http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/Victoria83/HPIM3476.jpg

DS (Tyson)- Our 26 month old son who loves Disney World. He is now obsessed with the Monorail which is what lead me to name the TR title. I can't wait to tell you that story. LOL

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/Victoria83/HPIM3455.jpg

We stayed at AKL from May 9 to the 16 with park hoppers. As soon as I get pictures loaded I'll post them. I took about 500 on my camera and at least 100 on photopass.

Can't wait to hear more!

It was so nice to meet all of you too. You all are so nice! I wish we could have rode everest. We never made it back. LOL AK is now our least favorite park. It's just too hot there. LOL

Wow I can't wait to see all of your pics. I did a horrible job this time with pics. They are mostly close ups of Tyson and Brad. LOL I think I was so busy trying to deal with Tyson that I forgot to enjoy the trip. I'm looking forward to going back with my mom. She's going with us in Dec. and it will be so great to hand Tyson over when he's having a breakdown.

I know what you mean about being tired. I'm exhausted. I have blisters all over my feet and I'm sunburned. LOL All I want to do is sleep for a few days.

I've go to catch up with everyone's TRs!!

It's okay to be tired! WDW can be exhausting!

Yeah it was! I think that 8 days was great but with a toddler it was a bit much for me. I would love maybe 5 days at Disney with a down day and then maybe 3 days in Daytona Beach! That is the ultimate vacation.

I'm here....I'm here. Can't wait to see how your trip went since we hardly ever got to talk!!!

Yay! I'm starting the report today!

OH you are going to have a blast! It's my favorite resort. However, we will be staying at the Contemporary on our next big trip next May. The monorail is worth it and their CS is too die for! OH MY GOD THE CUPCAKES! I miss it. I can't wait to show that massive mound of yumminess!

Count me in! Looking foward to more.

We are staying at the BLT on our trip in Sept. Dealing with buses and our little girl on the last trip was awful. Now we have another little girl who will be the same age on our trip. DH said no way to buses! So monorail resort it is. When the kids get older and become better listeners and can sit still for more than 2 seconds...we will stay moderate or value. But for sanity sakes...toddlers and buses don't mix.

May 8 My brother's graduation and last minute packing

As some of you know, my brother graduated from college on the day before we arrived at Disney. The reason I am adding this to my TR is because I left at 2 am the next morning so it feels like it was all part of the day we left for Disney since I only slept for 1 hour that night.

His graduation was at 10 am so Brad decided to stay home and let Tyson sleep. I went to the graduation with my mom, dad, and grandmama. It was long but the speaker was good. All I could do is keep turning to my mom and say this time tomorrow I will be sitting on the balcony watching zebras. Well, at least that was my hope. I had my timing off a little bit.

Here's a pic of the new graduate
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/Victoria83/HPIM2970.jpg

So afterwards we decided to go to lunch at Wild Wing Cafe. Brad and Tyson met us there. Turns out Brad took Tyson to Publix to get some diet cokes and Tyson got a free sugar cookie. I rode with my brother from the graduation to the restaurant.

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/Victoria83/HPIM2975.jpg

Wild Wing is ok. I chose it but it turned out being really greasy. It all depends on what you order.

We finished eating and took my grandma to our house to get her car. She would be watching Tyson while we finished packing and loading the car. We got Tyson a bag ready for her house and headed over there. After dropping him off we went to Walmart to buy more last minute stuff, which I now can't even remember what we got. Brad bought a five dollar movie and watched it all afternoon instead of sleeping for a while. He was suppose to sleep while I packed. Well, he finally went to bed and I finished getting all the bags together. I let him sleep an hour and a half then woke him up to help me pack the car. After that we left to get Tyson, but I was hungry so we stopped at McDonald's for some chicken nuggets and fries. I thought I would be fine eating it since my stomach never hurts after eating it but I was wrong. I felt kind of bad the rest of the night. I guess I shouldn't eat McDonald's at 9 at night. So we picked up Tyson and went home. I got him to sleep around 11 pm after a bath. We bought him some Mickey Mouse Clubhouse PJs to travel in. I did a few more things and went to sleep. I slept for about an hour and woke up at 1 am. I went ahead and got ready.

May 9 Travel and Arrival at AKL

Mom wanted me to call her about 30 minutes before we left. So I called and she came downstairs to help me bring up the few things that I had to put in the car last minute like my computer, camcorder, diapers, etc.

SIDE NOTE: To those of you who did not follow my PTR, my DH, DS and I live in my parents basement apartment while I get my masters. This is the reason I am able to be a SAHM. When I finish and begin working, Brad will go to tech school and get his degree in radiology tech. We have a full kitchen, living room, bedroom, and one bathroom. Tyson sleeps with us but he just got his own bed so we're working on that. We love living here and get along great with my family. I look forward to our own house but feel grateful to have a family who can help.

I changed Tyson's diaper and tried to get him in the car without waking him but that didn't happen. He was excited and knew we were going to Disney World.

He grabbed his pillow and snuggled up ready to go.

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/Victoria83/HPIM2976.jpg

He lasted a few hours. We sang songs and even watched Wiggles on my laptop. Then my laptop died and all you know what broke loose. I have never heard him cry that hard. He was screaming for me to help him and he was trying to unbuckle his seatbelt. He was kicking and gagging. I kept throwing a towel under his chin in case he threw up. As some of you know, if Tyson gets really upset he throws up, kind of like the kids that hold their breath and pass out during a tantrum. He justs gags himself. I gave him some benadryl when he first started crying so he was sleepy but not giving up. Finally after what felt like an hour of screaming but was actually only 15 minutes, we reached the Florida line and that meant the welcome center was next. THANK GOD! So we parked and I fixed him bottle and gave him that. It satisfied him enough to get back in the car seat. DH and I took a potty break and then we went on our way. This was about 5:30 am. Tyson fell asleep about 20 minutes later.

We finally make it to the turnpike and stop to get gas.
This is what the car looked like...I was in the back with Tyson during the drive.

On the outskirts of Orlando we saw hot air balloons in the distance. We eventually saw them setting up on a side road. You can book a hot air balloon ride I guess because I saw a family with young kids about to get on and a banner was on the van to book a ride.

Our GPS took us a different way than we are use to. I was nervous but kept my mouth shut until I saw a exit sign for Disney......that Brad passes right by because the GPS told him to. If you have ever seen The Office it reminded me of the time Michael turns into the lake because the GPS said turn right so he just went right in the lake. The sign said Disney and he passed it. Then the GPS said to turn right and there was no exit we were still driving. Umm I guess someone should have updated the GPS. So we get off at the next exit and wind up on Osceola parkway when Tyson wakes up happy

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/Victoria83/HPIM2988.jpg

I decided to strike a pose too

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/Victoria83/HPIM2989.jpg

We realize the GPS is taking us down the back roads to AKL...that's right....no welcome arch. Read that again NO WELCOME ARCH. Yeah that was bummer for both of us. I did catch a glimpse of a Disney bus with the new celebrate decorations.

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/Victoria83/HPIM2990.jpg

We finally arrive at AKL around 9 am. And I see this:

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/Victoria83/HPIM2991.jpg

The new guard house serving both Jambo and Kidani

Then the sign

Then a glimpse of the building

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/Victoria83/HPIM2993.jpg

Our GPS tried taking us down all sorts of roads plus DH didn't pay attention when I told him to follow the signs for MK. We ended up off property and had two sign greetings. That was OK since I got better pics the second time.

The GPS also tried taking us on Cast member only roads.

I'll be pulling up to that sign in 4 months from today :woohoo: I'm sure it wasn't funny at the time, but your GPS story made me laugh...I always think about that scene too :lmao: My dad has decided that it's fun to try to frustrate the GPS system. Make a U-Turn" over and over. :rotfl: I can't wait to "see" you checking in!!!

Thanks! Yeah I think he's cute too but of course I'm his mom so I'm biased. LOL It definitely was a difficult journey but we made it so I was proud of us. LOL

I'll buy them from you. What do you have left over?

Yeah I'm the biggest I've ever been so I need to lose about a 100 to get to my goal weight however I would still be in a happy range if I lost about 80 lbs. I look back at all my skinny pics and I happy I was. I smiled huge in every pic. I was so happy. I want to feel healthy again and not so weighed down. I don't want to struggle to keep up with Brad on our Dec. trip.

LOL Man I don't trust the GPS anymore. I can drive to Disney with my eyes closed. I don't know why we drove a different way when we always go this certain way.

May 9 Check in

We arrive at AKL around 9:00 am or so. Tyson is very ready to get out of the car.

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/Victoria83/HPIM2994.jpg

We change his diaper and clothes in the car, grab my new mickey purse that I got from Walmart for 13.00 and go check in.

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/Victoria83/HPIM2995.jpg

Welcome Home
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/Victoria83/HPIM2996.jpg

We check in and find out we will be on the 4th floor but we don't know the room yet. We are on zebra trail, arusha savanna. Well, that's 2 of my requests granted so far....arusha, 3rd or 4th floor. Now to see if we get a king bed and a tub instead of roll in shower. We get our KTTW card and the cast member makes Tyson one for the scrapbook! How sweet! He just took a blank card and wrote Tyson's name with a sharpy and drew a mickey head. He also gave Tyson a coloring book and crayons. The book is Timon and Pumbaa and talks about safety in the park and at the resort. Our room isn't ready so we get a little card with a number to call to see if our room is ready. That's ok though because we are going to eat breakfast with Nan, my DH's grandmama.

*For those of you who are new, I love Nan!!! She is just awesome and Brad is her favorite grandchild. Brad is the oldest of the four kids in his family. Also, Nan and I share a common bond beyond loving Brad....we are hated by Brad's mom. So she can always relate to the new stories I have about what my immature MIL has done now. If you feel like it, you can search out the stories on my PTR.

So we check in and decide to go look at the animals before we leave but first the gift shop!

Tyson gets a Mickey hat. He's been talking about a Mickey hat for a few weeks.

We go down to the rock lookout to see the animals.

The zebras were still resting.

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/Victoria83/HPIM2997.jpg

So I took a pic of Brad and Tyson walking away.

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/Victoria83/HPIM2998.jpg

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/Victoria83/HPIM3000.jpg

We get in the car and I didn't realize how tired I was until taking this picture.

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/Victoria83/HPIM3002.jpg

Wow! Look at them tired eyes! LOL

So we take Osceola parkway again to get to Nan's. Bad idea. There's a graduation going on and traffic is backed up a little at one point. But really it's just stop and go with all the traffic lights. We make it to Nan's and visit for a while. We decide to wait until The Catfish Place in St. Cloud opens for lunch at 11 pm. I love this place.

I get fried pickles (they sound gross but don't knock'em until you try them.) It's dill pickle slices fried in a corn meal and flour breading. You can dip them in ranch. I got fried scallops and cole slaw for my entree. I forgot what Brad got. Tyson of course got chicken tenders and fries. We head back to Nan's house and I called to see if the room was ready.

No, not yet.

OK well I want to go to the park so I want to leave and check our luggage and go. But Tyson is getting tired and needs a nap. Brad wants to stay. Alright fine. We'll stay. But we have tickets for this day so I really want to go even though I love Nan. I called back to check the room about 4 more times and finally it's ready at 2 pm. :confused3 So much for an early check in. I was hoping. But I guess it's better than 5 or something.

We go back a different way and take I-4 so we could see the arch.

Brad said this is the Gaylord Palms resort.

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/Victoria83/HPIM3005.jpg

Is it?

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/Victoria83/HPIM3005.jpg

Wow, the savanna views at AKL are so beautiful. I would love to stay in one someday! And I really love those curtain-y things behind the beds, they're so pretty.

I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts on Spoodles... we ate there and LOVED it, I'm so sad it's closing!

Oh I can't wait to tell about Spoodles. I'm sad it's closing too. It was on of our best meals. I love the curtains behind the bed too!

Wow...you got the awesome view. I loved looking at that overlook. I still wish we were on vacation or at least planning another already.

I like the overlook too especially at sunset. It's really pretty. Brad and I keep talking about what we were doing last week at this time. LOL

Oh my, that view is gorgeous!!!!!!!

Awww, Tyson looks like he was so excited to finally be there!!:goodvibes

Oh, we have matching luggage!!! lol!! I have that same Mickey luggage!

LOL Tyson was so excited to be there. He had been talking about it none stop for about 2 weeks. Now he'll say things are going to Disney. Like today, he looked out the window and said the bird is gone. I asked where did it go and he said Disney World. :rotfl:

We love that luggage. We got it for free when we signed up for the Disney Visa.

WOW!! What a great view! Emily loved playing with the sheer curtains too! She kept hiding in them like Tyson is and saying, "I'm getting married!" Too cute!

That's so cute that she played with them too. Ha Ha She already wants to be a little bride. She's so cute.

wow AKL is so beautiful, i can't wait to be there! Looking forward to more!

It was so pretty! I'm about to post my next chapter.

this is post #29- if you click is that number 29 you will get the single post. Hightlight the browser address of that sinngle post and post it .

On the first post can you see an edit button still?

Awesome thank you! When I post that one link how do I change the title to the chapter name instead of the address?

Oh my goodness! Your room view is absolutely gorgeous! :lovestruc I hope we get savannah view. But since we're in a value studio, we won't know if we have pool or savannah view until we get there. Oh well...both are good! :thumbsup2 Oh--and before I forget, I LOVE fried pickles! In fact, your comment made me remember that I dreamed about eating them last night. :confused3 Don't ask me why... :rotfl: Anyway, your room looks gorgeous, I'm glad you had fun with Nan, and I can't wait to hear all about the rest of the first day!!! :woohoo:

I hope you get Savanna view too! :tinker: Here's some pixie dust for you!

I'm so glad I have found someone else who loves fried pickles. Brad likes them too now that he tried them.

May 9 part 3 Spoodles and the Cake

So we leave our room to get to Spoodles. I think we took the AK bus then hopped onto the Boardwalk bus. If I ever want to stay at an Epcot resort, please remind me that the bus stops at like 7 resorts. LOL It took for ever to make it there.

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/Victoria83/HPIM3039.jpg

We make it to Spoodles and have to wait maybe 10 minutes to sit down.

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/Victoria83/HPIM3040.jpg

I decided to get my favorite drink, the Pina Colava!

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/Victoria83/HPIM3041.jpg

The bread
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/Victoria83/HPIM3042.jpg

For some reason I only have pics of Tyson's soup and my entree.

His soup pic was blurry but it was chicken noodle soup. It was ok but to me it tasted like celery. YUCK! Tyson loves to drink the broth of any soup. He got the kids cheese pizza. It was soo good! We ate the left overs the next morning because Tyson eats like a bird!

I got the pork loin with gnocci and spinach. OMGosh this was my fave meal of the whole trip!!! It was so good.

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/Victoria83/HPIM3045.jpg

Tyson got cranky since he still hadn't taken a nap. So Brad took him when he finished eating. Tyson decided to wear the napkin. He told me he was pretty. BTW, my son has a thing with being pretty not handsome. I don't know why but probably because I use the word pretty way more than I say things are handsome. Lately he tries to grab my razor to shave his arm or leg. I stop him but then he shows me his arm and says, "See Tys pretty" :confused3 Oh well, I guess it's fine to have a metrosexual child.

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/Victoria83/HPIM3046.jpg

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/Victoria83/HPIM3047.jpg

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/Victoria83/HPIM3048.jpg

So Brad takes him outside to walk while I get the desserts to go. We both get cheesecake and Tyson get this awesome cookie to decorate. So now I have a box of cheesecake, a to go box of pizza, and a small to go box of cookie. That would be fine to carry if I didn't have to go pick up the cake! LOL

We head over to the Boardwalk Bakery, my fave place at Disney LOL. I told the girl my name and Sandy comes over, that's who I talked to on the phone to order it and emailed pics of my dress so she could match the color to the flowers on top and the mickey heads. She told me how nice I was on the phone and that it was an absolute pleasure to do this for me! She was so sweet. I asked if she would pose with the cake so I could take a pic.

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/Victoria83/HPIM3050.jpg

I hope she doesn't mind me posting her pic.

Little did I know that this pic would be so special. It is the only pic I have of the cake actually looking good. I was already caring the other food plus now the cake in the hot bus and then changing over to the AKL bus from the MK bus. This was the cake when we got to the room.

After my initial shock at the damage I caused, I had to laugh. Poor thing slid right off the stand. :rotfl: But it was soooo good. If you have never had the butter cream from BB, try it next time! It is to die for. I wish I had got a huge cake so that we could eat on it all week. That thing was awesome. I just sent a thank you email to Sandy and sent her the pics. I thought she would find what happen funny because man we devoured that thing when we got back! I ordered the marble cake inside with butter cream filling inside. The cream is light not heavy like most butter cream. MMMMMMMM!

Then these guys made one of their only appearances that week. Notice the other little friend it the pic? That's right, Thumper!

And I took a pic of this before we moved the sheets.
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/Victoria83/HPIM3062.jpg

And before we went to bed Tyson did some more of this.

My nutrisystem food arrived yesterday. So far I have liked breakfast and lunch and I'm not hungry. I space it out so that I'm eating all day. LOL Like this morning I had the NS scrambled eggs at 8:30 then an apple and a tablespoon of peanut butter at 10:30. For lunch at 12:30 I had the NS black bean tortilla soup with a salad (lettuce is a free food) 1 cup raw cauliflower, 1 cup raw mushrooms and 2 tablespoons of fat free ranch. For my dairy serving I had a 60 cal light and fit yogurt. I didn't eat all the lettuce though. I was full. I can have an afternoon snack around 4 or 5 which is a dairy or protein and a fruit. I think I'll have a half of a banana and a string cheese. I know it will eventually be difficult but right now I think I can do this. :woohoo:

Love reading you TR and can't wait to read more!!!

We were there May 8th-16th! The next time we are debating on whether to stay at AKL or Contemp. If my brother and his family go it will probubly be AKL as my niece is all about AK and animals. She will be in her first year of college for pre-vet. Was it a long bus ride to the other parks? That's our only concern about staying there.

Brandi- make sure you are eating enough= Eating very little can have the oppisite effects.
I went to Weight Watchers and lost 6 pounds one week- I though-- give up those snacks and I can lose more-- I gained 4 pounds that week.

Hey! Glad you're enjoying it.

I really want to stay at the Contemp. We loved the CS and that we could walk to MK or take the monorail. The rooms are really nice at Contemp. I think we'll choose it next for our big trip. In Dec. we'll stay at a value. I don't care where. You're niece would love AKL.

You never have to wait very long for a bus. I've never waited longer than 10 minutes. However, we like to take the car when we have Tyson because it's hard to hold him, the bag and the stroller while standing up. If you have a car, just drive it's so much easier. If not then the buses are quick. You'll be fine. It's maybe a ten minute drive to MK and that's the longest ride to the parks. DTD is a 10 minute ride too.

Thanks! Yeah, I've been eating all my snacks. If I'm not hungry I choose a snack that's small. I have lots of choices on nutrisystem, like for my fruit if I'm really hungry I eat a whole small apple and if I'm not I have some apples sauce or maybe prunes (yes, I like prunes) :rotfl:

Hey girl! I hope you saw my message on your thread. I'm so sorry we didn't meet up but I just felt bad that day and it kept getting worse. Then I realized it was indigestion from the night before and T rex made it worse.

Thanks about the diet. I really feel I can do this!

Sorry I've been MIA. Brad signed up for the gym and they took his blood pressure. It was 180/120!!!! OMG that's high. His mom and sis have high bp and they are stick skinny so it's genetic. He's got an appt. with my internist but his mom is freaking b/c he's not going to her cardiologist. He hasn't had a physical in years so I thought he should go to an internist first.

I just want him to be ok. I don't care where he goes as long as insurance covers it. What should I do?

I know his mom is just concerned like I am. But I mean he is her son so she wants him to go to the best.

Will he be ok until his friday appt?

I hate to hear about Brad's BP, it does run in families. But, was it a qualified med tech or nurse who took his BP? Was it an automatic BP machine? Sometimes those things can be really off. He should see the internists first and then if they deem it necessary refer him to a cardiologist.
Tell him to watch for headaches and if he has nose bleeds he needs to get to the doctor or ER asap. If he feels lightheaded or dizzy or has any chest pain he needs to get to the ER. I don't want to scare you, just make you aware of some of the signs of severely high BP. Keep us updated and you have my phone number you can call if you have questions. I took care of adults before I became a neonatal nurse.

I would say internist first as a cardiologist is a specialist, and many insurances won't cover specialist without a referral. Def to quote racefan if it was an automated get it checked by hand. You can go to any rescue squad and they can check it for you for free. Being on the local rescue squad we get calls, more often then most think, where ppl have gotten the automated and take their blood pressure and it says it's shy high and they panic, when it's not high at all, low even sometimes. Def make sure he drinks lots of water and stays away from salt and caffine. Good luck!

I feel so bad for Brad. Mine gets like that while I am pregnant and now they have me taking Aldomet until we decide we are done having babies. I hate it though because you always feel fine and then you go in and bam they say 190/110. Ugh! I know the machines and even doctors get such mixed reactions. NOW>>>They always have me go in the room and relax a few minutes before taking it and that seems to help. Good luck and hang in there! Keep us posted!

Hey everyone! Thanks for all the concern, thoughts, and prayers. I called the insurance company and we didn't need referral because it's the PPO category or something.

I was extra concerned because he pulls heavy pallot jacks from the backroom of grocery stores up to the aisles to put out the coca cola cases. He lifts heavy things all day.

He ended up getting an appt yesterday with the cardiologist. He didn't get to meet her but they took his bp and it was 150/100. They prescribed him meds and he's having a echocardiogram today. He will see my internist tomorrow for a full physical. I feel he should have went to the internist first but his mom pitched a fit for him to go to her dr. Whatever, he has meds and is going to a dr. so he'll hopefully be fine. I have to leave my relationship with MIL out of it because it's not about me it's about him. I have to remind myself sometimes when I get all wound up about her. LOL

He sees the cardiologist next Thursday.

May 10 Mother's Day!

We woke up late on Sunday because of the long night we had the day before. Little did we know that this would become the pattern for the week.

Brad decided that we should have a good breakfast so he went down to Mara to see what we should get. He also had to buy our refillable mugs! I got red and Brad got black. He was gone a long time and I started to wonder what was going on. It ends up that he went to the store first and bought me the Winnie the Pooh canvas bag that says "Is that you, Tigger?" and it has a real tiger on it. I love it so much. He came back with the food and then took the bag out and said Happy Mother's Day. I was so excited. After opening my cards and saying thank you he said to look inside the bag. My eyes got huge! What could be inside?

An Ipod Nano 4th generation!!! HOT PINK!! I love it. I decided to get internet access that day so I could had some videos for Tyson. I figured it could help us when he was super cranky. I swear it took forever to download and load onto it because I picked a long Wiggles video.

We settled down then to eat our breakfast. We found another thing to love about Disney! The humongous breakfast platter! We got this every morning from then on. Sometimes we used our CS points and sometimes paid. Oh and if you use CS points you get 2 drinks per point. So we had 4 diet cokes every morning. LOL

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/Victoria83/HPIM3071.jpg

Tyson wanted cereal and my biscuit. That's what he had for breakfast each day all week. He spilled his cereal on the floor and guess what it made..

Mickey!
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/Victoria83/HPIM3070.jpg

LOL it just fell that way.

He decided to try a Mickey waffle. He didn't like it. Thank goodness because I fell in love with Mickey waffles. Another new love!!

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/Victoria83/HPIM3073.jpg

We finally left to go to AK! It was a warm day but beautiful. We get through the gate and a CM gives me a red carnation! Aww I love it! Tyson and I pose for a picture.

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/Victoria83/HPIM3074.jpg

He then asked for his sunglasses and I couldn't find them. I just had them and they were gone! Did we drop them? So Brad goes through the turnstiles and backtracks to try to find them. Well, a few seconds later, I realize I put them in the video camera bag! OOPS :rolleyes1 So I try to call him on the phone but he won't pick up. I decide to leave the park too to find him. He's no where to be found. He went back to the AK bus stop. So I got the photopass guy to take pics of me and Tyson! Of course! What else would I do? Actually try and go find Brad? Nah, he'll see us. LOL so I tell the guy that I'm waiting for my husband to come back this way. After the pics Brad walks up. The photographer says now do you want to have some pics with your husband? Yeah sure!!

We then go back into the park and head to Dinoland!! Our first ride is the little dino ride that's like Dumbo.

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/Victoria83/HPIM3076.jpg

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/Victoria83/HPIM3080.jpg
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/Victoria83/HPIM3082.jpg

Next, I got to ride Dinosaur. It was scary!! I really thought it wouldn't be but it scared me to death. I loved it though. I'll ride it again.

Then we wanted to ride Everest. Well, it was broken down. It has become tradition now for this ride to breakdown when Brad gets in line. The tradition will continue later in the trip.

By then I wanted a snack. I used a snack point at the Yak and Yeti CS. The chicken fried rice is to die for! So good.

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/Victoria83/HPIM3085.jpg

Tyson was tired and hot so we left to go back to AKL. We figured we would get to spend more time at AK later in the week.

Up next Epcot, dinner at Le Cellier and MK EMH.

What a great start to your Mother's Day!! I have actually never received a Mother's Day present from Mike. My 1st Mom's day present was the one Emily made in school this year. I know...can you believe it! Mike is the sweetest, most romantic guy, but he falls short when it comes to Mother's Day and he is reminded every year. Although, every Mother's Day I've had, we've been at Disney or just gotten back the day before so I guess I can't complain too much!

Can't wait to see what happens the rest of the day!

Thanks! It is so hard for me to keep my mouth shut all the time! LOL but especially when it has to do with....HER!

You know she had the nerve to ask if she could come to Brad's cardiologist appt. and then she wanted to go in the room with him! Brad's sweet and said sure but if my mom comes with me to a dr. appt she doesn't come in the room too. LOL I know she's his mom and of course is really worried just like me. If Tyson was sick I would want to be with him but if he was grown up I just don't think I would ask to go to the dr. visit with him. I would hope that if he needed me he would ask. I should have been there with him but I had Tyson and didn't have a baby sitter. Mom was busy. :confused3 Oh well, I'm honestly over it now. I just don't get her sometimes, even when looking from a mom's perspective.

I forgot to eat there. Too sad!

It was good! Try it next time!

The breakfast was awesome! It was so big that really you could just get a snack later to tide you over until dinner. We had early dinners all week but next time we will make ADRs for around 7 because Tyson was hardly awake for any dinner that was planned ahead.

I love that fan too. We got it last year at one of the parks. I just don't remember which one. I'm almost positive it was MK. It sucks batteries though. It's dead within 3 hours of getting to the park.

I really want a Mickey Waffle right now! Thank goodness I can't get one because I'm trying to be good on the Nutrisystem diet. I've lost 10 lbs so far!!

We are actually hit and miss when it comes to Mother's Day and Father's Day. It just depends on if we know something that the other one wants. He knew I wanted one so bad but I had no clue he was getting it. I probably hadn't mentioned it in at least 2 months. I love it though. I've never had an Ipod before. He has the special edition U2 one or something. It's red and black. I'm horrible with father's day. He usually gets a shirt. This year he is getting a steamboat willie jim shore figurine and a the vinylmation pins he needs to finish the set. That's of course if we have the money. It's not much but nutrisystem is expensive. I'm wondering how it will affect our budget.

Yeah to getting a doctor's appointment and it being covered under the insurance (like that part would have mattered anyway). Boo, to the nosy mother-in-law. I have one that couldn't give two hoots about much until she decides she wants to become involved and then I could just kick her in the you-know-what. I will keep your family in my prayers. I know that most people would say it's strange to have complete strangers keeping you in their prayers but they just don't understand the DisBoards.;)

Now, back to the trip report. My son didn't like the Mickey waffles either. He said they were too thick and hard. But, my husband and I ate them for him.

Before Disney started making the Mickey fans, we found one (sans Mickey head) at a local drug store. I think it was Walgreens back in the day when our son (just turned 12) was still in a stroller. I took along lots of extra batteries. He was the envy of many. Like I said, that was before Disney caught on to the idea and started selling them.

I hope that you'll post your food pictures over on the Disney Food Pictures thread. I know that looking at pictures of the food helps me decide where and what to eat.

:sad2: on the MIL.

Tyson looks so sweet in your pix. It is so much fun to see Disney thru their eyes. Dallas was 14 months old the first time we went and he didn't really pay that much attention to things, but by the time he was 2 1/2-3 he started noticing more. Your mother's day gift is cool.

Thanks for the prayers! We are going to see the cardiologist tomorrow. We'll see what she says.

The MIL is a pain and always will be. She called 2 nights ago at 9 pm to complain that she never sees Tyson. I felt like saying well if you weren't such a you know what I would put forth effort to get him over to see you. She's proven too many times that is is too ditzy and irresponsible to watch him alone. So we have to stay over and supervise, especially now that Tyson is opening doors. They leave their door unlocked until they go to bed so he could just walk right out. :confused3 UGH It's exhausting.

That fan really was great.

The waffles are just so good. The whole reason I liked them was because they were so thick.

I'll definitely post my food pictures after my TR was done.

Great report so far!!!

Thanks!!!

Hey girl!! Yes I remember you! We missed you. I'm so you were not able to make it in May but you'll have fun when you do get to go.

Tyson loved the dino and dumbo ride. I really didn't think he would but he surprised me. He just could not stand in long lines.

Aww thanks! He had fun at 14 months and only remember things because I showed him home movies but really that was the most magical trip. It really was. I hoped this one would live up to it or surpass it but it didn't. I enjoyed it but crowds really got me down and it was really hot. I'm looking forward to December. I think it will be better.

I love my Ipod. You can buy episodes of tv shows for $2 so I've been doing that with my faves.

I also have a Wed. night online class and I have something due every Wed. starting next week until July 15. I hate getting my masters! LOL I'm glad I'm not working though. I shouldn't complain.

Anybody like Toni Braxton? LOL I know that's random but I'm listening to one of her old cd's and I really like it. Cool little fact about her...Brad's aunt in Atlanta was one of the nurse's who helped deliver Toni Braxton's baby. Neat huh?

May 10 Part 2

When I left off, we were heading back to AKL for a rest. We rested a little while and then headed to Epcot for our ADR's at Le Cellier.

AKL bus stop
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/Victoria83/HPIM3086.jpg

We were running a little bit late so I didn't stop to get any pictures once we were at Epcot. Tyson fell asleep on the bus so we put him in the stroller and prayed he'd sleep through the meal! He's crazy when he first wakes up from his afternoon naps. LOL

We got to the check in and I begged the CM to let us bring in the stroller. He hesitated but I think he saw my desperation. I said, "This is his first nap for the whole day." I know I probably had crazy eyes like, "Don't say no or I will go psycho on your butt!" :lmao:

We waited ten minutes and they called our name. This CM looked at me funny when I started pushing the stroller towards the door. I told her Tyson was asleep and I couldn't wake him. I asked if she could accommodate us and she quickly left and moved chairs so that we could fit. It's so dark in there so I didn't take any pictures. I was so scared Tyson would wake up because of the flash too. I had the Chef's favorites. I chose the cheddar cheese soup, herb crusted prime rib, and maple creme brulee. It was all so good. I have to say it's on the top of my list. Brad loved his new york strip steak. Oh and I subbed in cream cheese mashed potatoes! OMG that's all I can say. Mmmmm

Here's my creme brulee
They gave us a card for our anniversary.
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/Victoria83/HPIM3087.jpg

Tyson started waking up when we were leaving so we headed to Electric Umbrella to get him chicken nuggets and fries. I swear we ate here at least 4 times during the trip. I like it though. It's never too crowded, at least when we were there.

After he was full, we got on the monorail to go over to MK EMH. This started Tyson's obsession of the monorail, hence my title. He is obsessed! At first we just called it a train because we thought he'd be able to comprehend that better than calling it a monorail. Well, I guess he heard us calling it the monorail and he corrected Brad when he told Tyson it was a train. Tyson said, "It not a train. Its a monorail." LOL He surprises me sometimes.

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/Victoria83/HPIM3090.jpg
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/Victoria83/HPIM3092.jpg

When we were tranferring to the MK monorail. I asked the CM if we could ride up front. He said if there wasn't anyone in it we could. There wasn't so we hopped in. He gave me a paper flower he made for Mother's Day!! Awww

He got in and it was a tight fit with that huge stroller. Tyson was super excited and decided his stroller wheel was the steering wheel of the monorail.

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/Victoria83/HPIM3093.jpg

I'm not in very many pics because Brad usually has Tyson and I don't ask for him to take my picture much. This was my attempt to be in a picture.

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/Victoria83/HPIM3094.jpg

We arrive at the park and it's not really crowded at all. Mostly everyone is leaving. We headed to the castle first to get photopass pictures. They turned out ok. I think he tool one picture. :confused3 Oh well. Then we went to the jungle cruise because it's so fun at night. That guy was hilarious. I swear I've never had a JC guide be that funny. I have the whole thing on video.

Next, we went to POC. I was so excited. It's my favorite. We walked right on. Tyson loved it. He was singing the song. It's funny. I bought the 2 CD album last year so he knows the songs to everything. We walked out and passed by the POC entrance to go over to get our strollers. I recognized the guy talking to a CM and guess who it was...TIM! LYNN's husband. So then I see Lynn walking up to him and start to walk into POC. I yell really loud LYNN like two times. I told her who I was and she hugged my neck. I asked if they are having fun and how many more days they had left. She's so nice.

We left there and started making our way to HM. We stopped to get a diet coke by the Liberty Bell. Well, Tyson fell in love with the little hill there. It's those little moments that I love so much. The unexpected happy moments that you can't plan.

We stood here for at least 15 minutes.
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/Victoria83/HPIM3095.jpg
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/Victoria83/HPIM3096.jpg
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/Victoria83/HPIM3100.jpg
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/Victoria83/HPIM3103.jpg

Tyson was unsure of HM. He didn't cry but I don't think he enjoyed it. LOL

We wanted to ride some rides for him next. We walked into fantasyland and found everyone. LOL It was more crowded then I thought it would be and lines were too long to stand in. Tyson tuckered himself out and there was no way he'd wait 20 or more mins.

We left and got in line to wait for the bus. That's when Tyson got ticked! He lost it. People were looking at us. Ughhh it was horrible. You know why he was mad? He wanted to ride the monorail. :sad2: I've created I monster. He yelled out it the cutest, yet annoying, little whine, "I don't want to ride the bus! I want to ride the monorail!" I by the way he says monorail really southern. I mean he stretches out rail really long with a deep southern drawl. It's precious. It melts my heart. He settles down when we get on the bus and almost falls asleep before we get to AKL.

Sorry not a lot of pics with this update.

Up next a freakin packed MK, the absolutely awesome Contemporary CS, and more Epcot.

May 10

Monday morning, probably around 10 am, this animal was walking around outside our window.

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/Victoria83/HPIM3105.jpg

We took the bus to MK and found Pinocchio!

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/Victoria83/HPIM3107.jpg

We took a few photopass pics on Main Street but I haven't uploaded them yet.

Then it was time for fantasyland rides! I didn't take any pictures while on the rides but here we are in line for maybe winnie the pooh.

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/Victoria83/HPIM3109.jpg
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/Victoria83/HPIM3111.jpg

We wanted to ride Dumbo or something but it was just so hot and there were so many people. It was probably around 12 pm. I was kind of mad that there were so many people and I thought that UG suggested going there that day but I may be wrong. But thank goodness we had park hoppers! We decided to get out of there and fast!

We took the monorail over to the contemporary to eat at their CS. It was soooo good. If you are trying to get out of the parks for lunch, I suggest the contemporary CS. The cupcakes were huge and delicious!

I had the fish sandwich with some awesome slaw on top of the fish. Brad had a cheeseburger. Tyson had chicken nuggets. The cupcake is a black forest cake with cherry filling! YUM!

We actually got stuck next to the snoring monk for at least 10 minutes. Tyson fell asleep on the ride.

By then we had to start heading towards Tokyo Dining. Tyson slept through the whole meal.

Brad had steak.
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/Victoria83/HPIM3126.jpg

I had the tempura sushi combo.
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/Victoria83/HPIM3127.jpg

We both had the ginger cake for dessert.

Tyson woke up so we went to the restroom near the gardens to change his diaper. You won't believe this. There was no changing table. :confused3 I'm so confused. I can't believe that!

Tyson had some fun with the leaves.

Enjoying your trip report. Love the outfits of your husband and son...I did the same thing with my son and husband. I remembered your question about Jiko...did you guys go there for dinner? If so I can't wait to hear all about it. My sons first Disney vacation was GF and he loves riding the monorail (and hoping to always be the co-pilot...which he got to do a couple of times) each day and he would asked his dad before bed can they go around before bed (he just turned 2 at his first trip). So everytime we go to a Disney vacation he expects to stay on a monorail resorts...when we don't we try to go a few monorail rides. When we stayed in AKL (which he loved b/c he sees animals when he wakes up and see them before he goes to sleep), he asked next time can we stay at his favorite hotel (a monorail). I can't wait to hear more of you trip.

I look forward to the butterfly house every year. Last year we missed F & G festival by a week or so. I was so sad that Tyson wouldn't get to see the butterflies. LOL this year he could care less.

That is so cute that he wanted to go around one more time before bed. I can see Tyson wanting to do the same thing. It will be a long time before we get to stay at a monorail resort though. If we can get a good deal we might stay at AKL or Wilderness. I'm curious about Wilderness. I love AKL though. We will probably stay at a moderate next May. In Dec. we will stay at a value. I don't care where. They are all the same to me.

Congrats on your GREAT NEWS!!! We are thinking of going that week or the 3rd week. I want my son to experience Christmas in Disney. Are you guys planning on going to the MVMCP? My son loved Pirate/Princess Party and MNSSH.
I can't to read the rest of your trip review

Ok so I am flipping back and forth between my shutterfly project and your trip report. I think I am done and know I need to get it ordered tomorrow to get it here in time for Jenny's birthday. When I totally started laughing at Tyson steering the wheel. I hadn't even read your post, yet. :rotfl2:He is too darn cute. Jenny and you have the same Minnie t-shirt, although we haven't found it since we got back from WDW. Ugh! Great job on the codes. I still have never seen one to even know what it is. I need to get to work on my Day 5. Hopefully when this photo book is finished!

Glad to see you back :thumbsup2. Love the update. The pix of Tyson are so good, I miss Disney so much. I am trying to get into the planning of my September trip, but I don't have as much to plan except dining and I am going to make my ADRs on line in the morning. Wish me luck :thumbsup2.

Thanks! I was really missing the Dis. Every time I get on though I think about what homework I could be doing. Ughh I'll be glad when this semester is over. I don't do very well in summer courses because they are so fast and jam packed. You jump right in! LOL

Who all is going on your Sept. trip. I've got to catch up with your TR. Did you get your ADRs?

Thanks! I wish that I had got the pin instead of dad. This means dad can't decide not to go last minute because of work. He has to go! That will be hard. I think they may go for 3 nights and we'll go for 5.

Oh you should go the week we are!!! December Dis Meet!!!!! :rotfl:

We won't be going to MVMCP because we are going to use that money to get PH instead.

Congrats! How great that your family will get to enjoy some great restaurants. We'll be at POP from 12/3-10...maybe we'll see you.

I know! I think my family will be surprised. They have no clue how awesome Disney is. When they took me as a kid, we would go to MK for one day while we were on vacation in Daytona. Most of the time we visited Universal instead of Disney.

DECEMBER DIS MEET!!!!!! I swear ya'll this is the beginnings of a meet! OK so far it's me, Pooh&OurHunny, and thegreggersmom! :woohoo:

hey thanks! Yes. as soon as my TR is done I'll start a PTR for Dec! YAY!

Ha Ha! Yeah he cracks me up. I mean I really wouldn't have thought to use the stroller wheel as a steering wheel.

I hope you find the shirt! I wear all my shirts around the house now. I'll get christmas shirts for the Dec. trip.

Dad's pin was mailed to him. It was a folded card offering free dining and there was a 15 (I think) digit code to give the CM. Sometimes the offers are emailed to you. Also you can call and ask a CM to check to see if a code is attached to your name. Some people are saying that CMs will not check anymore but someone did for me last week. If they say they won't check, hang up and call again. Keep doing it until you get a CM that will check.

Good luck with the photo book!! I made one for my mom last christmas!

Congrats on getting the free dining pin. Well, your dad got the free dining pin but you're reaping the benefits too.

Ha Ha! Yes, I am reaping the benefits. I told him yesterday that this means he has to come now because its in his name! I just pray he'll be able to.

Ha Ha exactly! If only homework was that fun! Can I request that my homework only be on the topic of Disney and planning vacations? :rotfl::lmao:

Thanks! I wish I took more pics but we were just having so much fun that I kept forgetting. Amber sent me our photopass pics so I'm looking for to posting all of them.

After I finish my TR, I will start my PTR for Dec. Will you all follow me over? Pretty please? :flower3:

May 12

The next morning we got up and drove over to the Poly for our ADR at Ohana. Well, the monorail had broke down for a while and all the ADRs had piled up. The waiting area in front of Ohana was packed. The lady CM said that we would get in no matter what but that it could take a while. Tyson was starving and I thought about leaving but he had so much fun here last year. We decided to stay. We waited about 30 minutes and finally were seated. It was around 11 am by then. I guess more lunch time than breakfast.

Here's a tip. Eat here early. You will hopefully get more character interaction because they are not hurrying around to the tables so people can leave. Our ADR was at 7:30 am last year. Way too early for us but Tyson had fun and we made rope drop. That will probably never happen again though. :lmao:

We will not be eating here in Dec. I'm ready to move on to a new breakfast place if any.

It's the cutest show. A bit misleading though. :lmao: They were playing music as everyone was walking in. The music was from different shows on playhouse Disney. Well, they played a Wiggles song so automatically Tyson thought we were going to see the Wiggles. We took him to their concert last Nov. When he sees these pictures he tells me the Wiggles were there. :rotfl:

We decided just to walk around since we were so late getting to the park. TSM was a 90 min wait and of course FP were gone so we kept walking. Tyson can't wait that long. I grabbed a strawberry margarita and and Tyson got a Fanta strawberry frozen drink. Mine was good and strong. I would recommend it. Tyson's was better though and much cheaper. Oh and his was not on the DP as a snack. This was by the fountain.

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/Victoria83/HPIM3198.jpg
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/Victoria83/HPIM3199.jpg

We had to change Tyson's diaper so we went over to the family bathroom. Guess what? You guessed it. No FREAKIN changing table!!! In the stupid FAMILY bathroom!!!! UGH What the Heck! So I took my angry toddler by myself in the women's bathroom then back outside to Brad so that I could go back and use it.

Whatever so we start walking down the streets. Where is the umbrella? I want to find that next time.

It was almost time for the parade so we went back by the Star Wars ride and parked ourselves by the American Idol show.

It's very high energy! The CMs are super friendly and want kids to participate. Brad and I were both very surprised by how much we liked it.

After that I got in line to ride Star Wars. It looked like it was going to rain when I got back. Brad bought Tyson the light saber keychain. It's glass and definitely not toddler proof. I let him watch it light up every once in a while.

We went over to ABC Commissary to share a burger and get tyson some nuggets. For some reason tyson started shaking the palm trees in there. Then he hugged them. :confused3 I canceled our dinner ADRs and made a late ADR for Coral Reef. I love the food there.

Have you ever thought about booking an ADR at Hollyood & Vine? Don't they have some of the Playhouse Disney characters?

I thought about it. I just really don't like buffet food. :rotfl:

i'll eat at Boma and any family style place but that's as far as I go.

Thanks for the suggestion though. I am planning on booking Ohana dinner for Dec. I think my family will love it!

We loved our Crystal Palace ressie at 8:05 and Wendy and family were there, too. The park was so awesome and quiet at that time. And the food was very good! Plus we made it to Dumbo before anyone else. Jenny had plenty of time with the characters, those were some of my fave photos from our trip. I was laughing looking at Tyson eating the ice cream and thinking of you spray and washing his shirt later on. We are too much alike! Austin wore 3 tops today, because I had to wash them after each meal. I need to go back to bibs! Can't wait to hear about your trip in Dec. I am going to live through you for awhile!

Hey everybody! I haven't fallen off the face of the Earth. :lmao: I am just swamped with school work. I have my final due tomorrow night at 11:59 pm and I have not started. I had a huge paper due yesterday. After that I will be finishing the report.

We had to cancel the reservations for Dec. We are still going but I couldn't pay both of the deposits for the two rooms. My parents couldn't pay right now. The pin is good until Oct. so we may still use it if rooms are still available. If not, we'll use the room only deals that are out at that time.

So we had so much fun! We left at 5:30 am and arrived around 11:00. We were in MK by 1 pm. I just have to say one thing though. I hate the Brazilian tour groups. They are horrible. I had to get on to some of the kids twice. If no one else is going to do it, I will. I hate being cut in front of. It was great though. It was crowded but I'm use to early May. Last minute trips are awesome.

Oh and I LOVE Pop! They are so nice there. We even got our first real towel animal. We've got the Mickey head on the bed before but not a real towel animal. It was a little dog.
