Hi my name is Caitlin and I am a Disney Food Addict

It's hard not to be with all of the amazing food choices at Disney and plus the calories don't count since it's vacation ;)

I just got back from spending 7 full days and 7 nights at Disney World. My trip was from May 6-13

I ate sooo much food!!!!! We were on the Dining Plan so obviously we had to use it up :)

I am really excited because this is my first dining review

The places my family and I ate at were:

Sassagoula Floatworks (POFQ cafeteria and we ate there 3 times)
Wolfgang Puck Express (2 times)
Columbia Harbor House
Studio Catering Company
Captain Cook's (Polynesian's cafeteria)
Contempo Cafe (Contemporary's cafeteria)
Mara (The Animal Kingdom Lodge's cafeteria)
Sommerfest

Table Service
Akershus (character breakfast)
Cape May Cafe (character breakfast)

Tutto Italia
Beaches and Cream
1900 Park Fare (dinner)

Chocolate Mousse from the Boulangerie Patisserie
Ham and cheese baguette from the Boulangerie Patisserie
Kaka Gori
Dole Whip Float
Ice Cream
Root Beer Float
School Bread

Alcoholic Drinks my dad drank them not me

So if you stick around this is what you will be hearing about and drooling over the pics of!

I love the Mardi Gras theme to this resort! We have stayed at POR twice and this was our first time at POFQ and personally I like POFQ better!

When you first walk into the cafeteria you are greeted with colorful masks and float pieces that look like they came straight off of the Mardi Gras parade floats.
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn002.jpg
Isn't it cute?! I just love how colorful and bright it is!

I was anxious to sink my teeth into some Disney food so we hurried over the food counters.

http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn003.jpg

http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn004.jpg

The set up is cute but my mom commented that people who usually have most of their meals at their resort cafeteria wouldn't want to stay here because the cafeteria is small and there are limited food choices. My family usually just eats breakfast and maybe lunch/dinner once or twice at the resort so we didn't mind.

For lunch I chose the Muffaletta Sandwich. It had ham, salami and provolone cheese with a sort of spaghetti sauce in the middle. It was good but around the crust it was greasy. I chose the pasta salad which was very good but with adult sandwiches you can also choose chips instead of the salad. To finish my lunch I had the Mickey head sprinkle sugar cookie. It was good and very big!

http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn005.jpg

My DM had the Cheese Steak Sandwich. She enjoyed it but said it was very messy! The fries were very good though! (one of the perks of having a dis board mom and writing a dining review was that I got a bite of everyone's food!) For dessert she had the Carrot Cake. We all agreed that this was very good!
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn006.jpg

My DD had the Cheese Steak Sandwich and fries as well. He said his was kind of greasy but he still liked it. For dessert he had the Cheesecake. This cheesecake was a little different from what we are used to. Usually cheesecake has a graham cracker crust and my dad expected the crust to be at the bottom but at the bottom there was only a bite of graham cracker. He still liked it but it would have been better with the crust.

Out of Pocket our lunch would have cost: $46
Disney Dining Plan: 3 Counter Service Meals
Grade: B
Comment: It was good but it was just like any other counter service place.

After lunch we went to the Animal Kingdom. Every day we were in Disney the weather was 90+ degrees! We are from Michigan where lately it has been in the 60s! So after walking around for a few hours it was time for a cold snack!

I found this stand in Africa near Kilimanjaro Safaris right in the middle of the village.

http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn008.jpg

I didn't feel like a Mickey ice cream so I went for something different
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn009.jpg
This is the most amazing popsicle in the world!!!

A pic of it out of the wrapper
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn010.jpg

It is frozen pineapple juice with chunks of pineapple in it! It tasted fresh and sweet and when it dripped from the heat it didn't leave me all sticky :lmao::thumbsup2! My whole family loved this! If you are a Dole Whip fan you need to try this when you go to Disney next! They sell it at every ice cream cart so they are easy to find.

OOP: 2.75
DDP: 1 snack credit
Grade: A+++++++++++
Comment: I am drooling now just thinking about it ;):lmao:

http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/DSC_0650.jpg

Me: I am 18 and I am going to be a sophomore in college. I got on the Dean's list both semesters my first year so that was what we were celebrating while at Disney. I got a couple cool desserts from my rents and that's how I celebrate ;) :rotfl:. I am a huge fan of food! There is close to nothing that I won't eat and if I have never tried it before I am up for trying it! I don't know how trustworthy my opinion can be since I love food in general ;)

DD: My dad is another big foodie! He and I ate a ton on this trip! I also want to put it out there now that my dad doesn't drink when he isn't on vacation. I forced him to try all of the popular drinks for my research :upsidedow

DM: My mom is a picky eater. Most of the time the stuff my dad and I order at restaurants gross her out. I was very proud of her this trip because she tried a lot of food she normally wouldn't eat. We were all surprised when she loved a restaurant we ate at because we thought she would hate it. You will have to wait for that one though ;)

I just wanted to do some introductions because I believe if you are a picky eater like my mom and missing out on some restaurants you can think twice about it and maybe decide to eat there :) and if you just love food in general then you would agree with what me and my dad enjoyed :)

Now where was I oh yeah
WOLFGANG PUCK EXPRESS

I had heard a lot about WPE from all of the dining reviews I have read and I knew I had to try it out! I was anxious to try it for months so I was hoping it wouldn't disappoint!

We took the bus to DTD and I immediately dragged my parents to WPE

When we stepped inside it was super busy! I forgot to take pics of the restaurant this time we went but I have pics from another that I will post with that review.

I grabbed a table and waited for my parents to go through the line.

I really like this counter service because it feels just like a table service. Waiters bring you your food and refill your drinks. I am not quite sure if you are supposed to tip them but we did.

For dinner I chose the Rosemary Rotisserie Chicken which is served with house-made garlic mashed potatoes
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn013-1.jpg

Hmm how to describe this food in one word.... AMAZING!
I am a huge mashed potato fan and every bite was amazing! Instead of gravy it had melted butter and Oooo it just tasted sooo good! The chicken was very moist and there was a lot of it! I am also not a big fan of chicken so to me this was the best chicken on the planet! I was so happy with my choice!

For dessert I had the Crème Brulee
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn014-1.jpg
I had never had crème brulee before so I am not sure how it is supposed to taste :confused3 but if it is supposed to taste like roasted marsh mellows then this was a good creme brulee :thumbsup2 I thought it tasted good until I got to a sort of burnt part but it was really sweet and I wouldn't be able to eat a full one.

My dad had the Rigatoni with Chicken Alfredo.
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn015-1.jpg
It was really good and besides there being a hair in it :scared: my dad enjoyed it.

My mom ate my dad's dessert which was the chocolate chip cookie and in this picture is my dad's drink for the night a Corona
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn011.jpg
My mom said the cookie was very fresh tasting and it looked really good!

OOP: $45 (not including the tip)
DDP: 2 counter service meals
Grade: A
Comments: I would recommend this to anyone and I could really go for those mashed potatoes right now!

Hey, had to come over for the Dining Report as well - as you know that's definitely the highlight of our trips!

We've done Wolfgang Puck before and I wasn't too impressed.
My wife really enjoyed it but I like the Counter Service places with more theming.
As for Downtown Disney, we really like T-Rex and have done it twice. It's loud, but a great time for the kid in you!

That pineapple popsicle looks really good though. I'll have to check that out next time - maybe AK's version of a frozen Dole Whip? :yay:

Why else would people go to Disney if not for the food?! ;)
One thing I liked about WPE's theming was the pictures on the walls (I will show them in the second review) mixed Disney with cooking which I thought was clever.
I really wanted to try eating at the T Rex restaurant. We went in there so I could make a Dinosaur for my boyfriend back home and I was soo impressed by the decorations! I loved the underwater section with the giant octopus whose tentacles actually moved!
You have to it is amazing and they are everywhere not just at AK I had one at DHS as well :)

Going into our vacation I was on a kick of trying new restaurants. Akershus is the only restaurant that wasn't new that I allowed us to have a reservation for  I was really excited to go here again because the food was soo good the first time around and the princesses were the best we saw all vacation.

Once we were inside we got our picture with Belle but none of us were very happy with it so I won't post it. :lmao: The photographer took a picture of us from the ground so the camera is pointed up and that's not a very flattering angle for any of us. The picture came with breakfast so I suppose we can't complain. We really didn't get any good pictures because the pictures my dad took came out weird because of the lighting.

Here are a couple pictures of the restaurant
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn019.jpg

http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/DSC_0119.jpg
Instead of taking pictures of all of our plates I decided to just take pictures of the buffet and the hot plate they give you. This way you can see all of the food they have to offer whether we ate it or not and since it was a character meal it would have taken a lot of time out to stop everyone before they started in on their plates every time.

The first part of the cold buffet includes apples, bananas, jarlesburg cheese and salami.
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn020.jpg
My dad really liked the salami and I love that cheese! The cheese with the croissant makes an amazing breakfast! My mom also took one of the apples for later.

The next part you come to includes fruit and different toppings for I assume bagels. The toppings include cream cheese, onions, and capers. There is also pine apple, cantaloupe, honeydew melon and salmon.
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn021.jpg
I always love the fresh fruit at the buffets so I always eat that up!

This side has grapes, strawberries and cottage cheese.
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn022.jpg

The pastry side of the bar included muffins, strawberry pastries, cinnamon rolls and croissants.
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn023.jpg
I loved the strawberry pastries and the croissants. My mom enjoyed the cinnamon rolls.

Once we got back to the table our server brought the hot plate. It includes cheesy potatoes, sausage, bacon and eggs.
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn024.jpg
The food was good all of us liked the cheesy potatoes but the food wasn't as good as it was in December. My parents really liked the eggs though and I took a bite they weren't bad but I am just not a big fan of scrambled eggs.

Next the characters came around and we had a couple surprises this time! In December we saw Jasmine, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White and Mulan.
This time we had Sleeping Beauty
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/DSC_0122.jpg

Cinderella
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/DSC_0123.jpg
When my mom mentioned seeing her here Cinderella got flustered and just said "Well I am here"

Ariel
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/DSC_0124.jpg
My mom was soo excited to see her! Ariel is her favorite princess and she is usually just at lunch and dinner

and last but not least Snow White
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/DSC_0126.jpg

Now the Princesses only stopped for a picture then left right away but Ariel was the only one who took her time with us. I think it is nice that they spend so much time with the kids but I believe adults should get at least the same amount of time as everyone else. I mean we are there so obviously we want to see the princesses!

I really like this breakfast and when we went in December we also went to CRT for breakfast and preferred Akershus. The food at CRT isn't great and we felt like we only went in order to eat at the Castle. I would recommend this breakfast unless you also feel the need to eat at the Castle. The food is better, the princess interaction was better and it's cheaper (for DDPers it's also one credit instead of two).

OOP: 100
DDP: 3 table service credits
Grade: B
Comments: Our server wasn't great and the food was better in December so maybe we were just there on an off day :confused3 it was still good though and we had a good time seeing Epcot and the topiaries while the park was closed. Also we met a nice CM who put us at the front of the Soarin' line so my dad and I ended up second and third in line for the first ride of the day :woohoo:

Based solely on princesses I would recommend Akershus. I thought that they princesses at Akershus were more in character than CRT and you see most of the same just Belle instead of Cinderella.

Yay! Another great update. I wish we were big breakfast eaters. We are going to Crystal Palace for breakfast in July but that's the only breakfast. :)

That should be fun! We used to go there for lunch on our trips but the food got a little bit exotic for us so now we stick to Akershus.

I am sure you and your DD will have a great time! You might want to talk to your son though in my opinion Akershus has the cutest princesses ;) That's how we got my dad to go along with it :lmao:

Boulangerie Patisserie
The Patisserie is a stop me and my family have to make whenever we go to Epcot. My dad and I love the cheese plate and it has become a tradition to get it every trip!

So after a couple hours of saving the world from Kim Possible's archenemies it was time for lunch!

Here are some pictures of your options at the Patisserie
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn025.jpg
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn026.jpg

http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn030.jpg

This is what we had for lunch
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn031.jpg

My dad had the cheese plate which comes with the loaf of bread
Also his first drink of the day was the Grey Goose Slushie which is like lemonade with Grey Goose Vodka it was $9
I had the ham and cheese sandwich (my mom is cutting it in the picture we were going to share it but she didn't like it)
I also had the chocolate mousse which was AMAZING!
My mom ended up eating just the Cream Puff which she really liked

Everyone enjoyed their food so it was definitely worth it!
OOP: around $17
DDP: We would have only been able to use two snack credits for the Cream Puff and the Chocolate Mousse
Grade: an A every time
Comments: Everyone should stop in there while they are at Epcot I love the theming and the food is so good!

Before we left France my dad wanted another drink
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn032.jpg
Here is a pic of the wine/beer selection
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn033.jpg

This time he chose the Grand Mariner (sp?) Slush ($9)
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn034.jpg

My dad liked the Grey Goose slush better but said that this one wasn't bad.

Walking some more around the World it got hot! I had heard about Kaka Gori from the Disboards so I knew I had to try it! It is located in Japan.
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn035.jpg
I loved it!
I chose the rainbow with strawberry, cherry and tangerine! They flavors all mixed well together and it was very refreshing after a long hot walk!
It's only $3.28 or one snack credit!
It was amazing and definitely and A=:thumbsup2

Since my mom never ate lunch we stopped by Sommerfest in Germany
She got the Bratwurst served with sauerkraut and roll and I got her dessert the Bavarian cheesecake
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn036.jpg
My mom liked the Bratwurst but didn't like that it didn't come with a side like chips or some kind or salad.
I loved the cheesecake! I had to scrape most of the powdered sugar off of it since it was a little too sweet but after that it was soo good! Also the top is like a yellow cake and the bottom is too! It's a little different but the worth the stop!

OOP: 12.77
DDP: 1 counter service credit
Grade: A
Comments: Anyone who likes cheesecake and bratwurst would want to stop here!

Last picture My dad's last drink around the world for the day Dos Equis
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn037.jpg
He liked it
So far he is definitely helping out my research :lmao:

The next part you come to includes fruit and different toppings for I assume bagels. The toppings include cream cheese, onions, and capers. There is also pine apple, cantaloupe, honeydew melon and salmon.

We didn't see bagels when we went, but the lox was delicious with cream cheese on a nice croissant.
We agree that Akershus was better food than CRT and the princesses spent much more time with you at Akershus.
And it's less crowded and only 1 TS credit as opposed to 2 TS.
A much better experience in our opinion (although with little princesses, you have to eat in the Castle at least once!)

Keep in mind that with the cold buffet, there is soooo much more to breakfast at Akershus than the eggs. It may still be worth it for you...

The cheeses are Brie, Swiss and I am blanking on the last one sorry! The bread is room temp but they have microwaves so if you wanted it warmer I am assuming they could just warm it up. No there was no butter but I am sure you could ask for some :)

I am so happy I could help! Although they do have the cold bar everything on the hot plate touches the eggs except for the sausage. You will have to write up a dining review of the lunch I have always wanted to try Akerhus later on in the day.

Love your reviews, you are doing a great job!

My daughter will be a sophomore next year too and she made the Deans List with Honors this year in her 1st year of college. We are taking her to Disney to Celebrate just before school starts back up in the fall.

CONGRATULATIONS! I know that your parents are very proud of you. That is an amazing accomplishment!

First off I wanted to apologize for not updating the past couple of days :( My sinuses have been horrible since I got back from Disney and I had to work all this past weekend so I didn’t have time. I am sorry I will try to be more attentive to my dining review.

So off to breakfast at http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn038.jpg

I really liked the theme of this restaurant. It looks like a quaint little beach restaurant and all of the decorations are wonderful!
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn039.jpg
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn040.jpg
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn041.jpg
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/DSC_0243.jpg

But on to the important stuff the food!
They have a bagel and toast buffet when you first walk into the restaurant. They have everything you could ever want to put on your bagel! The options include tomato, capers and lox (smoked salmon).
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn042.jpg
My mom’s only complaint was that they had melted butter and not individually wrapped butter. All she had to do was ask the waitress for some and she brought them right out.

The first part of the cold bar includes all of the fruit. Watermelon, grapes, honeydew melon, cantaloupe, and pineapple just to name a few.
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn043.jpg

The other half of the cold bar is the yogurt bar. They have anything you could ever want to put on your yogurt! Also they have pre-peeled grapefruit and oranges. Across from the pre-peeled fruit is strawberries and hard boiled eggs :confused3
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn044.jpg

The first part of the hot bar includes asparagus (my dad really enjoyed that) bacon, sausage, some omelet egg thing that had cheese and different vegetables in it which we all enjoyed, eggs and potatoes. Everything was very good!
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn045.jpg

The other half of the hot bar includes Mickey waffles, biscuits and gravy and a very yummy breakfast pizza!
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn046.jpg

On the backside of the buffet are all of the pastries.
First bananas and croissants.
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn047.jpg

Then cinnamon buns, chocolate croissants, and muffins.
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn048.jpg

Then icing covered croissants, and strawberry Danishes.
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn049.jpg
I loved the Danishes!

Then some more cinnamon buns, muffins and blueberry bread.
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn050.jpg
My mom loved the blueberry bread!

Then last but not least the cereal bar. It includes cheerios, frosted flakes and fruit loops. I love the little captain’s wheel decoration.
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn051.jpg

The breakfast was very relaxing and we all enjoyed the food!

This was a character breakfast so I will have to show character pictures!!!! These were some more characters that saw me as too old for any real interaction other than a picture. We saw Donald, Minnie and Goofy. The only reason I wanted to go to this breakfast was for their outfits! I saw the pictures on someone's trip report and just fell in love with them in their beach clothes!

http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/DSC_0248.jpg

Goofy was very good and very in character.
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/DSC_0244.jpg

I have to admit I was very disappointed when Minnie didn’t say anything about the Mickey Mouse shirt I had on :(.
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/DSC_0246.jpg

They interacted a lot with the younger ones though so if you have little kids the character interaction would be worth the price.

Overall we enjoyed ourselves. The food was good the theme of the restaurant was nice and a good change from other character places and it was fun seeing the characters.
Grade: A
OOP: $60.68
DDP: 3 Table service meals.
Comments: It is a nice place for a relaxing meal and I would assume it would be quieter than a breakfast at Chef Mickey’s since there weren’t many families there and everyone was spread out from one another.

http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn053.jpg
I wasn't a big fan of it at first because I didn't really like the straight up pine apple juice but once the ice cream mixed with it, it was delicious!!!! :woohoo:

OOP: 3.99
DDP: 1 snack credit
Comments: It was very good and exactly what I needed on a hot day! I also wanted to add that I love how Disney decided to put little DDP photos next to what you can get with the dining plan. It definitely helped out a lot when deciding what snacks we wanted!

After walking around the Magic Kingdom we were hungry! I had wanted to try Columbia Harbour House since I read about it on the DIS. When we got in it was pretty busy! Luckily, from all of my dining review reading I knew to go upstairs where more tables would be available and they were!

My mom and I shared the Fried Fish Basket and for your side you can either choose french fries or apple slices, so of course we chose french fries! For our dessert we had the Apple Crisp.
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn054.jpg
It was soo good! The Apple Crisp was amazing and the order was big enough for all three of us to share!

My dad chose the New England Clam Chowder with a side of fries and an Apple Crisp.
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn055.jpg
My dad hated the New England Clam Chowder at first! He mixed it up though and it tasted somewhat better. Not liking your food always saves you room for more dessert and he did like the Apple Crisp!

OOP: $25
DDP: 2 counter service credits
Comments: I did enjoy the meal my only problem was a bird got stuck inside of the restaurant and kept flying around us :scared1:

For our last snack of the day we decided to stop by the ice cream palor :)

I got the double scoop cookies and cream
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn057.jpg

and my dad got a root beer float
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn058.jpg

OOP: $9
DDP: 2 snack credits
Comments: The ice cream was very good and I was surprised that a two scoop would be on the DDP so that made my day!

I like your orange dole whip in the pineapple juice. My DH always gets the pineapple/pineapple juice. It's TOO much pineapple for me. I might just have to try the orange with pineapple. Sounds YUM-O!!!

Keep the reviews coming! You write a great report and I love the pics, too!

Great thread! Your layout is wonderful and the OOP prices makes the DP all the more attractive! My DD will be happy that the ice cream is on the snack menu and I assure you we won't be leaving with a snack balance as we have in the past!

OMG! You did it to me again. I am soooo hungry for that fish basket at Columbia House. We ate there in April and I loved it so much. My DH and family didn't like it but me and my little bambino inside of me loved it. I may have to try the orange Dole Whip! I soo love a Dole Whip on a hot day. I cannot wait until July!!!!!:cool1:

I just have to ask one question: Where does all of that food go that you intake???????

Yeah I didn't know it came in orange too! I was glad though and honestly I like the pineapple popsicle better than the dole whip :guilty:

Yum, Dole Whip float, I must have one. Can we go now? Rats, I have to wait until Sept.:sad2:

Thank you! I really think Disney needs to pay me for advertising! I love the DDP you don't have to worry about how much money per meal each day and overall we saved at least a hundred dollars! Haha yeah we didn't have a snack balance either! I don't know how people can have extras on their last day!

OOOOO 7 days woot woot!:cool1::cool1::banana::banana: Haha not crazy! I am sure it might be a little hectic but it will be nice seeing Disney through their eyes. Since my family doesn't have any little ones during our character meals we watch the little ones and seeing them have fun improves our time :)

Now this is one that I saw on the DIS and I think every one eats at this restaurant on their vacation :lmao:
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/P1030495.jpg
It took us forever to get a reservation at a decent time! Luckily a family on the DIS decided they didn't want to go to their ADR and gave us their reservation :lovestruc

This is the hallway leading up to the restaurant
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/P1030496.jpg

The bar outside the restaurant ( of course my dad had to stop for some research :thumbsup2)
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/P1030497.jpg

A virgin Strawberry Pina Colada for me and a Lapu Lapu for my dad

http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/P1030498.jpg

Before we paid for the drinks we were called to be seated so my dad paid for them while we went in so I am not sure how much the cost was :confused3

The drinks you see while walking into the restaurant
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/P1030499.jpg

The grill which we were seated next to
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/P1030500.jpg
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/P1030501.jpg

The view from our table
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/P1030503.jpg

The pineapple bread was already at our table when we got their and we had another run in with no butter
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/P1030504.jpg

Our first course included the salad Mixed greens with a honey-lime dressing
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/P1030505.jpg
Now my parents loved the food here but to be honest I was a little disappointed :sad1: It wasn't that the food was bad but I was just too full to really enjoy the meal:guilty:

Next up were the dipping oils (I forget what kinds they were all I know is they were good!)
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/P1030506.jpg

The Honey-Coriander Chicken Wings
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/P1030507.jpg
These were good! I really enjoyed them and they were probably my favorite part of the meal!

And the pork dumplings
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/P1030508.jpg
These were okay they didn't have much flavor compared to the other courses.

PrincessCaitlin

Next came the meats!

Steak (it comes out Medium but you can ask for other cooking types)
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/P1030510.jpg
This was good it was flavorful and juicy! My dad loved it! My mom enjoyed it once she got pieces that were Medium Well.

Turkey and Pork
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/P1030512.jpg
These were okay I liked the Pork better than the Turkey but I am not a big poultry fan.

Shrimp

http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/P1030513.jpg
These were also yummy but they are messy! Having to peel them apart is such a hassle :headache:

The noodles also came out with the meat and they were good!
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/P1030511.jpg
They were definitely not as bad as everyone says on their dining reports. I am not sure if they changed the recipe but they weren't bland.

The broccoli was good as well
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/P1030509.jpg
It tasted nice a fresh and since some of the food was heavy it was a nice change in the meal.

The dessert was probably our favorite part! The Ohana bread pudding served a la mode with Bananas and Caramel Sauce was amazing!
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/P1030514.jpg
I just wish I had, had room in my tummy to enjoy it!

My dad also had some liquid dessert
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/P1030515.jpg
The BackScratcher ($9)

OOP: $93
DDP: 3 table service credits
Grade: A
Comments: My parents already plan on eating here when they go back in October!

Once we were done there we took the monorail over to Epcot for their EMH so for one last hurrah before the night was over my dad got the Sultan's Colada ($9) in Morocco.
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/P1030516.jpg
My dad enjoyed it of course!
I think the bartender thought I was taking a pic of him because he gave me this weird look afterwards :lmao:

Next up: Backlot Express and Tutto Italia

It wasn't crowded at all! The countries were dead when we walked through them and we went on Test Track and Mission: Space without much of a wait.

Hey everyone! I just wanted to check in and say hi! I haven't been able to update this weekend because my family and I participated in the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. If you are not sure what that is it is a 24 hour walk where you raise money for cancer research. Needless to say I am beat :headache:so I will try to get an update up tomorrow and I will respond to any comments then as well! Oh and by the way I am so proud of my team we only had 5 people and we raised $536 and won both of the Team Spirit awards!!!!:thumbsup2

I had bought a school bread for breakfast the night before at Epcot but I woke up not craving anything sweet :confused3
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn080.jpg
I still tried it though and I was not impressed.
It was wayyy to sweet for my taste buds and I think I would have enjoyed it had I had it either a.) fresh or b.) when I felt like something really sweet.

OOP: 1.99
DDP: 1 snack credit

Comments: I would really have to try it again once I wanted something sweet so I could give it a fair review.

Now we had, had lunch plans for Germany but no one felt like eating there so I made reservations for Tutto Italia. My mom did not want to eat there so she opted for the Studio Catering Company in DHS.
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn081.jpg

For lunch she had the hot dog, chips and the marble cheesecake
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn082.jpg
She did not like the food! The hot dog was not as good as they are at Casey's. The hot dog and the bun did not taste fresh and they did not have a good selection of toppings. In her opinion it was just something to eat.

Finally it was our reservation time! I was soo excited to try Tutto Italia! I had read so many good things about it that I just needed to try it!

First they bring you out the bread and olives.
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn086.jpg
Another no butter place my mom wasn't happy.

For my dad's drink he had the Primavera
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn087.jpg
He liked it he just thought it looked like a girly drink :lmao:

To go with his primavera he chose the Scallopini

http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn088.jpg
He really enjoyed this!

And I chose the linguine
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn089.jpg
This was also very good! The sauce was light which helped everything blend together very well!

For dessert I chose the Mocha Tiramisu which is mascarpone cheese, espresso coffee, savoiardi biscuits and chocolate.
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn090.jpg
This was AMAZINGI love Tiramusu and this was one of the best I ever had!

My dad chose the Gianduja/Chocolate Torta which is chocolate and hazelnut torte with whipped cream and raspberry sauce.
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn091.jpg
My dad really enjoyed this as well.

I am so looking forward to eating at Tutto Italia - thanks for the review. I am glad you liked the Tiramisu - it is one of my favorite dessert. When looking over the reviews I have been torn between trying the Tiramisu and Copetta Sotto Bosco.

Question - I have read on the boards that some places will let you switch a dessert for a side dish when on the DDP. Did you ever try doing that? Just curious because I am not a big dessert person and can not imagine eating one twice a day! :rotfl:

I hope you get to feeling 100 percent soon (sorry you have been sick)!! :goodvibes

Great update :thumbsup2 I've never had the School Bread either , heard about it on hear a lot but after your rating I'm not to sure I want to taste it , plus I really don't care for loose coconut. LOL I totally agree w/ you the things they have to offer to eat at DHS for CS are not appetizing at all:crazy2:. This morning I was allowed the chance to sleep in so my mom and dad went to breakfast at Sassagoula Floatworks. I had packed myself some single serving cereals so I could save my Counter Service Credits for dinner.

Another picture of one of the Mardi Gras props.
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn093.jpg
He reminds me of the court jester from The Hunchback of Notre Dame

They both had the same platter for breakfast and were kind enough to bring the camera and take a picture for me
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn094.jpg

My parents both enjoyed their breakfast! Also my mom wanted to add that she reads on the DIS that the platters are big enough to share and she doesn’t believe that they are! She had just enough food and definitely wouldn’t have had enough to share with someone else!

Now I am not sure if everyone knows this but when you use the dining plan for a counter service breakfast you can get two drinks. This came in handy since my parents bought two mugs and their breakfast drinks would go in the fridge for when I wanted them. It saved us some money when it came to buying drinks!

OOP: $22
DDP: 2 counter service credits
Grade: A
Comments: In the morning it was very quiet in the cafeteria and it was nice to start off a day at Disney with a very relaxing meal.

Now I had heard tons of stuff about this restaurant on the DISboards so I knew I had to eat here while we were in Disney!

http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn098.jpg

I ordered the Turkey sandwich with fries
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn099.jpg
It was sooo good! It was the best sandwich I had all week!

My parents split the double cheeseburger and got onion rings instead of fries! It also came out for them already split in half on two separate plates.
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn100.jpg
Their food was also good and they already have plans to go back there on their trip in October!

For dessert we just had to try the ice cream!

We chose the Milky Way Sundae which is a Bundt Cake topped with three scoops of Vanilla Ice Cream, Hot Fudge, Butterscotch, Whipped Cream and a Cherry.
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn101.jpg
It was amazing! All three of us couldn’t finish it though!

Next time I want us to go for the Kitchen Sink!

It was Mother's Day so my mom chose to eat at
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn102.jpg

We were very excited since we had read such great things about the character interaction!

When you first walk in for your reservation you get your picture taken. My mom and I liked it but my dad didn't so we didn't end up buying it.

Then once you are seated you can hit the buffet!

First you come the "kids" section of the buffet.

A cute orange and banana fruit stand.
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn103.jpg

Chicken, Mashed Potatoes, Pizza, Corn and Mac and Cheese.
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn104.jpg
I ended up eating the kid's food since most of the other food didn't sound good to me.

Grapes, Pineapple and Caesar Salad.
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn105.jpg
Disney seriously has the best tasting fruit!

Regular salad greens, salad dressing and soup.
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn106.jpg
They had a butternut squash soup that my dad really liked.

Bread rolls.
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn107.jpg

Mashed potatoes, chicken and parmesan salad.
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn108.jpg
My parents both enjoyed the parmesan salad.

Now the chefs saw me taking pictures so they posed for one for me :lmao:
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn109.jpg

A couple different types of salad and stir fry.
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn110.jpg

The meat carving station
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn111.jpg

For dessert they had ice cream
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn112.jpg

Toppings for the ice cream, cookies, brownies and rice krispie squares.
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn113.jpg

Apple Cobbler and Bread Pudding
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn114.jpg

The many different mini cakes.
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn115.jpg
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn116.jpg

The food was good but this meal is more about character interaction than anything else. Also the meal was good because we got an amazing server!

Now time for the characters. My mom and I were upset because instead of Lady Tremaine they had Pearla!? Come on now who wants to see a mouse when you could have the evil stepmother! So that put a damper on the meal.

But we perked up with this handsome man came over to the table ;)
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/DSC_0687.jpg
He was worth the price of the dinner

Then Cinderella
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/DSC_0689.jpg

Then Pearla
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/DSC_0692.jpg

Then Anastasia
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/DSC_0696.jpg

Then Drisella
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/DSC_0701.jpg
She asked me if I thought I was really smart since I was on the Dean's List and I said I like to think so and she said Wow that is a really good answer :lmao:

The Step Sisters were a lot of fun and I am glad we got to meet them.

Now during the dinner Cinderella and her Prince do a waltz together
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/DSC_0703.jpg
They also go out and choose children to dance with them. We were so happy when the little girl at the table next to us got chosen! But here's a tip if you want your daughter to be chosen make sure she has a Cinderella dress on! The night we went the only girls the Prince danced with were ones dressed like Cinderella.

After everything was over it was time for dessert.

I ended up getting a special one!
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn117.jpg
Oh it tasted soooo good! The white chocolate glass slipper was my favorite part!

Haha yeah and adults can share at any table service. My mom and I usually save our table service credits that way. I have read dining reviews in the past and I didn't like looking at just the food they took so that's why I decided to take a picture of everything so you can get more of a feel for what they had. Yeah it wasn't that the food was bad it's just the fact that nothing appealed to me besides their dessert :lmao:

Oh yeah, that Prince is sooooo yummm!

Great TR. Glad you liked 1900 Park Fare. We are going in August and looking forward to it.
Thank you! I hope you have a good time!

Today we went to Down Town Disney.

I had to go back to Wolfgang Puck Express!

It was soo good the first time I just needed another fix before we left!

This time I remembered to take pictures of the restaurant.
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn118.jpg
I love the mixture of Disney pictures and cooking pictures.
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn119.jpg
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn120.jpg

My dad got the Tortilla Soup which has fire-roasted tomatoes, tortilla strips and goat cheese in it
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn121.jpg
He liked the soup he just thought it was really thick.

He also had the Chopped Italian which has a selection of Italian vegetables including arugula, radicchio, roasted fennel, fresh oregano, red onions, cannellini beans and pepperoni (upon request) tossed with balsamic vinaigrette and Grana Padano Parmesan and it is served with a sun-dried tomato flatbread.
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn123.jpg
The one thing he didn’t like about the salad was that it didn’t have any meat in it so he just took some of my leftover chicken.

And I got my usual the Rosemary Rotisserie Chicken served with house-made garlic mashed potatoes.
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn122.jpg
It was just as good as the first time I had it!

http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn130.jpg

We decided to make our own rice krispie treats!

Mine had milk chocolate, peanuts, Reese’s pieces and drizzled caramel on top!
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn131.jpg
It was sooo good but I wasn’t able to finish it all!

My parent’s was hilarious! We didn’t know that you had to specifically ask if you wanted everything separately so theirs looks like a kid went nuts with it! They had milk chocolate, peanuts, m&ms, and sprinkles.
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn132.jpg

We also got some Mickey Coconut Patties for the room later

They also go out and choose children to dance with them. We were so happy when the little girl at the table next to us got chosen! But here's a tip if you want your daughter to be chosen make sure she has a Cinderella dress on! The night we went the only girls the Prince danced with were ones dressed like Cinderella.

I think it's based more on distance from the center "dance floor."
We had read on the DIS to sit close so the kids can see better.
And the view was definitely better.
In addition, my DD (dressed as Ariel) was chosen by the Prince.
He just seemed to wander to the closest table and choose a princess.
I don't think my DD stopped smiling the whole night after that. :)

First I want to start off by apologizing for how long it took me to write an update! I am coming to the end of my eating adventure and it is hard to become motivated to write :guilty: I only have one update after this one :sad1:
So with that said on to the best meal of the vacation!

It was at Narcoossee's!!!!

I am a huge seafood fan and when I heard you could get lobster here I was all for it :thumbsup2

Here are some pictures of the restaurant

My dad's drink for the night
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn144.jpg
I don't remember what he had but I know he liked it!!!

A bad picture of the butter :lmao:
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn145.jpg
It had some sort of salt on it and my mom was so excited to get some actual butter for once!

The bread was soo good!
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn146.jpg

For appetizers we had the Artisan Cheeses which included Humboldt Fog, Rogue River Oregon Blue, Aged Canadian White Cheddar.
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn147.jpg
The one with the sauce over it was mine and my dad's least favorite :scared: It tasted really gross!

We also split the Crab Cakes which has a Green papaya and Remoulade sauce.
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn148.jpg
Those were amazing!

For my entree I had the Steamed Whole Maine Lobster which comes with potato gratin and steamed baby broccoli.
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn149.jpg
Omg this was amazing! I ate every last bite of lobster! I wasn't a big fan of the potatoes and I didn't try the broccoli I was so full afterwards!

My parents both got the Surf and Turf which is twin medallions of filet mignon, butter poached lobster tail, potato gratin, and choron sauce.
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn150.jpg
They both loved this and are planning on going back for more in September when they go to WDW

Now we were all stuffed from all the good food but I had a surprise waiting for me!

http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn152.jpg

This was amazing! The Mickey is all white chocolate and tasted delicious although I felt weird eating Mickey Mouse  and the strawberries were soo yummy!

We ended up not finishing the Mickey so we got a box for it and brought it home with us! My boyfriend loved it too :lmao:

OOP: $202 *including Mickey and my dad's drink $262

My DD loves to order the Tinkerbell twist on our trips, but can usually only drink about 1/3 of it. I think it's just too sour, so we usually throw most of it away. I let her order it, though, because it's become sort of a tradition, I guess. Ordering and throwing away a Tink Twist!

We love eating at Mama Melrose's & this past trip in May we ate at Tutto & LOVED it. I highly recommend it!! They have very cute waiters!!!:lmao: Ours was young & adorable & oh yeah the food was good too!!:thumbsup2
The food was good and although our waiter wasn't cute there were some walking around who were ;)

OMG, Narcoosee's looks SOOOO good. My stomach just started growling at me looking at those pics.

My DD loves to order the Tinkerbell twist on our trips, but can usually only drink about 1/3 of it. I think it's just too sour, so we usually throw most of it away. I let her order it, though, because it's become sort of a tradition, I guess. Ordering and throwing away a Tink Twist!

I can't wait to see your WORST meal. The BEST certainly didn't disappoint!!
Narcoosee's was definitely amazing and I would recommend it to everyone! maybe she is working up to one day being able to finish it off :thumbsup2 The worst I think will surprise some of the people who have stayed at the hotel where we ate.....

Subbing, now to go back to the beginning. Looking forward to your report, I just made our ADR's last week and I am really getting excited. :)
Thank you!

Hi, this is Dawn-PrincessCaitlin's mom! I ordered the glass slipper dessert and the Mickey & strawberries directly from the Grand Floridian. I know you can get the Mickey & strawberries at other places though, by calling the cake hotline. The special desserts were adorable and yummy and make a fun suprise too!

We had been on our way to Epcot but my parents didn't feel like eating outside so we stopped at the Contemporary to see what their CS had to offer

One thing I find so cool about the deluxes is the touch screen ordering you do in their cafeterias!

My mom ordered the Smoked Turkey BLT but didn't want the lime cilantro aioli on it so all we had to do was tell a CM and they took care of it. (The touch screens don't allow you to make special orders like that)
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn157.jpg
She thought it was very good!

My dad ordered some apple sandwhich that had actual apple slices on it and the dressing was apple butter
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn158.jpg
He enjoyed his as well!

For dessert they had probably the best cupcakes on site! My dad had the Carmel Dos Leches which had carmel in the center and my mom had the Black Forest which had cherries in the middle!
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn156.jpg
Both were extremely good!

OOP: 22
DDP: 2 counter service meals
Grade: A
Comments: The cafeteria set up was very cute and it was in a nice location near the monorail tracks. They also had the best pickles!!!!!

After leaving Epcot we went back to DHS and since it was frying that day we needed something to cool us off!

Their choices
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn159.jpg

My dad had the Red Hero
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn161.jpg

I had the Banana and Strawberry Fanta slushie
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn162.jpg
It was very good if you know what a banana Runt tastes like that is exactly how the banana slushie tasted!

OOP: 17
DDP: 1 snack credit
Grade: A
Comments: the slushie was very good and nothing at all like the tinkerbell slush!

Next up: My last posting and our worst meal ever!

I'm really late in the game here but I really enjoyed your Dining Review. It's great to see someone enjoy food as much as me! I have found that the resorts do much better than the parks at CS lunches. I see DHS is as dissapointing as usual. I see I missed out on many of the (ahem) adult beverages on my last trip but liquor, high temps and spinning rides are a bit much. Still looks super yummy and I love the desserts. Was that a special request for the plate at 1900?

Anyway keep up the great work and inspire the rest of us flavor junkies!

Better late than never! I really want to try and eat at more of the resorts next time around. We really enjoyed our dinners at the resorts the most! The plate at 1900 park fare was a special request my parents called the bakery at the Grand Floridian. Thank you!

I just finished reading your tr loved it. My husband even liked reading the review on the food. We head back in Jan and I cant wait to try a few new resturants. We were able to get in to cape may cafe and that was our first breakfast to start off our vacation. I decided after reading your tr i decided that we just had to eat there. We LOVED it. The characters were great and our waitress was wonderful. Thanks Great job

Hi Everyone this is Princess Caitlin's mom again! Earlier in the week I mentioned on here that on Saturday she would be participating in our community's annual beauty pageant. Well she won! :cool1: Princess Caitlin is now officially a Princess and she has the tiara to prove it! :rotfl: She also won a very nice scholarship! Since so many of you have been so complimentary to her I just had to share the news with her Dis friends! I will have her post some pics when she gets up so you can see just how beautiful she looked! :cheer2:

Before I start my last posting :sad1: I just wanted to thank you all for reading along and hopefully I helped some of you with your vacation plans :)

Now onto our worst meal at WDW :scared:

I had heard about zebra domes on every dining review I had read so I knew I had to try them out!

We went over to the Animal Kingdom Lodge and went to their quick service the Mara

The cafeteria is cute I like the set up a lot and they give you pagers for when your food is ready

I chose the Vegetable Flatbread which had olives, cheese and pesto on it.
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn164.jpg
It was disgusting!!!!!! :scared: I usually love olives but these tasted weirdly sweet and it was just gross. Looking at the picture now I think even the flatbread itself looks gross!

My Dad chose the African Stew since my Mom had read good things about it on the DIS
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn165.jpg
He thought that was disgusting too! :scared: The stew was also weirdly sweet and he just didn't like it at all!

For dessert my Dad got carrots and celery to share with my Mom and I got the Zebra Domes
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/dawnbu40/food%20porn/foodporn163.jpg
At least those were good! I really enjoyed the zebra domes and they have sort of a sweet coffee taste to them!

OOP: $20
DDP: 2 counter service meals
Grade: D (doesn't get an E because the zebra domes were really good!)
Comments: It was pretty gross and unless you like your food sweet I don't think anyone would enjoy it!

Also I really enjoyed having the DDP and it saved us over a $100 and that doesn't include all of the snacks we got! If you and your family plan on doing a lot of sit down restaurants I would definitely look into the DDP!

Thank you all for reading!

Congrats on the beauty pageant.

But I'm surprised about The Mara.
We ate their during our last trip (trip report coming) and we enjoyed it.
We ordered items like falafel, fried shrimp, and mac and cheese and were pleased.
I especially liked the falafel platter.
Granted, the meal wasn't anything fancy, but it was a nice to-go meal (we ate it on the drive home).

For lunch I had spotted a sushi bar at the Poly when we went to Ohana the other night so me being a big sushi fan I just had to try it!

Unfortunately the sushi bar wasn't open but they sell sushi in Captain Cook's!

I had the spicy shrimp roll and for dessert I had a cupcake

It was soo good definitely one of my favorite lunches!

Comments: If you like sushi you should definitely visit Captain Cook's or the Kona Island Sushi Bar!

Next up: What my parents had for lunch and what my dad had to drink at DHS!

CONGRATULATIONS! And you look beautiful in that gown!

Question about the sushi at Capt Cooks - am I understanding correctly that it was $16 if you paid OOP and it actually was allowed as a CS meal? MAN if that's the case my DH is going to be upset. (We can't get the dining plan b/c of the deal we got at the Poly) Just wanted to see if I'm understanding it right! Yikes!
