We have been looking at alot of sites with info on Grand Cayman and Cozumel on the internet with maps and so on to get an idea of what we want to do on our cruise in September. We are thinking of going it alone, no set tours...anyway can anyone who has been on the 7 day Western let me know where the ship docks? That way we can look at that area of the maps a bit closer and figure out where to head first when we do dock.
We are thinking of 7 mile beach and I want to visit HELL....LOL. My DD wants to see the ruins in Cozumel. So any info on what I am near when I get off the ship would be a great help.....Thanks

In Cozumel you dock at Punta Langosta Pier.

In Grand Cayman you are tendered in.

We booked our shore excursions via Disney since it was our first time on the Western...we did that mainly for convenience. But you could definitely do the same things yourself in Grand Cayman. We saw many vendors right at the dock with signs for the island tour and stingray snorkeling, and the area also had many shops where you could rent snorkeling equipmet. In addition, there was a shop offering the boat and semi-sub tours.
We didn't see as much in Cozumel, but we got off the ship pretty early. Things seemed to have picked up later when we headed off for the Jeep Safari Tour.
I liked having an early Disney tour booked in Grand Cayman because that allowed us to disembark early rather than wait for a tender ticket. We did the semi-sub and then just stayed ashore waiting for our island tour/stingray snorkeling.
Overall, the tendering process was pretty painless, and Disney has canopies set up so you can wait in the shade and hands out free water and fruit punch.

We are going in September on the 7 Day Western and was wondering the same thing (could we go it alone). Could you share the links you have to maps of the port areas. I would love to see what the lay out if going to be. We are trying not to spend too much money on our trip, but do want to enjoy ourselves.

Thanks!
