My recovery wouldn't be what it has been without the Magic of Disneyland. At the age of 24 I have been dealing with Hip Dysplasia and chronic hip dislocations. After finishing school, I worked full time as an EMT when the symptoms started. I went from being an active 24 year old, to barely being able to walk or do simple things such as getting dressed without dislocating my hips.
I have undergone 13 reconstructive surgeries to correct the dysplasia BUT have incorporated trips to Disneyland after each :)
Dealt with the mental roller coaster of the long recovery associated with pain management and being severely injured but I managed to stay positive and look towards the future with the big help of my friends at Disneyland.
With my last big reconstructive surgery, 4 days after my discharge from the hospital, I flew down to CA where Disneyland. I had to be carried to and from the aircraft and ended up being in an electric wheelchair the entire trip. I stuck to all the basic rides BUT what I did do, was enjoy that feeling of Disney :grouphug:
I will post pictures when I get a chance :goodvibes
