Barb, I saw in an earlier post that you take you CC card with you. Do you have to show it to get into the return cruiser party or to check in? I hadn't thought about taking this, and in fact I am not sure where i put it. will i need it for anything?

Any info or advice is greatly appreciated.

Barb should have a PLATINUM Castaway Club card! ;)

I have no idea where mine is I got it so long ago, and you don't need it for anything as long as it's noted on your initial reservation that you are a Castaway Club member. That will get you all the benefits to which you are entitled. :D

even though my next cruise is the 99 dollar cruise, will i still get invited to the reception, and have the gift in the room?

thanx for the info.

I bring the card just in case there is any problem with not getting our CC stateroom credit. We haven't had any problems lately, but long ago we did. Being the anal over-planner that I am, I bring it with now "just in case."
You probably won't need it for anything...the CC party invite will be delivered to your room, so you don't need the card for that.
LOL, Michelle!! I remember several trips ago, when we saw Cruise Director Rick at the CC party, and I asked him if he had my Platinum card. At the time, he didn't know who we were and he took me seriosuly...he thought he was supposed to have something for me! It was so funny...poor Rick was all worried that he'd forgotten something! Now he knows us well and knows how crazy we are...can't wait to see him again in July.

i better dig it out, as I made our reservation the week after we got home on our first cruise, and I didn't have the membership number then. I am doubting that we get a shipboard credit, and am not expecting it, but I hope to get the return gift and the private party invite.

thanx for the info.

I don't think my sister mentioned that we were cc mbs. when she booked our next cruise. Should we notify them now? We won't get any credits, but it would be nice to get a gift in the cabin when we get there.
thanks, donna

Yes, definitely have your CC membership noted on your reservation now! That is the ONLY way to assure you will have your gift in your stateroom and your invitation to the Castaway Club reception. :D You don't need to know the number, DCL can look it up for you if you don't remember it.

We cruised in March 2001 and sent back the form to register as a CC member.

I have never heard anything since nor received anything in the mail. Should I have?

If so, can someone give me a phone number or mailing address to contact them. As I recall, they are in Celebration, FL.

Thanks.

BTW - now possibly planning a family reunion cruise for October!

How do you get a PLATINUM Castaway Club card? Mine is just a regular one.

Mojomanny:

You should call. We cruised for the first time in April and we just received ours.

Good luck.

Hmmm......... I think there is some decoder that Disney uses on the CC thing.

We are DVC members (maybe that's what the issue is). We never heard abouth the CC until we filled out the survey at the end of our first cruise. When I asked they told me that it would take 6-12 weeks and I would get a card and gift in the mail.

Well, its been a year and I have made over 12 phone calls and we received nothing. When I was viewing the credits CC was offering, I called.

They had me down for nothing but said I had a membership number. They instantly gave me a credit for this trip next week.

This is one area that is handled poorly. If they are going to offer this incentive, then they shouldn't have such poor follow through. I am bringing my cc number with me, 'cause you just can't trust that this won't fall through the cracks like all the other promises they told us this past year.

Anyhow, I am glad that I stuck with it and am receiving a credit. Maybe because I am a Disney Club Card and DVC member, they feel that I am not entitled, but then they should stipulate this.

JMHO! L :(

We misplaced our card and called yesterday to get a new one sent. The phone number is 1-800-449-3380. Sorry I have no info on the address. Patty:earsgirl:

Thanks for posting the phone number. It reminded me again that I STILL had not received any info after making several calls. I did call today, and got my CC# and made sure it was noted for our 11/02 cruise. Don't want to miss out on any perks!

I'm still curious as to what's the difference between the PLATINUM Castaway Club card and the regular one that I received after my 2001 cruise? Does the PLATINUM give any additional perks?

I don't think there is a platinum card. The other poster said Barb should get one because of the number of disney cruises she has taken. I think this was meant to be a light hearted joke, and not to let people think that there really is a platinum card...

We are DVC members too and as my above posts states, it took from April until last Friday for us to get our cards. We paid for the entire trip with points.

Now this may seem like a dumb question, but now that we have taken a Disney cruise, do they automatically send us cards? How do I get mine??????

DCL automatically sent ours shortly after our first cruise in 6/2001.

I don't remember but I may have answered a questionaire first - anyhow it was very painless to get the card.

By others posts - alot of people are having trouble getting theirs.
