Princess and the Frog
I was going to post a new thread about the different turn I found Disney was taking. It seemed all the beautiful princess movies Disney was making, the true enchanting movies were all years ago. As of lately a lot of the movies seemed to go off to a different genre than we have known of Disney and I was hoping a new princess related movie would be coming out.
Can't wait for this one!

I haven't seen any book deals for this (I work in publishing) so I would still be tentative about its actual release date.

I was just thinking recently that, with the release of Tinkerbell and Enchanted, that Disney had gone back to the Princess movie genre already :goodvibes
Anything that gets whole cinema-showings of grown-ups shouting at the screen "kiss her, kiss her" has to be a proper Princess movie, doesn't it (or was that just us when we went to see Enchanted :flower3::rotfl:?)

I'm soooo excited for The Princess and the Frog:lovestruc!!! Been waiting for not just a princess movie but a classically aniamted movie since John Lasseter(:worship:) became head of animation at disney!(The guys who were in charge before him closed down the classical animation department:scared1:!) It's what the Walt Disney Studios are built on after all!
Also excited about Rapunzel, due out in 2010, supposed to be the first film that really combines the look of the old classics and 3D animation...

it looks fab ... I want to see it :goodvibes
dd would love it too ! I took dd to see Wall E for her first trip to the cinema and she loved it and was such a good girl, dh and I took her a week later as he wanted to see it but she wasn't that much of a good girl on that trip and everytime she saw Wall E or Eve she had to announce it very loudly, in the end I took her out as she just didn't shut up :lmao: I blamed it on daddy being there !!!!

I too will prob take DD1 for her first cinema outing to see this film :goodvibes She's just turned 4 but such a wriggle bottom she wouldn't stay still unless it's something very good!
I have to say I was in awe at the Tinkerbell film - it's fab and such a cute story - always have a tear in my eye at the end when she takes the musical statue to 'you know who' - don't want to spoilt it in case peeps here haven't see it ;)
So, any ideas when it will be released then - I'm sure I saw a trailer for it recently?

Thanks for the link. They do look very good, Rapunzel looks exciting can't wait for that release.
So with these two new Princess stories in the works what other ones are left?
Disney have pratically done them all......
I can only think of the princess and the Pea that hasn't been done yet!

Poppyanna, thats amazing that your mother in law went to see the original release of Snow White! Being the first feature lenght animation ever, it really must have been something special!:lovestruc was definitely quite scary though!
PJackson, think it's due for release in the States for Christmas this year but it's already been postponed once so it might not be set in stone, but if that is the case we should get around Jan/Feb next year...
Oh and the Tinkerbell movie is brill! Thought I wouldn't like Tink as much if she could talk but it won me over!:goodvibes
They have basically done all the well known princess fairy tales...except for as you said Trilli-magic, the princess and the pea...I'm sure there must be lesser known princess stories though, maybe from different parts of the world that they could do...There are a couple of Irish legends we learned at primary school with princesses in them that might work as animations...and Britain actually has had and still has real princesses so they could do something with that as neither of us has our own disney princess!:)
