sold out for the day so we figured maybe we would hit it during EMH.

Mike was HOT at this point so I could sense a meltdown looming if we didn't get back to the Poly and the Volcano pool so that is where we headed.

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2011/433.jpg

I think this was the day that the Poop Bandit struck the Poly! We were swimming along and then the pool was closed!
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2011/440.jpg

They wouldn't say it was poop, but we did see them skimming the pool! :scared1: The Poly people just kept calling it "unscheduled maintenence"! Funny, because the quiet pool was closed earlier that day for some "unscheduled maintenence" too! The Poop Bandit struck twice! Ha Ha, maybe that is what I should have titled this TR!!!

Up Next: Did we make it back for EMH and Kona!

I remember being in Disney and we got your twitter updates right to Wayne's phone- well when the "poop bandit" twitter came up- I remember cracking up!!!:rotfl2: That was so funny!!!!

We loved TSM too. I wish I took a pic of my score because I already forgot. I would suggest if you try Prime Time next time, to have it for a dinner... It is really heavy food for lunch. We were SO FULL when we left that place.. oh and get the brownie sundae.. it was SO good!

Ok I am so far behind. Daycare takes a lot out of me.... Pregnant, Really? I am so happy for you all! Hey I got to ride EE with you and the baby...how cool!!! I was totally wondering why you weren't going back until 2010. Now it all makes sense. I am selling most of my baby stuff at my garage sale. The neighbor lady laughed at me and said don't come tell me you are pregnant in another month or two. Funny!

Wow...we went to the pool everyday at AK and never experienced the poop bandit! I remember when I was a lifeguard and having to shock the pool afterwards. Ugh! The clorine smell never goes away!!!

I totally need to remember the umbrella next time at DHS!!! We forgot about The Cars. We even have Austins room decorated that way. Jason said...we go all that way and you didn't get a photo? Oops!

Well I can't wait to keep reading. Hope the quesy stomach doesn't last long. But it is sooo worth it! :grouphug:

Congrats on your good news! I hope you are feeling well and taking it easy with that toddler already in your house. ;)

Um...re: the Poo Bandit....don't they require swim diapers on kids under 5? Sorry to sound naive but our neighborhood pool does. Just...ewwww....:eek::eek:

At your encouragement I have started a PTR but haven't posted it yet. I've been sort of waiting for hours to be released for September. I've got it all on word though and will post it soon.

Looking forward to more!

You might not be able to make out this picture very well, but it is 2 lizards on a rock and they are, um...making love? Actually, they were going at it pretty hot and heavy! There should have been some bow chicka bow wow music playing in the background. Mike and I were cracking up! In fact, I think the lizard on top, I assume he was the male, had his hand in the air at one point like he was ridin' um cowboy!!! (Yes, we are immature!!)

So after the lizard porn, we headed to Captain Cook's for a snack. We had a 6:00pm ADR at Flying Fish Cafe at the Boardwalk tonight and we were going to go back to DHS for EMHs. While we were eating our Mickey head rice krispy treats we decided to see if we could get into Ohana or Kona for dinner instead. I ran upstairs and Kona only had a 20 min wait so we took it and ran back to the room to change. Well, our buzzer went off as soon as we got to the room so we hurried, got dressed and made our way back to Kona. Of course, since they had called us and we didn't show, we were put at the end of the list again. This was about 5:30pm. So we waited...and waited...and waited. We walked over to Somoa Snacks where Emily found this with the help or push or incouragement of Mike ( I think he wanted her to have it more than she wanted it):
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2011/099.jpg
I thought we were going to have to buy an extra suitcase just for Mickey!

Finally, after asking about our ressie for the 3rd time, we were seated at 7:15pm. I think they had deleted us and didn't add us back to the list when we missed our first buzz because the hostess went and talked to the table assigner and low and behold, we were seated immediately. Well, good bye DHS EMHs at this point. We decided to enjoy the night and we'd go back on Saturday.

OK, so you want to see the food, do you?

Let's start with the yummy and soft and delicious and....
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2011/455.jpg
as you can see, Mickey dined with us tonight!

Mike's appetizer was the Lump Crab Cakes - with Asian tartar and pineapple relish
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2011/456.jpg

I'm not a fan of crab cakes, but these were delicious! Mike said they were definitely the best he had ever had. OK, he says that a lot!

I had sushi from the Kona Sushi Bar. It was the California Luau Roll - fresh jumbo lump crab, pineapple, and avocado
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2011/457.jpg

Mmmmmmm! I could eat that again right now! It was so fresh! The rice was perfectly sticky. I'm drooling thinking about it!

For an entree, Mike ordered the Tuna Oscar - Served with fried green tomatoes, tempura-fried jumbo lump crab, and wasabi hollandaise
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2011/460.jpg

Again, YUM!! Mike loved this meal, then again, I don't think we usually have a meal that we don't love!!:rotfl2: I'm not a tuna eater, but this was scrumptious!

I enjoyed the Pan-Asian Noodles - Asian egg noodles with sliced chicken, pineapple, seasonal vegetables, and a House-made sweet-and-sour sauce
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2011/459.jpg

Again, Kona won me over! The noodles were excellent and perfectly sweet and sour, but not too sweet or sour!!

On to the desserts:
I think Mike had Coconut Cream Kiki Tart
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2011/462.jpg

I had the Kona Kone
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2011/463.jpg

Emily and I really liked this! I love ice cream!! Emily and Mike ate the cotton candy. I'm not a fan, too sugary!

Our service was excellent this evening and we LOVED Kona. We will definitely be eating here again. Everything was moutwatering! We rate Kona :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Too funny about the poop bandit!

I liked Kona too but I think that things are just different when you're on the dining plan. In Jan. we paid OOP for the same entrees ya'll got at Kona. I was upset at how expensive it ended up being. It was good but small portions at big prices. But we ate at places this May on DP that were not as good as Kona and I wasn't upset. I would have been happy with Kona if we were on the DP. :confused3

Tuesday, May 12th

Today we woke up to another beautiful sunny, HOT day! I was excited today because we were having breakfast with the princesses in Norway and Emily had not seen the princesses yet! We jumped on the Monorail over to Epcot and arrived around 9:00am.

We first spotted Daisy and Stitch. There were only 2 families in line so we stopped to say "Hi!"
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2012/464.jpg

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2012/471.jpg

She was a little apprehensive about Stitch at first:
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2012/475.jpg

but then she gave in:
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2012/480.jpg

After waving good-bye to Daisy and Stitch, we headed to Innoventions where Emily made some paper!
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2012/483.jpg

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2012/484.jpg

Once our paper was dry, we were ready for our 10:30am ADR at Akerhaus. We headed over and had to wait about 15 minutes.
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2012/485.jpg

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2012/490.jpg

Emily played while we waited. There was a CM blowing bubbles for all of the kids.
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2012/491.jpg

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2012/494.jpg

Finally, we were called and we got to see Belle:
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2012/500.jpg

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2012/Image0754.jpg

Back up, beep, beep, beep!! This morning, I told Emily we were going to see Belle so she insisted on wearing her yellow Belle dress! Worked out great, they look so pretty together!

Anyway, on to the food!
I forgot to take pictures this morning, but they have a buffet with fruit, pastries, pickled hering, you know, the usuall breakfast foods!!

The warm food was brought to the food family style. We were served eggs, bacon, sausage, and some DELICIOUS potato casserole! As we ate, the princesses came around to say "Hello!" We first saw Aurora come out and Emily was yelling with excitement, "There's Sweeping Booty!!"
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2012/510.jpg

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2012/511.jpg

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2012/527.jpg

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2012/535.jpg

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2012/539.jpg

After every princess, Emily would turn to us and say, "What's next?" She was so excited to see the princesses! She even coped a feel on Cinderella and Aurora! Mike was jealous!:lmao:

Our breakfast was good at Akerhaus, but we felt kind of rushed to get our food choked down even though we weren't going to leave until we had seen everyone of the princesses. Our waitress kept asking if we were done and if we needed anything else. We would eat here again only because of the princesses. Maybe next time we will try lunch or dinner. We rate Akerhaus :thumbsup2:thumbsup2!!

It was time for a ride with the trolls on Maelstrom! Man that ride seems shorter and shorted everytime I ride it, but Emily loved it and so that made it more fun!

Next, we backtracked to Mexico for some fiesta time with Donald. I love this boat ride through Mexico, it's so peaceful! Emily played some instruments and then stopped at the KidCot station where she got Sharpie on her pretty yellow dressed. I was so bummed. Why can Crayola be the sponser for the KidCot stations. Those are at least washable! UGH! Next, Emily and Mike spotted more instruments at the Cantina shop:
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2012/543.jpg

I made Mike try on this sombrero!
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2012/541.jpg

At this point it was getting HOT so we headed to the front of the park and rode Spaceship Earth again then back to the Poly for some pool time.

Up Next: A rainy evening at Epcot!!

Awwww! How sweet. My husband, John, and I own a custom cabinet shop which is on the same property as our home. Our son, Hunter, for years and years, told all of his friends and his teachers that his daddy didn't have a job. When we asked him about it, he said, well, he never leaves the house so he must not have a job. Like you said, kids say the darndest things!

Awww!! I love your pics from Epcot! We did the Norway breakfast and LOVED it!! We didn't feel rushed at all but our ressie was for 8:00 a.m. Not sure if that made a difference. But I also noticed that the restaurant was only about half full the morning we were there.

Aww Emily is sooo cute with all the characters. Chase and I tried to wait in line for Daisy in stich but wouldnt you know they needed a break so we just decided to leave and do something else. I would love to eat at the princess breakfast. It looks so fun but I had to pretty much bribe Chase to go see them at the magic kingdom so I dont think he would go for it. Maybe when we have kids. I cant wait to hear more about Epcot night.

I love your update. I swear it must have been something going on at the character breakfasts this time. I guess Maria, or CM waitress, decided we would leave if she didn't bring us orange juice. Well, she was wrong, after I had waited an hour for my table I was going to get Dallas' picture with every character. I know he will not care for doing the whole character thing soon and I wanted to get the pictures.

The picture of Emily with Belle is so pretty. I love the one you have with her walking around and she looks up at the camera.

Great update Wendy! Emily looks so pretty with Belle. We probably won't go back to Akerhaus either. Went last year and it was the worst meal of our trip. We were rushed too. I liked CRT much better for the princesses.

So I left my last post as we were heading back to the Poly for some nap and pool time. We relaxed in the room for a while then headed to the pool which we enjoyed for about an hour until all of a sudden then wind started to GUST! Half of the sand from the beach was now in the pool, it was like the sand bottom pool at Stormalong Bay! We decided we'd had enough pool time and headed to the room where I changed Emily's clothes and she fell asleep instantly. Mike and I enjoyed sitting on the balcony and watching the rain roll in over the lake. We were a little bummed it was beginning to rain, but relieved that the temperature went from 95 degrees to 80 in a matter of minutes. The cool air and breeze felt so good!

Anyway, we had a ressie at Tutto Italia so I put a sleeping Emily in her stroller and we headed to Epcot via the Monorail. At this point it was only lightly sprinkling so no biggie! We walked directly to the restaurant and we were seated almost immediately after checking in.

The waiter brought us Verdure, Olive "Giardiniera" e Ricotto con Basilico & Pane De Casa - with Tuscan olive oil - herb and parmesan grissini breadsticks
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2012/545.jpg

For an appetizer, Mike ordered the Caesar Salad - romaine, olive crostini, pomodorini, and shaved parmesan
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2012/547.jpg

Mike said this was one of the best Caesar salads he has ever had. He loved it!

I ordered the Fresh "Bufala" Mozzarella - vine ripened tomatoes, basil and Tuscan olive oil
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2012/546.jpg

OMG! This was the best appetizer of my whole vacation, scratch that, this was the best appetizer I have ever had in my whole life! It was sooooo mmmmmmmmmm! The tomatoes we perfectly ripe and sweet and the slightly salty fresh mozzarella, oh man, this melted in my mouth! I HIGHLY recommend it! YUM!

For dinner, Mike got the Lasagna al Forno with meat ragu, bechamel and parmesan
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2012/549.jpg

It was HUGE!! Mike said it was terrrific and could only eat a little over half of it! It was definitely filling!

I got the Cannelloni al Forno - baked with spinach, ricotta, bechamel and parmesan cheese
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2012/551.jpg

Yum! I love anything italian especially when it has baked mozzarella cheese on top! This was delicious and not so heavy that I couldn't enjoy my dessert!

Oh yeah, while we were eating, we could hear the rain pouring outside! It was getting loud and we were a little worried about getting soaked after our dinner because I forgot to bring the poncos!

Anyway, back to dessert! Mike had the Mocha Tiramisu - mascarpone cheese, espresso coffee, savoiardi biscuits and chocolate and a Cappuccino
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2012/553.jpg

The tiramisu was nice and spongy and creamy! Mike enjoyed it! He also said the cappuccino was smooth and frothy!

I ordered the Copetta Sotto Bosco - berries, zabaglione cream gelato and chocolate sauce
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2012/552.jpg

It was like a creamy hot fudge sundae! YUMMY! Emily helped me eat this one!

This was our second visit to Tutto Italia and it will not be the last! We LOVE Tutto and think it is a great value on the DDP. We love pasta and Italian food in general so this place is right up our alley! The service is unbelievable! Have you ever seen the SNL skit with Kirstie Alley where she is in an Italian restaurant and the waiters keep coming over and licking her face and saying, "Bellissima!" We had like 4 waiters coming over to make sure we were taken care of and Mike and I were teasing they were going to start licking my face! We were cracking up! Well, we give Tutto Italia :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

By the time we finished our meal, the rain had let up to a sprinkle, so we bought some ponchos. Emily was having a blast jumoing in the puddles!

I was walking while I took those pics so they are blurry! Sorry!

We enjoyed a nice evening stroll through the World Showcase! We stopped in America and saw the movie there for the 1st time. It was really good! I almost started crying, it was pretty touching!

Of course, we couldn't go through france without stopping at the Patisserie!
Chocolate Eclair

Chocolate Moose
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2012/571.jpg

Emily enjoyed a Chocolate Chip cookie!
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2012/572.jpg

I don't know how we had the room for those after the big dinner we had just consumed, but we managed!!:rotfl:

After touring the rest of the WS, we made our way to the front of the park, hopped on the Monorail and we were back at the Poly in no time!

WOW- that place does look great... I am so bummed it was on our list and we changed it to Coral Reff- which we were not wicked excited about and ended up not going!! Next time for sure I want to try Tutto!!

While you were having dinner, listening to the rain, we were sitting in the airport waiting for our delayed plane to arrive!! It was amazing- the whole time we were there no rain and 100 degrees- we are ready to go home and rain comes and it cools off!!

Thanks for the rainy update;). Why did you have to go and post those pictures of Tutto Italla? I had all my ADRs made and swore I wouldn't change them but now you've got me wondering what I can switch around in order to work in Tutto. Ugh! Seriously, great update.

Thanks for the info on Akherus. Now that Ariel has her grotto I think we will stick to CRT. Cayley calls her "sleeping booty" too!

Wow great update! I'm glad you like Tutto. We ate there last year and didn't care for it. I don't really branch out though so it was probably our tastes. I'm almost 23 and still eat like I'm 3, I swear. Anyway we chickened out of going to Epcot that night cause of the rain but now I wish we would have gone. It looks like you all had a lot of fun. There is always room for more dessert! :thumbsup2

Yeah, we were pretty bummed that the Red Wings lost last night. They just looked tired and didn't play like themselves. Oh well, there's always next year!

I love me some hockey players!!
