Oh, I reeeeeally want to go but:

1 next year is my 25th anny and while hub enjoys the parks, he is far from a Dis fan.

2 our youngest son plays high school/varsity hockey and the team next year is going to Lake Placid and Toronto.....I can't miss that.

I'm thinking that I just need second job!

Went on the first one, and deposited for the second, but we won't really know for awhile if we'll really be able to go...

Our main concern is when China's going to call for our adoption. It's really hard to plan so far in advance right now...especially not knowing when/if China will speed up the process. My heart's telling me that we'll be going to China at some point next year...maybe early 2011. So we'll just have to wait and see! :goodvibes

I briefly booked the first Podcast cruise, then cancelled. I made a request for the 2nd Podcast cruise, and would love to cruise on DCL during December - so the chances of me actually going are much greater this time! :)

My wife and I plan on joining y'all for PCC 2.0. We did not make it for the first, but really look forward to the next one. This will be our first cruise - married nearly twenty years - so we feel good about going with y'all because y'all will be able to hold our hands and make sure we don't mess it up! Also, this is a surprise trip for her. I've only told her the dates were going and that we need to get a passport - nothing else.

I'm going, come hell or high water.:rotfl: I wasn't on the first one. I haven't put a deposit down, yet, though. Go by myself? Bring the kids? DH can't get away in December, too busy at work. Then my mom mentioned something yesterday about coming with. I told DH that, and he asked "are you really serious about this cruise?" :scared1: Um, I've mentioned it daily since they announced when they were going to announce the dates...ya think I'm not serious?!?! :headache::headache::headache:

Tissa

Well the dates are perfect and horrible at the same time. Perfect since it will be my ds's 13th birthday, horrible since December is busy time at work for my mom and she can not get away. Ds the birthday boy is autistic and we have never cruised before. I'm nervous about taking him and his brother without help. So I'm a maybe.

Yes we went on the first, and yes we booked the second one while on board. As I said in another post, we're back in the Poor Irish Steerage section again. But who cares? There was so much going on during the first cruise that we hardly saw our room. It was a very comfortable place to rest and clean up, and that's all we need. And the goats didnt really smell THAT bad......:rotfl:

So now I am going to dig out my Castaway Club number and submit my quote later tonight as a single in Category 6, late seating dinner. For my one and only Disney cruise on the Magic, my friends and I were in cabin 6082. If I get that for some miraculous reason this time, I might be Dodie's next door neighbor!

I'm really hoping we do NOT miss Castaway Cay this time. If we do, I will take the blame for jinxing the ship. :rolleyes1

Yes - that was us!! Also Michele (exwdwcm) was on that tour w/her parents. (Her mother was the lady in the wheelchair), and they came on the cruise as well...We definatley did have fun, and we're rebooked for next year.
It's great to see that you booked as well - you won't regret it!

I think once everyone (disers and nondisers alike) got into that enviornment, you couldn't help but feel more into it, and feel like you were just cruising with a bunch of friends. Where ever you went there was someone you knew or could talk to. I also think my dh was surprised as to how funny and outgoing this group was - what did he think we were??? Sticks in the mud????

Yes, we are bringing the girls along this time, although I have a feeling we won't see them much as they will want to be in the kids program.

Yes I remember Michele. I am planning on going on DPC 2.0 unable to go the first time due to work related issues. I will be a first time cruiser.

Always wanted to do Disney at Christmas time, so this seems like a good excuse to make my Disney Christmas dreams come true.

We have cruised many times, but not on Disney.. Ive been wanting to do Disney for quite some time, so it seems fitting for this to be my first one..

I was booked originally for the first one but DD had to have back surgery, so I cancelled.. Cancelling was a good thing though, because my grandmom passed away right before the cruise, so I wouldnt have been able to go anyways..

Im really looking forward to this trip as I am planning on adding a few days before and visiting the parks with the Christmas decorations up..

As Lisa said, you'll know a whole bunch of people. In October of 2008 when I booked for the first podcast, I knew absolutely nobody. Then I started posting and got to know people. DP & I went to a meet at Doorway to Dreams in Chicago and met Jason and Shanan (and some other DISers, too). By the time May 8th (the day I arrived in Orlando) I knew a whole bunch of people. And by the time May 16th (the day I left  ) I knew even more. We are from every walk of life and from differing segments of society, put everyone is warm and friendly. Like Paul was saying before dinner at the Poly on Saturday before the cruise: "The boards are great. Without them, the chances of us ever meeting are non-existent."

So in short, book it. You'll have fun. And you have 18 months to get to know people. You won't be sorry.:goodvibes

It's a game called Wonder Quest and was played in Wave Bands on Monday night. Basically you need to take random stuff up (sock with a hole, $20, person with brown eyes, etc.) to the MC and she calls your team's number. Your team wins a prize at the end of the game if your number is called 1st the most times.

Shanan - I just want to be able to entertain you in style, that's all! My Cat 4 is all for your coffee enjoyment! ;) And maybe an afternoon tea?

I go to the one @ Disneyland whenever I get a chance, and usually sit there w/tears literally streaming down my face. I'd be a blubbering mess if I were to actually take part.

Hey, Be fair... it's tramatic to go from feeling still like a kid in your 20's to actually feeling like an adult in your 30's. I'm sure you felt the same way if you remember back all those years ago ( ;-) )

The thing that i mind most amusing was the recent episode of HIMYM, featuring the Murtaugh list... and how true that is...

Like eating a whole large pizza by yourself. In college... easy. Now... dear lord would it hurt.

I used to go to vegas and be up for 3-4 days in a row... or be out driving around and end up 3 states away... Now if I am up 24 hours in a row, I feel terrible.

Hangovers are much worse... Sleeping on Sofa beds... I'm at the point if I can't sleep in a bed visiting a friend, I'd rather stay at a hotel. Just easier and so worth the money.

Now that I have a child though, I really feel more like an Adult...:scared1:

Darn Peter Pan complex...

Yeah, I know the feeling... My Wife is turning 29 this year... Of course the age thing never bothered here like it does me.

The worse is hanging around my 21 yo little brother. I hear all his stories and there is a small part of me who would love to be able to go back... of course I'd like to go back with my wisdom from my current age, to avoid some of the stupid things I did back then.

We are 99.9% in (can't secure my 2010 vacation picks at work until Dec 2009), but I think we'll be okay--everyone else wants the week between Christmas and New Year's off. In any case, I am booking it.

Oh yeah, I am the mom, Brandia & the dad is Jamie (both 30 something), Lorelei will be turning 7 the day after the cruise ends & Katia will be 3 1/2.

We are WDW veterans, but neither of us has been on a cruise before. We've been impatiently waiting for our youngest to be old enough for the kids club and when the dates for this podcast cruise were announced, we were more than happy (and willing to take the eldest out of school). It'll be cold here in Wisconsin by December--a cruise will be a welcome break.

When I turned 30 many, many years ago, I was visiting my grandparents at a retirement community. Suddenly, I didn't feel so old.

I got carded twice in WDW this month. LOL it was real refreshing. I shook the hands of both servers and thanked them for taking 10 years off me. That's going to come in handy in another ten years' time :thumbsup2
It didn't happen at all last year. I usually find it's the younger cast members that ask.

For those of us of a certain age, getting carded means trying to get a discount with our AARP card.:rotfl2:

Mom and I just returned from our week on the Magic. It was a great cruise, but we really missed seeing all of our new PodCast Friends!

We booked the same stateroom (7631) for chapter two. Can't Wait!!!

Glad to see we'll be almost neighbors again.

Ha ha I love HIMYM!!! Its my FAVE!! Yeah I am not scared about turning 30 at all, it was just a little inside joke between Jason and I. When he turned 30 it was a mope fest. I don't want him to ever turn 40 or 50 or 60 for that matter! :rotfl2: :scared1:

How old is your child? What burb of Chicago are you in? Sorry if you have said this already and I just wasn't paying attention, I guess thats part of being young :rotfl:

We are WDW veterans, but neither of us has been on a cruise before. We've been impatiently waiting for our youngest to be old enough for the kids club and when the dates for this podcast cruise were announced, we were more than happy (and willing to take the eldest out of school). It'll be cold here in Wisconsin by December--a cruise will be a welcome break.

Woo-hoo! Another Wisconsinite! What part of the state do you live in? Perhaps we can have a mini pre-cruise meet with those in the Chicagoland area...

Thoughts?

I'm just like your husband... I moped BIG TIME at 30. 31 was a blur because of my daughter being born... we came home from the hospital that day.

My wife will be 29 this year, but handles birthdays with much better grace than I do. :-)

We live in Aurora, right ont he borders of Naperville, Montgomery and Oswego. If you know the area, we live down the street from Waubonsie Valley High School.

My daughter, Faith, just turned 4 months a few days ago. She will be doing her first WDW trip in October and will be a month shy of 2 on the Podcast cruise.

Which burb do you live in? How old is your child?

I'm the moper! I'm sure Shanan will reply later tonight, but I just wanted to chime in.
We live in Arlington Heights, not too far from you guys. It's really nice having so many cool DIS'ers in the Chicagoland area, I think we just might have the other areas beat ;)

We didn't get to do PCC 1.0 but we are in for 2010!

Me, DH & DD 9

We did the Mousefest Cruise in 2005 this same week and it was a great week to be away. It was the coming home to nothing done for Christmas that was hard! :)

I can not wait to make some new friends to cruise with!

Let's just say, I married well. :thumbsup2

My FIL was on the waiting list for 4 tickets for 34 years. When Lambeau was renovated a few years ago, his name came up! He could only use two tickets, so he contacted his favorite son-in-law (ok, so I'm the only SIL), and asked me if I would want two of the four tickets. The only catch - I had to pay the franchise fee for the two tickets. Needless to say, he didn't have to ask a second time.

Now (and I can't believe that I'm actually writing this...), I do have to admit that I enjoy the Chicago games and the Bears fans. It didn't used to be that way, but over the last few years, I really have enjoyed the Bears fans.

Viking fans, on the other hand...

Why would ANYONE want to sit outside with foam cheese on their head in the frigid cold... especially when their team will get destroyed by the greatest football team known to man... DA BEARS! DA..... BEARS!

Seriously though... that's cool. I wanted to buy a PSL for Soldier field but didn't have the money at the time (and really still don't)... maybe some day... I'd love it to be my 40th birthday present to myself... so that gives me 9 years.

I'd love for the Bears and Packers game to be on during the first day of the cruise... before any of the hoopla of the sendoff celebration.

All I know is the first time I have been excited about the Bears since the Superbowl year. Hoping Hester returns to form on returns and Cutler helps him become a good WR.

Well yeah... I mean outside of Adrian Petersen... What's worth watching on the Vikings? Its nearly as bad as Detroit.

Plus Bears and Packers is THE best rivalry in sports. Period.

Oh my GOSH!!! I would love for that to happen!! Jason and I usally go to at least one game a season, sometimes two!

I really hope Hester and Cutler are like . LOL!

You will have soooo much fun in Disney with your daughter! I know now that the younger they are the better! We took our 2 year old to WDW earlier this month and he just wanted to go on its a small world over and over and over and over. And if we didn't get right back on the ride and did something else he stomped his feet and cried. (its kinda cute though because I did the same thing when my grandparents took me at 2 1/2.) It was much easier going to Disney when he was 18 months He was also more scared of things now too, he didn't like Pooh?!?! :sad2: I think we will proabably wait until he is at least 6 to go back? :scared1: But I don't know if I can wait that long! At least we have the podcast cruises to look forward to in the meantime!

Have you gone to any of the Chicagoland DIS meets?

No I have not gone to any of the Dis Meets. Didn't even know there were any...

I think there imaginations start to really go into overdrive around two, but they can't always distinguish what's imaginary and what's real... I remember reading that in some book.... So they tend to be more afraid. That's funny about Small world... That song can drive you batty.

I said the same thing... won't go until she is 4-5... but I can't keep away that long. Disney represents too many things to me, plus I still have one or two good friends down in Orlando... I love revisiting my old College Program stomping grounds... and even if my day is bad, knowing I have an upcoming trip really helps me get by... one of the reasons we bought into DVC.

So it was either leave her with grandma (which my wife won't do) or take her with. It should be fun... I'm looking forward to it.
