I am rebooked on the cruise as well. I am hoping for tons of holiday stuff to see and do. I had a blast on the first one and the time in the parks after was fun as well. Perfect...we'll have two girls along, a 3 1/2 yr old and a nearly 7 year old (her birthday is Dec 17th). Although leaving them at home sounds tempting, our eldest is super-excited about this cruise. We had booked the Grand Floridian Pirate Cruise for her last December and at first she thought she was going on a Disney Cruise. (We watch far too much Disney on the Travel Channel).

Maybe a mini pre-cruise meet for the kiddies is in order too (like a day at Bay Beach or the NEW Zoo).

I wanted to be safe, not sorry, about having friends or family go with us. If we end up giving up the other cabin- at least we will have the whole DIS family along!!!!!

I have wanted to go on a Disney cruise at holiday time for years, but didn't have a roommate. That's why past MouseFest cruises were booked and subsequently cancelled. My only Disney cruise was with my 82-year-old mom in 2008, and I'm sorry to say that it wasn't a particularly fun cruise. The Podcast cruise definitely looks like a fun group of people!

Just stopping in to say Hi! My Dh and I are going, too! Mostly a lurker, have done 2 previous cruises with wonderful people we met here on the Dis and am a recent newcomer to the podcast and am loving it! DH does not listen/post just gets all his info from the boards from me! This will fit in nicely with our first trip to the parks during the Christmas season, looking forward to seeing the parks all dressed up! This will also be our chance for a warm water dive as we do not like diving the great lakes! Hopefully we will meet someone else here wanting to dive, also. We are a small section (7 of us this year), so we sit down at training one day in Nov, senior person goes first for their first 2 week pick then around the table by seniority. We bid for one calendar year! Everyone can take up to 5 weeks, and so far we haven't had any issues getting what we want as we usually go off season since it is the 2 of us! The Podcast cruise should be easy (altho it will be our 2nd pick) as I do not think anyone vacations then, getting spring break to go with family will be the hard one! But I go in prepared with bribes;)and willing to barter days off etc on that day! What ever it takes to get my Disney vacation!

Best piece of advice I have (the first podcast cruise was my first cruise) is to not hesitate to ask any question you have. Chances are if you have it, someone else does to. Oh and post. It helps you get to know folks.

We're booked and my daughter is already planning! (She 7).

We do have one decision to make. To bring the 19 month old (at time of sailing) or not.

We are first time DCL cruisers, I have cruised on RCL before, but not with the family.

It'll be my, my wife, 8 Year Old daughter, 6 year old son, and maybe the baby.

I just returned from a 2nd DCL cruise. DH and I did 1.0 and then had a big family cruise last week. We took our 6yo DD, 3yoDS, and 9mo DS. If you have any questions, just let me know. One suggestion, get a 2nd room. It worked out great!

DH and I will be taking a DCL 10 year anniversary cruise in Sept to get our feet wet and hopefully have things run smootly when we take the kids next year.

I have finally convinced DF to book for next year's cruise! This will be both of our first cruises. I am a little afraid of getting seasick :sick: The only time I have been on a boat before I took Dramamine beforehand and slept the whole time! (Note to self: look for non-drowsy formula next time...) I am hoping that all the activities that are planned will keep me from thinking about it too much. I can't wait!

That was my fear on my first cruise. I get very sick on small boats. We took a catamaran to St. John once and it was very unpleasant. I brought everything imaginable with me on my first cruise. Ginger, dramamine, sea sick bands, the patch. I was a little lightheaded the first night so I took 1 dramamine. After that I couldn't even tell the ship was moving.

Unless the ship is sold out, I can't imagine why Dreams wouldn't be able to reserve a room. But don't expect to get the same great group pricing that they currently offer. :surfweb:

Hello everyone. You can add Snork and Mrs.Snork to the list. We paid the deposit yesterday and she allready has the trip all planned out. I was informed that I have to take snorkeling classes now.

We did not go on the last cruise due to me working retail and PCC1.0 was during a very busy time of year. This will be both of ours first cruise and my first experience near/in the ocean.

Me either. I went up to my knees in the ocean on Castaway Cay and maybe floated with friends in the adult pool afterward.

Thought I posted, but I guess not. DH and I are going, our first podcast cruise but 5th with DCL.

It was really funny, when we were cruising in July 2009, and went to the rebooking desk to book. We couldn't remember the Podcast cruise dates, so I had said, well, we'll just book whatever dates are open for December, and we can change it when we transfer the reservation to Dreams. So we get to the desk, and the Disney rebooking agent asks how she can help. DH said, "We want to go on the DisBoards.com Podcast Cruise in December 2010 but can't remember the dates." I gave the agent an apologetic smile, looked at DH, and said, "She won't know what that is!" The agent said, "Actually, I was the agent on the first podcast cruise, and helped Tracy handle all the rebookings, I know those dates in my sleep!" We all three just laughed and laughed.

I could hear It's a Small World playing in my head during all of this!! It really is amazing how it all comes together sometimes!

Count me in again. Just got this booked no room number since we are in a CAT 6 GTY. At least we will have a balcony just hope it has a clear railing not the solid. There will be three adults in our party this time.
