Hey all, my little fam-damily will be taking off for the world this coming Saturday. We're a family of four with a 4 1/2 yr old and a 2 1/2 yr old.
We're on the Quick Service dinning plan for the week and here's my question...
What are the 5 locations on the resort properties that you all would consider a "don't miss" for the Quick Service dinning plan?
Now I know this might be hard, because obivously many of the resort options are Table Service or sitdown. But, what is out there at the hotels that is just worth visiting?
For example, I hear the Tonga Toast is a don't miss at the Poly!
Please give just a quick little 5 point bullet list and maybe a reason or dish at each ya like!

Can't say I've ever eaten at a resort QS and considered it "don't Miss". We don't generally travel to the resorts to eat QS, just TS.
But in the parks it's a little different story, we always try to catch these restaurants:
Epcot - Sunshine Seasons - lots of variety and good food too.
Epcot - Don't remember the name, but the QS in Moracco was very tasty. Also, we used Snack credits to get some pastries in France - yum!
AK - Flame Tree BBQ - best QS food on property (great ribs and pulled pork and the chicken salad was also excellent). Plus the outdoor seating, assuming the weather co-operates, is very nice.
MK - Cosmic Rays - again because of the variety, plus the toppings bar
MK - Pinnochio's Village Haus - OK, the food quality dropped off terribly in the last few years, they used to have some great sandwhiches, and now its just crappy pizza. But, if you have little ones, you can get a table overlooking the boat launching into It's a Small World. My DD(4 then 5) was entertained by waving at the people for the whole meal. With little ones, it's a good choice.
DHS - Sorry, haven't found QS here that's any good. The Pizza Planet location is a total missed oppurtunity....why not theme it like the Pizza Planet from TS? Nope, just a plain-old arcade. We usually end up at the food area near the BatB theater, as there is variety there at the different counters, but it is definitely nothing special.
DTD - We liked Wolfgang Puck's express as a QS a few years back, but I think they may have changed that.
Sorry, I couldn't help you about the resorts.

Wolf Gang Puck Express is really good and the value is incredible with the dinning. Our bill for my DH and I was $47.05 for lunch. No way would I dine there without the dining plan, but with it you better believe it.

There's a lot of choices and good portion size & quality. You can get a $22 Ribeye steak lunch/dinner as a CS meal!

I would consider the trip for
Pepper market at CSR (by the way no longer offer steak at lunch)
Captain Cooks at Poly, haven't been there recently but by what I hear it may be worth a stop.
and finally for the beignets I have been know to stop at POFQ a time or two.
I to would recommend WGP express big time, that is my favorite CS, I just love their BBQ Chicken Quisadilla

1: Port Orleans Riverside: The Mill - The create your own Pasta and Salad are best value for your point and fantastic food all around.
2: Polynesian: Captain Cook's - TONGA TOAST for Breakfast and DOLE WHIP at any time. The Pork Sandwich is really good too.
3: Pop Century: Everything Pop - Tie Dye Cheescake. Good selection for the whole family.
Beyond that, there are a lot of similarities between food courts otherwise...

We were very pleased with AKL CS called Mara's. The chicken Ceasar Salad was yummy! It would be a nice CS with a trip to see the animals for your little ones.

Captain Cook's at the Poly -- sandwich with great chips, Dole Whip for dessert
Mara at AKL -- African stew or the half chicken dinner, Simba's pawprints or Zebra domes for dessert; the rotisserie chicken kids meal is good too
Hurricane Hanna's Grill at BC -- they now serve Beaches and Cream cheeseburgers! Yum!
Pop Century Food Court -- we liked the Mom's Night Out dinners, and the dessert selection is terrific!
Wolfgang Puck Express at DtD Marketplace -- the best service anywhere, and everything we have tried has been good, creme brulee for dessert

Really? This is interesting news to me... What do you get as choices for drinks and desserts on the DDP with your CS meal credit?
And is this place an easy walk from the WS (or convenient with a boat ride from DHS)?

I was getting my hopes up that there might be something just a smidge better to go with it... but I guess I can't be too surprised. If the desserts and drinks get too good, people won't need to visit Beaches N Cream anymore, would they?

If the desserts and drinks get too good, people won't need to visit Beaches N Cream anymore, would they?LOL, yes, that's true. The desserts were standard cart fare, sufficient, but nothing special. The burger did come with a side... I'm thinking it was a choice of potato chips or coleslaw, something like that. Again, nothing special, but the burgers are SO good. It is nice to be able to get them with a CS credit.

We just got back from BC and ate several times at Hurricane Hannah's. We expected the burgers to be different this year after hearing they were now B&C burgers. However, they were just the same as last year -- good but really greasy. All I can say is - watch out for the birds!! They really love them (and the fries that come with them)! :rotfl: They also have a chicken flatbread and it's quite good.

So, I am correct that you can go into Mara and order zebra domes and use one snack credit? I have never even been to AKL. We have reservations at Boma this time. And, I have heard so much about zebra domes and being the chocoholic that I am I would Love to try them. If this is possible, I am very excited! :cool1:

For us, it would be:
Captain Cooks at Poly
Mara at AKL
Artist's Palette at SSR (flatbreads!)
Wolfgang Puck Express
and ... though we haven't tried it yet, the menu looks wonderful, the new QS at the Contemporary.
I was pressed for a number 5 as we don't think much of Roaring Forks, Gasparilla's, ASMO food court, the BC Marketplace (though it does have gelato) and Boardwalk Bakery (again, desserts are worth getting), the only others we have tried.
