We can make a stop at my cabin, where I will have a box or two of wine for mass consumption.
Wavebands, Diversions, Cadillac Lounge, Promenade Lounge, Studio Sea, Signals, Cove Cafe. Did I miss any? :rolleyes1

OMgosh - hilarious.
As much fun as we had at Wavebands each night, and the fun we had at DATW - this definitely looks like a must-do at the next cruise.

I am hoping and praying we re-book next month. If nothing else, I may be looking for a roomie.
I'm beginning to think the roomie thing may be better than
1. bring the kids or not? (I have no qualms taking them out of school, it's just do I want to bring them by myself)
2. will dh actually take the vacation time or not? And will he decide within the next 18 months?!?!
3. do I really want to share a room with my mother, who also isn't sure if she's coming or not
How am I supposed to plan this, people?!?! I think DATS will start in my room before we even leave port at this rate :rotfl:

We pre-ordered Gav's and we had a card when we got to the stateroom which we took to Diversions to pick it up :thumbsup2 They filled it for the first time too which we weren't expecting ;)
They are surprisingly heavy though even without beer in! I was expecting a plastic one like you get in Epcot Germany so bear that in mind if the weight of your luggage is limited ;)
I'm a rookie, so please bare with me. It IS okay to bring your own liquor/wine on board? Also, a refillable beer mug? Is this for real (ie. a Disney approved), and if so, what is the cost?

Yes, you are allowed to bring your own liquor on board, as long as it is in your carry on, is not yet opened, and isn't on ice. Same goes for soda. I brought some Diet Dr. Pepper on along with some adult beverages.

You may bring alcohol on board. It MUST be in your carry on. Any open containers getting off the ship must be discarded, so buy small or drink big.
Yes, there is a refillable beer mug, but I don't know the details.

The refillable beer mugs works like this - you buy (pre-order or on board) the glass stein for $14.99 and then every time you get a beer if you have the mug they will fill it rather than giving you the standard size (you pay the same for each beer but get more) :thumbsup2

Probably my best purchase of the whole trip. They replaced the glass with a clean one on most occasions, which was great if they had any chilling in the fridge. I got into the habit of asking each time I had it refilled, just in case!

I was also surprised when they grabbed a clean mug and put mine into the dishwasher the first time. :thumbsup2
One night, being a regular in a certain nightclub :rolleyes1 , I had forgotten my mug in my stateroom, and the bartender gave me one making me promise to return it at the end of the night, which I did.
Even with bringing our own drinks onboard, we still had a significant bar bill at the end. :drinking1

The oddest drink that I had was called a Caipirinha. I used to work with some guys from Brazil and each year at the holiday party, they would make these drinks. It's basically lime, sugar, and some kind of sugarcane alcohol. We called it Brazilian Moonshine...oh that stuff got me every danged time too...:rolleyes1

Also, it pretty much states everywhere no coolers (except for medical reasons) but soft sided ones, aka cooler bags, etc. are ok. Just no ice.

My Polar Pop (does that mean Eskimo Father??) holds 32oz (That's 960cc in Canadian, eh!!) of French Vodka....
UNfortunately, Vanilla Grey Goose may no longer be available for PCC 2.0.

We used a 'Give Kids the World' duffle bag. (Yes, it sounds wrong to use it to transport liquor.) It's 20X12X12 and held 3 wine, 1 rum and 2 express mail boxes of FE gifts (plus t-shirts for cushioning). Think of how much more we could have brought on with that extra linear inch.

:goodvibes Why yes, yes they do. http://www.rumrunnerflasks.com/32oztravelerand8482.aspx
On a Royal Caribbean cruise, you have to sneak your alcohol. It is NOT permitted. And since there isn't much chatter on the Dis about RCCL, I had to turn to another source to learn all there is to know about RCCL before our first cruise with Royal last Oct. I was searching the threads on Cruise Critic and there are hundreds of tiresome threads about sneaking your alcohol and how various people feel about it - some teach you how and others preach that you will go to hell if you do it (think pool-hopping in Disney or bringing your old refillable coke cup back). Anyway, there are many ways to sneak it on, but the most votes went to a company called rumrunnerflasks. And yes, they make a 32 oz size. :)
scarlett873
05-31-2009, 10:22 AM
When we cruised with Princess, we had to sneak our booze on board as well. We just put it into our checked bag...plastic bottles of vodka and rum...wrapped them up in towels or something for cushioning and had no problems getting it on board. Heck...we even bought some specialty flavored rums while in port at St Maarten and walked right on board with it. They had someone there at the door in front of the elevators collecting the booze that people bought in port. We just walked right passed them and went up the stairs to our cabin. Bad Brandie...I know...:rotfl:
We still had respectable bar tabs on both the Princess cruise and the podcast cruise though...even with bringing our own on board!

Wavebands, Diversions, Cadillac Lounge, Promenade Lounge, Studio Sea, Signals, Cove Cafe. Did I miss any? :rolleyes1
I haven't read all the posts but you did miss a few.
Pinocchios, Pluto's Dog House and Palo (yes, you can go to the bar there without reservations - though appropriate dress is required). I'll also add the Outlook Bar as this wasn't open when we were there but I've heard rumors :goodvibes

Those of you on PCC 1.0 probably remember the constant flow of liquor coming from my room, so you can all stop by this time around too! In fact there were times I was stopped and asked why I didn't have a drink in my hand LOL. We will be bringing our typical round, consisting of vodka, gin, triple sec, rum, and possibly tequila all in the large bottles, the mixing with cranberry and OJ.
I also vote for having a group head to senior Frogs in Nasau. It was SO much fun and you can get a lot for a little! And don't forget about those conga lines with free shots as you go!

It appears I missed this thread by about 7 months, but I am captivated by the thought of it. If there's room for us, count me and Debra in, too. I can only imagine what we will see, hear, and do!
Will there be pre-cruise meets, perhaps a DATW at Epcot prior to the cruise?

There is always room!
A thread for a Post Cruise DATW has been started on the main Podcast forum...wonder when it will get switched over to here?
I haven't hear anything of one prior to the cruise, yet.

Since I'm the original poster, let me share what I was intending this to be.
I was hoping to recreate an event something similar to Epcot's DATW but on the Wonder. The challenge will be finding some free time in the PCC 2.0 schedule that will accomodate it. We know there will already be some tasting events and then there is the nightly Wavebands get together.
We are just going to have to see what time is available once we get an idea of the schedule later this year.
Until then you can come here and have a cyber drink. :drinking1

I have no official information, but given the size of our group, I don't think it will be possible to have quite as many meets as they did on the first one. Ultimately I think that's a good thing because if there was any downside to PCC 1.0, it's that sometimes I felt more like I was at work than on vacation. Don't get me wrong, I loved the meets, but this time around, I might pick and choose what I do a little bit more. Chance are if it involves drinking, I'll be there :rotfl::rotfl:

OBVIOUSLY we simply drift (or float) from "drink location" to "drink location" starting after 2nd seating dinner (just in case) until somebody falls/jumps overboard and has to be rescued by a Carnival ship... Wait... I've got that backwards...;)
RULE #1 (mainly applies to me) - NO CARRYING OF EXTRA INGREDIENTS ON THE DATS (See: Insulated 64oz mug of Grey Goose...PCC 1.0) It will only impede the group's progress... :rolleyes1
RULE #2 (will apply to me on PCC 2.0) NO LEAVING OF WIVES WHETHER IN NORWAY, INTERNATIONAL WATERS, OR ANYWHERE IN BETWEEN!!

Senior Frogs is a drinking establishment/pub that's really really fun. They have a DJ, you can get ANY drink you want in a half yard(like the good ole days at EPCOT) and they host events where they do a conga line and pour shots into your mouth out of a bottle as you conga by(they taste good). They have funny signs and merchandise too! The last time we went we had a ball and it was just hte 2 of us. Taking a group would be completely awesome. I highly highly recommend going. If you don't like, you're free to leave of course, but something tells me you'll wanna stay :-) Last tiem I was there I did thriller for them and they gave me all kinds of free liquor! TTW 2.0 people take note!!!

Hi Jason my pal o mug lugger pal o mine. :)
With so many events scheduled on land already, I've decided to leave the meat of this Disney sandwich alone with regard to another drinking event on the ship.
One of my thoughts was to create a D - A - T - S passbook that you would use to record your activities. But I'm going to orphan this idea for now. If anyone wants to have at it please feel freeto adopt and go.
I'm just following the mug. :woohoo:
