It should be flown at half staff tomorrow.....

NOW, THEREFORE, I, BARACK OBAMA, President of the United States of America, do hereby proclaim May 15, 2009, as Peace Officers Memorial Day.

I further encourage all Americans to display the flag at half staff from their homes and businesses on that day.

Agreed. The brave men and women in law enforcement are, for the most part, heroes, and do not get enough recognition as such. They do such a dangerous job protecting all of us, yet are viewed with scorn by so many.

On our way to Virginia via car and some are half staff and some are not. Nice to see when they are.

Long overdue memorial for people who do a thankless job, and all too often lose their lives in the doing. :(

And who get called "pigs" for doing it. :sad2:

It really chaps my rear that certain groups of people talk the talk about the troops et all, but cant walk the walk when it comes to things like this!

I lower my flag every Memorial Day till noon, to pay respect for those who have given the ultimate for our country!

But yet every year, I will drive by that Chicken place that leans to the right, or the Big Blue Barn.....and there is old glory, flying at full staff!

UGH! :sad2:

(This is not a political comment, its a patriotic one!) :thumbsup2

Yep. I'm with you O'Mike and Rob on both counts.

It seems that all too often, folks who like to trumpet don't do the simple things that do mean so much.

I'm not that patriotic. I'm more of a "the world is my country" type, but these are human beings who fought (whether in the military or on the combat zones of our streets) and died for the safety of others.

One of those "no excuses" sorts of things, eh? OOooooooOOOOoooo! Am I being intolerant?
