Now that I finally have my date secured I can start one of these!
Now a little about us. Jon and I met at work. My dad was the boss at the place we both worked and after our first date he sat Jon down and told him he could either keep his job and stop dating me, or date me and quite. He turned in his 2 week notice the next day. Incase you were wondering my dads motive I have conducted the following equasion that sums up everything. Only child (me)+ 1st real serious boyfriend (Jon)= freaked out, over protective, insane parents.
Skip ahead to 3 years later...
The place: Walt Disney World
The time: May 21st 2008
I knew that he was going to ask me because I saw the outline of a big square box in his pants. :rotfl:
We started the night off at Bistro de Paris. The food was AMAZING the waiter was super snobby. But we didn't let his crappy attitude ruin our night.
Plus a couple of glasses of wine had both chilled us out alot.:goodvibes: From Epcot Jon led me to the Magic Kingdom. I thought ohhhh he' going to do it in front of the castle!! But no, we hopped on a boat and went over to Fort Wilderness. When we arrived I discovered that there was a private carriage ride waiting for us! The lady first introduced us to the horse, his name was Prince Charming. Then we got in and she took us for a really nice and romantic ride all through the forrested area. Then all of a sudden she pulled up to a beach area where there was a giant clearing where we could see the castle perfectly across the lake. Then all of a sudden the fireworks started going off!!!! As we were watching them from inside the carriage a guy came around and handed me a pillow bouquet of white flowers with a glass slipper and tiara on top of it and said "My Lord, We have found the ladies slipper." It was the coolest thing ever! Then Jon led me off the carriage and got down on one knee with the fireworks going off in the background and asked me. It was the best night ever!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v664/aduck126/24172-R1-00-24A_001.jpgThis is us waiting for the boat ride. I guess Jon had told all the cast members running the docks about what was going to happen so by the time we got back they all like charged us asking "did she say yes?!" It was really sweet.

Seeing as we both love Disney, a Disney wedding seemed like the obvious choice. We are planning an escape wedding for January 13th 2010.
I just ordered these invites yesterday:
http://www.invitationconsultants.com/invitation.aspx?p_invitationitem=KP200DE
I thought 156.00 was a pretty good price. I searched all over Illinois with my mom the past couple of days and have found NOTHING Disney wedding related as far as invites go. We did make a stop at Gurnee Mills and I went into the disney outlet store, which was awesome. I got 2 beach towels and 2 disney shirts for my bridesmaids. I'm planning on giving them personalized tote bags full of vacation stuff :beach: and some jewelery.
I'm also almost done making T shirts for the bachlorette party
I'm making them for the moms and the bridesmaids. They each have their own disney princess on the front and their role for the wedding. Then the backs have quotes from my favorite disney songs.
Maid of honor: Tinkerbell on front "Like a bolt (actual lightening bolt drawn on) out of the blue. Fate steps in a sees you though" on back
Bridesmaid: Snow White on front "I want to walk like you (cheep) talk like you (cheep) too-oo-oo" on back
MIL: Ariel on front "We got no troubles Life is the bubbles, Under the sea" on back
Mine: Cinderella on front: BRIDE written on back because I did mine way before everyone elses so there is no room on mine for a song, its okay though
Moms: Belle on front: I have not done her back yet but I think it will say "If your stressed its fine dining I suggest. Be our guest"
I wanted to make shirts as a way to bring the in laws and my family together. I thinking people will be more likely to mingle and have fun if they have matching shirts on!
As for favors/center pieces I really want to order wanderfuls. They are cheap and really cute! I dont know all the logistics about who sets them up or if I can even bring them in so I'm waiting on ordering them for now.
http://www.wanderfuls.com/ here is their web site. I'm planning on ordering them empty and then filling them with the Disney wedding M&Ms.
I'm hoping to get Ohana and a dessert party at the French Island Arm booked. But I guess it is a 90 days before booking for both of those. I'm really stressing about that! :scared1:
More to come....

Great start! What a romantic proposal!!!! You should post pics of the totes and shirts they sound great! I love the wanderfuls too- I have never heard of them before but they are super cute! We are also planning on Ohana's so I'm excited to hear how your experience goes. Are you going to set it up with group dining? Are you going to try to talk with someone at the restaurant in advance? I've seen lots of people have welcome dinners there but never an actual after wedding dinner. Congratulations can't wait to follow along!

I was planning on waiting for the 90 day point. I was going to have my aunt book it for me because she is a FL resident and a passholder so I thought they would give her some special treatment but no luck there. As soon as she mentioned wedding they flipped out and sent her right back to the wedding 90 day standard. I guess she talked to the restaurant directly too and they told her to just go through the normal dining people as well. So I'm kind of stuck. I guess they told her though that on a week day in January they can almost guarantee they will have room for us. I was freaking out because my planner made it seem like it is going to be really hard trying to book a table for 25. She said that we might have to be spread at seperate tables throughout the restaurant. So thats why I was so worried, but I guess Ohana told my aunt that it should be fine.

I forgot to mention that one of the best parts was wearing the tiara throughout the parks the rest of the week. All the cast member bow to you as you walk by and say something like "your majesty" or "hello princess" ....It was so awesome!!!

I also DO NOT recommend getting those sparkly iron on lettering patches. Only half of the "bridesmaid" sparkles actually ironed on like they were supposed to. I then spent an hour meticulously trying to glue on these tiny little pieces.

Things are kind of stagnant right now. I started my diet yesterday. I do weight watchers. When I was in high school, about 5 years ago, I lost 60lbs by doing weight watchers. In those 4 years I have gained about 30 of it back:headache: but I'm planning on losing 20. Because at my skinniest I was a size 3 and was like microscopic. I want to retain some curves! I was thinking about doing updates on here about my weight loss just to keep me motivated. So here we go I'm divulging my real weight :scared1: Yesterday I was 169lbs. Today I am 166lbs! I seem to always drop the first 10 super fast. Then I hover around 155, it is really hard to get past that. But I'm determined!
I have been emailing Veronica from Beaute Speciale about hair and make up for the wedding. Just my mom and I are doing it. It will be a nice pre wedding bonding time for us.
My invitations come in tomorrow, I'm so excited!!!
I'm having some MAJOR bridesmaid drama. I asked about it on the normal wedding dis boards. There is a fight going on between who should be my maid of honor. I originally asked my cousin before finding out that my BF could go. Now she is pissed that she is not MOH. drama drama drama. Because she is married I made her Matron of Honor and my cousin is still Maid of Honor. My cousin was pretty upset but she can just deal with it. The thing is that i'm not even close to my cousin and she is not planning on doing a speech or any other of the MOH type things. And my BF is planning everyhting with me and going with me to buy stuff and really wants to be involved. So I don't know what else to do :confused3
I'm also STILL waiting on my wanderfuls catalogue. I emailed them again and requested a new one a couple days ago...hopefully it comes soon!

I just found your PJ - what a sweet proposal! Even though you knew it was going to happen it sounds like you were still pretty surprised which is great. DF got me the same flower pillow package - its still my favorite.
A groom on this board told me about wanderfuls and I loved them! But then another bride told me I can't use them for our DP at epcot because everything has to go through the florist. So just a friendly heads up if you were planning to use them for the french arm I would check with your planner first.
As for all of your maid and matron of honor stuff - that sucks and I am so sorry that its causing so much stress. I don't see why they have a problem with one being a maid and one being a matron? What difference does it really make. Anyhoo I wish I had some words of wisdom or some advice for you but I really can't think of anything helpful to say other than to keep your chin up. Hopefully it will just work itself out in time. I would like to give you some pixy dust - but I can't seem to find that little icon.
Anyhoo I can't wait to hear all of the details!

thanks bride-to-be! I'll definitely check on the wanderful situation. I'm not opposed to bringing them into Ohana for the dinner either. I know the contract says that you can bring your on decor you just have to let disney know and they will give you a time when you can bring it over and set it up. We shall see

And I took advantage of great memorial day sales at bath and body works. I got each bridesmaid a pair of flip-flops, a travel lotion, and a travel hand sanitizer for only 20.00 total! I was pretty proud of myself.

my hands are behind my back because it is a corset back and I cant tie it myself so I'm just holding it closed :rotfl:
the corset is the same color as the sash in the front it kind of just goes around and then ties down the whole back. by the way, 200.00 Davids bridal! I must have tried on like 20 dresses and this one was by far my favorite. It also has a train in the back, and pearl/sparkly beading throughout. I love sparkles :goodvibes
Here is the veil. It has like stitch pattern beading all along the edges and then little beaded flowers spaced apart along the edges as well. It is fingertip length

I hear they usually seat large parties at one of the 2 long tables right in front of the grill but I think you have to have either the first or the last seating which I believe is 5:00 or 9:30. I'm glad you're weddings before mine so I can follow along and learn from how things go for you;) Keep me updated!
P.S. Love the shoes! I have a friend who is 5'4" with size 10 feet so from watching her I know it can be a challenge to find cute shoes that look good on your feet!

Today we are mailing out our contract and paying off almost the whole wedding right away.
We also got our little Disney welcome package in the mail! You know, the one with the maps and park info and this time HONEYMOON STUFF! I registered online for it immediately. Well I should say that I started the account but I dont really know what to register for. I would rather just have cash than a bunch of money on a disney gift card.

thanks! the company is kind of out of it. You cant order online or anything like that and you have to call and speak to someone to get a catalogue in the mail. I have called and requested a catalogue 3 times and still have not gotten anything! I'm really hoping I can still work something out with them though.

I don't know what it is about weddings, but they seem to bring out the worst in some people.
So I have a distant relative, she would be my grandpa's sister. Who called up my mom last night and yelled at her for not being invited to the wedding. Even after my mom explained that there is only going to be 25 people there and we are having a bigger reception in the summer she was still freaking out about it. I dont even talk to this person but my mom talks o her probably once every couple months. As if that isnt enough, she has that side of my family now calling me and asking "why isn't so and so invited?" I dont get why people cant understand that a small wedding means A SMALL WEDDING. So now my mom is like trying to get me to uninvite spouses of immediate family, which is so rude. I'm not doing, I dont care who I piss off, its MY wedding, deal with it.
It is not just my side my DF side is starting too! His brother is just a rude and selfish person all around. We explained to him that no kids are going to be invited to the ceremony months ago. So he calls up DF and tells him how excited her is that his kid is going to be a ring bearer! So he just assumes that we want his kid there as our ring bearer, even though (if we were even having a ring bearer) we would pick a different kid. Then he goes on to talk about how the ceremony is going to be all about his kid!! He is also a groomsman and decides to tell DF that he is not going to rent a tux so he can save money!!!!!!!! :scared1:
How ignorant can you be?!?! These people definitely dont need money either. I just dont get it. DF is going to talk to him and tell him 1. your kid is not going to be ring bearer, or even invited to teh ceremony. 2. your renting a tux or your not in the wedding party.
I dont understand how people can be so selfish. I wish there was Disney magic to solve all these problems :wizard:

Today I got my first email from m wedding consultant, Kathleen. I also got the package emailed to me where I get to check off which cake and flowers I want and send it back in. I think Im going with the classic romance cake with pink roses, the french bouquet as is, and 3 flowered rose wands with pink roses for my bridesmaids. Sorry girls 125.00 per bouquet is a little too pricey.

Ugh I can't even believe how rude some people are! I was feeling a bit guilty about having such a small Disney wedding and an at-home reception but then I went to a wedding this weekend. The reception was about 200 people but hardly anyone came to the ceremony... and not cause they weren't invited. Of the ~20 people I knew there were only 3 at the wedding (DF and I counted as 2/3):scared1: The other girl said the rest didn't think the bride would notice... but what was the first thing the bride said when we came through the greeting line... "where's everyone else?" She looked sooo hurt- I was speechless... what was I supposed to say "they didn't think you would notice... but don't worry they'll be there for the overpriced dinner and open bar:confused:". Basically you can't please anyone- you don't invite them and they invite themselves, you invite them and they don't show up:mad:
:banana:YAY for getting your consultant! How exciting to get the ball rolling!

I second with Adelia! I went to a wedding. About 1/4 if that went to the ceremony but showed up at the reception. How rude. I want a small wedding and the 25 limit of an escape is the perfect excuse. Don't let anyone get you down. Put on the :cool2: and do what you and DF wants. If people don't understand than you:cool2: probably don't want them there in the first place.
Congrats on the engagement and the wedding. Love the E story and the dress!!

OMG! that story is horrible. I would tell everyone that wasn't at the wedding to leave the reception! I know a girl who is having like 400 people at her wedding just because she wants alot of gifts. She is seriously inviting people she has met like once. She is so selfish and she is making her father pay for it and it is costing him like 40K to feed all these people he doesnt know and after the wedding her and her new husband are moving into his basement because they dont have enough money to even pay rent!!!! He works at a grocery store and she is a youth councler making like 8.00 an hour. It is so ridiculous, people are SOOOOOO stupid!

So since I'm having an escape wedding I'm not really having a formal reception per-say. I am having a casual dinner at Ohana and a dessert party..I hope. So I dont know if people will even really have time to sign a guest book. I was going to order one of these, http://www.tybinc.com/pid-452/guestbook_platter.html but I dont know if anyone will even write on it.
In other news people that I invited out of courtesy because they told everyone that there was no way in hell they would go to the wedding... decided that not only they are going, but they are also bringing their 2 kids. So now I'm at my max for the ceremony, I have to tell my bridesmaid that her husband cant go to it now. As for the reception part I am now at 29 because I am not including kids in the ceremony part. My old planner told me that escape brides cant have more at their receptions than they had at the wedding. But that doesnt make sense to me. I am paying for it and it is seperate from the wedding people so there is no reason for it. I'm going to book them for 29 anyway.

So I have made a decision on the first dance song to be played by violin only. I'm going with "Dream a Little of Me", the Mama Cass version. I dont know how flexible they are about choosing a song that is not Disney, Unforgettable, or What a Wonderful World. It is kind of ridiculous to me that they limit your choices to those only. I have to shoot my planner an email and let her know that we want this song.

I love that song! I think they can play any song you want :charac2:but you have to supply them with the sheet music... I'm not 100% sure about this so let me know what you find out! The wedding website looks great- how hard was that to set up? I need to do something like that but am not always the most technically inclined person:badpc:. I'm also so sorry to hear about your housing issues... I agree that it's totally unfair that some people get things handed to them on a silver planner while others have to work their tail off just to get by- but I think you're definately better off to get out of there than to have to put up with his crazy drug parties:crazy: What did you end up deciding to do on the rent vs buy debate? The website was super easy! I just went to mywedding.com and filled out the info for it. It took me like 2 seconds.
We have decided to buy a house. We are waiting to hear back from our lender to see what kind of loan we are going to get. It is kind of hard for us to get a loan because I am a full time college student who waitresses weekends, because I work off of tips everything i make is estimated by a computer based on my sales. So on a night that I make 50.00 if I had low sales and good tips the computer might only claim 20.00 of it. So my taxes show my income as like 10K when really I make alot more. My DF bartended all last year as well. He just graduated and is in the process of training for a much better salary job but his income I think was at like 18K. So we are hoping that we get a loan but they are being so picky about lending now that it has been hard to find a bank that will work with us. But as of right now we are currently looking at houses and waiting to hear back from our bank.

Just read through your PJ. Your dress is gorgeous! I'm sorry you are having all the family drama! I would want to elope also! I think it happens to everyone, but you seem to be getting a lot of it unfortunately. I hope things get better for you! This is supposed to be a fun time in your life and it stinks that people are ruining that for you. :sad2:
Can't wait to read more, and hopefully it's all good stuff from now on!!!
THanks! yah my family is being super annoying. It is seriously some new dilemma everyday. The latest is that I guess I put that there is limited seating at the ceremony only so now there are distant cousins and people that we dont even talk to that are planning on flying down and just showing up for the reception dinner and dessert party. that is not going to fly.

He is actually a she :) She is a Chinese Shar-pei
THANKS! She is also a special needs doggie. She is the victim of irresponsible breeding practices by a-hole people that dont know what they are doing. She is a year old and has the hip dysplasia of a 14 year old dog, her one leg also grew crooked so she walks with a limp. But she is like happiest most playful dog ever.

So on top of buying a house and paying for a wedding I wrecked my car yesterday:eek:
I'm hoping it is not declared to be totaled by my insurance company because on top of everything else buying a car would be too much. I'm freaking out. Plus it was the other guys fault but of course he lied to the police so I became at fault. On top of everything else I have KILLER cramps. I wish I could fast forward to 7 months from now when all this will just be over. :headache:

I guess over at theknot.com discussion boards people spend their time bashing Disney weddings. I find this to be hilarious. Ever single person I have told about my wedding has been like mesmerized when I told them I was getting married at Disney World. I really do believe that these women are just jealous because deep down I'm pretty sure that almost every person would love to get married at Disney World. I mean, whats not to like?!?!?! Their only argument is that it is childish, but if they spent 2 seconds looking into things they could see that you could do a completely non disney type wedding there as well. Whatever, I think that THEY are the ones that need to GROW UP.

I love her, she is so sweet.
So for flowers my bouquet is going to be hot pink and light pink. Jon will have a light pink rose the groomsmen and my dad are getting hot pink. The bridesmaids will have 3 rosed wands with hot pink roses and then bright blue and pink ribbon. the moms are getting 2 rosed corsages one light pink and one hot pink. She is sending me pics of all this shortly so I'll post those right away.
I also love that instead of asking me if I want glitter on the flowers she asked me if I want "pixie dust"
Yesterday I booked my dessert party at UK lower, so we also talked about decorating that.We decided that the dessert party is going to have pink glowing tubes with black mickey heads in them! I'm pretty excited about that.
I'll post the pics once I get them...so excited!!!! I love Disney!!! :smickey:

I had my planner book it for me so i did not talk to them. I guess the disney wedding dept. is really slowing down so they are encouraging their Escape planners to do more stuff for their clients. I had my dress fitting the other day. Everything fits I just had the bustle put in. I went with the three layered look. I almost got sick/fainted during the process! It was because I was standing up with my knees locked and trying to suck it in as much as I could for like 45 minutes! I guess I should just get some spanks to do that for me LOL!

I just found your PJ and had to subscribe. =)
I think I may have tried on the dress you got (or one similar to it) because of the pretty lace. But, it looks a hell of a lot better on you. ;)
Families can suck. A lot. My mom's side of the family is really excited about the prospect of me and Dbf getting married at Disney because they can stuff in a vacation, too. We're not even telling dad's side. No wedding crashers for me. I know I'll have several hurt family and some friends when they find out later, but my guest list is 30 max (we've only got 26 on the list now). And I refuse to raise it for anyone.
I'm really glad to hear that after the scare, everything is working out for you in the house/wedding area. It's strange how sometimes things seem to work themselves out.
Have fun planning!

Families suck, they put so much unecessary pressure on you. Just stay firm on your 30, thats what i did!

My mom picked out my veil/headpiece at an antique store with my dad while I was in another booth. When she showed it to me, I knew it was perfect, and she promptly bought it. =]
I would almost have to a call the wedding if something happened to it.
Hair combs can be quite stunning when the hair-dresser is good. If you can find one you like that will go with the dress, the hair style thread is proof the stylist can work magic. :thumbsup2

I officially yesterday booked my hair appointment at Ivy Trellis. I hope they are good there. Everyone is like freaking out about me cutting my hair so short except me. When I told the lady that it is the day after my wedding she replied in a very monotone un-disney type way "yah, we hear that alot." Excuse me crabby lady, I'm excited about it, sorry to bother you. I hope they are good there, from the pictures I have seen online they all seem to be really old and I dont want my hair to look like a grandma. we'll see how it goes

I AM GETTING SO EXCITED! I am going to order from Rosie hot pink and light pink rose petals to toss as we exit because I just love everyones pictures of this. I think I am going to do the basket option instead of the cones. 2.50 vs. 6.00???? I'll go the cheap route!

I decided to not go with the wanderfuls. Since we are not really having a formal reception there was really no need to order them. I really dont think with all the food at Ohana there would even be room for them on the table. Plus all the wine too. Which I am torn on. I was originally going to do 5 bottles white and 5 bottles red. But DF says that you should always order more white than red because people generally drink white wine. I myself am a red wine drinker so I'm biased. I dont know what to do. I might do 6 white and 4 red. I actually might drink white too just incase I spill. I dont know how I should split it.

I have the same headpiece! It is very sparkly so I don't think you'll be disappointed. Be sure to keep everything pushed in like in the photo, otherwise the side accent can look pretty large.
I love the rose petal tosses too and it will be fine in the basket, as much as I like the cones they'll really just get thrown out so no need to spend so much on them.
The favors are really cute. I'm sure they'll do a fine job at Ivy Trellis. It's a shame that lady was crabby!

Your favors will be awesome! And I'm totally with you, I want to get my hair cut right after the wedding. That cut is so cute. I agree, I think they'll be great at the Ivy Trellis. I wouldn't worry about grandma hair - I'm sure they'll be fine.

I have the same head piece to. When you first get it it seems a bit bigger then in the picture but I am sure once we get our hair done it will look great. I got my hair cut off at the Ivy Trellis salon when I was down there last year for my birthday. The lady I had was very nice and did a good job but the salon its self is no different then going some where at home. Its nothing special but its in the Grand Floridian!

okay good to know about the head piece, I wont freak out when I see it and it looks massive!
aw darn, I had illusions of grandeur about Ivy Trellis. I dont know what I was expecting but I guess something really unique because it is the best salon in disney. I saw that the prices are really reasonable, they are the same as I pay for the salon here. I was probably expecting some big lavish space and a musical number to be performed throughout my hair cut :lmao:

I'm still waiting on my floral BEO from Rosie. I keep trying to figure out how much it will be in my head but I feel like I am forgetting stuff or something. I have a fear that it is going to be like A LOT of money. But all I have are 4 boutinneres, 2 triple rose wands, 2 corsages, the basket of rose petals, and 31 cinderella slippers. Maybe like 1,000.00  I just dont want to be suprized by a really high number.
In other news for my birthday next weekend I made reservations at The Melting Pot! I'm so pumped I've only been there once years ago, and i remember really liking it at the time. Our usual place hasn't been good the last couple times so we need to branch out and try something different.

Hey Amanda! I just got caught up. Hopefully your headband will be in soon, but you've got enough time so don't worry. Everything sounds really good so far. I don't think the floral BEO should be too high, but I think any BEO is rather shocking.

ugh, I am so close to my goal weight I can taste it! :cool1: Actually my taste buds have probably become under developed from eating card board tasting diet food for so long, so that statement is inaccurate. I have 9 lbs left, but there is a problem. This week is thanks giving - a week later, my birthday 12/6 - then christmas - then jons birthday 1/7 - then the wedding! It is going to be REALLY hard to lose weight during all those celebration dinners. I just have to stay motivated and get right back on the band wagon.
I also decided to take out some student loan money for "school" yesterday. After going over everything my DF and I saw that things were going to be pretty tight around wedding time. We really want to have an awesome vacation in disney and not really worry about our spending so I did it so that we could have that extra cushion to enjoy ourselves.

BTW, we're almost birthday twins too! Mine is the 5th! I'm sure you'll be good over the holidays. Sometimes it's good to increase the calories a little bit. It reminds the body you're not starving. Just calculate the extra food/calories into your diet. Don't start yourself, but don't over indulge either. Workout a little more. Maybe eat a little healthier (which can be difficult) for the other meals. You can definitely make it and still have your cake! popcorn::

I went to the miller park target tonight! I looked all over the 1$ racks for the blankets but didn't see any. But I skipped over the dog area thats probably why :lmao:, they did have these nice disney tins, pen packets, and mini notebooks for 1$ that I really wanted to buy but could not think of a use for. I knew if I came home with a bunch of 1$ disney junk my DF probably would not be too pleased with me :cutie:

Ooh I love the melting pot and so does my DF, you'll have a great time. It's really a nice relaxing dinner. We really love the white chocolate fondues....so good! I've had milk chocolate based a few times but after the white chocolate there's no going back!
YUMM! Good to know, whatever we order I want them to flambe it table side. They also have Rosa Regale listed on their wine list, that is all DF and I drink in disney so we are looking forward to a bottle of that :woohoo:

So my day started off bad because I slept in too late. This made me get up and rush to school to get to my advising appointment on time, which I did. I find out that I only need 18 credits to graduate, no prob, 1 semester left! Actually no, University of Wisconsin college system is HORRIBLE! they do everything they can to keep people in school longer which puts more money in their pockets. One of my classes isn't being offered next semester, and nobody knows when that class will be available. So me and however many other people sitting around waiting for this one class to graduate continue to wait and then when the class does become available you better be on your computer at the exact moment classes open or else it will fill up and you wont get in.
So then i'm off to my first class. During our 10 minute break I decide to run and get a coffee down the hall. Apparently it is slow motion day at the coffee shop because it took the 2 girls working 15 minutes to make me latte. Ladies, it's not hard. I have an espresso machine so now I know how easy it actually is. Okay, so I'm a couple minutes late no biggie, wrong again! I get to class and teh doors are all locked, I knock, no one answers the door for me. So now I am stuck in the hallway (where I am writing this from) for 2 hours until class ends because all my stuff is in there
Next my DF calls me and lets me know that apparently the post office tried to deliver my tiara and now it is being sent back or something. He is fighting with them because they are saying they left notices. WE NEVER EVEN GOT ONE NOTICE!!!!! This is so stupid, I hate life today. I am for sure breaking my diet this afternoon.

this does not include dinner at Ohana for 31 people with wine, I'm estimating that being around 1500.00, And our marriage license which is around 100.00. and our total vacation for the 2 weeks was about 5,000.00 then our plane tickets were 350.00. So somewhere around 17,000.00 total is what our whole wedding trip will cost. Considering that is is for a wedding AND a honeymoon it is really not that bad.

Sorry you had such a bad day. That really sounds so annoying, and I hate those days when you just can't catch a break.
I hope you're able to get your tiara. I hate when they leave those notices, especially when the item would fit in the mailbox anyway. I always have to fill them out 2-3 times staying just leave it at my address before they actually do. It's even worse that you never got the notices though. Hope it works out!

thanks, I'm SOOO over college at this point. My opinion is that unless you are going to be a doctor or some type of specialized field there is really no point the classes are so dumb. I am majoring in English Literature and I have pretty much read the same books for every class. I have done the same Hemingway novel 4 times! It is so stupid, I have also been in school for 5 years now so its time for me to be done already.
My wonderful DF went down the the post office today for me to deal with the whole tiara issue. The guy at the front desk was being a real jerk and telling him he couldn't get it without the notice. After arguing with him for like 15 minutes he finally just asked to speak with a manager who was much nicer and brought out the package right away. I'm glad he went and not me because after the day i had i would have flipped out :scared1:

WOW! Things are really coming along now- just over a month to go! Thank you so much for posting your BEO- I always find them so helpful- especially since you have 2010 pricing! What type of mints will you put in the white chocolate slipper? Is disney floral setting them up for you at Ohana? Did they charge extra to set them up? Also I saw a little bit back you were debating about the wine at Ohana and I was wondering if you had to decide ahead of time or if you were just trying to decide so you knew what to order when you get there? Also your puppy is very cute but VERY naughty to destroy your tiarra:eek: But I love the new headpiece, glad you FINALLY got it!:goodvibes

I have absolutley no idea what kind of mints they are. In the picture they were light blue, pink, and white and they looked pretty in the slipper so I was just like, yah sounds good! :confused3
Disney floral is setting them up for me at Ohana free of charge :thumbsup2
I was just trying to figure out who will be drinking and what because at almost 40.00 a bottle I dont want to waste anything. I think we decided on starting with 7 bottles of white and no red and people can just drink that and if it goes fast we might have to cut people off and say , uhm we cant afford to keep buying wine. I'm just afraid that because it is free people are going to go crazy and get really drunk, which is the last thing that I want.

I just found out that my parents are getting me a Kindle for my birthday. I am super excited for this
All the bookworms out there know that this is like the ultimate gift. :lovestruc It is this little electronic devise that lets you download like every book written on it and store it in the memory. It holds 1500 titles it also has a built in wireless connection so you get internet everywhere with it. The books only take 1 minute to download and every new release costs 9.99, compared to the 30.00 you pay for hard cover at Barnes and Noble! I cant wait! :yay:

It is so pretty on, however it does seem a little flimsy. My other one was much more sturdy feeling. And the crystals can be moved around and placed at different angles which worries me that it is going to be really breakable. But I only need it for 1 day so I'm not too worried.

Haha, you don't look *really* old in your pics!! I love the tiara, very bright and shiny. And one positive about the "flimsy" feeling is that it should weigh less and will probably be more comfortable in the long run.

i see your point about the head band. it is really comfy so I wont get a head ache which is good.
i really need a new camera too, jons is like 10 years old, cell phone cameras have a higher pixel count than our digital camera!
i'll give updates about my kindle to see if it is worth it, it is arriving tomorrow. I'm kind of mad because i just ordered like 3 books online. maybe i'll put them on ebay and then re buy them for the kindle.

The tiara looks so nice on you! I have the same one and it does help seeing it on someone else too, I do agree it's a little flimsy, especially the center of the side accent, but it does only need to last one day and I'm sure it will.
Love the decorations! Great job! I've been super lazy and haven't felt like putting them up yet, although I did order a few things from the Disneystore.com and that has slowly given me some x-mas spirit.
Oh no, sorry about the fridge. I know how frustrating it is to be off track, especially when you're really trying to be good.
Some healthier Fast food options for you and of course portion control is key:
-subway: do whole wheat bread and vinegar or mustard; you can get apple slices instead of chips
-chinese food: chicken with broccoli is not too bad, watch the rice portion
-Italian: pick whole wheat pasta with tomato sauce, a tomato based primavera would also be a good choice.
-Greek: chicken souvlaki
-Mcdonalds or FF burger places: order a kids meal, you can also get apples instead of fries, but who can resist those fries?
Most places will also make grilled chicken for you and just try to get in a lot of veggies too. You can do salads too, but really limit the dressing.
Good luck!

so today i have been in bed sick and sleeping for the greater portion of the time. as much as i hate being sick i do enjoy sleeping for 8 hours straight. The fridge should be fixed tomorrow so then i am able to start my diet again. I have gained 5lbs back. i hope to lose it pretty quick. the kindle is still amazing, im 53% done with my 900 page book and i cant wait to start something new. The new Steven King book looks intriguing to me. I have never read him but I kind of want to see how his new one plays out. Th melting pot was really really good. expensive, but totally worth it. The bottle of Rosa Regale was 45.00!!!!! at the store up the street it is 20.00. oh well, like jon said it is my birthday so we can spend the money for one day. thats it for now. the wedding gets paid off dcember13th and we just paid off our honeymoon.

THE FRIDGE IS STILL BROKEN! :scared1:
I am going on a month now with this crap!
Never buy ANYTHING from Sears! They are the worst company in the entire world! The guy that they finally sent out to fix the fridge apparently put some piece in it and just left... didn't turn it on...nothing, that was it. So guess what happened, it didn't do anything! it is still broken! Jon called them and they said that it takes 24 hours for the fridge to start working...so somehow the fridge must know that it needs to start working on the 24th hour after the repairman leaves? Or maybe Jesus Christ manifests in my kitchen on the 24th hour and performs the miracle of decent customer service by repairing my appliance for me, all while singing "Myyyyy kitcheeenn iii-iii-iiisss a house of prayer-air-aaaiir!" (jesus christ superstar anybody?) I really dont think that is any more far fetched than having sears send a repair person who actually knows what they are doing at this point.
(Therese and Brittany I hope you are out there laughing at this post)
Jon went into the store today and told them I want a new fridge so they told him to pick one out at a similiar price point. So here come problem # 2 with them....Every single fridge is about 500.00 more than it was a couple months ago because they jacked up all the prices on their crappy non working appliances to make unsuspecting nice new home buyers pay more for their junk for christmas. So they try and tell Jon that he has the pay the difference ON THE EXACT SAME FRIDGE that we just bought 2 months ago which is now 500.00 more. At that point he raised hell, and ended up getting out of that little scheme of theirs.
Honestly, this has been the worst experience ever dealing with this company. I'm going to quote Jon here as to what he told teh customer service rep on the phone "We are a young couple just starting out and over the years we plan on spending a lot of money on home appliances and furnishing, and I can tell you without a doubt that none of that money will ever be spent at a Sears ever again." and in the words of the customer service rep, "Well, I suggest you just stop shopping there then." That pretty much sums up our entire experience with them from start to finish. This is a company that must be on the down fall and they could just care a less about their clients, their reputation, and their customer satisfaction.
Just because I mentioned it now i have to post it:

To aduck126,
My name is Brian and I am part of the Sears Cares Escalations team. I am very sorry to hear about the issues with your refrigerator. Waiting a month to have the issue resolved is very concerning to us. There are several things here that are also not acceptable behavior by Sears associates, and we would like very much to talk with you about these things. Your replacement should have been done, no questions asked if it was the same model. I would also seriously like to know if you folks got a name and ID of the associate who told you to stop shopping with Sears. We definitely need to address that. We do value you as a customer and we are very serious when it comes to issues such as this. At your convenience, please contact my office via email at searscares@searshc.com so you don’t have to continue to be frustrated. In the email, please provide a contact phone number and we will call you directly. Also, please provide the screen name (aduck126) used to post here for reference to your issue, and we do look forward to talking to you soon.
Thank you,

We saw a lady with her full grown great dane and it was actually almost the same size as Prince is now. Jon said that his parents were HUGE. So I am hoping he just keeps on growing. I pretty much just want a horse in dog form.

Yesterday my mom pre paid Ana for both of our hair and make up services. It ended up being 250.00. I also shipped out my wedding dress to my grandma in Florida. I am kind of freaking out about that a little bit. It cost 60.00 because I got all the extras, 1st class, delivery confirmation, and insurance. So I am hoping it arrives without any problems or else I am going to have a major breakdown.

People are driving me crazy!!!
I am getting so stressed out over everyone keeping on track throughout the wedding and not getting lost during location changes. I am getting really scared because everyday I get someone sending me an email asking me "so how do I get to the magic kingdom? How do I get to epcot?" I didn't take into consideration when planning my wedding that people would seriously not have the slightest clue about disney world and it is driving me crazy.
I'm also freaking out because I have no idea how to get to the international gateway from the polynesian. Our dinner is at ohana then we have a DP. So people are asking and I haven't a clue and some people are saying that they are going to go back to their hotels to change clothes when teh dinner starts at 5 and the DP is at 7:45. There is clearly not enough time to change clothes! People are getting me really stressed out. I wish tehy would all just relax so I could too.

Don't let it stress you out. I know it can be so frustrating. Can you designate a family member to answer these types of questions?
Is the I/G where you're meeting the Epcot guide? Can they just meet you at the front? From the Poly you'll take the monorail to EP but that will drop you off by the front entrance and you would need park admission to meet them at the I/G which I'm not sure if that would be a problem for some of your guests.
You could also go to the TTK and take a bus to BWI / YC / BC and then walk to the I/G. I'm pretty sure the TTK is within walking distance of the Poly.

thanks. i dont know if disney will let them walk through the front gates if they are wearing tuxes. I hope so. My days agenda from my WC says that everyone needs to meet at the international gateway at 7:45. So I'm just telling them all to meet there to avoid the wrath of disney. Everyone will have park admission so I can just tell them to go to Epcot the normal way through the front gates and meet at the international gateway. maybe that is what i'll do. I just hope that they are allowed in all dressed up.

The best way to get to IG would be to take a bus to the Yacht/Beach club. Then all you have to do is walk back outside and walk around the lake (like 5-10 minute walk)
http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a0df25b3127ccef95daddfd05f00000030O08BbN27Ry5aA9 vPh4/cC/f%3D0/ps%3D50/r%3D0/rx%3D550/ry%3D400/
The problem is there is no resort to resort buses, so you'd have to get to DTD or the TTC or a park and then take a bus to Yacht Club or even Boardwalk.

So the weather is looking AMAZING for the wedding day! I am soooooo relieved. As of right now it is supposed to be 68 degrees with a few clouds and only a 10% chance of rain. Flying out of Milwaukee should be a breeze as well, the forcast calls for mostly sunny skies and no snow :yay: I am really glad we changed our flight because the day we were supposed to fly out is calling for snow showers. that could have been a close one.

I made him this awesome pie.

it is chocolate cookie cheesecake.
I think he wants to go see Sherlock Holmes and then go to his favorite pizza place. Right now it is a terrible snow storm outside so we will see if that alters any of the plans.

I'm leaving tonight, actually tomorrow morning. My parents are picking me up at 5am and we are off the the airport!
My moms friends threw me a small bachlorette party yesterday and it was sooo much fun. My moms boss had it at her house and cooked us all a really nice dinner and then we had a bunch of cocktails and played some games. I also got a lot of really nice gifts as well. My mom and I got our nails done and had so much fun all day. Now I have to drive back to Milwaukee and start packing :woohoo:

thanks pezaddict! the head piece held up really well actually. Ana had to really shove it in to get it in the perfect spot and pin it like crazy because i was actually wearing it as a tiara more than a head band so it wasn't resting against my actually head at all, but Ana figured it out and after that it never moved.

Jack Day- A+ - he was the sweetest southern gentleman. All of the guests raved about his sermon. A great choice for any Disney bride.
Rosie floral team - B+- The only reason rosie is getting a B is because she handles way too much of a work load. Some emails for her were ignored and it took her weeks to respond at times. I also never got the specific picture request form from her i had to ask my planner Kathleen about it like the day before my wedding and she handled it for me. Other than that the flowers and the favors and decor from Rosie looked amazing.
DC Kathleen Reynolds - A - very relaxed easy to deal with person. She calms you down and is on top of everything so you dont have to be. I really enjoyed working with her
Beaute Speciale- A+++++ - wonderful stylists, i cant say enough good things about Ana and her team. They were a lot of fun to goof around with before the wedding. I would recommend them a thousand times over.
Transportation - F - this is my only complaint and it is not Disney it is Mears. upon arriving to disny world DH and I had 2 vouchers for the magical express because we were staying for 2 weeks at disney the first at Port Orleans, the second week at AKL. However, the first 2 nights I was staying at my parents hotel room with them at the Grand Floridian. We spent 1.5 hours arguing with Mears to let us on the shuttle and they wouldn't. First they said it was because we were not guests at the GF. My parents added us to their room guest list and got us swipe cards for their room and building because they were in the Sugar Loaf concierge suit. Then they said that it doesn't matter if we are guests anymore it is still against policy if we dont have a ticket to the GF even though we had one to Port Orleans and another to AKL. Then the manager of the Grand Floridian got on the phone and talked to the manager of the magical express and demanded that we get let on the bus. The guy still said no he actually told jon that "he doesn't let any average person on his buses with every arbitrary excuse." At this point us and the Grand Floridian people were fuming with this A-Hole so the GRand manager said that he will either send over a personal car for us to take paid for by the GF or we could buy bus tickets and he would reimburse us when we arrived. So instead of wating an extr 30 minutes for the car we bought the tickets which the Mears guy charged us 40.00 for! to ride the magical express to disney! the FREE magical express!
That was our first run in with Mears. #2 happened the night of our wedding at the Polynesian before dessert Jon went to the front desk and told them that we need 7 taxi's to take everyone to the dessert party. THey arrived and we got everyone situated in their cars and Jon gave someone in each car a 20.00 to pay the cab driver. He told all the drivers to go to the International gateway at Epcot- making sure he said do not take them to the front entrance. So what did they do??? Every cab except 1 went to the front entrance. This confused everyone and all of our guests were almost an hour late for the DP. As is this isn't already annoying enough some of the cab drivrs actually charged the people 30.00!!!! Jon and I had no idea until the next day when a couple people mentioned being charged upwards of 30.00. My dad said that the only reason he didn't get charged that much is because when the cab driver "got lost" he told him he better turn off his meter or else he is not getting a paid a cent.
So just a warning to future brides - Mears sucks! be weary of their transportation.

I love the pic of you two with the "Up" crew, I am super jealous!
thank you :goodvibes
it was weird seeing teh characters not dressed and then watching them in the parade after we got off our float it just felt like i was cheating some how haha, if that makes sense.
Dug from Up pretended to lick my hand it was awesome. I like the pic because me and Mr. Fredrickson have the same glasses and hair style. :rotfl:

Thanks so much!!!

the princess tiana pictures were in this tiny area right next to the castle in a gazebo. I want to say it is against the castle right by the Liberty square area. they have a designated spot set up just for Tiana. The Up characters are in Hollywood Studios. They are in the history of animation area, i think that is what the ride is called. It is over by the little mermaid in that area.

So instead of buying a bunch of t shirt and novelty pens this trip because it was our wedding we decided on buying one huge gift for each other in Disney. We decided on getting the Thomas Kinkade painting entitled "A new day at Cinderella's Castle". The lady told us that there are only 2 copies left in the world available to buy and they are here at Disney World. So we bought one of them! We just got it today from UPS, and let me tell you it is much bigger in our house than it was in the store. It is the biggest one that they made 30x40. But it is so beautiful. We are turning our entryway into a Disney themed escape area :goodvibes
Here is it hanging. and my crappy macbook pics do not do it justice

I love it! :cloud9:
Granted, Jon had to sit down and take a breather after purchasing it, I dont think he ever expected to pay over 1000.00 on a piece of art! :lmao:
Yes, it is not the most useful purchase but it is something extra special that we will have for the rest of our lives and remember our amazing Disney Fairy tale wedding every time we glance at it.

All the new pictures you posted are great and I really love your wedding hair and make-up. I think you really resemble Anne Hathaway, she could be your FB doppleganger ;).
How great that you got to meet so many characters. I think seeing them half out of costume would have ruined a little bit of the magic for me too.
I'm so jealous you got pics with the UP characters! We waited over an hour and the line wasn't moving at all so we gave up. I hadn't seen the movie yet but when I did I was even sadder we didn't wait it out.
Ooh I'll have to look for Tiana and Naveen!
Wow, I absolutely LOVE that Thomas Kinkade painting and I'm sure it looks just amazing in your house! What a great idea! I always love to go into the Art of Disney store and drool over all the beautiful art. My favorite are the Wyland paintings with Disney characters... one day I'll have to get one! I think DF wants the big flatscreen TV first though.

okay so i haven't figured out how to seperate the quotes so i'm going to space out my responces and hopefully they will make sense :rotfl:
1. thank you, I get anne hathaway almost everyday! i actually had her publisist or someone who works with her stop me at the Land Rover Dealership when I was getting my car fixed and was like "Oh my god! you look just like Anne Hathaway, and I should know because I work with her everyday!" that was kind of cool. Too bad I dont have her money!
2. i'm sorry that you didn't get to meet the UP guys :sad1: We actually met them twice becasue the first time Mr. Fredrickson wasn't there. So we had to get him in the pic. Both times the wait was like 10-15 minutes. Not too bad. Princess Tiana and Naveen (thank you by the way for that, i had no idea what his name was, because really who cares about the Princes :cutie:) they were a different story the line was INSANE for them. We were lucky and caught them right away and only waited like 20 minutes.
3. I got the painting by covering all my bases and buying the DH a huge flatscreen tv for christmas :lmao: it is all about planning ahead ;)

Be for-warned this is a small rant about wedding guests....
So my mom's side of the family is really making me angry, even post wedding. At the wedding it all started at Ohana, we informed everyone that jon and I will be buying wine for the table at dinner but cocktail drinks will be paid for by the guests if they choose to order one. So a couple of strangers at the bar were nice enough to buy Jon a beer and me my Lapu Lapu. (these were the only people that bought us a drink the whole day--complete strangers). So my aunt sees my Lapu Lapu and says "Go get me one of those." all rude like, not even a please. Uhm, excuse me it is MY wedding, I dont think so. So I just ignore her she then sits at teh table complaining the whole time to my moms family how rude jon and I are because we didn't pay for their drink. So she goes up and orders cocktails for her my grandparents, and my other aunt. The total came to 60.00. Tired of her complaining the whole dinner my dad finally went and paid for their drinks just to get them to shut up. (my dad that has been out of work for 2 years!). I was so angry. In the meantime after dinner we ended up throwing away 4 full bottles of wine so its not like we were cheap with it or anything, there was plenty.
Then my aunt and her daughter and my grandparents all skip out of the dessert party! This made me soooo mad :scared1: I pre paid for these people to go and they just dont show up with no excuse, one minute they were like see you there, then they just went back to their hotels. how could you do that???
My next complaint is that they wrote a check from all 6 of tehm for 500.00. We were in Disney for 2 weeks after our wedding and the day after my mom got a call from her sister (my aunt) telling her not to cash the check until the end of the week, my mom was like well they dont get back until the 26th so it should not be a problem. So she never told me. I get a call on the 26th saying not to cash the check that they are sending another one. Well I know them and I know they are NOT sending another one they are just trying to get out of giving me my wedding gift because this is what they do for everything. So I wait 4 days, ample time for the "new" check to arrive. I get NOTHING, so I cashed it. Now my aunt is not speaking to my mother and demanding that she pay her 300.00 because that is what she was charged for bouncing checks. And I don't feel bad at all... am I wrong here????

I just have to say right off that if this were my family, I wouldn't feel bad either.
They knew ahead of time the drinks were on themselves if they wanted them, so there was no reason they should've assumed you would get them. Any respectable wedding guest will remember this and follow. People who complain that much should be locked away in a dark cave. =]
As for the check, you had every right to cash it on the day they originally asked you to wait for. At that point, it's their responsibility to have the money in the account. It's a gift, and they know this. They also picked the day. Your mom also should have no responsibility what so ever for the fees your aunt got for being a/an [insert word of choice here] and not having the money in the account. It's completely your aunt's fault that fees happened.
You have no reason to feel bad at all. I wouldn't either after all of that.

thank you! I'm glad someone agrees with me. My mom is on my side in this too. As for the drinks why the hell would I spend 20.00 per person buying everyone Lapu Lapus??!?! they just assumed i would ONLY buy THEIR drinks???? ugh, i am so fed up with them right now. I don't even want to send them thank you cards. Or I want to just write "thanks for coming, skipping half of it, and then trying to take back your gift."

I would be pissed, I'm kind of afraid my Df's parent will do something like this, they're always promising thathey'll do so-and-so and then... nothing, like the BBQ they said they would buy us for our house, that my parents ended up buying us!
I might send a thank you card that just says thank you on the front and nothing inside, kind of like them (was that too mean, their not my family :confused3)
That is my humble opinion anyway :)

Overall I am satisfied with the pics, however, I do have a couple complaints. I don't like that they used the most unflattering pic of me with 12 chins as the home page picture. I specifically requested lots of castle pics and there are only 3. I was expecting the castle to show up in the pavilion pictures. I said no pics of guests and there are a couple of those. I also am upset that there are like 40 pictures of Jon and his family, and there are not one picture of just me with my family. There are also alot more in the pavilion with his family. Those are my complaints overall though I think I can get 20 nice pictures out of them so I am not unhappy. :goodvibes plus there is no reason to get all worked up about it now.

i did use Disney photo people. Our guy was fine, as you can tell by the pics. He was always asking us questions like with the ring pictures he asked if we wanted traditional or the way he does it, thats the way we picked. we filled out a sheet that listed what pics we wanted and which ones we didn't want. I really didn't have any problems with them. It was something I was really struggling with too, weather or not to hire outside photography because of the reviews of DPS on here, but in the end I'm glad that I saved myself the extra 800.00 or so dollars and just stuck with the disney people. You can also request photographers with Disney so if you like the look of our pics our photographers name was Ty. :thumbsup2

I don't know how I missed your pictures but they turned out great! You can really see how happy you both are! I totally agree that the Wedding Pavilion is so much prettier in person than I've ever seen it in pictures but it's still really pretty in pictures. That does stink about the Castle.
I'm sorry they didn't get as many pictures with your and your family. My DFSIL had the same problem. Out of like 3,000 pics they didn't get one of just her and her two brothers (who were both groomsmen) but then there are tons of pics at the reception of some random second cousin...

And my family are the ones buying all teh professional pics from the website so Disney really missed out too on a couple hundred dollars probably because nobody in DH's family will buy any. i just wanted to say how happy i am that i got my escape wedding in before disney decided to pretty much start charging the price of a wishes wedding for it. you knew that the prices were going to just skyrocket. it is kind of sad because you should not need a ton of money to get married at disney world. but i got mine in so really i can't complain :goodvibes
also i posted a question on the dining boards about how we got the DDX dining plan and ended up canceling our last 3 days of 2 point dinners because we were sick of being treated like crap by all the waiters at these restaurants. I think it is because they thought we were young and poor so they would not get tipped by us. the post was up for probably like 2 minutes and i got one responce from a girl who agreed with me and the moderators immediately shut down the thread! i guess you cant mention bad expiriences on there. i didn't name names or anything. that kind of made me mad. you should be able to discuss the good and the bad. i was advising other young couples to skip the deluxe plan because it is not worth it to be looked down on at 80% of your meals. and it is not like we look "trashy" i wore nice dresses and DH wore a shirt and tie to all of these meals so i don't get it. okay thats my small rant i'm done. still love you disney:cutie:

That sucks your thread got shut down! So much for giving reviews! I can't believe you were looked down on by the servers. There is now a minimum of $7500 if you want to add on anything to the escape pkg like a dessert party or something, and I believe the minimum applies on Saturdays and Sundays no matter if you planned to add anything on or not.

it is only a matter of time before it gets to be wishes pricing and more. It just sucks, there should be affordable options for every budget. but i know that is not how the world works.
i know i was so mad when it got shut down! the moderator said it was because there was mention of tipping and should be posted in a different forum, which is complete BS because i only said tipping in reference to the waiters maybe thinking we are bad tippers.

Can I ask about the dessert party? My DB and I are getting married at Leu Gardens next year but are going to have our after wedding dinner on site and book a Wishes fireworks cruise. We would love to have a DP the night before the big day. There will only be us and 4 guests. Will they do a party that small and can I ask how much it is per person please?
Sorry for the long winded question...I'm just very excited!!!
thanks for checking out my pj! sorry it took so long to get back to you.
they will do a party that small but they charge you an extra fee for it. i dont know off hand how much it is. the menu that we had was the cheapest and it was 22.00 per person. if your guests dont have park tickets you also get charged a "viewing fee" it is just under 14 dollars per person. plus there is a 22% gratuity and tax charge.

FIRST of all, YOU are BEAUTIFUL!!! all your pics are great!! especially you in the mirror - to die!! it is a teeny bit odd there are a bunch of random smiling family members - not bad, just not what i would be wanting to spend my professional photography $$$ on, anybody could kinda take those... but still..
and by the by, that aunt is a goofball and i am so sorry you are even giving it two thoughts!!! best thing, send a really lovely thank you card and say how great it was to spend that special day with them and thanks so much for their generous gift!!! that will really irritate them. heh.

i actually just didn't send them thank you cards. my DH wrote them out then i didn't bother getting addresses because they are not talking to me anyways. i have not heard from them at all since the wedding (not including the one phone call telling me that they are taking their money back) so why should i go out of my way to contact them? so thats where the situation is currently at, hehe.

I just perused the unmentionable site making fun of me. I thought it was pretty funny, nothing too horrible. Just that i'll be divorced soon and i'm a b-tch, and saying that i'm trashy for putting my friends sweat shirt on at the 30 degree dessert party yada yada yada. pretty much just ramblings. Still not getting what is upsetting so many other people on here and driving them to delete their pjs.

What is this stupid site?? Yea, I can totally tell you are a major B. (please note this is sarcasm!) I loved your wedding! Totally gorgeous.
It's like when I went to ratemyteacher and saw one of my students gave me a super low rating because I gave them homework. I just found it funny. But I guess some people are sensitive. But these people, on the other site, need to get a life!

Found it. Well at least they are all congregating together on a different site rather than doing it here. And it's not always totally negative or Disney bride specific, but I can see how some sensitive individuals could have gotten upset.
I say just brush it off, like you are doing. Also it outright says in the title of the forum it's for when you feel like being a complete b. I'd definitely rather have them saying it on that site rather than in the PJs. And let's be honest, not everyone is going to agree with our choices, and many of the disbrides have experienced worst for their own families.
To each their own.

Hi, I loved your wedding! :thumbsup2I just have a few questions. I plan on having an escape wedding at the wedding pavilion. How does the whole cake cutting work after the ceremony? How much is the cost for each additional bottle of champagne and how many people will it serve? I also would like to have a dinner at Ohanas after the cake cutting. How was it for you having the dinner there? Would you recommend it to someone else? Do you know if the Disney team will set up flowers, place cards, and favors at a restaurant like Ohanas? Any advice that you have for me is welcomed. Sorry for all the questions you just seem to have done practically everything I want.

hey pinkmiss, thanks for checking out my pj and congrats on your upcoming wedding.
We had a "staged" cake cutting ceremony. So immediately after pics the limo starts taking people over to the grand. We just cut the cake for pictures but didn't serve it out to people, and had our first dances and drank the champagne. We didn't serve out the cake becasue we were going straight to dinner and with the dances the time would have been cutting it pretty close. The cake was boxed up for us and when we got to the Polynesian for dinner we handed it to the bellhop and they had it sent to our hotel. Don't ask DFTW to do this because they will say no, just go straight to the bellhop.
The fairy tale cuvee is the only champagne available and it was pretty expensive, the extra bottles I believe were around 60-70$ each. Its been so long, i dont remember the exact price. But you get 6 glasses out of each bottle. I asked ahead of time who wanted it, and just did it that way. Like when people RSVPd they would check if they wanted to be served champagne or sparking grape juice, that was a way to save money. you have an hour and a half between ceremony and cake cutting. So our ceremony was like 15 minutes, then we spent the rest of the time with pics and cake cutting.
Ohana was amazing! that place is the best deal in disney! Everyone loved it, the atmosphere was great, the ukalalee (dont know how to spell that) was amazing. It really made dinner a lot of fun, the kids had stuff to do so the parents could relax. I can't say enough about how great Ohana was. Disney floral will set up anything you order through disney at Ohana for you. We ordered the white chocolate cinderella slippers filled with mints as favors and they were on the table arranged perfectly when we were sat. Honestly I would say don't go overboard with flowers at Ohana, the table is so full and the restaurant is already decorated for the theme that you really don't need them.
The only thing I would do different if I could is that if you plan on having a dessert party after Ohana I would splurge for the mears party bus, it holds I think like 20 people and is around 600.00. totally worth it though. We did cabs and half the cabs went to the wrong location and most of the guests were an hour late for a 2 hour party. It was a mess.
If you have any more questions feel free to ask. :thumbsup2
