Well I finally decided to start a pre wish trip report as our wish is finally on its way to being granted. I will start by introducing everyone.
:cutie:ME(Shardai, 21) I am the mom to a beautiful little girl and will be the maitre'd of this trip report.
princess:Wish child(Mya, 2) Mya was born on October 27, 2006. The moment I saw her I knew my life had changed for the better. She was declared a perfectly healthy little girl and I saw only happiness and laughter in our future. She grew from babyhood into a smart and adorable toddler. Mya never missed her doctor's appointments and was up to date on all her shots. I never foresaw what would happen next.
Late August of her 2008 in her 22nd month I recieved a frantic call from her grandmother. She had found a lump on her groin while giving her a bath. I didn't really think much of it untill I saw her the next day. The lump had appeared out of nowhere and I knew something was wrong. I took her to St. Christophers hospital the next day and by that time a second lump had started growing right next to the first one. An E.R physician felt her lump and declared it a swollen lymphnode most likely due to a bacterial infection. Now I had a feeling this was not the case. Mya had had no symptoms of a bacterial infection. I took the antibiotic prescription and left. I took her to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia the next day and after running some scans also declared it a swollen lymphnode due to a bacterial infection.
By this time I was getting frustrated. :sad2: I knew these antibiotics would not work because she did not have a bacterial infection. As the days passed the lump would get bigger and bigger. Five days after taking the antibiotics mya woke up at 12 am screaming bloody murder. I couldn't calm her down and laying her down caused her physical pain. I got ready to take her to the hospital because I noticed that she was walking with a limp like she was sixty years old instead of almost two and she would only sit down resting on her knees. My mom told me to take her in the morning. She finally calmed down but she woke up screaming at 4 am again and when I changed her she had two deep red gashes running down her privates. I left work early that day to take her to the hospital.
The E.R doctors still believed that she had a bacterial infection and I had to beg them to admit her. They finally agreed and Mya spent a week on four different antibiotics while the lumps in her groin kept growing. Finally when a third lump appeared in her neck, they decided to do a biopsy. On September the fifth I found out that my precious child had cancer. On September the Eighth I found out that she had a rare cancer called Sacrococcygeal Endodermal Sinus Tumor. Only 1 child in a million gets it per year. Mya went through 4 rounds of chemotherapy and surgery where she was declared no evidence of disease. Amonth later she relapsed. Now we are in the last round of chemo and uncertain of what we will do next.
Mya's social worker sent in the application to Make A Wish and I recieved a call on Tuesday to set up the initial visit. Mya's wish is to go to Disney World. :cheer2:

Mya has been entranced with Disney since the day she met Minnie at the hospital. Everytime I play the brochure DVD, her eyes light up and she gets all excited. She reminds me of the little boy in the commercial who packs months in advance to go to Disney. I show her the pics on the DIS boards and she asks me a million questions each time. Mya has a hearing loss in both ears due to the chemo she has gotten and at one point had a hard time communicating, she still does sometimes. Yet she immediately learned the sign for Disney and now tells me all the time I wanna go to Disney. So when the time came to make her wish, I undoubtedly knew what it was going to be.

I have one more question for you guys...
Is it just the two of you going on the trip or do you guys get to bring another family member or friend?

I was going to expliain that part in my next post, we do get to bring atleast one other person with us since its only the two of us and I do not drive. The problem is I had no idea who to take but now I narrowed it down to two scenarios. Either I will take Myas paternal grandmother or I will take my mom and try to get approval for my sister also. If my mom and sister go, my sister would have to bring my niece who only just turned one and is completely free and I dont know if make a wish will pay for both of them. On the other hand I do not want to go with just my mom as we do not always get along and the last thing I need is stress on Mya's special trip. So I really don't know who to take with us.

Hmm...That sounds like a tough and loaded question!
I wonder if you could find out from the wish folks if your sister would be approved and then decide? :confused3
Either way, I hope something somehow makes the decision easier for you guys!

I hope so to. We are looking at July and August as she is getting her last round of chemo and radiation or surgery should be over.

She is really adorable. Everyone falls in love with her from the moment they meet her. I can't wait to find out more either. I have been excited about this trip since finding out that she qualifies for a wish.

I must say that your daughter is just precious. And I love the name, and I am not just saying that because I also have a Princess Mia (short for Ameliya). OK, maybe just a little.:rotfl:
I am so glad that you stuck in there insisting that the hospital admite her. I realy wish doctors would trust the parents more, they see them for a couple of minutes and see what symptoms are occuring at that moment. We are with them all the time and know our children. I had to fight with my sons peditrician to get the diagnosis and still seems to be in denial. Good thing he isn't the one treating him.:thumbsup2
I am so glad that your daughter's wish is to go to Disney World. I am sure you will have a wonderful time and I hope you will be able to work with MaW to get your mom and sister to come along.
Keep us updated!!!

Mya's meeting with her fairies was supposed to be on May 21st at 6 pm. Unfortunately we are in the midst of a long hospital stay and we are looking at the 22nd of March as a discharge date. I called her fairies and left a message asking if they could come to the hospital and am waiting for them to call me back. If they cannot, we will have to reschedule the meeting.

Thankyou for all of these nice comments. I amm equally as anxious to get this pre trip on the road and start planning. Her meet with the fairies will not be untill the first week of June now.:sad2: But I am still hopefull that we may be able to take her wish trip this summer. I have decided to take my mom along as she drives and I am still not sure about my sister.
Great News!!!! Our family has been picked to be apart of the Big Give!!!!!!!!!!!!:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:
I am very excited and grateful to be aprt of this wonderful event. Last but not least I am trying to find a good travel list of things we need to take and I am trying to find out where to find some croc shoes. Also, how did anyone manage to make ADR's in the little bit of time that they got?

Wish Trip ADR's can be complicated...
But they can be done. It involves a lot of phone calls...depending on how many and where you guys want to eat.
Most wish families are able to get some ADR's or work it out so that they can eat some special meals.
Are you guys going to be staying at Give Kids the World? Do you know yet?

Yesterday was Mya's first visit with her wish fairies!!!! She wouldn't tell them what her wish was but when I sowed her the picture of Mickey, she screamed Mickey's name and started to laugh and giggle about disney. They immediately knew her wish was for disney. They started the paperwork and our next call will be dates and more info about our wish trip. Also we are able to take one other person with us. Our prospective dates is in either September or October

Unfortunately I was given bad news on Saturday that might affect our wish trip. Mya was scheduled to start her last round of chemo on Friday but before she was able to start she had to have a chest Xray. Saturday her oncologist came to talk to me and told me her AFP had risen to 37 which is the hormone her tumor secretes. Normally it should be below 7 so Mya's Afp means her tumor is starting to grow again.:scared1: Now we are discussing what course of treatment to take next but we are reaching the end of our options and unfortunately the odds of Mya of beating her Cancer is very slim right now but there is still a chance. So her doctor has advised us to take her wish trip in July instead of waiting untill October. I have to talk to her wish coordinater/fairies tommorrow. Do you think they will be able to move her up due to her situation? Please keep Mya in your prayers that she will still make a full recovery.

I spoke to Mya's Wish Fairy today and told him about our situation and gave him the Doctor's reccomendation on the dates so our preofficial (I don't think that is word but...;)) dates are July 13 - July 19. He has to run it by the office and will call me to see if the dates gets approved. Keep your fingers crossed for us that we will be leaving soon for Disney.:cloud9::cloud9:
P.S: I want to thank everyone for the kind words both on this thread and on the wish trippers thread. It means so much to me as I go through these dark days. So I went on the Disney's dining reservation site expecting everything to be completely booked and was pleasently surprised that I was able to make three ADR's. Two of them were my top choices. I was able to make ADR's for Garden Grill for 7;15 pm, Crystal Palace for 12;55 pm, and 'Ohana for 8;15 pm. I was hoping and praying for a miricle for CRT but of course everything is all booked. I also have a rough plan made up of the activities we will do while down there.
July 17
Arrive in Floridai
Go to Walmart
Stay and relax at GKTW
July 18
Epcot
ADR at Garden Grill
July 19
Magic Kingdom
ADR at Crystal Palace
July 20
Morning: Animal Kingdom
Afternoon: GKTW
ADR: 'Ohana
July 21
Morning:DHS
Afternoon: GKTW
July 22
Morning: US/IOA
Afternoon: GKTW
July 23
Morning: DTD
Airport:sad1:
My main thing is to allow Mya alot of downtime during the hotter parts of the day and just let her enjoy the attractions catered to her age group. I want to make sure this Wish Trip is structured according to her likes and needs but I am going to sneak in some things I want to do.:rolleyes1
P.S: The tripgoers are Mya, myself, and my Mom aka Nana.

Your plans look great...with one major issues...maybe? You have 4 days where you are going to Disney Parks...they only give you enough tickets for three days at GKTW...so you will have to pay for that extra day. That may not be a huge deal to you guys, but it is going to be about $75 per ticket or close to that...if you do 4 days in the Disney parks....
I am sorry...I feel like that may be bad news...I know you want to spread it out and take it easy. I wish Disney offered more days.
And I am working on CRT for you...I have a few irons in the fire to help with that ressie.

It's funny, I was just going over my plans and I was thinking of getting rid of our DHS day since they don't really have anything that Mya is really interested in. Though I didn't know only three days worth of tickets for Disney, so thank's Maroo. Again I feel as if I would be lost without this board and the great people that make up this board. When I read your post about wanting to help with the CRT ressies I literally cried. Its like this trip coming together like this is God sent.

I'm so sorry to hear the news about Mya. We will be praying for her.
I'm glad that you got your dates pushed up. Keep checking in the wish trippers thread. I'm sure you will get tons of tips to help you guys get through July in Disney.
One thing about your schedule.....
Does Mya watch any playhouse Disney shows? There is a show (about 20 minutes) at DHS that she might like... the Playhouse Disney show. Also there is Beauty and the Beast at DHS and and silly as it might sound- the Honey I Shrunk the Kids play ground. My DD loves that playground. The first time she played there she was 2. The next trip to Disney she kept asking us when we were going to that playground. LOL
I know you made a ressie at Garden Grill but there isn't a whole lot for kids (especially 2yr olds) to do at Epcot. Although if you walk through the world showcase there are characters in almost every country. Plus my daughter loved Spaceship Earth and the Kidcot stops on our last trip. I'm not trying to bash your plans but if I only had 3 days in the parks (with a 2yr old) I might skip Epcot.

I have another thought... or two
Friday, July 17 - Pirate and Princess Party at GKTW that night, you should already be there for that. What time do you arrive? Hopefully you can catch the afternoon orientation.
On Sunday July 19th...There is the Candyland Party - it is an awesome party on a great playground and perfect for Mya's age...she will love that playground.
As far as which park...MK will be the best, best for her age and you may find you need a day and a half, especially if you spend time eating, etc...maybe even 2 full days.
I know you guys are going to have issues with the heat...because it will be hot...but I am wondering if you could go as early as you can (there are activities at GKTW that you won't want to miss even for park time) and then maybe rest in the Wish Room (at MK) or the Seimens Lounge (Epcot) or First Aid (any other park)... Also, there are shows and things that are inside...most of the lines are also sort of covered...
I am going to work on a list of good afternoon hot activities for each park and see if I can get that ready by the time you go. Or see if someone on the DIS has already made a list...

Mya never watches Playhouse Disney. She is just not interested in it. Her heart belongs to Nick Jr. and Dora. Ironically though she likes watching Phineas and Ferb, Hannah Montana, and the shows geared to the older children. As for the shows at DHS, Mya hates anything that involves sitting for long periods of time as she is a highly active two year old. The two times I have taken her to the movies, she had to have a aisle to herself so she can run up and down while watching the movie. As for the playground at DHS, when we go on our trip Mya will most likely have a weakened immune system from her last round of chemo and her red blood and platelet counts might be low at the time. So playgrounds are really out of the question. Therefore DHS really has nothing that will interest Mya. Epcot on the othe other hand has the various Nemo attractions, Journey into Imagination, and the World Pavillin offers natural settings where she can run around. So I am going to switch DHS with SeaWorld. That was the only park my mom wanted to do and I previously told her no as there was no way to cram that in. But now we will be able too. My main goal is to go down there and relax. Seeing every park and everything is just not a priority. I pray that one day I will be able to take Mya back there and we will be able to do whatever we missed this trip.

We are definitly doing all of the GKTW activities except for Mayor Clayton's B-Day party. I plan to deal with the heat by doing the parks in the morning and then go back to GKTW in the afternoon to let Mya and relax. On our MK day, I had planned to utilize the Wish lounge for Mya to cool down and nap, so we can spend more time in that park. I don't really want the Crystal Palace ressie, I only booked it because CRT was not available. So if you can get us in CRT, I will cancel Crystal Palace. I will really appreciate that hot afternoon activity list though.
I think I would leave out DHS if I had to leave out a park. But I really like epcot! ;) We went to DW when my DD was 2 and when she was 3 and she really enjoyed epcot. One thing you can do in epcot on hot afternoons is hang out in the Living Seas area. You can do the Nemo ride, Turtle Talk with Crush, and hang out indoors looking at all the sea life in the aquariums. My kids love the character meets at World Showcase, the yummy snacks around there, and the kidcot stations.
that's nice

I hear ya!!!!
I know there is fun stuff to see at Epcot. As a PP said Turtle Talk with Crush is awesome, and Finding Nemo will be soooo nice on a hot summer day. Also Mya might like the Gran Fiesta tour in Mexico, and Living with the Land. I know what you mean about staying away from playgrounds. For over a year we kept our DD away from playgrounds, grocery stores, malls, and just people in general. We had a strict visiting policy that I'm sure our family thought we might be nuts. But it was for the health of our DD. I hope you realize I was just making a suggestion. :goodvibes

OK! I will take ANY CRT ressie that I can find for your dates... But are you still thinking you will do Disney parks on the 18th, 19th and 20th?
I do think you guys would like Crystal Palace, too...if you are able to keep both ressies? If she likes those characters.
I have posted a request for hot afternoon activities that will hopefully help you plan some.

Our days for Disney will be on the 18, 19, and 20th. The only reason why I dont want to keep CP is because I really don't want Mya in the parks during the hot late afternoons but I will consider taking your advice. It all depends on how Mya's counts are doing.

That makes perfect sense!
Are you taking a stroller for her? That has a shade thing? (What do you call those things?)
And do you guys have a mister fan?
Crystal Palace is in the front of MK and it is, of course, air conditioned and away from the elements. Then maybe you could duck out after lunch...if you decide to even go to CP.
Honestly...no matter what any of us suggest...you know Mya best and what will work for you guys...go with your gut!
And don't feel bad AT ALL if you are not able to keep a reservation.
Would you rather do CP for breakfast instead? If we could get a breakfast ressie? Those are hard to get, too...but I can try for that at the same time I am calling for CRT. :confused3

I would love a ressie for breakfast at CP, but you are right they are very hard to get. If you can get that it would be great. I am planning to rent a stroller from a stroller renting company or bring our own one from home. The mister fan is also at the top of my packing list. Do you know where I can get some Crocs for the adults?

I usually get mine at a sporting goods store. Here in MS we have several, but I have seen them at Sports Authority and Bass Pro Shop. But I don't know if you guys have those stores up there? Most of the discount stores (WalMart, Target) have fake crocs, but that is not what you want...you want to pay the extra for the real thing in this case. :thumbsup2 That extra cushion makes a big difference!

Good thing you told me this because I was seriously considering going to Walmart for them. The nurse at Mya's hospital told me that she got her online at crocs.com. If Modells doesn't have them I'll prob go there.

Your PTR is so very touching! You seem like a great mother and Mya is lucky to have such a caring person in her life through this tough time. I will keep you both in my prayers!
Just a quick thought of mine, when i get really hot in EPCOT, one place thats great to go is the aquariums in the Living Seas, above the Nemo ride. They are air conditioned and have lots of fish, sea turtles, manatees etc, to look at. Most of all no matter what you do you will have a great time being in Disney with your daughter!:cloud9:

We have a change in Adr's. The great and wonderful Maroo was able to get us CRT!!!:cool1::cool1: The ressie is for July 18, 11:50 am. So I cancelled our ressies to Crystal Palace and switched the Garden Grill ressie to the 19th. Which works out better since the Sunday ADR is for an earlier time. We also got our flight confirmation in the mail and the confirmation hat we are staying at GKTW. Our departing flight is July 17 at 9:55 am and we will land in Orlando at 12:35 pm. Our return flight is leaving July 23 at 5:00 pm and lands in Philadelphia at 9:00 pm. I wanted to start our trip early and leave late so these plans worked out perfectly. Also I just want to say if I had never joined this thread, Mya's wish would have been special but nothing compared to what is happening and I am overwhelmed by all the kindness showed to us. I get so excited everytime I think of the fun Mya will have on this trip. I will not be posting or be on this site for the next 6 days because tommorrow Mya and I are going to Camp Sunshine in Maine. I will check this site and post pics of any packages we may get when we return.

Hooray for Maroo! It seems that she is always surrounded by magic, but I think that is really the magic she makes by being the special person she is. How wonderful that you have the CRT ADRs you wished for.
Have a wonderful time at Camp Sunshine! Although we are from Canada, our own Wish Granter volunteers there in the summer. Perhaps Shelley will be there when you are!

I am writing from an emergency room in Maine. Yesterday afternoon I was watching my sisters three children and in the midst of them playing, my 5 year old nephew had pushed Mya down a pair of concrete steps. Thus busting her lip on the inside and out. Now up untill then Mya has had no fever problems but that night she got a temp of 99.9. So I was freaking out because I thought we weren't going to be able to go to Camp Sunshine. When I called her doctor, however I was told not to worry about it as it is not a true fever. This morning Mya woke up with a normel temp, so I thought we would be okay. Lo and behold while we were en route to Maine, she started feeling hot and not acting herself but an hour later she would be cool again. When we arrived at camp she spent three hours playing and running around energetically. At 8:00, I checked her temp and it was normal. At 8:15 I checked again and it was 101.5. So the doctor was called and we were sent to the emergency room. Now we are waiting to see if they are going to keep her and transfer her to CHOP or give her antibiotics and send her back to camp. The moral of this story is to never watch your sister's kids when: a) your child is on active treatment and b) you are leaving the next day to get a break from the hospital world.:sad2:

On Mya's chest x-ray scans, they found what they think is a small spot of pneumonia. She us being admitted but they haven't made the decision on Camp Sunshine yet, but I think that dream is pretty much over. Most likely we will stay in the hospital untill she is transfered back to Philadelphia.

Mya wanted to play with the toys and wear her clothes now but I explained they were for her Disney trip. Now she is going around the hospital saying she wants to go to Mickey's house!:rotfl2: I took pics of her but she wasn't really in the mood so I'm afraid she looks a little mad but she absolutely loved her presents. Also thankyou Stephanie for the purse withh treasures, it is absolutely adorable. The card sent by Eeyore's Butterfly with all the character's sigs on it was a big hit too, she showed everybody in the hospital Mickey's special card he sent her.

So much that she gave me a very nasty face when I had her pose with the dress on that another Diser sent ( I don't know thier dis name and thier first name was initialed on the package). We recieved two more packages today from Sarah and Lisa and they were abolutely adorable!! Both outfits had her favorite character on it. She is a tinkerbelle fanatic but doesn't know she is at Disney yet. She also did better with the poses since she was discharged from the hospital, so her full personality comes out in these pics.

So when I finished posting the last pics, my aunt noticed another package. It was from gcast1. It was at 12 am and yes Mya was still up. :confused3 gcast1 sent us a card, a keychain, and Mya a Dora hat, and twenty dollars worth of Disney Dollars. Mya was extra excited about the hat and I was touched by the disney money but of course Mya was too tired to really get in the spirit of picture taking. I mean it was only 12 am!! :rotfl2: Pics were eventually taken and Mya eventually went to bed an hour later.

My cousin gave me yet another package that we overlooked. Not on purpose. We're just really busy with hospital stays and rarely home. This one was from Danyl. It was the most adorable stuffed minnie mouse. Mya's other cousin helped her open the package and she embraced it in a hug. Unortunately I have no pics of the love fest, as two yearolds are impossible to take pictures of.

Mya liked it too and knew almost all the characters that were in the book. The night light sent by Deborah was just what we needed. Mya still does not like sleeping in total darkness. Mya also recieved a beach ball, some pool toys, and a coloring book from Deborah. Lasly, she recieved a card from jenbl023.

Is it a bad thing that our trip is only 17 days away and I have yet to start packing? I have an idea of what we are taking but I just haven't packed it yet. I'll probably wait till the night before and throw everything in a suitcase. :lmao: I hav'nt even shopped for anything yet. I know I should get the ball rolling but I don't want to get excited untill we get closer to the trip date. This way I'll know for sure that we are going before I get super happy.

We are oficially in countdown mode! :cheer2::cheer2: No I haven't even considered packing yet but the idea is slowly taking root in my head. Yesterday Mya met with her wish fairies and was presented with a MAW bookbag full of toys and a MAW shirt. I was given a folder with our flight confirmation, give kids the world directions, and our good old expense check. So where are the pics you ask? Well during this whole display our little sleeping beauty was fast asleep. So I was given the things and our fairies left. Today, at Mya's onco appointment, it was discovered that her counts were way down. Unfortunately she needed a platelet and red blood transfusion today. Fortunately she will not get chemo before leaving for Disney, sooo hopefully no hospitalizations!!! We are that much closer to her wish trip. :woohoo::yay::banana:

We were able to do the transfusions outpatient because her hospital has an onco day hospital just for transfusions and chemo. I am freaking out about her low counts and doing the no fever meditation 24/7 but her doc isn't that worried about it. So why am I going disinfectant/sanitizer crazy? Hopefully Mya's counts will improve past 300 next week. It will mean the difference between a hospital stay or a few hours in the E.R if she gets a fever. Needless to say I am keeping her away from all wild children aka her cousins and the general population as much as possible.

This just totally made me cry. Every thing sent to Mya is sent with lots of love for a wonderful little girl! It brings so much joy to those involved in the Big Give just to put a smile on the face of a child that has had to go through so much in their little life. We got more Big Give packages and boy were these packages breathtakingly beautiful. They were sent by Maroo and Mrs. Miller. Maroo sent us wonderful custom made wish trip shirts. Mrs. Miller sent Mya a beautiful sleeping beauty dress that literally made me cry when Mya tried it on. She immediately transformed into a princess before my eyes and she kept saying pretty when she had it on. Mrs. Miller also sent a spongebob jumper, a princess dress, two greatly appreciated kiddie toothbrushes, an activity book, and a card that Mya seriously thought she could read. :confused3 I loved all the stuff Mya recieved and am now wondering how I can get all these cute outfits worn on trip. I know the previous pics have been a little on the dark side so I changed the spot where I take the pics to one with better lighting. Hopefully this will make a difference in the quality of the pictures.

Exactly, she has so many cute things to wear that I don't know where to start when it comes to outfit planning.

Yesterday Mya, myself, my Mom, my sister, and Mya's cousins went to a very special place. Though it was not Disney affiliated, it was very important. This day would decide whether Mya was really ready for Disney World or not.So where did we take her? Well maybe this picture will give you a clue.
http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o30/tadiasha/071009173827_01.jpg
That's right we went to Seseme Place and Mya had a blast. She is definitly ready for the World. Mya rode on every single ride in Elmo's world, even the ones that her bigger cousin's were scared to ride! The Disboards have really rubbed off on me because I of course had to make a plan as to how we would spend our day. It was decided, or maybe I told every one that we would start with the dry rides, finish at the waterpark, then souvenier shop for an hour. My sister didn't see why we needed a plan but it wound up working out perfectly. Noone was at the dry rides since everyone headed to the waterpark first, due to the parade and people heading to the dry rides we had the water park almost to ourselves, and we shopped when everyone came back to the waterpark. We walked untill we reached the Sunny day carousel. Only the two yougest and one older one wanted to ride but at the last minute the youngest, Azzure freaked out so I handed her back to her mom. Mya started freaking out too but I was determined that she try the ride. After the ride began she loved it and even rode on the horse. Next it was off to Flying Fish. She was the only one to ride it since the others were to scared. :rotfl: She even rode it twice, once with me and the other with Nana. Then my mom took her to two more rides while I was riding the teacups with my nephew. She was fearless, she even got on the ride that takes you up a couple of feet then drops you straight down, although she never did fully forgive my mom for that one. :rotfl2:
Next up was the water park and I soon discovered that my child is a daredevil. She was all over the place and even in the deep level unafraid. Don't worry, the pool levels at Seseme Place only go up to 2 ft. So I started teaching her how to swim and she was a natural. She learned how to kick, blow bubbles underwater, and float while I was holding her of course. So little miss actually felt she knew how to swim and the next thing I see is her diving under the water like a rock. Nevertheless scaring myself, the lifeguard, and several bystanders. :sad2: I was within reach of her the whole time and I do love the fact that she is a naturally unafraid of the water but it was still scary.
After regaining normal function of my heart we packed up to go shopping.Mya picked out two souveniers though she wanted to buy the whole store and after a quick snack decided to head out. My mom decided to take pics of the kids on the steps and this is what we got.
Can you see the tiredness?

http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o30/tadiasha/071009173718_01.jpg
After this pic Mom decided she wanted a pic of me and my sister in front of the sign so while taking the pic I see a blur out of the corner of my eye. I turn around and Ernie is sitting right there messing with my sister. Right then and there I was like one of the kids. My jaw dropped and I was so excited. Mya wasn't even scared. She went right up and said hi. Now I know she is ready for Disney. My mom got the pic of me and my sister with both characters in it. After leaving the park, we went to friendly's and the kids were so tired, they were everywhere. We were probably the family that everyone talked about afterwards. Anyway, when we got home Mya literally passed out and thats the whole point of a trip like that right? The joys of children sleeping blissfully afterwards. I wish I could say I enjoyed the time I had to myself but unfortunately I wasn't too far behind Mya.

It is alot of fun for the kids, not so much for the adults. They dont have a pool for the older ones and it gets really hot. Plus its knida small and there's only 5 rides there. So while fun for the little ones, definitly not woth driving miles and miles to.

I woke up at 5:30 in the morning after sleeping for a grand total of two hours. Didn't even need the alarm clock to wake me up, guess I was just too excited to sleep. My mom was already up also so we dressed and did last minute checks to make sure we had everything and the money got put on the card. Wait, what do you mean zero balance!! So made a quick call to our wish coordinator and my mind was put at ease. After we were sure we had everything, I was going to go wake sleeping beauty up but the spell lifted before I could give the wake up kiss. She ran to me shrieking "Mommy, I go to Mickey's House!" I told her yes today was the day. I got her dressed and she was so excited waiting for the car to arrive. Here are some pics of her waiting oh so patiently.
http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o30/tadiasha/165-1.jpg
http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o30/tadiasha/166-1.jpg
Yes, she made me wait outside untill the car arrived. After about 15 minutes of waiting, this is what we saw.

http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o30/tadiasha/170-1.jpg
We grabbed all our stuff and we were outta of there. Well first Mya had a complete meltdown about actually getting in the limo. Two year olds, they're scared of practically everything. So after a minute of nice coaxing and a couple of shoves, we were on our way.
http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o30/tadiasha/171-1.jpg
http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o30/tadiasha/172-1.jpg
We arrived at the airport around 7:30, checked in, and recieved our boarding passes.
http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o30/tadiasha/173-1.jpg
We actually got to our gate about a hour and a half early so what do you do when you have nothing else to do but wait? Take lots and lots of pics.
http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o30/tadiasha/174-1.jpg
http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o30/tadiasha/175-1.jpg
Around 9:30 we boarded and we were off to Floridai. Our flight had turbulence throughout but strangely I didn't get scared untill we landed. Mya had no problems flying thanks to my Mom who kept her occupied. The only thing she didn't like was being seatbuckled in the seat but she solved that problem soon after.
http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o30/tadiasha/176-1.jpg
http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o30/tadiasha/177-1.jpg
The flight was actually early so we landed around 12 pm. I still say the landing was the scariest ride I went on during the whole trip. The plane was bumpy and descended out of the air very fast and reckless. We walked past the security checkpoint and saw the greeter. We didn't get a pic with her but she was the nicest person and started off the week perfectly. We were led to our rental car and given the directions to the village.
http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o30/tadiasha/180-1.jpg
The directions were very easy to follow and we soon found this.
http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o30/tadiasha/0010WelcometoGiveKidsTheWorld.jpg
We were greeted in the House of Hearts by another nice volunteer where Mya was given a Mickey Mouse and then we ate lunch before seeing our villa. We ate at Katies Kitchen which is sponsored by Boston Market and followed it up with some icecream. Everything was delicious and we were stuffed when we were done. Upon arriving back at the House of Hearts, we were whisked away to our villa in a golf cart. But wait, why is there a family already in our villa? Oh, we're really supposed to be in the one next to it. No, the toilet is broken. Well where are we staying? So back to the house of hearts to see what's going on. We were given two options. We could either wait for one of the new villas to open up which might take a while or we could take one of the old villas. What do we do? We take the old one , I mean by this time I'm like Just give us a villa please. Our villa turned out to be perfect as it was right next to the pool.

Great start to your TR!!!!
I'm a baby on the plane. Every little bump and I'm freaking out. The worst was on my honeymoon. We flew from Oahu to Maui (about a 30 min flight from what I can recall) and we were bouncing around the whole time. I truly thought we were going to end up in the ocean. I might of even kissed the ground when we landed! LOL:rotfl:

I was tempted to wake up my children when I got on tonight and saw you had started your TR. They are eager to hear all about Mya's trip! :woohoo: It's amazing how much little Mya has touched people she has never even met. My kids talk about her and pray for her as if she were their buddy.
I love the pictures. What a great way to wake up - asking to go to Mickey's House. She is truly adorable! I look forward to reading more!
I am happy that she is making friends all over the world. She made so many friends with people in Florida and the village, it was amazing. This one family from Puerto Rico fell in love with her. Even though we didn't speak the same language, they became inseperable. I am also very excited about Deyki getting his wish and think its so cool that you adopted three wonderful children in need. One day I hope to adopt too. If your children want to read more about Mya they can go to her personal site at caringbridge.org/visit/myaroseharris . More in depth updates are kept there. I hope even after I finish Mya's trip report our families can keep in touch.

I just want to say that I somehow stumbled on this thread, and I've been silently following the updates for the past several weeks. I'm so glad to hear the trip was as magical as you wanted it to be. It truly brought a tear to my eye to read the journal post on the site you linked. If I am any indication, Mya has more friends than you even know. (btw I'm also from the Philly area)

Thanks you for sharing Mya's caring bridge page with us. I just finished reading it with my oldest daughter. I am so glad you had a great week at Disney after all you have been through this past year or so. Wow! You and Mya are so strong! I don't know if I posted this on Deyki's TR, but Michelle, the baby I have guardianship of, has profound hearing loss. She lost her hearing due to meningitis at 7 months old, and had cochlear implants activated in April. I have found lots of great resources for deaf and hard of hearing children that I would be happy to share with you. Michelle goes to an oral school for the deaf twice a week and is learning to listen and speak. I am sharing some of her journey on Deyki's Care Page - THELITTLEENGINETHATCOULD.
I am so glad that you feel refreshed after your trip! I can't wait to read even more about it and enjoy Mya's cheerful pics!

The picture of the 3 of you in front of the villa is so cute!! You look so happy!

Okay, Ive been gone a while due to the fact that after living a week full of fairy tales. Reality has hit hard. Mya's AFP went up to 115 so she is in her third relapse now. We are starting another chemo protocol but there is no evidence of it actually working for her cancer. If it doesn't work she will go to transplant. If her chemo shows a good effect then she will go to radiation. If she relapses again after radiation there is nothing else that can be done. We are a lomg way away from that but please continue to pray for Mya and me.

After touring our wonderful villa, we left for Walmart to get a couple of things we forgot. My mom of course wanted to buy everything that caught her eye and after explaining that she was not going to single handedly blow through Mya's wish money, was more than a little upset with me. So she said she would be back and I honestly searched the whole 2,000 square foot store looking for her. So do I find her frantically looking for me? Nope, I find her souvenier shopping with another cart filled with stuff. Now this is when I start to get upset. "Mom, no way are we getting all this stuff." "Why not?" "Because we are here for a week, not a month." So the conversation continues untill she storms off. After checking out, I am ofcourse stopped at the door when the alarm goes off and interrogated by someone who took thier job a little too seriously. By this time, I was more than ready to escape from the Walmart and was willing to let the interrogation go, but good old Mom just had to demand to speak yto the manager. I told her it wasn't nessecary but she proceeded anyway. I'm guessing the manager didn't do much because she comes out and starts screaming at the guy for the way he handled the situation. I try to tell her to calm down and leave the guy alone but then she starts screaming at me so I took Mya and went to the car. She was mad at me but I wouldn't talk to her. By the way when I emptied the cart, I found a pack of batteries that were wedged in the carts bars, so the guy wasn't wrong at all. When we got back to the village, I unpacked and dressed Myas for the pirate's and princess' party. The train picked us up and drove us to the Gingerbread House where we stopped for dinner.

Before we entered the GH we spotted Mayor Clayton. Mya wanted absolutely nothing to do with him and screamed bloody murder as soon as he came near. But the clever rabbit that he is snuck behind her so we could take a pic. After Dinner Mya started her love affair with the carousel. I lie to you not when I say she rode the carousel many nights untill they closed.

I was finally able to drag her off the carousel and we were off to the party. Walking and talking carelessly, out of nowhere a man dropped to the ground in a bow and said your majesty. Bewildered, I looked around and realized he was talking to Mya. Well she just ate it up and took his hand to be led to the makeup counter.

I would be happy to get any resources you have. Mya's hearing loss is complex. It could get worse as she gets older and not only changes what she hears but how she understands what she hears. Mya will never qualify for coclear implants no matter how bad her hearing gets because her loss only affects the higher frequencies. Mya goes to Pennsylvania School for the Deaf and for the reasons stated above is why I picked this school. They advocate the bi/bi approach.

I will post or PM you with more complete info as soon as it calms down around here. I have a 13 month old staying with us through the weekend. That brings us to 5 kids - 13 months, 17 months, 5, 7, and 10. It's very high energy!
One song we sing with Michelle is simple. It uses all the Ling sounds which covers all the frequencies. I found it online at auditory options.org. Hopefully it is okay to post it here.

Toy props: car, food item, snake, ghost or monkey, baby doll, finger to mouth to say “shhhh”
I found a great toy at KMart today for learning to listen. It's the Little Tikes Farm 3-D Memory Match Up. I am using it for the animal names and sounds and cueing her to listen.
I bet you get lots of resources from her school. I don't know how much mine will be relevant, but it may be. I will make it a goal to send to you if I can get the babies to nap at the same tiime one of these days!

Before tuning into our regular program I would like to say that thanks to the Disboards we were able to do most of the things we wanted in 3-4 hours. We were there from 9 am-12 pm. Now, back to our regular program.
We were up by 7 am, atleast I was and soon Mya and my Mom were dragging behind me. After eating breakfast in our villa, we left around 8/8:15. The directions were completely easy to follow. It was coming back that was a problem, but more on that later. It wasn't too long before we saw this.
http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o30/tadiasha/219-1.jpg
We follow the infamous blue line and find the diamond parking lot which is 5 minutes walking distance from the transportation to get into the park. The line for the monarail was insanely long. So we of course remember our disboards advice and hop on the ferry boat. Now this was ridiculous. As literally hundreds of people were waiting for the monarail, there were literally 10 families on the ferry. This is definitly the way to go.
http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o30/tadiasha/220-1.jpg
http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o30/tadiasha/221-1.jpg
http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o30/tadiasha/222-1.jpg
Battling the lines to get in weren't that bad. We just went to the far left and they were usually empty. I will say that this was supposed to be a level 8 park day but we hardly saw any people. The lines were short and even if we didn't get front of line priveliges, wouldv'e had 5 to 10 minute waits for all the rides.
http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o30/tadiasha/223-1.jpg
Before we even entered the park, we experienced the magic of Disney and it set the tone for the rest of the day. We had to get Mya's stroller as wheelchair sticker so we headed over to Guest relations. I asked the CM if we were in the right spot and instead of having us wait in line, she had us move to the side and got another CM to get her sticker. She did tell us that we had to get our first tive visitor button at city hall. Well when the other CM came out, not only did he have the sticker and buttons but he also came out with a whole roll of mickey mouse stickers. He really interacted great with Mya and proceeded to decorate her whole legs with the stickers. It was a little thing to do but it really set the tone for the day. As soon as we entered Main street, we saw all the characters in a big circle. I had heard we were not guarenteed frnt of the line for characters but I decided to try anyway. We didn't have to wait in line to see any characters the whole trip!
http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o30/tadiasha/224-1.jpg

http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o30/tadiasha/227-1.jpg
http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o30/tadiasha/229-1.jpg
She really liked the face characters but not the costumed ones. So she stayed in her stroller with Pinnochio but got out when she saw Mary Poppins. Next we headed up main sreet and had to take a pic in front of the castle.
http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o30/tadiasha/231-1.jpg
The show they have was going on so we cut through the side and went to Fanatsyland. Most people stopped for the show which made our first stop pretty empty. We first rode the many adventures of Winnie the Pooh. Mya hated this ride, she screamed and cried the whole ride. Understandably, the ride was very dark and had many unexpected twists and turns. So for the next ride I let her choose and she chose Dumbo.
http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o30/tadiasha/232-1.jpg
She loved this ride so much that she rode twice. After Dumbo she surprisingly chose the carousel. I decided to sit that ride out and my mom and her waited in line since it was so short. However while my mom and Mya was riding, the CM told us not to wait in line. Mya also rode this twice and I rode with her the second time.

http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o30/tadiasha/237-1.jpg
I went back to our list and decided to cross peter pan's flight off the list due to the obvious trauma induced by pooh. Though we did do IASW to introduce her back to enclosed moving rides. She was scared through the whole que, started to like the ride, then got bored halfway through. I was glad because this has got to be the most annoying song in the world but atleast it is airconditioned.

http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o30/tadiasha/239-1.jpg
http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o30/tadiasha/240-1.jpg
After IASW, we went to check into CRT but we were 15 minutes early so we went to Ariels Grotto so Mya could get wet then came back. While my mom was checking in, I got Mya's dress together. That is when I discovered that the mister fan had spilled and Myas outfit was damp with water. What to do? Well I thought since it was so hot outside, she could just wear and it will dry fast. So even though she was a wet princess, she was still recieved well in court.

This meal was wonderful. The interaction was great, food was great, and Mya met her favorite princesses. Cinderella, Snow White, and Aurora were her absolute favorite princesses. She didn't really care for Jasmine or Belle. I think she thought Jasmine was inproperly dressed and belle didn't have on her princess dress when she met her the first time.

After leaving CRT, we decided we were done for the day and started to head out. We had already decided to come back for a second day to do the things we had missed. On our way out we saw this.

Now as you remember Mya was seriously scared of all costumed characters and this parade was the first glimpse she would get of Mickey. How would she take it? Mya almost had a heart attack. She was screaming, waving, and I really thought she was about to burst out with tears of joy over him. Seriously, the way her face lit up was so bueatiful. I didn't take pics but I have it on video and have to figure out how to upload it. After the parade, we brought Mya and her cousins some Mouse Ears and candy and left for the village. The rest of our day was spent swimming, eating, and partying at Mayor Clayton's birthday party. These are on video too. More rides on the carousel was to be had and finally dreams of the Epcot day to come.

We all just sat and read your TR. You are making me so excited for ours! There were more oohs and aahs than I could keep track of. Mya is such a darling! I love all the pictures you included! Eagerly waiting for more!
Thanks. I tried to take alot of pics but unfortunately I lost our camera on the last day there before I could download the rest of the pics but my mom took pics with her camera and I got photopass. So hopefully that should help.

Oh what a great day at MK! I can't wait to hear about the rest of the trip!
I'm curious to see how Mikaela reacts to the characters. I think she'll be ok and love them -- especially her favorite Pooh characters.
Have a great weekend!
Im sure she will love the characters. The key thing with Mya was taking it slow and warming up to them. By the end of the week she was running up to them and hugging them.

Today was our late night in Epcot so we actually slept in late today and went to the Gingerbread House for breakfast. After a few more rides on the carousel we headed out. We got to the park around 3pm. Note: This was the first and only day we went to the park late. The crowds were horrible and extremely rude. We also didn't recieve alot of special treatment at this park as the wheelchair lines and the general lines are often together. First we took a couple of pics of Mya and the entrance. Then who should we see? Daisy was right outside of the entrance taking pictures.

Next, we headed straight towards the Nemo ride. It was a really dark ride and Mya did not like it but handled it better than the Pooh ride since she was sitting next to her Mommy. We then went to the Land Pavillion and rode Living with the Land. surprisingly this was Mya's favorite rideat Epcot. She loved looking at all the different landscapes, fruits, and veggies. We stopped for lunch at Sunshine Seasons and I have to say we will not be doing that again! n:scared1: I was left with Mya and a stroller to get everyone's food while my mom leuisurely held a table for us. Not only was the line cutting ridiculous, but personal space was nonexistent. Finally a CM saw me doing a balancing act with two trays, Mya, and a stroller and offered to help me carry a tryay. well wouldn't you know that a soda decided to fall at that exact moment. So while trying to clean up the soda, I found myself lifted up and moved to the side. That's right, instead of saying excuse me a man decided to physically move me out of the way. I told the man about the lovely word excuse me, gulped down my food, and ran out of there as fast as I could. After the nightmare lunch we headed towards Figment's ride. Another no-go for Mya but she loved the play area they had after the ride.

Before heading through World Pavillion, we stopped at Club Cool for the famous Beverly. How bad could it be? Well, it was horrible and i understand why it is used in Italy to clean your palette because it will fill your whole mouth with its taste. Onto our world tour. we walked through Norway, Mexico, and Morrocco. Our first stop stop was at China where we saw these amazing young people.

Next stop was Germany where my Mom and Mya each had a bratwurst and I had a pretzel. Then we walked around more untill it was time for our ressies at Garden Grill. Before we went to the Garden Grill, I took the fastpasses we got for Soarin earlier and gave them to this couple that I saw. Coincidently I saw the guy several times after that throughout our trip. It wasn't even in the parks. Small world huh. The food was great and Mya got a complimentary children's meal. Chip, Dale, Mickey, and Pluto even signed a personal card just for her. She had a blast and it was a great way to introduce her to the characters and ease her fears. She started by high fiving the characters and by the end of the night was blowing kisses. This was also her first encounter with Mickey. I got it on video and am still trying to figure out how to upload it. She adored Mickey and it was love at first sight. After dinner we headed back to the villa and slept.

Today was supposed to be our Seaworld day but when we woke up it was dreary and rainy. So we decided to take it easy today. Mya and I headed over to the GH for breakfast while my mom slept in. It was Disney photo day so we headed to the theatre for pics but wait a minute why are they heading towards us? This is when these magical moments took place.

Next we headed back to the theatre to take pictures. Mya was still scared of the costumed characters so she didn't get too close.
http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o30/tadiasha/OutsideDisney163.jpg
I wasn't certain how she would take her second meeting with Mickey nor if she would like Minnie. What did happen was pure magic. We were all ready to keep her away from the characters when she literally leaped out of my arms into Mickey's. I will let the pics speak for themselves.

This was her first character interaction and it was truly amazing. After more carousel rides I decided to do Downtown Disney instead of Seaworld. So we headed out and found a great parking spot in front of World of Disney store. Seems like everyone had the same idea as us because there was alot of people there. Mya used up alot of her Disney Dollars on a mini shopping spree through the World of Disney. She picked out a baby tinkerbelle plush, a minnie mouse backpack, an outfit, and a twix bar. When it came between the tinkerbelle costume and several lower priced items, Mya chose to get the lower priced stuff so she could get more things. she is one smart cookie. After shopping Mya said she wanted to go swimming so we headed to Earl of Sandwich for lunch then planned to head out. While in there ordering, Mya decided to make a scene by being adorable and sweet. she siddled up the line and started holding a woman's hand. (I was watching her the whole time.)
The people in front of us asked about her diagnosis and we started talking. Well out of nowhere one of the ladies asks us if she could buy our lunch. She said we had been through so much and it was one small thing she could do for us. I at first was inclined to say no but I realized this was part of the magic of our wish trip and said ok. After eating our delicous sandwiches, we headed to Goofy's Candy's shop. They had the most tempting things and have to admit I made three items all topped with piles of butterfingers and caramel. We left before I could go bankrupt and relaxed at the villa swimming and taking a much needed nap. Soon it was time for our last ressie at O'hana.
O'hana was great. The food was okay but the atmosphere and dessert was to die for. We got the most coveted spot in the dining room. A window seat with a perfect view of the castle for windows. The late seating was absolutely necessary because they let you stay untill Wishes is over. They pipe the music into the restuarant and let you watch the fireworks. Wishes was so beautiful and I seriously cried. Mya was watching the fireworks with the family sitting next to us. She was sitting on the Mom's lap. That's what I love about Mya. She has the tendency to bring out the best in people. We happily headed back to the villa and slept.
Day 5
Today was supposed to be our AK day but it was so hot and there wasn't anything really there for Mya. She is not really a sit down and watch a show type girl. She has to be constantly moving. So I decided why not do another day at Magic Kingdom. This time it was crowded even for it being early so instead of walking through MK with all those people, we hopped on the train and rode to Toontown. Mya loved this part. Unfortunately I lost my camera on the last day but I will still tell you what happened. We went through Mickeys House then met him in the Judge's tent. Then it was off to Minnie's then off to meet the fairies and princesses. We were escorted through the back and met the fairies first. Mya loved Tinkerbelle. Then in the princesses room, she saw Belle in her dress and loved her. While leaving, out of nowhere she hugged me and told me she loved me. Tissues anyone? Before leaving the park we rode splash mountain where we were able to use child swap and front of the line. It was amazing.
We of course went swimming some more then I tought it would be Nickelodeon night but discovered it was the morning that they actually do this. We had missed it. What to do? We took more pics and discovered the ambler train station.

Today started great became horrible and ended magically. We again slept in a little. Mya and I went to the GH for breakfast while Mom slept. Ronald was outside taking pictures and signing autographs so we ofcourse had to get one. We met my mom outside after we finished eating and we were off to US?IOA. While driving, I noticed we needed to get gas. Mom wasn't paying attention, got mad at me for not helping her more, I was tired. Not a good thing. Tempers flared. Mya and I got left stranded at a gas station. Thankfully a couple of nice strangers brought us back to the village but unfortunately our trip was ruined! Well, not really. GKTW called Mya's wish coordinator and a private driver was set up to take us back and forth to the parks. Mya and I had a great time at today. It was by far the best day out of all the days. We took our time and had special mommy/daughter time together. As soon as we walked through the gates we saw Dora and Diego. My little princess ran up without any fears and she met her idol.
http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o30/tadiasha/081409133005_01.jpg
We rode the Nuetron ride and the Shrek ride, then headed over to IOA. We went straight to Suessville. We rode every single ride and rode The Cat in the Hat and One Fish, Two Fish twice. In between rides we ate lunch in Circus Mcgurkus. Mya had a blast and slept the whole way back. We swam the rest of the day and ordered from Katie's Kitchen for dinner.
Day 7
Today was our last day and in some ways I was sad but also couldn't wait to get back to my own bed. We did some last minute packing then checked out. Our flight wasn't untill 5 pm so we killed some time by eating at Magianno's. It was 2:30 when we got to the airport but it was worth being early. It took us an hour and a half to get through baggage check and security. We soon discovered that our plane was delayed untill 6:10 so Mya made friends with the women sitting near us and ran around with them for a little while.
http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o30/tadiasha/072309173201.jpg
http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o30/tadiasha/072309173153.jpg
6:10 finally rolled in but so did a storm. We were allowed to board but we didn't actually get into the air untill 7:30. Then an two hours into the ride we flew right in the middle of a lightning storm. Lightning was literally outside the plane. :scared1::scared1: I seriously prayed untill we hit the ground and vowed to never get on a plane again. There was a gretter waiting for us to carry our bags and a stretch white limo. Mya and I were dropped off first around 11 pm and we collasped into our beds still drifting on a cloud.
Our trip was magical in spite of the disasters and fights simply because at the end of the day Mya's smile was all that mattered. I have never seen her that happy nor energetic since we started treatment and thankfully it has continued when we returned. She is not the same little girl she was when we left. She remembers the special way she was treated and it carries her through the constant treatments, hospital visits, and needles. I will leave you with a picture of her star because she has always been my special star but for a whole week she shone like one and was lifted to the sky.

I'm just in tears reading the end of your trip report.
Tears of happiness at all the magic you experienced - the family that offered to pay for your meal (I'm so glad you let them, now they are part of the magic too), Mya's amazing reaction to meeting Minnie and Mickey, and so much more.
There are also tears of sadness, I'm so sorry about the drama with your mom at the gas station and yet I am amazed at how quickly GKTW and MAW came together to ensure transportation for the remainder of you trip. Enduring a serious medical condition puts immeasureable stress on a family and I think everyone "snaps" at one point or another. We're only human after all. I hope you and your mom are able to work things out.
Your description of watching Wishes convinced me that I MUST make a reservation for O'hana. It wasn't even on my list but you've totally sold me on eating there - I only hope our dinner can be at least half as magical as yours.
Mya continues to be in our prayers. I visited her CB page and left you guys a message. Thank you for the regular updates on her condition. :grouphug:
